“Supreme Championship
Wrestling...”
A shot of Kelcey
Wallace nailing Bree Lancaster with the Perfect Ending, followed by a shot of
Steve Griffin hitting the Decimator off the top rope on CHBK at the first Rise
to Greatness, before turning a shot of Jake Starr pumping up the crowd on his
way to the ring, before turning into a shot of Ravyn
Taylor sitting in the corner, waiting for the start of a match. We then see a
shot of Katie Steward holding the Women’s Championship before cutting to a shot
of Selena Frost hitting Vixen Cain with the Defying Gravity at Supreme
Saturday: Just Desserts.
“The leading force in sports and
entertainment today....”
MAIN SHOW:
The scene opens
up with a shot of the outside of the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis,
Minnesota. The camera pans across the outside shot before cutting inside where
we see fans starting to file to their seats, but also the massive set, along
with the wrestling ring, and fans around the stadium. Several are cheering. We
then hear the voice of Jessica Winters.
Winters: “Welcome to the site
of Rise to Greatness XVII! We are here live and are under an hour away from the
biggest wrestling event of the year!”
The cameras continue to pan
the stadium before we cut to show Jessica Winters with Simon Lyman and Hiro
Tanaka in one of the luxury boxes.
Winters: “We are here inside
the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Rise to Greatness coming up. I’m Jessica Winters here with two former World Tag Team
Champions, Simon Lyman and Hiro Tanaka. Gentlemen.”
Lyman: “Pleasure and honour.”
Tanaka: “Same.”
Winters: “Some great matchups
tonight. We have plenty to talk about. What are you thinking is going to be
stand out?”
Lyman: “World title
notwithstanding, I’m looking forward to the World Tag Team Championship. A
title Donovan Kayl and I have held, have a great
respect for. And two great teams going at it. It’s
become personal though. But at the same time, you just don’t make it that with
Regan Street.”
Winters: “Hiro?”
Tanaka: “I’m looking forward
to see what Alistaire Allocco can do with Matt
Hodges. Allocco and I have gotten to know each other. I respect him. He’s had a rough patch, but Hodges, a former World Champion,
but also someone who has openly fought dishonourably. I look forward to Alistaire teaching him a lesson.”
Jessica: “Two of the match that we will see tonight. But on top of it all, we
have the World Title. That’s to come. But one match,
exceptionally personal. Jordan Majors faces Sienna Swann in what can only be
described as a grudge match.”
The Rise to Greatness logo
comes up on the screen.
We cut
to see Sienna Swann getting up off of Jake Starr at
Cold Blooded 2020.
Phillips: “Here is your winner,
via pinfall, Sienna Swann!”
Jordan Majors comes to the ring
and pulls herself up to the apron and then into the ring. She then steps into
the ring and walks over to Sienna as Sienna steps up. She continues to watch
Jordan before Jordan grabs her arm and raises it. The crowd boos.
Knots: “That tells you that!
Friendship is thicker than blood!”
Sienna smiles as she then holds
her other arm up. We then cut to shots of Jordan
Majors invited into Sienna Swann’s locker room, when
Jake Starr is forced to head to the ring alone. This is followed by a shot of
Jake Starr upset, before cutting to a shot of Jordan Majors helping Bree
Lancaster in the Thunderdome at Retribution before seeing Sienna Swann talking
angrily to Sasha. We cut back to Cold Blooded. Xiomara applauds from ringside
as Jordan keeps her arm up. The boos continue before Jordan suddenly jumps up
and drives Sienna down to the mat with the Cash Out. The crowd erupts in cheers
as Xiomara’s glee turns to shock. Jordan gets up and turns to Sienna, flipping
her off, yelling at her.
Jordan: “F[mute] you, you
manipulative bitch!”
The crowd continues to cheer as
Jordan turns to Xiomara and rolls to the floor. Starr, who is recovering, looks
up, smiling as Jordan heads to the back.
Sharper: “Jordan Majors just
planted Sienna Swann!”
The
music changes as we see Jordan Majors in the ring.
Jordan:
“For months,
I’ve been forced to choose between friends, family, people I love, people I
lean on for support…and to the point that I’ve had to find people I can count
on in this moment and well, after the last couple of weeks, the phony
apologies, the threats of firing, the needing to tip-toe, all while trying to
give my brother what he wanted…a team with his sister while also trying to
navigate my way in SCW…I knew one thing…Sienna Swann is a manipulative bitch!”
The roar
of the crowd is heard.
Jordan: “I now know what my
purpose is, what my focus is, and it’s going to be causing you to crash and
burn and bring your manipulations to an end. You thought you failed at
Retribution…I plan to make that only your second biggest failure in SCW this year,
because when I push you off the pedestal you put yourself on…then I know
exactly who the hell I am and that Jordan F’n
Majors!”
Jordan brings the microphone
down as “Nightmare” by Halsey starts to play. The crowd cheers as Jordan looks
around.
Sharper: “Sounds like she’s
going to war against Sienna!”
We then
see shots of Sienna Swann getting increasingly enraged, yelling at Sasha, at
Jessica Winters, and even Chris Cannon trying to calm her down. We cut to a
shot of her trying to break into the luxury box of Blake Mason before getting
pulled away by security.
“Taking
Hold of the Flame 2020”
We cut
to see Jordan Majors entering the ring at number two.
Sharper: “Jordan Majors is out
second. Has a target on her back with the Beauty Factory.”
We then cut to see multiple
shots of Jordan Majors in the ring, fighting to stay in and attacking other
entrants before Sienna Swann enters and we see her go right for Jordan Majors,
attacking her with repeated knee strikes.
Sharper: “Sienna Swann in! The IronAngel is going right for Jordan Majors!”
We then cut to later in the
match where Jordan Majors takes Sienna down with a Lou Thesz
Press followed by some right hands. We then cut to see the two attacking each
other.
Knots: “Finding another wind to
battle with Swann. But Swann is winning!”
Sharper: “The Ironangel fresher, but Majors showing she’s an Ironwoman
herself!”
We then
cut again to a later point where Majors pulls up Chris Cannon. She starts to
lift him up. She tries to eliminate him, but Cannon elbows out of it. Jordan
turns around and Sienna suddenly drills her with the Kiss of an Angel. Majors
stumbles back and into the ropes. Sienna then runs over and clotheslines her
over. The crowd boos loudly as Majors lands on the outside, eliminated.
Sharper:
“Damn! From number one…”
Sienna:
“I’m the only Ironwoman around here, bitch.”
Knots:
“Jesus!”
Sharper:
“Swann eliminating Majors. The Kiss of an Angel. And Majors couldn’t do
anything to stop it!”
“The War
We Made” by Red starts to play as we cut to see shots of Josh Hudson and Blake
Mason talking to Jordan Majors as we then see a shot of Jordan Majors getting
knocked off a stage as Sienna pushes an official into her. Majors hits the
ground and rolls over and looks up as Sienna smirks.
You're a voice when the light is gone
Never know who's side it's on
Think you're gonna see someone
But you are the only one
Am I alone? Am I alright?
Am I insane? Am I alive?
What does it take to stop waging war with
We then
see Josh Hudson and Jordan Majors talking backstage.
Jordan:
“Josh…”
Josh:
“We should chat now. You heard Sienna.”
Jordan:
“And I made it clear. This is my fight.”
Josh:
“Except she’s making it my fight. You want Blake and I to focus on each other.
Then we step up here.”
Jordan:
“She’s doing what she always does. Creates a group of people who see her for
who she is and tries to turn things into a war, so she can bring in her
enablers. She wants it not one on one so she can divide and conquer, but
straight up, she knows she’s slipping. And straight
up, she knows there’s as good of a chance as any I end Rise to Greatness with
her out looking up at the lights!”
We see a
shot of Jordan Majors running down to help Jason Helms as he winces in pain.
All I thought I wanted
All I thought I needed?
Waking up from myself
To a life outside this hell
No more lies, no more pain
You can't fight the war we made
The war we made
Sienna goes for a hard right,
but Jordan blocks it and kicks her in turns and rolls her into the ring. Jordan
slides in after and Sienna starts to get up. Jordan gets up and forearms her in
the jaw and then again before backing up. She goes for the Kiss of an Angel.
Majors sidesteps. Sienna stops and turns and Majors
jumps up for the Cash-Out. Sienna pushes her away. Sienna then runs at Majors
and Majors ducks as Sienna goes up and over the top rope to the floor. Majors
then backs up, demanding her to come in. Diaz slides in and runs over to Majors
and clubs her in the back and then again. She then grabs Majors and pulls up
her as Sienna slides in. Majors however jumps up and hits the Cash-Out on Diaz.
Diaz rolls over as the crowd roars.
Am I alone? Am I alright?
Am I insane? Am I alive?
What does it take to stop waging war with?
Am I alone? Am I alright?
Am I insane? Am I alive?
What does it take to?
What does it take to?
We then see a shot of Sienna
Swann hitting the Kiss of an Angel on Jordan Majors again at Taking Hold of the
Flame from multiple angles and seeing her dump her over the top rope before we
cut to see a shot of her trying to hit it on Jordan Majors during the six
person tag match on the July 15 edition of Breakdown. Majors blocks it and
forearms her. We then cut to later in the match where she hits the Cash Out on
Jordan.
Sharper:
“Cash Out on Sienna! She hit the Cash Out on Sienna Swann!”
We see shots of the Cash Out
from multiple angles too.
Waking up from myself
To a life outside this hell
No more lies, no more pain
You can't fight the war we made
The war we made
The war we made
The war we made
The war we made
As the
song continues, we see shots of Sienna Swann and Jordan Majors fighting.
Sienna: “You can try and copy me
all you want. I hear people talking about you being the next best thing. People
talked about me replacing Kelcey. I never replaced
someone who was always second to me…the issue for you…you’re
not even ranked. You’re on this Cinderella run and it
all comes to an end. Not just your time at the top…oh no…your career. And all
of this is from one moment…that moment where you turned your back on me, on
Bree, on Jaina…and for what? You get the crowd to
cheer you?! You don’t have to have more awkward family
dinners with your brother. NONE of that matters Jordan when you’re
never going to experience either again after this Sunday. Jake likes winners.
It’s why he tags along with David…when will he turn on him…and as for the rush
of the crowd….[bleep] them.”
Jordan: “Come on Sienna…you’re
so sure of it all. And I mean you blame SCW and Sasha for all
of your failings. Why not hurt her? You’re so
sure I’m beneath you, that you could remove a main event and laugh in her face.
Right? Keep talking big, Sienna. I see right through it. Hit me with the Kiss
of an Angel again! End me like you claim. But just remember I can put you down
just as fast…last week for example, when I hit you with the Cash Out. And there
is nothing more I want to do that for you to hit you with that on the biggest
stage of wrestling.”
We cut to see the two in the
ring. Sienna steps up.
Sienna: “Try it again! You hit
it for the last time last week!”
Jordan: “We’ll see Sienna.
Because as far as I’m concerned, it’s going to be who
is faster…and with all of the ego you need to carry, I think I have the edge.
And I’m going to love watching the next temper tantrum after Rise to
Greatness!”
Sienna steps up and Xiomara
holds her back. Jordan just stands a few feet away.
Sienna: “Let go of me!”
Xiomara: “You’re making a
mistake.”
We then see Jordan standing on
the stage as Sienna yells into the microphone.
Sienna: “I can’t wait to end you
this Sunday! That WILL be perfect!”
The song ends as does the
recap. The Rise to Greatness XVII logo comes across the screen.
Winters: “Tonight, Jordan
Majors and Sienna Swann will clash.”
Lyman: “I’ve had a lot of
history with Sienna. But she’s become almost something
different. She’s always been a high-level competitor, but lately, it’s been
almost scary how she’s been.”
Tanaka: “That makes her
dangerous. At the same time, someone motivated to take one down, that’s sometimes even more dangerous. Two good athletes
going at it. Two very different approaches.”
Lyman: “That’s an
understatement.”
Winters: “We will find out who
walks away winner tonight. But for now, let’s go
backstage where Jaina Lancaster is standing by with
some news and notes.”
We cut to the backstage area
where Jaina Lancaster is standing by.
Jaina: “Thank you Jessica. We’re backstage
here and I hope get a word with some of the talent
here backstage. But we have one story to follow. Alistaire
Allocco has yet to arrive here to the building. He’s normally one of the first
to show up and for some reason, he’s not here.”
Jaina pauses.
Jaina: “Now, oddly enough, Peyton
Rice is here. We’ll show some footage of her arriving
later. But Allocco not here. Big match. And we’ve had
some rumours of some personal issues being a problem. A story to follow here
tonight.”
Jessica: “Thank you Jaina. Hiro Tanaka, you talked about him, anything to add.”
Tanaka: “All I can say is that
he’s ready and he will be ready for tonight.”
Jessica: “Alright. Well, at
this point, let’s go to another part of the backstage
area to Abby Hudson of supremecw.com who is standing by with the challengers
for the World Tag Team Championship.”
In another part of the
backstage area we see Abby Hudson standing with Regan Street and Selena Frost.
Abby: “Thank you Jessica.
Regan, Selena, tonight, you hope to make history, but it’s
not a match where it’s high stakes for the titles. If you lose, Selena, you
lose the US title and Regan, you don’t get another
crack at this until the Connection loses the titles. Tonight, it’s all or
nothing.”
Regan smirks.
Regan: “All or nothing.
Selena, tell the world what happens when I see a must win.”
Selena: “You kick ass. I’d
know.”
Regan: “Sorry to put it out
there so bluntly, but I look at this event. I look at must wins as something
that just motivates me. Whether it was someone who I call a sister now, in
Selena…or Datura, or Brittany Lohan. I rise to this occasion. You want to make
it all or nothing, Kandis, Tommy…you’ve made it
personal by acting like jackasses. So this, this just
adds the extra motivation. I hope to walk out Supreme Champion…”
Regan pauses briefly.
Regan: “And I plan to do just
that.”
Selena: “As for my US Title,
Kandis can make every comment she wants. Tommy can too. I don’t
care. I’m here for my sister. I’m
here to stand here to give her something she’s never held. The World Tag Team
Championship. And trying to let her have her moment in history. One the biggest
stage in wrestling. It’s as simple as that. And if it’s at their expense. So be it. But adding my title on the
line. It just added to the motivation. So Tommy,
Kandis, you can hope all you want to walk out a double champion, but the fact
is…we’re seeing history made tonight. Believe it!”
Abby: “Regan, Selena, best of
luck tonight.”
Abby turns to the camera.
Abby: “Now to Gavin Sattler,
who is with the SCW World Tag Team Champions.”
The camera angle changes to
Gavin Sattler who has Kandis standing next to him, playing with his collar.
Tommy Valentine smirks.
Gavin: “Thank you Abby. I’m with the SCW World Tag Team Champions, Kandis and Tommy
Valentine. We just heard from the challengers-“
Kandis: “Please, Gavin. Why
would we bother to listen to whatever crap they spew.”
Tommy: “But they’re so right,
Kandis. I mean, it’s not like Regan isn’t a raging bitch.”
Kandis: “She is though,
Tommy.”
Tommy: “That’s my point.
Acting like she’s right. And all of this talk about
making history.”
Kandis: “Setting themselves up
for failure and for one of us to add some more gold.”
Tommy: “You or me? Who would
look better as US Champion.”
Kandis smirks.
Tommy: “Trick question. Let’s let Regan and Selena think they have the moral high
ground. We just have a simple plan…it’s called winning
and shutting them up for a long time. Because they won’t be coming after our
titles.”
Kandis: “I mean we have a date
with the Golden Boys and Adam Allocco…he seems like someone I could have some
fun messing with. Regan, Selena…that’s something I don’t want to miss out on.”
Tommy: “Same for the US title.
So Regan and Selena can talk about this was personal. It’s been that for a while and in the process, I’ve beaten
Dave, I’ve beaten Jake…and WE will beat Frozen Hell and delay this hope for a
new Supreme Champion…and on the biggest stage in wrestling. How great is that.”
Kandis: “Can’t think of
anything better. Right Gavin?”
Gavin: “Uh…yeah…yeah…”
Gavin looks around as Kandis
smirks and Tommy chuckles as we cut away. We cut to a panning shot of the
stadium, showing fans continuing to head to their seats.
Winters: “Both team confident
here at Rise to Greatness. High stakes as we said.”
Lyman: “You don’t put the
highly motivated in a high pressure situation.”
Tanaka: “But when you see someone
like Tommy and Kandis, a team that has surpassed a lot of expectations and
Tommy, he just beat David. Kandis, she’s looking for
the breakout win. Retribution was theirs as a team. Tonight…”
Winters: “We will find out.
And they’ve had a storied rivalry for most of 2020 so
far. With the tunes of Shooting Stars by Rising Sun, let’s
look at their history.”
The Rise to Greatness XVII
logo comes up on the screen.
The
opening vocal harmony of “Shooting Stars” by Rival Sons places as we see shots
of Regan Street and Selena Frost standing in the ring, before showing them
standing across from the Jackass and Big Ass Connection.
My love is stronger than yours
It's stronger than yours
It's stronger than yours
My love is stronger than your hate will ever be
This is followed by a shot of
their number one contendership match from Breakdown
on February 26, 2020. Kandis grabs at the ropes as Selena pulls Tommy up and
Tommy shoves him back and Regan knees him in the ribs and then again and again.
Selena goes to run forward, but Kandis reaches in and trips her up. Selena hits
the mat. Kandis slides back in and the official goes to stop her, but Kandis
runs over and jumps up and hits the Starmaker on
Regan. Regan pulls Tommy back as she falls down. Tommy
rolls through and ends up on his feet only for Selena to nail him with the
Glass Shard. Tommy falls back and next to Regan. Kandis turns and runs at
Selena and clotheslines her up and over, both go up and over to the floor. The
referee then counts as we see Regan’s arm over Tommy and Tommy’s arm over
Regan.

Shots of Infamous, Frozen Hell
and the Jackass and Big Ass Connection come up on the screen before we cut to
the ending moments. Regan then places her foot on the back of Ravyn’s head. She lifts it up and drives her into the mat, before Christy runs over and kicks her in the ribs
before hitting the Happily Never After. The crowd boos. Christy rolls over and
gets up only to turn into the Knee Deep from a recovering Tommy Valentine. The
crowd cheers. Tommy dives back and throws his arm over Christy.

social media has made this more personal, with Regan’s attacks on their
relationship, to Tommy Valentine firing back, and Kandis making various
comments following.

It's better than yours
My dancing is better than your marching will ever be
Shots of Selena and Regan are
shown, before cutting to show David Helms and Regan Street together and David
Helms and Tommy Valentine standing in the ring before showing Xander Valentine.
We cut to the end of the Jason Helms/David Helms cage match from Fatal
Fortunes. Lucas Knight and Tommy Valentine talk before Tommy nails Lucas in the
back with the tag titles, following up with a shot of David Helms getting up in
his face. This is followed by Helms and Valentine trading blows.

United States Championships.
The Rise to Greatness XVII
logo comes up on the screen as we see the panning shot of the stadium again.
Winters: “Regan Street looks
to make history tonight. Tommy Valentine and Kandis look to end it. While
Selena Frost looks to help her friend and-“
???: “Yeah, yeah, yeah. We get
to hear them talk about a whole bunch of things. All while just being terrible
people-“
Winters: “Holly Adams?”
We cut to the luxury box to
see Holly Adams in the room, getting in the face of Jessica Winters.
Holly: “Look, I get it. But
just because you look like someone beat you in the face with a shovel, doesn’t
mean you have to throw yourself at promoting the holy hell out of the twin
fires of hell and jackassery.”
Lyman: “Excuse me-“
Holly: “Hold it up there. Don’t come at me. I know your history. I don’t want your
next hospital visit on my hands. So
go back to judging everything from ringside. I’m here
because frankly, you needed something that really was going to get people
talking. It’s not whether Regan Street is going to
choke again and not make her little history. It’s not
whether Selena Frost will finally get sued by Disney. Hell, probably when she loses she’ll cut off her hair and take on the Julia Roberts
pixie haircut – barf.”
Holly fakes gagging.
Winters: “Shows everything you
know.”
Holly: “Hey, shovelface…what? I’m talking.”
Winters: “You don’t know the
first thing about them. You’ve just come back-“
Lyman: “Jessica…”
Winters: “Regan Street has
wanted this for a long time. And this has become personal. Add Selena, cutting
her hair…that’s all we need to know.”
Holly: “I know enough. I know
that the two of them suck. Period. And Selena especially is giving the Blondtourage a bad name. With that snow
white crap.”
Tanaka motions off camera.
Holly: “Regardless, I just
wanted to show up and provide some hot, blond content for the preview. Make
sure that my face is somewhere on this show and remind the world that Frozen
Hell can burn in hell. Get back to your lame show! Security…I’ve
got it. I’m out!”
Security comes into the scene
and Holly pulls away, and storms off. Security
follows. Jessica shakes her head.
Winters: “Rise to Greatness.
Everyone wants their bit of the spotlight.”
Tanaka: “One way to put it.”
We then cut away to see a shot
with the words “EARLIER TODAY” in the bottom corner. It shows Peyton Rice,
arriving with Owen Cruze and Kelcey
Wallace. Wallace is carrying a bag over her shoulder while Rice and Cruze drag their rolling luggage behind them. The sound of
fans cheering them as they arrive is heard. Rice looks up and waves as Cruze holds up his arm too. Kelcey
nods as they head into the building.
Winters: “And as noted
earlier, Cruze, Rice and Wallace all arriving
together. Big match for Owen tonight. Same for Peyton Rice.”
Lyman: “Adrenaline
Championship on the line against Glory Braddock. Rice has a unique challenge of
dealing with someone with a wealth of experience, and success. But Rice is a
future star. She’s already almost there. She needs to
be ready for anything against Braddock.”
Tanaka: “Especially when you
add the dimension of respect. Braddock may turn this more into lesson-making
than a match. She does, Rice needs to turn that around.”
Winters: “But as big as that
is, it’s become personal for Owen Cruze. Giovanni
Aries has ramped up his efforts. Attacking Mr. D. Attacking Kelcey
Wallace. Even having Owen Cruze see an image of his
dead father. All in this effort to destroy him.”
Lyman: “Thankfully Owen Cruze, I know him well. He’s as
strong as they come. I don’t mean physically. I mean
in terms of his heart, his will, his drive to compete. This has become personal
and Owen, with Kelcey Wallace at ringside, that can’t be a distraction. It has to be a strength.”
Tanaka: “But with someone like
Giovanni Aries, a psychological warfare specialist. He’s
already got some of the work done for him. And if its as bad as it looked two
weeks ago. Owen already more aggressive on Breakdown last week…this…this could
be Owen’s downfall. And Kelcey…she may just be a
distraction.”
Winters: “Personal is the
heart of it. Owen Cruze, Giovanni Aries…take a look.”
The Rise to Greatness XVII
logo comes up on the screen.
We hear the sound of psychedelic rock music in the background
as various colours flash on the screen, from red to
green to blue, all adding to the psychedelic feeling. We then start to hear the sound of laughter getting deeper and deeper, almost
sounding demonic. We see shots of Cain Adams and Alice Ames getting involved in
the World Tag Team Championship match between Owen Cruze
& Blake Mason and the Jackass and Big Ass Connection. This is followed by
shots of Cain Adams and Alice Ames attacking James Evans, a shot of Giovanni
Aries dragging Jason Helms into the Wonderland hold in their Wonderland match,
before cutting to show Giovanni Aries laughing backstage. This is followed by a
shot of Giovanni Aries and the Wonderland being stopped by Sasha, Dean Black and security as Owen Cruze, Kelcey Wallace and others around.
Aries: “It’s just the beginning!
While you all fight for your accolades and your titles, Sasha has made us more
dangerous than ever!”
Aries laughs as we then see Owen
Cruze coming into view. A few officials turn and keep
him back. Kelcey Wallace is a few steps behind.
Cruze: “You have a problem with me.
After years of desperately wanting me on your side!”
Giovanni Aries just laughs. Kelcey walks over and gets Cruze’s
attention, grabbing his arm.
Kelcey: “Focus on later. Focus there.
Not him.”
Aries: “Yes…focus on more gold.
Surpassing your family! BE A SLAVE TO IT ALL!”
We then
flash forward to Owen Cruze and Aaron Blackbourne
celebrating as Kelcey walks over and raises their
arms, taking the place of the official. The crowd cheers before we hear the sound of someone tut-tutting. Owen looks around.
???: “How nice…the Golden Child
returns to his winning ways, hailed by the imperfect one. All just days after
they show true colours?”
Sharper: “That’s Giovanni
Aries!”
Owen starts to look around.
Owen: “Show yourself! Come on!”
Kelcey glares. We then see Giovanni
Aries saunter out from the back, holding a microphone. He leans on his cane and
looks down.
Giovanni: “I’ve heard it all
Owen, but now, through arrogance, the façade breaks down. People claim that my
words are delusions, but the reptilian ways of all of you are laid bare by the
MINUTE!”
The crowd boos.
Giovanni: “And I’ve just gotten
started….Oh…things will not be the same anymore. Not
after tonight…Enjoy the easy life because Owen, you
and your Perfect Pack, you will go down in flames! There will be no convincing,
no understand, just DESTRUCTION!”
We then see static come up on
the screen, followed by the return of psychedelic colours, and the music from
before coming more distorted as we see a shot of the Wonderland in Mr. D’s
office.
Giovanni: “See, you’ve just not
stopped, even with you stepping back. Keeping the major office. While Sasha is
in charge. The king will never give up his Kingdom…not unless its forced to.”
Mr. D: “What are you talking
about?”
We then see a shot of Mr. D
getting attacked, with Cain Adams slamming him face and chest first into his
mahogany desk. He then lifts him up and throws him down onto it. We then cut to
see the shot of the mannequin being thrown from the window of Mr. D’s office, landing
right outside on the pavement.
Aries: “See, we said we would
destroy. And you know, Owen, it’s simple. See,
Lizards…they’re like snakes. Cut off the head…and the
body dies….well…”
The static returns as do the
psychedelic colours, now overlapping with the picture as we see Owen Cruze, Peyton Rice, Aaron Blackbourne
and Kelcey Wallace coming to the ring, ready to
fight. We then see the spotlight that followed Aaron Blackbourne,
courtesy of Shilo Valiant obscure some of the
battleground before elcey: “Gio’s
not here!”
Owen
looks around before turning back to Cain.
Owen:
“Where is he?!”
Cain
swats away and Blackbourne and Cruze
both jump on him as Kelcey walks around the ring and
over toward the announce position, her silhouette all that’s
really seen. Owen turns to Cain.
Owen:
“Where is he?”
Cain
laughs and swings again and Owen stomps him. We cut back to Kelcey.
Kelcey: “Get
the house lights on. Can this all with Shilo and his
spotlight?!”
Kelcey turns
back and just then, we see a shadow behind Kelcey at
the ringside area. The spotlight ends replaced with the house lights. Kelcey then is spun around by Giovanni Aries who stands at
ringside and Aries nails her in the head with a picture frame. The glass
shatters as Kelcey goes down. Giovanni then steps
forward. He throws the picture frame down, showing it to be the picture of Kelcey Wallace and Mr. D from Mr. D’s office.
Sharper:
“No! Giovanni! He was in the shadows!”
Knots:
“That picture! Kelcey’s down!”
Sharper:
“Owen Cruze! He’s coming around!”
Giovanni
Aries just looks at Kelcey as Owen gets up, seeing
Giovanni and runs around the ring. He runs at Giovanni who quickly hops the
barricade and runs through the crowd. Owen runs over and leaps over the
barricade in full stride and running after Giovanni. Peyton Rice runs over and
heads over to Kelcey checking on her. Kelcey turns, wincing in pain, as we see the glass having
cut her face, with several small gashes. The static returns before we
cut to see Giovanni Aries in the ring, ready to fight Blake Mason before Owen Cruze attacks him from behind. The static continues,
showing the attack, and how clearly Owen is attacking Giovanni from behind.
Sharper: “Owen Cruze from behind. He came from the crowd. Teeing off on
Giovanni before the Wonderland swarms!”
We then cut to see Giovanni
Aries, Kelcey Wallace and Owen Cruze
in the ring.
Giovanni: “Oh the point…well who
wants revenge?”
Giovanni smiles as he steps
forward.
Giovanni: “You, Owen….or you, Kelcey.”
Giovanni cackles.
Giovanni: “I will only face one
of you! I will face one of you at Rise to Greatness and the other one NEVER.
And if you think I’m bluffing, I will tell the Lizard
Kingdom I am done with them and I will quit tonight. And just think of what I’ll then be capable of. Because I’ll
have nothing to lose…Because the Wonderland will win one way or another! It’s
just slow or fast…”
We then see shots of Owen Cruze defeating Shaun Cruze at
Cold Blooded.
Giovanni: “Come on, Owen! You
already beat your uncle in your last episode of vanity. But can you step in
front of mentor against me when it counts? Come on…snuff it out! One of you!
Prove one of you matters more than the other…just as the Lizard Kingdom would!”
We then cut to see Kelcey Wallace getting her send off at the End of the Year
Special 2017.
Giovanni: “Can you look her in
the eye and tell her that she doesn’t matter now-“
Kelcey then grabs the microphone from
Giovanni. The crowd roars as Giovanni looks at her, smiling. He just keeps
saying yes over and over before changing to “expose yourself” over and over.
Kelcey: “Giovanni!”
Giovanni smiles more.
Kelcey: “Owen Cruze
is going to kick your ass at Rise to Greatness and I’ll be at ringside to watch
it!”
Giovanni
smirks as we then cut to the following week where Owen Cruze
is in the ring with Cain Adams and Alice Ames.
Cain: “You will speak to him one
way or another.”
Owen looks at Cain as the crowd
starts to chant for Owen.
Cain: “Have your petty victory.”
Owen then looks down at Cain and
places his boot on his chest.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd gives a bit of a mixed
reaction, some booing. The bell sounds.
Phillips: “Here are your
winners, Aaron Blackbourne and Owen Cruze!”
We then
cut to see Owen Cruze with Giovanni Aries, by a car,
in the parking area. Kelcey Wallace and Peyton Rice
are with Owen.
Giovanni: “For him to come with
me for an evening. I promise I won’t physically harm
him. A year ago, I tried to make you open your eyes. You kept them closed.”
Kelcey: “Don’t go Owen.”
Rice: “She’s right.”
Owen just looks at Giovanni.
Giovanni: “But I feel like I owe
you…Your father and I have been talking-“
We then cut to see shots from
the amateur video, showing Owen Cruze with Giovanni
Aries walking into a warehouse, cutting forward to them inside, before showing
a shot of Owen Cruze backstage, just looking forward,
trying to come to terms, before cutting to shots of Owen Cruze
experiencing joy.
Owen:
“Dad…You….you’re dead…”
We cut
to see Giovanni Aries smiling.
Owen:
“What…you’re not….What are you saying?”
Giovanni:
“You should listen to him…”
We cut to Owen snapping at
Giovanni.
Owen:
“SHUT UP!”
We then cut to black before
seeing Kelcey Wallace with Owen Cruze
backstage.
Owen:
“For a moment I thought it was actually him…I bought into it. I thought it was
a game. I wanted that motivation. If my hunch was right…but then…I wanted it to
be true…and when he starts saying what Giovanni…it sounded just like him.”
Kelcey: “I
know…”
Owen
just continues to look out.
Kelcey: “I
don’t know what to say except…Giovanni said he would destroy you. And all we
now know is that he’ll do anything he can to do it.”
Following
this, we cut to Owen Cruze walking to the ring. He
stands alone, by himself, and looks out at the crowd.
Knots: “We saw the footage last
week and it messed with Owen. Giovanni somehow convincing Owen that not only he
was speaking to his dead father, but that his dead father was upset with him.
That’s screwed up!”
Sharper: “And it makes you
wonder what Giovanni Aries is doing. Either way, we’ve
been told that Sasha has effectively banned the Wonderland from the arena to
protect Owen and others. But this Sunday, no such protection.”
Owen:
“I’m standing here now, trying to come to terms with the one thing I wasn’t
ready to face…that I had disappointed my father. In this last year, I’ve won the World Title. I beat Syren
in singles action. I beat my uncle in what is his last match.”
Owen
looks up again.
Owen: “I
know I didn’t disappoint him. I know that he’d be
looking down on my proud. Because I know him. And that I doubted that just
once…Giovanni…you may be banned tonight because Sasha thought it would be best
for me…she was wrong. It’s best for you!”
The
crowd roars as we cut to see a shot of Owen Cruze
attacking Giovanni Aries again, the attack from behind again.
Owen:
“You’ve made it damn clear in my head. I’m not only
fighting for me, but for Mr. D, for Kelcey, for my
father who’s memory you pissed on because you thought it would gain you points,
you pathetic delusional son of a bitch!”
The
crowd roars and the “Owen” chant returns. Owen looks out at the crowd.
Owen:
“And I’m going to make you pay for that, the way it needs to be done, in the
middle of this damn ring at Rise to Greatness!”
We then cut to see Peyton Rice
getting Owen’s attention. We then cut forward, static at each point, to show
Owen walking backstage, grabbing a piece of pipe, and then joined by Kelcey Wallace, and then approaching Giovanni Aries
backstage, as he’s blocked from entering. Security
steps between the two.
Giovanni:
“Ah Owen! Have I opened your eyes finally?!”
Owen:
“Opened my eyes wide! Hope you’re ready Sunday!”
Giovanni
laughs a bit.
Giovanni:
“Hope Kelcey enjoys what she’ll watch! Lando too!”
Owen
lunges again, but is stopped by Black and security.
The scene abruptly cuts to black as the sound of Giovanni Aries laughing is
heard. The Rise to Greatness XVII logo comes up on the screen.
Back in the stadium, we see a
shot of Jaina Lancaster standing by.
Winters: “Welcome back, before
we return to the panel, Jaina Lancaster is standing
by with an update on Alistaire Allocco.”
Jaina nods.
Jaina: “Thank you Jessica. Yes, we
can confirm Alistaire Allocco is here. He did arrive
roughly an hour again and has been getting checked by medical here to make sure
he is cleared for tonight. One person who saw him noted he arrived with Hiro
Tanaka and another woman, we believe this is Claire Bailey, a former associate
for his father and someone he was notable in Majestic Wrestling. Alistaire also looked to be in rough shape. We are being
told that SCW officials are pushing back the match until later in the evening
as Alistaire has requested some time to warm up,
apologizing for his late arrival. But a surprising turn of events here on the
night of Rise to Greatness. Jessica?”
Winters: “Thank you Jaina and a surprise to say the least.”
The scene changes to the
luxury box and Winters turns to Tanaka and Lyman.
Winters: “Hiro, you came with
him and you mentioned he was ready but not that he was here.”
Tanaka: “For that I apologize.
The young man had some rough news over the last couple of days and it was not
my place. All I can say is that he is taking his match with Matt Hodges very
seriously and he will have no excuses whatsoever for his effort tonight.”
Lyman looks a bit surprised.
Winters: “Fair enough. We will
find out. Meanwhile, Gavin Sattler is standing by with Alistaire’s
opponent, Matt Hodges, who has been watching all of this play out. Gavin?”
The scene changes to Gavin
Sattler who is standing with Matt Hodges, who is seated on a bench in his
locker room, his left leg up.
Sattler: “Thank you Jessica.
Matt, tonight, you face Alistaire Allocco and there’s been some discussion about Allocco’s late arrival.
But this whole situation-“
Hodges stops him.
Hodges: “Maybe he’s just
realizing the seriousness of this. I mean he’s already
on one leg…like I may be. I’ve been cleared. Let’s hope he is. All I see is that this is going to be an
excuse when I outwrestle him tonight. The man thinks he’s
amazing. He’s not. He’s
human. And well, I am someone who is going to make him
come to terms with that. He will understand that when people think of World
Class, it will be of me.”
Hodges smirks.
Hodges: “I just hope whatever
is holding him up tonight isn’t too serious. I’d hate
for this to be complete downfall. He’s a decent hand.
Someone good to have around. Even if he is as naïve as a four
year old.”
The camera focuses on Hodges
for a few moments as we cut to the panning shot of the stadium, seeing it’s more filled than earlier.
Winters: “Hodges all business
and clearly no time for concern. I don’t buy that late statement.”
Lyman: “I don’t either.”
Winters: “You said he’s ready
Hiro, but Hodges is too.”
Tanaka: “I am not concerned. Alistaire Allocco is one of the best pure talents I’ve ever
seen.”
Lyman: “Talent is great and it can help. But it’s not
all. There’s the psychological. There’s
also the physical here. We know he’s hurt. Hodges is
too. Hodges is used to the injury and the nagging effects of it. Allocco is
not. And if there’s something else…”
Tanaka: “He will be fine.”
Winters: “One other individual
we’ll be looking to see how he performs tonight, Cid Turner. Cid Turner has had
one match back. He only threw a punch. He looked out of place. Even just
getting in the ring was a big issue for him. He will return to the ring, on
this big stage, teaming with Asher Hayes. They’ll face Dark Fantasy, and
they’ll have this man, CHBK in his corner, who is standing by with Abby
Hudson.”
The scene changes to show CHBK
standing outside of the locker room of Dark Fantasy, wearing a suit. Next to
him is Abby Hudson.
Hudson: “CHBK, tonight, your
team, Dark Fantasy, Syren and Ravyn
Taylor, return to action on Rise to Greatness and they will face the team of
Asher Hayes and the returning Cid Turner. You have a long history with Cid and we’ve not heard as much from you in recent weeks. You seem
to be one of the main connectors here.’
CHBK: “It seems like some people
can’t let go of the past. It’s not my fault that I
surpassed everything Cid did. That’s all I can think
about this is for him…jealousy. I’ve built a legacy.
Not just in that ring, but in managing the greatest wrestler in wrestling
history in Syren and the greatest tag team in
wrestling history. Syren is out for blood. Ravyn Taylor is there to figure out, along with myself, how
to best do it. While Cid can have his hope for revenge or jealousy or just
petty rage…maybe he looked in the mirror, realized how crappy his life is, and
figured he’d try to get one last shot over old CHBK!
Asher Hayes provided the opportunity…the disrespect dumbass that he’s always been. People say how he’s
changed. No…he may not longer be running with Rachel Foxx, but he still makes
dumb decisions. He wanted to take a shot at Infamous. We made him pay. Cid just
delayed in inevitable. That inevitable is tonight. If Cid can figure out his
left foot from his right, maybe how to do more than throw a punch, we may have
a good match. If not, Dark Fantasy is just going to add a hall of famer to
their list of victories and remind everyone that they are second to no one.”
CHBK smirks.
CHBK: “Almost like they should
expect some heartbreak tonight.”
Hudson: “One more question…any
thoughts on Christy Matthews and her interesting comments last night?”
We then see Lexy Chapel run into the scene.
Lexy: “Dad! Dad…”
CHBK: “What is it?”
Lexy: “You haven’t seen that
bear…he’s not come for you. I’m worried he’s going to make it personal!”
CHBK: “I’m fine and no…”
Lexy: “Damn it!”
Lexy then turns and runs off. CHBK
turns to Abby.
CHBK: “Enjoy the show.”
CHBK turns back and enters into the locker room.
The Rise to Greatness XVII
logo comes up on the screen.
The
recap opens with a shot of Infamous standing in the ring, Syren
with a microphone. She stops in front of Ravyn
Taylor.
Syren: “My wife Ravyn…one
half of the greatest tag team in SCW History. The final Women’s Champion. The
longest reigning US Champion. And someone who damn
sure deserved another crack at the World Title. Oh yeah, and the winner of the
2015 Taking Hold of the Flame! And of course, a hall of famer”
Syren smirks. She turns to CHBK.
Syren: “CHBK…a man synonymous with
this company. A five time World Champion. A hall of
famer. A world class mentor. And winner of the first Taking Hold of the Flame.”
Syren stops and turns to the crowd.
Syren: “Between Ravyn
and CHBK, they are two people who can outthink anyone in this company. They
have thought of everything. They KNOW everything. And you’re overlooking them…”
Syren scoffs.
Syren: “And then there’s me.”
The crowd boos.
Syren: “I am part of the greatest tag
team in SCW history. I am the longest reigning Women’s Champion. I’ve won the World Title more than anyone. SEVEN times! I am
a Hall of Famer and I am the greatest female wrestler in the world today!”
We then
cut to see Asher Hayes backstage, watching on a monitor.
Backstage, we see Asher Hayes
standing at one of the monitors, shaking his head.
Asher: “Yeah, that’ll revive it.
Gotta love it. The group that never realizes people
have finally caught up to their crap. Christy Matthews
can keep being a meatshield. Ravyn
Taylor can scheme in the background and Syren,
overrated. Finally people realized that she had a good
one.”
Asher steps back as Beard stands
there.
Beard: “Don’t like Infamous,
take it to them.”
Asher nods.
Asher: “Yeah…we’ll see. I need
to grab a snack or something.”
Beard: “Catering is just down
there-“
Asher: “Nah…wash this all down
with something stronger.”
We then cut forward to see Asher
in the concourse.
Hayes: “Anything more than beer?
Like vodka. Can’t just give me a shot.”
Concession operator: “Sorry.
Just beer here.”
Hayes: “Jesus. Well, whatever,
here.”
Hayes places a twenty down as he
turns his back. We see a few fans coming over.
Hayes: “Yeah, yeah, I can give
you a autograph. Here…”
Hayes grabs one of their pens
and starts to sign a couple of things before Asher turns back and gets the beer
thrown in his face. Asher staggers back as we then see Alexander Crowe climbing
over the counter. We then see CHBK, Ravyn Taylor and Syren running into view and Syren
gets a good shot on Asher, causing him to fall over. Security in the area
starts to first work on getting fans out of the way.
Sharper: “My God! Infamous!
Infamous!”
We flash
forward to see Asher trying to fight back, before cutting forward to seeing Syren get a couple of shots in. Flashes of the melee
continue before we see CHBK pulled back and punched by one straggly fan.
Knots: “Fans getting involved!”
Sharper: “CHBK got clocked!”
We cut to see the fan getting
pushed down and handcuffed as CHBK starts to get up, blinking. Syren heads over and starts to yell at the fan.
Syren: “Who hit him! What cowardly bitch hit him?”
We cut to shots from the SCW
website, showing that Asher Hayes bailed out the fan. We then cut to see Asher
Hayes and Syren in the ring before Asher dives
through the ropes and onto Ravyn Taylor and CHBK. We
see another melee continue. CHBK gets up as we then cut to see security holding
someone back from the crowd, camera side. The camera turns to show the same fan
from last week. He tries to get past and CHBK gets up and points him. Ravyn turns and sees this. She turns back. CHBK then steps
around Hayes. Syren stomps him a few times before Syren realizes what CHBK is doing. She runs over and then
sees the fan. She grabs at him. The crowd roars and the fan suddenly throws a right hand, nailing Syren.
Syren falls back. The crowd roars. The fan falls into
the ringside area.
Sharper: “Oh God! Watch it!
Watch it!”
Knots: “That’s that same fan.”
We see Asher then chasing after
the fan.
"We shall fight on the
beaches. We shall fight on the landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields,
and in the streets. We shall fight in the hills. We shall NEVER
surrender!"
The video suddenly burns away to reveal a second hidden image of the devious
ex-president George H. W. Bush giving a speech of his own...
"When we are successful, and we will be, we'll have a real chance at this
new world order..."
The scene forwards to show
Infamous heading to the ring.
Ravyn: “I hope you don’t mind this
interlude. While Angels struggle with sanity, and boys try to become men by
facing the delusional, we have an investigation and interrogation to conduct.
The last two weeks a so-called fan has struck members of our faction. First the
legendary CHBK and then the equally as legendary Syren.
While security has valiantly…”
Ravyn makes a face.
Ravyn: “…attempted to protect us. He
has gotten lucky shots in. In the midst of this, one Asher Hayes, a man who frankly should not be
uttering our names from his mouth has failed to receive the lesson he should
have. And so we come to tonight. To this fan, we can
make you a star!”
We then see Asher Hayes heading
to the ring.
Asher: “I don’t even know if
he’s here, but all I know is that he’s got some actual good judgment since he
knows to save my ass and he’s knocked two of you loopy, so I hope he’s around
to make it three for three.”
Asher then pulls himself onto
the apron.
Asher: “But you’re not going to
go back there to kick his ass just because he’s gotten you twice.”
Ravyn: “Let’s test to see what
happens…maybe third time is the charm.”
Crowe and Richter drop to the
floor and quickly block off the two ways for Asher to go. Asher nods.
Asher: “Well I do owe you an
ass-kicking.”
Asher enters and kicks Ravyn in the ribs before Syren taks him down. We then see Ravyn
barking to keep him in the middle as Asher tries to fight, but Infamous gets
the advantage, clubbing him in the back before CHBK hits the Bittersweet
Ending.
Sharper: “This is a mugging.
Asher Hayes came down to protect this fan.”
We see Ravyn
hitting the Evolutionary Synthesis before we see the fan heading to the ring.
CHBK smirks as he heads up to interview him as security keeps him back.
CHBK: “So, since you’ve run away
from Asher and well, you have a decision. We can keep kicking his ass or we can
find out who you are. Stretch out your fifteen minutes of fame before we end
them the only way we know now. So…Who the hell are you?”
CHBK extends the microphone as
security remains standing between the two. The fan looks around, his eyes
darting, but always coming back to CHBK.
Fan: “You want to know who I am?
I’ve been forgotten….yeh…..”
The fan scoffs.
CHBK: “Wait a minute…I thought I
saw something familiar-“
Fan: “Yeah…because I’ve kicked
your ass in the past. I’m Cid Turner!”
Sharper: “What?!”
Just then, Cid reaching over and
nails CHBK with another hard right.
Knots: “Cid Turner?! Wait! The Masta of Speed!”
CHBK stumbles back and falls off
the stage, but lands on his feet. He holds his jaw. The crowd roars as Cid
turns and nails one security member and then the other. He looks over as Syren and Ravyn drop to the
floor. They head up the rampway as Cid closes his eyes, almost reliving his
past. He goes to jump off, but turns as Syren and Ravyn head up the
rampway. Cid backs up as the crowd roars and almost as if transforming back to
the person he was, he looks around and heads to the back quickly. “Instant
History” by Biffy Clyro plays as we see the following week. We see Infamous in
the ring as Ravyn Taylor’s voice is heard.
Ravyn: “Next
week, we’ll agree to a match. At Rise to Greatness, you, Cid Turner, can be a
star for one night only. If you want, bring Asher Hayes. You two can form SCW’s
newest tag team and face Syren and myself…SCW’s
greatest tag team at Rise to Greatness.”
The
crowd roars.
Sharper:
“Whoa…big challenge!”
Ravyn smiles.
Ravyn: “But
we want one thing…this time…no running. We want you to come to the middle of
the ring to accept. See you then.”
We cut to see Cid Turner at
ringside with Asher Hayes as Infamous is ready to pounce.
Cid: “Fine! I accept! I’ll face you! Him too!”
Asher stops and turns and Cid
steps back and looks around, his eyes darting around the arena. The crowd
cheers.
Ravyn: “Hold it, hold it…what was
that?”
Syren looks at Cid and smiles as
Hayes watches Syren and Crowe. Just then, Cid takes
the microphone from Hayes. He then looks at the ring.
Cid: “Yeah! I accept! Us versus
you!”
We see Cid then heading to the
back, talking to himself with Asher Hayes standing ready to defend him.
Dear God
Adjust my dreams for me
All I learned is instant history
Is this how
The surface will break?
Releasing the pressure
The horrors that await
We see shots of Cid Turner and
Asher Hayes going to the ring for a match. Cid Turner looks terrified of
entering the ring, before we cut to see him punching one of his opponents, but
Asher Hayes getting the win. We then cut to see Cid Turner now in the ring,
looking around as Asher Hayes look at him and Syren
can be seen annoyed, storming to the ring with Infamous. Hayes drops to the
floor grabbing two steel chairs as Cid and Asher get ready to fight Infamous
before officials break it up.
Hell hath no fury like a human born
Its only real if you can't replace it
And now I'm losing all control
Why do I fear it?
We cut to show Cid Turner
uncertain backstage. He takes a deep breath as we see shots of Cid Turner
lacking confidence around the ring.
Syren: “Let’s
make this simple – they’re getting in the ring with the GREATEST TAG TEAM IN
WRESTLING PERIOD! You’ve been pissing us off for what?
For this…you know what, at Rise to Greatness, let’s
make this simple. We’re going to take two people who
were from SCW’s past. Two people who think they were the greatest. Asher may be
clean, but he’s not going to have much of a future. If
that’s your back-up, we’ll finish what we started two
weeks ago. And as for Cid…we’ll cap off Rise to
Greatness by taking out another legend. If that’s the best he has…we’re just
going to remind everyone how dominant we were!”
As the final chorus plays, we
see Syren running in to attack Cid. Ravyn and Christy head to Hayes
who kicks Christy in the ribs and grabs Ravyn,
attacking her. Syren goes to throw a hard right to
Cid, but as if out of instinct, he blocks it and kicks her in the ribs and
throws into the backdrop. Cid turns and grabs Ravyn
and pulls her away, but as Hayes goes to deal with Christy, Cid steps out and
right into a superkick from CHBK! The crowd ohs and
boos.
Sharper:
“Cid and Hayes fighting off Infamous!”
Knots: “Syren setting it up and oh!”
Sharper:
“CHBK from the side. Getting his shot in!”
Cid hits
the mat and Syren turns around and runs over and
stomps away on Cid Turner. The crowd boos loudly as Cid covers up.
Sharper:
“They’ve finally got Cid! They’ve finally got him and are attacking him!”
Knots:
“Hayes can’t get to him. Christy and Ravyn have him!”
CHBK and
Syren both continue to stomp away as Hayes tries to
pull Ravyn off and then gets forearms from Christy
before kneeing her in the ribs. Ravyn comes over and
kicks him in the ribs and he falls over, reaching for Cid. The crowd boos as
now Christy and Ravyn stomp away on Hayes too.
Officials and security then run into the room to break it all up. CHBK steps
away as Syren does too. Cid coughs as he rolls over. Ravyn and Christy are pulled away as Hayes writhes in pain
too.
Sharper:
“An attack backstage…right on brand for Infamous.”
Knots:
“And worst yet…this was just crude. They knew it. They intended it. That’s a
slap in the face to them too!”
Sharper:
“No grand plan. Just straightforward attack. Another layer of disrespect and
worst of all, what’s this going to do to the confidence of Cid Turner and can Asher Hayes be ready to do more himself if he
has to!”
This is the sound that we make
We only exist in the noise that we bring
This is the sound that we make
And we can't unlearn what we've learned
I love the sound when it breaks
We try to position our lives on a string
This is the sound that we make
And we can't unhear what we've heard
We see a
shot of Cid Turner standing in the ring with Asher Hayes before cutting to show
Dark Fantasy confident as the scene fades to black on the final words of the
song. The Rise to Greatness XVII logo comes up on the screen.
The scene cuts back to the
luxury box. Jessica Winters welcomes us back in.
Winters: “Welcome back here to
the luxury box in the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. We just saw the
history. Cid Turner returns. He’s been getting more confidence,
but will that final attack set it all back.”
Lyman: “I almost wonder if
Dark Fantasy isn’t getting too confident. Cid Turner, I’ve
not known him. I’ve seen him in the ring. He was
great. He’s a Hall of Famer for a reason. But he doesn’t look like that Cid Turner of all. The Masta of Speed. The King of the World. He seems lost. Asher
Hayes meanwhile has been getting better and better after months of uncertainty
when he lost the Adrenaline Championship.”
Tanaka: “I’ve been around Cid.
This doesn’t remind of him. At the same time though, he’s never been one to follow. He’s
always done his own thing. I hope he’s ready. I hope he’s figured out what was missing. I know Asher has been
helping him. Will this work out? Will it be enough to stop Dark Fantasy?”
Lyman: “And that’s the issue.
Dark Fantasy is still clicking…People can look at their loss to Golden Boys.
Yeah, they lost. But because of Adam Allocco getting cute with the rules.
Tonight, there won’t be that happening. They can’t
afford it.”
Tanaka: “But you said it…are
they too arrogant? They know they’re good. That could
be a lot. And CHBK, he’s always been smarmy. So you know what, I hope Cid Turner surprises and shows up
like his old self. We may see some big disappointment!”
Winters: “That we may. Cid
Turner returns to the ring, properly, tonight, teaming with Asher Hayes and
against Dark Fantasy. But we are ready, however, to kick off the wrestling
portion of the evening. And at ringside, Adam Sharper and Jonathan Knots are
standing by. Gentlemen?”
The scene cuts to a panning
shot of the crowd for a few moments before cutting to the ringside announce
position where Adam Sharper and Jonathan Knots are seated.
Sharper: “Thank you Jessica!
Adam Sharper here with Jonathan Knots at ringside. And Jon, we’re almost
there.”
Knots: “You’re telling me. A
lot of people are backstage, and they’re going to be
nervous. If they’re not, they’re lying or they’re
planning on losing. This is a night people remember. Every year. And tonight, a
lot of people are hoping to have their crowning moments.”
Sharper: “And in the few
moments, folks, we’re going to see three individuals who have their own
desires. All three however are hoping to walk out tonight with an Adrenaline
Championship shot.”
Knots: “You also have two that
are working together. Gavin Taylor and Aubrianna
Powers. They both hate Jake Starr. But we saw it on Breakdown, Gavin Taylor
left Aubrianna to get double-teamed by Frozen Hell.
Will that happen tonight?”
Sharper: “Let’s find out and
let’s go to the ring.”
The opening chords of
"Sound of Madness" by Shinedown begin to echo throughout the stadium.
With each opening drum beat, the logo of the Social Misfits flashes on the
jumbotron...
Yeah, I get it you're an outcast
Always under attack always coming in last
Bringing up the past no one owes you anything
I think you need a shotgun blast a kick in the ass
So paranoid
WATCH YOUR BACK!
With those words, an explosion or pyro shoots high into the air from the stage
and in front of the stage in another wall of sparks. Lights start to circle the
arena as several spotlights turn to the stage. Jake Starr walks out from the
back and looks around. He just smiles and nods. He surveys the crowd, feeling
their energy and absorbing it all in. His nameplate comes up as Jake Starr
starts to head down to the ring. He makes his way down the rampway before going
to the guardrail and fist bumping a few fans and then going to the other side
before doing the same.
Phillips: “The following
contest is scheduled for onefall and has a twenty minute time limit and is for the number one contendership of the SCW Adrenaline Championship. First, on
his way to the ring, from Des Moines, Iowa, he is the Only Social Misfit
Remaining, Jake Starr!”
The crowd cheers as Starr runs over to the ring and jumps up onto the apron. He
steps into the ring. He immediately makes his way to the far corner, climbing
to the top rope. As the chorus hits, a spotlights
illuminate Jake and he simply stands there looking around at the fans with a
smirk on his face. He points at himself, and ultimately yells the words
"I'M NOT DEAD YET!"
Sharper: “Jake Starr looking
to get back to title contention. He’s been a thorn in
the side of so many this year. But since Taking Hold of the Flame, both Gavin
Taylor and Aubrianna Powers took issue with his role
in ruining their nights.”
Knots: “Yeah, but also the
Adrenaline Championship involved in this all. The question is whether he’s
going to have to consistently deal with a two on one and not the fun kind.”
Sharper: “The fun kind?”
Knots: “One day Adam, you’ll
got a wild bender and we’ll be there to support you in everything you’ve missed
out on in life.”
He looks around, continuing to
soak up the energy from the crowd before beating on his chest twice, and raises
his "Misfit Revolution Fist" high into the air, a gesture mimicked by
many fans in the crowd who have been supporters over the years. After this, he
goes camera side and climbs on the middle rope raising his arm one more time.
He looks around before hopping down and walking around the ring. Aubrianna Powers’ voice breaks the silence.
“I Am The Very Best…”
“I Am The Absolute Best…”
“…and I am the Sexiest of them all!”
After those words are uttered, “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake
starts to play. The crowd boos as we see the big screen flash a colour of pink
as Aubrianna Powers steps out from the back, wearing
a tiara and her SCW Mayhem Tag Team Championship belt. She just smirks as she
walks over to the middle of the stage and looks out at the booing fans. She
just shakes her head as her nameplate comes up.
Phillips: “Next, from Charlotte,
North Carolina, she is one half of the self-proclaimed MayheM
Tag Team Champions, the MVP of SCW, she is Aubrianna
Powers!”
She smirks smugly as she
confidently strides towards the ring. She makes the long walk to the ring as
the camera cuts to a wide shot, showing the scale of the spectacle. She reaches
ringside and Aubrianna steps up onto the ring apron
and strikes a sexy sultry pose which draws a few cheers from the male
contingent, despite the women who continue to boo. Aubrianna
then steps through the ropes and approaches the center where she poses again.
The music dies down and she waits patiently on her match to begin.
Sharper: “Aubrianna
Powers is still looking for her effective debut. She debuted at Taking Hold of
the Flame, but there hasn’t been much to meet her standards.”
Knots: “She wants the moment
to be on her. And tonight could be it. Tonight may help her get out of the blocks!”
The lights around the arena
begin to flicker as "Whoa Is Me" by Down With
Webster starts to play over the arena.
Whoa is me
I'm so whoa
See me decked out from my head to my toe
Whoa is me
I'm so whoa
Everywhere I go I'm a one man show
The crowd boos as we see, driven by his A.S.S., a golf cart. Gavin Taylor
stands on the back of it waving before taking off his SCW Mayhem Tag Team
Championship and holding it over his head. Then stands outstretched. His
nameplate comes up and after a moment, the cart starts to move. Gavin nearly
falls off, holding on before returning to waving to the crowd.
Phillips: “And finally, from
Vancouver, British Columbia by way of Los Angeles, California, he too is one
half of the self-proclaimed Mayhem World Tag Team Champions, the Man Who be
King, Your Next Adrenaline Champion, The All Star, Gavin Taylor!”
The crowd continues to boo as
the A.S.S. drive the cart down to the ring, bringing it to the stop at the
ringside area. Gavin steps off and walks past the cart and then rns over to the ring, pulling himself on onto the apron. He
hangs out off the ring, holding onto the top rope and looks around before
smiling. Gavin pulls himself through the ropes and steps onto the second ropes
on the opposite side of the ring from the ramp. He opens his jersey, sliding it
off his shoulders as he stretches his arms out. He then turns and hands his
title to the official. Powers does the same. The referee, Aaron Demitra, looks at both and shakes his head, handing them
off. Taylor and Powers then talk a bit before Starr looks at both.
Sharper: “And Gavin riding
into the ring. Both Powers and Taylor with their Mayhem Tag Titles.”
Knots: “Which we’ve found out
through some of the media events are part of his personal collection of
memorabilia!”
Sharper: “Gotta
love someone who has an ego like this.”
Knots: “Maybe found the
perfect partner in Powers. The two are working together. Title shot on the line
though. Uh…we’ll see here.”
Demitra steps back and checks with
everyone before calling for the bell. The crowd roars as the bell sounds and
Starr then runs across and kicks Gavin in the ribs. Powers back up and rolls
out of the ring. Taylor turns and throws a hard right. Starr blocks it and
nails him with a hard right. He then kicks him again. Powers goes to slide back
in, but Starr turns. Powers slides back out. The crowd roars. Starr turns and
chops Gavin. The crowd woos. He chops him again. Powers then goes to enter as
the crowd woos. Starr turns around again and kicks at the ropes. Powers backs
away. Starr turns back to Gavin as Gavin walks out and Starr clotheslines him
down.
Sharper: “Starr keeping Powers
at bay. Gavin Taylor right now finding himself on the other side of a Starr
ass-kicking.”
Knots: “Now with more ass to
kick! Gavin is a pretty big one!”
Starr turns as Gavin rolls
over and gets up. Starr scoops him up and slams him down. Powers now rolls into
the ring. She gets up to Starr and Starr turns and lifts her up and back drops
her. The crowd cheers and Powers rolls right out of the ring. Gavin gets up and
turns and Starr scoops him up and slams him down. Starr then hits an elbow drop
and goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Taylor kicks out. He rolls
over and gets up and Starr forearms him in the jaw. Powers rolls back into the
ring. She then runs over at Starr, but Starr looks up at the big screen and
ducks under as Powers jumps up and dropkicks Taylor up and over the top rope to
the floor.
Sharper: “Powers missed as
Starr used the big screen to notice her coming.”
Knots: “Veteran move. And who
said watching TV was bad for you!”
Sharper: “Taylor to the floor.
Powers now up and here comes Starr! He knows he needs to keep ahead of both if
they’re working together!”
Starr grabs Powers and hits a
snap suplex. Powers rolls over, holding her lower
back. She tries to move to the ropes, but Starr grabs her by the legs and pulls
her back in and then pulls her up and hoists her up and hits a snap back suplex. He goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Powers kicks out. Starr gets
up and Taylor holds his jaw in pain and Starr walks over and grabs Powers and
pulls her up. He whips her into the ropes. Powers bounces off and Starr scoops
her up, but Powers lands behind him. Starr turns around and Powers kicks him in
the thigh and then the ribs. She runs into the ropes and bounces off but Starr manages to lift her up and then turns and runs
to the ropes before just throwing her over the top rope and onto Taylor. The
crowd cheers.
Sharper: “Starr, beyond experience,
perhaps is the strongest one in this match and he just showed it. Lifting
Powers up on the rebound and using her to keep Taylor down!”
Knots: “The Most Valuable
Friendship in SCW just got closer!”
Sharper: “And it may again!
Starr climbing to the top!”
Powers and Taylor start to
pull themselves up, using each other to get up and Starr climbs up to the top
rope. He looks down and dives off with a crossbody taking down both. The crowd
erupts in cheers. Starr rolls through. He then starts to get up and grabs
Gavin.
Sharper: “Starr with the
dive!”
Knots: “And looks like Gavin
Taylor is his victim of choice.”
He pulls him up and turns and
runs him into the ring. Starr rolls in after. Taylor rolls over and staggers up
to his feet and Starr walks over and kicks him in the ribs and hits a DDT. He
rolls over and hooks the leg.
1!
2!
Gavin kicks out. Gavin rolls
over as Starr gets up. He then stomps Gavin in the back and then again. He
glances back at Powers who is still down, but crawling
around the ring. Starr then grabs Gavin and places him on the middle rope.
Starr starts to choke him for a moment before turning and running across the
ring. Powers ducks back behind the ring apron, almost trying to prevent Starr
from seeing where she is. Starr meanwhile jumps and lands on the back of Gavin.
Gavin falls back, holding his throat in pain. Powers scurries along the ring as
Starr turns back to look at ringside. Powers however rolls in behind him and
Starr turns back as Powers runs over and nails Starr with a spinning heel kick.
The crowd boos.
Sharper: “Powers got her
opening. Moved out of the area Starr last saw her.”
Knots: “Cameras not helping
this time.”
Powers then gets up and stomps
Starr in the chest over and over. The crowd boos. Gavin slowly gets up and holds
his throat. He walks over and Powers turns and goes to nail him before Gavin
holds his hands up. They then look at each other and then Starr who starts to
stir and then the two start to stomp away on Starr. The crowd boos as Starr
covers up.
Sharper: “And now Taylor and
Powers going to work. Stomping away on the SCW Hall of Famer!”
Knots: “He’s just going to
have to take it. Take his lumps until they stop. No DQs in a triple threat
match.”
Taylor and Powers both take a
few more liberties before Powers walks away. She then walks around the ring and
turns to Taylor. She rubs her hands together as Taylor grabs Starr. He pulls
him up and lightly slaps his cheeks before kicking him in the ribs. He whips
him across and right into Powers who hits the Most Valuable Kick. The crowd ohs and Starr hits the mat hard. He holds his jaw in pain
as Taylor moves to the corner. He then starts to stomp his foot, trying to get
his fans behind him. Few clap along, as they just boo
as Taylor keeps stamping. We then notice the A.S.S. clapping with Taylor. Starr
slowly gets up and steps forward only for Taylor to run at him and nail him
with the Gavin Taylor Lariat. Taylor rolls through and throws his arms up in the
air.
Sharper: “Taylor and Powers
getting their shots in.”
Knots: “Starr finding out what
they have behind everything. Good to know Taylor has some fans too.”
Sharper: “Yeah, really. But
they are in firm control and you wonder if their plan is to keep going until
they have to compete against each other.”
Knots: “You saw some of this
last night.”
Sharper: “Yeah, but unlike
Crystal Zdunich and Holly Adams, Gavin Taylor and Aubrianna Powers have actually worked together.”
Taylor then gets up and turns
as Starr rolls over. Powers looks at him and Taylor then grabs Starr. He pulls
him up and places his head between his legs. The crowd boos as Powers gets
ready. Taylor then lifts Starr up for a powerbomb before Powers jumps up and
hits a neckbreaker out of it. The crowd ohs. Taylor however holds on. He then pulls Starr back up
and then before reaching forward and hitting the Highlight of the Night. The
crowd ohs and boos. Taylor then moves back as Powers
turns and runs into the ropes, jumps to the middle rope and dives back with the
Simply the Best Moonsault. The crowd boos some more.
Sharper: “Starr has been
dissected by these two.”
Knots: “And just working
together. I mean they are the Mayhem Tag Team Champions!”
Sharper: “Oh stop it!”
Knots: “What?! They have the
belts and everything. That’s totally how this works.”
Sharper: “Yeah…from Taylor’s
collection and you pointed out.”
Taylor and Powers then turn to
one another.
Sharper: “But who’s going to
go for the pin here.”
Taylor and Powers then both
drop down and both lean back on Starr, hooking the leg. Demitra
looks at both and tells them they can’t do that. The
crowd looks on and cheers a bit. Powers looks up and snaps at the official.
Taylor does too.
Taylor: “But we both want it!”
Powers: “Yeah! Both should be
champions!”
Taylor: “Well we are champions-“
Demitra: “One person can cover him!”
Taylor and Powers then get up
and both walk around the ring in a bit of disappointment.
Knots: “You heard him!
Counting three twice is too much for Demitra!”
Sharper: “Demitra
making it clear. No double pin here. One of them has to win it.”
Powers turns back and before
she can talk, Taylor places his right wrist into his left one and gets ready
for Rock, Paper, Scissors. Powers looks at Starr and then Taylor before Taylor
starts. He lifts his hand once, twice, and then put paper, but Powers just
looks at him.
Sharper: “Folks, we’re seeing
rock, paper, scissors in a singles match to determine a pin.”
Knots: “Powers isn’t agreeing
though. That’s a key part!”
Taylor looks at Powers and
then goes again, once, twice, he goes to put out scissors, but Powers stops
him.
Powers: “Me! I should get it. You’ve held it. But this…this is the rightful moment for
Rise to Greatness.”
Taylor: “So no rock, paper,
scissors.”
Powers: “No.”
Powers then goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Starr shoots his shoulder up.
The crowd cheers. Powers looks down and Taylor does too. Starr then rolls over
and Taylor stomps him in the back and then again. Powers joins in and Starr
rolls to the floor. He lands on his feet and walks around. Taylor and Powers
then look at one another and Taylor drops down and goes to go after Starr.
Powers stays in the ring. Taylor runs over and clubs Starr in the back. He then
clubs him again. Starr falls to the ring apron and Taylor hoists him up and
drops him chest first on the ring apron. Starr staggers back. Powers smiles as
Taylor grabs Starr and rolls him into the ring.
Sharper: “Powers staying in
the ring. Gavin Taylor doing all the work.”
Knots: “The MVP apparently
stands for Most Valuable Patience. Waiting for her moment.”
Taylor rolls in and Starr
rolls over and gets up and Powers runs over and hits a swinging neckbreaker. Starr hits the mat. Powers goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Taylor gets up and steps
forward, but Starr gets his shoulder up. Powers turns and lets out a frustrated
noise as Taylor grabs Starr. He pulls him up as Powers turns and kicks him in
the ribs. Taylor then grabs Starr and hits a vertical suplex.
He turns and grabs him and pulls him up as Powers exits to the apron. She then
climbs up to the top rope. As she does, we see Starr start to stir and Taylor
tries to pull him in, but Starr then turns and pushes Taylor back and he hits
the ropes. Powers loses her balance and falls to the top turnbuckle. Taylor
steps forward and Starr hits a frankensteiner. Taylor
rolls over. Starr then sees Powers. The crowd roars. He gets up and rushes to
the corner. He climbs up as Powers starts to get up and Starr grabs her. He
then lifts her up and hits the Black Hole off the top rope!
Sharper: “Starr fighting back!
Found an opening. Starr hits the Black Hole on Aubrianna
Powers!”
Knots: “He just needs to cover
her!”
Sharper: “Taylor…he’s still
there. He’s up!”
Starr starts to get up and
turns, right into Taylor who hits the Dependable Roundhouse on Starr. Starr
hits the mat and Taylor then turns and looks at him and then Aubrianna. Taylor then turns and goes for the pin on
Powers, hooking the leg.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd roars and boos.
Taylor rolls off and then gets up. The bell sounds. He lets out a sigh of
relief as Demitra heads over and raises Taylor’s arm.
Phillips: “Here is your
winner, via pinfall, and the number one contender to
the SCW Adrenaline Championship, Gavin Taylor!”
Gavin celebrates a bit as the
crowd boos.
Sharper: “Gavin Taylor winning
here. Pinning Aubrianna Powers though.”
Knots: “Powers wanted to pin
Starr. She wanted revenge. But Taylor said, screw it, Starr did the work. I’ll
pin Aubrianna!”
Sharper: “And now he’s the
number one contender, to face Glory Braddock or Peyton Rice, for the Adrenaline
Title!”
Taylor turns and starts to
help Aubrianna up. Aubrianna
looks at him and then looks a bit upset. She rolls to the floor and Gavin just
sighs. Aubrianna starts to walk around the ring as
Starr starts to get up. Gavin looks at her as she heads away and just then,
Gavin turns around. He looks at Starr. Gavin looks around and Starr then runs
at him and kicks him in the ribs before hitting a DDT. Starr then turns and
goes to the corner. He looks around.
Sharper: “Aubrianna
not happy. Now maybe a repeat of Breakdown, just the roles are inverted!”
Knots: “The A.S.S. is trying
to talk to Aubrianna Powers!”
Sharper: “Shooting Five Star
on Gavin!”
We cut to see them out of the
cart as Aubrianna talks to them, holding her hand up
and walking off as back in the ring, we see Starr hit the Shooting Five Star
Frog Splash. The crowd erupts in cheers. Starr rolls over. He winces, holding
his ribs. The A.S.S. turn and both head to the ring as Starr rolls out of the
ring. “Sound of Madness” then starts to play as Starr walks around the ring. Aubrianna continues to head to the back.
Sharper: “Starr gets the last
laugh. A bit of a cheer from the fans! Gavin has the title shot though.”
Knots: “And that’s how we’re
kicking off in the ring, huh?”
Sharper: “That we are.
Jessica…what do you think?”
We cut back to the luxury box
where Jessica Winters sits with Simon Lyman and Hiro Tanaka.
Winters: “An interesting
moment, but the fans happy in the end. Starr may not be.”
Lyman: “He won’t be.”
Winters: “One person will be
disappointed too in our main event though. World Title on the line. David Helms
challenges Bree Lancaster.”
Tanaka: “Talk about a great
return. David Helms, he’s always been as honourable as
they come. I have to say, to someone better this all happening to, I can’t think of it. Winning Taking Hold of the Flame. Now
getting to challenge for the World Title to cap off his return. It’s great.”
Winters: “I sense a but…”
Tanaka: “Bree Lancaster is
riding high and sure, she’s arrogant. She’s quick to
judge. She can go in that ring. And she may finally be coming into her own.”
Lyman: “Finally had a moment
outside of Sienna Swann’s shadow.”
Tanaka: “True, but she always
had that. She finally got the opportunity. Syren
helped, but she’s then held onto that title. And she
loves the spotlight. It’s like a drug. You don’t want
to lose it.”
Lyman: “She’ll fight for it,
but David Helms is a fighter and along with everything else, the fracture of
his friendship with Tommy Valentine, something I never thought I’d see. He’s been through a lot too. Both have. But David Helms also
has shown an ability in the past to block it all out. Bree, she feeds off
controversy. The controversy is more on David’s side. Even with David pointing
out how Bree’s attitude has led her to take centre stage at points, like that
movie trailer premiere for Deep Cover…great movie by the way. There you go, Kennie, I got it in.”
Winters: “Do you see us
walking out with a new champion then? Is Bree ready for David? Is Helms ready
for Lancaster?”
The two think
about it.
Winters: “Will the Cinderella
story end for Helms?”
Lyman: “I hope not.”
Tanaka: “Same…but I don’t know
if he’ll have an answer for Bree.”
Lyman: “All I can say…I’d love
to see David Helms come back and get that last run with the World Title and for
it start tonight. I can say, regardless, that match should be a classic. Two of
the best are going at it for the World Title. That’s always a win.”
Winters: “Indeed it is. Folk,
Rise to Greatness starts in mere moments. But first, let’s
take a look at our main event. Enjoy the show. For Simon Lyman, Hiro Tanaka…I’m
Jessica Winters.”
The scene cuts to a panning
shot of the inside of the stadium before the Rise to Greatness logo comes up on
the screen.
We see
shots of Matt Hodges holding the SCW World Championship, before cutting to a
shot of Alistaire Allocco celebrating at the end of
last year’s Rise to Greatness, and then shots of Shilo
Valiant making his entrance with the World Title, before showing James Exeter
attempting the shooting star press only to be caught by Shawn Winters’s Graven
Image.
“For
over a decade and a half, Rise to Greatness has been the path to immortality.
Where superstardom and legend follow. Where history can be made.”
We see
shots of Syren storming to the back upset, before
cutting to show Jason Zero shaking his head, and then a shot of Ravyn Taylor getting up in the ring, seething.
“Or a
place for heartbreak…but also pure joy…”
Steve
Griffin celebrating with the World Title follows before cutting to a shot of
Shawn Winters and Syren both standing tall as World
Champions.
“The
main event of Rise to Greatness is, in that alone, special, and an achievement
for many, but one that rarely alone is enough. Winning is the only true
achievement.”
We then
see a shot of Bree Lancaster holding the SCW World Championship before the
scene shifts to Syren nailing James Evans in the knee
with the SCW World Championship. This is followed up with Bree Lancaster
hitting the Classifier on James Evans before covering him.
Sharper: “Bree Lancaster has
won…She is the new World Champion!”
“A champion that seemed groomed
for the moment, waiting for the perfect time, surrounded with her elite allies,
that have only strengthened their connection with recent betrayals.”
Shots of Bree Lancaster walking
with Sienna Swann, Xiomara Diaz and Chris Cannon
follow. We then see Sienna celebrating with Bree at Cold Blooded. This then
shifts to a shot of David Helms in the Taking Hold of the Flame. Cannon
and Sienna then both throw Helms to the ropes. Helms stumbles into the ropes
and up onto the top rope. Sienna steps forward to grab Helms, but Helms hooks
his legs under her arms and backflips back over the top rope. Sienna goes up
and over and spins through, landing on the floor. Helms ends up on the apron.
The crowd erupts in cheers.
Sharper:
“Swann’s out! Swann’s out!”
We cut
ahead. Helms springboards and dives forward with a flying forearm. The crowd
erupts in cheers. Helms rolls over. Chris rolls over, holding his face. He
starts to get up and staggers up to his feet. Helms grits his teeth and turns,
forcing himself up and runs at Chris as Chris falls to the ropes and Helms
nails him with a running clothesline. Cannon goes up and over the top rope to
the floor, both feet hitting. The crowd erupts in cheers as Helms falls back
into the middle of the ring.
Sharper:
“He did it! Helms has won it!”
Knots:
“We thought there was no way…but he did it! He found a way!”
Sharper:
“He returned from retirement of a Hall of Fame career. There were just two
things he hadn’t done. Win Taking Hold of the Flame
and main event Rise to Greatness. He’s just done the
first. He’s owed the second. And he earned it in his
home state nonetheless!”
David
Helms celebrates in the ring.
“A
challenger that has proven himself in the past, but
has embarked in a stunning return to the ring, checking off the remaining items
on his bucket list, whether out of intent or coincidence.”
David
Helms is shown then celebrating with Ace Marshall and Glory Braddock at Trios
Tournament.
“But
while their pedigrees in the ring are both laudatory and commendable, they are
as different of people as they come.”
Bree
Lancaster is shown hitting the Classifier on Matt Hodges. We see her on the
apron as the bell sounds.
“Bree
Lancaster is a champion. No one can dispute that fact. She fought long and hard
for the opportunity to become champion. She has shown a capability to
outwrestle any.”
We see
shots of Bree Lancaster locking in the Crescent Lock on Kelsai
Adamson-Mason, Amy Chastaine
and others, before cutting to shots of her hitting Owen Cruze,
David Helms, Aaron Blackbourne and Matt Hodges with
the Classifier.
“But she
has been afflicted by the same ills of her friends. A desire for perfection, an
entitled approach, and arrogance.”
We see a
shot of Bree Lancaster standing in the ring as a poster of her hangs from the
ceiling as she poses with the World Title in the ring.
“She is
a woman who notes her closeness to her family. She’s reconciled with Amy Chastaine, her once best friend and sister-in-law.”
Shots of
Bree Lancaster and Amy CHastaine talking backstage
are shown before showing her talking to Jaina
Lancaster.
“Her
niece, also employed by SCW, has been close to her aunt. It’s
been a repeated note by the champion as she heads to Rise to Greatness. Her
friends, Sienna Swann, Xiomara Diaz, and Chris Cannon, along with her manager
and desinger, Scott Burnside, remain by her side.”
Bree
Lancaster can be seen posing, smirking, with the World Title before showing her
standing in the ring, in her gear, with Sienna Swann and Chris Cannon as
Xiomara Diaz stand at ringside.
Bree: “I’m going to fight for
myself along with my friends and family. Regan can say how happy she is for
you, but you standing here?…there goes that dream of
husband and wife holding the tag titles. And well, Dom, he already has let me
know who he’s cheering for. You and him
don’t talk anyway so shows how you treat your blood? What about Tommy? You
burned that bridge if the reports are anything to go by and given how much
Tommy wanted to throw you over the top. That leaves Jason there. Right? Is he
right in the head? Headaches all gone? Glory can find
out later. Lucas….is there anyone you two haven’t
shared? Trinity, right?”
Bree
Lancaster standing across from David Helms on the first Breakdown after Taking
Hold of the Flame is shown with Bree in David’s face.
“But
what of the challenger?”
David
Helms then shown at his home, with his son Jason running in the backyard. The
scene switches to show David Helms eating dinner with Regan Street, his son Jason and his adopted daughter Jennifer Helms.
“David
Helms has, except for one brief moment, been the Last
Shadow of Hope, a pillar of morality in the sport of professional wrestling. He
lives a simple life insofar that he cares about a few things…most important,
taking care of his family.”
We see
shots of David Helms talking to Regan Street backstage before showing him with
AJ Helms in the past and Jennifer Helms backstage at another event.
“But
recently, his actions have left to that focus on friends and family coming in
doubt.”
Tommy:
“Hey! David! Jason! Looks like another of the family getting knocked out. Dave
– maybe you need to tell him he’s done too. Then
again, you don’t hate who he’s sleeping with?!”
A shot
of David Helms with Jason Helms backstage is shown, with Tommy Valentine
yelling at him.
“A
personal rivalry involving David’s wife Regan has thrown much asunder. Regan
Street, known for her fiery attitude, enraged Tommy Valentine for comments made
about his girlfriend. David Helms stood by his wife.”
We then
cut to A Day of Infamy. Venti grabs at his mask and slowly bends over and
starts to undo the strings before pulling the mask down. The crowd roars as
Katie starts to slowly look up from the corner. Venti then stands up, revealing
himself to be David Helms! The crowd roars with cheers as a loud “David!” chant
breaks out. Katie lets out a Goddess Scream.

that he kept his wife in the dark of his secret return. He won Trios
Tournament. He won Taking Hold of the Flame, throwing into chaos plans for
David to team with his wife to help her at her chance at history.”
Shots of
David Helms talking with Selena Frost and Regan Street backstage are shown.
“But he
has his own chance at history. For the first time, he won the Trios Tournament.
He won Taking Hold of the Flame. He now, for the first time in his legendary
career, main events Rise to Greatness.”
David
Helms and Bree Lancaster are shown standing in the ring, across from one
another.
David: “I have everything to
lose. I had everything to lose the moment I chose to get back into this ring. I
had the sign off from the wrestling business and since coming back, I’ve seen
all that I worked for get thrown into a blender for a whole bunch of reasons
and one thing I know for sure…I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
“And the
path for the two…has been bumpy.”
We see a
shot of Bree Lancaster nailing David Helms in the head with the SCW World
Championship. David turns right into the Knee Deep. This is followed by Tommy
Valentine covering David Helms.
Sharper: “Bree with the title
and right into Knee Deep. Damn it! Come on no!”
Knots: “Bree turning the tables
in this. David gave Tommy what he wanted…straight up a fight!”
“Family
has been at the heart of their conflict…”
Dominic
Teller, David’s brother, stands in the ring with Bree Lancaster as part of the
publicity tour of the movie Deep Cover. David Helms is in the ring as Bree and
her are getting heated. Kennedy Street stands to the side, as part of the
publicity.
David:
“Dom…Kennedy…have the microphone. Do the plugs. This should be your showcase.
Not a self-righteous champion!”
David
hands the microphone to Dom and Bree just glares at him. David then turns his
back when Bree walks over. Kennedy warns David as Bree hoists her World Title
up, looking as if she’s about to attack David, but
instead grabs his arm. David just swats her off and hits the Wake
Up Call. Bree drops to the mat, holding her head. The crowd erupts in
cheers. David turns and looks at her. Dom looks at David and then goes to Bree.
David just looks down and shakes his head.
Sharper:
“Wake Up Call to David!”
Knots:
“And Bree is down!”
Sharper:
“Kennedy warned David. I think she thought she was going to strike David, but
instead, when she went to confront him, David caught her!”
Knots:
“Any surprise why?! Bree Lancaster has attacked him from behind before!”
Dom
checks on Bree as David turns and looks at Dom.
Dom:
“What the hell?!”
“Accident
or intentional? The experience of David Helms suggests the former, but the
champion begs to differ. As Bree Lancaster has tried to get into the head of
one of the greatest, the Last Shadow of Hope hopes for one more success.”
We cut
back to show Bree Lancaster and David Helms face to face.
Bree…I am going to make history
myself by returning to the biggest stage in wrestling and walking out the World
Champion! And the only one who will be disappointed that night will be you! So bring your best, Bree. You’re
facing a Hall of Famer. You’re facing the Last Shadow
of Hope. And you’re facing the next World Champion!
BANG!”
Bree takes off her World
Championship and holds it up between the two.
Bree: “You know that you can’t
beat me. And I’ve been saying it for weeks,
David…you’ve been failing everyone else. I think we know why…you were just
getting ready to fail yourself.”
The crowd boos.
Bree: “This is Rise to Greatness.
The World Title on the line…MY World Title. And David, you’re
not beating me. And instead, all of this hype for this
moment, it’s going to be all for not because as I have so many times, I will
stand over you again celebrating as I hold this title!”
The video ends with Bree holding
the title in front of David before a shot of Bree hitting the Classifier on
David flashes on the screen, before cutting to a shot of David Helms hitting a
much more intentional Wake-Up Call on Bree from the same six person tag match.
The scene fades to black…
