A shot of Kelcey
Wallace nailing Bree Lancaster with the Perfect Ending, followed by a shot of
Steve Griffin hitting the Decimator off the top rope on CHBK at the first Rise to
Greatness, before turning a shot of Jake Starr pumping up the crowd on his way
to the ring, before turning into a shot of Ravyn
Taylor sitting in the corner, waiting for the start of a match. We then see a
shot of Katie Steward holding the Women’s Championship before cutting to a shot
of Selena Frost hitting Vixen Cain with the Defying Gravity at Supreme
Saturday: Just Desserts.

DARK
MATCH:
Josh Woodrum defeats Lailoken Da Vinci
via pinfall
MAIN SHOW:
We open up with a live shot of
the inside of the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. The camera
slowly pans across the crowd.
Sharper: “Good evening everyone and welcome to the post-Taking Hold of the
Flame edition of Breakdown, coming to you live from New Orleans. Adam Sharper
here with Jonathan Knots and we’re opening tonight with a special opening
segment.”
Knots: “A lot of big things happened in St. Louis. Kennedy Street is still the
World Champion. We have a new United States Champion, well, Interim. And the
Flame has been claimed by the Wonderland... and we'll get to all of that. But
first, we'll hear from someone that many people have been waiting for an update
from Amy Chastaine. This is her hometown crowd. And
she wanted to give that update right here in the ring, in front of a crowd that
she considers extended family.”
Sharper: “Last Sunday night she faced Bree Mason in a No Disqualification
match. It didn't end well for Amy, as the official stopped the match, due to
what appeared to be an injury to Amy's left knee. Her husband, Bree's brother,
Wyatt carried her to the back to be examined. We know medics sent her to a
medical facility in St. Louis for further exams. She's here to tell us the
rest.”
They then erupt into cheers as blue and white lights flash, and the familiar
words and music fill the arena.
"Tear me down, it won't build you up"
Amy Chastaine comes through the curtain just as the
tempo of New Years Day's "Relentless" picks
up with the chorus, the lights flashing to keep up. She's walking with a crutch
under her left arm, and her left leg is encased in a full-length immobility
brace. Wearing jeans and a black t-shirt with the words “Be Brave” in gold
script on the front, the black and gold a nod to the city's beloved Saint's
football team. At her side is her husband Wyatt Lancaster, also in jeans and a
plain black polo. The crowd roars as Amy looks around, smiling at their
reaction. Amy and Wyatt start down the ramp, a little slower than she normally
would go. She speaks to a few fans along the way as she proceeds carefully down
the ramp, Wyatt with one hand at her back for support.
Sharper: “That leg brace and crutch answers one question... Amy does indeed
have a rather serious injury.”
Knots: “She does. Kennie and I had dinner at Amy's
home last night, and... well, let's just say I have a
pretty good idea of what she's going to say here tonight.”
Sharper: “I'll hazard a guess that her family and friends in attendance tonight
are also aware.”
The camera cuts to a section of the front row not normally seen by the cameras.
We see an older lady seated next to a teenage girl and a young boy. Behind them
are three fit looking men, one of whom looks familiar. The small group grins
and the teenage girl waves a little.
Sharper: “Seen there are Amy's mother, Liz Chastaine, along with Amy's children. Jaina and Loki Lancaster.
Behind them are some friends and coworkers from the gym Amy and Wyatt operate,
among them someone well-known in the wrestling business although he's never
stepped inside an SCW ring, Jeffrey Alexander.”
Knots: “Jeff recently took a job as a trainer at their gym, and he's been a big
supporter of Amy and Kennedy as BAE. Some think he's over the top but he's okay
in my book. Amy's mom and kids are fun, too. Me and Kennie had a great time at dinner.
We cut back to the ramp and see Amy and Wyatt have made it to the ring. When
she gets to the ring steps, Amy goes up them one at a time, Wyatt behind her
helping keep her balance. He then goes to the apron and opens the ropes for
her. Amy steps her good leg through first, using the single crutch for support,
then pulls the other one through carefully. She goes to the middle of the ring
as Wyatt goes over to ask for a mic. Amy stands in the center looking out at
the crowd. Her music fades but the sound is replaced by cheering. Wyatt hands
her the mic he was given, and steps back a bit.
Amy: “Hey guys... “
The crowds roar gets louder, and Amy stops, since anything else she would say
would just be drowned out. She smiles again, and looks around. She then raises
the mic again, and the crowd dies down a little.
Amy: “They say New Orleans crowds are some of the loudest in the country, thanks
for proving that again.”
More cheers, but they fade quickly.
Amy: “As you can probably guess, I have a few things to talk about. I didn't
really plan or rehearse this at all, so please bear with me as I get through
it. First of all... this thing.”
Amy pats the brace on her left leg.
Amy: “As anyone who followed me in VWA knows, a few years ago I was in a match
called the Seventh Circle of Hell. During that match, I leapt from the top of
an elimination chamber pod, holding a chair, to take out one of my opponents. I
did... but I also landed on that chair in such a way that the impact fractured
my patella. The kneecap. It was a hairline, and didn't
take all that long to heal. I wasn't working here yet, and that company ran
shows monthly, so I actually didn't miss any work. Since then though... I've
had lingering issues with this knee. It's part of what led to my OD two years
ago. After a match with Dylan Howell and his targeting of it led me to
painkillers and... well, this isn't about that. The
point is... for the last probably two years I've worked every match wearing a
brace on it under my tights. It wasn't really a secret, but I didn't advertise
it either. It's not smart to put targets on your weaknesses. But a few people
knew. People I fought more than once. People I trained with. And
of course... Bree Mason knew this.”
The crowd boos heavily at Bree's name. Amy glances at Wyatt, and he just looks
back at her stoicly.
Amy: “Somewhere in the course of my match with her last Sunday, that old
fracture broke again. Maybe it was the ring steps,
maybe it was when I kneed the post instead of Bree's ribs. Maybe the
combination, I don't know. But I do remember thinking... I'm gonna need some time off after this. I knew something was wrong, something that would need time to heal.
Then... after spearing me down and instead of trying to pin me, Bree put on
that figure four hold. And pushed down on my leg. And
then.... something ELSE was wrong. I felt something different snap. I didn't
know what it was, just that it left me barely able to stand, as you all saw.
Since then, as I said on Twitter, I've seen three different doctors, and all of
them agree. I'm gonna need a surgeon to put my knee
back together. My patella actually fractured into several pieces. And that submission hold? It pulled on the patellar tendon, and
that pulled one of those pieces away from the rest, basically tearing that
tendon loose. For those not up on biology, that's the tendon that holds a
kneecap in place from the bottom, the opposite of the quad. So... here...”
Amy leans over and points on her knee, right under it. She straightens and
sighs.
Amy: “So, my doctor sent me to a specialist which I saw Friday. And we have a
procedure scheduled for tomorrow morning. He wanted to do it sooner, on Monday.
These kinds of injuries really shouldn't be put off getting repaired for very
long. But... I insisted on waiting until I could come
out here and talk to all of you. After everything that you've stood behind me
on, supported me through... you deserved to hear this from me, in person. The
fact that this Breakdown is here.... ten minutes away from my home? That helps
take some of the sting out.
So... what I came out here to tell you all, is that
after this surgery is done and everything heals as it should... I won't be
pushing to come back.”
Gasps from the crowd, and murmurs.
Sharper: “What? She's done?”
Knots: “Just hear her out, Adam.”
Amy looks down at her feet for a second, and Wyatt rests his hand on her lower
back, supportive as always. Amy looks back up, and around at the crowd.
Amy: “I just don't think I can. I'm told that this kind of injury and surgery
can take minimum nine months to recover from, and for athletes to return to
their sport, up to a year. If this had happened ten years ago,
or even five? Things would be different. But... in two months I will be
forty-two. Add a year of recovery, rehab, physical
therapy, training for a return.... can I do that at forty-three?”
Some claps and cheers come from the crowd, and one fan is heard yelling “Yes
you can!” Amy turns in that direction and smiles before turning back to the
camera.
Amy: “Maybe I can. More than likely I can't. And more
importantly.... I don't think I want to. And it's not that don't love
this business, this business is a part of me. It's
given me so much, more than I ever dreamed of or asked for.
When I left this city fifteen years ago, to go to New York to train, if anyone
had told me then that I would go on to do the things I've done, and still be
here now? I'd have said they were crazy. At that time my goal was just to learn
what I could and maybe one day work in a real
wrestling company. Standing here now... I've worked for five different
companies. I've held championships in all of them, over a dozen different titles.
I've wrestled all over the world. I've made fantastic friends. I've loved... in
a way this business even gave me my son.”
Amy looks over to where her family is sitting and grins. The camera shows a
quick shot of her kids, both of them grinning back, before cutting back to the
ring.
Amy: “I've met SO many people who shared their stories with me, claimed that I
inspired them, when really? I've been inspired by all of them. All of you.”
Amy stops and wipes at her eyes with the back of her hand the mid is in, her
other arm busy holding the crutch that's keeping her balance. The crowd
applauds. Amy smiles, then nods.
Amy: “And it's out of respect for that, the deep love I have for this business
and everything it's done for me... that I know I can't try to make myself come
back after this. I don't want to be the person who steps into this ring at less
than their best. I don't want to be the person that keeps going when they
shouldn't, getting looks and whispers backstage that
maybe they should have just quit while they were ahead. I don't want to be that
person who tarnishes their legacy by hanging on, having subpar matches, making
new fans wonder why the long-time fans ever loved that
performer.
Maybe that's ego talking, maybe it's not. I don't know. What I do know, is that
for years I have always said I would keep doing this until I was physically
unable to do so. At this point... I'm not able to do so. And I don't want to
risk trying to once this is healed, and fail. I don't want to disappoint all of
you like that. I would rather be seen as going out after one of the best
matches I've ever been in... Regardless what I or anyone else thinks of Bree
personally, in this ring she is a fantastic talent. The ending wasn't what I
wanted obviously... but I want my last match to be remembered as one where I
left everything in there, where I threw my best at my opponent, where I never
gave up... rather than some lackluster performance because I can't go as hard
as I want, before just fading away.”
More cheers. Amy doesn't bother to wipe her eyes clear this time.
Amy: “I have too much respect for this business and everyone in it to do that.
After taking a year off to heal this, at my age... I can't be sure I could be
back to my best shape, able to give my best in this ring, for you. And it's
just not a risk I want to take. So... I spoke with Mr.
D earlier this week. I explained my injury, the surgery, the recovery, my
thoughts... and he understands. I guess I should say the words to make it
official... as of tonight, I am no longer an active wrestler... but a retired
one.”
Sharper: “Tough day for the business, and I'm sure not a decision made
lightly.”
Knots: “I can tell you she struggled with it. But she's set.”
The camera pans the crowd, where some are applauding, a lot of fans look upset
or sad, and a few are crying. We then cut to a shot of Amy's family again,
where her mom Liz is dabbing her face with a tissue and the kids sit holding
hands, both red-eyed. We go back to the ring where Amy and Wyatt are talking,
Amy with the mic down. She then looks back up and turns back to the camera,
raising the mic again.
Amy: “For the last three years SCW has been a home for me. I became close with
many people, some are like family. I also made more than a few enemies. But I
while I'm standing here making this announcement, I want to say thank you, to
ALL of you. Whether I fought against you or alongside you... you are a part of
my history here, you are a part of my story here, and the legacy I'm leaving
behind. I'm not going to name everyone, because the show does need to go on
when I'm done.... but you know who you are. I've had deep lows and some
amazing, amazing highs. Been angry, been ecstatic, and
everything else in between. And I wouldn't trade any of it for anything.
Thank you Mr. D, for giving me a chance here. And thank all of you, in the
crowd here, and watching at home, for accepting me as a part of this great
company, and allowing me to live out the last part of my dream as a part of
Supreme Championship Wrestling. “
The crowd applauds, and Amy smiles through her tears, as
Wyatt rests a hand on her shoulder. He leans in and can be seen asking
“You ok?” Amy nods, and brushes her face off again before raising the mic
again.
Amy: “Now, I know some people... namely Bree and her friends, are going to make
the case that SHE retired me, she ended my career. She and her gaggle of
cohorts will likely continue to push the idea that Bree put me down, erased the
past, or whatever cute hashtag they want to promote next. And maybe in a sense
that's partially true, she caused this injury. But just like I didn't let her
steal a part of my life for her personal amusement when I told you all about
Jason.... I am not going to let her steal this from me, either.”
“I made this choice. I retired me.”
“I have always done everything on my own terms, from my start in this business,
right up to challenging Bree in the first place, and now this. It wasn't easy
to decide this, but I'm content with it. I've had a career that most people in
this business dream of, lasted longer than most, thirteen years. And there
isn't any other way I'd want to go out, than on my terms, my decision... in
front of THIS crowd. Back where everything started.”
More cheers and applause. Amy
smiles.
Amy: “This business will always be a part of me, no matter what else I end up
doing after I take care of myself. And even though I won't be in this ring
competing anymore, I promise you this... somehow, some way... I will always be
a part of this business. Thank you. I love all of you.”
Amy hands the mic to Wyatt, and he walks over and hands it back down. Amy wipes
her face off again and goes to the ropes, then Wyatt
opens them for her again. She exits, then he follows.
Amy's music then plays again as the pair go up the
ramp. About halfway, Amy stops, and turns around, smiling as she looks out at
the crowd. They cheer and applaud, and then break into a chant.
“Thank you, Amy! Thank you, Amy! Thank you, Amy”
Amy puts her hand over her face, looking around at the crowd, more tears
streaming down. The crowd then cheers a bit, and a pair of
hands appear on Amy's shoulders. She turns, and the camera pulls back to
show Jason Helms, his wife Aniya beside him. Amy smiles at him, and they hug,
to more applause. They separate, and Jason and Wyatt shake hands. The guys each
take one of Amy's hands, and Aniya grabs Amy's crutch before it falls. The guys
raise Amy's hands up overhead. The crowd applauds and cheers again, and Amy's
music restarts. After a few seconds, the guys let Amy's hands down, Aniya hands
her the crutch back. The women share a quick hug, and then the four start up
the ramp towards the back, Amy's music playing as Breakdown fades to a
commercial break.
COMMERCIALS
We return as “Immortals” plays
in the background and we open back up in Toronto, instead of New Orleans, the
camera swoops in to show Spirit Dansby and Shawn Winters at the desk in the SCW
Studios.
Spirit: “Welcome back to Breakdown.
We’ll head back to New Orleans in a moment. Spirit Dansby here with Shawn
Winters and we already had plenty to talk about with Taking Hold of the Flame
and what that meant for SCW, but we’ve now seen something we all hoped wouldn’t
be the case, but is. Amy Chastaine calling it a
career here tonight because of the injury sustained at Taking Hold of the
Flame.”
Winters: “I know that feeling
too well. I however was still able to have that last match, knowing that it
would be my last. You saw with Amy. Taking Hold of the Flame was a personal
contest, definitely, but Amy was not expecting to call it a career after that
knee injury and the next couple of weeks are going to be hard. She’s got a lot
of support and in a bit of luck, fate, whatever you want to call it, she was
able to announce it at home and that may take some of the sting away from it.
She can say it was her choice to end it now…and she’s entitled to frame it that
way.”
Spirit: “And we certainly want
to thank Amy for the years of entertainment and competition she gave to use as
SCW fans and as wrestling fans for many years before that too.”
Spirit pauses as we cut
directly to Spirit.
Spirit: “We are about ready to
go back to New Orleans, but at Taking Hold of the Flame, a lot of big news .Two
new champions. Jason Helms, who we just saw, won the interim SCW US
Championship and Sophie James and David Callahan walked away the Tag Team
Champions. Dawn Lohan, the former tag champion, will be up in action in
moments.”
Winters: “And I think in the
case of Jason, he’s finally shown what a lot of us knew was possible. He had
the family lineage and could go. It was a matter of time. I think what’s more
notable is against who it was against. Ikiro Yoshida
was on a tear. And in one week, all of that success evaporated. We’ve talked
about how the TV Championship is an endurance title. We’ve seen wrestlers fall
apart with the grind of weekly title defenses and it’s claimed another victim
in Ikiro.”
Spirit: “And our new tag
champs?”
Winters: “Former champion
elsewhere. Sophie James finally has gold here and it came to the Network trying
to do too much. Callahan had the opening took advantage.”
Spirit: “Well along with that,
Marie Jones winning the best of five series, three matches to one. We’ll see
what opportunities that may open for her, but more importantly, the big
opportunity, Taking Hold of the Flame, we have a winner in Giovanni Aries.”
Winters: “Looking to be facing
Kennedy Street and we’re expecting to see Selena Frost cash in her Trios
contract tonight. Regan Street is here and ticked off. Sienna Swann has made
challenges on Twitter. It’s Rise to Greatness season. It’s here. Kennedy Street walking in. Donovan Kayl
has to reset. Giovanni Aries with the spot everyone wants.”
Spirit: “A sad start with Amy Chastaine announcing that she is retiring. But we have some
great wrestling action for you tonight. And with that in mind, let’s take you
to New Orleans where Adam Sharper and Jonathan Knots will have the call.”
The camera pans toward the
screen behind them where we see a shot of the Smoothie King Center in New
Orleans again.
Cassius James vs. Dawn Lohan
“Mz
Hyde” by Halestorm echoes from the loud speaker. Dawn
Lohan pushes her way through the curtain. She stands in front of the entrance
way, she takes a moment to soak in the reaction from the crowd. As the music is
coursing through the arena she knows she can't delay the inevitable.
Phillips: “The opening contest
is scheduled for onefall and has a fifteen minute
time limit. First, on her way to the ring, from San Diego, California, she is
Dawn Lohan!”
She slowly makes her down to
the ring, all business. She makes her way to the ring steps. When she reaches
the top of the steps, she walks along the apron. Grabbing the top rope she
pulls back, using the momentum she propels herself forward over the top rope
into the ring. She immediately springs up. She walks to the turnbuckle, stands
on the middle turnbuckle soaking in the atmosphere. She hops off the turnbuckle
and remains in the corner until the match gets underway.
Sharper: “Back in New Orleans.
I’m Adam Sharper, here with Jonathan Knots. Dawn Lohan, a
former World Champion and now former World Tag Team Champion, on her way to the
ring to start us off.”
Knots: “She was expecting to
be World Tag Team Champions, but I guess that may not be all bad. She was
having some differences with the Network.”
Sharper: “May be best for them
to part. It was an interesting experiment, worked for some time, but clearly
had become a bit of a problem.”
“This Is America” by Childish
Gambino begins to play throughout the arena as Cassius James steps out behind
the curtain with a black sleeveless hoodie on with solid black trunks and
boots. He has a black gloves on his left hand.
Phillips: “And his opponent,
from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he is Cassius James!”
Cassius James stops at the top
of the ramp looks at the crowd to a mixed reaction before making his way down to
ramp ring completely focused on the ring. He slides into the ring as he stands
in the center of the ring before raising his left arm and making a fist with
his hand as he points to himself before dropping his arm and moving to his
corner of the ring.
Sharper: “Cassius James, this
kid, I think, has a bright future.”
Knots: “An outspoken man to
say the least.”
Sharper: “Definitely and
earlier tonight, I had a moment to talk to him and he was upset that he was not
granted a spot in the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal. When I asked him
if he thought he would have won, he looked at me and responded that he just
wanted the opportunity. The same opportunity he felt many others, including
lesser wrestlers, had.”
The bell sounds and Dawn and
Cassius circle the ring a bit. Dawn watches him as Cassius then moves in and
Dawn ducks down. Cassius turns around and Dawn nails him with a forearm and
then another before Cassius goes for a hard right. Dawn ducks. Cassius spins
around and Dawn plants her feet and nails him with another forearm before
another. Cassius swings again for a hard right. Dawn ducks again and kick him in the ribs. She then grabs him in a side headlock.
Cassius holds on and hoists Dawn up and just throws her forward, causing her to
land on her back with an atomic whip. Dawn winces and rolls over and Cassius
knees her in the ribs. He then whips her into the corner. Cassius follows over
and Dawn goes for a hard right, but Cassius blocks it and knees her in the ribs
and then again and finally a third time.
Sharper: “Cassius James using
his size and just burying that knee into the ribs of Dawn over and over.”
Knots: “Dawn tried to stick
and move, but Cassius just outlasted that.”
He then pulls her out and
hoists her onto his shoulders. He steps forward and hits a fireman’s roll. Dawn
holds her ribs and Cassius James goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Dawn kicks out. Cassius turns
and grabs her. He pulls her up and wrenches the arm. He fires her into the
ropes. Dawn bounces off and Cassius hip tosses her down. Dawn rolls over and
Cassius grabs her and scoops her up and slams her down. Dawn winces and turns
and Cassius drags her up and whips her into the
corner. Cassius runs after and Dawn gets a boot up. Cassius staggers back. Dawn
pulls herself to the middle rope and dives off with a dropkick. Cassius hits
the mat. The crowd ohs and rolls over. Dawn crawls
over for the pin.
1!
2!
Cassius pushes her off.
Sharper: “Nearfall
as Dawn creates an opening. Got the dropkick, but only for a
two!”
Knots: “Cassius may not have
had his opportunity at Taking Hold of the Flame, but he’s facing a former World
Champion tonight, so he can make a statement here. But not if Dawn keeps
getting dropkicks like that off.”
Cassius stirs and Dawn kicks
him in the ribs as he gets up. She then runs into the ropes. She bounces off
and Cassius goes for a waistlock, but Dawn’s momentum
spins him around and she elbows him in the jaw and then again and then a third
time before she jumps to the middle rope and jumps back with a back kick to the
jaw. Cassius hits the mat. Dawn turns and runs into the ropes and bounces off
and hits a flipping senton onto Cassius. She goes for
the pin.
1!
2!
Cassius kicks out. Dawn gets
up and Cassius stirs. Dawn turns and exits to the apron before climbing up to
the top rope. The crowd roars as Cassius turns to her and Dawn dives off and
hits a seated senton. Cassius rolls over and Dawn
looks back and hits a back kick. Cassius remains on his knees and Dawn runs
into the ropes, bounces off and hits a leg lariat. She goes for the pin again.
1!
2!
Cassius gets her shoulder up.
She turns and Dawn grabs him and pulls him up. She then hooks him up by the
head, but Cassius hoists her up before putting her down only to throw her
overhead with a bridging northern lights suplex.
1!
2!
Dawn kicks out.
Sharper: “Cassius James using
that strength advantage, first to take Dawn off her footing and then throw her
over.”
Knots: “Didn’t just go for it.
Got her off-kilter.”
Sharper: “But only a two!”
Dawn gets up and Cassius grabs
her arm and wrenches it and pulls her into a hard short-arm clothesline. The
crowd ohs and Cassius slowly gets
up. Dawn rolls over and Cassius walks around her and starts to wait for her to
get up. Dawn staggers to her feet and steps forward and Cassius grabs her in a
half nelson before hoisting her up and throwing her over head with a half
nelson suplex. Dawn rolls to her back. Cassius turns
and hooks the leg.
1!
2!
Dawn shoots her shoulder up.
Cassius rolls over to a seated position and looks around. He then gets up and
starts to pull Dawn up. He then turns and grabs the leg and hits a hooking shot
to her thigh. Dawn winces and staggers back. Cassius walks over and kicks her
in the calf. Dawn staggers back to the corner. The crowd boos some. Cassius
then kicks Dawn in the back of the leg again and then again before starting to
pull her out of the corner, looking to go for a dragon screw. Dawn hops out and
looks at him before jumping up and hitting an enziguri
kick. Cassius flips forward and rolls over, holding the back of his head.
Sharper: “Cassius James
starting to go for the leg to set up his finishing hold, but Dawn fighting out.
Enziguri catches him in the back of the head.”
Knots: “And Cassius turned
inside out. Dawn needs to get to her feet, fight through the pain to have a
chance here.”
Cassius slowly gets up and
Dawn gets up and kicks him in the ribs. She then nails him in the back with a
hard shot. She then goes to whip him into the ropes, but Cassius spins through
and sends Dawn in. Dawn jumps up and hits a high kick to the jaw. Dawn turns as
Cassius starts to get up. Dawn grabs Cassius and sets up for a
DDT, but Cassius pushes her forward and Dawn’s arm catches the official.
Dawn falls over as Cassius turns and starts to get up. Dawn turns and looks at
the official as he starts to get up and turns only for Cassius to kick her in
the ribs and plant her with the double standard. The crowd ohs.
Sharper: “Cassius James
creating an opening by sending Dawn into the official. Hardly
necessary.”
Knots: “Not necessary, but
effective! Double Standard!”
Sharper: “Dawn planted! Not
this way. Come on Cassius! This great match and to use the
referee like this?”
Cassius hooks the leg.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd boos a bit as Cassius
rolls off. Dawn rolls over, holding the back of her head.
Phillips: “Here is your
winner, via pinfall, Cassius James!”
Sharper: “James getting the
win thanks to using the referee, sending Dawn into him and creating chaos.”
Knots: “Taking advantage
definitely, but you have a chance to beat a former World Champion, you take
it!”
Cassius James has his arm
raised as he looks out at the crowd. He then scans the crowd before turning and
going to the corner and raising his fist in the air. Dawn stirs in the ring as
the crowd continues to look on and we cut away.
We cut backstage to see Andrew
Raynes and Dustin Adams in the office of SCW
Commissioner David Helms. Raynes holds his SCW
Adrenaline Championship as he looks across from David.
Raynes: “You know exactly why I am
here. I got that idiot Howell to agree to whatever match I wanted, when I
wanted it. So, I can make this easy. We can announce a new match for Rise to
Greatness.”
Helms holds his hands up, to slow Raynes down.
Helms: “That’s great and I’m
willing to discuss that next week, if you win.”
Raynes: “What? Come on, I’m the
longest reigning active champion…at least until Regan gets the titles unified
and that really should happen sooner rather than later. Never know what could
happen. A shame with Amy…”
Helms: “I know your history
there, but you may be the longest reigning champion, but you’ve also not
defended that title since WTF Wednesday and you need to put it on the line. If
you succeed, then we can talk Howell.”
Raynes rolls his eyes.
Raynes: “Well there’s no one that
can stop me. So who are you going to feed to me?”
Helms looks out, putting his
hands in his jeans pockets and shrugs.
Helms: “How about someone who
just got through the best of five series and successfully? Marie Jones.”
Raynes just nods.
Raynes: “Hope she doesn’t mind
making that all for nothing.”
Raynes turns back to Dustin Adams
and nods to him before the two walk off and the scene fades to black.
COMMERCIALS
We open up backstage to see
Dawn Lohan walking backstage. She takes a few steps before she’s stopped by Max
Kane, Ms. Budde, Savali and
Dante McCaffery. The crowd boos seeing them.
Dawn: “What do you guys want?”
Kane: “Tough loss/nice win out
there.”
Dawn: “You’re not here for
that.”
Dante: “You’re right Dawn. I’m
here to remind you that we’re far from done.”
Dawn: “We lost the titles
Dante. It was a nice run, but it’s clear we’re too different.”
Dante: “You’re right about
that. Being different. We hold up our end of an
agreement. And Dawn, you’re going to help us get those tag titles back, or
we’re going to make sure that this return is going to amount to a whole bunch
of nothing else for you.”
Dante turns and walks off with
Budde and Savali. Kane
turns to Dawn as Dawn just glares at him.
Kane: “Gotta
know where the bread is butter Dawn.”
Dawn: “And here I thought we
were at least on the same page.”
Kane shrugs. He then heads off
as Dawn watches him leave as we then cut back to the ring.
Christy Matthews vs. Aaron Blackbourne
The lights dim in the arena as
the screens all cut to black and for a few seconds and there’s nothing but the
reaction of the fans heard all around the arena. After a few moments the opening
“King of the World” by Porcelain and the Tramps hits the PA system as
spotlights begin to flick on and off around the arena. The fans cheer as the
camera pans through them all and back to the cheap seats in the back of the
arena where we see Christy Matthews standing on the guard rail with her arms
outstretched in an eerily familiar mock-crucifix pose. Her fists are taped and
she looks more than ready for the task ahead. She’s wearing a red jacket the
hood pulled up over her head in a style similar to the classic fairytale.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall and has a fifteen
minute time limit. First, on her way to the ring, accompanied by Christopher
Richter, from Overland Park, Kansas, she is Christy Matthews!”
As she jumps down from the
guard rail the screens around the arena begin to display familiar wording once
more...
...E B D O N E N T E R T A I N M E N T P R E S E N T S...
...C H R I S T Y M A T T H E W S...
As she begins to push her way down to ringside, and security line the steps
down through the crowd, holding back the fans in the way, we see that she's
joined by her manager, Christopher Richter. Christy ignores every one of them
as she walks past them, focusing on the ring. She makes her way down to the
barricade, leaping over and begins climbing the outside of the turnbuckles,
standing on the middle rope, pulling down the hood of her jacket and striking
the mock-crucifix pose once more. As the second chorus of “King of the World”
hits Christy sings along with the lyrics, continuing to strike the crucifix
pose before finally leaping over the top rope and spinning around in the ring,
throwing her ring jacket to the outside and collapsing to a seated position in
the corner of the ring as the fans cheer. She sits in the corner, looking out
at the fans occasionally as Richter collects her belongings from her corner and
stands on the outside of the ring nearby.
Sharper: “Christy Matthews may
not have been in the ring at Taking Hold of the Flame, but near her hometown,
she made sure she made an impact eliminating Ravyn
Taylor almost immediately upon her entering the ring.”
Knots: “I’m still waiting for
these two to meet in the ring. It’s been just building more and more. Christy
being that thorn in the side of Ravyn and Ravyn’s not asked for a match yet. Stopped
a Ravyn attack a few weeks back. Stopped
whatever she was going to do in the battle royal.”
Sharper: “But you have to
wonder if Christy is getting ready for a war.”
Knots: “Ravyn’s
got the plan to get Syren back to the World Title,
this situation with Katya, now Christy in her back mirror, who knows what else.
Maybe she’s taking on too much!”
All of a sudden, the lights go
out, prompting a surprised pop from the fans. The tune of “The Nexus” by Amaranthe begins as a distorted speech that can barely be
made out plays amidst the beat, but it’s not long before the song kicks into
full gear, and when it does red and white lights begin
pulsing on the stage as we see that smoke has begun to engulf it. When the
lyrics kick in, the Tron comes to life with clips of Aaron Blackbourne
in action, both as himself and as his various demon incarnations. When the song
hits the chorus, pyro suddenly goes off on the stage in sync with the creative
soul himself suddenly shooting up through the smoke and standing tall on the
stage, arms raised and outstretched as the fans erupt into cheers.
Phillips: “And her opponent,
from Seattle, Washington, he is Aaron Blackbourne!”
The lights start to come back
on, albeit dimmed, as Blackbourne begins making his
way down to the ring, happily accepting high fives from the fans with a smile.
As he reaches ringside he suddenly leaps onto the apron and quickly climbs so
that he’s got one foot on the top turnbuckle, and in tune with the chorus kicking
in a second time he briefly crosses his arms across his chest before throwing
them out in the same raised and outstretched pose as before, white spotlights
suddenly coming on and converging on him as he closes his eyes and basks in
this moment. When the chorus ends, Blackbourne leaps
from the top into the ring, removing his black jacket and setting it into his
corner before he begins doing some light warm-ups for the match ahead.
Sharper: “Aaron Blackbourne has had his issues with Gothfather,
with Bill Barnhart, but this will be a very different challenge.”
Knots: “Blackbourne
has his unchained creativity. Let’s see what he can do against a former World
Champion.”
Sharper: “A little trend here
in our first two matches tonight on Breakdown.”
Christy looks across at Blackbourne as he finishes his warm-ups. The bell sounds. Blackbourne and Christy circle the ring. They look at one
another and look-up in the middle of the ring. They push back on one another
and Aaron pushes Christy back into the corner. The referee calls for the break.
Blackbourne holds for a one count before backing up.
He backs up to the middle of the ring as Christy walks out. They circle some
more and they lunge and grapple again. Blackbourne
starts to push Christy back, but Christy ducks down and around. She tries for a
waistlock. Blackbourne
blocks it and breaks it. He hits a standing switch. He hoists her up, but
Christy counters by bending her body and then flips forward into a roll-up.

2!
Blackbourne kicks out. Both get up and
Christy grabs the arm and wrenches it. Blackbourne
pushes up and starts to remove the leverage before then falling back, placing
his foot on Christy’s stomach and throwing her overhead. She hits the mat and Blackbourne holds onto the arm and then locks in an armbar. Christy turns and starts to get up.
Sharper: “Blackbourne
with a nice takedown into an armbar. Has control
right now.”
Knots: “Christy and him are trying to trade holds. Don’t know how smart that is.
For either of em.”
Christy slowly turns and
starts to get up to her knees. She gets up and Blackbourne
holds on before whipping her into the ropes. She bounces off and Blackbourne goes for a back elbow. Christy ducks and
bounces off the other side and Blackbourne goes for a hip toss, but has her land on her feet before
pulling her down with a neckbreaker. He goes for the
pin.
1!
2!
Christy kicks out. She turns
and Blackbourne gets up and grabs her. He turns and
whips her into the corner. Blackbourne runs after and
Christy jumps up and floats over him. Blackbourne
hits the corner. He turns. He runs out and Christy ducks a clothesline and runs
into the corner, jumps up to the middle turnbuckle and jumps up, landing her
lands on Aaron’s shoulders and hitting a headscissors
into the middle turnbuckle. Aaron rolls over as Christy gets up.
Sharper: “Christy with a nice
counter. The headscissors doing the
damage.”
Knots: “Christy trying to
match the creativity. She had a moment there where she had no clue what the hell Aaron was going to try.’
Aaron gets up and Christy hits
a dropkick. Aaron falls through the ropes to the apron. Christy then turns and
jumps to the middle rope and hits a dropkick to the face of Aaron, knocking him
off the apron and to the floor. (1) He slowly starts to get up in front of the
announce tables. (2) Aaron turns around and Christy runs across the ring,
bounces off and hits a baseball slide. (3) Aaron falls back into the announce
table. Christy pulls herself to the apron and to the floor. (1) She then grabs
Aaron and pulls him up. (2) She then rolls him into the ring. Christy hops onto
the apron and climbs up to the top rope. Aaron starts to get up and Christy
dives off and hits a crossbody into a pin.
1!
2!
Aaron kicks out. Both get up and
Christy runs at Aaron and hits another flying headscissors,
this time in the middle of the ring.
Sharper: “Christy starting to
take this match over. Using her agility. Another nice headscissors takedown.”
Knots: “Creativity is great
and all. You still need to connect. You still need the basics.”
Sharper: “He’s shown some of
that, but this is a different level with Christy again showing what she can do.
She’s refocused. She’s not making excuses.”
Aaron Blackbourne
slowly gets up and Christy kicks him in the ribs with a hard right and then
another shot. She then grabs him by the head and turns and pulls him into the
corner. She starts to climb up, but Aaron spins her around and throws her back.
She lands on her feet, but Blackbourne goes for a
clothesline. Christy ducks. She then hits a back kick. She then goes to the
corner and climbs up to the top rope. She goes for a twisting crossbody, but Aaron jumps up with a dropkick. The crowd ohs. Christy rolls over
in pain. Aaron pulls her up before hoisting her onto his shoulders and then
jumping up and hitting the Pull the Trigger. Christy falls back. Aaron turns
and dives onto her for the pin, hooking the leg.
1!
2!
Christy shoots her shoulder
up. The crowd roars.
Sharper: “How close! How close
was that! That pump kick to the head out of the Samoan
drop. The Pull the Trigger-“
Knots: “Almost pulled the
trigger on a win and an upset!”
Aaron Blackbourne
slowly gets up and grabs Christy. He pulls her to her feet and hooks her head
before hitting a falcon arrow. He rolls back and turns and exits to the apron.
He then pulls himself up to the top rope and looks over at Christy. He then
jumps forward to the top rope in front of him and dives back, getting extra
bounce for a huge knee drop, but Christy rolls out of the way. Blackbourne hits the mat and winces. He rolls over and
starts to get up and Christy turns and lunges and hits a dropkick to the knee.
The crowd ohs and Blackbourne
falls face first to the mat. He starts to get up and Christy gets up and grabs Blackbourne and hits the Happily Never After. The crowd ohs and Christy rolls him over and hooks the leg.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd roars and cheers as
Christy rolls off. The bell sounds.
Phillips: “Here is your
winner, via pinfall, Christy Matthews!”
Sharper: “Christy Matthews
with the win as Aaron Blackbourne thought he had a
chance to do something different. Christy didn’t hesitate in getting out of the
way.”
Knots: “Guess right and then
made him pay. Went to the knees, but then the Happily Never After, and that’s
all she wrote!”
Sharper: “Christy Matthews
proving that she is back to her old form. Aaron Blackbourne
may not have won, but he showed a lot there. This is someone who has dominated
the Adrenaline Division in the past and Aaron Blackbourne
had her reeling.”
Knots: “We’ve seen him show
this time and time again in SCW. He’s stunned us with what he can do. The
question is when will he stop just showing us how close and start to not just
get over that line but destroy it.”
Christy Matthews gets up and
then looks around the arena, almost waiting for someone to run out, before
stopping and enjoying her victory a bit, having her arm raised. Christopher
Richter enters the ring and raises her arm as the referee checks on Aaron Blackbourne and we cut away.
We see Ikiro
Yoshida backstage standing with Hana Ito. The crowd cheers seeing Ikiro Yoshida. Yoshida looks around and nods.
Hana: “Hana Ito here and I am with Ikiro Yoshida and Ikiro, it’s been a tough last two weeks. Lost
both of your titles and then a short showing in the SCW Taking Hold of the
Flame. You mentioned that you’re looking forward to what is next. What
would Ikiro like to have next?”
Hana then says something in
Japanese to help Ikiro as Ikiro
nods.
Ikiro: “I would like rematch. Jason
is good opponent. And I may have been in the Flame for time short, but I did
some good.”
Ikiro pauses.
Ikiro: “I don’t have answer. I’m
not Champion of America. Not facing Regan. Not getting World Title shot. No TV
Title.”
We then see Beard walking into
the scene.
Beard: “Whoa, dude…relax. Don’t get so down on yourself. You kicked ass
for weeks man. You beat Selena Frost for the TV Title!
That’s hard mode right there.”
Ikiro: “But lost it all.”
Beard: “So you slowly win it
back. You didn’t have any of it. You know what, man…I
think you just need to loosen up. Go back to your roots. Go back to what made
you who you are. I got it…next week, I’ll bring
everything we need. We’ve talked about how we’re gonna
have a karaoke contest and while I still recover from Barnhart’s horrible
farts…I’m still tearing up from it…”
Ikiro: “You still smell.”
Beard: “Dude. Gen hates it.
But next week, let’s have that Karaoke contest! Let’s finally tear the house
down as know.”
Ikiro pauses and nods.
Ikiro: “You’re a good friend
Beard…I think that would be great.”
Beard: “Just be aware. You’re
going down!”
Beard smirks and walks off. Ikiro then turns to Hana.
Ikiro: “I would be good to have fun
again.”
Ikiro smiles as he turns and walks
off as the crowd cheers a bit before we cut to commercial.
COMMERCIALS
Breakdown returns as we see
David Callahan walking down the hallway with Sophie James. Callahan lets out a
huge yell.
Callahan: “Wooooooooooo!”
Callahan holds up the World
Tag Team Championship in one hand and a bottle of non-alcoholic champagne in
the other.
Callahan: “Come on Soph! Mellow out.”
Sophie: “Well I do appreciate
the non-alcoholic stuff.”
Callahan: “I’m not an asshole.
I’ll leave that for Damian Angel and his muscle men. There is a Duck Dynasty
spinoff missing their idiots!”
Sophie: “Don’t let anyone hear you. We don’t need the
attacks. Plus, we may still have the Network to deal with.”
Callahan: “Relax…Relax.”
Callahan then starts to rub
Sophie’s shoulders, complete with the champagne and title in his hand, spilling
some of the contents all over Sophie. Sophie pulls away.
Sophie: “Dave!”
Callahan: “Okay…chill out
then.”
Sophie playfully hits Callahan
on the shoulder.
Sophie: “Give me that.”
Sophie takes the non-alcoholic
champagne before turning and tilting it back to her mouth and drinking some of
it. Sophie then pulls it away and coughs
a bit.
Sophie: “You had to get the
apple crap, didn’t you?”
Callahan: “It was that or
grape. And I was inspired by your ass.”
Sophie smacks him again and
the two walk off as we cut away.
We open up backstage interview
area as we see Jessica Winters standing by.
Jessica: “Ladies and
gentlemen, please welcome at this time…Bree Mason.”
The crowd boos as Bree Mason
walks into the view and looks around, hearing the reaction in the crowd.
Jessica: “Bree…earlier
tonight, Amy Chastaine confirmed what many of us
feared after Taking Hold of the Flame. She is retiring from active competition
and it is a direct result of your actions in your match against her that
night.”
Bree: “Wait…wait…you’re
blaming me?! You’re blaming me for injuring her for something that was clearly
an unintended consequence. She even said it was her choice!”
Jessica: “And she’s entitled
to feel that way and that may help her through it, but I’m not going to stand
here and suggest you’re innocent. You focused on the knee. You knew of her
history.”
Bree: “So because I am just an
effective submission wrestler, I’m being vilified. And you know what, it was probably Amy who put you up to it. Exactly the
type of move she does, Amy Chastaine and her
supporters, these immoral deviants who have no respect for the foundation of
society. Allow me to make this perfectly clear…I am internally a wreck over
what I heard earlier. I never intended to injure and end Amy Chastaine’s career. I never planned to take away something
every wrestler desperately wants…to leave on their own terms.”
Jessica: “Are you serious?”
Bree looks stunned.
Jessica: “Do you expect anyone
to believe that you genuinely did not intend to injure her?”
Bree: “We are competitors. I
wanted to win. I’m sorry that she’s injured and her career is over but…”
Bree sighs.
Bree: “Why am I even bothering
to get through your thick skulls? You know what…I’m going to go to the only
people who should know the truth. Not you. Not the SCW fans. Certainly not
these people in NOLA who have their heads so far up their own ass that they’ll
turn on one of their own while championing HER…”
The crowd boos loudly. Bree
turns and starts to walk off. The cameraman turns and reluctantly starts to
follow Bree as Bree heads down the hallway.
Sharper: “Bree Mason leaving
this interview…”
Knots: “Where is she going?
Who is she thinking she needs to talk to?”
Bree Mason continues down the
hallway before scanning around as the crowd boos continue to sound in the background.
Bree turns and looks over to an official.
Bree: “Where’s Jaina? With her boyfriend? With Owen?”
The official nods.
Bree: “His locker room?”
The official points. Bree then turns and starts to
walk down the hallway. The cameraman continues to follow.
Sharper: “She’s looking for
Amy’s daughter!”
Bree walks down the hallway
with purpose before turning and clearly looking at the doors on her left as she
continues down. She then walks past a third door before stopping at the fourth.
The cameraman walks over to her and Bree just opens the door and steps inside.
Bree: “Jaina?...Jaina!”
Bree steps forward as the
cameraman comes in as we see Owen in a t-shirt and his tights on. Jaina stands behind him as Owen gets up between Bree and Jaina.
Bree: “This is between her and
I, Owen. So please step aside.”
Jaina: “Get out of here? You think
I’m going to talk to you!”
Owen: “I think that makes
clear what should happen here.”
Bree: “Jaina.
You need to hear what I have to say. I didn’t mean to injure your mother-“
Jaina: “I don’t care, Bree. I just
know that my mother is calling it a career. I know that decision was hers, but
I’m not going to pretend you had nothing to do with it!”
Bree’s eyes widen. Owen turns
to Bree.
Owen: “Come on…”
Bree: “No…how dare you
question me?”
Jaina: “You rolled your eyes when
she couldn’t get up and the referee stopped it. You don’t care about her!”
Bree: “I was just frustrated.
We deserved to settle it in the ring.”
Jaina: “Well if you don’t leave,
I’ll settle something with you-“
Just then, we see Jason Helms
storms into the room, moving the cameraman out of the way. The cameraman
stumbles back, missing the shot as Jason comes in. Bree backs up.
Bree: “You! You stay away from
me! Just because my brother is too stupid to see what you’re
doing to the family.”
Jaina: “Don’t you dare! Bree!”
Jason: “You now want to go
after her family. You might be the most pathetic person I know.”
Bree: “She needs to know!”
Jason: “That you ended her
mother’s career-“
Bree: “This is not your
moment. I’m here to talk to someone I’ve been like an aunt too!”
Jaina: “Are you serious?!”
Owen: “Jaina…”
Jason: “You’re going to leave
now-“
Bree: “She needs to hear the truth.
Just like the world needed to see that Amy wasn’t half the person she said she
was as she judged everyone, Jaina needs to know that
I didn’t do anything. Come on…Amy even said it was her choice! Maybe this was
divine intervention for her salaciousness-“
Jason then grabs Bree and
starts to move her out of the room.
Jason: “That’s it-“
Bree moves away and nails
Jason with a hard right. Jason falls back and leans onto the couch in the room.
Owen comes over and stops Jason as he gets up to move forward, but stops
himself. We then see Regan Street walk into the room with Mikaela Street and
Sienna Swann. Bree turns.
Regan: “What’s going on in
here? Jason…need to try and knock down another family
while you can’t even stand to be in ours. That’s a shame, but Sienna figured we
should come over to make sure our friend can say what she needs to say.”
Owen: “All of you need to get
out of here.”
Sienna walks over to Owen.
Sienna: “Owen, relax. We’ve
never had too many issues. Especially after Trios and I know how much you
enjoyed teaming with me…”
Jaina: “Excuse me?”
Sienna wraps her arm around
Owen as Owen pulls away. Regan then stands between Jason and Bree. Mikaela
looks on.
Regan: “Plus Jason, I don’t
think you need to start getting yourself involved in more fights. You and I
have something to settle and this could’ve been more peaceful. You’re not quite
the same as AJ or David though and I want to end this interim stuff.”
Jason: “Regan…just like David
is capable of surprising you by showing his backbone, I can do the same and
Bree…you should stay away from Amy’s family. And Regan…I hope you don’t mind
how awkward family dinners will be when I take that title from you.”
Bree: “Jaina…I
hope you know-“
Jaina: “Get out!”
Bree turns and starts to leave.
Regan just looks at Jason before smirking. She then heads off, followed by
Mikaela and Sienna. Jason watches them leave and turns to Jaina
and Owen.
Jason: “You okay?”
Jaina: “Don’t worry. I’m not
worried about anything there. I’m more worried about if mom’s going to try
anything.”
Jason: “I’ll worry about
that…good luck later, kid.”
Owen nods and Jaina just watches the door as we cut away.

Derek Adonis vs. Sophie O’Brian
SCW Television Championship
KABLAAAAAAAAAAM!!!
The opening horns of “Weird Al” Yankovic’s “Wanna B Ur Lovr” begin to play
out over the crowd, meaning the crowd is about to be “graced” by the presence
of a living love machine – the man known as Derek Adonis! Stepping out amidst
spotlights of every colour of the rainbow alongside Cookie and Manvel, the
man’s outfit radiates light against a few blacklights
slipped in, and he is completely oblivious to his detractors, basking in the
glow of the spotlight as he begins his sensual stride towards the ring.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall, has a fifteen
minute time limit and is for the SCW Television Championship. First, the
challenger, accompanied by Cookie and Manvel, he is a member of the Golden
Triangle, from Las Vegas, Nevada, he is Man Mountain, Derek Adonis!”
As the chorus comes around, Adonis steps up the steel steps, taking each step
with added emphasis. He gets onto the apron and after winking at a particularly
friendly female, pulls himself through the ropes. He gyrates just a little bit
in the ring as his music fades. Manvel and Cookie walk around the ring.
Sharper: “Derek Adonis
receiving this opportunity by being the first eliminated in the Taking Hold of
the Flame battle royal. A dubious honour, but for Adonis, could be a boon.”
Knots: “Yeah…he’s a former TV
champion. And well, I’ll tell you this, he’s a wordsmith. The KABLAMA
Sutra…read it again. Beautiful!”
“Hands of the Wicked” begins
to play. The lights in the arena fade. A single spotlight shines upon the stage
as the tron comes to life and shows images of bloody
warfare from all throughout history. The words “Total War” appear on the tron as green pyro begins to go off. Sophie O’Brian then
steps out onto the stage side by side with her brother Mark. Sophie’s arms
slowly rise up so that they are extended outwards from her sides in a crucifix
like pose. The SCW Television Championship is around her waist. She soaks up
the response from the crowd.
Phillips: “His opponent,
accompanied by Mark O’Brian, from Belfast, Northern Ireland, she is the SCW
Television Champion, Sophie O’Brian!”
Finally Sophie and Mark begin
to make their way towards the ring. Sophie is to the ring area and then climbs
up onto the ring apron and then steps into the ring. Mark follows suit. Sophie
holds her arms outstretched in another crucifix like pose. She then hands off
the title to the official who holds it over his head. The SCW Television
Championship logo comes across the screen and fades to the bottom corner. The
referee hands it off.
Sharper: “Sophie O’Brian
shocking the world two weeks ago defeating Ikiro Yoshida to win the title. It was the start of what’s
been a sudden slide for Yoshida.”
Knots: “She doesn’t care.
After months of treading water, she’s seen her breakthrough and she wants to
hold on!”
Adonis looks at Sophie as the
crowd roars and the bell sounds. They start to circle the ring and Adonis moves
in and Sophie sweeps around him and into a waistlock
before dropping down into a drop toe hold. Adonis hits the mat and Sophie moves
into a side headlock. She holds on and pulls up. Adonis kicks at the mat as the
crowd boos. Sophie nails Adonis with a hard right and then another before
starting to slowly get to her feet. Adonis slowly gets up too and Sophie then
turns and forearms him in the jaw. She knees him in the chest and then grabs
him and jumps up and drives him back into the mat. She goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Adonis pushes her off. He
starts to get up and Sophie goes for the reverse chinlock.
Sharper: “Sophie, the smaller
of the two, but clearly with a plan.”
Knots: “Keep Adonis down and
wear him down. Test his endurance!”
Sharper: “Sophie is a far more
accomplished grappler in that ring. Playing right to her
strengths.”
Sophie holds on as Derek looks
out. Cookie pounds the mat as Derek starts to turn. He slowly gets his knees
under him, pulling his shirt down as he gets up. Sophie holds on and then waits
for him to get to his feet before letting go and kicking him in the ribs. She
forearms him in the jaw. Adonis falls back to the corner. Sophie then grabs his
arm and places it around the top rope and kicks at it. Adonis winces and shakes
it out. Sophie grabs it again and pulls it back around the top rope and kicks
at it again. Adonis pulls away and starts to walk along the ropes, shaking it
out. He turns and Sophie hits a dropkick. Adonis hits the mat. Sophie goes for
another pin.
1!
2!
Adonis kicks out. Sophie rolls
off. Adonis slowly gets up and Sophie turns and clubs him in the back.
Sharper: “Adonis may just be
overmatched here.”
Knots: “Sophie wants to hold
onto the title. I said that coming in. But this is just impressive. She’s
shutting him right down.”
Sophie follows up with a kick
to the ribs. She then pulls him out and hits another facebuster.
Adonis rolls over and Sophie gets up. She then looks at him and grabs his legs
and tries to roll him over. Adonis slowly down and Sophie tries to cross his
legs over, but Adonis fights it and turns and Sophie reaches over, but Adonis
forearms her in the jaw and then shoves her back. Adonis pulls himself up and
Sophie runs at him and Adonis lifts her up with one arm and hits a Uranage-type slam. The crowd
roars. Adonis slowly pulls himself up and then looks at Sophie before jumping
up and hitting an elbow drop. The crowd ohs.
He goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Sophie kicks out. Adonis rolls
off. He then starts to get up.
Sharper: “Adonis with a nearfall as he just put all of his weight onto Sophie!”
Knots: “Grappling won’t help
with that. Nor will knowing the KABLAMA Sutra!”
Sharper: “What does that have
to do with anything?”
Knots: “I get a percentage of
revenue of all sales if you buy it with the code “KennielovesKablam”!”
Sharper: “Oh lord.”
Sophie stirs and Adonis clubs
her in the back. He then scoops her up and slams her down. He then turns and
runs into the ropes, bounces off and hits a big splash. The
crowd ohs. Adonis hooks the leg.
1!
2!
Sophie shoots her shoulder up.
Adonis looks up. She then turns and grabs her and slowly starts to pull her up.
He then nails her in the ribs and then again before going to whip her into the
ropes. She bounces off and Adonis goes for a clothesline. Sophie ducks and
bounces off the other side. She jumps up for a crossbody,
but Adonis catches her and then hits a fallaway slam.
The crowd roars. Adonis goes over and then starts to pull her up. He then whips
her into the corner. Adonis looks around before going to the opposite corner.
He turns and runs after Sophie and goes for the Kablam
but Sophie moves out of the way. Adonis goes chest first and staggers back
before Sophie jumps up and takes Derek down with the Death of Wisdom. The crowd
ohs and boos.
Sharper: “Adonis missed and
Sophie took advantage, driving her knees into Adonis’ face.”
Knots: “A different kind of Kablam. Not the kind Derek Adonis wanted!”
Derek rolls over and Sophie
immediately grabs his legs and folds them over before stepping through and
falling back, locking in Wisdom.
Sharper: “From the Death of
Wisdom to Wisdom reborn. Sophie locking Derek Adonis in her
patented hold in the middle of the ring!”
Adonis reaches out as Sophie
pulls back on his head. He yells out as Cookie pounds on the mat, trying to
will Adonis on, but Adonis only holds on for a few moments longer before
tapping out. The crowd boos. Sophie holds on for a moment before letting go and
rolling off. Mark grabs the TV Title.
Phillips: “Here is your
winner, via submission, and still SCW Television Champion, Sophie O’Brian!”
The crowd boos as Mark turns
and enters the ring. Adonis rolls over in pain and Sophie turns and takes the
title from Mark and holds it over her head. She then holds it out in a crucifix
pose.
Sharper: “Sophie proud to be
TV Champion and still champion after making Derek Adonis submit.”
Knots: “And not in the way he
wants! Not in the way the KABLAMA Sutra outlines!”
Sharper: “Good lord.”
Sophie O’Brian continues to
pose as Mark points at Sophie and the crowd boos as we cut away.
Breakdown cuts backstage where
Hana Ito is standing with Katie Steward and TJ Johnson comes in and shoos her
off. The crowd boos seeing this.
TJ: “Get out! I will interview
Our Goddess!”
The crowd boos as TJ turns to
Katie.
TJ: “Katie…why are you amazing?”
Katie: “Please, TJ. You don’t
need to butter me up. But it seems like people in this company still fail to understand
that I should be given the respect I deserve. I mean…Marie Jones getting an
Adrenaline Championship shot? How about giving me that shot? Your
Goddess with gold. That is a license to print money.”
TJ: “Clearly. It’s a shame.
Add that you should be challenging for the World Tag Team Championship to
become a Supreme Champion and should be constantly under consideration for the
World Title. That’s just more symptoms of how David Helms has fixed nothing. A true shame.”
Katie: “It really is and it’s just
a symptom of all of these millennials running around, with no respect for those
who demand it. Like me…their Goddess-“
???: “Are you serious?”
TJ turns and we see Sam Raine come into view.
Sam: “You’re running your
mouth acting like you deserve everything. When’s the last time you went out
there and earned something.”
Katie: “TJ!”
TJ: “We’re going to go to
commercial. Hana! Take care of this interloper!”
TJ throws the microphone down
and he and Katie head off camera. Sam just scoffs and shakes her head. The
scene then slowly fades to black.

The lights around the arena
dim leaving the spotlights focused on the stage.
“I’ve got the gift of one-liners,
And you’ve got the curse of curves!”
The opening to “Misery Business” by Paramore suddenly hits the PA system as the
spotlights on the stage flash between pink and white and the video screens
around the arena begin to play.
Sinfully Seductive
Captivatingly Corrupt
Dark Fantasy
After a few moments, we see Syren walk out from the
back. She takes a few steps out, scanning the crowd who boo her. We then see Ravyn Taylor walk out from the back, glancing back as
Katya, Mr. D’s daughter, walks out with her. CHBK steps out after and Katya
says something to CHBK as CHBK nods. Ravyn says
something to both of them before Syren turns. CHBK
nods and Syren starts to lead them down to the ring. Ravyn walks with Katya as CHBK follows them from behind.
Sharper: “It was an
interesting night at Taking Hold of the Flame. CHBK getting involved the battle
royal. Ravyn Taylor apparently swapping numbers with
Regan, but all of that is alleged and Syren nearly
winning the Taking Hold of the Flame.”
Knots: “Since then, Sienna
Swann has been calling Syren too.”
Sharper: “And now, they’re
coming to the ring with the boss’ daughter. We’ve not seen her in three weeks, but
a lot of questions about what exactly is going on
here.”
Knots: “Syren’s
coming out with them. Is she now in the loop? What she throwing people off? Everything a damn con with these three!”
Syren reaches the ring and walks up
the steel steps and then goes along the apron and looks around with disdain. The boos continue as she enters the ring. CHBK and Ravyn Taylor reach the ring and CHBK walks up before
walking along and holding the ropes open for Katya. Ravyn
mockingly thanks CHBK as CHBK chuckles as Ravyn steps
in. CHBK is the final to enter as Syren walks over to
the opposite corner and is handed a microphone. She walks back to the middle of
the ring. Katya looks around and almost looks a bit overwhelmed. CHBK walks
over to her and says something, almost comforting her as Ravyn
turns to Syren and nods. Syren
looks out the crowd.
Knots: “Look at Katya.”
Sharper: “Almost not
comfortable out in the ring. Last time we saw her in the ring was when Red
Rayne had control of her, having brainwashed her….it’s a very different
situation. But CHBK immediately calming her down.
Obviously there is a relationship there.”
Syren scoffs a bit.
Syren: “I bet you’re all so happy
that I didn’t win the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal!”
The crowd cheers. Syren looks around.
Syren: “Instead its Giovanni Aries
and his warped mind, talking about Lizard Kings and God knows what else!”
Syren shakes her head.
Syren: “I know many of you in this
ring are probably wondering about Katya who has the pleasure of joining us
tonight. And we’ll explain some of that in a moment, but since that travesty at
Taking Hold of the Flame, it seems like someone else wants to stick their nose
in my business and I have to make it clear just how this isn’t the same old
song and dance.”
Syren sighs.
Syren: “Sienna Swann wants to face
me at Rise to Greatness.”
The crowd gives a mixed
reaction.
Syren: “It’s cute. After spending
most of the last month complaining about a match I won fair and square, she wants
to face me because she’s hoping that’s going to launch her to a World Title
shot. And the old Syren, the one who went to every
meet and greet, who did all of the promo work, who went to the morning talk
shows, who did everything for this company would see the money and see the
opportunity and see the competition and go, yeah, I’d love to face you. Plus,
personally, after what you did with the Women’s Title…RAVYN’s Women’s Title,
I’d love to just beat you on the biggest stage. But there’s a problem. It won’t
happen.”
The crowd boos. Ravyn smiles as CHBK leans in the corner. Katya looks
around.
Syren: “See, if we’re going to
start to go by twitter challenges, we should probably do them in order and that
would mean when Kennedy Street agreed to defend her title against me, I should
get that match first! So, it’s simple…give me my title rematch. Better yet, if you want to save your money on the marketing,
fearing that Kennedy may not get it done, have it at Rise to Greatness.
I’ll face whoever the champion is after Giovanni and her…maybe
even Selena if she wants to throw her name in the basket as it sounds like, and
we can end Rise to Greatness with me BACK on top. And then Sienna, maybe I’ll
think it through. But right now, you can call me out all you want. David Helms
can even show his true colours, maybe finally bend to give his wife’s friends a
favour to shut them up…I want one thing and it’s the rematch I deserve. Plain and simple. Until then Sienna, have your
representative promote the match that won’t happen all you want and just keep
showing that you wish you were me and be TOTALLY jealous.”
Syren then turns to Ravyn and CHBK. She extends the microphone to Ravyn. Ravyn then steps forward
before motioning to Katya to come forward. Katya does and looks around as the
crowd cheers a bit.
Ravyn: “Now, with that formality
given sufficient attention, a number of individuals are wondering what exactly
this young lady was doing three weeks ago when she approached Alex and myself. Now, I met her for the first time last year when I
happened to engage in a rather memorable moment in a Toronto bar and she may
have gotten a bit experimental.”
Katya blushes a bit.
Ravyn: “But Alex has known her
since she was a child and she came to us because there was a problem that…well,
she trusted Alex with and me given our brief time together. Something
that she could not see with anyone else in the professional wrestling business
and…“
We then see playing the big
screen as Ravyn continues a shot of security as we
see a cameraman running into the scene.
Ravyn: “…and given some of the
information we’ve been given, she was right to be concerned. Now-“
CHBK walks forward to Ravyn as Katya says something to CHBK. The camera catches
her saying “I told you about this.” CHBK nods as we see Ravyn
turn to CHBK as CHBK is handed the microphone. The crowd roars as we cut back
to the image on the big screen showing Trinity Street and Lucas Knight arriving
at the building. Trinity is showing a form to the security checkpoint. The
guard folds it back up and hands it to her and Trinity and Lucas are allowed
in.
Sharper: “That’s Trinity
Street! And Lucas Knight! Trinity is not allowed in SCW!”
Knots: “They’re walking
through the security checkpoint and security is letting them right in!”
Sharper: “What was on that
piece of paper?”
We then hear CHBK speaking.
The camera follows as Trinity Street and Lucas Knight walk into the building
and continue down the main walkway.
CHBK: “It seems that there is something
else that requires our immediate attention.”
We cut back to the ring.
CHBK: “I’m sorry, but we are
no longer going to remain in this ring. If anyone from SCW would like to speak
to us, they can do so through my legal representation. The
same for Syren and Ravyn.”
CHBK drops the microphone and
motions to Katya. CHBK walks over and holds the ropes open.
Sharper: “Trinity Street
arriving here at the Smoothie King Center and Dark Fantasy is flustered!”
Knots: “Or they’re just gone.
We’re not getting any more information!”
The crowd boos some more while
some cheer, hoping Trinity Street and Lucas Knight make their way to the ring. Ravyn steps through the ropes and to the floor before
helping Katya through. Syren exits last and CHBK hops
down. CHBK then tells them to go along the side and the four start
to make their exit along the side of the rampway. We
cut back to the backstage area to see Trinity Street and Lucas Knight heading
towards one area before Dean Black walks over, along with James Evans and Dillusion, stopping them. Trinity and Lucas start talking
to them before Trinity hands Dean the same note she gave security. We cut back
to the arena to see CHBK, Ravyn, Syren
and Katya walking towards one of the floor entrances to the backstage area,
walking through the curtain to the back.
COMMERCIALS
We return to Breakdown to see
a shot of the SCW Studios in Toronto. The camera pans down to see Spirit Dansby
and Shawn Winters at the desk.
Spirit: “That was unexpected.
It’s Rise to Greatness season, but we didn’t expect to see Trinity Street here
at Breakdown.”
Winters: “Can she even be
there? We’ve only seen her once before since she was forced out by CHBK. Simon Lyman’s retirement.”
Spirit: “I don’t know. But
CHBK immediately responded. And Katya was saying that she knew something.”
Winters: “They didn’t really
reveal anything, but that alone is interesting.”
Spirit: “Well, hold on a
minute. We have something unfolding in New Orleans.”
We return to the backstage area
in the Smoothie King Center to see CHBK with his bag over his shoulder. We see Syren and Ravyn dragging their
bags behind them as Katya walks with them. CHBK stops at security as Ravyn Taylor walks over to Katya and she and Syren lead her out of the building. CHBK says something to
security and nods before mockingly saluting them and walking off.
Spirit: “They’re leaving the
arena! CHBK even checking with security.”
Winters: “Probably to find out
what that note Trinity Street had. Trinity Street walking into the building and
seemingly allowed to be backstage.”
The camera remains on the
entrance for a few moments.
We then cut to see Trinity
Street, Lucas Knight, Dean Black, James Evans and Dillusion.
Dean looks at the note, handing it back, before we see David Helms walking over
to them.
Trinity: “David.”
Dean: “Already looked at-“
Lucas: “Actually, she has
something specific to him.”
David: “Well I need to look
into this. I wasn’t told all of a sudden you’re allowed. Nice to see you here-“
Trinity: “You don’t need to sugarcoat it. I know this is already a situation you’re not
pleased with because it’s an unknown and I doubt this letter is going to help
you.”
Trinity reaches into her
clutch and pulls out an envelope, revealing the SCW logo on it and hands it to
David.
Trinity: “Should explain
everything. Now since I’m here, mind if I catch up with my sister?”
David looks at the envelope
and Dean nods.
Dean: “Her other note checked
out. Signed by Olek himself.”
The crowd roars. David sighs.
David: “Alright.”
Trinity: “Excellent. And one
more thing…where is the Dark Fantasy locker room?”
David: “Look…I’m not-“
Trinity: “Just want to ensure
I avoid it for tonight.”
Lucas: “Me too.”
Dillusion then steps in.
Dillusion: “They left. Not a worry.”
Lucas: “Well this is just like
Christmas then.”
Helms: “Dean can take you to
Kennedy’s locker room.”
Dean: “Follow me.”
Dean turns and walks past
Helms and starts to lead Trinity and Lucas down the hallway. David then looks
at the envelope and turns to James and Dillusion.
David: “Make sure no one comes
to my office for the next bit. I may have to make a few phone calls.”
David turns and heads off as
James and Dillusion look at one another before we cut
away. We cut back to the studio.
Spirit: “Trinity is sticking
around. Lucas Knight, former World Champion, with her.
Talk about a twist.”
Winters: “Tonight already has
been a big night. Amy Chastaine calling it a career thanks
to the injuries suffered at Taking Hold of the Flame. Bree Mason trying to make
sure Amy’s daughter got the hint. Now Trinity Street showing
up.”
Spirit: “And we’re just
getting started. David Helms seems to have some sleuthing to do. Dark Fantasy has
left the building just as we were going to find out some more information about
this situation with Mr. D’s youngest daughter.”
Winters takes a deep breath.
Winters: “We’re just half over
here.”
Spirit: “We still have rumours
that Selena Frost is going to cash in the Trios Tournament contract tonight.
Oh, and Giovanni Aries and Kennedy Street will be meeting face to face
tonight.”
Winters: “So what you’re
saying is that who the hell knows what is going to happen? I’ve been doing this
for years. In that ring and now outside of it and I’ve never remembered a show
out of Taking Hold of the Flame where I don’t even know what to say. I’m
speechless.”
Spirit: “And David Helms just
that too. What’s he thinking? What’s in that note?”
Winters: “And he’s got plenty
more to think about. Sienna Swann is being even more forceful in her calls.
Calling out Syren is a huge deal. Regan has
approached Jason Helms. US Championship merger = huge deal. Oh yeah, then add
the Adrenaline Championship situation. Dylan Howell and Andrew Raynes, we’ve not even talked about it, that’s continuing
and now David Helms has this curveball.”
Spirit: “Already having issues
with keeping his family under control and at least focused on in-ring exploits.
It’s led AJ Helms to side with Regan Street. And AJ Helms will be in action
later, against Alexis Quinne. We at least know that’s
happening. Ace Marshall will face Justin Davis.”
Winters: “We should add that
Owen Cruze has to reset after that scene with Bree to
face Bill Barnhart and the personal issues there are only going to overflow
into something more. Gothfather is here. Aaron Blackbourne. We know Josh Woodrum
was here too.”
Spirit: “Whether he can
compete or not is a different issue.”
Winters: “I’m just going to
enjoy the ride.”
Spirit: “Any predictions about
what we may see?”
Winters pauses for a moment.
Winters: “You know, I almost want to say the only thing we can say for sure is
that Selena Frost is going to cash in her Trios contract. She was saying that
all last month. But then she showed up at Taking Hold of the Flame, entered
part of it. How badly does she want to provoke a response from Regan Street?”
Spirit: “Knowing her…really
badly.”
Winters: “So I’d expect to see
something from her.”
Spirit: “Well, we’re ready to
head back to New Orleans shortly, just after these messages. Breakdown
continues and it will return with Ace Marshall facing Justin Davis in what
could be a very intriguing match as both don’t care for Josh Hudson. Both have
been in SCW for a long time.”
Winters: “Enjoy!”
“Immortals” plays as the
camera pans out and away from the desk. We then cut to a shot of the arena in
New Orleans as we see fans returning to their seats from the
intermission as the scene slowly fades to black.

Ace Marshall vs. Justin Davis
A countdown starts on the big
screen in fast progression from five to one before "Adrenalize" hits
the speakers and the spotlights start to spin and focus in on the stage. The
fans erupt in mixed reactions as on stage Ace Marshall steps out with Oakley shades
and a black reflective jacket. Cassidy Carter comes out to join him by his
side.
ADRENALIZE ME
He pauses before raises his arms up for the crowd as strobe lights break out
throughout the arena for the crowd in different shades of red, blue and green
in rapid succession. Smoke erupts from underneath them and along the ramp way.
He snaps his fingers and bobs his head before pointing out to the crowd.
Cassidy smiles broadly while stepping in a rhythm around the stage to match the
beat.
Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall
with a twenty minute time limit. First, making his way to the ring, from
Houston, Texas, accompanied by Cassidy Carter, he is the artist formerly known
as El Angel del Cielo, Ace Marshall!”
The two make their way down the ramp. Reaching the ring Ace slides in before
standing up and running his hands through his hair, singing along with the
song. Cassidy climbs up on to the apron. Standing along it she raises her head
up to the rafters while leaning fully into the top rope. She sways her hips seductively before flipping over it, landing
inside the ring on her feet before turning and throwing her arms up and walking
toward the center of the ring just as Ace makes his way to the corner. He
climbs up it before looking out into the crowd while thrusting an arm up.
Dropping down after a moment he turns his back to the crowd before removing his
jacket and shades. He sets them to the side of the apron for an official to
grab just as the match is about to be underway.
Sharper: “Welcome back to New
Orleans. Ace Marshall had some fun at Taking Hold of the Flame. Not title shot
this year. But he is about to face Justin Davis who placed Ace on his list.”
Knots: “Yeah and you wonder
what category Ace fits in. People Davis thinks he’s better than, people he’s
never really had the chance to face on his terms…we’ll see what this all means
tonight.”
The arena goes dark and a mist
of smoke begins to gather at the top of the ramp as the opening rift of
'Sail" begins to play throughout the arena. The lights
starts to flickers as a spotlight shines on top of the ramp. Justin
Davis stands at the top of the ramp with his head lowered and a hood covering
his head. Davis lifts his head as he takes his hood off and the words
"JUSTIN DAVIS" shows on the big screen. The crowd begins to fill the
arena with roaring cheers. You can see a smile on Davis' face while nodding his
head as he begins to make his way down the ramp.
Phillips: “His opponent, making his way to the ring from Boston, Massachusetts,
he is Justin Davis!”
Davis lifts his arms up in the air as he makes his way up the steel steps and
into the ring. Once in the ring Davis circles the ring and then chooses a
random turnbuckle to climb and pose for the fans by lifting his right arm and
pointing up to the ceiling then to the crowd. He then drops down and sits in
the corner awaiting for the match to begin.
Knots: “Davis has his eyes on
Josh Hudson. We’re still waiting for that to be official.”
Sharper: “It seems like Hudson
would be a good choice for Rise to Greatness. At the same time, Josh Hudson has
been taking pot shots at Giovanni Aries on social media, and some rumours are
going around that he may be looking at Rise to Greatness as a place to cash in
his Trios Tournament shot.”
Davis looks at Ace as Ace
smirks and Cassidy looks on. The bell sounds. Davis and Ace watch one another
and start to step forward and then lunge and lock up in the middle of the ring
with a collar and elbow tie-up. They push back on one another before Davis
knees Ace in the ribs and takes him over with a headlock takedown. Ace goes
into a headscissors. Davis pushes off and gets up.
Both get up and Davis knees Ace in the ribs. He then wrenches the arm and jerks
on the arm. Ace winces and Davis elbows him in the shoulder. Ace winces and
looks around. He then reaches up and Davis turns and whips him into the ropes.
Ace bounces off and Davis goes for a back elbow. Ace ducks and bounces off the
other side and Davis hits a hip toss. Ace rolls over and gets up by the ropes only
for Davis to run at him and clothesline him over the top rope to the floor. The
crowd cheers.
Sharper: “Ace quickly sent to
the floor as Davis is ready!”
Knots: “Not just ready but knocking
him for a loop. He came to fight. He knows what this match means for him
personally! Plus, I’m always a fan of someone screwing with Ace!”
Ace slowly stirs on the floor
as Davis paces around the ring waiting. (1) Cassidy starts to pull him up. The
referee tells her to get back. She snaps at him and backs up as Ace turns to
the ring. (2) Ace rolls back in and gets up and Davis kicks him in the ribs. He
then pulls him away from the ropes, hooks him up and hits a vertical suplex. He turns and gets up and hits a stomp to the face
and then watches as Ace starts to get up. Davis walks over and nails him with a
hard right. Ace falls to the ropes. Davis whips him across the ring. Ace
bounces off. Davis goes for a back drop, but Ace lands behind him. Davis goes
for a back elbow. Ace ducks and then kicks him in the ribs. He then hits a DDT. Davis rolls over. The crowd boos as Ace sits up and
smirks.
Sharper: “Ace plants Davis and
that smile says it all.”
Knots: “Yeah. He just drove
Davis into the mat and he knows his ass-kicking is on pause!”
Davis stirs and Ace grabs him
and pulls him up. He then chops him. The crowd woos. He chops him again. More
woos as Davis falls to the ropes. Ace grabs him and goes to whip him across,
but Davis spins through and sends Ace in. Ace bounces off and hits a diving forearm smash. Davis hits the mat. He gets up and
Ace knees him in the ribs. He then double underhooks
him and hoists him up and hits a suplex. He goes for
the pin.

Ace kicks out. Both men get up
and Justin Davis kicks him in the ribs. He hooks him up for a vertical suplex and hoists him up. Ace blocks it. He tries again.
Ace blocks it again and then knees him in the ribs before then spinning around
him, grabbing him and hitting a back suplex.
Sharper: “Ace powers him over
with the suplex.”
Knots: “A little back and
forth, but Ace getting the advantage. I just want to get that smug look off his
face.”
Sharper: “Cassidy has that same
smug look as they both are looking to enjoy that Ace has the advantage right
now.”
Davis rolls over and Ace grabs
him and pushes him down and locks in a crossface. He
pulls back. The crowd boos a bit as Davis grimaces in pain. He reaches out as
the referee checks on Davis. Davis shakes his head no as He starts to push up.
Ace holds on and Davis starts to move to the ropes. He slowly moves towards the
ropes. He drags himself, inch by inch, towards the bottom rope and reaches out.
He grabs the bottom rope and the referee calls for the break.

Davis gets his shoulder up.
Sharper: “Nearfall
as Ace using his knees, using his trademarks to keep Davis down on the mat.”
Knots: “But not to take him
out. And Davis has shown he’s not exactly easy to keep down!”
Ace grabs Davis and pulls him
up. He nails him with a forearm shot and then whips him into the ropes. Davis
bounces off. Ace hits a back elbow. Davis hits the mat and rolls over. He
starts to get up and Ace grabs him and goes for the Olympic slam, but Davis
hops up and backs up. Ace turns around and Davis kicks him in the ribs and
scoops him up and hits a ribbreaker. He throws him
down. He then goes for the pin.

Ace shoots his shoulder up. Davis
looks up and turns to Ace and nails him with a hard right and then another
before pushing him away. Davis gets up.
Sharper: “Davis with a couple
of shots as he tries to weigh his options.”
Knots: “Just keep going. Hell,
the disqualification is worth it to maybe knock some sense into Ace.”
Davis then grabs Ace and pulls
him up. He then nails him with a hard right and then a second shot as Ace falls
into the ropes. Davis grabs him and whips him across. Ace however spins through
and sends Davis in and Davis bounces off and Ace catches him with a knee on the
rebound and Davis flips over in pain. He holds his ribs as Ace walks around the
ring. Davis slowly rolls over and starts to move to the ropes, but Ace walks
over and grabs him. He then hits a back suplex. He
goes for the pin.

Davis pushes him off and rolls
over. Ace turns and starts to get up. Davis rolls over and Ace grabs him and
pulls him up before whipping him into the corner. Ace runs after and Davis gets
a boot up. Ace staggers back and Davis then looks at him and runs out and
clotheslines him down.
Sharper: “Davis coming out of
the corner. Ace caught.”
Knots: “He’s not giving up.
He’s not stopping. He’s going right after Ace and I think Ace is getting a bit
cocky!”
Sharper: “Davis keeps glancing
at the entrance way too. I think he’s expecting some company. He’s been clear
about his desire to face Josh Hudson as we’ve mentioned.”
Davis turns and Ace starts to
get up and Davis kicks him in the ribs and drops him with the Fallout. The
crowd roars and Davis rolls him over and hooks the leg.

Ace gets his shoulder up.
Cassidy breathes a sigh of relief as she looks on from ringside. Davis rolls
over and looks up. He then turns and grabs Ace and starts to pull him up. He then
pulls his head in under his arm. He then looks around as the crowd cheers and
hoists him up for the Lip Sealer, but Ace spins through and lands behind him
and pulls him down with a roll-up. He pulls on the tights.

Davis kicks out and Ace falls
to the ropes. Davis pulls himself up and steps forward and Ace hits a drop toe
hold into the ropes. Ace rolls over and Cassidy suddenly nails Davis with a
hard right. The crowd ohs and boos as the bell
sounds.
Phillips: “Here is your
winner, via disqualification, Justin Davis!”
Ace turns and smirks as he
runs over and stomps Cassidy in the chest as Cassidy slides in. She shoves the
official back as the crowd boos and she starts to stomp away on Davis.
Sharper: “Cassidy with the
cheap shot. In front of the referee.”
Knots: “She’s never been a
patient one!”
Sharper: “And Cassidy and Ace
now assaulting Justin Davis. I think you’re right,
Cassidy could not wait any longer! But why? Why are
they assaulting Justin Davis?”
Ace turns and stomps Davis in
the chest and then again and again. Cassidy gets a couple of shots in before we
see several agents and officials, including Dillusion,
James Evans and Dean Black, running down from the back. Ace and Cassidy get
their shots in. James slides in first along with a couple of officials and
immediately Ace turns and kicks James in between the legs. The crowd ohs and James falls to the mat. The crowd ohs and Ace stomps away on him with Cassidy running over
and stomping him in the face and then again. Dillusion
grabs Cassidy and tries to pull her away. Ace gets a couple more shots in
before officials try to get him back. Cassidy slides past Dillusion
and runs over and dropkicks James in the face. James rolls over and out of the
ring. He holds himself and his face.
Sharper: “That’s why? They
wanted James Evans out here!”
Knots: “Well I get the
history. But they’re attacking a security guard!”
Sharper: “James Evans has a
long history with Cassidy and Ace. Remember the lengths he went to try and win
the World Title, two years ago. But he’s a different man!”
Knots: “Cassidy and Ace don’t
care.”
Cassidy and Ace are held back
as the crowd boos some more. We see Katelyn Buehler running out from the back and
going over to James Evans as we see a couple of officials drop down to check on
him. Cassidy then turns and yells at her. Katelyn looks up and climbs up onto
the apron. Cassidy tries to get to her, but she’s held back as officials pull
Katelyn down. The crowd roars as they continue to try and get free of security
and official surround. We cut back to James as he winces as the scene fades to
black.
COMMERCIALS
Breakdown returns as we see Cassidy
Carter and Ace Marshall walking backstage. Ace runs his hand through his hair
before Cassidy Carter turns to him and just suddenly kisses him on the lips.
Ace looks a bit surprised.
Ace: “Jesus…I didn’t even have
to buy you shoes.”
Cassidy: “Thank God your
little deal with Ravyn with that El Angel crap was
worth it to help us set that up. And even got Katelyn out.”
Ace: “Yeah, well-“
Cassidy: “And you know what
you’re doing next…Taking Katelyn out. She’s like foot fungus. Doesn’t just go away. But lingers for
months.”
Ace: “Uh…are you telling me
that you have a problem?”
Cassidy: “The only problem is
that Katelyn is here and trying to sell that jackass as better. No…I think it’s
time, you and I do something for us. And trust me, I already hate that you had
to bring Ravyn in just to get this going. This is now
all us. Got it?”
Ace: “Yeah…sure. Relax.
Jesus!”
Just then, we see Alistaire Allocco heading over to them. He just looks at
them stunned.
Alistaire: “What is wrong with you? I
know that you’ve never been a fan of James, but you assaulted a security guard.
Ace, Cassidy…I think we need to have a stern
discussion as I feel both of you are going down a path that is only going to
bring pain and destruction. There are better ways such as the power of
competition.”
Cassidy: “Alistaire…Shut
up.”
Cassidy then walks past her.
Ace: “One day, when you grow
up and your balls drop, you’ll understand. Until then, mommy and daddy do things,
messy things, and not always fun, but because they need to be done. One day
you’ll understand.”
Ace and Cassidy then walk off
as Alistaire turns and watches them leave.
Alistaire: “But…I’m in my twenties! I
am grown up!”
They keep walking off as Alistaire keeps looking off camera, presumably watching
them leave.
Alistaire: “Guys!....Oh
well…I’ll just have to show them that my methods work best.”
Alistaire smiles and walks off as the
crowd boos a bit.
"Tom Sawyer” by Rush
starts to play as the spotlight focuses on the top of the ramp. Immediately, the crowd rise
to their feet in a raucous ovation.
A modern day warrior
Mean, mean stride
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean, mean pride
Stepping out to the top of the ramp is "The
Cornerstone" Donovan Kayl. He steps to the side,
facing out to the crowd. As he stands atop the ramp, he throws his arm out with
each big note of the beginning musical portion. After turning his head to
survey the entire crowd, he turns to face the front of the ramp, beginning to
walk out towards the ring.
Sharper: “Donovan Kayl hoped to be the World Champion tonight. Not the case.”
Knots: “He’s not angry though.
He’s proud of Kennedy. The issue for him is that he was hoping to walk into his
hometown as World Champion, but that’s not the case.”
Kayl walks down the steel ramp and
goes to the steps. He walks up them and looks around before then starting to
walk along the apron and then steps into the ring. He looks around and starts
to walk around the ring before turning and going to the corner. He is handed a
microphone by Jason Phillips. Kayl walks back to the
middle of the ring and looks at the microphone. He looks around and the music
fades out as Kayl looks around. A “Kayl!” chant begins to break out as Donovan Kayl looks around. He nods and then starts to talk.
Kayl: “Thank you for that.”
Kayl pauses again before looking
up.
Kayl: “I was hoping to be standing
here the SCW World Champion.”
Kayl pauses again.
Kayl: “Don’t worry. I’ll get by.
And more importantly, I stand here knowing full well that Kennedy Street is
holding that World Championship, having earned it and having carried herself as
a true World Champion. I threw everything at her. But as that match went on,
she got stronger and stronger, and by the end, I had nothing left and I knew
damn well she was just getting started. As a mentor, a teacher….a brother….I
couldn’t be happier.”
Kayl pauses as he looks at the
crowd for a moment.
Kayl: “But while Kennedy Street
holds the World Title and will very likely be defending that title at Rise to
Greatness, I stand here wondering what I’m going to do. If you follow me on
social media, I said that I wasn’t going to be on any pre-show. That’s a point
of pride for me as I believe I am deserving of more. And I’m going to pull back
the curtain. I’ve been doing this a while and there’s a difference between the
pre-show and the big show. When I wasn’t on it, you’ve heard Christy Matthews
say the same, it’s a hit to the ego. Hearing sixty
thousand plus cheer for you is a feeling comparable to nothing. Doing that while winning a World Title…even more. But that’s
gone…”
Kayl pauses for a moment.
Kayl: “And I could stand here and
accept it or I could look at SCW. I could point out how Syren
is calling for title shots. Sienna is too and from my position, they may have
the skills, but they should not be next in line. We’ve had enough of the people
who feel owed to be champion. NO ONE is owed anything. Syren
can talk about how she was screwed, feeling she was given a rematch, that never
happened. Well, maybe she didn’t do enough to earn that rematch. Sienna, she’ll
be a World Champion, but acting like you’re better than these fans…I can’t
believe I’m going to say this, but the old days, you’d have been chewed up and
spit out.”
Kayl sighs.
Kayl: “What’s next for me? I’m
going to keep standing for what I feel should be. When I cashed in that Trios
contract, while I had personal reasons, it was to force Syren
to earn her spot after she was gifted it through manipulation and well, Sienna,
you’re looking to do the same. I’m never going to agree to any of that.”
Just then the lights go out.
“The Vengeful One” by Disturbed starts to play as we see a purple hue come over
the stage and we see Thirteen step out from the back.
He looks down at the ring as Donovan Kayl watches
him. Thirteen then calmly starts to walk down to the ring.
Sharper: “Thirteen? Donovan Kayl giving an impassioned speech
here.”
Knots: “Sienna Swann is
focused on Syren, while Syren’s
not even here anymore!”
Thirteen makes his way to the
ring and grabs the bottom rope and pulls himself up to
the apron. He then steps into the ring. He looks at Kayl
and steps forward and asks for the microphone. Kayl
hands it to him. Thirteen takes it and looks at him.
Thirteen: “It’s nice to see
that I’m not the only one. You may be a bit surprised to see him, given my
motions towards Blake Mason.”
Thirteen pauses.
Thirteen: “I still have every
intention to complete my dealings with him, but this has been drawn out enough.
My focus should be elsewhere. A year ago, I made sure that Kennedy Street was
who she claimed to be. She was. Well, Donovan, you say that Syren
and Sienna Swann have the talent to be legitimate champions. Syren, obviously, has won the title. But I feel I should be
the judge of that. And so Donovan, you ask what awaits you moving forward, I
think you and I have a pretty good idea.”
Thirteen brings the microphone
down. The crowd roars as “The Vengeful One” starts to play again. Thirteen then
looks at Kayl as Kayl looks
back at him.
Sharper: “He just called both
Sienna and Syren out.”
Knots: “Kayl
went so far. Thirteen went over the edge. And Blake Mason…Thirteen may be done
waiting! David! Figure it out!”
Thirteen then turns and exits
the ring and drops down to the floor. He places the microphone on the apron. He
then heads to the back slowly as Kayl watches him
leave. The crowd cheers a bit as we then cut away.
We open up to see Damian Angel
standing backstage while looking at the camera. Har
Megiddo stands behind him.
Damian: “Amazing. The World
Tag Team Champions are celebrating. The Network is making threats. And they do
not realize that we are more threatening than anything else. I hope that
Callahan and James cherish their time as champions. It will be short-lived. Our
dominance and destruction will come. And to God himself…I hope you are
watching. It is the dominance you could only dream of.”
Damian smiles as the camera
focuses on Damian Angel as he just smirks and the scene slowly fades to black.
COMMERCIALS
We open up backstage as we see
Blake Mason walking backstage when Hana Ito runs over to him.
Hana: “Blake! Can I get a
word?”
Blake sighs and stops and
turns.
Hana: “You had to have seen
what Bree did earlier-“
Blake: “I did and that’s her
matter. I no longer have a vested interest in her issues.”
Hana: “But she approached-“
Blake: “We’re no longer
together. I’d prefer to move on with other matters. I have no comment on that.
The only comment I have to publicly make is that I hope I’m in action next
week. I hope I can focus on moving on with an increased focus on my career. I
hope that I may face Thirteen to finally give him a
match we both could be proud of…even if he’s moving on.”
Blake then turns and walks off
as Hana watches him leave.
Hana: “Wait…you and Bree are
done?”
Blake just continues to walk
off.
Sharper: “Blake saying that
he’s no longer with Bree. They’re married?!”
Knots: “Well looks like Blake
finally smartened up and jumped off that ship!”
Truelove Twins in Action
We return to ringside where we
see two female wrestlers, both wearing masks similar to El Angel del Cielo,
with one having blonde hair, and the other a brunette.
Sharper: “This looks
interesting…”
Knots: “A bit familiar.”
Phillips: “Ladies and
gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for onefall
and has a fifteen minute time limit. Already in the ring, from Mexico City,
Mexico, they are El Totalmente Celoso
and El Cuervo. Together they are Fantasia Oscura!”
They throws
their arms up and El Cuervo, the brunette, drops to a
seated position in the corner.
Sharper: “I think this makes a
bit more sense now. Fantasia Oscura, in Spanish, is
Dark Fantasy.”
Knots: “You know Spanish?”
Sharper: “Enough. You don’t
live in Texas as long as I have without picking up some. Clearly
another front in this attempt to prod Syren for a
match after that original challenge on Twitter a few days ago from Sienna
Swann.”
Knots: “That’s only going to
cause them to lose their minds later when they find out. Love it!”
Sharper: “Of course, Dark Fantasy
and CHBK have left after Trinity Street’s shocking arrival earlier tonight.”
“Just A
Dream” by Nelly plays throughout the arena, a gold spotlight with blue flashers
begin to circle the entranceway. The Twins, London and Paris Truelove walk out
holding hands. They look at each other and pose for the cameras before Laura
Steinbeck walks out and nods, leading the Twins toward the ring.
Phillips: “And their opponents, accompanied by Laura Steinbeck, both from Malibu,
California, they London and Paris, the Truelove Twins!”
The Twins then make their way
down the aisle interacting with the fans as they both get to the apron at the
same time, Paris & London both hold the ropes for Laura as she slowly gets
in the ring, London follows. London then holds the
ropes for Paris as she slowly gets in the ring. They both walk to the
turnbuckles, climb to the second ropes and pose for the flashes while Laura
stands in the middle of the ring and points to the Truelove Twins. They get
down and await the match to start as Laura makes her way to the corner. El Cuervo and El Totalmente Celoso start to stretch out in their corner.
Sharper: “This match and now
you’re wondering how they got this set up.”
Knots: “Maybe this was a fight
Helms wasn’t going to have. I don’t know.”
Sharper: “But they also still
have their eyes on the World Tag Team Titles, held by Sophie James and David
Callahan.”
The bell sounds. London and
Paris then run across and both hit a double dropkick, in stereo, knocking both
back into the ropes and both fall to the mat. Laura hops onto the apron as the
referee goes over to tell her to get down. London then starts to pull Celoso up as Paris stomps away on El Cuervo
a couple of times. London then places Celoso on the
top rope and nails her with a forearm shot before climbing up to the middle
turnbuckle and then jumping up and hitting a top rope frankensteiner.
Celoso hits the mat and London turns as Paris climbs
up to the top rope. London puts Celoso in position.
London then backs up as Paris gets to the top rope and dives off with a frog
splash. The crowd ohs and Paris rolls over. El Cuervo starts to get up and goes for the eyes of Paris as
she gets up, but London kicks her in the ribs, as Paris blocks it.
Sharper: “This is just a domination.”
Knots: “Probably part of the
plan too!”
Sharper: “If anyone doesn’t
think Laura set this up with Sienna’s approval, while using it to promote
Truelove Twins!”
Knots: “And you care why? Dark
Fantasy deserves these jabs!”
Sharper: “Yeah, but I’m
getting sick of the attitudes!”
The crowd boos as London and
Paris stand in front of her. She looks up and London hits the leg sweep and
Paris hits a spinning heel kick, as they hit the Twin Killing. The crowd ohs. London then covers
her.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd boos, while some
cheer as London rolls off and Paris gets up.
Phillips: “Here are your
winners, via pinfall, the Truelove Twins.”
Sharper: “There wasn’t a tag.
There wasn’t much offense. Clearly this stunt…”
Knots: “Hey, I’m just for
anyone dragging Dark Fantasy through the mud.”
Sharper: “This pettiness…”
Knots: “But look how amazing
those double-team moves were.”
Sharper: “No doubt they can go
in the ring, but for a team talking about how it’s a foregone conclusion that
they should be the Tag Team Champions, to pull this is unbecoming of that!”
Laura smiles and applauds.
London and Paris have their arms raised above them as El Cuervo
and El Totalmente Celoso
slowly stir and roll out of the ring. London and Paris continue to celebrate as
Laura is handed the microphone from Jason Phillips. She then walks over to the
steel steps and walks up them before turning around, standing in front of the ringpost and looking out at the crowd.
Laura: “We may have had a bit
of fun…and just a reminder David…this is very simple. The IronAngel,
the next World Champion, she wants Syren and trust
me, this is a win-win move for everyone in SCW…well except Syren,
but who really cares about that arrogant schemer.”
Laura pauses as the crowd
roars a bit.
Laura: “But this match also
makes clear just how obvious it is that London and Paris should be the next
challengers to the SCW Tag Team Champions. You don’t need a man who calls
himself the Devil. You don’t need a team that can’t even work together, forcing
one member to stick with them. You don’t need a former drug addict and their
idiot boyfriend. You need something truly beautiful and so nice, you will see
it twice. You need the Truelove Twins with the Tag Team Titles!”
Laura brings the microphone
down as “Just A Dream” by Nelly starts to play. The crowd boos as London and Paris smile and both climb to a corner
and to the middle rope. They pose as the crowd boos some more and Laura
points to them.
Sharper: “Arrogance
personified.”
Knots: “Yeah, but after that match,
they deserve to be a bit arrogant.”
Sharper: “Given that they
clearly wanted to send some deeper messages, its easy for that to happen when one of the targets
left.”
Knots: “Can’t deny they
deserve a shot though?”
Sharper: “We’ll see.”
The Truelove Twins continue to
pose as we then cut away.
Backstage we see Jake Starr
standing next to Hana Ito as the crowd cheers.
Hana: “Hana Ito backstage and I’m here with Jake Starr who made his stunning return at
Taking Hold of the Flame. Jake, welcome back.”
Starr: “Thank you.”
Hana: “You went after Xander Valentine. You had your issues with him. Is he who
you’re focused on moving forward?”
Starr: “He seems to have his
eyes on Alexis Quinne and I’ll tell you this, Xander, you’re going to have your hands full with her.
She’s a feisty one. But I made my return and more wanted Xander
to remember I’m not dead yet. He wants to come for another round,
I’ll be right up there. But as far as I’m concerned, I’m like the kid looking
at that scary roller coaster, but antsy to get on it and wanting to see if I’ll
throw up at the end. Because I’ve done this rodeo a few
times. It’s a very different situation, but it doesn’t mean I’m not
looking forward to Rise to Greatness. So…whoever wants me, I’m taking
applications. Because right now, I’m back, I’m ready to kick ass and frankly,
at the stage of my career…I don’t get to do that for too much longer and I’m
going to make good on it!”
The crowd roars as Jake turns
to Hana.
Hana: “Sounds good to me.
We’ll check in with you in the future. Breakdown will continue after this!”
The scene then slowly fades to
black.
COMMERCIALS
Breakdown returns as we see
Jessica Winters standing outside of the office of David Helms.
Jessica: “Welcome back to
Breakdown. I’m still waiting outside of the office of the Commissioner, David
Helms, who has been locked in his office, having phone calls with presumably
SCW officials after Trinity Street’s sudden arrival. I was hoping to get a word
with him about the match as given the barbs with Dark Fantasy in the Truelove
Twins’ opponents seems interesting at the very least and-“
The door opens and we see
David Helms walk out, with his briefcase. Jessica turns to him.
Jessica: “David…can I…you seem to be getting ready to leave? I was going to
ask you-“
David: “Nothing to ask me. I’m
no longer the Commissioner. So I’m going back to the hotel and I’m going to
look forward to spending some time with my wife after the show and not have to
overthink every decision.”
Jessica: “Was this anything to
do with the match that just happened?”
David: “No.”
Jessica: “So then why agree
to….David?”
David: “No longer Commissioner.”
David just walks off as
Jessica looks stunned. The camera keeps filming David as he continues to walk
down the hallway. We then cut back to ringside to see Adam Sharper and Jonathan
Knots at the announce table.
Sharper: “David Helms is gone?”
Knots: “Looks like it. He just
said so. Didn’t say he quit though. Is this about Trinity?”
Sharper: “I don’t know. Didn’t
say it was about the match we just saw. Didn’t say anything like that. He’s
just gone. And I wonder…who is going to control Regan? That’s one of the
reasons he was brought in?”
Knots: “Did the Board change
their mind? Did….And we don’t even know what was in that envelope that Trinity
gave David!”
Sharper: “More questions than
answers as David Helms is no longer commissioner! Who’s in
charge?!”
Bill Barnhart vs. Owen Cruze
“Confident” by Demi Lovato
begins to play as the lights in the arena go dark. We watch as pink spotlights flash
around the entrance area. After a short time we see “Bulldog” Bill Barnhart
step out from the backstage area with his English Bulldog,
Iris, strutting along beside him. Iris is wearing a pink diamond-studded dog
collar and there is a pink leash attached to the collar and the leash trails
behind her as she comes down the entrance ramp toward the ring. The fans don’t
particularly care for Bill Barnhart and they let him know it with boos and
taunts.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall with a fifteen
minute time limit. First, on his way to the ring, from Lawrenceville, Georgia,
he is Bulldog Bill Barnhart!”
Barnhart ignores them as he is
here to wrestle and not cater to the fans. Even as the fans yell louder at him
and throw trash at him he ignores them. When Barnhart arrives at the ringside
area he bends down and grabs the leash of Iris and hands it to a ringside
assistant who holds onto the leash and keeps Iris at ringside to watch Bill’s
match. Barnhart gives Iris a kiss on the nose and then he climbs the ring steps
to the ring apron. Bill then walks along the ring apron and when he reaches the
middle of the ropes he ducks through the ropes into the ring. He walks around
the ring playing the crowd but that only incites them to boo him more. Barnhart
again ignores the fans as he backs into a corner to await the start of his
match.
Sharper: “Barnhart has had
issues with Cruze, with Blackbourne,
with Woodrum. Owen Cruze about to have an opportunity to face Barnhart.”
Knots: “Woodrum,
Blackbourne, they’ll be watching. So will Gothfather. But what about that person we saw at Taking
Hold of the Flame?”
Sharper: “Casterillo.
Came out and Gothfather immediately went for him,
even interjecting into the battle royal which he wasn’t a part of.”
The lights dim and flicker, as
a voice booms throughout the arena.
“All I ever wanted was to leave a legacy. Something with which I would be
remembered”
The voice is easily recognizable, and an ‘Icon’ chant starts to roll through
the arena, as Steven Coopers ‘Born to Do’ kicks in, Owen Cruze
stepping nervously out onto the stage.
Phillips: “His opponent, from Los Angeles, California, he is Owen Cruze!”
With a simple nod and a salute, Owen makes his way down the rampway
towards the ring. Owen jumps up onto the apron and turns, leaning back against
the ropes, his arms either side of him. Owen steps into the ring and makes his
way to every side of the ring applauding the fans with a huge grin on his face
before standing in the center of the ring, and looking up at the arena lights
nodding his head. Owen then runs to the ropes and bounces off them, before
heading to his corner and waiting for the match to begin. Barnhart just looks
at him as the crowd cheers a bit.
Sharper: “Owen Cruze showed the world what he is capable of. He started at
number one in the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal. He lasted over an
hour.”
Knots: “Yeah, but that just
means a bigger bullseye and Bulldogs like to pee on bullseyes!”
Sharper: “What?”
Knots: “Didn’t you know? They
do it for sport. It’s the newest thing after esports
on Twitch.”
The bell sounds. Barnhart then
steps forward, but Owen runs over and jumps up and nails Barnhart with a
forearm shot. The crowd roars as Owen nails him again and again. Barnhart falls
into the corner. Owen kicks him in the ribs and then again and again and again.
The referee calls for the break .

Owen then backs up and
Barnhart winces a bit before then moving out of the corner and catching Owen with
a back elbow. Owen staggers back and Barnhart runs over and nails him with a
hard right before nailing him in the ribs with a right hand. He then spins
around him and grabs him in a waistlock. Owen
struggles but Barnhart hoists him up and just throws him down on his side. Owen
turns and Barnhart stomps him in the back. Owen rolls over to the corner.
Sharper: “A fight breaking out
here as Owen Cruze was ready to go.”
Knots: “But so was Barnhart.
He took that volley and came back and said, okay, let’s do this. He’s coming
off the hardcore match with Woodrum
where he may have very well broken his arm!”
Sharper: “Woodrum
did have a brief match before we went on air. Officials
wanting to see whether he could compete with a soft cast. Rumours are
that Woodrum’s arm was fractured thanks to Barnhart
two weeks ago!”
Barnhart moves in and clubs
Owen in the back. He clubs him again and then pushes him up in the corner and
hits a forearm smash to Owen’s chest. He then grabs him and throws him out of
the corner. Owen rolls over and gets up and Barnhart walks over and kicks him
in the ribs. He then scoops him up and slams him down. Owen winces and Barnhart
stomps him in the face. Owen turns and grabs at the ropes. Barnhart then walks
over and grabs him and whips him across the ring. He bounces off and Owen then
jumps up and hits a spinning heel kick. The crowd roars. Barnhart slowly gets
up and turns to Owen who jumps up and hits a dropkick. He goes for the pin.

2!
Barnhart kicks out. He turns
and grabs at the ropes. Owen then walks over and goes to whip him across the
ring. Barnhart spins through and sends him in. Owen bounces off and Barnhart
just drills him with a hard clothesline. Owen slowly starts to get up and
Barnhart wrenches the arm and elbows him in the shoulder.
Sharper: “Barnhart going for
the shoulder. At Taking Hold of the Flame, he did try to do just that to Owen! Tried to go for his Barnhart Shoulder Breaker!”
Knots: “If he does it here, he
can get the submission. Submissions didn’t count at Taking Hold of the Flame!”
He elbows him again and then
turns and starts to go for an overhead wrist lock. Owen fights it off and then
kicks him in the leg. He kicks him again and runs into the ropes. He bounces off
and Barnhart goes for a clothesline. Owen ducks and jumps to the middle ropes
and dives back with a back kick to the jaw. Barnhart hits the mat. He starts to
get up and Owen grabs him and pulls him back with a neckbreaker.
He then goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Barnhart kicks out. Owen looks
up and turns and grabs Barnhart. He pulls him up and drags him to his feet. He
nails him with a hard right and then another. He pushes him into the ropes and
goes to fire him across, but Barnhart spins through and sends him in. Owen
bounces off and Barnhart scoops him up and powerslams
him down. He then gets up and walks around the ring as the crowd boos. Barnhart
just looks out and laughs.
Sharper: “Hard powerslam and Barnhart’s experience may be the factor
here.”
Knots: “Owen’s trying to keep
it up, but Barnhart just saw the counter, hoisted him up and said, back off,
this is my sandwich!”
Sharper: “Really? Referencing
commercials from a decade ago?”
Knots: “The difference in
experience….plus a bit more, between Owen and Barnhart!”
Owen slowly stirs as Barnhart
then walks over and grabs him from behind and forearms him in the back. He then
hoists him up and hits an atomic drop. Owen grimaces and Barnhart then drills
him from behind with a hard clothesline. Owen hits the mat and rolls over.
Barnhart goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Owen kicks out. Barnhart looks
up. He turns and grabs Owen and pulls him up. He then nails him in the ribs
again before spinning him around and locking in a sleeper hold. He pulls back
as Owen reaches around. The crowd boos. Barnhart smiles as Owen staggers
forward a bit before dropping to a knee. Barnhart leans on him as the crowd
boos. The referee checks on Owen as he starts to fade. Barnhart keeps squeezing
as the referee checks on Owen’s arm. He shakes it a bit as Owen keeps
struggling and holds it up as he grabs at Barnhart’s head and pulls himself up.
Barnhart keeps holding on and tries to force him down, but Owen turns and
elbows him in the ribs. He elbows him again and then drops down and hits a jawjacker. Barnhart staggers back, holding his jaw. Owen
slowly starts to get up and Barnhart walks back over as the crowd roars.
Sharper: “Owen fighting out! Elbows and then the jawjacker!”
Knots: “Barnhart coming back
though!”
Barnhart grabs at Owen and
Owen then grabs Barnhart and hits a jawbreaker. Barnhart staggers back and
falls forward before Owen jumps up and hits a dropkick, knocking him down. Owen
rolls over. The crowd cheers. Owen slowly starts to get up. Barnhart pulls
himself up and Owen then runs at him and jumps up and floats over and hits a DDT. Barnhart rolls to his back. Owen turns and hooks the
leg.
1!
2!
Barnhart gets his shoulder up.
Owen rolls over and starts to get up and Barnhart stirs. Owen backs up to the corner.
He waits for Barnhart to get up. Barnhart turns and gets to his feet and Owen
lunges and goes for the Morality, but Barnhart blocks it. He then spins him
around and nails him with a clothesline. Owen hits the mat and rolls over.
Barnhart waits and nails Owen with a forearm and then another. He then kicks
him in the ribs. He turns and whips him into the corner. Owen however jumps up
and spins around to a seated position in the corner. Barnhart runs at Owen and
Owen gets a boot up. Owen then climbs up to the top rope as Barnhart falls to a
knee.
Sharper: “Owen again finding a
way to make an opportunity. That agility is his biggest strength.”
Knots: “Think fast. Barnhart’s
dazed for now!”
Owen then dives off with the Cruze Missile. The crowd roars. He then looks around as
Barnhart slowly rolls over and gets to his knee. Owen gets up as the crowd
roars. He runs into the ropes past Barnhart and bounces off them before running
across, before we see Gothfather running down the rampway and hopping onto the apron and pulling down the top
rope. Owen goes up and over, landing on the floor. The crowd boos as Owen falls
over. Gothfather turns and stomps him in the face and
then again as the bell sounds.
Sharper: “Gothfather
from the back! He knew Owen was going for the Cruze
Stomp. That would’ve been it.”
Knots: “And Gothfather is going right after Owen. Just
stomping away!”
Barnhart slowly stirs as Gothfather nails him with stomp after stomp after stomp. We
then see Aaron Blackbourne running out on the floor
and heading over to the rampway. He climbs up onto
the rampway as Gothfather
uses the barricade for leverage to get more stomps in. Aaron pops up as the
lights suddenly go out. The crowd roars.
Sharper: “The lights are out.
Aaron Blackbourne was about to make the save.”
Knots: “You can’t see anything
here!”
A few moments pass as the
crowd cheers and some murmur before a lightning strike is heard and flames
shoot out of the stage. We then see the lights return as Casterillo
stands in the middle of the ring. Barnhart sees him on the big screen and turns
and Casterillo drills him with the Thunder Run. The
crowd roars as Gothfather turns and sees him. Aaron
goes to Owen and pulls him away as Gothfather turns
to the ring. He goes to the apron as Owen holds himself in pain and starts to
pull himself up. Aaron looks at the ring. Barnhart rolls over as Gothfather stands at the apron and looks in the ring. We
then see officials running down from the back.
Sharper: “Casterillo!
We saw him at Taking Hold of the Flame. He has to have some history with Gothfather!”
Knots: “Gothfather
came out at Taking Hold of the Flame and now, he’s stopped going after Owen and
is focused right on this man!”
Sharper: “Even Aaron and Owen keeping
their distance to be sure. They don’t know what to think of him.”
Officials come over and run
around Owen and Aaron. They get to the ring as the crowd boos. Several slide
into the ring and get between Casterillo and Gothfather as Barnhart rolls to the floor. Iris runs over
and starts to lick his face as the crew member watches the ring to be sure. Casterillo just blankly stares at Gothfather
as Gothfather glares back.
“Immortals” by Fall Out Boy starts to play as we open up to see a shot of Selena
Frost standing backstage talking to an official.
Sharper: “It’s a wild night so
far, but things may be able to explode in a few moments.”
Knots: “She’s doing it?”
Sharper: “We were told earlier
tonight that next, Selena Frost had asked for time in the ring and David Helms,
but Helms is gone. I think she planned to cash in the Trios Tournament contract
as she’s threatened to do for weeks. Is that the case? We’ll find out next,
here on Breakdown.”
The scene fades to black.
COMMERCIALS
We return to Breakdown where
we see Owen Cruze and Aaron Blackbourne
in the backstage area.
Owen: “I don’t know who the
hell that is…”
Aaron: “Relax. They’re clearly
going after Gothfather and Barnhart-“
We then see Josh Woodrum walk into the room and goes over to Gothfather and Barnhart.
Owen: “Josh, look-“
Josh: “You something,
Owen…Aaron…I think you two have done plenty here. But well…”
Josh holds up his hand that’s
in a soft cast.
Josh: “I think both of you
have bigger and better things, especially you Owen, after what you did at Taking
Hold of the Flame and Aaron, what you did against Christy. Let this Casterillo dude and I, we’ll take care of Barnhart and
Goth. I have a receipt of my own to give him.”
Aaron looks at Owen, before
Owen then steps up to Josh Woodrum.
Owen: “Josh…I appreciate it.
But we’ll do just that…after Aaron and I get one more shot at Gothfather and Barnhart and remind them that they’ll never
get one over on us!”
Aaron: “Gotta
agree with Owen…but then after, you and this new guy, you two can do whatever
you want to Bill and Gothfather.”
Josh: “Sounds good to me.”
The crowd roars as we then cut
to the ring.
We open up to see Regan Street
walking down to the ring with Mikaela Street trying to stop her. Regan keeps
going and pulls away from Mikaela Street.
Sharper: “A clearing of the
air backstage, but we may have something else.”
Knots: “Regan’s out. Helms is gone. No one is here to stop her!”
Sharper: “And Regan Street
already has gone after Jason, but rumours have been running rampant that Regan
is ready to take out Selena.”
Knots: “Also that Josh Hudson
was going to use his Trios contract to counter Selena’s if she did.”
Sharper: “So much going on
here.”
Knots: “Kennedy’s already the
most wanted World Champion!”
Regan hops onto the apron and
enters the ring. Mikaela heads around the ring, but Regan runs over and goes to
the corner and snaps at Jason Phillips.
Regan: “Give me a microphone-“
Mikaela: “Jason…no-“
Regan: “Give me one or I’ll
make sure you’re finding out how fun swimming is in the Gulf of Mexico!”
Mikaela just look at Jason as Jason
turns and immediately hands Regan one. Mikaela rolls her eyes and turns and
slides into the ring. She tries to get up to get Regan’s attention, but Regan
turns to the middle of the ring, looking at the entrance way.
Regan: “Well looks like the
boss is gone. No one is here to stop me and I feel like causing a few problems
knowing full well I’ve been playing good girl for long enough. You eliminate me
from the battle royal and you keep talking about how you want to keep me from
main event of Rise to Greatness. That’s all well and good Selena, but I think I
got a solution and it’s you bring your Snow Queen ass out here and I believe
I’ll take that Trios contract, shove it up your and then drop you on your head
and you can join Amy Chastaine as the crippled
section of this company!”
The crowd ohs
as Regan paces.
Regan: “You wanted to face me
a couple of weeks ago. Well Selena, here you go. And trust me, I already had a
blast taking Mr. D, dropping him on his head and trust me, best decision I
made. You want me, here I am and we can even fight until you find yourself in
the same situation as Mr. D, struggling to breathe through your neck collar
while I’m still showing that THIS INDUSTRY is run by me.”
Regan keeps pacing as Mikaela
shakes her head.
Knots: “Mikaela has given up
on stopping Regan!”
Sharper: “No one is out here
to stop her, and David Helms’ is gone.”
Regan: “Selena…now you’ve got
a yellow streak. What do I have to do? Maybe I have to find your newborn and
see if they bounce like a football that’s spiked on the odd occasion the Saints
actually score a touchdown-“
The crowd ohs.
Sharper: “Come on…We apologize
for these comments. This is just sick.”
Knots: “She doesn’t care!
She’s trying to-“
Sharper: “It’s Selena. Selena
just had a new girl with her wife Deanna and Regan crossed a line!”
Selena bolts out of the back
and runs down to the ring. The crowd roars as Regan holds the microphone and
starts to give Selena a come at me motion. Selena just slides into the ring. She
gets up and Regan swings the microphone at her, trying to nail her in the
forehead, but Selena ducks and spins around and kicks Regan in the ribs before
spearing her down. The crowd erupts in cheers as Selena nails Regan with a hard
right and then another and another and another. She starts to throw rights and
lefts as Regan covers up and Mikaela comes over and grabs Selena and starts to
pull her off as Regan moves to the ropes. Selena rolls over and Mikaela tries
to keep Selena back, but Selena turns and then nails Mikaela with the Glass
Shard. The crowd ohs and Mikaela hits the mat.
Sharper: “Mikaela trying to
pull Selena off!”
Knots: “Glass Shard! Selena
just took out Regan’s sister!”
Sharper: “Selena’s fighting on
pure fury and Mikaela in the way!”
Regan looks at Selena as
Selena turns back and Regan runs over and spears her down. Regan moves to a
mount and just tattoos Selena with hard right hands, not holding back, using
Selena’s shot at Mikaela as the impetus. She nails her over and over and over
again before turning and looking at the microphone. She then crawls over to it
and grabs it and turns and goes to drive it into the head of Selena, but Selena
moves out of the way. Regan turns and looks at Selena and Selena nails her with
a shoot kick to the ribs and then again and again. Regan takes shots in the
ribs as Selena then hits a shoot kick to the head and Regan spins off. Selena
then turns and mounts Regan and goes over to her and nails her with a hard
right and then another and another. Regan covers up as Selena nails her again
and gets up and looks around.
Sharper: “Selena with the
advantage again. I’ve never seen her like this. Just scrapping like this.”
Knots: “If you had told me
Regan and Selena were going to have a fight, I’d put it on Regan, but Regan
definitely crossed a line!”
Sharper: “Selena is seeing red
right now….and now she’s thinking something else.”
Selena turns and moves to the
floor. She then looks under the ring and grabs a steel chair. She then starts
to get up and onto the apron, holding the chair up as the crowd cheers. We then
see Regan run over and lunge at her, shouldering her in the ribs. Selena falls
off the apron and to the mat, landing on her feet and falling back into the
announce table. Selena drops the chair as Regan then drops to the floor. She
then turns and runs at Selena and jumps up and nails her with a clothesline,
knocking her onto the announce table. Regan turns and rolls over. Regan then tunrs and nails her with a couple of hard right hands as
Selena is on the table.
Sharper: “Right in front of
us!”
Knots: “I can hear that
through my headset. Each shot!”
Regan then looks around and
she grabs Selena by her hair and drags her onto the table. Regan then stomps
her in the face before stepping forward and looking around and grabbing Selena.
She then looks at her.
Regan: “Get ready to join Amy
in retirement, Selena!”
She then knees her in the head
as Selena is dazed. Regan then pulls her up and places her head between her
legs. She then looks around and the crowd roars.
Sharper: “Regan…no!”
Knots: “She’s going to piledrive her…she’ll be suspended through Rise to
Greatness!”
Sharper: “Is that was piledriving Selena is worth it? On our
table?”
Knots: “Or off it?”
Mikaela yells at Regan to
stop.
Mikaela: “You’ll miss Rise to
Greatness?”
Regan: “Worth it to take this
piece of sh*t out!”
Regan then starts to lift
Selena up, but Selena kicks her legs and blocks it. She then goes to lift her
up again, but Selena lifts her up and back drops her off the table and onto the
mats next to the announce table. The crowd ohs and Regan rolls over, holding her back. Selena
falls to her knees on the table.
Sharper: “Thank God! Selena
counters!”
Knots: “Look at Mikaela!”
Mikaela grabs Regan and starts
to drag her away from Selena as Selena slowly turns and looks at them. The
crowd boos as Regan starts to get up. Mikaela spins her around. Regan starts to
go past her and Mikaela forcibly starts to hold her back. Selena then stands on
the announce table.
Selena: “Want to piledrive me? Come on! Try again! I dare you!”
Regan’s eyes widen as she
tries to get past Mikaela. Mikaela shoves her back and Regan goes to nail
Mikaela, before Mikaela throws her arms up.
Mikaela: “I’m not going to let
you throw your career away for her!”
Regan just looks at Selena
before turning to Mikaela. Regan then turns and goes to the ring and goes to
hop onto the apron, but Mikaela grabs her and pulls her down. Selena hops off
the announce table and slides into the ring. She runs over and goes to grab at
Regan, to pull her in, but Mikaela gets Regan back and pulls her back. Josh Hudson out at the ring and starting to help Mikaela.
The crowd boos. Selena then turns and goes over to the corner and starts to
climb up and Hudson and Mikaela keep pushing away Regan away as she keeps
trying to get free, just moving her around as Regan tries to get past. The
crowd boos as we cut away.
COMMERCIALS
DURING THE BREAK:
We open up to see Selena Frost getting held back by a couple
of officials as Regan is getting held back by Josh Hudson, Mikaela Street and
now AJ Helms.
Sharper: “Welcome back to
Breakdown. During the commercial break, the situation only continued to unfold
between Regan and Selena!”
Regan: “Let me go. David’s gone. You saw what I did to D!”
Mikaela: “Calm down!”
Selena: “Let her go. I’ll take her out right here!”
Regan: “Sure thing Princess!”
Officials keep Selena back as a few go over to Mikaela
and Josh. Josh snaps at them.
Josh: “Take care of her. We have her.”
The Breakdown logo then comes up on the screen.
We return to Breakdown to see
Regan Street with Mikaela Street, Josh Hudson and AJ Helms by the tunnel.
Regan: “Why the hell are you
even holding me back? We could be done with her!”
Mikaela: “And all of this
after you called out Jason. And all of this after you’d be off Rise to
Greatness. You keep talking like that title is the biggest, you’re making sure
this is all people are going to remember you for.”
Regan looks back and turns
around before turning to Josh.
Regan: “Whatever you do. If
she cashes in, if you’re not, I’ll make have to explain to your wife while
you’re now a eunuch. She is not walking out with the God damned World Title.”
Regan then turns to AJ.
Regan: “And kick Alexis’ ass!”
Regan turns and storms off as
Mikaela turns to AJ briefly before heading off after Regan. Josh turns to AJ.
Josh: “Hell of a pep talk…just
know what happens if you lose. Family or not…she’s going to ride you to make
sure you get everything you deserve in this business.”
AJ: “That’s why I’m here.”
Josh pats AJ on the back and
AJ turns and heads to the tunnel.
AJ Helms vs. Alexis Quinne
The eyes all focus on the
stage as A Stranger I Remain hits over the P.A System. The lights begin to
flash violet, silver and black crowd starts to buzz and cheer. As the crowd
looks on and the song kicks into gear, smoke fills up the stage. The lights
continue to flash black and purple. From there, the crowd sees Alexis Quinne walk out dressed in black and purple Varsity Jacket,
and a half white, half black and purple V for Vendetta mask with El Rudo's mask around her neck and a black baseball bat in her
hands. Quinne looks around the arena before she begins
walking down to the ring.
Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall
and is your main event of the evening with a thirty minute time limit. First,
on her way to the ring, from San Francisco, California, she is Alexis Quinne!”
Alexis walks down to the ring, looking around the ring. The camera does a full
rotation as Quinne walks past it, flashing Rudo's mask. Quinne stops
mid-way. She looks around before un masking herself.
The crowd cheers as Alexis looks around. She then
keeps walking past the camera. She gives a fan a knuckle pound before walking
up the steel steps. Alexis turns to the crowd as thee
cheer her. She ascends up the top turnbuckle and Alexis then yells to the
crowd, who cheer. The lights inside the ring flash black and purple as Alexis
flashes the crowd the peace sign before shortly turning it into a fist. Alexis
looks around at the crowd before she jumps into the ring. Quinne
removes her jacket and tosses her V for Vendetta mask out to the crowd. She
goes to the corner; before placing Rudo's mask around
the turnbuckle. She then places the baseball bat on the apron as well before
climbing up to the top turnbuckle and sitting on it, waiting for her opponent.
Sharper: “Main event here
tonight in New Orleans. This will be a very interesting contest if only for the
new dynamic with AJ Helms. Alexis Quinne had a pretty
intense rivalry with PPF to start the year and AJ seems to be firmly a part of
that.”
Knots: “And with everything
else going on tonight, is AJ going to focus. Can Alexis focus? Xander Valentine and her clashed again at Taking Hold of
the Flame and it led to both getting tossed from the battle royal!”
The lights in the arena cut
completely and silence fills the room for a moment before “Rise Up” by Asking
Alexandria blasts over the speaker system and the crash of the first drumbeat
triggers a single spotlight on the stage. In the spotlight, we see AJ Helms
standing with his back to the fans, the hood of his sleeveless jacket up over
his head. In one fluid motion he spins around and stoops for a minute before
throwing the hood back and his arms up in the Self High Five. He holds the pose
for a second before jumping and breaking the hands apart, single pyros erupting
with a ‘Bang’ on either side of the stage, which trigger the house lights to
raise again as AJ smirks and starts to make his way to the ring.
Phillips: “Her opponent, from Asbury Park, New Jersey, now fighting out of
Hollywood California; representing Past, Present, Future, he is AJ Helms.”
Reaching the bottom of the ramp, AJ gives a burst of speed and runs to the
ring, jumping up and sliding in leg first before popping back up and running to
the corner where he scales the turnbuckles and throws his arms into another
Self High Five. He pushes back as he breaks the hands apart and turns to land
facing the middle of the ring again. Walking over to the ropes, he leans into
the camera at ringside and mouths the word “BANG” into it before removing his
jacket and handing it off to the outside. Turning, he settles back into the
corner and waits for the start of the match.
Sharper: “AJ Helms firmly in
the camp of his adopted mother, Regan Street. You wonder how much he got
regarding David Helms, his adopted father leaving. He’s apparently gone.”
Knots: “Is that going to be
good or bad? He wasn’t thrilled about him coming in and he decided to pick
family over everything else. Gotta love it.”
Sharper: “Regan certainly
loves it. Jason Helms the only one not involved in PPF and that could be taken care
of sooner or later with the US Title situation. But AJ Helms needs to focus on
this match. Alexis Quinne and AJ Helms are people
that whoever is going to be calling the shots may see as a future contender. Quinne’s been to the top, but hasn’t been able to put it
all together since PUNK HAZARD was destroyed.”
Knots: “Think about what
Alexis Quinne could be thinking regarding World
Hazard. That’s now firmly a Dante McCaffery
property!”
The bell sounds as AJ looks
across as Quinne shakes her head at him. AJ scoffs as
the two of them walk around the ring. The crowd cheers a bit. AJ then moves in
and goes for a collar and elbow tie-up, but Alexis lunges and slides under the
arms. She gets up and clubs him in the back and then again. AJ goes for a back
elbow, but Quinne ducks and steps forward and kicks
him in the ribs with a hard shot. She hits another back kick and AJ winces. Quinne runs into the ropes. She bounces off and AJ goes for
a clothesline. Quinne ducks and bounces off the other
side and goes for the flying headscissors
and takes AJ down. AJ rolls over and moves to the corner.
Sharper: “Quinne
flying here to start. AJ can’t figure out where she’s coming from.”
Knots: “Come on AJ. This is
your type of match. You want it fast pace!”
Sharper: “Quinne
seems to have his number early!”
Quinne heads over as AJ starts to
get up and Quinne jumps up and lands on his knees.
She falls back and manages to hit a monkey flip. AJ rolls over and starts to
get up. Quinne gets up and runs at him and goes for
another flying headscissors, but AJ shrugs her off
and Quinne lands on her feet. AJ then drills her with
a clothesline. The crowd ohs and AJ flips in the air.
She rolls over and AJ starts to get up. Alexis grabs at the ropes and starts to
get up and AJ grabs her and whips her across the ring. She bounces off and AJ
launches her into the air with a flapjack. Quinne
then falls to the mat and rolls over, holding her ribs in pain. AJ goes for the
pin.
1!
2!
Quinne kicks out. AJ gets up and
grabs her by the hair and lift her up. The referee reprimands him and AJ knees
her in the ribs. He then hooks her up and hoists her up and hits a vertical suplex. He then gets up and jumps up and hits a huge knee
drop to the face. He goes for the pin, folding her up with a leg hook.
1!
2!
Quinne kicks out.
Sharper: “AJ Helms with a huge
knee drop. Only gets a two though.”
Knots: “Just think. For both,
this match could set the tone for their path to Rise to Greatness. AJ’s first
as a member of PPF! Quinne’s first getting Xander Valentine’s ire!”
Sharper: “First under PPF…the
formed last fall!”
Knots: “Still true!”
Sharper: “They’re working with
Bree Mason.”
Knots: “Bree sucks, but they
don’t!”
Quinne rolls over and AJ grabs her and
pulls her up and whips her into the ropes. She bounce
off and AJ jumps up and hits a leg lariat. Quinne
hits the ropes and rolls over. Helms gets up and turns
and grabs her and pulls her up. He then hoists her up for a suplex,
but Quinne spins through and lands behind AJ. AJ
turns and Quinne jumps up and hits a dropkick. The
crowd roars. AJ falls back to the ropes. Quinne then
gets up. She runs at AJ and jumps up and hits a crossbody,
knocking him up and over the top rope to the floor. The crowd
ohs. AJ rolls to his back and is down on the
mat. Quinne winces and grabs at the ring apron. (1)
We then see Xander Valentine walk out from the back.
The crowd boos as Xander looks down at the ring and
slowly makes his way down the rampway.
Sharper: “Wait a minute. No
music this time. Xander Valentine on his way to the ring!”
Knots: “Quinne
may not even know!”
Sharper: “Still trying to get
up. The referee noticed him though!”
Xander takes a few steps forward and
the official drops down from the ring and moves over to him. He tells him to
leave. Xander just looks at him before looking at Quinne and then grabs the official by the throat. He then
turns and lifts him up and choke throws him onto the rampway.
The crowd ohs from the impact and Xander
turns back. Quinne then looks over and sees him and Xander steps forward and Quinne
runs over and kicks him in the ribs and then again and again. The crowd cheers.
Sharper: “Quinne
going right for Xander! Not hiding at all!”
She nails him again and again,
now with forearms and AJ then gets up and clubs her in the back. She falls over
and Helms then backs up, holding his hands up. The crowd boos. Helms then
points to Quinne.
Helms: “All yours! All
yours…just remember…me, not your problem.”
Xander looks at him as Helms backs
up and points to Quinne.
Sharper: “I don’t believe it.
Three months ago if you told me that Helms would back down like this, I’d have
told you you’re nuts!”
Knots: “No need to have a
fight you don’t need to take! And you never need to fight Xander!”
Xander Valentine glances at Helms as
Helms keeps backing up to the barricade. Xander then
grabs Quinne and pulls her up by her hair and hoists
her up over his head. He then turns and tosses her back into the ring. Xander then grabs the ropes and steps up onto the apron. He
then steps into the ring. Helms backs up to the rampway
and starts to head to the back. Xander then looks at Quinne as Quinne slowly gets up
and knees her in the stomach. Quinne falls to the mat
and Xander grabs her and drags her up by the hair. He
then shakes his head.
Sharper: “Just looking at her.
Almost thinking of what she can do.”
Knots: “This is bad. Bad if
you’re Alexis Quinne! She is part of the reason Xander Valentine isn’t going to Rise to Greatness!”
Xander then turns and lifts her up
and places her on the top rope. Xander then walks
over and headbutts her. Quinne
leans back, but remains upright. Xander then walks
over and steps up to the middle rope. He bends her over and double underhooks her. He looks around as the crowd boos. He then
powers Quinne up and jumps back, driving her to the
mat with the Martial Bane. The crowd ohs.
Quinne is laid out. Xander
then looks down at her. He calmly steps back as the crowd boos. He then turns
to Jason Phillips and steps over the top rope. He drops down.
Knots: “Oh, I’m getting the
hell out of here.”
Xander then grabs the microphone
from Phillips. Phillips looks terrified as he holds his hands up. Xander then turns to Quinne and
steps over the steel steps. He walks around the ring and turns to Quinne, looking at her downed body in the ring from the
floor.
Xander: “Alexis….”
The crowd roars.
Xander: “That’s my final message to
you. You have a choice. And I dare SCW to sanction this. I challenge you to one
match in two weeks. You can either face me and I destroy you in the ring for
good…or you run. You leave and you still at least have a life ahead of you. You
have one week to decide.”
Quinne remains down as Xander keeps looking in the ring.
Xander: “I have no interest to keep
playing with petulant children. You bore me and one way or another, as I head
into an event that should have had my name on the marquee…I will make sure
there is some good done by my hands!”
The crowd boos as “Fade to
Black” starts to play. Xander places the microphone
down on the apron and then slowly walks around the ring. He then starts to walk
up the rampway as we see some officials checking on
the match referee. They back up as Xander just sneers
at them and walks right past them. A few head to the
ring at this point as the camera cuts back to Quinne
who is now starting to stir.
Sharper: “Xander
Valentine challenging Alexis Quinne for a match in
two weeks.”
Knots: “I know what I’d do.
I’d run.”
Sharper: “I don’t know if Quinne can even comprehend that option.”
The crowd looks on as Xander continues to the back and we cut away.
We then see the Breakdown logo
come up on the screen as “Immortals” plays in the background. We then see a
shot of Kennedy Street holding up the World Championship at Taking Hold of the
Flame and Giovanni Aries standing in the ring after winning Taking Hold of the
Flame.
Sharper: “We don’t know if
Selena is going to be cashing in. But we do know, next, we expect to hear from
the SCW World Champion Kennedy Street and the Taking Hold of the Flame winner
Giovanni Aries. They’re on the collison course and
they’ll meet face to face, next!”
The scene starts to fade,
before we abruptly cut backstage.
Sharper: “Wait a minute! We
have something going on.”
We see Selena Frost backstage
with Dean Black. Selena looks at him. Dean Black has his phone in his hand.
Selena: “Look, I need you to
forward this. You’re the only one-“
Dean: “Selena. Stop. I get you
want to move forward, all to get at PPF. But you need to talk to who is on the
phone.”
Selena: “Is it the Board? They
going to be angry about what I did? Don’t pull Helms in the middle then!”
Selena grabs the phone and put
it to her ear.
Selena: “Hello?”
Selena pauses and stops.
Selena: “Look, you Regan…”
Selena pauses and nods.
Selena: “Kennedy does deserve
that. I…I get that. I get what you’re saying.”
Another pause as Selena nods.
Selena: “Okay…for you, given
this situation, I won’t play into it. I’ll hold off.”
Selena pauses again. She nods.
Selena: “I appreciate it.
Thanks…”
Selena brings the phone down
and hands it to Dean Black. Dean takes it and brings it to his ear.
Dean: “So all good?....No problem.”
Dean hangs up and turns to
Selena.
Selena: “I’m going to rethink
this.”
Selena looks at the Trios
contract that she has in her hand and turns and walks off.
Knots: “So it’s not
happening?”
Sharper: “Who called her?!”
The scene fades to black.
COMMERCIALS
We return to Breakdown as we
open up with a wide shot in the arena.
Sharper: “Welcome back to New
Orleans. It’s been a unique night with some interesting turn of events.”
Knots: “David Helms is gone.
He just left. Said he’s no longer commissioner!”
Sharper: “And that led to
Selena Frost aborting her plans. She received a phone call and she’s now had
second thoughts.”
Knots: “Maybe it’s to mess with
PPF?”
Sharper: “I don’t know, but
folks, we’re about to see what looks to be the main event of Rise to Greatness.
And Jessica Winters is in the middle of the ring to mediate this situation.
Jessica, take it away!”
We then cut to the middle of
the ring as Jessica steps forward.
Jessica: “Ladies and
gentlemen, after Taking Hold of the Flame, we have a good indication of what
the main event will be of the fifteenth edition of Rise to Greatness. So
please, allow me to introduce at this time, the SCW World Champion….the Sexy,
Flawless Diva….Kennedy Street!”
The crowd cheers as
“Criticize” by Adelita’s Way starts to play. The
cameras cut to the entrance way as we see Kennedy Street walk out from the
back, holding the SCW World Championship. Kennedy Street makes her way to the
ring.
Sharper: “Kennedy Street
walked away the World Champion, defeating her mentor Donovan Kayl. She now has the inside track to Rise to Greatness as
the defending World Champion.”
Knots: “She’s come a long way
from years ago. She’s someone I’m really proud of. But I will say this about
what awaits her in Giovanni Aries. He is scary good in that ring, and sometimes
just scary. He’s just different. And I look back to what he did against Ace
Marshall and I just hope he never finds a reason to bring that side against
Kennedy.”
Kennedy Street walks to the
ring and looks around at the crowd before walking over to the steel steps and
walking up them.
Sharper: “You wonder what
Kennedy is thinking. Been an interesting night for her.
Having to witness Amy Chastaine call
it a career, but then Trinity Street, her sister, arriving.”
Knots: “Yeah, I’ll be curious
to see what she heard from Trinity. We planned to go for a bite to eat with
Amy! I wonder if Trinity is joining us?”
Kennedy Street walks along the
apron and enters the ring. She then straightens the World Title on her shoulder
and walks over to Jessica Winters. The crowd cheers a bit as the music fades
out.
Jessica: “Kennedy,
congratulations on your win at Taking Hold of the Flame. You defeated someone
close to you in Donovan Kayl and barring something
unforeseen will be defending your World Championship at Rise to Greatness XV!”
The crowd cheers. Kennedy
nods.
Jessica: “This is a position
you were in three years ago and you hoped to do it again two years ago. But it
feels a bit different this time.”
Kennedy: “Because it is. I’m
not making people run a Flawless Gauntlet. I’m not looking to duck my
responsibilities as World Champion. I’m not looking to hold onto it by using
janitor’s closets…I’ve worked my ass for the last year and a half, trying to
show that I should be standing here. From the TV Title, to all of the
ridiculousness with Syren, Ravyn
and CHBK…to giving Bree something she deserved and looks like I should’ve hit harder.”
The crowd roars.
Kennedy: “To even proving to
my old mentor, by being able to take everything he could give and turning it
right back around to stand here going into Rise to Greatness.”
Jessica: “This brings me to
your opponent, the eccentric Giovanni Aries.”
The crowd cheers some more.
Kennedy smirks a bit. A “Lizard King” chant begins. Kennedy looks around.
Kennedy: “I think that says
plenty. This is a man who believes the Lizard King is out to get him. And trust
me, I’m all for someone who will use whatever motivation to kick Ace Marshall’s
ass. That was great.”
The crowd cheers as Kennedy
shrugs.
Kennedy: “But it’s someone who
I’ll be honest, I don’t know what to expect. But he went through thirty-nine
others to stand here and that may be all I need to know. Because that tells me
he’s at least lucky, he’s got to be damn good to outmove
Syren…which for the record, it
was great to watch HER land on her ass too!”
The crowd cheers.
Kennedy: “But I don’t know
what the hell a Lizard King is. Apparently, he represents the Wonderland and
maybe I can get behind that, but if he wants to take this title…I’m not giving
it up without a fight.”
Jessica: “Well, that certainly
is fair given how hard you have worked for it. At this time, I would like to
introduce the number one contender to the SCW World Championship, the winner of
the 2018 Taking Hold of the Flame, Giovanni Aries!”
The crowd cheers before “Mad
Hatter” by Melanie Martinez starts to play. A few moments pass before Giovanni Aries
saunters out from the back. He looks around as Sam walks out with him. He turns
as Sam produces a cigarette and a lighter before lighting it and handing it to
Giovanni. Giovanni takes a drag of it and looks down at the ring. The crowd
returns to chanting “Lizard King!” Giovanni then starts to walk down to the
ring, with Sam a few feet behind him.
Sharper: “Giovanni Aries has
had a 2018 to remember. May have ended 2017 losing the Adrenaline Championship,
but his feud with Ace Marshall showed that he could reach another level. A scary level where almost nothing could stop him.”
Knots: “And then went on in
Taking Hold of the Flame to prove it.”
Sharper: “He’s one match away
from becoming the World Champion.”
Giovanni Aries walks over to
the ring and hops onto the apron. He takes another drag before dropping it and
putting it out on the ring apron. He blows the smoke out before stepping into
the ring. Sam walks up the steel steps and enters into the ring. Giovanni Aries
walks forward, watching Kennedy, tilting his head as he scans her. He then
turns and glances behind her. Kennedy looks around and turns, wondering what
Giovanni is doing. Giovanni backs up as Jessica turns to him. The music fades
out.
Jessica: “Giovanni…what are
you doing?”
Giovanni slowly leans in.
Giovanni: “Checking for a
tail.”
The crowd roars. Kennedy rolls
her eyes a bit. Kennedy steps in.
Kennedy: “Trust me, honey.
There is no way this Sexy, Flawless body would ever
have a tail.”
Jessica moves the microphone
back to Giovanni.
Giovanni: “Not on visible to
the naked eye…but never fear, you do not have one.”
Giovanni pauses as he sniffs a
bit.
Giovanni: “But unfortunately,
you have been tainted by the Lizard King. His fingerprints are all over you. An
innocent…caught in the crossfire.”
Giovanni shakes his head.
Giovanni: “Beware Jules, he is
not going to be as forthright as I am. He will not hesitate to make you an
example.”
Kennedy: “What are you talking
about?”
Giovanni: “I’m sorry, Kennedy…I
can offer you the Wonderland, but Jules, I’ve talked to him….he’s
not going to care.”
Giovanni Aries then looks at
the World Championship.
Giovanni: “And I have already
taken hold of the flame, ready to use it to extinguish the Lizard King’s stranglehold
on all of this, but I need to do one more step. A step to draw him into the
open….and it is that.”
Giovanni points to the SCW
World Championship.
Giovanni: “It is the missing
piece…and Kennedy…I can’t let it slip through my fingers. You don’t deserve any
of what will come…but I can’t help it. I’m sorry. But I have to defend the
Wonderland!”
Giovanni Aries looks right at
Kennedy as Kennedy looks at Giovanni a bit stunned. Jessica looks at both as
the crowd cheers. Jessica then moves the microphone to Kennedy Street.
Kennedy: “Well Giovanni, I’m
not giving this title up and I’m not afraid of you or Jules. I plan to walk
into Rise to Greatness as World Champion and walk out as it too.”
The crowd cheers. Some boo.
Giovanni shakes his head. Jessica then turns the microphone to him.
Giovanni: “It will be biggest
mistake of your life.”
Giovanni looks right at her as
the crowd roars. A mixed reaction comes from the crowd again as Kennedy and
Giovanni Aries just keep watching one another.
Knots: “What does he mean?
Tainted by the Lizard King? Just because she had a
relationship with Ace years ago?”
Sharper: “I don’t know, but
those two are not breaking their staredown of one
another. Almost like both are waiting for the first move.”
Knots: “Kennedy isn’t going to
take a cheap shot…Giovanni….I don’t know?!”
Giovanni and Kennedy continue
to stare each other down as the crowd starts to cheer, some chanting for
Kennedy, while others chant “Lizard King.” The scene remains fixed on them for
a few moments longer before Breakdown fades to black…
