follows before we see a shot of Alistaire Allocco on
his way to the ring, and then a shot of Regan Street and Datura swinging chairs
at one another. The Breakdown logo comes up on the screen and remains on it for
a few moments.
We then cut to a live shot of the inside of the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. The cameras pan across the crowd for a few moments.
Sharper: “Four days away from
Rise to Greatness XVII, we roll into Milwaukee for some parting shots!”
The cameras cut to ringside
where Adam Sharper and Jonathan Knots stand at ringside, microphones in their
hand.
Sharper: “Hello again
everyone! Adam Sharper here with Jonathan Knots at ringside, and tonight, we
have some big matches just days before Rise to Greatness.”
Knots: “We know we’re going to
hear from a lot of people, but we have a big main event. Jake Starr faces Tommy
Valentine to cap it all off!”
Sharper: “Matt Hodges will be
action, as will Alistaire Allocco. Tune up matches to
make sure both are ring ready given their respective leg injuries. Along with
that, Ace Marshall and Aaron Blackbourne will meet in
what is sure to be a classic.”
Knots: “We’re days away from
the biggest night of the year. Tonight’s going to be explosive!”
The haunting opening lines of
‘Legends Never Die’ fill the arena, as smoke begins to form in the entranceway,
the fans on their feet
“Legends never die
When the world is callin' you
Can you hear them screaming out your name?
Legends never die (oo-oh)”
As the beat kicks in, a silhouette forms in the smoke, the noise in the arena
cranking up a notch
“They never lose hope when everything's cold
And the fighting's near”
Owen Cruze steps out through the smoke, and stands on
the stage, with a look left and right before a nod of acknowledgment to the
fans
“It's deep in their bones. They run into smoke when the fire is fierce
Oh, pick yourself up 'cause”
He doesn’t
do his normal entrance, instead just heading to the ring. The pyro shoots out
behind him anyway as he makes his walk down the rampway. He heads to the ring
and steps up the steel steps. He looks around the arena before entering the
ring. He then walks across to a microphone waiting for him.
Sharper: “We kick off
Breakdown tonight with a man who as a lot on his mind. Owen Cruze
is just days away from facing Giovanni Aries.”
Knots: “We saw the footage
last week and it messed with Owen. Giovanni somehow convincing Owen that not
only he was speaking to his dead father, but that his dead father was upset
with him. That’s screwed up!”
Sharper: “And it makes you
wonder what Giovanni Aries is doing. Either way, we’ve
been told that Sasha has effectively banned the Wonderland from the arena to
protect Owen and others. But this Sunday, no such protection.”
Owen grabs the microphone and
looks at it before walking back over to the middle of the ring. He then looks
around as his music fades out. Owen takes a moment and walks over to the ropes.
He takes a deep breath as an “Owen!” chant starts to echo throughout the arena.
Owen looks around, listening to it. He then nods a bit.
Owen: “Thanks for that…”
Owen
steps off and walks back to the middle of the ring.
Owen:
“You know, I’ve been spending a lot of time in my head the last two weeks.”
Owen
pauses.
Owen:
“I believed I talked to my dead father and not only that…that he was disappointed
in me because I was fighting the Wonderland…that I sold my soul for whatever
success I have in this ring.”
Owen
stops for a moment.
Owen:
“At first I was pissed off at Giovanni Aries…who’s
apparently not allowed in. To protect me…”
The
crowd boos.
Owen:
“Nah…it’s probably a smart move. Or at least was…”
Sharper:
“What’s that mean?”
Owen
stops again.
Owen:
“Then I was pissed off at myself. I believed my father
would have said anything like that. Anyone that knows my father knows that he
would have wanted me to stand on principles. Not some delusional ramblings.”
Owen
stops again.
Owen:
“That took me some time to come to terms with.”
Owen
then looks up.
Owen:
“And then I was angry at Giovanni again. Because he caused me to think all of
that. Because he’ll weaponize anything just because he
can. He’ll EXPLOIT…just like he claims the Lizard
Kingdom would. And all that crap aside, I actually
bought in. And thanks to Peyton, to Aaron, to Alistaire….to Jennifer….to Kelcey….I’m standing here now.”
Owen
looks around as the crowd cheers.
Owen:
“I’m standing here now, trying to come to terms with the one thing I wasn’t
ready to face…that I had disappointed my father. In this last year, I’ve won the World Title. I beat Syren
in singles action. I beat my uncle in what is his last match.”
Owen
looks up again.
Owen:
“I know I didn’t disappoint him. I know that he’d be
looking down on my proud. Because I know him. And that I doubted that just
once…Giovanni…you may be banned tonight because Sasha thought it would be best
for me…she was wrong. It’s best for you!”
The
crowd erupts in cheers as Owen’s voice gets more confident.
Owen:
“Because if you came out here right now, I may do something I’d regret, but
again I’d know that at the end of the day, my father would stand by me. Kelcey would stand by me. And frankly, Giovanni, after
everything you’ve done…attacking Mr. D, attacking Kelcey,
getting in my head….I don’t care if in your mind, I am batting for the Lizard
King team, but you’ve been trying to win me over to your side for a long ass
time, and well, Giovanni, two weeks ago, you made up my mind…because Giovanni,
I don’t want whatever the Wonderland claims to provide. I just think it’s one big pile of crap that you’ve gotten everyone to buy
into. Now I’m not going to get cute like Ace Marshall
and burn it down. I’m not going to even fight on your
terms like Jason. I’m going to have you come to this ring at Rise to Greatness
and if the Wonderland is so damn great, you’ll kick my
ass.”
The
crowd boos a bit.
Owen:
“Too bad I’m not going to let that happen. Because simply put, you’ve made it damn clear in my head. I’m not only fighting
for me, but for Mr. D, for Kelcey, for my father
who’s memory you pissed on because you thought it would gain you points, you
pathetic delusional son of a bitch!”
The
crowd roars and the “Owen” chant returns. Owen looks out at the crowd.
Owen:
“And I’m going to make you pay for that, the way it needs to be done, in the
middle of this damn ring at Rise to Greatness!”
Just
then, we see Peyton Rice coming out from the back, trying to get Owen’s
attention. She jogs down to the ring. Owen turns and heads over.
Sharper:
“Peyton Rice coming out, but seemingly to tell something.”
Knots:
“Owen’s on fire. He’s ready to go for this Sunday.”
Owen
then exits the ring and Peyton turns and heads with him. The crowd buzzes as
they head to the back.
Sharper:
“Whatever it is, he’s going.”
Knots:
“Gotta be serious-“
Sharper:
“Sorry, Jon. It’s Giovanni Aries. He and the
Wonderland are outside in the parking lot!”
Owen
and Peyton head up the rampway and through the curtain. We then cut backstage
and wait a moment before Peyton and Owen walk out of the tunnel.
Owen:
“He’s here.”
Peyton:
“Yeah, but you can wait. You can-“
Owen
turns and looks around before going over to a pile of piping for the
scaffolding and grabs one and starts to head down the hallway.
Peyton;
“Okay then. Don’t do anything you’ll regret, Owen.”
Owen:
“No…I have to do this.”
The crowd
cheers as Owen continues down the hallway. He takes a few steps before stopping
and we see Kelcey Wallace waiting.
Peyton:
“I tried to stop-“
Kelcey:
“Peyton, it’s fine…you sure, Owen?”
Owen:
“One hundred percent.”
Kelcey:
“Then let’s go.”
Peyton:
“Kelcey?”
Kelcey: “He’s
ready for the consequences. That’s all I care about.”
Peyton:
“Me too then.”
The
crowd roars as Owen is already down the hallway, holding the piping. The camera
follows Owen with Kelcey and Peyton behind him. The
crowd cheers as they head over to a set of doors and Owen opens them and steps
out. We then see Dean Black out there and some security guards. Giovanni Aries
is heard.
Giovanni:
“Ah Owen! Have I opened your eyes finally?!”
The
cameraman gets out as Owen steps forward and swings the pipe toward Giovanni.
He backs up and cackles a bit as Cain Adams steps forward. Security quickly
gets between the two groups as Giovanni just looks on. Cain tries to get to
Owen as Peyton and Kelcey stand with Owen. Dean Black
stands between the two groups.
Owen:
“Opened my eyes wide! Hope you’re ready Sunday!”
Giovanni
laughs a bit.
Giovanni:
“Hope Kelcey enjoys what she’ll watch! Lando too!”
Owen
lunges again, but is stopped by Black and security.
Black:
“Get them off the property!”
Sharper:
“Giovanni Aries taunting Owen Cruze, but Cruze standing up!”
Knots:
“Taunting Kelcey Wallace too and she’ll be at
ringside in Cruze’s corner!”
Sharper:
“What a start here on Breakdown! Tensions already running high!”
Security
starts to split off, some keeping Owen back, as Peyton and Kelcey
now start to help get Owen back. The others go to get Giovanni Aries, Cain Adams and Alice Ames away as the scene fades to black.

Glory
Braddock vs. Kelsai Adamson-Mason
The first chords of "When
Legends Rise" begins to play over the PA system...
Phillips: “The opening contest tonight on Breakdown is scheduled for onefall and has a fifteen minute
time limit. First, from London, England, she is The British Bombshell, Glory
Braddock!”
Glory Braddock steps out onto the stage, wearing her ring gear consisting of
purple spandex pants, boots, and a purple top. She really does look like a
million bucks and grins from ear to ear, gazing out at the crowd for a moment
before making her way down the entrance ramp.
It's burning down, it's burning high
when ashes fall the legends rise
We burned it out oh my oh why
When ashes fall the legends rise
Throat is dry, my vision's fading
I'm paralyzed and left here waiting
Taking time just one step forward
Won't lose my mind, I'm here to stay
The British Bombshell steps up the steel steps and then onto the ring apron.
She poses momentarily on the apron, allowing people to take snapshots before
stepping through the ropes and into the ring. Once in the ring Glory
heads to the center of the ring and poses once more. Then the music dies down
slowly.
Sharper: “Glory Braddock days
away from challenging for the SCW Adrenaline Championship and facing tonight,
the woman Peyton Rice faced last year at Rise to Greatness weekend.”
Knots: “A lot of similarities
too. Their careers have circled around each other. Glory knows that. She’s
hoping that’s going to cause some down in Peyton days before.”
“Let Love In” plays as the
crowd roars. A few moments pass before Kelsai Adamson-Mason
walks out from the back, with Amy Chastaine. She
smiles at the crowd before starting to make her way down to the ring.
Phillips: “Her opponent,
accompanied by Amy Chastaine, from Seattle,
Washington, she is Kelsai Adamson-Mason!”
Getting to the ring, Kelsai jumps from the floor to the ring apron before she
steps through the ropes, reveals her simple all white attire, and goes to her
corner, smiling and waving enthusiastically, before she gets ready for her
match, with Amy keeping watch from the corner outside.
Sharper: “Kelsai
Adamson-Mason will be one of many in the Brawl to Settle it All. Sasha deciding
to allow effectively some chaos this Sunday and in the
process, hopefully ending some issues between some competitors.”
Knots: “Wonderland is invited.
We’ll see if they show up though. But Kelsai may be better off focusing on the US Title
opportunity at Apocalypse that comes with the match!”
The
bell sounds. Kelsai and Glory look at one another
before the two step up and lock-up in the middle of
the ring. The crowd cheers as Kelsai and Glory push
back one on another and Glory moves into a side headlock. She pulls back and
then grabs the arm and spins through and into an arm wrench. Kelsai winces and somersaults forward. She nips up and then
hip throws Glory down. Glory gets up and shoves Kelsai
back. She steps back and Glory steps up and grabs Kelsai
in a side headlock. She drags her back to the middle of the ring. Glory then this
time, turns to the arm and then wrenches it again before moving into a
hammerlock. Kelsai reaches up, then down. Glory steps
back and Kelsai grabs Glory’s head. She jumps up and
drops down, snapmaring Glory down. Glory rolls
through. Kelsai gets up. She runs into the ropes.
Glory steps up and Kelsai shoulders her down.
Sharper:

toward her. Kelsai hops over and bounces off the
other side. Glory gets up and jumps up for a leapfrog. Kelsai

Especially if Gold works with her!”
Glory

to the steel steps. She stops. (2) The crowd boos her as Glory turns and snaps
at the crowd. Kelsai waits. (3) She walks up the steel
steps and along the apron. She enters the ring and looks across. Kelsai asks her if she’s ready.
Glory looks away before then lunging at Kelsai and
kicking her in the ribs. The crowd boos. Glory spins her into the corner and
kicks her in the ribs. She then nails her with a couple of hard rights, getting
a warning from the referee before Glory grabs Kelsai

Sharper:
“Glory was going to try and end it there. Looking for the Shekinah Glory! Kelsai had it scouted. Kelsai, a
student of the game!”
Knots:
“A lot of tape on Glory. If you don’t think Amy had
her watching it, well, you’re an idiot!”
Glory
waits as Kelsai starts to get up. Glory then moves in
and kicks her in the ribs. Glory whips her across. Kelsai
bounces off and Glory hits a back drop. Kelsai rolls over and gets up and Glory kicks her in the

2!
Kelsai kicks
out again. Glory nods before getting up and stomping Kelsai
in the face. Kelsai rolls over and grabs at the
ropes.
Sharper:
“Glory in one sense admiring the heart of Kelsai-“
Knots:
“Then trying to snuff it out.”
Sharper:
“A stomp to the head. Just some disrespect. That new tone we’ve seen from Glory
Braddock in much of 2020.”
Kelsai
starts to get up and Glory nails her in the ribs with a shot. She then pulls
her back and hits a reverse DDT. Glory gets up and exits to the apron. She
climbs up to the top rope. The crowd boos. Kelsai
starts to get up and looks up and Glory goes for a missile dropkick. Kelsai moves out of the way. Glory hits the mat and she pops up only for Kelsai to jump to

Sharper:
“Glory thought she had an opening to take Kelsai
down!”
Knots:
“But she moved! And then a spear!”
Sharper:
“Something Glory may suffer from Peyton Rice this Sunday!”
Kelsai then
turns and moves to the corner as Glory holds her ribs in pain. Kelsai then jumps to the middle rope and then the top rope
and goes for the Double Shot. Glory gets her knees up though. Kelsai pops up, standing up from the impact, holding her
ribs before Glory moves and grabs her arm and locks in the Shekinah Glory. The
crowd boos. Kelsai struggles a bit, but Glory quickly
hooks the hold in. She turns as the crowd boos more. The official checks on Kelsai as she starts to fade. She slowly falls to her side.
The official checks on her again, taking a moment, before getting up and
calling for the bell. The bell sounds. The crowd boos as Glory holds on for a
moment longer. Amy grabs the ropes to step in, but Glory lets go and rolls
back.
Phillips:
“Here is your winner, via submission, Glory Braddock!”
The
crowd boos. Glory gets up and looks around.
Sharper:
“Glory Braddock fighting Kelsai right to the end. Kelsai’s speed had its moments, but Glory caught Kelsai with one mistake and right into the Shekinah Glory.”
Knots:
“Experience over youth and speed. What Glory is hoping works for her this weekend
against Peyton Rice for the Adrenaline Championship!”
The
crowd continues to boo as Glory Braddock has her arm raised. She then turns and
walks over to the ropes and looks around before exiting to the floor. She heads
to the back.
Backstage,
we see Jaina Lancaster walking over to Lexy Chapel who is sitting on the floor.
Jaina: “Uh…Lexy…you okay?”
Lexy looks
up. She then gets up to her feet.
Lexy: “No…just…no…”
Lexy looks
at Jaina and then around.
Lexy: “You
were sent by SCW…”
Jaina: “Well
yeah, I work here.”
Lexy: “Then
I don’t want to talk to you. You’re going to try and
stop me. The SUPER INTELLIGENT BEAR NEEDS TO BE STOPPED! YOU WON’T STOP ME! I’ll go through anyone to do it. Even Xander! Yeah! Xander!”
Lexy gulps
and looks around before heading off. As she does, she turns the corner and
walks into someone, falling back. She covers her face. We then see Ace Marshall
step forward.
Ace: “Uh…Lexy…you okay?”
Cookie
Dreams then runs over and starts to help Lexy up.
Cookie:
“Oh goodness. You fell over. Here. Let me help you up! I just heard you! You
have a bear to fight! They can be tough, but I hope you’re only doing it with
KABLAM Labs approved products!”
Lexy gets
up and looks around.
Lexy: “Oh
no…..a real bear. Like grrr…roar….and
slash your throat out!”
Ace: “Cookie…different
bear.”
Cookie:
“Oh…well we don’t kink shame at KABLAM Labs!”
Lexy: “Whatever!
I’ll go through both of you too! NO ONE WILL STOP ME
FROM STOPPING THE DANCING BEAR!”
Lexy turns
and storms off as Ace nods. Jaina walks over to Ace.
Jaina: “Ace…Cookie…you’re
not with Cassidy?”
Cookie:
“We’re sharing notes! See!”
Cookie
pulls out a duotang and holds it up, letting the
pages flail.
Jaina: “Duotang?”
Ace: “Yeah,
some weird Canadian word. You’re Canadian?”
Cookie
shakes her head. Derek then comes back with two coffees and hands one to
Cookie.
Cookie:
“Okay…so, let’s go over everything again. Big moment
here for us.”
Jaina just
nods.
Jaina: “I’ve
leave you be.”
Ace: “Thanks.”
Ace
turns back to Cookie as the scene fades out.

Ridley
Ellis vs. Erica Eden
The opening of “Faith” by
Ghost fills the arena as smoke obscures the entrance. A few seconds in Erica
Eden walks through as the smoke disperses. She wears a black leather jacket
over her gear, black tights and halter top, black boots, all trimmed with
silver studs.
Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall
and has a ten minute time limit. First, from New York
City, New York, she is Erica Eden!”
Erica makes her way to the ring as her music jumps to the chorus, the words
appearing on the Tron:
I am all eyes
I am all ears
I am the wall
And I'm watching you fall
Because
FAITH IS MINE!
Erica goes up the ring steps and steps through the ropes. She removes the jacket
as she goes to the center of the ring, then slings it over her shoulder, posing
with the other hand on her hip. She then slowly smiles and turns, swishing the
jacket around before tossing it to the outside. The music fades as she goes to
her corner.
Sharper: “Erica Eden will be
getting ready for her first Rise to Greatness weekend. She’s got to be having a
unique experience at the side of Josh Hudson.”
Knots: “That could come to a
stop tonight. Ridley Ellis has been taking no prisoners!”
"Fake It" by Seether
starts playing and Ridley's Manager Lester Damron
comes out first followed by Ridley and his valet/girlfriend Ali Damron.
Phillips: “Her opponent,
accompanied by Lester and Ali Damron, from Parts
Unknown, he is Ridley Ellis!”
They come down the aisle toward
ring together, ignoring the hostile, booing crowd who already don't like them. Only Lester has a smirk on his face.
Arriving at the ring, Ridley walks up the steps and gets inside, while Ali goes
to his corner outside, giving him instruction before the bell and Lester goes
over to join the announce team for this match.
Sharper: “Ridley Ellis looking
to send a message to Konrad Raab
and we’re joined here by Lester Damron.”
Knots: “I’m sure we’ll hear
just that.”
Lester puts on the headset as
the bell sounds. Ridley steps up and swings at Erica. Erica ducks and spins
around. Ridley turns and stalks her a bit. He goes for a lunging clothesline.
Erica ducks again.
Lester: “I always said it’s
not good to play with one’s food. But if that food is trying to fight, you need
to pin it down. And Ridley is going to show just that here if Erica isn’t
ready.”
Sharper: “She’s been trained
by one of the best in Josh Hudson.”
Lester: “Training isn’t
everything, Mr. Sharper.”
Ridley takes a deep breath as
Erica keeps watching him. He then lunges again, but this time, Erica jumps up
and wraps her arms around Ridley’s arm and taking him down with a rolling
armbar. The crowd roars. Ridley turns and holds onto his arm as Erica keeps
trying to hyperextend it.
Knots: “Well she may be
pinning Ridley Ellis down!”
Sharper: “Great flying armbar!
Ridley in trouble if he loses that grip.”
Lester: “He won’t. He knows
what’s at stake.”
Erica keeps trying to pull as
Ridley then rolls over and gets his knees under him. The crowd roars as Erica
tries to push and Ridley goes to stand up, but Erica then lets
go and spins around and takes Ridley down with a drop toe hold. The crowd
cheers. Erica turns and hooks the leg and moves to the ankle. Ridley however gets
up before hitting a vicious back kick, catching Erica in the jaw. She falls to
the ropes.
Sharper: “Erica showing great
skill, trying to move from one hold to another.”
Lester: “Perhaps I
underestimated her. She has good instincts. Too bad, Ridley does too, as that
kick showed.”
Knots: “He also doubles as a
dentist. The force of that kick!”
Erica gets up and Ridley gets
up and clubs her in the back violently before nailing her again and then just
lifting her up and tossing her across the ring. Erica rolls over and gets up in
the corner. Ridley runs at her and nails her with a running knee to the ribs.
He rears back and knees her again and then a third time. She falls over to the ropes
and Ridley places his foot on the back of her head.

Erica shoots a shoulder up.
Ridley gets up and we then hear a roar from the crowd as Konrad Raab walks out from the back, dressed ready to fight.
Sharper: “Ridley Ellis getting
two, but we have company.”
Lester: “Now this, this is a
mistake.”
Knots: “Last week he made one.
Still took Ridley down.”
Lester: “And lost the match.
You can get lucky, but you need to win the war.”
Raab heads to the ring as Ridley
turns to the ropes. Ali tells him to turn back to Erica. Ridley turns around
and Erica Eden suddenly hits a vicious Lariat of Fire. Ridley hits the mat.
Knots: “Hello!”
Sharper: “She just knocked
Ellis off his feet!”
The crowd roars. Erica goes
for the pin.

Ridley kicks out. Erica gets
up and Ridley slowly does too. He turns and Erica hits a spinning heel kick.
Ridley hits the mat. He rolls over and stirs and Erica goes for the leg and
takes him down with a double leg takedown. She then grabs at the leg. She tires
to again turn him over for the Serpent’s Coil, trying to get the ankle lock in
first before going for the grapevine. Ridley grits his teeth and fights again
before flipping forward. Raab reaches the ring and
Erica falls into the ropes right by him. Ridley gets up as Ali just smiles as Raab glances at her. Ridley then grabs Erica from behind
and pulls her back into a vicious short-arm clothesline to the back of her
head. Erica stirs and Ridley drags her up before hitting the Seize the Day. Ridley
goes for the pin.

The crowd boos as Ridley then
gets up and steps forward. Ali taunts Raab to get in.
Raab doesn’t hesitate,
entering the ring.
Phillips: “Here is your
winner, via pinfall, Ridley Ellis!”
Lester: “How nice…waited until
the end of the match. Now he’ll learn that was a poor choice.”
Sharper: “Raab
coming in as Ellis has won. And here we go!”
Raab enters and nails Ridley with
a hard European uppercut and then another and another
before Ridley falls into the ropes. Raab grabs him
and whips him across the ring. Ridley bounces off and Raab
runs at him and nails him with a clothesline. The crowd roars as Ridley gets up
and moves to the corner. Just as he does, we see the woman who attacked Raab last week, followed by Crystal Zdunich
a few feet behind her. The woman enters and runs over as Ridley blocks a hard
right from Raab and the woman clubs Raab. Raab falls over to the
ropes. The woman heads over and stomps away on him as Zdunich
turns and goes over to Raab to, joining in.
Sharper: “That woman again!
Crystal Zdunich with her. And they’re going after Raab!”
Knots: “Zdunich
is facing Eden this Saturday. Guess she thinks she’s down!”
Ridley goes to step forward as
Lester Damron, who has left the announce table, gets
his attention and tells him to stop. Ridley rolls to
the floor. The crowd boos as he starts to walk away. Raab
covers up as Zdunich and the woman get their shots
in, before Erica gets up and runs over and grabs Zdunich
from behind and hits a release German suplex. Zdunich rolls over and Eden gets up as the woman turns and
looks at her. Erica watches her and then Zdunich as the
woman moves to the middle of the ring. Raab starts to
pull himself up as Erica gravitates to him. Ridley Ellis and the Damrons merely leave the ringside area and head to the
back.
Sharper: “Eden helping Raab and now its two on two!”
Officials however run to the
ring as the crowd boos. Crystal rolls to the floor, turning away from the ring.
The woman backs away slowly and steps through the ropes to the floor, joining
her. Eden and Raab look on as the crowd boos

Jaina: “Crystal…can

The woman

Woman:
“The name’s Maria, Maria Salvatore….and any other questions about me…can be
answered one way…Screw Konrad Raab!”
Jaina: “Alright…well,
Crystal, you followed Maria out there. In the process, you had a brief taste of
Erica Eden, who you’ll face along with Holly Adams.”
Crystal

Crystal:
“Nice to meet you Erica…you’ll regret throwing me like you did. As for Holly…we

Damian
Angel vs. Matt Hodges
I Want It All!
I Want It All!
I Want It All!
And I Want It Now!
The opening guitar riff of Queen’s “I Want It All” and Matt Hodges makes his
way out from behind the curtain to momentous boos from the crowd. He pays no
heed as he walks down to the ring, smirking. The fans sing “Matt Hodges sucks!”
in unison with the chorus of the song.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall and has a fifteen minute time limit. First, from Miami, Florida, he is
World Class, Matt Hodges!”
Hodges slow moves up the
steps, wipes his foot on the apron, and gets into the ring. He walks into the
opposite corner and pulls on the top rope. “I Want It All” dies out as the fans
continue to chant “Matt Hodges sucks!”
Sharper:
“Matt Hodges is just days away from facing Alistaire
Allocco. He wanted Allocco in action. He’ll get that
tonight. But Hodges, who gave Alistaire that injury,
will also be in action tonight.”
Knots:
“And we could see that match canned. Both are nursing leg injuries. This is SCW
testing them out. They’re both cleared. But not only,
they want to make sure a wheel doesn’t fall off at the
biggest night of the year. Are both match ready?”
Sharper:
“Part of why you see this match and Alistaire’s.
Damian Angel now respects Alistaire. He’ll hold off to a degree. Jay Gold respects Alistaire too. So this is more to
ensure there’s some sparring for both too.”
The opening lines of The
Rasmus' "Lucifer's Angel" begin to play over the crowd suddenly,
without the introduction of the song...
Behind those eyes lies the truth and grief
Behind those beautiful smiles I've seen tragedy
The flawless skin hides the secrets within
Silent forces that secretly ignite your sins
Damian Angel steps out onto the top of the ramp , inciting boos from the crowd.
He looks at the crowd. The lights in the arena all turn off, leaving the sight
of pitch black. As the chorus strikes up, a red spotlight begins to follow
Angel to the ring.
Phillips: “His opponent, from
Hell, Michigan, he is the Hellbound Messiah, Damian
Angel!”
By the end of the chorus, Angel has rolled toward the centre of the ring,
pulling himself to one knee. Damian runs his hand over the canvas before
pounding his right fist down upon the SCW logo, immediately springing to his
feet thereafter. As this verse goes on, Damian unfastens the clasps of his
rope, letting it drop down to the mat behind him. He glares out over the crowd.
Angel climbs onto the middle rope and outstretches his arms, bringing them
together in an 'X' formation as he looks down towards the pits of hell. He
repeats this process on the other three sides of the ring, and after the last
one he hops off the turnbuckle.
Sharper: “As mentioned, Damian
Angel respects Alistaire. The idea here is if Matt
isn’t ready, he’ll pull off.”
Knots: “Not just that, he
probably can smell the BS if Hodges tries to pull what he did against Peyton
Rice or Alistaire Allocco weeks ago.”
The bell sounds and Hodges
heads over, limping slightly, and nailing Damian with a forearm shot. He then
kicks him in the ribs before grabbing Damian and snapmaring
him out. Damian rolls over and Hodges drives an elbow to the upper chest.
Damian stirs and Hodges gets up and grabs him and hooks him up and hits a
vertical suplex. Damian winces and Hodges floats
over.

Damian kicks out. Hodges then
gets up and dusts his hands. He walks over to the official and pats him on the
shoulder. He turns to the nearby camera and gives a thumbs up.
Hodges: “I’m good. Warmed up!
Knee is fine!”
Hodges knocks on his knee,
wincing a bit, before turning and going to walk off. Damian gets up.
Sharper: “Hodges is just
acting like he’s done!”
Knots: “Guess he’s warmed up.
Got a suplex off. Moving on with his life!”
He starts to head off and
Damian gets up and walks over and grabs him. He spins him around. Hodges rakes
his eyes. He then grabs Damian and turns and throws him through the ropes to
the floor. Matt turns.
Hodges: “He’s done too!”
Damian then grabs Hodges by
the leg and pulls him to the floor. Hodges turns and Damian hits a chop. The
crowd woos. He then hits a throat thrust. (1) He grabs Hodges and runs him over
to the ring apron, driving him face first into it. Hodges staggers back. (2)
Damian grabs him and rolls him into the ring. Hodges slowly staggers up and
Damian slides in. Hodges turns and Damian clotheslines him down. Hodges rolls
over and gets up and Damian chops him hard. The crowd woos. Hodges staggers
back to the corner. Damian then chops him again. More woos.
Sharper: “Damian doesn’t look
good Mr. Hodges and Damian’s wearing out the chest of Hodges!”
Knots: “Damian wants to test
out his chopping swing!”
Damian then whips Hodges
across the ring. Hodges staggers across. Damian runs after and nails him with a
running clothesline. He then backs up and scoops Hodges up and hits a
backbreaker. He then goes for the pin.

2!
Hodges pushes him off. He
turns and rolls over, waving off Angel. Angel gets up and stomps Hodges in the
chest. Hodges winces and Damian grabs him and drags him up again. He then hooks
him by the head and hits a snap suplex. Hodges rolls
over and moves to his knees by the corner. Damian turns and heads over and
Hodges suddenly grabs him and hits an exploder suplex
into the corner. The crowd ohs and boos. Hodges rolls
away. He kicks out his leg, to get the blood moving, as he pulls himself up.
Sharper: “Hodges counters and
Angel landing hard in the corner.”
Knots: “Those posts don’t
move. Can’t go too far there!”
Angel
remains down as Hodges gets up and limps over and grabs him by the head. He
pulls him out before hoisting him up and hitting a back suplex.
Hodges then turns and grinds his forearm in the face of Angel. Angel pushes
away. He rolls over and Hodges gets up. He then grabs Angel and hits a knee
rake to the side of his head. Angel rolls over to the ropes. He uses them to
get up and Hodges grabs him and hits another back suplex.
He rolls over for the pin.

Sharper:
“Angel with the bulldog. Spinning down and driving him down.”
Knots:
“Fighting through whatever Hodges is throwing. Hodges is showing that knee can’t be too bad. He’s able to suplex
him around.”
Hodges
rolls over and Damian gets up and runs into the ropes, bounces off and hits a powerdrive elbow. He then grabs him and drags him up. He
then places his head between his legs. He hoists him up and powerbombs him
down. Damian turns and exits to the apron. He then climbs up to the top rope. The
crowd roars. He dives forward and goes for a double stomp. Hodges rolls out of
the way. Damian rolls through. He gets up and turns and runs at Hodges and
Hodges catches him and hits a second exploder suplex
into the corner. The crowd ohs. Damian rolls over as
Hodges gets up. Hodges grabs him and drags him up. He then hooks him up by the
head and hooks his leg before hoisting him up and throwing him over with a
fisherman’s brainbuster. The crowd ohs.
Sharper:
“Driven down onto his head. Hodges even hooking the leg for added leverage.”
Knots:
“Angel has to be out!”
Hodges
rolls him over and hooks the leg.

alright.”
Knots:
“Had to hoist him up!”
Sharper:
“And Alistaire Allocco better be ready. He will have
a tough challenge this Sunday.”
Knots:
“If he gets through tonight.”
Hodges
gets up and limps over to the ropes. He then holds his arm up. He glances back
at Damian and then the official before dropping down to the mat and rolling to
the floor. He then starts to walk around the ring a bit gingerly. The camera
focuses on him before we cut away.

Aaron Blackbourne vs. Ace Marshall
All of a sudden, the lights go out, prompting
a surprised pop from the fans. The tune of “My Name” by From Ashes To New begins, the lyrics starting about eight seconds into
the song. White lights slowly begin to envelop the stage as we see that smoke
has also begun to engulf it. The Tron also comes to life with clips of Aaron Blackbourne in action, both as himself and as his various
demon incarnations, as well as clips of his various artistic endeavors
including writing, painting, drawing and digital art. During this, we see a
figure standing in the smoke, but that and the lighting make it impossible to
tell who the silhouette belongs to. When the song hits the chorus, pyro
suddenly goes off on the sides of the stage in sync with the silhouette
throwing his arms in the familiar raised and outstretched pose, the smoke
clearing almost as if on command to reveal the creative soul himself, causing
the fans erupt into cheers.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall and has a thirty minute time limit. First, from Seattle, Washington,
he is Aaron Blackbourne!”
The lights start to come back
on, although they're both dimmed and rotating between every color in the
spectrum to the beat of the song, as Blackbourne
begins making his way down to the ring, happily accepting high fives from the
fans with a smile. As he reaches ringside he suddenly leaps onto the apron and
quickly climbs so that he’s got one foot on the top turnbuckle, and in tune
with the chorus kicking in a second time he briefly crosses his arms across his
chest before throwing them out in the same raised and outstretched pose as
before, the lights going out again as white spotlights suddenly come on and
converge upon him as he closes his eyes and basks in this moment, also letting
the lyrics of the song serve as a reminder of exactly who he is and why he does
this. When the chorus ends, Blackbourne leaps from
the top into the ring as the lights completely return to normal, removing his
black jacket and setting it into his corner before he begins doing some light
warm-ups for the match ahead.
Sharper:
“Aaron Blackbourne is hoping to finally get the
monkey off his back; to get Shilo Valiant out of his
life.”
Knots:
“He’s challenged him, at Shilo’s stage, at Rise to
Greatness. It’s going to end one way or another!”
A countdown starts on the big
screen in fast progression from five to one before "Adrenalize" hits
the speakers and the spotlights start to spin and focus in on the stage. The
fans erupt in cheers as on stage Ace Marshall steps out with Oakley shades and
a black reflective jacket.
ADRENALIZE ME
He pauses before raises his arms up for the crowd as strobe lights break out
throughout the arena for the crowd in different shades of red, blue and green
in rapid succession. Smoke erupts from underneath them and along the ramp way.
He snaps his fingers and bobs his head before pointing out to the crowd.
Phillips: “His opponent, making his way to the ring, coming in from Las Vegas,
Nevada, Ace Marshall!”
Ace casually strolls down the ramp. Reaching the ring Ace slides in before
standing up and running his hands through his hair, singing along with the
song. Making his way to the corner, he climbs up it before looking out into the
crowd while thrusting an arm up as the crowd cheers him on. Dropping down after
a moment he turns his back to the audience before removing his jacket and
shades. He sets them to the side of the apron for an official to grab just as
the match is about to be underway.
Sharper: “Ace Marshall out
here alone. This could be a hell of a match here too. Two competitors who are
World Championship calibre.”
Knots: “Blackbourne
getting close twice. Ace has held it. That could be a difference maker. At some
point, Aaron has to start becoming an is, not a never
was.”
The bell sounds. Blackbourne and Marshall circle the ring. They then lunge
and lock up in the middle. Blackbourne drops down and
around and into a waistlock. Ace reaches around and
then grabs his arm. He pulls out and under and into an arm wrench. Blackbourne rolls forward and then cartwheels up. He then
wrenches Ace’s arm. The crowd applauds a bit as Ace then walks over to the
ropes and uses them for a backflip. He then forearms him in the jaw and spins Blackbourne into the corner. Ace moves in and goes for a
hard right. Blackbourne blocks it and spins Ace in
and knees him in the ribs. He then grabs him and whips him across the ring. Blackbourne runs after as Ace bounces off and just up and
over Blackbourne with a leapfrog. He stops and Blackbourne turns around and Ace hits an arm drag takedown
and holds on. Ace smirks.
Sharper: “Ace with the arm
drag and you can see both feeling each other out.”
Knots: “Also pushing each
other early. Trying to see what they have in mind. Both are always thinking in
there.”
Ace and Aaron get up and Ace
then pulls Aaron down by the hair and goes for an elbow drop. Blackbourne rolls out of the way. Marshall gets up and Blackbourne kicks him in the ribs and then hits a jumping
knee to the jaw. Ace falls to the ropes. Blackbourne
grabs him and whips him across. He bounces off and Blackbourne
hits a back elbow. Ace hits the mat and Blackbourne

over.
Sharper: “Great suplex by Ace as he starts to pick up the pace.”
Knots: “Maybe he’s looking to
let Blackbourne’s creativity get him going. He’s
going to have to figure a few things out given that a few people want his head
this Sunday!”
Sharper: “Could still happen
tonight. Clyde Sutter, for one, isn’t one to follow rules!”
Blackbourne stirs and gets up and Ace
scoops him up and slams him down. He goes for the pin.

Knots: “Shilo
Valiant is just watching this all. Probably from home. He’s not getting hurt.”
Sharper: “He’s also not been
in the ring since Taking Hold of the Flame. We talked about warming up and

Sharper: “Marshall wins, but

That may be the difference.”
Knots: “I think so. I think it
just caught Blackbourne. Shilo
Valiant playing his little games.”
Ace gets up as his music plays
as the lights return to normal. Ace looks around and shakes his head. He pulls
away from the official and rolls to the floor. He looks under the ring and
grabs a steel chair. He then lifts it up and looks around. He then stops.
Sharper: “And Ace Marshall now
with a chair!”
Knots: “I think he’s waiting
for Sutter! I’m stunned Sutter didn’t come out during that one!”
Ace looks around as he heads
over to the entrance way. He then stops and looks around before starting to
head to the back, still holding the chair. Aaron Blackbourne
rolls over, holding his jaw, and looks up. He just looks disappointed. He
starts to get up when the lights then go out. The crowd roars. The lights
remain off for a few moments.
Sharper: “Now what?”
Knots: “Not spotlight. That’s a plus, right?”
Sharper: “Is there another
message or-“
The spotlight returns and we
see Shilo Valiant standing in the ring, with blue
paint dripping off him and his arms outstretched. The paint drops onto the
canvas.
Shilo: “Come on Blackbourne!
Show the world what creativity you can paint on this canvas!”
Shilo laughs as Aaron Blackbourne looks at Shilo. The
paint continues to drip, the camera catching it as Blackbourne
just looks at Valiant. Valiant then leans over.
Shilo: “Or will I have to force you
into making one worth looking at!”
Blackbourne just looks at Valiant as he
steps up, defiantly. Shilo then points to him.
Shilo: “You can start now!”
Shilo extends his arms, causing
more paint to drip to the canvas. The camera remains on him for a few moments
longer as Aaron Blackbourne refuses to bite and the scene fades to black.

Jessica:

Jessica:
“Just curious why you stayed backstage. I figured you’d be out there to take

Clyde:
“Ya think I’m just a blunt instrument. I got some

Jessica:

The arena goes dark and
silent. The video package starts, with the lyrics of “Style” by Taylor Swift
began to play over the arena, the package shows Sienna Swann in many of her
runway walks and shoots, entering the ring with the red carpet rolled out and
paparazzi taking pictures on track with the music...
You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye…
And I got that red lip, classic thing that you like….
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time….
The lyrics suddenly stop at the sound of a record scratching, the video turns
from color to black and white, showing Sienna pacing the hallways distraught,
how she reacted after her losses of the World Championship, screaming from the
top of her lungs. The footage then revs back up, in color showing Sienna
spreading her golden wings, posing with the World Championship and other
numerous titles, then seen with her beautiful smile, along with The Truelove
Twins and Laura Steinbeck, then with Chris Cannon…
'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of
style.
You've got that long hair slick back, white t-shirt.
And I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt.
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time….
'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of
style…
Just then the music stops at the scratch of the record. The video distorts one
more time. It shows Sienna after the End of the Year Battle Royal, after Taking
Hold of the Flame, Retribution, running her fingers through her hair, Chris
trying to pull her away, Xiomara jumping in between Sienna and Sasha, when all
you can hear is Sienna’s voice….
“Beauty, Allure and Elegance, this is what I wanted to bring to the SCW, but
you just wouldn’t let me. The People meant something, it was all for them, yet
instead those listening to my voice right now slapped the Angel in the face,
falling from the heavens and her perch only to land in this hell you call a
sport. I am here not for Fashion, or to make this place any less disgusting.
For The People, those in charge and the millions who
broke my wings? Vengeance is mine……
Avenge The Fallen.”
The video stops after showing Sienna fallen on the mat. It goes dark, when
suddenly the rift of “Fallen Angel” by Three Days Grace begins to play, a lone
spotlight centers in the entrance way where Sienna Swann stands with Xiomara
Diaz. She looks out at the crowd as they boo loudly. She just starts to make
her way down to the ring. Xiomara hops
to the ring, waits for Sienna to get on the apron before climbing to the second
rope. Sienna hops over landing on her feet in the ring, Xiomara steps in and
stands by her as Sienna poses, holding her arms up. She looks at the crowd
defiantly before walking across the ring. She demands a microphone.
Sharper: “The Fallen Angel,
the Avenging Angel as she says, will have a date with Jordan Majors in four
nights at Rise to Greatness.”
Knots: “And Majors better be
ready. Sienna Swann is out for blood.”
Sienna is handed one by Phillips and turns back to the middle of the ring. She
looks out at the crowd as they boo her as the music fades out. Sienna brings
the microphone to her mouth and pauses allowing the boos to resound all over.
Sienna just keeps scanning the arena.
Knots: “She’s popular in
Milwaukee!”
Sharper: “That’s one way to
put it.”
Sienna Swann finally begins to
speak.
Sienna: “Boo all you want. You
are in the presence of perfection.”
The crowd boos some more.
Sienna: “I don’t know what
else I need to say to make that clear. Then again, this Sunday, I may be able
to make that exclamation point that I need to make right now…and it will be at
the expense of Jordan Majors!”
The crowd cheers hearing
Majors’ name.
Sienna: “Want to cheer her? Go
for it!”
The crowd cheers some more.
Sienna: “She’s come in and
after being lost for so long, taken under the wing of Bree Lancaster, she had a
place. It was where she should’ve been. To think that
she could be consistently at our level. It’s not my
fault that I’m blunt and honest. That’s just who I am.
Don’t get me wrong…she can have her moments. When she
won the Trios Tournament buy-in…when she and Bree worked together to nearly get
it all done and win the Trios Tournament….she could also deceive everyone into thinking
she could ever match me…lasting over an hour in the Taking Hold of the Flame.
Cute Jordan…”
Sienna shakes her head.
Sienna: “That’s the
problem…you’re just cute. Just like Jake Starr these days. His actions, his
efforts…all cute. Just like his attempt to fight for you a few months ago. When
I put him down…and you had to then prove you were as shady as we all figured.
Having to grab me by the head and driving me to the mat. All because well…I
knew Jake was a bad influence on you. And I’m right.”
The crowd boos.
Sienna: “You now think you’ll
be challenging for the World Championship…that you’re a top
level star. What other lies have your brother and your new friends, the
Helms family, put into your head? You had a family. One that looked out for you,
not just in the ring, but in terms of this sport. You could’ve
had a long career recognizing that you’re NOT at my level. But now…all of that
will be cut short.”
Sienna shakes her head.
Sienna: “You can try and copy
me all you want. I hear people talking about you being the next best thing. People
talked about me replacing Kelcey. I never replaced
someone who was always second to me…the issue for you…you’re
not even ranked. You’re on this Cinderella run and it
all comes to an end. Not just your time at the top…oh no…your career. And all
of this is from one moment…that moment where you turned your back on me, on
Bree, on Jaina…and for what? You get the crowd to
cheer you?! You don’t have to have more awkward family
dinners with your brother. NONE of that matters Jordan when you’re
never going to experience either again after this Sunday. Jake likes winners.
It’s why he tags along with David…when will he turn on him…and as for the rush
of the crowd….[bleep] them.”
The crowd boos loudly as
Sienna looks at the camera. Just then “Nightmare” by Halsey plays as the crowd
cheers. Sienna Swann rolls her eyes and turns as Jordan Majors walks out from
the back, microphone in her hand. She looks down at the ring and starts to head
down.
Sienna: “You may want to stay
up there. I mean, I get that you may want your last walk down this rampway-“
Jordan: “I don’t give a damn what you’re saying because I’m tired of hearing
an unhinged lunatic throwing a tantrum everytime
someone doesn’t bend their knee to you. That’s your
problem with me, right?”
Jordan walks down to the ring.
Jordan: “One thing I share
with my brother, since you’re so sure on blaming everything on him…We have a
rebellious streak.”
Jordan then walks up the steel
steps.
Jordan: “And frankly, Sienna,
if you want to just take me out, I’ll give you the chance now.”
Jordan steps into the ring.
She steps forward.
Jordan: “Come on Sienna…you’re
so sure of it all. And I mean you blame SCW and Sasha for all
of your failings. Why not hurt her? You’re so
sure I’m beneath you, that you could remove a main event and laugh in her face.
Right? Keep talking big, Sienna. I see right through it.”
Sienna: “As I said, this
Sunday, is the exclamation point. Because I will end their so-called next big
thing…and prove there is only one place I belong…challenging for the World
Championship.”
Jordan: “Yeah, yeah yeah…give
the classic you and Bree hope to give. The problem is Sienna, this time, you won’t have someone to pay off. You won’t
be using your feminine wiles on Sasha…or me for that matter. I see how wretched
you really are. Just like how all these fans so through your For the People BS
last year!”
The crowd cheers.
Xiomara may be here, but I’m
ready for that…and well, I’ve taken everything that made you special…IronAngel…I lasted as long as I could and matched you at
Taking Hold of the Flame. Maybe longer?”
Sienna can be seen just
keeping herself composed.
Jordan: “And as for the
Perfect Ten schick, we all know Kelcey
is closer to perfection than you are and you won’t be able to hold onto her kid
forever-“
Sienna then steps up and
Xiomara stops her. Jordan steps up.
Jordan: “Did I hit a sore
spot? Come on! Hit me with the Kiss of an Angel again! End me like you claim.
But just remember I can put you down just as fast…last week for example, when I
hit you with the Cash Out. And there is nothing more I want to do that for you
to hit you with that on the biggest stage of wrestling.”
Sienna steps up.
Sienna: “Try it again! You hit
it for the last time last week!”
Jordan: “We’ll see Sienna.
Because as far as I’m concerned, it’s going to be who
is faster…and with all of the ego you need to carry, I think I have the edge.
And I’m going to love watching the next temper tantrum after Rise to Greatness!”
Sienna steps up and Xiomara
holds her back. Jordan just stands a few feet away.
Sienna: “Let go of me!”
Xiomara: “You’re making a
mistake.”
Jordan waves at them before
turning her back on them again and dropping to the floor. “Nightmare” plays as
the crowd cheers.
Sharper: “Jordan Majors
getting under the skin of Sienna.”
Knots: “She knows how
important this is, but why the hell would you set her off that way. Why would
you bring in her personal life? Nathaniel?”
Sharper: “Again…if you buy
that she’s got a little Jake Starr in her, she’s taking a page from his book.
And she’s ready to fight. And this Sunday, it will be
a war!”
Jordan walks to the back as
Sienna starts to compose herself and tells Xiomara she’s
fine. Xiomara does and Sienna then raises the microphone back to her mouth.
Sienna: “I can’t wait to end
you this Sunday! That WILL be perfect!”
Jordan turns back and looks at
Sienna as she shakes her head and turns to the camera following her.
Jordan: “We’ll see who gets
the last word Sunday…I know she hates to never get the last word in.”
Jordan smirks and turns back
to head to the back as the scene fades out.
COMMERCIALS
We see a shot of Steve Griffin hitting the Decimator on
CHBK from the top rope at the first Rise to Greatness before cutting to see Kelcey Wallace, Lucas Knight and Trinity Street holding the
SCW World Championship from Rise to Greatness 2015, and then cutting to show
the Real Speed getting thrown off a scaffold at Rise to Greatness 2006.
“It’s now time for your Rise to Greatness moment…”
We go back to Rise to Greatness 2018 to the Thunderdome match between Dylan Howell
and Andrew Raynes. Howell turns and looks around and grabs one of the chairs
from earlier.
Sharper: “And now a chair. One of those mangled chairs
from earlier.”
Knots: “Looks like he’s going to use it to do something
more to Raynes. He’s unfolding it.”
Sharper: “Maybe a springboard of some sort. What else can
they do to one another as they’ve put each other
through chairs, through tables. They’re bloodied.”
Knots: “Clearly trying to see if the Thunderdome can cut
through them too!”
He then turns and walks over and unfolds it and places it
a few feet away from the nearby turnbuckle. He then grabs Raynes and Raynes
suddenly swings and nails Howell in the head with the Adrenaline Championship.
Howell falls back and into the chair he just set up. The crowd ohs and Raynes falls back to the corner. He looks at
Howell.
Sharper: “Oh God! The title to the face!”
Knots: “Raynes crafty as ever. Saw it there…”
Sharper: “Now what’s he doing?”
Knots: “He’s giving Howell the title?”
Raynes places the title on the lap of Howell and taps it
as Howell is half out of it.
Raynes: “Hold this for me.”
Raynes then exits to the apron and pulls himself up to
the top rope. He nearly falls off, still in pain from the fall, before looking
at Howell and jumping up, turning in the air and hitting the Make It Rain on
Howell, knocking him hard back to the mat, adding to the impact. The crowd ohs.
Sharper: “Frog splash!”
Knots: “Making it rain in Toronto!”
Sharper: “Double the impact. To the body and then to the
mat!”
Raynes nearly rolls through before pulling himself back
up, grimacing in pain.
1!
2!
3!
Raynes rolls off, grabbing the Adrenaline Title, ripping
it away from Howell as we see Howell was indeed clutching it, as his arm moves
with it before Raynes gets full control. Raynes rolls away as Howell is down on
the mat. The referee walks over and raises Raynes’ arm.
Phillips: “Here is your winner, via pinfall,
and STILL SCW Adrenaline Champion, Andrew Raynes!”
Raynes pulls away and drops to a knee as he then falls to
his hands and knees. The official on the floor opens the Thunderdome as we see
officials starting to file in.
Sharper: “Andrew Raynes outlasting Howell in this one. Even
taunting him at the end.”
Knots: “And Howell wouldn’t have let go, but Raynes made
sure he had one last taste before he took him out for good!”
The Rise to Greatness XVII logo comes up on the screen.
??? vs.
Blake Mason
SCW
Television Championship
The lights go out. A few
moments later, a white spotlight shines at the top of the ramp. In that
spotlight we see a man wearing a robe that "Blake Mason Experience"
embroidered in white. The lights to the rest of the arena come back on, the chorus
to "G.O.A.T" by CF0$ featuring Will
Roush echoes through the loud speaker. Blake Mason still has his back
turned to the camera. Standing behind him is Jaxson Sullivan, wearing a suit,
looking like he is ready to knock someone’s head off.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall and has a fifteen minute time limit and is for the SCW Television
Championship! First, accompanied by Jaxson Sullivan, from Boston,
Massachusetts, he is the SCW Television Champion, Blake Mason!”
Blake heads to the ring at a
methodical pace. Reaching the steel steps, he walks up them, on to the apron,
steps into the ring. Jaxson isn't too far behind. They
reach the center of the ring. Blake turns his back to the main camera. He takes
off his robe, hands it to Jaxson. Blake is shown to be wearing black leather
pants like wrestling tights. He walks over to the nearest corner. By then,
Jaxson is now standing outside the ring, keeping an eye on his
surroundings.
Sharper: “Blake Mason has one
final challenge before Rise to Greatness. Defending the TV Title. He feels
good.”
Knots: “Better than he has in
a bit. He’s come back and has won two titles so, things
are working. But he needs to pivot fast. Josh Hudson awaits him.”
Sharper: “So who is his opponent
going to be?”
The arena fades to black as
the screen lights up and we are treated to an old school movie countdown image.

THE SILVER SCREEN QUEEN IS HERE!!!!
I’m Coming Out by Diana Ross begins to blast all across the speakers and as
that happens, we are able to see Crystal Zdunich
emerging through the backstage curtain and the roaring boos of the crowd are
deafening. Crystal smiles as her grouping of paparazzi gather up in front of
the ring and they snag photo after of the Latina beauty.
Phillips: “His opponent, the
challenger, from Los Angeles, California, she is the Silver Screen Queen, Crystal
Zdunich!”
She walks down the ramp as she
turns her nose up to the fans. Her following of paparazzi meet her as does a
red carpet. She takes in appeal of the cameras smiling as flashes begin to go
off one after another. She then runs up the steps where she walks towards the middle
of the apron. But just then, we hear a roar from the crowd as Holly Adams runs
out from the back.
Sharper: “Crystal Zdunich is going to be challenger. After what we saw
earlier, the irony is not lost.”
Knots: “Erica Eden is Josh Hudson’s
protégé. Zdunich has an issue there. Blake and Josh
meeting.”
Sharper: “And what is she
doing out here? Holly Adams coming out…”
Knots: “To attack Crystal?”
Sharper: “Doesn’t look like
it.”
Holly comes to the ring and
Crystal stops and turns as Blake Mason hands off the title and gets ready to
compete. The crowd boos some as Holly then pulls herself onto the apron. Jaxson
Sullivan starts to walk around.
Holly: “Look, we’re on the
pre-show. We need the world to make sure they pay attention, right?”
Zdunich: “TV Title sounds good,
right?”
Holly: “Okay…okay…”
Holly drops down to the floor.
Zdunich enters. She then steps forward and goes to
pose in the corner, but just then, Holly Adams slides in and runs over to Blake
and kicks him in the ribs. The crowd boos as Blake is a bit surprised by this.
Holly nails him with a forearm shot and then another. The referee calls for the
bell, not to start the match, but to restore order. It sounds several times as Zdunich drops down and Jaxson Sullivan pulls himself onto
the apron. Zdunich seems him and runs over and
dropkicks him in the chest. He falls off and to the barricade. Holly then grabs
Blake out and Zdunich joins her. They hit a double
DDT. Holly then rolls over and gets up.
Sharper: “Holly Adams
attacking Blake Mason…why?!”
Knots: “I don’t know, but the bell
sounding.”
The bell sounds again. Holly
turns and smiles as she looks at Crystal. We then hear a roar from the crowd as
Josh Hudson runs out from the back. The crowd cheers as Hudson runs down and
slides in. Holly rolls to the floor. Zdunich backs
away and exits too. The bell sounds again as Blake rolls over in pain. Hudson
checks on him and then looks at Crystal and Holly. Holly smiles as she dusts
her hands off and walks to the entrance way. Zdunich
remains at ringside.
Zdunich: “I’m ready for my match. Get
the crazy old guy out of the ring!”
The official turns to Phillips
and speaks to him. The crowd continues to cheer for Hudson. Sullivan now is in
the ring too, getting up.
Phillips: “Ladies and
gentlemen, by the rules of the Television Championship, this match has been thrown
out as a result of an attack on the champion before
the match. As a result, still your SCW Television Champion, Blake Mason!”
The crowd cheers as Crystal
turns and looks at the official.
Crystal: “What?!”
Holly turns to the camera and
can be seen saying oops before flipping her hair back and walking to the back.
Crystal Zdunich then turns and starts to head around
the ring. Holly continues to head to the back.
Sharper: “By the letter of the
rules for the TV Championship, done to protect the challenger and champion with
a weekly defense rate, Zdunich and Adams thought
there was a benefit. Zdunich new and Adams just returning
wouldn’t know.”
Knots: “But did Holly know? Did
she just cost Zdunich a shot? Zdunich
is pissed! And is Maria Salvatore is watching, Holly
better run!”
Hudson helps Blake up as Blake
takes his title. He looks at Crystal annoyed before turning to Hudson and
thanking him. Zdunich storms around the ring to the
entrance way before the scene fades to black.
COMMERCIALS
We open up backstage to see a shot of Chris Cannon seated
backwards on a chair, his arms folded over the back of it. He looks down before
looking up at the camera.
Cannon:
“There’s a reason I asked for no interview. I don’t
want any stupid questions about my future. You want the answer….it’s complicated. From runner up in the Taking Hold of the
Flame…to not holding the US Title…but I get a second chance….this
cluster-you-know-what at Rise to Greatness.”
Cannon
scoffs.
Cannon:
“This…along with overlooking my wife in the US Title tournament…this is how I’m
being won over. Half hearted olive branches wrapped
in the same crap.”
Cannon
looks down for a moment.
Cannon:
“Don’t get me wrong. One benefit is that I can get my hands on a lot of people,
some people I hate. Ace Marshall. Cassidy Carter. Cookie Dreams. Christy
Matthews wants revenge against me. She’s welcome to try.
This is going to be a war where we can do anything. Well, I plan to wrap my
fists and think like this as a bar fight. He who stands last, wins. And it will
be a he, and it will be me. And I will be the number
one contender to the SCW US Championship…I don’t care
who holds it. Selena, Kandis, Tommy…they will just be ready for me to beat to
finally hold gold in SCW.”
Cannon
stops again.
Cannon:
“But will I have a contract signed? There will be one…for that US Title match….and
it WILL have my name on it. One way or another. But as for SCW…”
Cannon
stands up.
Cannon:
“Let’s wait and see. Because Rise to Greatness is
about door closing and new ones opening. And that will be the case for me too.”
Cannon
then walks past the camera. The scene cuts away.
Alistaire Allocco
vs. Jay Gold
Rise!!!!
Look deep into his eyes!
Rise!!!!
Look deep into his eyes, that's
where the fire lies!
The spotlights shine forth
from the stage, bathing the entire arena in blinding white lights corresponding
with a verse of “Eyes Like Fire” by Collision of Innocence. A figure stands in
front of the curtains, his arms are extended horizontally, and his legs spread.
His back is turned to the audience. His presence incites a chorus of
cheers from the crowd. As the bright lights starts to dim, you can tell the man
is wearing pure white tights. A blood red sleeveless coat stretching from
his defined torso down to his equally bright white boots. Alistaire
kicks out his leg to turn to face the crowd as the chorus of his theme kicks in.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall and has a fifteen minute time limit! First, from Rochester, New York,
he is Alistaire Allocco!”
Descending on a cloud, For all
the world to see
Dressed in white with strength and majesty
Robe dripping red with eyes like fire
Sword held up high behold the white horse rider
Cries of the martyrs he has heard your voices
Now the day nears they will pay for their choices
Look up until the day and don't
ever be afraid
For vengeance isn't yours, In
time they will face their grave
He begins to walk down the
ramp with his dark eyes staring intently upon the ring before him. He marches
down with purpose, waving and smiling to the children in the crowd. He stops at
the bottom of the ramp for a moment, before launching forward, sliding into the
ring.
Descending on a cloud, For all
the world to see
Dressed in white with strength and majesty
Robe dripping red with eyes like fire
Sword held up high behold the white horse
rider
Once in the ring, he discards
his coat by tossing it to the referee. He’s in the
center of the ring, he’s hops up and down, switching his weight behind his feet
as he stands. As the song begins to fade out, Alistaire
stares at his goal.
Sharper:
“We saw Matt Hodges in action earlier. He got through his match with Damian
Angel. Now Alistaire Allocco faces Jay Gold here.”
Knots:
“I’m sure he’s watching this one closely. He’s been
wanting it for weeks. He’s wanted the even playing field.”
Sharper:
“He’s the one who injured him!”
The lights suddenly turn off in
the arena. Immediately the bigt screen
goes completely bright white, almost blinding. Then the white light
simmers down. The voice of Jay Gold can be heard saying "The old is
about to become the new." Those words also display on the big
screen. A few moments pass before the white background with the
words turns to a solid gold background. "Until The
Day I Die" by Story of the Year begins to play. As the song gets to
the chorus, one gold pyro goes off on each side of the stage. At this
moment Jay Gold appears on the stage and surveys the crowd, genuinely
smiling and nodding. As he hears the crowd's positive response he
begins to head to the ring.
Phillips: “His opponent, from
Albany, New York, he is Jay Gold!”
Once he arrives
he walks up the steel steps and steps into the ring. He again nods
at his surroundings and gives the crowd the thumbs up. They cheer him and
keep going until it is clear that Jay is ready to take
on this latest wrestling match in his career. His music settles as this
happens.
Sharper: “Gold meanwhile will
need to turn his attention to the Wonderland this Sunday. But for now, he’s
hoping he can have a good tune up himself and a match where he doesn’t need to
worry about anything else.”
Knots: “He’s had some run-ins
with Matt Hodges too. So not like he doesn’t know what Alistaire
is going through.”
The bell sounds. Gold and
Allocco circle the ring a bit before locking up in the middle of the ring. They
push back on one another and Allocco drops down and around Gold. He hoists him
up and into a Greco-Roman takedown. Gold hits the mat and Allocco spins around
on Gold’s back into a front face lock. He pulls up as Gold reaches around. He
starts to slowly get up and rolls to his back. He grabs Allocco’s head and
bridges up. Allocco gets up to his feet. Gold then jumps up and backflips over
and behind Allocco. Gold then moves into a side headlock. He pulls back and Alistaire drags him to the ropes and fires him off. Gold
bounces off and Alistaire shoulders him down. Gold
hits the mat. Allocco runs into the ropes. Gold drops down in front him Alistaire and actually gets his
foot. Allocco falls to the mat and Gold rolls over and avoids the leg before
moving to the head and locking in another side headlock.
Sharper: “Both very skilled in
terms of their technical ability and Gold may be doing this intentionally to
let Alistaire try out his chain wrestling and make
sure its at the high level we expect.”
Knots: “That’s all well and
good, but you should be trying to win too!”
Gold pulls back. Alistaire pulls him again to the ropes and fires him off
again. Gold bounces off and Alistaire goes for a hip
toss. He hits it. Gold pushes back on Alistaire as he
goes to grab him. Alistaire rolls through and gets up
and Gold hits an arm drag. Alistaire rolls through.
Gold then grabs him and kicks him in the ribs. He whips him into the ropes. Alistaire bounces off and Gold jumps up and hits a leg
lariat. He goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Allocco kicks out. He rolls
over and Gold grabs the head again and locks in another side headlock. The
crowd applauds a bit. Alistaire starts to get up. He
drags Gold to the ropes and fires him off. Gold bounces off the other side and Alistaire grabs him in a waistlock
on the rebound. Gold elbows his way out of it. Alistaire
falls to the ropes.
Sharper: “Gold fighting here
and making Alistaire work for everything.”
Knots: “Allocco almost seems a
step slower though.”
Sharper: “And that could be
the knee. This is his first time in the ring since Hodges’ attack.”
Gold runs at Allocco and
Allocco lowers his head. Gold goes up and over, but lands on the apron. Allocco
turns and Gold hits a pump kick. Allocco staggers back. Gold then climbs up to
the top rope and dives off with a double axe handle smash. Gold goes for the
pin.
1!
2!
Allocco kicks out. She rolls
over as Gold gets up. He grabs Allocco and pulls him up. He then goes for a
snap suplex. Allocco blocks it. Gold tries again, but
Allocco blocks it and then hoists Gold up with a vertical suplex.
Gold rolls over and gets up. He turns back to Allocco who grabs him and hits a
side belly to belly suplex. He hooks the leg.
1!
2!
Gold kicks out. Both get up
and Allocco hits a dropkick. The crowd cheers.
Sharper: “Allocco picking up
the pace. Getting a couple of suplexes off.”
Knots: “He can pop the hips.
He can plant his feet. So he’s got some stability
there.”
Gold rolls over and moves to
the ropes. Allocco gets up and waits and Gold turns around and Alistaire goes for an exploder suplex.
Gold knees him in the ribs and then forearms him in the jaw. He runs into the
ropes, bouncing off and Alistaire lifts him up and
hits a Samoan drop. Alistaire gets up as Gold turns,
holding his ribs and he turns around. Alistaire kicks
him in the ribs and hits a DDT. He turns and hooks the leg.
1!
2!
Gold kicks out. Alistaire and Jay both roll away and get up and Allocco
grabs Gold. Gold nails him in the ribs with a hard right. Alistaire
steps off and Gold then jumps up and hits a hurricanrana
into a pin.
1!
2!
Alistaire counters into a sunset flip
pin.
1!
2!
Gold kicks out and rolls back.
Both get up and Gold forearms Alistaire in the jaw
with a couple of shot before running into the ropes. He bounces off and Alistaire scoops him up and hits a tilt-a-whirl
backbreaker. Alistaire then winces as he falls
forward.
Sharper: “Great backbreaker,
but maybe short-sighted! Allocco is hurt!”
Knots: “Right on that bad
knee. Just instinct and that’s the problem. You
sometimes need to change habits!”
Alistaire pulls himself up and limps
forward. Gold turns and speaks to the official. The official checks on Alistaire. Alistaire waves him
off. He then grabs Gold and pulls him up before hoisting him up and hitting a
back suplex. He then turns and hooks the leg.
1!
2!
Gold rolls his shoulder up. He
rolls over and gets up and Alistaire pulls himself up
before grabbing Gold. He hooks him up for a vertical suplex,
but Gold knees him in the ribs. Alistaire drops him
and Gold gets free before jumping up and hitting an enziguri
kick. Alistaire falls to a knee. Gold runs into the
ropes. He bounces off and hits a running bulldog. He rolls over and hooks the
leg.
1!
2!
Allocco gets his shoulder up.
Gold rolls over and turns and moves to the corner. He climbs up to the top
rope. Allocco gets up and looks at Gold as Gold dives back and takes him down
with a moonsault into a pin.
1!
2!
Allocco kicks out.
Sharper: “Another nearfall. Gold taking advantage of Alistaire
slowing down again!”
Knots: “Allocco had a good
period, but Gold just in better shape!”
Gold rolls off. He gets up and
grabs Allocco. He pulls him up and sets up for the Golden Moment. Allocco
counters with a shot to the ribs before scooping him up and hitting a sidewalk
slam. He goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Gold rolls his shoulder up. He
rolls over and Allocco rolls away. He gets up and moves to Gold and goes for a
German suplex. Gold elbows out of it. Allocco
staggers back. Gold runs at him and goes for a flying headscissors,
but Allocco throws him off and Gold lands face first into the mat. Gold pops up
and Allocco lunges and nails him with the Sins of the Father.
Sharper: “Allocco seeing the
opportunity and hits the Sins of the Father!”
Knots: “Gold just trying to
keep it going and Allocco created that!”
Allocco rolls Gold over and
hooks the leg.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd cheers. The bell
sounds.
Phillips: “Here is your
winner, via pinfall, Alistaire
Allocco!”
Allocco rolls over and gets
up. He gets to his feet as the official turns and raises his arm. The crowd
cheers. The crowd then starts to roar and boo as we see Matt Hodges limping,
while running, to the ring and rolling in. He gets up and chopblocks
Alistaire’s leg. Alistaire
falls hard and rolls over, holding his leg. Hodges then rolls to the other side
of the ring. He then limps a bit as he walks around.
Sharper: “Allocco wins, but
Hodges! Hodges from behind! A chop block!”
Knots: “Right to the knee! Now
they match again. Hodges is limping hard and Alistaire
Allocco will be too after this!”
Sharper: “Hodges said it would
be a match to determine who was better with one leg in an ass-kicking contest.
We’ll find out that this Sunday if both are cleared!”
Hodges limps around smiling as
the crowd boos. Allocco writhes in pain, holding his leg as the official checks
on him. Hodges continues to walk around the ring, the boos follows him where he
goes as the scene cuts away.
“Ladies and
Gentleman, a partisan message from Ricky James, and the Official Press
Secretary of SCW, Lucy Huckabee Sanders.”
LHS: “Ladies and gentlemen, we
have called yet another EMERGENCY PRESS CONFERENCE.”
The camera pans around to the
crowd of reporters, which has dwindled down to four people, three of whom seem
completely uninterested, while the fourth is a new face - a young blonde woman
looking very eager to ask questions.
LHS: “Shady Sasha has gone too
far. Every week she continues to abuse her power and push her Canadian agenda.
Last week was just another example.”
Ricky: “Fourteen people.
Fourteen people were placed in a match to determine a #1 contender for the
United States Championship. Yet somehow, The Silent Majority was excluded.”
LHS: “Very unfair, Ricky. Very
unfair.”
Ricky: “This is just another
example of a government handout. Shady Sasha is once again rewarding her loser,
lefty friends with title opportunities. UGLY and UNSUCCESSFUL people like
Cookie Dreams and Jay Gold are getting a chance to become champion.”
LHS: “This match will be
rigged more than the DNC.”
Ricky: “Meanwhile, we have
been in SCW for a month and neither of us have received any type of match!”
This draws a reaction from
some of the previously uninterested reporters, but Lucy puts her finger up to
stop them from saying anything.
LHS: “So we are here to
announce that we are officially DEMANDING a match. At this time, we will take
questions.”
The eager young blonde woman
immediately shoots her hand up, and Lucy motions to her to ask.
Reporter: “Ms. Huckabee
Sanders, first let me say I agree that you and Ricky James have been treated
VERY unfairly since arriving in SCW. And I want you to know that I am not like
the rest of the dishonest media here.”
LHS: “Thank you. It is good to
hear that there are still some actual honest journalists out there. But please
continue.”
Reporter: “So with your
announcement today, did you have any particular match or opponent in mind?
Also, will you both be competing?”
LHS: “I will answer your
second question first. My duties as the Official Press Secretary of SCW are
taking much of my time right now. I would like to focus on dedicating the rest
of my time to supporting Ricky James in a managerial role. With that said, I
will hand it over to Ricky to answer your other question.”
Ricky: “Well I would like, no,
I DESERVE to be in the #1 contender match at Rise to Greatness. After all, it
is for a shot at the United States Championship, the most prestigious title in
the world. Unfortunately that match is full of
terrible people. Shady Sasha has thrown some of the worst people in SCW in that
match. Some, I assume, are good people. But the majority are terrible. The
whole thing is yet another conspiracy against beautiful people. Shady Sasha
knows I would win that match and go on to win the United States Title, so she
would never add me to that.”
Reporter: “Well if not that
match, did you have something else in mind?”
Ricky: “I am ready, and have
been ready, to showcase my talents in the ring. I have Lucy Huckabee Sanders by
my side, and together, The Silent Majority will take out these terrible
anti-freedom, anti-American, brainwashed SCW superstars one by one until our
liberties are restored. We are giving Shady Sasha an ultimatum. Put me in a match, or face a lawsuit.”
LHS: “Our rights have been
taken away. Shady Sasha wouldn’t know anything about
having rights, but we do have them in America. Last time I checked,
we are in America. Sasha keeping Ricky James out of action is a violation of
the United States Constitution!”
Three of the reporters groan while the newer reporter up front has been
nodding her head in approval the entire time.
LHS: “Any other questions?”
One of the other reporters
raises his hand, but Lucy shakes her head at him.
LHS: “No. You are fake news.
Are there any other questions from an HONEST reporter?”
The eager reporter’s hand
shoots up again. Lucy signals for her to go ahead.
Reporter: “So how long will
you give Sasha to put Ricky in a match?”
Ricky: “If I am not competing
on the Breakdown after Rise to Greatness, Shady Sasha, her father Alaska, and
all of SCW management will be hearing from our lawyers.”
The three reporters in the
back roll their eyes as the other reporter continues to blindly nod in
agreement with anything Lucy and Ricky say.
LHS: “And that is a threat!
And with that,, I am Lucy Huckabee Sanders, the
Official Press Secretary of SCW...”
Ricky: “And I am Ricky James.”
Together: “For a
better...SCW.”
The camera slowly focuses in
on Lucy and Ricky, an American flag in the background.
LUCY HUCKABEE SANDERS. RICKY
JAMES. FOR A BETTER SCW.

Breakdown
returns as we see Asher Hayes standing with Cid Turner backstage with Jessica
Winters.
Jessica:
“Welcome back to Breakdown. Jessica Winters here with Asher Hayes and Cid Turner
and we are days away from Rise to Greatness. Asher, I’ll turn to you in a
moment, but Cid, I should talk to you first.”
Cid: “Oh…okay.”
Cid
goes to start talking.
Jessica:
“No, Cid. I wanted to ask a question.”
Cid: “Oh…well
I-“
Asher:
“Dude, it’s just an interview. You’ve been messed up
about everything since returning. You know how to do this.”
Cid: “I
am the King of America!”
Asher
turns away and shakes his head, chuckling.
Asher:
“Dude…that’s a long time ago.”
Cid: “Oh
yeah, well…”
Jessica:
“I’ll just cut in. Cid, last week, Asher pointed out something significant. You
were in the ring for the first time and you seemed fine. You also had your
confidence back. It’s been weird back and forth. You don’t look like Cid, but you’re Cid. Where have you been?
What happened? You even have been low key and that’s
not really your style. You’re subsumed.”
Cid: “Big
word, huh…”
Jessica:
“Just…there are a lot of questions and you’re facing one of the top teams in
SCW history this Sunday. A team you and Asher have antagonized and it’s great you’ve got the confidence gradually returning,
but now I’m not sure. This has just been an odd interview.”
Cid: “Well…uh…you
see.”
Asher:
“Jessica…we’re fine. We’re ready for whatever Dark
Fantasy wants to throw at all. They’re the one’s who get their panties in a bunch because I was
honest. And Cid happened to be there. Now he had a return to the ring, and it’s been a while, but he’s going to be fine. We’ve been
working on getting him there and the A/C Unit is going to cool this whole thing
off!”
Jessica:
“A/C Unit?”
Asher:
“Yeah…clever huh?”
Cid
nods, smiling.
Cid: “Totally.”
Asher:
“Come on…get riled up Cid. It’s Rise to Greatness in a
few days! Your return to the ring proper! You’re going
to go out there and do what you do! And with me…and we’re going to tell Dark
Fantasy that they’re going to have to get off their asses
and earn a few things around here.”
Cid: “Yeah….well…”
Asher
then turns as Cid does as well. Ravyn Taylor and
Christy Matthews come into view.
Ravyn: “It’s
almost heartwarming to see Cid so down to earth. Brings a tear to my eye.”
Asher
looks up as Christy nods.
Ravyn: “But
do you have more clichés? Unserious names? You two should understand that we
plan to treat you like a sacrifice. You want us to earn it…we will earn it by immediately
reminding you and everyone else the dominance of Dark Fantasy.”
Asher:
“Just like you did against the Golden Boys? I mean Adam is more mouth than
wrestler at this point.”
Syren: “Screw
this!”
Syren is
heard off camera and Jessica Winters moves out of the way as Syren comes into screen. Ravyn
and Christy head to Hayes who kicks Christy in the ribs and grabs Ravyn, attacking her. Syren goes to
throw a hard right to Cid, but as if out of instinct, he blocks it and kicks
her in the ribs and throws into the backdrop. Cid turns and grabs Ravyn and pulls her away, but as Hayes goes to deal with
Christy, Cid steps out and right into a superkick from CHBK! The crowd ohs and boos.
Sharper:
“Cid and Hayes fighting off Infamous!”
Knots:
“Syren setting it up and oh!”
Sharper:
“CHBK from the side. Getting his shot in!”
Cid
hits the mat and Syren turns around and runs over and
stomps away on Cid Turner. The crowd boos loudly as Cid covers up.
Sharper:
“They’ve finally got Cid! They’ve finally got him and are attacking him!”
Knots:
“Hayes can’t get to him. Christy and Ravyn have him!”
CHBK
and Syren both continue to stomp away as Hayes tries
to pull Ravyn off and then gets forearms from Christy
before kneeing her in the ribs. Ravyn comes over and kicks
him in the ribs and he falls over, reaching for Cid. The crowd boos as now
Christy and Ravyn stomp away on Hayes too. Officials
and security then run into the room to break it all up. CHBK steps away as Syren does too. Cid coughs as he rolls over. Ravyn and Christy are pulled away as Hayes writhes in pain
too.
Sharper:
“An attack backstage…right on brand for Infamous.”
Knots:
“And worst yet…this was just crude. They knew it. They intended it. That’s a
slap in the face to them too!”
Sharper:
“No grand plan. Just straightforward attack. Another layer of disrespect and
worst of all, what’s this going to do to the confidence of Cid Turner and can Asher Hayes be ready to do more himself if he
has to!”
The
boos continue to resound.
“The Old
Me” by Memphis May Fire plays as the Breakdown logo comes up on the screen. A
still of Tommy Valentine vs. Jake Starr follows.
Sharper:
“From that assault, to a personal matter. Jake Starr will face Tommy Valentine
next.”
Knots:
“The Brotherhood tour ends for Tommy. Our main event!”
The scene
fades to black.
COMMERCIALS
Tommy
Valentine vs. Jake Starr
The arena's lights cut out
completely, plunging the whole room into darkness for several seconds before
the screens light up to display four words.
HEART FILLED WITH HATE
The screens show static for a few seconds before going dark once more. The
black screen starts to pulse now like a heartbeat and on each pulse that
reverberates round the arena, a shot of Thomas in various poses is shown before
reverting to the words on screen until the next pulse that sounds like a bass
drum beat with increasing volume until a final shot of him holding the SCW
Title aloft after winning the match at Taking Hold Of The Flame is Shown and
remains until two green fireworks shoot from the rafters and explode on the
ramp. The explosion drifts across the ramp before the beginning chords to
"Cut The Cord" by Shinedown, hits.
A shot of "Thorn" going for the Swanton from the top of a chamber pod
at Under Attack 2009 is shown in slow motion as he misses it and hits nothing
but canvas. A shot now of him hitting the Socially Unacceptable Moonsault stomp from the top rope onto Justin Davis is
shown, the impact punctuated by the last word of the verse before a shadowed
figure can be seen standing in front of the curtain at the top of the ramp.
"FREE-DOM LALALALA FREE-DOM FOLLOW ME!"
As the last word echoes, the lights start to strobe again briefly as the song
reverberates throughout the arena now, causing the fans to start jeering, the
heat almost palpable in the air.
The lights finally flicker back on and Thomas Valentine, holding the SCW World
Tag Team Championship, can now be seen on top of the arena's ramp as he looks
out into the audience that are now booing loudly, chanting obscenities in some
cases. He stops and smiles a little before spinning around away from the fans
and holding his arms outwards with his palms upwards, he then stops and then
shakes his head before smirking and shrugging. Fireworks then shoot out at the
top of the ramp in a burst before Thomas starts walking down to the ring.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall, has a thirty minute time limit and is your main event of the evening.
First, on his way to the ring, from Santa Barbara, California, he is one half
of the SCW World Tag Team Champions, he is Tommy Valentine!”
As he walks past the barrier
he looks out into the crowds and goes to high five a few fans and moves his
hand at the last second, instead running it through his hair and chuckling
before moving on down the ramp, the smirk still on his face before he slides
underneath the ropes and immediately runs to the corner and climbs the
turnbuckle, simply nodding before looking at all the fans in the crowd with
undisguised disgust. Thomas jumps down and does the same to all the
turnbuckles, soaking in the disapproval of the fans before standing still in
the centre, cranking his neck. He then stands motionless in the corner, before
waiting for his opponent. He places his title in his corner.
Sharper: “Tommy Valentine
could make a statement here, growing through his other former tag partner, in
Jake Starr.”
Knots: “He beat David Helms.
He can target David all he wants. He’s gone scorched earth on his friendships
too.”
Sharper: “And just think, a
year ago, Tommy and David were inducting Jake Starr into the hall of fame.”
The opening chords of "Sound of Madness" by Shinedown begin to echo
throughout the stadium. With each opening drum beat, the logo of the Social
Misfits flashes on the jumbotron...
Yeah, I get it you're an outcast
Always under attack always coming in last
Bringing up the past no one owes you anything
I think you need a shotgun blast a kick in the ass
So paranoid
WATCH YOUR BACK!
With those words, an explosion or pyro shoots high into the air from the stage
and in front of the stage in another wall of sparks. Lights start to circle the
arena as several spotlights turn to the stage. Jake Starr walks out from the
back and looks around. He just smiles and nods. He surveys the crowd, feeling
their energy and absorbing it all in. His nameplate comes up as Jake Starr
starts to head down to the ring.
Phillips: “His opponent, from
Des Moines, Iowa, he is the Only Social Misfit Remaining, Jake Starr!”
He makes his way down the
rampway before going to the guardrail and fist bumping a few fans and then
going to the other side before doing the same.
The crowd cheers as Starr runs over to the ring and jumps up onto the apron. He
steps into the ring. He immediately makes his way to the far corner, climbing
to the top rope. As the chorus hits, a spotlights
illuminate Jake and he simply stands there looking around at the fans with a
smirk on his face. He points at himself, and ultimately yells the words
"I'M NOT DEAD YET!" He looks around, continuing to soak up the energy
from the crowd before beating on his chest twice, and raises his "Misfit
Revolution Fist" high into the air, a gesture mimicked by many fans in the
crowd who have been supporters over the years. After this, he goes camera side
and climbs on the middle rope raising his arm one more time. He looks around
before hopping down and walking around the ring.
Sharper: “Starr to face Tommy
tonight. Both these two have big nights on Sunday. Starr will face Aubrianna Powers and Gavin Taylor for an Adrenaline
Championship shot.”
Knots: “And Tommy Valentine
could, with Kandis, get past Frozen Hell and maybe earn more gold. The US Title
on the line, along with the Tag Titles!”
Sharper: “But tonight, it’s a
former friendship unfurling.”
The
bell sounds and Tommy smirks at Jake as Jake shakes his head.
Tommy:
“What’s wrong? Don’t like how David and I ended it…well…given that you’ve
turned on me in the past, why not make this easy?”
Tommy
runs at Jake. Jake ducks and Tommy attempts a clothesline. He stops and turns
and Jake nails him with a hard right and then another and then grabs him and
runs him face first into the top turnbuckle. Tommy turns and Starr kicks him in
the ribs before nailing him with a chop. The crowd woos. Starr then chops him
again. More woos. Tommy then grabs him and spins him into the corner. He goes
for a hard right, but Starr ducks and spins around him again. Tommy turns and
Starr kicks him in the ribs. He whips him across. Starr runs after and
clotheslines him when he hits. Tommy staggers out and Starr walks out with him
and then hits a running bulldog. Valentine rolls over and Starr goes for the
pin.

Knots:
“Big time. Starr figured he’d come in aggressive and he’s turned that all
around!”
Tommy
grabs at the ropes and turns and Starr runs at him and clotheslines him over

and into the ring and Tommy turns and stomps him in the back. The crowd boos
more.
Sharper:
“Tommy taking the cheap shot. Going for the eyes.”
Knots:
“But then doing the smart thing. He forced Starr to get back in and make a
mistake. Now he’s going to town, stomping away on his
back.”
Tommy
stomps him a few more times before grabbing Starr and pulling him up. He then scoop slams him down. He jumps up and hits a double leg drop
to the chest of Starr before going for the pin.

Sharper:
“Tommy with a great move, driving Starr into the mat. Only two though.”
Knots:
“And he aint stopping.”
Starr
rolls over and Tommy grabs him, bringing him up to a kneeling position. He then
clubs him in the back of the head before grabbing him and driving him face
first into the mat again. Tommy then steps forward and exits to the apron. He
climbs up to the top rope. The crowd boos. Starr starts to get up again and
Tommy dives forward with a dive, but Starr nails him in the ribs. Tommy hits
the mat and rolls forward, holding his stomach in pain. He gets up and turns
and Starr hits a dropkick. Tommy hits the mat and turns and runs at Starr and
Starr hits a back drop. Tommy rolls over again and

Starr turns and moves to the corner. He springboards to the top rope and turns
and Tommy gets up only for Starr to hit a crossbody into a pin.

Tommy
kicks out. Starr rolls over and gets up and Tommy does too
and Starr grabs his head and runs up the corner and hits a tornado DDT.
Sharper:
“Starr got his opening. Grabbing his head and running up the corner! Tornado
DDT!”
Knots:
“And Tommy planted. Starr looking to go up top again!”
Starr
turns and goes to the corner. He springboards to the top rope. This time,
though, he elects to dive off with a guillotine leg drop. The crowd ohs. He turns and hooks the leg.

Tommy
gets his shoulder up. Tommy rolls over and Starr turns and grabs him. He pulls
him up and Tommy then suddenly slips behind him, shoving him into the corner,
chest first. Starr staggers back and Tommy jumps up and hits the Judas
Syndrome. Starr rolls over, arching his back in pain.
Sharper:
“Judas Syndrome!”
Knots:
“Fitting name, huh?”
Sharper:
“And Starr in a lot of pain!”
Starr
holds his lower back and turns and Tommy grabs him and
pulls him up before hitting the Petal of Woe. The crowd ohs
and Tommy rolls him over and hooks the leg.

Starr
shoots his shoulder up. Tommy rolls off and looks around. He then starts to get
up and shakes his head. He grabs Starr and drags him up before Starr suddenly

bounces off and Starr clotheslines him down. He then spins around as Tommy
starts to get up and Starr runs at Tommy, but Tommy ducks and Starr hits the
ropes. Tommy does too, and he bounces off and hits the Knee Deep. The crowd
boos. Tommy goes for the pin.
1!
2!
3!
The
crowd boos as Tommy Valentine rolls off. He then smiles as he gets to his feet.
He then turns to Starr who holds his jaw.
Phillips:
“Here is your winner, via pinfall, Tommy Valentine!”
Knots:
“He’s beaten his former best friends. Now he’s hoping to go to Rise to
Greatness to retain the Tag Team Championship with Kandis!”
Sharper:
“He’s now just standing over Jake Starr. The Knee Deep secured the win.”
Tommy
looks at Starr before turning and grabbing the World Tag Team Championship
belt. As he does, we then see Gavin Taylor and Aubrianna
Powers heading down from the back, both holding their SCW Mayhem Tag Team
Championship belts. They run down and slides into the ring. Tommy looks at them
as Gavin walks over to Tommy. Tommy holds his hand up as Aubrianna
runs over and stomps away on Jake.
Gavin:
“Yo…I know we’ve not always been okay-“
Tommy:
“Have at him, man.”
Tommy
drops down to the floor. He then looks in the ring as Gavin shrugs and turns
and joins Aubrianna in attacking Starr. The crowd
boos loudly as Tommy backs away.
Sharper:
“Aubrianna Powers and Gavin Taylor! Now attacking
Jake Starr!”
Knots:
“Tommy is letting them. And he and Kandis hate Gavin!”
Sharper:
“Shows how Tommy is carrying himself. Not just that, he doesn’t want to get his
hands further dirty before this Sunday!”
Tommy
looks on as Gavin and Aubrianna Powers stomp away on
Jake. Jake covers up as the crowd boos some more. A few moments pass of this onslaughter before Selena Frost and Regan Street run out
from the back. The crowd cheers as they run down to the ring. Tommy looks on,
watching them, ready to run, but they both slide into the ring. Tommy makes his
way around to the entrance way as Selena nails Aubrianna
with a couple of hard rights and throws her into the corner.
Sharper:
“One team was watching! The number one contenders!
Frozen Hell!”
Knots:
“And they’ll help Jake!”
Gavin
turns and swings at Regan. Regan ducks and Gavin stops at the corner. Regan
then backs up and dropkicks Gavin in the jaw, knocking him up and over the top
rope to the floor. The crowd roars. Selena turns to Regan as she gets up and
whips Aubrianna out of the corner. Aubrianna yells out for her to stop, but Regan hoists her
up onto his shoulders before Selena turns and jumps to the middle rope and
dives back as Regan turns and they hit the Cold Day in Hell. Gavin reaches for
the ring to get back in, but then backs up a bit. He looks around before
turning around, realizing Tommy was there, but Tommy is already walking to the
back. Regan and Selena get up as they turn to the ropes and see Tommy leaving
before Selena goes over to Jake.
Sharper:
“The Cold Day in Hell on Aubrianna Powers as Gavin
Taylor just watches from the floor. Tommy Valentine leaving. But Frozen Hell
not going to let this go farther!”
Knots:
“Helping Jake out. Tommy burning another bridge. But he’s Tag Team Champion!”
Sharper:
“For how much longer because Frozen Hell are going to look to do all they can
this Sunday to win those titles.”
Knots:
“And retain the US Title and if they don’t, no rematches!”
Regan
watches Tommy as Selena helps Jake up and the scene cuts away.
Jason
Helms is seen standing by his locker room door, something in his hand. Amy Chastaine heads over to him.
Amy: “Hey…you
know you can go in those?”
Jason:
“I don’t know if I want to.”
Amy: “It’s
a common locker room. What’s the worst-“
Jason
holds up a scroll.
Amy: “Oh…that
guy. Who fought a demon? Of his own?”
Jason:
“Probably someone he paid off. Then again, he could have people locked in a
basement. The guy tried to set me on fire. At this point, anything is on the
table. All thanks to these damn migraines.”
Amy: “They’ve
gotten better.”
Jason:
“Yeah…just-“
Amy: “Haven’t
you noticed where they come from. When they’re the
worst? Sienna say you’d fail people. I’m intentionally
being vague, not to set you off.”
Jason:
“Yeah…Giovanni…calling me a judas and now betrayal makes me-“
Jason
winces a bit.
Amy: “Some
hypno stuff. Look, you need some help there, but it’s not from this guy. He’s claiming you have demons-“
Jason:
“Let’s just see this note.”
Jason
unfurls it and chuckles.
Jason:
“You still have the demon inside of you. I want to beat it out of you. Let him
loose at Rise to Greatness. I will take care of it.”
Jason
chuckles again.
Amy: “At
least he’s direct.
Jason:
“At least I can fight a guy who nearly set me on fire. He won’t help me with
the migraines but-“
Jason opens
the door and we then hear growling and roaring inside. Jason closes the door.
Amy: “Was
that…”
Jason:
“I think more of his demons to help unleash the demon…or some crap…”
Amy: “How
about I get Kelsai to talk to Blake about letting you
into his luxury suite for the night.”
Jason:
“Yeah…probably for the best.”
Amy
and Jason start to head off before Jason stops and runs over and quickly pounds
on the door a lot. A thud can be heard into the door from the other side as
Jason laughs and walks off as the scene fades to black.

Breakdown
returns as we see Aubrianna Powers walking backstage,
holding the back of her head.
Aubrianna: “Gavin!”
Aubrianna
winces as she continues to head down the hallway before speaking more to
herself.
Aubrianna: “Where
did he go?”
Aubrianna
continues to head down the hallway before getting a bit more animated.
Aubrianna: “Most
Valuable Friend?! Come on! Where are you? Just want to make sure what happened
out there doesn’t happened again. It’s
my first Rise to Greatness! SCW needs it to be amazing!”
Aubrianna
continues to walk down the hallway before the scene changes.
In
another part of the backstage area we see Tommy Valentine smirking as he walks
over to Kandis, holding the SCW World Tag Team Championship.
Tommy:
“Dropped him and Regan and Selena get their hero moment.”
Kandis:
“Probably hoping you’d be stupid enough to just stand there. They better try
harder.”
Tommy:
“Won’t matter…it’s their last good moment this week.”
Kandis:
“No Tag Champs for Regan…no Supreme Championship for Regan…and no more US Title
for Selena…I like it.”
Tommy:
“Seems fair…Regan took my best friend from me. We’ll take everything from them.”
Kandis:
“Sounds like we may need to prepare ourselves for a great weekend then.”
Tommy:
“Sounds like a plan.”
Tommy wraps
his arm around Kandis before Kandis stops him.
Kandis:
“Working with Gavin won’t be a habit?”
Tommy:
“God no…I was hoping Regan and Selena would kick his ass better than they did.”
Kandis:
“All the more reason I’m looking forward to this Sunday. I can add that to the list
of reasons to beat them. Letting Gavin off…”
Kandis
shakes her head as they walk off.
We open up at the announce table to see Adam Sharper and Jonathan
Knots.
Sharper:
“The Tag Team Champions seem pretty confidence. Aubrianna
Powers, not so much.”
Knots:
“Big weekend coming up. You want to be at the best. Frozen Hell sending a message,
but it doesn’t seem to have rattled the champions.”
Sharper:
“We’ll see what happens, because folks, it’s here. This week, Rise to Greatness
XVII!”
“Instant
History” by Biffy Clyro plays throughout the arena as the SCW Rise to Greatness
logo comes up on the screen. We then see stills of each of the matches come up
afterward.
Frozen Hell vs. The Jackass and
Big Ass Connection
SCW World Tag Team Championship
SCW United States Championship
If Frozen Hell loses, they cannot
challenges for the Tag Team Championship until the
Connection loses them
Sharper:
“This personal fight has so many layers. The personal hatred between the two
teams. Regan Street’s desire to finally become a Supreme Champion. Selena
Frost’s US Championship.”
Knots:
“Kandis is already picturing herself as a double champion. Tommy Valentine is
looking as good as ever. But as we’ve seen Frozen Hell
looks damn good too. This is all bets are off. Put up or shut up!”
Jake Starr vs. Gavin Taylor vs. Aubrianna Powers
Number One Contendership
for the SCW Adrenaline Championship
Sharper:
“Aubrianna Powers and Gavin Taylor want gold. Jake
Starr knows he’ll only have so many more
opportunities, but Taylor and Powers, we saw some tension tonight. Will that
carry over? Will they work together? Or will they want their own opportunity?”
Knots:
“We’ll find out, but egos never go well together and
Taylor and Powers have big ones. Starr has one too!”
Jason Helms vs. Subarashi
Sharper:
“Jason Helms has a demon inside of him or so Subarashi
claims. Now they’re facing as Subarashi wants to face
Jason Helms’ demon.”
Knots:
“I don’t know about the demon, but Subarashi did try
to set him on fire, because of those headaches. This could be an interesting
one.”
The Brawl to Settle It All
Number One Contendership
for the SCW United States Championship
Sharper:
“A whole bunch of people in this one. US Title shot on the line. One fall to a
finish and anything goes.”
Knots:
“You have two executioners, a dancing bear, a deviant couple, a masked
madwoman, a hall of famer, someone who wants to let love in, and two pissed off
veterans who feel they should deserve better. Well, add a title shot in all
that and this is going to be nuts!”

vs. Shilo Valiant
Sharper:
“Rise to Greatness has been Shilo Valiant’s
domain in the past. Aaron Blackbourne turned that
around, but now Shilo is daring him to paint a
masterpiece with him.”
Knots:
“Mind games all over, but I said it earlier. Blackbourne
needs to get over that hump. Can he finally get past it, and defeat Shilo Valiant after over half a year of torment?”
Josh Hudson vs. Blake Mason
Sharper:
“Two veterans meeting in the ring. They’ve had long
paths here. It’s gone from competitive, to a bit
personal, to back to competitive. But these two both know the importance of the
grand stage.”
Knots:
“And both want the win. They’ve been supporting each
other and others. Hudson wants Blake at his best and vice-versa. And Blake may
finally have had it all click. This is my sleeper match of the night!”
Glory Braddock vs. Peyton Rice
SCW Adrenaline Championship
Sharper:
“Glory Braddock feels Peyton Rice hasn’t been respecting her and now will be
looking to take her Adrenaline Championship.”
Knots:
“Braddock is as dangerous as they come and if this was
earlier this year, I’d be worried for Rice. But Rice has got things going her
way. Braddock may be regret picking this fight.”
Matt Hodges vs. Alistaire Allocco
Sharper:
“Both have leg injuries and we’re told that both have been checked out tonight.
Hodges taking one last cheap shot earlier.”
Knots:
“Who’s going to win in a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest match? Who
knows, but both have bad wheels. We’ll see how good they are, but also what
they know with both having clear targets on their bad legs!”
Dark Fantasy vs. Cid Turner &
Asher Hayes
Sharper:
“Cid Turner will return-“
Knots:
“If he’s okay!”
Sharper:
“True. Dark Fantasy with an attack earlier. That suggests they see him as a threat
no matter their veneer of confidence. Asher Hayes will stand up with Cid
Turner. It all started about respect, but now, it’s about someone standing up
to the tactics of Infamous!”
Owen Cruze
vs. Giovanni Aries
Knots:
“Hey Gio! You may have done the stupid thing. Owen Cruze
is ready to face you!”
Sharper:
“Giovanni Aries has raised the bar in his attack on what he calls the Lizard
Kingdom. Mr. D, Kelcey Wallace, and then going after
the psyche of Owen Cruze.”
Knots:
“But Owen Cruze knows what he has to do. He has to
beat Giovanni Aries and show him the futility of his fight!”
Jordan Majors vs. Sienna Swann
Sharper:
“Jordan Majors has the biggest match of her SCW career. Against Sienna Swann,
who is looking to as she said, end her.”
Knots:
“Sienna Swann is not all there anymore. And Jordan Majors turned on her,
humiliated her, and now Sienna sees her as trying to usurp her. Sienna is going
to try and stop it, but Majors, she hits the Cash Out…oh yeah!”
David Helms vs. Bree Lancaster
SCW World Championship
Sharper:
“And then the World Championship, it will be on the line. David Helms looks to
continue his amazing return, but he faces a World Champion in Bree Lancaster
who is at her highest peak in SCW too.”
Knots:
“Bree Lancaster is counting on last week, when she speared him to win that six person tag, to get David Helms off his game. But David
Helms is a veteran. He’ll know how to bounce back. He
better!”
Sharper:
“Both headlining Rise to Greatness for the first time ever. It’s sure to be a
classic.”
The
Rise to Greatness logo comes up on the screen followed by the logos for the
Pre-Show and the Hall of Fame.
Sharper:
“But the night before, SCW has plenty for you. First, from Fan Fest, you’ll see
the Pre-Show where the Golden Boys will face Las Bandidas
de Gata Negra and Ridley Ellis will face Konrad RAab.”
Knots:
“And after that, the Hall of Fame, we induct the Class of 2020!”
Sharper:
“Amy Chastaine, Christy Matthews, Lenne
Perez and Lucas Knight. It’s Rise to Greatness
weekend. And then the big show, Rise to Greatness XVII, starts live, with our preview show, at 6 p.m. ET, live from
Minneapolis!”
Knots:
“Can’t wait!”
The
logo remains on the screen.
“The
Old Me” by Memphis May Fire plays as the Breakdown logo comes up on the screen.
We then see a still of David Helms and Bree Lancaster.
Sharper:
“Folks, we’re almost done tonight, but one big face to face to come. Bree
Lancaster and David Helms, the two parties involved in the World Championship
match. They’ll meet face to face, here next, on Breakdown!”
The
scene fades to black.
COMMERCIALS
Breakdown
returns as we see Sasha standing in the middle of the ring, a microphone in her
hand.
Sasha:
“Ladies and gentlemen, this Sunday, Rise to Greatness XVII comes to you live
from Minneapolis, Minnesota and it will be headlined by the SCW World
Championship match, where Bree Lancaster will defend against David Helms.”
The
crowd cheers.
Sasha:
“It’s a moment competitors dream of, to main event Rise to Greatness and this
year, two individuals will do it for the first time. Ladies and gentlemen,
first, please welcome the challenger, the Last Shadow of Hope, David Helms!”
The
crowd cheers some more before the arena's lights cut and the room falls into
complete darkness as a buzz spreads through the crowd, the screens suddenly
lighting up with one single solitary word...
"BANG!"
As the crowd react, the entire stage lights up with a brilliant white light and
the opening riff of an SCW remixed version of "All I Want" by A Day
To Remember hits the pa system. The crowd erupt into cheers again as they spot
the silhouette of David Helms standing there, his arms held aloft and his hands
throwing the Self High Five, all framed by the brilliant white light behind
him.
“ALL I WANT IS A PLACE TO CALL MY OWN
TO MEND THE HEARTS OF EVERYONE WHO FEELS ALONE
WOAH; YOU KNOW TO KEEP YOUR HOPES UP HIGH
BUT YOU HEAD DOWN LOW!”
The intro gives way to the chorus and the lyrics of said chorus flash up on the
screen as Helms suddenly jumps into the air and breaks his hands apart,
pyrotechnics exploding on either side of the stage as he lands and the house
lights raise again as the curtains part and Lucas Knight walks out onto the
stage to join Helms there. Helms grins at the fans, soaking up the cheers
before suddenly bolting towards the ring, leaving Lucas to head down after him.
Helms slides in and looks around as he turns to Sasha. Sasha nods before Helms
goes to the corner. He looks around. He hops down and is handed a microphone by
Jason Phillips.
Sharper: “David Helms won the
SCW Taking Hold of the Flame to be here. Last eliminating Chris Cannon and
Sienna Swann.”
Knots: “Think of that…he could
go through the entire Beauty Factory to win the title this Sunday if he beats
Bree Lancaster.”
Helms turns back to the middle
of the ring as Lucas Knight has now entered and joins David.
Sasha: “David…the floor is
yours.”
David smirks as he looks
around. The crowd cheers as David takes a moment.
David: “Hard to believe that
I’m knocking out all of the remaining things on my wrestling bucket list since
I returned…officially…in January. Won the Trios Tournament. Won Taking Hold of
the Flame. Main eventing Rise to Greatness….and maybe winning it…”
David pauses.
David: “Bree’s going to have
something to say about it. Lord knows she’ll have something to say about last
week-“
Before David can continue, the
lights dim as a voice backed by piano music fill the arena.
{That's the price you pay.... Leave behind your heartache, cast away
Just another product of today.... Rather be the hunter than the prey
And you're standing on the edge, face up... 'cause
you're a NATURAL}
As the heavy music of “Natural” by Imagine Dragons kicks in the lights come
back up and Bree Lancaster is standing on the stage, her arms spread wide, the World
Championship belt around her waist. Bree looks up as white sparks shower down behind
her from the top of the set to the stage. Scott Burnside appears behind her.
The crowd boos heavily. They head to the ring as David looks at the entrance
way. Sasha turns to the entrance way as Bree and Scott walk down to the ring.
Sharper: “And now the World
Champion. Not going to wait it seems.”
Knots: “What Jordan said about
Sienna earlier could stand for her…she wants the last word. She wants the
spotlight. And she’s World Champion.”
Bree Lancaster and Scott
Burnside settle at the ring and Bree walks up the steel steps. She then steps
along the apron and enters the ring. She turns to Sasha and says something to
her before looking at the microphone. Sasha hands her it. Bree turns to David
and then looks at Sasha.
Bree: “Since you decided to
allow this to continue without me out here, I figured I’d at least cut the
unnecessary hope speech and cut to the point. We don’t
need to hear about David Helms having this great story. We don’t
need to hear about how he hates my attitude. We just need to remember that
David Helms knows that this Sunday, there won’t be another bucket list moment.”
The crowd boos.
Bree: “Or do I have to spell
it out for you, David? I know you’re experienced, but
it’s clear you forget a few things…like how your best days are behind you.
That’s why you need to rely on cheap shots like the Wake Up
Call when I was just standing by Dom, YOUR BROTHER…and you needed to make it
about you.”
Helms just chuckles and shakes
his head.
Bree: “Because you’re
desperate. Yeah, you got lucky! Won the Taking Hold of the Flame. We all know
it should be me standing here across from Sienna Swann or Chris Cannon, but
instead, your fight or flight instinct kicked in and you got lucky. That luck
has RUN OUT. Want proof?”
Bree smirks. David nods, placing
his hand to his chin.
Bree: “You win Taking Hold of
the Flame….but then…you face your former best friend
and Tommy beats you. And even if you want to blame me, go ahead. Blame me. He
won based on the rules. Then last week, you had your chance to make a
statement…not only did you attack me for no reason. I pinned you in the middle
of this ring. You know that you can’t beat me. And I’ve been saying it for weeks, David…”
The crowd boos.
Bree: “…you’ve been failing
everyone else. I think we know why…you were just getting ready to fail
yourself.”
The crowd boos.
Bree: “This is Rise to
Greatness. The World Title on the line…MY World Title. And David, you’re not beating me. And instead, all of
this hype for this moment, it’s going to be all for not because as I have so
many times, I will stand over you again celebrating as I hold this title!”
Bree taps the World
Championship. David steps forward.
David: “You done?”
Bree smirks.
Bree: “Why? Sick of hearing
the truth?”
David: “No. Because I know you
thrive on the spotlight so much that you’ll do anything to stay in it. Why you couldn’t wait your turn to come out here? I asked Sasha if she’d give me the floor first, knowing you’d traipse out
here because you would feel slighted. Just like you needed to be by Dom’s side,
especially when Spirit was named the host, nice touch, even though her head is
so far up Sienna’s ass, there’s a reason she’s been off for months.”
David pauses.
David: “Just like you’ve been
spinning this narrative for months, trying to find a way to get into my head.
Yeah, Tommy beat me. Yeah, you pinned me last week. And I could stand here and
say in both cases, you needed to attack me from behind. It doesn’t
matter because at Rise to Greatness, we all know, you’ll do anything to win.
It’s why you conveniently overlook the fact that you’d not have even been
holding that title if Syren didn’t gift it to you.”
The crowd boos as Bree just
rolls her eyes.
David: “The cruel truth in all
of this is despite all of that, you showed at Taking Hold of the Flame and at
Fatal Fortunes that you are a legitimate champion. You use the rules to your
advantage. The problem for you is that I know all of them, I’ve
broken all of them, and I did it before it was cool. And now, Tommy may have a
win over me…you may hold a win over me…I’m some place
no one thought I would be. I was retired a year ago. Now I’m main eventing Rise
to Greatness.”
Bree: “So what? You’re going
to say you have nothing to lose?”
David: “I have everything to
lose. I had everything to lose the moment I chose to get back into this ring. I
had the sign off from the wrestling business and since coming back, I’ve seen
all that I worked for get thrown into a blender for a whole bunch of reasons
and one thing I know for sure…I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I wouldn’t second guess it. And I have a chance to do
something my family has been dying to do for years. And yeah, I didn’t tell Regan about my return…big whoop. Oh yeah, I won
Taking Hold of the Flame. Now she’s teaming with
Selena. She’ll be fine and they’ll whoop the Jackass
and Big Ass Connection and Regan will make her own history at Rise to
Greatness. And me, Bree…I am going to make history myself by returning to the
biggest stage in wrestling and walking out the World Champion! And the only one
who will be disappointed that night will be you!”
The crowd cheers as David
stands face to face with Bree.
David: “So bring your best,
Bree. You’re facing a Hall of Famer. You’re facing the Last Shadow of Hope. And you’re facing the next World Champion! BANG!”
The crowd erupts in cheers.
Bree and David look at one another. The camera focusing on them.
Sharper: “David Helms! Bree
Lancaster! The SCW World Championship. They meet, this Sunday, Rise to
Greatness XVII!”
Bree takes off her World
Championship and holds it up between the two. The crowd cheers some more as
“All I Want” plays in the background and the scene fades to black…
