from the back. He looks around as he walks over to the podium. The crowd
cheers. Knots looks around.
Knots: “Welcome to Jonathan
Knots appreciation night!”
Knots extends his arms as the
crowd gives a mixed reaction. Bree Lancaster can be seen rolling her eyes as we
cut to show Kennedy Street yelling out in appreciate.
Knots: “Okay, okay, so it’s
not. But damn, they got the host right. So we’re off to a good start. Tonight! We’re
adding some names to the SCW Hall of Fame. And we’ve
got a lot of Hall of Famers kicking around. CHBK…good to know you’ve not turned
into dust.”
CHBK just smirks unimpressed.
Knots: “Although that was
Jason Zero’s deal. He’s not here…so Shilo…you don’t
need to worry!”
The crowd chuckles a bit as
Knots looks around.
Knots: “We tried to get the
Mercenaries here, but we didn’t have enough to pay them. But we’ve got Devon Kayl here….something he can hold
over his cousin, Donovan.”
Devon Kayl
pumps his fist as Donovan can be seen glaring at him behind him, leading to
some cheers from the crowd. We then hear a “SRO!” chant begin to break out.
Knots looks around. He smirks.
Knots: “Getting people in
trouble now. That’s as good a reason to final bring
out our first inductee. He is a former World Champion and he’s got his own rum…Let’s take a look!”
The SCW
Hall of Fame logo comes up on the screen.

Devils Club. We see a shot of El Lucho Venti unmasking as Lucas Knight is revealed before showing
him hitting CHBK with the UKOD and hitting several opponents, from Fred
Debonair, to Jake Starr, to Tommy Valentine with the Monarchy Rules. We then
cut to shots of Lucas Knight mounting Fred Debonair and hammering away on him with
repeated brass knuckled right hands. We then see a shot of Lucas Knight
celebrating with the SCW Underground Championship as Nathan Slade stands with
him.
Knots: “Yes! Lucas Knight has
done it! He’s righted the wrong of three months ago!
He’s now the Underground Champion!”
Dawson: “And Lucas Knight has
now finally amassed gold here tonight and he may have just also taken some of
his aggression out.”
Sharper: “Lucas Knight is king
of the Underground!”
We then see shots of Lucas
Knight standing with Ryan Watson and helping Syren
attack the Brotherhood before cutting to a shot of Lucas Knight hitting the
UKOD off the top rope on Tommy Valentine. We then see Lucas covering him before

SCW! Lucas Knight has done it!”

Helms sharing a shot in the middle of the ring as the scene slowly down. The
SCW Hall of Fame logo comes up on the screen.
Jonathan Knots stands at
podium.
Knots: “To induct Lucas Knight
into the SCW Hall of Fame, please welcome Hall of Famer and the number one
contender to the SCW World Championship, David Helms!”
“BANG”
The SCW remix of “All I Want” by A Day To Remember hits the speakers as David
Helms walks out onto the stage to a huge reaction from the crowd. He takes a
couple of steps from the curtain and looks around before throwing his hands up
above him in the Self High Five, which gets a ‘bang’ shout from the fans before
he continues walking to the podium.
“ALL I WANT IS A PLACE TO CALL MY OWN
TO MEND THE HEARTS OF EVERYONE WHO FEELS ALONE
WOAH; YOU KNOW TO KEEP YOUR HOPES UP HIGH
BUT YOU HEAD DOWN LOW!”
The intro gives way to the chorus and the lyrics of said chorus flash up on the
screen as Helms reaches the podium and looks around a little more before
reaching into his pocket to take out the notes for his speech. The music fades
out as he lays the notes down on the podium in front of him and waits for the
cheers to die down before beginning to speak.
Helms: “Well, I’m gonna be honest… if you’d come to
me in Twenty Ten and told me that in ten years time not only will you be a
member of the SCW Hall of Fame and have inductions for both Jake Starr and
another douchebag under your belt, but you’ll also be preparing a speech to induct
none other than Lucas Knight into the hall of fame too, I’d have been convinced
that you’d been smoking the kind of stuff that Giovanni Aries would no doubt be
interested in sampling…”
The camera cuts to show Gio, who simply glares back at the stage, before
cutting to show some of the fans laughing, and finally back to the stage to
show Helms smirking.
Helms: “I mean, there can’t be many people who have walked out onto a stage
like this in order to say nice things about a guy that once hit them in the
head with a cricket bat that he’d literally just set on fire moments earlier,
am I right? Well, apart from maybe Dillusion when he
inducted Rachel Foxx, but I don’t think there’s many things that Rachel hasn’t
hit someone with over the years anyway, so I still think it’s probably
something of an exclusive club…”
The screen behind Helms shows a still of Lucas hitting Helms in the head with
the aforementioned flaming cricket bat during their underground rules triple
threat match several years earlier, which draws more chuckles as Helms turns
around to look at it before theatrically wincing for the camera.
Helms: “Great times bro… happy memories…”
Helms sucks air in through his teeth and then clears his throat, which gets
another round of laughter from the fans. The camera cuts to show Regan who is
already rolling her eyes at her husband before cutting back to the stage.
Helms: “Yet while the Twenty Ten version of David Helms would have thought you
were high if you told him he’d be right here on this stage doing this… the past
is very much the past, and while Lucas Knight may be someone that I’ve called
‘asshole’ many, MANY times in the past. For the last year or two, I’ve also called him something else many times too. Friend.”
The camera cuts to a wide shot of the fans as they start to applaud. It then
cuts back to the stage to show Helms, who nods in appreciation before bringing
up a hand to settle things down.
Helms: “Lucas Knight is a guy that doesn’t really need much of an introduction
if I’m honest, I mean he’s done pretty much everything in this business and
let's be honest… who doesn’t know the name of Lucas Knight at this point? But
while I know I run the risk of making his unusually large head even bigger by
saying nice things about him, I feel it’s my duty to do so anyway after he got
down on his knees and begged me to do it…”
The fans laugh again as Helms grins for a moment before continuing to
speak.
Helms: “I’m joking of course; we all know Lucas isn’t the type of guy to beg…
he gave me money instead. Just hope the cheque doesn’t
bounce, but we’ll say no more about it. Because joking aside, while I’ve been in this business now for more than two decades, I
can say with my hand on heart that Lucas Knight is one of the toughest bastards
I have ever been in the ring with. And not just because of his choice in
weapons as we just saw, but his athleticism and his in ring
ability and his wrestling brain too. Lucas isn’t just a student of his
legendary father, he’s a student of the business, and over the years has done
more than enough to prove why he isn’t just going to go down as one of the best
to ever climb into a ring but why he deserves the legendary status he has and
why he deserves the honour of making it into this exclusive club!”
The fans begin to clap once again, and the camera cuts around the room to show
various shots of the fans as they applaud Helms’ statement. The camera then
cuts back to show Helms at the podium.
Helms: “He’s been my enemy. He’s been my friend. He’s been my rival AND my tag partner. He’s
stood with and against me in the ring, he’s stood at ringside and supported me.
He’s been Infamous. He’s been royalty. He’s been
Handsome and a Devil, and now… aside from possibly being drunk, given I already
had to take three different bottles of Infamously Dangerous from him at various
points throughout the night, there’s another thing to add to the list:
Infamous... British... Legendary... And now SCW Hall of Famer. Ladies and
gentlemen… LUCAS KNIGHT!”
There is a momentary pause
while all eyes focus onto the stage as David Helms steps to the side of the
entrance way now. Then the Big Screen lights up as the opening to Alpha King by
Rev Theory begins to play over the P.A System…
.INFAMOUS.
.BRITISH.
.LEGENDARY.
The curtains part way on the stage and out walks Lucas Knight dressed in a
tuxedo and a grin like a Cheshire cat. In his hand is what looks like a glass
of something as he walks over to David and the two shake hands and half hug
each other. Lucas says something to David who chuckles before he turns to the
crowd and there is a roar as he now stands there with both arms up basking in
the reaction from the fans in attendance and many of the roster watching.
He takes a sip from his glass and just soaks it all in for a moment, he even
goes far enough to wipe a tear form his eye. With the music dying out over the
P.A System, and the cheers following suit. Lucas stands at the podium with what
is obviously now his glass of Infamous Dangerous Spiced Rum. He looks around at
everyone in attendance and smiles, he looks back to the man who inducted him,
David Helms and nods and raises his glass to his
former enemy turned best mate and business partner before leaning into the
mic.
Lucas: “Wow…”
He takes another pause to survey the room as the fans in attendance cheer once
again, Lucas then sips from his glass and places it down on the podium before
reaching into his tuxedo pocket and removing a piece of paper which he unfolds,
he lets out a small cough to clear his throat and leans into the podium’s
microphone…
Lucas: “There are those of you that know me as a man of few words. So, in light
of that… Thanks.”
Lucas then raises his glass to the crowd and starts to walk off towards the
back, which gets a few laughs as David stops him and the two begin to talk
between each other. Lucas shrugs and nods before walking back to the podium
holding up his free and before leaning back into the mic on the podium once
more.
Lucas: “Apparently I’m being told my speech needs to be longer than a Blake
Mason relationship so here we go…”
The camera quickly cuts to Blake who shakes his head with a slight
chuckle, we then see a shot of Bree rolling her eyes. Lucas continues…
Lucas: “I want to start this off on the right footing before I go about
thanking everyone and reminiscing moments of the chaos
I’ve caused during my time in SCW. See while I look over at David there, while
I sat back stage waiting to come out here. Listening
to his words well they meant a lot. But when I first set foot into this company
back in two-thousand and ten, I knew one day I would get inducted into the Hall
of Fame. Didn’t think it would be ten bloody years later, but I guess I’ll get
what I can eh?”
Lucas chuckles but returns to a more focused look.
Lucas: “All joking aside, there was only ever one person I wanted to be stood
up here where David is and induct me into this Hall of Fame and that’s a friend
of mine who no longer is with us. The God of Pro Wrestling, no not Chad Evans… I’m talking about Pete Ebdon. My
brother from another mother as I like to say. He was a man who taught me a lot,
took me under his wing back when I first come to the United States. Standing
here without him here to share it with, well it’s
heart breaking… But I know he is watching tonight and that he is survived by
his daughters and by Christy over there who also was inducted tonight.”
The camera cuts to Infamous, although Christy Matthews is backstage. Syren rolls her eyes and gets up after saying something to
Alexander Crowe and begins to walk off somewhere. Lucas notices but pays no
mind to it…
Lucas: “Christy and I as you know came in as a package deal here, the Order of
Chaos Tag Team, but back then she and I were husband and wife and we all know
how that went… Despite never winning tag gold with her back then, I still to
this day say she and I were the BEST Tag team in this company who never held
the tag team championships, feats we’ve earned
elsewhere. Christy with Ravyn Taylor and myself with
my beautiful wife Trinity…”
Lucas looks out into the sea of people and notices Trinity and blows her a
kiss, the camera cuts to her and we see the ever so elegant Trinity Street blow
a kiss back to her husband.
Lucas: “I have taken a lot of granted during my time in SCW, I look around at
all of you and see people who have had a far more successful career than I have
during my spells here. I know I owe this company a lot, tried to give back
while under a mask and I thought that was going to be it for me. Sitting at
home, picking up a check from the business David and I own together, I thought
that was going to be it. But standing here talking to you all, thinking about
what I may have left in the tank, what I still have left to prove well it’s
making me feel like it’s two-thousand and ten all over again when I first
stepped through the doors into this company.”
There are a few cheers as Lucas nods, the fans are understanding what he might
be leading to…
Lucas: “I mean there are still two championships I have yet to earn right? This
shiny Gold ring on my finger though, it means a lot. Nothing better in this
business than being recognized and celebrated for all your accomplishments to
date. Moments where you have changed SCW for the better, and none did that more
I feel than Infamous… No not this current incarnation even if the members are
mostly similar. But the first one, when we run roughshod over this company, so
much so we earned stable of the year twice in a row and during that time,
forced this company to change the very format of the Trios Tournament. You’re
welcome.”
Lucas: “Winning that tournament twice was beautiful, my feud, my rivalry with
CHBK over there I think is only second to the shitstorm David and I put each
other through over the Underground Championships and even that United States
Title too. I’ve caused a lot of trouble over the years since I’ve been here,
and I have learned my lesson in more ways than one when kama
in a giant bastard found me and damn near broke my back and almost ending my
career.”
Lucas nods looking around before taking another sip form his glass.
Lucas: “That’s the joy of this business though, no matter your age you’re still
able to learn something new. I look at the younger talent who is part of this
company and much like my peers have said can’t help
but smile knowing it’s future is definitely in good hands. So
before I leave I can’t forget those I should probably thank for being here
tonight… So lemme begin with a thank you to Mr. D, the man of many faces you
always want to slap because god knows I’ve felt like
that over the years. But without him agreeing, I wouldn’t
be here. I want to thank the entire SCW Roster past, present and the future
because god knows there has been so many of you over the years and if I were to
thank the majority of you, we’d likely still be here when the Rise to Greatness
show starts tomorrow.”
There are more laughs as Lucas ruffles through his papers in his hand.
Lucas: “I want to thank Syren, Ravyn
for creating Infamous along with me, without that stage of my career I wouldn’t
be standing here now I imagine. We might have differing views on things these
days, but it doesn’t change what we achieved together
all the same. I want to thank my wife Trinity for not divorcing me when she
found out that I was El Lucho Grande the same time
you all did…”
David is seeing laughing on the stage while the camera catches Trinity laughing
as well as shaking her head before mouthing the words thank the cat, love.
Lucas: “I want to thank David again for not only a great speech but for being a
hell of a rival, a friend and as many say on the internet these days, Eskimo
brother. We’ve been through hell and back and I’m glad
to have met you and I’m especially glad to now call you friend. Just stay away
from my wife… I spoke of him earlier, but I want to thank the man who helped
mold me into the competitor I am today. I don’t think I would have gone through
that hell to win the Underground and SCW belts within that 8
month period but I owe it all to him, so thanks Pete… For everything
mate. And Lastly I want to thank all of you, the SCW
fans whether you’re here tonight in person or watching around the world. Thank
you for loving me, for hating me for showing me you give a
damn about what I did whether you liked or hated it. The fact is I fed
off that emotion and I hope soon we can share many more moments together in the
future. But like you, I will be a fan tomorrow night. I will sit somewhere and
watch my mate become the New World Champion… Hopefully.”
Lucas shrugs while looking over at Bree.
Lucas: “That is then however, because throughout my career I’ve been known as
many things. The Raw Deal, The Future and a lot of
other clichés when I didn’t know my ass from my elbow when it came to naming
stuff. I came to this company and become Infamous, British
and Legendary. But Now I proudly can say I can call myself Hall of Fame
inductee… This is a night I will never forget, so thank you everyone. From the
bottom of my heart. Enjoy the rest of the show and in a few weeks let’s see if
I can stir the hornets’ nest a little, eh?”
Lucas looks to the camera and winks before stepping away and waving to the
crowd as Rev Theory’s “Alpha King’ hits over the P.A System once again. Lucas
motions to David and the two hugs once more before Helms raises Lucas hand up
and the crowd and fans cheer for the most part with puts a smile on the Brits
face. The two men then turn and head backstage while discussing something
amongst themselves.

“Hall of Fame” plays as we
return to the SCW 2020 Hall of Fame presentation as Jonathan Knots stands at
the podium.
Knots: “While many of our
inductees tonight are still active in some way, also tonight, we are going to
be saying hello to someone we’ve not see for a while. Someone who has gone
away, done somethings, come back, and maybe has a new hairdo and you barely
recognize em. Well, we’re welcoming them back.”
The SCW Hall of Fame logo comes
up on the screen again.
“Instigator” by Kaci Brown plays
as we see shots of tanned legs walking down the rampway before we cut to see Lenne Perez standing between Calvan
Greene and Alex Desoubrais Jr. The crowd booing. We
then see Lenne shooing some fans around before
snapping at the camera. We then cut to see Lenne
Perez smacking Katie Steward before cutting to show her hitting the Acuveah on Sheryl Marie Grey, Katie Steward, and Robin
Brooks. This is followed by shots of Lenne Perez at
ringside, laughing before showing her entering the ring, clearly drawing
attention to her body as she does.
Dawson: “Definitely one to make
some noise.”
Sharper: “And take any and all
shortcuts!”
We cut to shots of Lenne hitting the Popstar knee drop on Katie Steward and
showing her celebrating with Calvan Greene. This is
followed by a shot of her nailing CHBK with a forearm shot and then cutting to
shots of her fighting Rachel Foxx, and hitting a
split-legged leg drop on Rachel Foxx. This is followed up by a shot of
Apocalypse 2008. Gigi then goes to jump up for the Nirvana, but Lenne lifts her and Gigi spins off of
Lenne and drops down to her knees. Gigi starts to get
up and Lenne staggers back to the ropes. She bounces
off them before jumping up and grabbing Gigi’s head and hitting the Acuveah yet again! The crowd cheers and Lenne
rolls Gigi over and hooks the leg, this time, in full view of the referee.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd cheers and Lenne rolls off of Gigi and
immediately brings her hands to her face.
Sharper: “Lenne
Perez is the new Women’s Champion! She’s finally the Women’s Champion!”
Johnson: “No! How? Oh God! It’s
out of the hands of the greatest wrestling dynasty!”
The referee walks over to the
corner and is handed the belt. He then turns and Lenne
starts to get up before the referee hands her the title. Lenne
then gets up and looks at the title for a moment before smiling. She then looks
around at the crowd before holding it up as a few tears come down her face.
Dawson: “A huge moment for her.
She’s finally won it!”
We cut to more shots of Lenne Perez hitting the Acuveah
on Elizabeth Fortune, Rachel Foxx, Katie Steward, and others, before cutting to
shots of her posing in the ring with the SCW Women’s Championship. We see her
pinning Taylor Summers before rolling off.
Sharper: “Lenne
Perez has reclaimed the Women’s Championship and is now a three
time Women’s Champion!”
Knots: “Stewards...eat your
hearts out. Lenne Perez is starting a dynasty of her
own!”
Lenne Perez posing with Model
Behaviour as they hold the SCW World Tag Team Championship before cutting to
show Lenne Perez laughing as she walks to the ring
and then dropping down on the apron and doing a splits
before entering the ring. She gets up before we cut to shots of her standing
tall in the ring, including one holding the SCW Women’s Championship as the
scene slowly starts to slow down. The SCW
Hall of Fame logo comes up on the screen.
Knots stands at the podium.
Knots: “Inducting Lenne Perez into the SCW Hall of Fame, please welcome Calvan Greene and Alex Desoubrais
Jr., Model Behaviour!”
“Semi Precious Weapons” by
Semi precious Weapons begin to play and the small crowd begins to cheer as Alex
Desoubrais Jr. and Calvan
Greene step out from behind the curtains. Alex is sporting a black shirt and
pants along with a shaved head, Calvan in a grey
suit. Calvan waves at people while holding some cards
in his other hand. The duo step up to the podium as
the song goes out mid riff. Calvan waves a
second longer as Alex focuses on the podium and takes a deep breath trying to
keep steady.
Alex: “Thank you everyone.
It’s a pleasure to be here and a great honor to be standing here before you now
to present this honor to a fantastic and worthy individual.”
Calvan smirks before leaning down to
add his bit.
Calvan: “I think what Alex is trying
to say is, this has been a long time coming. I always knew this day would come
where either Alex or myself, possibly both of us would be up here to induct
this amazing woman into the hall of fame. It just took this long to get us
together in between our other part time jobs.”
Alex: “There have been many
people that have come and gone but few ever really leave a lasting impression
quite like Lenne Perez. She wasn’t just a pioneer in women’s
wrestling, she was Women’s Wrestling.”
Calvan: “Again, what I think he’s
really trying to say is, some people are inducted because of their
accomplishments. Not because they’re actually well
liked or respected. Some people get acknowledged for their passion. I am here
to induct Lenne Perez into the hall of fame for doing
the splits and having that beautiful ass.”
He grins while looking down at
the cue cards in his hands. Alex rolls his eyes before peering back at him.
Alex: “Can you even read
those?”
Calvan: “I just scribbled pictures
if I am being perfectly honest.”
The crowd chuckles until he
shows one to the camera, showing a depiction of several stick figures standing
at a box. In the background Beethoven’s “Fifth Symphony” begins to play
as a video begins playing on the screen behind the duo showing Lenne Perez jumping up onto the apron and doing the splits.
Alex: “Lenne
helped shape an entire division and a generation to follow. She stands alone
not just in her ability but also what she contributed with her unique persona
and carefree attitude that likely continues to this day to still get under the
skins of her detractors.”
Calvan: “I could probably comment on
the fact she’s cheated on me like seven times and I had to go to therapy twice
but that would be petty. She was known for her flings and I am now in a happy
place with the proper medication. Lenne Perez
believed in giving back to the people. Namely behind my back in the private
comfort of hotel rooms I paid for, our kitchen table, the sofa, my car, my-“
Alex: “Seriously?”
Calvan looks to Alex and sighs
miserably as the video displaying Lenne constantly
doing the countless split maneuvers she did over the years continued playing.
The video had yet to reset.
Alex: “She helped bring
wrestling to where it is today, not just with her innovative style, larger than
life personality, she pushed the limits of the time having top tier feuds with
some of the greatest superstars in the history of the sport.”
Calvan: “Including that man’s dad.”
Calvan points at Alex cheerfully,
who ignores him.
Alex: “Everyone here tonight,
everyone watching at home, please welcome without further ado, give a round of
applause and your full attention to The Paparazzi Princess, Lenne
Perez!”
“Starstruck” by Lady Gaga
begins to play as the crowd stands and begins cheering to an almost deafening
pitch.
Calvan: “Miss Bitch! Alex, you
forgot to call her a bitch!”
“I’m So Starstruck,”
“Starstruck, baby could you
blow my heart up.”
“Starstruck,” continues to
play throughout the arena as Lenne walks out from the
back with an iPad in hand. She’s wearing a short black
dress and her hair done up in an elegant looking ponytail and a headband
keeping her bangs in place. She waves and smiles at the surprisingly cheering
crowd. As she approaches the podium she stops, places a kiss on both the
cheek of Calvan Greene and another on Alex Desoubrais Jr’s. She smiles at them both and leans in and
whispers something to them, laughs in response to Calvan
and both head over to the side of the stage as she places her iPad on the
podium and takes her place behind it.
Lenne: “Wow…so that’s what it’s
like to have you guys cheer for me for a change, huh? This was such a shock to
hear from Sasha and Mr. D that they wanted to induct little old me into the
Hall of Fame. I’m still not really sure it’s real if
I’m being totally honest. So where to begin, I’ve been to plenty of these
things but I never thought I’d be on the other side of this, so you guys will have
to forgive me if I’ve suddenly forgotten how to act up here.”
She gives the crowd a second
to calm down again and she takes a deep breath.
Lenne: “Well first I’d like to
thank the boys for making me almost ruin my mascara backstage. Thank you both
for your wonderful words, and Calvan, I’m glad to hear that I helped you finally seek therapy.
Congrats to your mental health.”
Calvan gives a thumbs up from the
side.
Lenne: “Alex, thank you for
boosting my ego, somehow you always found a way to give me a bigger head than I
could myself. Truly talented. So
when I got the call telling me I could pick someone to induct me, it was a no
brainer. Though considering everything Calvan just
told you, I’m surprised they said yes. But that’s about another hundred stories for another time. As
for tonight, I guess I should give everyone a little bit of a history lesson on
Lenne Perez.”
She pauses.
“I started in SCW in 2006 when
I was at the ripe age of about 22. The company had existed for about three
years at that point, so I was here back when SCW was just a group of us kids
trying our best to be something in the world of sports entertainment. It was
funny to me, when I was a little girl, I had always dreamed of having my name
up in bright lights. The marquee reading “LENNE PEREZ,” but if you had told me
that it would be because of professional wrestling, I would’ve laughed.”
She looks down, smiling a bit.
Lenne: “So, to explain how I ended
up in this business, we have to go back about almost 15 years ago now. I had
gone to a casting call in Los Angeles, didn’t get it, but on the way out my
agent had mentioned that there had been this up and coming company that was
dying to get more women involved. So I said,
‘alright,’ what’s the company’s name then? My agent calmly smiled and said,
‘Supreme Championship Wrestling,’ now me being me, I thought she was kidding. So when she didn’t laugh with me, I knew she was being serious.
I mean, I had grown up watching some of the greats with my Papi,
but I never actually considered stepping foot into the ring myself. To me, all of the guys on TV were these larger than life personas,
these supermen.”
“But what I began to consider
was, well what about the women? Where were they on the product? In the early to
mid-2000’s there had been a problem with Women’s Wrestling being taken not
serious enough, we had been the bathroom breaks, the matches where they only
thought women were just eye candy. My goal was to be part of the change for
women in Sports Entertainment. I wanted to be a part of something that would
eventually open doors to other women. So I started
training in late 2005 in Los Angeles with some stints in Baja California as
well, just over the border in Mexico. Five months later, I had sent in a demo
reel to SCW, and within two weeks I got a call back from Mr. D himself asking
me to come to Breakdown the following week.”
The crowd applauds. Lenne looks around and smiles.
Lenne: “Now I thought maybe I’d
work a couple of dark matches and just see how the crowd would react to me and
see how I was in the ring. Well, I was seriously wrong. Instead, I got to the
arena and was given a full schedule of appearances and just like that, I was
going on the road with SCW.”
The crowd starts to cheer for Lenne as she smiles in response, taking in the awe of the
crowd.
Lenne: “So here I am, a kid still,
with maybe four or five months of in ring training under my belt and I’m told
that I’ll be debuting on Breakdown against Clamydia
and the following weekend I’d have my first opportunity at the SCW Women’s
Championship at Redemption. My opponent that weekend? Then SCW Women’s
Champion, Katie Steward.”
The crowd pops at mention of
the Goddess of Desire, Lenne just nods and smiles
back, waiting for the pop to die down.
Lenne: “I’m not going to say it was
my best performance, but I’d like to pretend that I knew what I was doing.
Katie wiped the floor with me, but then I also had to remember, I had only been
wrestling for such a short time but I was already
earning this huge opportunity. While all of this was going on, I managed to make
some friends fast backstage in the form of these two fine
gentleman out here tonight, Calvan Greene and
Alex Desoubrais Jr. Together, we made up Model
Behavior.”
Lenne looks over to the side of the
stage where Alex and Calvan are standing and blows a
kiss to them.
Lenne: “These two helped put me on
the fast track to honing my craft. I started coming to arenas earlier and
earlier to get into the ring with them, to learn as much as I could. I knew I
had been the least experience in our division at the time, so I wanted to catch
up. I had told myself, that my goal was to hold the SCW Women’s Championship by
the end of that year. Well, that goal was a little more than far off, but I
still busted my butt every chance I got.”
The crowd murmurs with laughs here
and there.
Lenne: “So with Calvan
and Alex at my side, we instead started to take aim at the Tag Team Division.
Those were honestly some of the best nights of my life working with these two.
That drive lead us to Taking Hold of the Flame in 2006
where the boys captured the SCW Tag Team Championships. I was so proud of them
that night, even though I didn’t get my way in winning the Women’s Title that
night, my boys had made me proud, so all else was forgotten.”
“There is one thing the
business taught me. That is to keep your head up, and
push on. It was what kept driving me as I continued to learn and get better in
the ring. In my first year here I got to work with some of the greatest people
this company has ever had, I got to participate in two Taking Hold of the Flame
Battle Royals, managed to eliminate God Himself from the latter of the two. I
got to face CHBK in a Hardcore Rules match at Under Attack 2006, to which I’m finally coming around to forgiving Mr. D for putting me
in. I even made it to the Final Round of the Trios Tournament in my rookie year
here. While my dreams of being a champion may not have been realized that year,
I at least got to make amazing memories in place of that dream. I wouldn’t
change it for the world.”
“Within a couple years time, I
had realized all of these experiences had given me a really good in ring
acumen. I had learned so much from so many different people that I wanted to
share this wealth of knowledge with other people. In 2008, that call was
answered when one Holly Adams entered my life.”
The crowd starts to boo and the camera goes to Holly in the crowd who is pageant
waving back to them.
Lenne: “Oh guys stop, she sucks,
but she’s not that bad all of the time. I have to give
her credit for helping me realize how far I had come in this journey of being
an SCW Superstar. She reminded me of the hard work I had been putting in and
the desire I had to achieve my dreams. Holly and I had met by chance, so when
she expressed to me that she wanted to wrestle, I thought “why the hell not.”
We started to train together and she made her debut
for Oblivion Pro Wrestling that year, and after its closure, she ended up
joining me in SCW in May. So with Holly helping me
relight that fire under me, I had set my eyes back on my original goal here in
SCW, the Women’s Championship.”
“I had started a campaign to
get myself back into contention for the title, as fast as possible. As luck would
have it, Katie Steward decided to host the “Goddess Gauntlet,” at Rise to
Greatness 2008. Now in that match, any woman could participate
and Katie didn’t realize how many people she had rubbed the wrong way. I think
overall there was maybe 12 of us vying for her title at the same time? I just remember she was not pleased.”
“Katie had entered first and
had eliminated easily four or five women. Then, I came out, dropped her with my
Facebuster and knocked her out of her own match. I
had guaranteed there would be a new Women’s Champion that night. I knocked
Katie straight out of the gauntlet, and made it
through most of our Women’s Division at the time before Katie’s protege, Gigi
was announced as the final entrant. Unfortunately for me, my dream was to be
delayed yet again, but only after Katie had assisted Gigi by doing some extra
damage earlier in the match after she had been eliminated.”
The crowd begins to boo again.
Lenne: “Now guys, stop that. I
understand how Katie was feeling, I would’ve felt the
same way too if one of my biggest rivals had taken my title away from me too. So I don’t say I blame her. But I digress. That night was
Gigi’s night. I can admit that, she won the title fair and square. I had gone
through about seven or eight matches while she was fresh. I was an easy target
for her that night. But after that night, I fought even harder to earn myself a
First Contenders match to challenge Gigi at Apocalypse that year and after two
long, grueling years of trying, I finally went the distance and defied the odds
and became the SCW Women’s Champion for the first time.”
The crowd starts to cheer and clap for Lenne, the
camera pans throughout the audience, as well as through the groups of
superstars on the floor before focusing back in on Lenne.
“My first reign wouldn’t last
that long, but I found a natural successor in Rachel Foxx who took the title
and hung onto it for a couple of months while I had to take some time off for
some personal issues. I wish I could describe the feeling to you, how amazing
it felt to finally have reached my end goal. I had achieved my dream here in
SCW. Having my hand raised in the middle of the ring and being handed the title
belt was just breath taking. It’s been 12 years and I
still can’t properly describe it. I think it was Jonathan Knots who said,
‘Stewards step aside, Lenne is building a dynasty of
her own here tonight.’”
The crowd some.
Lenne: “After a brief hiatus, I
returned in early 2009 and returned at Body, Heart and Soul, by accompanying
Alex to ringside for his match that night. It was shortly after that that I was
quickly thrust back into the Women’s Title picture and within a month I
recaptured the gold at Highway to Hell. I held the title for a few months
before some girl who died and then by the sheer force of pettiness, was
resurrected within a week cheated to win the title from me.”
At the hinting of Ashley Cherry the crowd starts to boo loudly.
Lenne: “Okay, that one I’m not
going to stop you from booing. But she ended up getting fired while holding the
title and then showed up in Majestic where she lost it almost immediately. So I guess that’s just karma. But I immediately recaptured
the title in a tournament for the then vacant SCW Women’s Championship, and
ironically enough, on my third anniversary with SCW.”
“Everything had come full
circle for me at that point and I just knew, maybe it was time for me to me to
retire. They always say to go out while you’re on top
and while you’re at the top of your game. That’s what
I decided to do. I knew I had done all I wanted to do here in SCW and I’m so proud of what I was able to do while I was here. I
knew after that third title win, maybe it was time to hang up my furry boots
and use the small fortune I amassed here to follow my dream of traveling the
world.”
“I had thanked Mr. D for
everything he had done for me here in SCW. He gave me my big break and let me
give everyone a show. I was a competitor for three years, I got to do backstage
interviewing for a little while while I was out on
injury, I got to be at ringside for my boys every night. I wouldn’t trade those
memories for the world.”
“I also was the innovator of
one of the best entrances in the game, doing the splits into the ring and being
accompanied to the ring by massive crowds of paparazzi. The red carpet would be
rolled out every single time and I had a smile on my face every single time.
Sometimes I thought it was a wee bit ridiculous coming to the ring like that,
but then again, it was just who I was. Larger than life.”
The crowd applauds again.
“Thinking back on my career,
all of my highlights, my achievements, I finally understood why they wanted to
induct me into the Hall of Fame. At first, I had to ask myself “why?,” when
there had been so many more deserving people who haven’t had this chance yet,
but it was revisiting all of these moments in my head that made me realize that
even though my contributions to title history isn’t the biggest, my impact on the
company as a whole is what lead to this evening. I was the SCW Women’s
Division.”
More applause comes from the
crowd.
“Over my three years here in
SCW, the only permanent fixtures were myself and Katie Steward. It was the two
of us and a revolving door of women who would stay for brief stints and then
would disappear into anonymity after their short time here. Katie and I were
the Women’s Division in the mid-to-late 2000’s. That’s
why I deserve to be here, why I deserve to call myself an SCW Hall of Famer. I
spent the first two years of my career building a legacy worth remembering and
spent the last year of it solidifying it.
“Back in 2006, there wasn’t a
lot of opportunity for women outside of our division. By the time I had left,
Katie had been going after the US Title, Sarah Punche
had been Adrenaline Champion, but it’s so wonderful to come back and see the
expanded role the women have taken here in SCW. We had our division, and that
was our “girls club,” but I’m so happy to see that we
have expanded beyond that and into the World Title scene. I’m so proud of all
of you for taking that opportunity and running with it.”
“My original goal, as I said,
was to help change the perception of women in this industry. I actively
competed with the men, went toe to toe with some of the best this company has
ever seen, and I’m so happy to see that someone picked up the ball Katie and I
had left behind and ran with it.”
Lenne takes a deep breath and moves
some hair out of her face as the crowd starts to applaud.
Lenne: “Whew, you guys, I’m sorry
I’ve been running my mouth so much. But for those of you who followed my
career, you knew what you were getting into. But in conclusion, there are a lot
of people who have touched on my career, and helped me get to where I am, and
for those of you who don’t get a personal thank you this evening, know you’re
in my heart.”
“First, I’d like to thank Calvan Greene.”
Calvan stands and bows to the
cheering crowd.
Lenne: “Calvan,
you were my first love, second only to wrestling. You made wrestling so much
fun. Your style had reminded me so much of the luchadors
I had learned from in Mexico. There was never a time where I was unhappy when
we were together. Some of my most favorite matches are the ones where we got
the opportunity to be a team. Thank you so much for everything you’ve ever done
for me, I love you….and sorry for all those times I cheated on you, for what
it’s worth, I still went home to you at the end of the day, didn’t I?”
Lenne smiles at Calvan
again and the two share a long pause, just looking at each other. Lenne finally turns back to the crowd after about a minute.
Lenne: “Next, I’d like to also
thank Alex Desoubrais Jr.”
The crowd cheers and he waves to the crowd, still looking rather drawn back.
Lenne: “Alex, I have no idea how
you put up with us in those first few months. Calvan
and I were literally the worst people to be around and be with. We were
disgusting in our puppy love, and even worse in our antics in the ring
together.”
The camera pans over and Alex
shrugs in response.
Lenne: “You also hold a special
place in my heart as you helped me train harder than I ever had before. You
were the inspiration for me to keep learning. When I had come back from my time
off and returned to SCW in 2009, you were right by my side helping me train
again, working off the ring rust. I am so grateful to everything you have done,
in and out of the ring.”
The crowd cheers for Lenne again as she walks over and hugs both Alex and and Calvan, pulling them in close
and whispering something into their ears. As she backs away, she smiles at them
both before walking back over to the podium.
Lenne: “I promised myself I wasn’t
going to cry, but I’m already breaking that promise. I just love them both so
much, but the show must go on. I have to next thank my fellow Hall of Famer,
The Goddess of Desire, Katie Steward,”
Lenne pauses as the crowd breaks
out into cheers.
Lenne: “She was the first to break
our mold in the Women’s Division. In a way, I feel like she left the division
to me once she started going after “the Men’s,” titles back in the day. She
always pushed me to be the best I could be, and every time I had to face her,
it was like I had the night off. That isn’t meant to
sound shady, I just knew that if I was scheduled to wrestle Katie, it was going
to be a fun time. So Katie, after 14 years, I can
finally say, thank you. For everything you did for me, whether you knew it or
not.”
The crowd cheers. Katie
Steward looks on and gets up and starts to bow.
Lenne: “Next, I want to thank Holly
Adams.”
The camera goes to Holly in
the audience, she looks to be a bit teary eyed as she mouths, “I love you,” to Lenne.
Lenne: “Holly reignited my passion
for this business, she got me back into the ring and gave me that desire to
fight my way to the top in 2008. She continues to inspire me every single day
with her drive and her passion. I’m also happy to see
that she has stepped back into the ring, and I wish her luck tomorrow night as
she’s competing at her first Rise to Greatness since 2011. So
Holly, good luck and thank you so much for everything you’ve done.”
The camera shows a now crying
Holly, she rips the tissue out of the hands of the person sitting next to her
and blots her eyes with it and then blows her nose. She then puts it back into
the person’s hand and goes back to looking at Lenne.
Lenne: “Next, I’d like to
thank….and please don’t yell at me guys….Matt Hodges.”
Again the crowd boos loudly in
response, and Lenne just laughs.
Lenne: “Guys, you need to stop
booing everyone! They’re not always the worst people!”
There’s a brief pause.
Lenne: “So a little backstory on
this one. It was in early 2009, and I was still in my second reign as Women’s
Champion. Matt and I had begun to fool around, Calvan
you were missing from SCW at the time, and we realized how much we just clicked
together. Yeah he terrorizes people for fun now, but
back then it was the both of us doing it. While we were brief in our time
together, I cherished those days as it was a totally different version of me
that I got to experience. Matt brought out the vicious streak in me that I
thought had been left behind in 2006. Unfortunately, life got in the way and
Matt departed SCW for some personal time and left me to fend for myself. At one
point, I even hosted a viking funeral for our
relationship and Ace Marshall put fireworks on the boat. Really fun time that
was watching fireworks explode about ten feet from me.”
Lenne deadpans the last sentence
and the camera goes to Ace in the crowd making an “oops,” face to the camera.
Lenne: “I think what drew Matt and
I together was our desire to succeed by any means necessary. Hell, he helped me
retain my title on one or two occasions and then spun me around like a princess
in the middle of the ring afterwards. So how could I not be grateful to him? Matt,
in all seriousness, I love you. Thank you so much for everything you did, and
good luck in your match this weekend. You know I’m forever rooting for you.”
The crowd boos again and Lenne rolls her eyes, but remains
smiling.
Lenne: “But most importantly, I
just want to thank every single person who touched my career, whether for
better or worse. I’m so happy to back here in front of the SCW Universe, and knowing that my impact was felt in this
company. Over the course of my three years, I had so many matches with so many
people and I learned something from every single one of them. I can’t express
how humbled this experience has made me, and once again, thank you everyone so
much.”
Lenne walks out from behind the
podium with her iPad in hand and does a bowing motion to the crowd. As she
stands back up fully she stops, and wags a finger,
walking back over to the microphone.
Lenne: “Oh wait, I almost forgot.
One last thing before I go. Mr. D, this one is for you.”
Lenne points up with her index
finger as the opening chords of “Instigator,” by Kaci Brown start to play over
the PA system.
Lenne: “Thank you guys, have a
great rest of the night and good luck to everyone at Rise to Greatness this
weekend!”
As “Instigator,” gets into
full swing, Lenne walks over to Alex and Calvan and embraces them once again. She turns away from
them waving to the crowd and wiping a tear or two away from her face as she
walks to the back with her boys, one last time.
COMMERCIALS
“Hall of Fame” plays as the
camera sweeps down. Jonathan Knots walks back over to the podium. The crowd
applauds as Knots starts to speak.
Knots: “Welcome back to the
SCW Hall of-“
Just then, we hear one of the
doors to the auditorium violently open and we then see former SCW star David Grenier step in. The crowd roars as Grenier
looks around.
Grenier: “Did I miss her?! Did I-“
Knots: “Who?”
Grenier: “Lenne!”
Knots: “Yeah, just went up.”
Grenier stops and turns around.
Grenier: “Damn it!”
Grenier turns and storms out of the
auditorium. The crowd roars as security then comes over and grabs him and
starts to pull out of the auditorium. The camera cuts back to Knots.
Knots: “Huh…going to welcome
back…or not in this case, another star from the past. David Grenier
everyone!”
The crowd cheers a bit.
Knots: “But we are here to
celebrate some who have been around for a while and some like our next inductee
have done quite a bit. From a former World Champion, just most recently winning
the Tag Team Championship, to a multiple time Adrenaline Champion.”
The SCW Hall of Fame logo
comes up on the screen.
The opening bars of “King of the
World” by Porcelain and the Tramps play. We see with each bar, a shot of
Christy Matthews, one holding the SCW World Championship, another standing with
Lucas Knight as part of the Order of Chaos, before cutting to shots of her
standing with Infamous, and another holding the SCW Adrenaline Championship.
The chorus then begins before we cut to shots of Christy Matthews hitting the
Little Red Press on Alexis Quinne, followed by the
Far, Far Away on CHBK, Jake Starr, David Helms and
others.
Sharper: “Happily (N)ever After!
Just spiked him!”
This is followed by shots of
Christy Matthews hitting the Happily Never After on Shawn Winters, Jake Starr,
Selena Frost, and others. We cut to shots of Christy Matthews doing her
crucifix pose in the crowd, and in the ring. This is followed by shots of
Christy Matthews holding up the SCW Adrenaline Championship, pinning Selena
Frost after a double stop to the back.
Phillips: “Here is your winner
and NEW SCW Adrenaline Champion, Christy Matthews!”
Shots of Christy’s other
victories, including her first title win are shown, before cutting to showing
her hitting Casey Holliday with the Happily Never After before covering her. We
cut to shots of her then holding the SCW World Tag Team Championship with Ravyn Taylor as she looks around and Ravyn
points to her. We follow up with shots of her winning at the Trios Tournament
2012 and then cutting to a shot of her standing across the ring from Katie
Steward at Retribution 2012, as the SCW World Championship is shown. But this
then cuts to a shot of Christy Matthews jumping off the top rope with a double
stomp onto Kate Steward.
Sharper: “End of the Yellow
Brick Road…that’s what she calls it. Is it the end of Katie’s reign?!”
Christy turns back and rolls
over and hooks the leg.
1!
2!
3!
Kayl: “History made again!”
We then see shots of Christy
Matthews holding the SCW World Championship, before coming to the ring at Rise
to Greatness 2012 in the main event and then cutting to shots of Christy
Matthews standing with Infamous as the scene slows down. The SCW
Hall of Fame logo comes up on the screen.
Jonathan Knots stands at the
podium.
Knots: “To induct Christy
Matthews, please welcome Nicholas Jaxx!”
The opening of the main theme
to Superman by John Williams begins to play. After the iconic intro the music switches to “Sinner” by Drowning Pool. With
that, Nicholas Jaxx walks out onto the stage wearing a full suit with the top
button of his shirt undone and his tie loose around his neck. He looks out over
the crowd with a smirk on his face before he begins to walk to the
podium.
Jaxx: “Well, this is bigger than I thought it’d be.”
He looks out at the crowd, the smirk on his face growing to an outright smile.
Jaxx: “For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Nicholas Jaxx. I’m ‘The Sinner’, the ‘New King of Hardcore’, the ‘King of
Sin’, and a bunch more nicknames that I had over the years. I’m
a multi-time former World Champion, and I had a hell of a career… but my
proudest accomplishment in this business wasn’t even in the ring. The thing that
I’m proudest of in this business was fourteen years ago when I met a young
woman who responded to an advert I placed…”
He smiles again and pauses. On the large screens we see an image of a younger
Nicholas Jaxx and what seems to be a teenage Christy Matthews.
Jaxx: “Yeah, I’ve known her a long, long time. She
came to me looking to escape her past, and since I was all about having a good
time and having fun, I was more than happy to welcome her to both my attempt at
training a rookie - following in the footsteps of the great Travis ‘The Titan’
Windsor who trained me - and also the fun and madness that was the cast of
colourful characters who made up Nicholas Jaxx TV. And for the longest time we
had a great time. At least, I like to think we did…”
He smirks again before looking toward the back.
Jaxx: “In fact, before I came out here I was talking
with another inductee into tonight’s Hall of Fame, Lucas Knight. My old tag
team partner. One of my best friends in the world. The man who I travelled more
roads with than anyone else. Well, *almost* anyone else. See, in the old days
it was Lucas, Ebby and me. We were the three musketeers of the independent
scene. We travelled the world. We fought everywhere we could. We were all about
having a good time and conquering whatever was in front of us. And, I don’t
know about Lucas but I never really thought we needed
anyone else until Christy came along.”
He looks to the back for a moment before turning back to the crowd.
Jaxx: “I can stand here right now however and tell you that we were wrong. The
Order of Chaos was missing something, and we found it with Christy. She became
the heart and soul of our collective, the tie that bound all of us together
even closer, and I’ll forever love her for it. And
yeah, I’ve accomplished a lot in my career, but my
proudest moment right now is standing here doing this.”
He stops for a moment. He looks genuinely happy, almost like he might break his
otherwise relaxed facade and break out with actual emotion. However, he stops
himself and smiles one last time.
Jaxx: “So, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen
of SCW, let me introduce her to you now. Let me introduce the heart of the
Order of Chaos. The woman who’s fought more demons in
her time than most of us have ever had to contend with. The woman who’s experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of
lows, sometimes within days of each other. A woman who helped change
professional wrestling forever by ushering in a new era proving that female
competitors were just as tough as men, and I don’t just mean on the independent
scene where that’s been happening for years, but I mean in the biggest company
on the planet. She’s a woman who’s headlined the biggest shows, who’s
accomplished so much more than you ever expected from her, a former Trios
Tournament winner, a former Challenge Series winner, a former Adrenaline
Champion, a former Women’s Champion, a former World Tag Team Champion, a former
World Champion… goddamn, when you lay it all out like that it’s even more
impressive.”
He stops and laughs.
Jaxx: “Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honour to welcome to the stage my friend,
and your 2020 Hall of Fame inductee… CHRISTY MATTHEWS!”
Jaxx looks proudly to the back as we hear the sound of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s
inaugural address hit the PA system.
“So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to
fear is--”
There’s a record scratch before a deep voice fills the arena.
“INFAMOUS”
The opening of “King of the World” by Porcelain and the Tramps hits the PA
system as we see Christy Matthews walk out on stage. She’s
wearing an elegant red dress which has been customised to have a red hood which
she’s pulled up over her head, very reminiscent of her ring entrance attire and
the literary character which inspired it. She stands there for a moment looking
out over the crowd before turning to Jaxx and hugging him. He steps back,
welcoming her to the podium and she hesitates for a moment before walking up.
The music begins to fade out as she stands there for a long moment in silence.
Christy: “They told me this day would never come…”
She begins to smile.
Christy: “When I started out in this business, I didn’t intend to end up here.
In fact, the truth is that when I started out in this business all I was looking
for was an escape. Nick is right when he says I went to him looking to escape
my past. That was actually all I intended to do when I
went to him. I’m not even sure I wanted to get in the ring, I just wanted to
learn to fight…”
She turns to him. He smiles and begins to walk off and she grabs hold of his
jacket to stop him and turns him back around. He looks confused and she shakes
her head at him.
Christy: “Oh no, you’re not leaving. You’re staying
right here, because while this whole induction is undoubtedly about honouring
me, it’s also about *you*. I wouldn’t be here without
you. I wouldn’t be here without everything you’ve helped me with over the
years, and I would have given up a thousand times on this path even *after* I
joined SCW if not for you.”
She turns back to the crowd and looks down at the podium where a small golden
ring sits. She slowly picks the ring up, looking at it before laughing.
Christy: “Ok, so let me tell you guys a story. When I started out in this
business, I never thought I’d end up in SCW. That wasn’t my intention. I didn’t start
wrestling thinking that if I tried hard enough I could “live the dream” like a
lot of you. I wrestled for small companies who’d take
us on. Do you remember that, Nick? You and Lucas fighting for places like F1X?
They drew a few thousand people to a small building
and they considered it their Super Bowl. Looking back, it was actually pretty funny, but at the time it felt huge. I
remember standing in the back with Lucas and Nick and them both telling me that
I didn’t have anything to worry about…”
She shakes her head and smiles again.
Christy: “It seems like another lifetime now. Wrestling in front of a few
hundred people, sometimes for just a few bucks. Travelling to the same building
over and over to record weekly television shows. Looking at ‘top 100’ lists and
not seeing a single person you’d wrestled, let alone
your own name, on those lists. It was a different world, but it was where we
came from, and it was what molded us. It was what made us who we are today. And
it was what made moments like this extra special, because it helped us
appreciate them all the more.”
She looks at the ring again and then turns to Jaxx and smiles.
Christy: “I remember sitting in the crowd when you were inducted into the F1X
Hall of Fame. There was what, like fifty people there?”
Jaxx snickers.
Jaxx: “Something like that, yeah.”
Christy: “But it wasn’t about the people who attended, it was about being
honoured by the company that you’d busted your ass for. The company who you
literally *broke your neck* for. And you know what? I’d
love to think that the same is true of this ring. I’d
love to think that this was about ten years of hard work, ten years of
dedication to the company, ten years of busting my ass to prove myself over and
over again. Because that’s what I’ve *HAD* to do.
Nothing has ever come easy for me. Nothing has ever been handed to me. I didn’t get handed a shot at the World title just for showing
up. I didn’t have D or Sasha walk out to the ring and go
‘oh gee, you’re so great, you can be number one contender’. I *EARNED* my
chances.”
She laughs and looks around the front of the crowd at the SCW employees sitting
there.
Christy: “How many of you just shifted in your seats? How many of you just
thought ‘yeah, I did too’ without remembering how easy you’ve
had it? How many of you are thinking right this moment that after you beat that
person tomorrow night at Rise to Greatness your next goal is the World title?
Most of you? *All* of you? Hell, how many of you sitting out there think the
company has held you back just because you’ve shown up
to work six weeks in a row and not been handed everything? Where’s Chris
Cannon? Is he out there, because that’s how he thinks…”
She laughs and rolls her eyes.
Christy: “I’ve *earned* my spot. I won tournaments and Challenge Series to get
my opportunities. And yet in ten years that I’ve been here I’ve somehow ended
up on this stage, in front of all of you, and I’m supposed to blush and say how
I’m not worthy and how I owe everything to all of you or to this company, but
the truth is that worked my ass off to get here. Instead of giving me
opportunities, all this company did was tease me only to take them away. I
still remember my first Rise to Greatness ten years ago, and instead of getting
a match on the show, I got told that I wasn’t
required. My opponent didn’t want to work, so I had to
sit on my hands and do nothing. I was surplus to requirements. That gave me the
clearest vision I’ve ever had of SCW…”
She laughs and rolls her eyes.
Christy: “And let’s not even talk about Gang Rulz,
shall we? I got shunted from the main event to the opening of the show, not
because of anything *I* did, but because of ‘other circumstances’.
And I could blame Lucas for that, but I don’t. It wasn’t his fault. It wasn’t his
fault that a year after headlining Rise to Greatness I was reduced to some
mixed tag team crap. It’s not his fault that this year I’m competing as one of
over a dozen others, when I should be standing here right now as the United
States Champion…”
She pauses again and looks at the ring once more. Her eyes focus on it and she
just takes a few deep breaths before looking up again.
A smile slowly spreads across her face. The crowd boos.
Christy: “This company has benefited financially from my hardships, and yet
ignored genuine tragedies. If I ever *did* imagine standing here, it wasn’t with Nick by my side. I love you, Nicky, but it
wasn’t you I wanted to induct me, but the man I did want standing
there died, and SCW management kept booking me on shows like nothing happened.
They didn’t care about me. They didn’t
care what I was going through. They don’t care that I
have a little girl at home right now who doesn’t have a father because of it.
They don’t care. *You* don’t
care. And yet I can see you all right now, rolling your eyes, acting like I
should be toeing the company line and praising everyone I’ve been in the ring
with…”
She pauses again and just laughs.
Christy: “You want me to be more like all of you? You want me to be ‘good’? So
many of you have acted like I’m the worst person in the world for thinking the
way I think, for being willing to do the things that I’m willing to do, but if
I don’t look after myself, who does? If *I* don’t make
opportunities happen for myself, who does? Because smiling and saying all the
right things doesn’t work. Being the good little
corporate puppet doesn’t work. Fighting the fights
that SCW management tells you to doesn’t work. That’s the reality of being part of SCW. And to get here, to
stand on this stage and be ‘acknowledged’ by a group of people who want to see
me fail at every turn… well, that’s not something I’m
going to gush over. It’s something I’m going to laugh about.”
She twirls the ring in her fingers a little more before finally slipping it
onto her finger. She then holds up her hand to the camera, showing off the ring
and then smirking once more. The crowd boos some.
Christy: “This ring isn’t about being honoured by SCW. This ring is about
triumph *in spite* of the system. I stand here today as someone who you wanted
to see fail, someone you thought would just go away if she was ignored, and yet
someone who shattered glass ceilings, someone who made her doubters bleed, or
walked away as the last one standing. I wear this red hood because this is how
you all see me, as a little lost girl in the woods who’s going to be tricked
and killed by the Big Bad Wolf, only the wolf has come for me many times and
I’m still here.”
She reaches back and pulls the hood back up over her head.
Christy: “So, thank you. Thank you to those who doubted me. Thank you to those
who continue to doubt me even today. And I know that I wasn’t
your first choice to stand up here today, in spite of everything I’ve done. It
was Katie Steward and Christy Matthews who ushered in a new era of SCW, who
proved that women could main event the biggest shows -- I headlined Retribution
two years in a row back when most companies were still booking Bra and Panties
matches -- and yet you drove Katie away, and you’ve tried so hard to do the
same to me. *We* were the ones who broke the mold. *We* are the ones who
deserve your respect, without whom none of you women in this crowd would have
the opportunities you have today, and without whom Amy Chastaine
wouldn’t even be inducted tonight.”
She laughs again.
Christy: “But that’s not what you want me to say, is it? And that’s
fine. This Hall of Fame ring isn’t about *you*. This
is for the little girl who wanted so desperately to be anywhere but Overland
Park. This is for the young woman who tried to run, only to find new monsters
everywhere she turned. This is for the girl in the red hood who had no Woodsman
to save her, and had to learn to save herself. And
now, she’s triumphed over more Big Bad Wolves than
most ever will. And she’ll continue to do so. I’ll continue to fight, even when you want to see me fall.
Not for the fans. Not for glory of Supreme Championship Wrestling. But for my
daughter, and for me.”
She looks down at the ring on her finger again and then back up at the crowd, a
smile slowly spreading across her face.
Christy: “Welcome to my world…”
She adjusts the hood again and then extends her arms out in the mock crucifix
pose as a poignant tribute to where she came from.
Christy: “You want to see me fail, but this ring means my legacy will live on,
which means for everyone who doubted me, it’s simply Happily NEVER After.”
She smiles one last time, looking at the ring on her finger as “King of the
World” by Porcelain and the Tramps hits the PA system once more. With that, she
walks off with her former mentor leaving the stage empty. The crowd boos as we
abruptly cut away.
COMMERCIALS
“Hall of Fame” is heard as the
camera sweeps back down to the stage as we see Jonathan Knots at the podium.
Knots: “Well wasn’t that
wonderful. While we all miss Pete, and it was tragic…I can’t
speak on SCW’s reaction then, but I can speak to what we just heard and I guess
once miserable, always miserable, huh. Thanks for being grateful.”
The crowd cheers. Knots
shrugs. We then see Syren turning and Crowe getting
up as Syren gets up as does Ravyn
Taylor. We see CHBK then getting up. The crowd starts to boo. Rey Anillo ironically
is not sitting with them, nor shows up on camera.
Knots: “Oh…did I hurt Infamous’s precious feelings? Maybe take it up with
Christy. She threw you guys under the bus too! I remember! Syren
getting the title shot because you all framed Kennedy! So you didn’t EARN those
record-setting title reigns!”
Knots smirks as he looks
around. Regan Street can be seen standing up and cheering. Asher Hayes is shown
smirking as Syren, Ravyn,
Crowe and CHBK leave the auditorium as the crowd now starts to chant “Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na
Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye!” At this point, we see someone coming out on
stage. Knots waves him off.
Knots: “Idiot producer wants
me to be nice.”
The chanting continues until
Infamous disappears. The crowd cheers.
Knots: “Let’s
get back to why we’re here. To celebrate the achievements of people who have
earned it and whether we like it or not, Christy did earn being here, even if
she’s going to be bitter about having to earn it, just like everyone else
that’s been on this stage. They earned it too!”
The crowd cheers as we hear
applause from the crowd. We see shots of Kelcey
Wallace, Jay Gold and Tommy Valentine all applauding.
Knots: “And next, we have
someone who earned it all including becoming the fastest Supreme Champion in
SCW history!”
The SCW Hall of Fame logo
comes up on the screen.
“Relentless” by New Year’s Day starts to play as we see a
shot of Amy Chastaine heading out from the back and
posing on the stage. We then see shots of Amy Chastaine
locking in the Torniquet on repeated opponents. We
cut to see Amy Chastaine cradling Regan Street into a
pin.

The bell sounds as Regan rolls her shoulder up. We then
see Amy Chastaine holding up the SCW World
Championship.
Sharper: “We have a new World
Champion!”
Knots: “Oh my God!”
We cut shots of Amy Chastaine
hitting the Blackout one some opponents, including facing Syren,
Regan Street, Christy Matthews, Shilo Valiant and
Alexis Quinne. We see Shilo
Valiant running forward and goes to run up for the E-Factor, but Chastaine hooks his leg and rolls back with a school boy.

Phillips: “Here is your winner and NEW SCW Television
Champion, Amy Chastaine!”
A shot of Amy Chastaine proudly
holding the Television Championship follows before we cut to see Amy Chataine jumping off the top orpe
and hitting the Blackout on Finnegan Piper before holding the SCW United States
Championship. We then see shots of her fighting with Vixen Cain, William Hush
and Andrew Raynes. This is followed by a shot of Christy Matthews tapping out
to the Torniquet as Amy Chastaine
holds the SCW Adrenaline Championship over her head after.
Sharper: “She holds her four different championship in
SCW since the start of last year! World, TV, US and now Adrenaline! Another
great victory!”
We then see Kennedy Street and Amy Chastaine
in the ring before cutting to see Kennedy Street hit Tommy Valentine with the
Apple of my Eye before he walks into Amy Chastaine
hitting the Blackout. We cut to see Amy Chastaine
covering Tommy.

We see the crowd cheering as Kennedy Street and Amy Chastaine celebrate with the World Tag Team Championship!
Sharper: “History made, and we have new World Tag Team
Champions and another Supreme Champion to add to the list!”
We cut to shots of Amy Chastaine
holding SCW titles and standing in the ring victorious before cutting to a
slowed down shot of her celebrating in the ring. The SCW Hall of
Fame logo comes up on the screen.
We return to the podium and
Jonathan Knots.
Knots: “Now to induct Amy Chastaine into the Hall of Fame, please welcome long time rival William Hush!”
“Knights of Cydonia” by Muse
plays as the crowd applauds. A few moments pass before William Hush walks out on stage, in a
traditional black tuxedo, complete with bowtie. He gives a wave to the crowd as
he walks up to the podium.
Hush: “Wow. Thank you for that warm reception.”
Hush seems legitimately humbled by the applause he receives from the crowd. He
misses this.
Hush: “I’ll tell you something I still miss a crowd reaction. Someone once said
that you’re no longer relevant when the crowd are
silent. It’s better to be booed than silenced, pardon
the pun.”
Hush grins at his own joke, clearly having a whale of a time.
Hush: “But you’re not here for me, of course. I’m out
here for someone else. Someone who is, or at least was, one of the most
reliable, hard-working, dedicated athletes ever to grace this squared circle.
She must have been good, she beat me often enough! I’m
here to induct Amy Chastaine to the SCW Hall of
Fame!”
The crowd applauds as Hush smiles, looking out at everyone. The noise
dies down, and Hush nods before beginning again.
Hush: “Amy started her career fifteen years ago in a long since dead company
called WOF. After it died, she signed to one of the companies which rose up
from it’s ashes, High Voltage Wrestling, where we met
for the first time. We have literally never been on the same page. We have
faced each other no less than eight times in a variety of different matches. We’ve fought in singles matches, tag matches, battle royales, Hell in a Cell, a VWA speciality called The
Seventh Circle of Hell and also in War Games. We had one of the longest
lasting, most personal feuds spanning three companies and around eleven years
which all culminated here, one on one, in SCW. When I heard she was being
inducted, I had to be the one to do it and I couldn’t
say “YES!” quickly enough when asked. I admit I thought I was done with wrestling,
after my brief stint in SCW. In my not-so-better days, the atrocities I comiited in VWA at the behest of Jude Lawson I am sure
blacklist me from any Hall of Fame of my own, but that's okay, because I am
thrilled to be able to be part of that moment for someone else, someone I
respect.
Outside of our personal battles, Amy's won World Championships, Tag
Championships, Hardcore style championships, Secondary titles, collecting them
like Pokémon cards. I’ve lost count of exactly how
many times her name is listed next to a Title somewhere, but she’s earned and
defended every single one. But for all of her biggest in-ring rivals, she’s
also battled personal demons, some of which in a very public spotlight showing
that while she can get knocked down, her resolve to carry on and not let it
beat her shows just how focused and brilliant she is not just as a sports
personality, or as a wrestler, but as a human being as well. Honestly, love her
or hate her, Amy is a role model to us all. She’s not perfect and has her
demons, but she’s always tried her best to conquer them just as Craven’s 80
year old grandmother could defeat “Hell Raiser” in HVW – and if you don’t get
that reference it’s fine, Amy certainly does.
The camera pans the crowd of stars and shows confused faces, but a few fans in
the background can be seen laughing.
Hush: “As you all know, Amy’s career and mine has been intertwined since the
beginning. We were hell bent on fighting forever. Whenever one of us showed up
in a new company, the other would inevitably follow and we’d
be at it again. I’ve hated people in my time and
wished them ill but with Amy, even when the blood boiled the hottest and the
hatred flowed as its most furious, it was always different. We fought because
deep down, we’re far too much alike. We’re both stubborn, we’re both hot headed, we’re both
devoted to the wrestling business and, unfortunately, retired from it through
injury. We’re both passionate and loving, caring and
hateful. We can wrestle technical masterclasses and bludgeon foes with baseball
bats. We both quite like Shinedown. We both have weird doppelgangers in the
entertainment business, and we both put each other on this pedestal that no-one
else could reach. I had to beat her. She had to beat me. We never once worked
on the same team. Eleven years in the wrestling industry and we never had a tag
team match together of any kind. We were each other’s final boss every single
time and it’s just proof of Amy’s character, her will, her resolve and her
principles that she can find space in her heart to forgive when 98% of the
planet would throw me against the wall and walk away. It wasn’t
through softness or weakness or being soppy or naive, it was from seeing a
character change before her eyes into someone worth a little bit of time.
Without Amy Chastaine there would never, and I mean
this, never have been a William Hush. Without you I would have been nothing. You’ve always been the one I set my standards to. You were
always the one I looked up to, even if my vision was tinted red. It took me
eleven years to finally take you down one on one with no bells or whistles and,
honestly, in hindsight, I’m glad that match ended my career because there is
nobody who I would have rather had that final match against.
Hush has a tear in his eye. His in-ring career is done. Amy’s in-ring career is
done. They both know it and this serves as the final goodbye and the moment
cannot be understated how powerful it is for both of them.
Hush: “But for everything you’ve done, and for everything you’ve given to this
business. The blood, the sweat, the tears. The intrusive microscope into your
personal life when you were at your lowest. The people you’ve
loved and lost. The people you’ve hated and banished along the way, there is
one man who without a shadow of a doubt would have walked on water to be here
tonight, and that man’s name is Heath Lancaster.”
The camera cuts to the crowd again, and we see Amy's family with somber smiles;
her husband Wyatt Lancaster, kids Jaina and Loki, an
older lady that can be assumed is her mother, and behind them, Bree Lancaster.
Hush: “I reserved a seat down there, that one empty seat in the front row, for
Heath. I know it’s only a gesture, but I want you to
imagine him sitting there, smiling at you, raising a fist in joy and crying at
how far you’ve come. There is not measuring implement big enough to show how
proud he would have been of you and while that is only an empty chair, I wanted
to save it for him. I couldn’t let him not be here for this.”
We see the crowd again, and the empty seat in question, next to Wyatt. We then
cut to Bree Lancaster as she wipes a tear from her cheek.
Hush: “I’m about to run over my time, so I’ll quickly wrap up. Amy, you are one
of the best things to happen to wrestling. Your versatility, your ability, your
determination was unlike the will of anyone I ever encountered. There is
nothing greater I can achieve in any form of wrestling than inducting a living
legend into a Hall of Fame, so I’m making this my final ever appearance of any
kind in wrestling programming, but for you, your legacy is eternal. So, ladies
and gentlemen in the live audience and to the huge number of people watching at
home, it gives me intense pleasure to complete this induction by introducing
the latest Supreme Championship Wrestling Hall of Famer, Amy Chastaine!”
Amy walks out from the back, her face already full emotion. She's
in a black form-fitting dress, V-neck that's lightly sequined around the
neckline and straps. Hush reaches a hand out to shake
hers. Amy shakes her head, then motions for a hug. Hush obliges, to massive
applause. We see a shot of Amy's family again, then a panning shot of the whole
crowd. Back to the stage, and Hush and Amy break their hug. She then shakes his
hand, and they both laugh. He gestures grandly at the podium, and gives a
little bow to her, then to the crowd, before walking to the back. Amy takes her
place at the podium
Amy: “I thought I was going to end this in tears, not start off this way.”
Amy laughs a little, as she dabs at her eyes with a tissue.
Amy: “But that's just like William, knowing exactly what to say to get to me. I
didn't need a crystal ball to know that he wouldn't
let me down here tonight. Thank you, William, for your kind words.”
“To sort of pick up where he left off, I simply cannot start any kind of
acceptance speech or list of thank yous without first
thanking the man who that empty seat down there is for, Heath Lancaster.
William Hush may believe he wouldn't be a name in
wrestling without me, but there is no question that I would not be standing
here tonight if not for Heath. The Lancaster family were always like family to me, since high school. Wyatt and I were in the same grade,
Heath older, and Bree came along when me and the guys were teenagers. It was
the guys who helped me get away from my abusive ex-husband. And Heath who first
suggested that I train to wrestle, at his school in New York. I went... he
trained me... and here we are. I won't say that I wish
Heath was here tonight, because I KNOW that he's watching. I hope I've made him
proud.”
We cut to the crowd and see Wyatt smiling, then to Bree, who wipes another tear
away.
Amy: “Most of my career was spent in other companies before I cam to SCW. I
know that a lot of the fans here and watching at home followed me from place to
place, but this is an SCW distinction, so I won't dwell too much on the other
companies... the two William named, WOF and HVW, and also FTWO and VWA. Those
places got me ready to come here, prepared me for the high level of competition
I would face. And I wouldn't have done so well or gone
so far in SCW if I hadn't put in the time in those places. So to them, the
owners, bookers, and every other wrestler on those rosters I worked with and
ever fought, thank you.”
“As for my debut here in SCW...”
Amy takes a pause and a deep breath here. It seems she is debating her next
words carefully.
Amy: “I have two men to thank for that. First, Blake Mason. He made a phone
call that got myself and the person I came in with a foot in the door as far as
getting looked at for a potential contract. Blake and I have gone several
rounds since then, but today I call him a friend. Thank you, Blake.”
“The other man.... is Andrew Raynes.”
The crowd boos.
Amy: “Despite the way things
ended between he and I, including last year's Rise to Greatness and what turned
out to be my last match, I wouldn't be a part of SCW if he hadn't suggested we
do so. I doubt he's listening to this, but I am going to say thank you Andrew,
anyway.”
Applause. The crowd is shown and there are a lot of surprised faces. We see
Bree Lancaster with a grin.
Amy: “I've made great friends here. Regan Street, a woman who started as a
rival, turned to mutual respect, and then friendship. Selena Frost, one of the
biggest advocates and examples of “be brave” there is. Kennedy Street, who
became one of my best friends very quickly. By the way, go see her movie, it's
phenomenal.”
Amy grins. We see Kennedy in the crowd, she says “thanks honey” and smiles.
Amy: “Simon Lyman, one of the few people I know personally who understands the
struggle of alcoholism and has been a great help to me not only in that, but in
now being a trainer at the BlackOut Academy. Kelsai Adamson-Mason. It's been an honor and a privilege to
get to know her and mentor her, even more so now that she knows just how
special to me she really is, as the biological
daughter of my childhood best friend. And then there's
the one that as you all know is a little bit more than a friend... Jason Helms.
He's pretty good in the encouragement department too,
but I promised him I wouldn't ruin his reputation so that's all I have to say
there.”
Laughter from the crowd. We see Jason and he laughs, then blows a kiss
comically.
Amy: “I also have to give a special thank you to Mr. D. Not just for hiring myself
and Andrew without any kind of tryout... but for the numerous chances he gave
me, despite some of my not-so-proud moments. There was a match in VWA where
I... should not have gone to the ring. Mr. D of course heard about this, and
offered help, time off, all kinds of things. I didn't
have the chance to accept because shortly after that was my accidental
overdose. Mr. D was one of the first to call and check in. Offered all the time
off I needed, and help again. I admit I should have
taken it then, but some time after I wasn't given a
choice. The board, including Mr. D, pretty much forced me into rehab. I didn't think I needed it and let me tell you, I was PISSED.
But.... they were all right. And that week or so I spent there I give a lot of
credit to for my continuing recovery. I'm not perfect,
I have slipped a time or three since... but what I learned there helps me get
back to where I need to be. So for all of that,
Mr. D... you have my gratitude.”
Amy places a hand over her heart. She then dabs at her face again with the
tissue.
Amy: “If I've forgotten anyone, please forgive me, I'm kinda
winging this thing here... but I can't forget to mention the fans. Just like
anyone else I have my followers and my detractors. I've
often heard at meet and greets, in emails and letters, how I've inspired people
in some way or another. To follow their dream, escape a bad situation, face
their own addiction problems. And while that does fill my heart with pride to
hear it, I want you all to know that you all have inspired ME, as well.
Either to not let you down, or to prove you wrong. ALL of you over the
years have pushed me into being the best I could be. So
I thank all of you, as well.”
This gets a large round of applause. The camera pans the crowd and most people
are on their feet. We cut back to Amy and she's once
again wiping her face.
Amy: “And finally, I have the biggest love and thanks for my family. Those who
have been there for me through everything, encouraging me when I felt like I couldn't go any further, either in wrestling or just life.
Giving love, and tough love when needed. And I know I'm
stubborn, tough love was needed a lot. My mom Liz, my kids Jaina
and Loki, Bree... yes, you too. And of
course my husband Wyatt. You've always been my sturdiest rock, I love
you.”
More applause as we cut to Wyatt in the crowd. He simply smiles up at his wife.
Amy: “I know a lot of people who get these things tell a dozen stories, but I
am going to leave you with just one. I've never told
this one publicly before, and I hope it's something everyone can relate to.
Three years ago, right before Rise to Greatness, where I would defend the
Adrenaline Championship against William Hush... was the last time I was
completely drunk. I have had drinks here and there, had a buzz once about a
year ago, but I'm talking about the kind of drunk where you can barely stand,
your words don't come out right, and you have a massive headache the next day.
That... was three years ago, a few days before Rise to Greatness. Now I won't get into what sent me that deep into a bottle of
amaretto, because that isn't important to the story. What's
important... is what Wyatt told me that night when he was talking me down and
trying to get the bottle out of my hand. I don't remember a whole lot of
specifics, but I remember being adamant that life was too much, that I couldn't
let go of everything that made me feel like a shitty parent, wrestler,
person... all of it. It was too much to handle and I needed the drink to deal
with it. He told me I AM strong enough. All I had to do was decide to let it
go. Addiction itself isn't a choice, it's a real
medical condition, but it IS a choice to recognize that and decide to work to
make it better. You all know what I did... I let it go. Literally, I remember
dropping the bottle, splashing the rest of the liquor all over the carpet. It
was right there that I decided that I was NEVER going to let myself get that fu-.. uh, messed up again. I owed it to my family to do
better. It was hard, and terrifying, but that's also where “be brave” was born.”
The crowd applauds.
Amy: “I don't tell you this story to sort of brag about facing demons and all
of that, I'm telling you the story because I want all of you to know that no
matter how tough you think things are, how down you feel, how dark it might
seem.... you ARE brave enough to pull yourself out of it, and you CAN make the
decision to do so. I know it's hard. I've lived it. But I also know how so amazingly good it feels to finally come out of the other side, look
back and say... I did that. I BEAT that. I didn't let it beat me.
“And that's what I want for all of you. That's how you
can honor my career, my legacy, show your respect to me... by respecting
yourselves enough to just be brave.”
“I love all of you. Thank you so much.”
Amy backs away from the podium, the tissue at her eyes, as the crowd erupts
into thunderous applause. We see the crowd and not one person is sitting. We
see quick shots of Wyatt, Jason, Kennedy, Kelsai, and
then Bree. We cut back to the stage and Amy is smiling at the reaction, almost
embarrassed that all this fuss is for her. She waves at everyone with both
hands in the air before turning and walking back to the stage as “Hall of Fame”
plays and Lucas Knight and Lenne Perez walk out from
the back and stand with Amy Chastaine. Christy
Matthews, notably, is not with them. Confetti goes off as the camera pans back,
showing the crowd cheering for the Class of 2020 as the scene fades to black…
