“Supreme Championship Wrestling presents Taking Hold of the Flame 2022!”

The logo remains on the screen for a moment longer before we cut to the inside of the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The crowd cheers as pyro shoots out from the stage and into the air. Spotlights circle the arena as the cameras pan the crowd as fans wave signs and make noise.

Sharper: “The Road to Rise to Greatness is here! Taking Hold of the Flame is here!”

The cameras continue to pan the crowd before we cut to the ringside area where Adam Sharper, Simon Lyman and Jonathan Knots are standing next to the ring with microphones in their hands.

Sharper: “Welcome here to ringside. We are live in Cleveland, Ohio. I’m Adam Sharper, here with Simon Lyman and Jonathan Knots and tonight, forty men and women will enter the ring and compete to find out who will be the challenger for the SCW World Championship at Rise to Greatness!”

Knots: “Forty people. You gotta outlast them all. You know that field is going to be jampacked. People hoping to determine their fate tonight. Some have tried multiple times. Some hoping this is their year. Only one can say that!”

Sharper: “Not only that, but Selena Frost defends the World Title against Giovanni ‘GiGi’ Aries.”

Lyman: “Selena Frost is as locked in as we’ve seen her. She wants nothing more than to dispatch Aries. To her, Aries represents the worst in this sport. Aries meanwhiles sees tonight as his crowning night. He holds wins over Selena. He is a major threat and someone is going to have to come to terms that their quest tonight will fail!”

Sharper: “Not only that, the Adrenaline Title will also be on the line. Deanna Frost will hope she can get that match against Jenni Anderson. And oh boy. We’re going to get started!”

Autumn Valentine vs. Cid Turner

SCW Adrenaline Championship

A woman’s voice can be heard as the video screens display the words she's saying in unison.

"Lexy Chapel Proudly Presents"

"AUTUMN VALENTINE"

“Miss Nothing” by The Pretty Reckless hits the PA system as Autumn Valentine walks out onto the stage wearing a black jacket. Across her ring-gear we see the ‘Lexy Chapel Presents’ and ‘Chapel Show’ branding. She pauses on the stage for a moment before being joined by Lexy Chapel who starts pointing at her, and yelling at the fans to cheer for her. Around Lexy’s neck we see a lanyard which appears to be a manager’s license.

Phillips: “The opening contest is scheduled for onefall with a thirty minute time limit and is for the SCW Adrenaline Championship! First, the challenger, hailing from Los Angeles, California, accompanied, and PROUDLY represented, by Lexy Chapel, this is Autumn Valentine!”

Autumn walks to the ring accompanied by Lexy. She skips up to the apron and jumps up before sliding off her jacket and letting it fall to the floor. She then runs at the turnbuckles, climbing up and throwing up her arms before looking to the camera confidently. She jumps from the outside of the ropes to inside of the ring, rolling back to her feet before walking the middle of the ring and dropping down into the splits. Lexy walks behind her, pointing down at her and still trying to get the fans to support her. Lexy holds a hand down to pull Autumn back to her feet as Autumn walks to the corner as the music fades out.

Sharper: “Autumn Valentine hoping tonight she can finally earn SCW Gold for the first time since losing the Television Championship. She’s got the skill. But she’s hoping that this time, unlike a month ago, she won’t need to worry about any unwelcome involvement.”

Knots: “We will see because Cid Turner is hoping to keep going with his time holding gold. But Datura has been watching this whole situation and has added a wrinkle.”

Lyman: “Datura should stay away. Autumn threatened her outright. This is as serious as we’ve seen Autumn in months.”

The lights slowly dim down. The crowd buzzes in anticipation, many of them taking their phones out and lighting up the arena with their flashlights. After a few moments of silence, “Dark Child” by Marlon Williams plays as the lights flash back on. The big screen shows several highlights of Cid Turner's career as the song continues to play. The crowd boos as Cid makes his way onto the stage, looking tensely out into the crowd with the SCW Adrenaline Championship around his waist. Cookie Dreams comes skipping out behind him, receiving a mixed reaction from the crowd as she gives Cid an exaggerated thumbs up while he continues looking out into the crowd. Cid takes a moment to let it all soak in before he begins his walk down the ramp with Cookie trailing not far behind, happily waving to nearby fans.

Phillips: “Her opponent, accompanied by Cookie Dreams, from Denver, Colorado, representing the Positive State, he is the SCW Adrenaline Champion, the Fallen King, Cid Turner!”

“My little blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy

One day you'll grow up and be distressed

One day you'll grow up and reject everything

I've set out for you”

Cid continues his walk down the ramp and keeps his eye on the ring while continually muttering to himself. Cid reaches the ring as Cookie stays on the outside, making her way around the corner. Cid climbs up the steps, slowly walking across the apron to the corner and pulling himself up onto the second rope, standing on the turnbuckle and looking around the arena while taking a deep breath. He takes the Adrenaline Championship from off his waist and holds it into the air.

“My only dear long wasteful son

One day you'll wonder what you've become”

The music begins to fade out as Cid climbs down from the ropes and enters the ring. He leans through the ropes and hands the Adrenaline Championship to the official. Cid leans up against the corner and strokes his overgrown beard. Cookie looks on from the floor. The official, Steve Hollinsworth, holds the title over his head. The SCW Adrenaline Championship logo comes up on the screen.

Sharper: “And there is your Adrenaline Champion. His return has been nothing short of amazing for the last two years. But now he’s looking to expand his brand, the Positive State. And could Datura be a difference maker.”

Knots: “Let’s just remember – Autumn had Cid Turner pinned on Breakdown. Had Datura seen it, Autumn would have some big bragging rights and maybe be more in the head of the champion!”

Hollinsworth hands off the title as Autumn looks at Cid. Lexy glares at Cookie, pointing at her and running her thumb and finger across her throat.

Knots: “Jesus!”

Sharper: “Guess Lexy Chapel is in the zone too.”

Cookie just smiles and waves at Lexy as the bell sounds. Autumn and Cid step out and watch one another, circling briefly before Cid moves into a grapple, but Autumn drops down and around and then grabs the arm of Cid and wrenches it. Cid winces and Autumn pulls up on the arm. Cid then rolls forward and then turns and flips forward before wrenching Autumn’s arm. Autumn flips forward and then pushes Cid back with her feet. Cid falls back. He gets up and turns and Autumn gets up and forearms him in the jaw and locks in a side headlock. Cid reaches around and pulls Autumn back to the ropes and fires her off. Autumn bounces off. Cid steps up and scoops her up, but Autumn spins through and around him. Cid then steps forward and goes for a back elbow. Autumn ducks and then backflips into a headscissors. She flips forward, sending Cid forward and Cid falls to the mat, rolling under the ropes to the floor. The crowd cheers.

Sharper: “And Autumn Valentine, we said she was in the zone. A nice headscissors and the champion down.”

Lyman: “Cid quickly needing to rethink this start.”

Cid looks around as Autumn then watches. Hollinsworth looks on as Cid then turns and pulls himself onto the apron. Autumn waits for him to get into the ring and Cid slowly gets in and then rushes Autumn. He hits a single leg takedown. He holds up her leg and Autumn pushes him off with her free leg. Both get up and Cid steps up and goes for a hard right. Autumn blocks it and kicks him in the ribs. She grabs his arm and wrenches it. She kicks him in the chest. Cid falls to a knee. Autumn then lets go and runs into the ropes, bouncing off and going for the Blindspot. The crowd ohs as Cid moves out of the way. Autumn slides through. She gets up and turns and Cid hits a hip toss. Autumn gets up and Cid kicks her in the ribs and then hits a side headlock takedown. Autumn tries to go for a headscissors, but Cide moves forward and holds on, starting to pull Autumn up.

Sharper: “Autumn looking for the fast victory. Tried to hit the Blindspot.”

Lyman: “Cid just paying attention.”

Knots: “And just slowing things down. This may be a low adrenaline match, if you get me?”

Cid drags Autumn up as she grabs around, trying to find any leverage, but Cid then hits a hip throw, taking her down. She hits the mat and rolls over. She gets up and Cid forearms her in the jaw and then again. Autumn falls to the corner. Cid then pushes her back, leaning in, driving his forearm into her face. The crowd boos.

Knots: “See! Clever hurts. Just go with tried and true. You’re bigger than her. You use that!”

Sharper: “And Autumn in pain. Lexy in concern. She’s trying to check her as Cid is down on the floor. Remember, no countouts in Adrenaline Title action.”

Backstage, we see Holly Adams walking into the office of Shaun Cruze. In the room, Shaun Cruze is with Hiro Tanaka. Tanaka is manning the tumbler with all of the numbers. He spins the tumbler as Holly looks at it and shakes her head.

Holly: “Okay, let’s get this over with. We already have Samuel Davis who is going to go the distance. That’s how confident GiGi is and well, we’ll have the World Title. But just in case Selena find some way to cheat her way through…”

Cruze: “Just go ahead Holly.”

Holly: “Okay, okay.”

Holly turns behind her as we see her motion and a cameraperson leans in. Holly smiles.

Holly: “We’re just drawing my number here. SCW likes to go through these things and well, they of course asked me because while so many people are willing to judge me for things I have no control over, they know that without me, their company would go down in flames. Remember, they named an event after me. And even this event…it’s named after me and what I’ve overcome!“

Cruze: “No it’s not Holly. And you’re not normally doing a documentary style with your crew. Don’t they do the confessionals.”

Holly: “It’s B-Roll, Cruze. You probably don’t understand.”

Cruze: “Actually, I’ve been in movie-“

Holly: “That your wife films doesn’t count. Now…”

Holly now turns and stops the tumbler. She reaches inside and grabs two balls.

Cruze: “Actually, I-“

Holly: “I’ll deliver it to her. Come on. I have my client’s best interests in mind.”

Holly then cracks them open and looks inside. She looks at one number and frowns. Shaun peers over and Holly hides it. Holly then checks the other one. She looks at it and smiles.

Holly: “Well…everyone better be ready as I save another show!”

Holly turns and heads off. Shaun Cruze shakes his head.

Jenni Anderson vs. Deanna Frost

The chords of "People Like Us" by Kelly Clarkson fill the arena, causing a roar from the audience as bright, fall leaves seem to blow and fly on the LED screens on and around the ramp. From the back curtain, out runs "The Queen's Guard" Deanna Frost, taking in the audience before running to the right side, then the left side, shouting to them in excitement. The 'leaves' follow her as she does. Returning to the middle, Deanna gives a spin on one foot, her arms outstretched, the 'leaves' circling her below her feet.

Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall and has a twenty minute time limit. First, from Manhattan, New York, she is 'The Queen's Guard', Deanna Frost!”

Hearing her name, Deanna stops her spin, side facing the ring, and, with one hand over her heart, her free hand arcs around to point forward, the 'leaves' flying down the ramp and 'circling the ring LED barriers. Making her way down to the ring, Deanna high-fives fans along the way until she reaches the ring. Sliding under the ring, the Queen's Guard jumps to her feet, making her way to the middle ropes and leaning over them, one arm raised to the crowd. She does the same to the other sides of the ring! On the last time, Deanna hops back into the ring as the lights return to normal.

Sharper: “Deanna Frost has wanted a rematch against Jenni Anderson, the new TV Champion. Shaun Cruze, the commissioner, making it clear to Anderson that she is booked tonight. No matter what she thinks.”

Lyman: “She said she wouldn’t get in the ring with Deanna unless Deanna got her a World Title shot. Using her desire for revenge. She’s not the one calling the shots!”

“MONEY

MONEY

MONEY MAKE HER SMILE…”

The chorus line to Bruno Mars’ “Money Make Her Smile” plays out over the crowd before the introductory organ plays out, leading into the full song. Jenni Anderson steps out from the back, confidently striding as she stands before the booing crowd, clad in her ring gear and a long fur coat. She lowers a pair of obscenely expensive sunglasses. The SCW Television Championship sits over her shoulder. A microphone is in her hand.

Sharper: “Jenni Anderson out here, but microphone in her hand.”

Knots: “She doesn’t want this match! And I, for one, am willing to side with her for a small bribe! You listening Jenni?!”

Deanna looks in the ring as Jenni Anderson’s music fades out. Deanna steps forward. Jenni just looks at the ring.

Anderson: “Deanna, Deanna…I know you probably got very excited when you saw the card and saw my name across from it. But I thought I made myself clear!”

The crowd boos as Deanna scoffs.

Anderson: “And as the SCW Television Champion, I have a certain integrity to keep up, right? Isn’t that what Selena would say? I assume you believe it too. I mean, as a champion, should not my word be my bond!”

The crowd boos as Deanna rolls her eyes.

Anderson: “And I don’t have a World Title match against Selena. So, Jenni, despite Shaun Cruze booking this match, I refuse to lie openly to these good fans. As a person, as a wrestler…as a champion…”

Anderson smirks.

Anderson: “But don’t worry…I have a suitable replacement.”

Anderson turns as we see Mallory Groening, the woman who interfered in the initial match between Deanna and Jenni walk out from the back. The crowd boos as Jenni smiles as Groening runs down to the ring. Michael Constantine stands in the ring as Deanna backs up and Mallory rolls into the ring.

Sharper: “That’s Mallory Groening. She was the one who Anderson paid off to attack Deanna to give her the edge.”

Knots: “She’s getting more money! Jenni’s putting her through college! She’s a philanthropist!”

Sharper: “Give me a break.”

Knots: “What? This is a global audience! She may even get some of the buyrate payoff!”

Mallory gets up as Deanna steps back and looks at the stage. Jenni Anderson smiles as she looks down at the ring. The bell sounds and Jenni, pleased, turns around. In the ring, Mallory runs at Deanna and tries to tackle her down. Deanna however stuffs her and hooks her head. She rolls through. Mallory fights and manages to get her head free. She rolls away as Deanna does. We then cut to the stage where Jenni Anderson is now being confronted by Shaun Cruze. Shaun Cruze walks forward, pointing at the ring, as the crowd roars.

Sharper: “Mallory and Deanna going at it. Constantine started the match!”

Lyman: “And Shaun Cruze isn’t about to let this go without any intervention. He’s telling Jenni to get to the ring!”

Jenni keeps backing up as in the ring, Mallory attempts a couple of hard rights, but Deanna blocks them. She then knees Mallory in the ribs. Deanna then runs at her and goes for a clothesline, but Mallory ducks. Deanna stops herself and then quickly locks in the Consortium! The crowd erupts in cheers.

Sharper: “Deanna immediately locking in the Consortium! The move she was going to beat Jenni Anderson with!”

Lyman: “Mallory Groening tried to just use aggression, but Deanna is incensed!”

Deanna pulls back as Jenni continues to back away to the ring. She pleads with Shaun Cruze as back in the ring, Deanna keeps pulling back. Mallory starts to tap out as the crowd cheers. The bell sounds. The crowd cheers as Mallory keeps struggling and Deanna holds on for a few moments longer and then pushes her off. Mallory rolls over to the ropes, coughing. Constantine heads over to check on her as Deanna gets up and glance sat Constantine before turning to the rampway.

Phillips: “Here is your winner, via submission, Deanna Frost!”

The crowd cheers as Deanna walks over and steps through the ropes.

Sharper: “Mallory Groening quickly dispatched by Deanna Frost who is on a mission!”

Lyman: “And Jenni Anderson is still trying to get out of this!”

Sharper: “Here comes Deanna!”

Knots: “Hey! Get her away! Security!”

Jenni Anderson then pulls out a wad of cash from her coat as Shaun Cruze looks at her.

Cruze: “This really what you’re going to try? To now try and bribe me?”

Anderson: “I’m sure you’d love to give some money for your kid’s college fund and-“

Cruze: “Get in the ring!”

Jenni shakes her head.

Anderson: “A terrible businessman and-“

Deanna then grabs Anderson and spins her around. The crowd roars as Deanna kicks her in the ribs and runs her over to the ring and throws her back into the apron. The crowd ohs. Jenni steps up and Deanna grabs her fur coat and pulls it over her head. The crowd roars as Deanna essentially jerseys her and nails her with a couple of blows to the chest and face before Jenni pulls out and falls over. The SCW Television Championship falls to the mat. Deanna then grabs Jenni Anderson and pulls her up and rolls her into the ring. The crowd roars.

Sharper: “Deanna has Jenni in the ring again!”

Lyman: “Deanna figuring out her own plan-“

Knots: “Well if someone will get me the money from Jenni’s coat, I can help her!”

Sharper: “How do you plan to do that?”

Knots: “I’ll figure it out later!”

Jenni starts to get up and Deanna steps up and kicks her in the ribs and then again and again before hitting a savate kick to the side of the head. Jenni hits the mat and Constantine gets up and walks over and pushes Deanna back. The crowd boos as Deanna tries to get past before turning to Constantine. Cruze hops onto the apron. Constantine waves it off.

Deanna: “She’s my opponent, not her!”

Constantine: “I’m not going to start this. Not going to let this continue!”

Deanna: “She’s in the ring! Let her get up!”

Constantine turns and Deanna looks at Jenni as Jenni starts to slowly get up to her feet. She holds her arm as Deanna rolls her eyes. She steps forward and Constantine stops her again. We then see Jenni step up and nails Deanna over Constantine’s shoulder. Deanna stumbles back as Jenni steps up and kicks her in the ribs. Constantine stumbles forward and then stops and holds his head as Jenni gets a couple of shots in. Deanna falls to the corner. Jenni then steps in and chokes her a bit as Shaun gets in and tells her to get back. Constantine now finally gets involved, recovering and steps in. Deanna turns and winces as Jenni steps back and throws her arms up in the air. The crowd boos.

Sharper: “This is just another moment. Jenni Anderson will only take the shots that she knows she can take 100%.”

Knots: “Makes her a good businessperson!”

Sharper: “Well she won’t get in the ring and give Deanna her match. And we’re now trying to get this to a spot where it’s even.”

Deanna remains in the corner as Jenni is kept back by Constantine. Cruze then walks to Deanna. Deanna nods as Cruze turns back to Constantine and Anderson, but before Anderson can respond, we see Mallory Groening on the apron and clubbing Deanna over and over and over in the back of the head. Mallory then grabs her and tries to pull her out of the ring. Deanna holds on and Mallory gets her forward a bit, but Deanna turns and nails her in the ribs over and over and over before reaching up and pulling her face first into the ringpost. Mallory drops to the floor. Deanna backs up and Jenni runs over and clubs her in the back. She grabs her as Constantine backs up at this point. Cruze tries to get between them, but Jenni sends Deanna into the ropes. Deanna bounces off and she goes for the Queenpin’s Kiss, but Deanna ducks and bounces off the other side. Cruze moves back as she sees Deanna lunge and drill Jenni with the Burnout. Jenni hits the mat. Constantine immediately at this point gets between Deanna and Jenni. He pushes her back. The crowd cheers as Cruze turns and checks on Jenni briefly before moving to Deanna. A couple of other officials now come down to the ring.

Sharper: “Burnout! Jenni Anderson down!”

Knots: “What a cheap shot!”

Lyman: “Cheap shot! She was willing to let this get sorted. Jenni kept it going and now she’s out! The Burnout may have knocked her out!”

Sharper: “This time, Deanna standing tall, but not with the match she wanted again. She may have the visual win, standing tall. But she didn’t come here to beat Mallory Groening!”

Knots: “Why not?!”

Cruze looks over at Jenni as Jenni remains down. Officials check on her as Deanna looks on from the corner and shakes her head. Constantine keeps her back as Cruze turns and talks to her. Deanna says something to him and Cruze responds to her before we cut away.

The scene opens up with a shot of a casino. The camera goes down one of the main entrance ways, seeing people filing in and out. The camera turns before we see a ten minute chapel, boarded up. The camera moves forward to get a shot of the information about the establishment, showing Derek Adonis before his conversion. The camera pans off and turns, leading into the main casino, before moving into the slot machines. The camera slowly moves past one row and then another before moving to the third row where we see Katie Steward seated at one of the slot machines. She looks around before putting a coin in. She pulls the level. The camera moves over to film the result, showing first a Rise to Greatness XIX logo, and then another one, before a third one. Bells go off as coins start to come out of the machine.

“Rise to Greatness XIX, July 31, 2022, Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada”

The symbol remains on the screen for a few moments before we cut back to the slot machines, seeing Owen Lee, Ace Marshall, Cid Turner, and Autumn Valentine, all starting to gamble too as the scene fades to black.

Backstage, we open up in one of the locker rooms as we see Lexy Chapel looking through someone’s bag. She throws it down and stops before glancing behind her.

Chapel: “Keep watching, Lionel! Remember, you said this was legal!”

Chapel starts to go through another bag as Jessica Winters walks into the locker room. Chapel rifles through it and then throws it down and turns.

Chapel: “AHHHHH!”

Chapel shrieks as she sees Jessica before clutching her chest.

Chapel: “Lionel! You’re supposed to be watching out-“

Winters: “Lexy, what are you doing? Autumn Valentine just lost her match thanks to Datura’s involvement. You’re now here going through people’s bags?”

Chapel: “First off, I’m a great manager. So I resent you making it sound I don’t care. I just know Autumn needs space. We’re married, duh. We know each other. And she needs space. Plus, she gets moody. And stuff. So uh…yeah…”

Winters: “And the bags?”

Chapel: “Oh…uh…I’m….uh….these are mine…”

Chapel winces.

Winters: “They’re not. This isn’t even your locker room.”

Chapel: “I’m looking for Ace?”

Winters: “Wait, Ace is missing?”

Chapel: “He is NOT! I swear it! STOP spreading lies or I’ll sick Lawyer Dog on you. Dancing Bear was helping me…uh…look for him but he’s stopped after pouting about love or something. Anyway, it’s not important. I have to go.”

Winters: “You’re still looking for your phone.”

Chapel looks around. She then leans into Winters.

Chapel: “Do you know who has it?”

Winters: “No, but you know you can just replace them.”

Chapel: “Oh yeah…totally. Totally will replace it. Not like there’s anything personal or secret or PROFESSIONAL on there. At all. In fact, I’m going to go get a new phone now!”

Winters: “But wait! The battle royal!”

But Lexy Chapel scoops up Lawyer Dog Lionel Barkz and heads off as Jessica Winters looks confused.

The scene opens up to see Deanna Frost talking to Shaun Cruze in the hallway.

Deanna: “Look, I want to quickly give Selena a good luck kiss, but I’m not going to let this go. This…twice now. First time, she paid her to attack me. Now tonight, to take her place. I’m just-“

Cruze: “And I understand. In this case, Michael Constantine made the call that this match couldn’t start. Too much going on and no way it would be fair. Jenni’s now being checked out backstage.”

Deanna: “There’s just something off here again.”

Cruze: “Look, I’m going to trust my officials in the absence of a reason to doubt them. You know that. Selena too.”

Deanna: “Of course.”

Cruze: “But I’m going to make one decision tonight. Next Breakdown, you’re facing Jenni again. But this time, TV Title on the line. And if she doesn’t show up, she forfeits the title. She has someone come in and interfere, same thing. She will face you this time. And if not, well, Deanna, maybe you can do for the TV Title what Selena is trying to do for the World Title.”

Deanna nods. Shaun heads off as Deanna turns and walks away.

The Taking Hold of the Flame logo comes up on the screen as a still showing Giovanni Aries vs. Selena Frost follows.

Sharper: “Deanna Frost knows what awaits her as she will get her match against Jenni Anderson on Breakdown. Finally getting what she may want here. But will Selena Frost hold on to her title against arguably the strongest challenge she’s faced thus far and that’s not shot at her previous challengers.”

Lyman: “Not at all and it comes because of one reason. Giovanni Aries has shown he can beat Selena Frost. Yes, there may have been some goofiness, but Giovanni Aries is as dangerous as they come.”

Sharper: “Winner becomes World Champion. Winner goes to Rise to Greatness to defend the title in the main event. High stakes. Let’s take a look at their history.”

A recap video plays showing the history between Giovanni “GiGi” Aries and Selena Frost.

Giovanni ‘GiGi’ Aries vs. Selena Frost

SCW World Championship

We hear the sound of a door open that rings out over the arena as we then hear the words

|| WELCOME ||
|| TO ||
|| THE ||
|| HAÜS OF NIRVANA ||

‘Instant Karma’ by John Lennon begins to play as the arena goes dark except for a spotlight as from beneath the stage rises GiGi Aries sitting cross legged dressed in all white tunic and pants combo. GiGi sits with his eyes closed for a few moments before they spring open as he has an eerie smile upon his face. GiGi Aries jumps to his feet as starts toward the ring with hands interlocked at his waist.

Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall, has a sixty minute time limit and is for the SCW World Championship. First, the challenger, hailing from Black Rick Desert, Nevada, accompanied by the Haüs of Nirvana, he is the Spiritual Advisor of The Holly Adams Brand Trademarked! Giovanni “GiGi” Aries!”

GiGi Aries makes it to the apron as he swiftly jumps on the apron and faces the crowd. He extends his arms outward. GiGi then yells…

“FIND REFUGE IN THE HAÜS OF NIRVANA”

He then looks at the camera and says “For only a number of easy payments” before he cackles out before flipping into the ring as he takes a seat on the top turnbuckle and begins to meditate before the match.

Sharper: “Giovanni…sorry, GiGi Aries looking to hold the title he’s tried a few times to win, but this time it feels different.”

Knots: “He also holds a few wins over Selena. And with Rise to Greatness on the horizon, that’s the perfect way to sell the Haus of Nirvana.”

Sharper: “And the Brand too.”

BELIEVE IT!

The SCW Universe are on their feet as “Kings and Queens” by Ava Max as plays throughout the arena, snow “falling” along the electronic floor and screens as, out from the back walks the Snow Queen, Selena Frost, holding the SCW World Championship, taking in the crowd of the SCW Universe.

Slowly, Selena shifts her head, her sapphire eyes locked towards the ring as she lifts her front hand gracefully, extending it towards the ring, palm upward, her back arm lifted behind her to the sky. With a lift of her right foot, she suddenly slams it down into the ground, causing a crack like ice to form and sprint down the ramp and towards the ring!

Phillips: “His opponent, from Nome, Alaska, she is the SCW World Champion, the Snow Queen, Selena Frost!”

Lowering her arms, the Winter’s Knight walks down the ramp, her steps leaving footprints in the “snow” under her feet. Reaching the ring, Selena goes up the steps and under the ropes to enter it. Once inside and in the center of the ring, she lifts her hand up to give a twirl as the lights form to make a massive snowflake under her. Stopping her spin and lowering her hand back down, towards the audience, once again palm upright, a smirk graces her lips, her other arm lifting to the sky once more. With a slam of her foot, Selena caused the snowflake at her feet to “crack” as the rampway did, the shards of ice streaking out to all four corners of the ring to shoot out blue sparkles of light as the lights return to normal. Selena steps forward, handing Aaron Demitra the SCW World Championship. Demitra steps back and holds the title over his head as the SCW World Championship logo comes across the screen.

Sharper: “Selena Frost has taken on all comers. Her reign has had its ups and downs and many of the downs have come from the Brand. She wants to be done with them tonight, no matter what.”

Lyman: “Samuel Davis, Holly Adams, Whatever Clamidiya is going by are in the battle royal, but Selena is hoping for the exclamation point here. And she wants to enter Rise to Greatness as World Champion and with integrity.”

Sharper: “And Giovanni GiGi Aries wants to destroy all of that!”

Demitra hands off the title and steps back to the middle of the ring. Selena glances around her as GiGi smiles. He bell sounds. Aries steps out, extending his arms. Selena steps up and looks around.

Selena: “Where are they?”

Aries: “They have their own fights. I have mine!”

Aries smiles as Selena continues to look around before lunging and forearming Aries in the jaw. Aries fires back with one of his own and Selena forearms him a second time. Aries nails her in the ribs and then grabs her arm and wrenches it. He leans over as Selena flips forward and then bridges up before ducking under and wrenching the arm of Aries. Aries winces and reaches around before ducking down and under and into a side headlock. He then spins out quickly and into a drop toe hold. He moves towards a side headlock, but Selena slides her head out. Both get up and Selena grabs Aries’s arm and wrenches it before lifting up and flipping over Arie’s back and grabbing his other arm, arm dragging him over. Aries rolls through to his feet and then looks up.

Sharper: “And back and forth. Both trying to outwrestle each other. A bit of a surprising start.”

Knots: “Selena figured Aries would have his minions out here. He’s coming at her and even trying to outwrestle her! He’s got surprises up his sleeve!”

Selena then tells Aries to come at her. Aries smirks and nods before lunging and dropping down to go for her legs. Selena drops down into a sprawl and then spins around and takes Aries’ back. She then pushes down on his head and flips him over into a pin.

Lyman: “Aries is as confident as ever. We’ve seen that. This isn’t like past matchups between these two.”

She then stops and turns and goes for a shoot kick, but Aries catches her leg and then hits a dragon screw leg whip. The crowd ohs.

Sharper: “Aries with the dragon screw and that’s going to tweak the leg.”

Lyman: “It’s her kicking leg so that’s a positive in one sense. It’s not her plant leg, but you don’t want any target.”

Knots: “Just making her knee welcome nirvana later!”

Selena gets up, wincing a bit and Aries hits a back chop. He then elbows her in the top of the head before then placing his foot on her waist and grabbing Selena and rolling back, taking Selena over. Lyman: “That can give him clarity too.”

Knots: “Hey! They’re registered! It’s legit!”

GiGi gets up and Selena hits a dropkick, knocking him back into the corner. Selena then gets up and hits a jumping back kick to the jaw. Aries’s head snaps back and he drops to a seated position. Selena walks around the ring and then turns and runs at Aries. Aries pulls himself out of the way as Selena goes for a running dropkick, but misses. She winces and gets up, and Aries scoops her up for a back suplex only to drop her on the top rope. Selena winces as Aries then chops her again with a double chop. The crowd woos and Aries then runs to the ropes, jumping to the middle rope and then diving off with a dropkick, knocking Selena forward and causing her to drop to the apron and then the floor. (1)

Sharper: “And Aries using the ropes in multiple ways to just make Selena’s life difficult.”

Knots: “Using everything. Selena landed on the apron and then the floor. Not exactly a good landing.”

Knots: “Selena’s body moved in ways it wasn’t supposed to.”

Sharper: “And now a nerve hold. Aries digging into the history books here. But this hurts like hell.”

Knots: “Yeah. It’s intended to just hurt.”

Sharper: “The Haus of Nirvana turning into the Haus of Pain here.”

Selena grimaces as Aries keeps the hold on. Selena reaches out as a “We Believe!” chant begins, but some try to counter it with “Nirvana!” Selena turns and starts to fight through the pain, getting up to her feet and Aries then just wraps his arm around Selena’s and forces her down with an inverted bulldog. Sharper: “She wondered if Aries would be alone to start. True or not, Aries has just used that and if he gets Selena back in the ring…we may have a new champion!”

Lyman: “He’s not got it fully locked in!”

Sharper: “Selena Frost fighting. He knows he pulls back and gets the leg scissors, it’s over!”

Aries tries to hook his arms, but Selena struggles and leans forward, using her weight to cause Aries to go with her and Selena falls into the corner, causing Aries to go face first into the top turnbuckle. Phillips: “Here is your winner, via pinfall, and still SCW World Champion, Selena Frost!”

Sharper: “An amazing contest. Both giving it their all.”

Lyman: “GiGi Aries coming out and he wanted that title. And he nearly had it. Selena had one play. She got it. And the Glass Shard, second attempt, fully connected.”

Sharper: “A hard-hitting affair. Both left a lot in that ring. But Selena Frost still comes out on top.”

Knots: “Damn it! At least I’m with my Haus members here in Cleveland!”

Selena slowly gets up and Demitra hands her the World Championship. Selena looks back at Giovanni Aries and falls to the ropes. She holds up the SCW World Championship and then brings it down to look at it again. She throws it over her shoulder as the crowd cheers her.

Sharper: “Selena Frost is at the top of her game. She has just gotten stronger and stronger as the year has gone on.”

Knots: “Yeah, yeah, yeah…”

Giovanni Aries slowly stirs to the ropes as Selena steps forward and holds the title over her head. The cameras focus on her and her celebration. We then cut to a Taking Hold of the Flame logo and a shot of the known entrants in the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal.

Sharper: “We know who is the World Champion? But who will they face at Rise to Greatness XIX?”

Knots: “Forty people want that shot. One can get it.”

Sharper: “And it’s a storied history for this match!”

A recap video goes over the history of the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal.

2022 Taking Hold of the Flame Battle Royal

The scene opens up in the middle of the ring, where Jason Phillips stands.

Phillips: “Fans, it is now time for the SCW Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal!”

The crowd cheers as the cameras pan across the crowd.

Phillips: “The rules are as follows: to start, two individuals will enter this ring, and then every two minutes, another entrant will enter the match until only one person remains. An entrant is eliminated by being thrown over the top rope and both feet touching the floor. The winner will receive an SCW World Championship opportunity at Rise to Greatness XIX!”

The crowd cheers again.

“One Shining Moment” by Luther Vandross plays as the crowd roars a bit. A few moments pass before we see Samuel Davis walking out from the back. Davis looks a bit nervous and then just shakes his head. He takes a deep breath and looks around before scanning the crowd.

Phillips: “The first entrant, from the Haüs of Nirvana, he is Samuel Davis!”

The crowd boos as Davis now starts to walk to the ring, his shoulders low, almost already defeated. He walks down the ramp before reaching the ring. He ignores the fans around him, some reaching out for pamphlets, yet he has none. He just grabs the ropes upon reaching the ring and pulls himself onto the apron. He rolls into the ring and slowly gets up. He then stops and looks around, understanding he’s now in the ring for the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal. He then shakes his head before walking over to the opposite corner and leaning back.

Sharper: “Samuel Davis starting this match. A testament to the progress he’s made, but he doesn’t look too confident.”

Lyman: “No Aries with him. No Clamidiya or whatever she’s going by tonight. He’s alone. And he’s coming off a significant defeat against Selena Frost.”

Knots: “He’ll be fine! This is just a setback! Unless his cheque bounced!”

Sharper: “Now let’s see who will join him in starting off the nineteenth Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal!”

As the arena lights cut, a video package opens up on the big screen, showing a dim lit corridor with one strip of light flickering in the background. The noise of several people crying and screaming can be heard in the background as the sound of a metal door slamming echoes around the arena. Moments later, a figure on the screen tied up in a straight jacket can be seen from behind, being drug along the corridor by two burly men. The jacketed figure is kicking and struggling to break free as they disappear into the darkness at the end of the corridor. The video package cuts and "I'm So Sick" by Flyleaf hits the PA system as a blinding white strobe light begins to flicker on and off rapidly. The crowd erupts in cheers.

I will breeak... into your thooughts...
With what's wriiitten oon my heaaart

Beyond the strobe lights, we suddenly see Nicole "Ducky" Kinneck with her head lowered and dragging her feet while a straight jacket confines her upper body. The pants she wears, tailored to fit, are the old wrestling pants of none other than the famous Dillusion. She also wears a unicorn hoodie.

I will BRREEEEAAAKKK!!

As the word "BREAK!!" screams through the PA system, pyros explode around Nicole as she too screams and rips off the straight jacket. Her hand flies to her head, grabbing a fist full of hair as she screams the second "BREAK!!" in the song. She looks around and spins around before starting to run to the ring.

Phillips: “And the second entrant, from St. Louis, Missouri, she is Ducky!”

Ducky jumps up and down, hearing her name. She then runs to the ring and rolls into the ring. She looks across at Samuel Davis, a huge smile on her face. Samuel Davis’s concern starts to soften as Ducky gets up and runs around the ring before spinning around, arms outstretched.

Sharper: “Well this may be the most unique start to the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal ever. Samuel Davis on one side. Ducky on the other.”

Knots: “Not Pro? But Ducky?”

Sharper: “Looks like it. I don’t see Pro putting on a unicorn onesy for no reason!”

Ducky looks at Samuel again before waving as the bell sounds. Ducky spins around again as the crowd cheers. Davis looks at Ducky and then nods before taking a deep breath and starting to get up and Ducky starts to look at him before smiling. She then extends her hand. Davis looks around the arena and then steps forward. Ducky smiles as Davis holds out his hand briefly before looking around. He then slowly steps up and extends his hand. As they grasp in a handshake. Ducky then suddenly cups his other hand and does a series of gestures as if it’s a secret handshake. Davis looks confused as Ducky then looks at him. She then points.

Ducky: “YOU’RE AN ALIEN!”

Ducky drops down and rolls to the floor. Davis looks confused.

Sharper: “As I said, the most unique start to this match in history.”

Knots: “Davis failed his first test tonight. Oh this isn’t going to be good for this progress.”

Lyman: “Where in the world is she going?”

Ducky moves over to a specific part of the ringside area and looks underneath it. She then pulls out a cardboard box, already open and starts to unfurl an unnecessary amount of aluminium foil. The crowd erupts in cheers. Davis looks around confused as Ducky rips off some and quickly fashions it into a hat. She then pats it down as Davis, continues to look on confused. Ducky then turns to the crowd.

Ducky: “Don’t forget to foil!”

Ducky smiles and then turns and rolls into the ring. The hat nearly comes off, but she holds it on before getting up. Davis then looks around before, frustrated, he runs at Ducky. Davis attempts a clothesline. Ducky ducks. Davis misses and then immediately shows his anger. Davis turns around as Ducky does too and immediately boops him in the nose. Davis falls back, swatting at his nose and back into the corner. Ducky just smiles.

Sharper: “Davis went to try and attack Ducky. But Ducky is just…”

Lyman: “She’s Ducky. You can’t assume anything with her.”

Sharper: “And now she’s back down here again!”

Davis, completely demoralized by this start, drops down to a seated position. Ducky rolls to the floor, going over to the foil again and starts to unfurl more, ripping off more. She starts to fashion it into another hat before running over to the English announce position and places it on Jonathan Knots. As she does, the countdown clock starts up again.

Ducky: “You did nasty things with one! You need protection! Don’t forget to foil!”

Knots looks confused. Ducky smiles.

Knots: “Uh…thanks?”

Sharper: “Is she referring to Kennedy?”

Knots: “Don’t remind me.”

Lyman: “Didn’t she play an alien in a movie or something?”

The crowd roars as jaunty and generic royalty free music begins to play throughout the arena. The crowd roars as the Dancing Bear walks out and quickly flosses on the stage before heading to the ring. Ducky turns to the stage, her eyes widening, and then frantically enters the ring. Davis just gets up, trying to rebuild his confidence, as he gets up. Bear rolls into the ring, somewhat inelegantly. He gets up and Davis rears back, running at Bear. Bear just drops him with a huge bear paw. Davis hits the mat, rolling over, almost in tears, in frustration. Bear then looks at him.

Sharper: “Nicole’s attention turning to the Bear who is number three!”

Knots: “Davis’s night gets worse. Attacked by Duckys and Bears!”

Lyman: “You can take off the hat, Jon.”

Knots: “I don’t want her back here and maybe it will keep Kennedy away from me!”

Ducky then runs over to Bear and grabs him, hugging him. The crowd cheers as Ducky then turns and jumps onto his back. Bear, at first, spins around, trying to get her off, not realizing, presumably, Ducky is on him. After a brief spin, he stops and Ducky climbs up and smiles. Bear then drops down to a knee, possibly because he can’t keep Ducky on him. Ducky then starts to ride him like a horse, bear?

Ducky: “Wooo! I got my own war bear! Go Dancing Bear! Go!”

Ducky continues to “ride” Bear as Bear starts to slowly oblige, crawling around the ring. Ducky lets out an excited woo, before Bear bucks, and throws her off. Ducky rolls over, laughing. Bear staggers up to his feet and then looks around as Davis just remains in the corner, looking down, completely sapped of any hope.

Sharper: “Davis just down in the corner while Ducky apparently is riding Bear.”

Lyman: “He bucked her off!”

Ducky starts to get up as Bear turns to Davis but Ducky again runs over and jumps onto his back. Bear looks around, now realizing it is Ducky. He grabs at her, trying to get any handle on her before bending over and flipping Ducky over. Ducky rolls over. She starts to get up and turns to Bear.

Ducky: “I want to dance and sing a song Bear!”

Bear looks around as Ducky then grabs his arm and starts to wave his arms as she tries to dance. Bear looks around as Davis now sits down in the corner, watching this, telling them to keep going. The countdown clock returns. Bear tries to get free from Ducky.

The buzzer goes. “Groupie” by Cassie Steele plays as the crowd erupts in cheers. Syren then walks out from the back. Bear looks up as Davis just shakes his head. Syren jogs down to the ring.

Sharper: “And Syren, one of the favourites, has to go the distance practically to get the opportunity she craves. Can she survive from number four!”

Knots: “Well she’s got to deal with THAT in the ring!”

Syren jogs down to the ring and slides into the ring. She gets up as Bear manages to get free and shoves Ducky down. Syren sees this as Bear turns around and Bear runs at her. He swats at her. Syren ducks. She runs across the ring, bouncing off and Bear turns around as Syren nails him with the Face Lift. Bear falls back and up and over the top rope, being eliminated. The crowd roars. Syren then turns around as Ducky looks at Syren before turning to Bear and then back to Syren. Ducky then starts to almost cry.

Sharper: “Syren eliminated Bear. The first elimination in the match!”

Lyman: “Yeah, but Ducky…and Syren’s had issues not with Ducky, but with Pro and now she’s face to face with a very upset Ducky!”

Knots: “Is she tearing up?”

Ducky then lunges and nails Syren with a hard right and then another and another. Syren falls back as Ducky grabs her and goes for an Irish Whip, but Syren spins through and sends her in. She bounces off and Syren hits a back elbow. Ducky hits them at and rolls over. She then starts to get up as Syren grabs her and starts to lift her up, trying to eliminate her, but Ducky grabs at the ropes, hooking onto them. Syren tries to get her up and over. Davis meanwhile looks around and then takes a deep breath before starting to get up. Syren keeps trying to eliminate Ducky. Davis then runs over to Syren and tries to lift her up, but Syren turns, hooking the top rope. Davis then struggles to lift her up as Syren looks at him, almost confused as Ducky starts to use the ropes to allow her to bounce almost, yelling out “Weee!” Davis then lets go and backs up.

Sharper: “Well Syren couldn’t get Ducky out. But doesn’t look like Davis can eliminated Syren!”

Knots: “Oh God…so much lack of confidence that he didn’t even try. Just weakly trying to lift her up.”

Davis then holds his hands up as Syren looks at him and then Ducky before Davis lunges and goes for a hard right. Syren blocks it and nails him with one. Davis staggers back only to turn and walk into a Bittersweet Ending from Syren. The crowd roars.

"(Oh My) Darling Don’t Cry” by Run the Jewels plays as Beard runs out from the back. The crowd cheers him as he runs down to the ring.

Sharper: “Syren blasts Samuel Davis! Bittersweet Ending!”

Lyman: “And now Beard in. Been a tough month for him.”

Sharper: “Hoping to recover here with a good showing.”

Knots: “Ducky’s still in there jumping up and down. That’s a ring, not a playpen!”

Beard slides into the ring. Ducky keeps playing at the ropes, completely distracted, as Syren turns and goes for a clothesline on Beard. Beard stops and turns and locks in a side headlock. The crowd looks on as Beard tries to pull on Syren’s head. She pulls him back to the ropes and fires him off. Beard bounces off and Syren steps up and goes for a sleeper before locking in a side headlock of her own. She pulls back as Beard gets her to the ropes and fires her off. Syren bounces off the ropes and Beard shoulders Syren down. The crowd cheers. Syren looks up and Beard turns to the ropes, but Ducky falls on the top rope and Beard nearly goes up and over. The crowd roars. He holds on and manages to fall back inside.

Sharper: “Beard almost eliminated by Ducky’s antics!”

Knots: “He’s back in. But now Syren in control!”

Syren grabs Beard and pulls him up and hits a snap suplex. Beard rolls over as Syren turns and stomps him. She turns back as Ducky gets up and then pokes her in the eyes. Syren turns away, holding her eyes. Ducky smiles. She then runs over and jumps up and nails Syren with a running back avalanche, knocking her into the corner. Beard starts to get up as Ducky turns and runs around the ring before running at Beard and jumping up, but Beard catches her and hoists her on his shoulders. He throws her forward into the Kick It Up a Notch. The crowd ohs as Ducky falls to the mat.

Sharper: “And Beard! Big impact. Hard kick. Ducky down!”

Knots: “Got some revenge for nearly getting eliminated by her goofing off.”

Lyman: “But now back to Syren. Syren’s the big fish in there!”

Beard runs over and nails Syren with a kick to the ribs. He nails her again and then starts to hoist her up to lift her up and over. Syren holds on, desperately trying to do so as the crowd roars. The countdown clock returns.

FEEL THE FUNK BLAST (Calm Like a Bomb)

“Calm Like a Bomb” by Rage Against the Machine plays throughout the arena. The crowd cheers as Alexis Quinne walks out from the back. She takes off her face coverings and then runs down to the ring.

Sharper: “The former World Champion, Alexis Quinne, in at six!”

Lyman: “Another favourite that may have to go a long way to get there.”

Quinne jogs down to the ring as Syren keeps holding on. Beard keeps trying to get her up and over and manages to do so, but Syren dives back into the ring. Quinne rolls in and Beard turns and goes for a clothesline. Quinne ducks and turns and jumps to the middle rope and dives back with a twisting crossbody. Quinne rolls over and gets up as Syren stirs and Quinne jumps up and dropkicks her down. Quinne spins around and even stomps Davis for good measure. Beard gets back up and Quinne steps up and forearms him in the jaw and then again and again. She backs up and then lunges. Beard side steps. Quinne jumps up, but slides through the ropes to the apron. Beard turns and goes for a hard right. Quinne blocks it, grabs his arm and then runs up the corner. She jumps forward and lands on his head and drops him down with a frankenstener. The crowd roars.

Sharper: “Quinne bringing in all of the influences. There’s the lucha-libre and Beard just caught by it.”

Lyman: “You want to talk about someone focused. There it is. Quinne told me earlier. She wants this. She wants to get there again. To the top! And she knows she’s got to be sharp!”

Syren gets up and goes for a clothesline. Quinne ducks and stops and Syren turns. Quinne jumps up and goes for a monkey flip. Syren shoves her off, blocking it. Syren then kicks Quinne in the ribs. Syren grabs her and goes to throw her over the top rope. Quinne grabs the top rope and spins through. Syren steps up and Quinne nails her with a pump kick. Syren stumbles back and Quinne slingshots in and then jumps up and hits a standing Ditzy Tour. The crowd ohs. Quinne then gets up as Ducky stirs. Beard stirs too. Quinne runs over and nails him with a running kick to the face. Beard flops back down to the ring. She spins around and grabs Ducky and pulls her up. She tries to eliminate her, placing her on the top rope and dropping low to use leverage to get her up and over. Ducky, again, grabs onto the top rope, holding on.

Sharper: “Quinne trying to eliminate Ducky! And let’s be clear about one thing. Ducky’s been more childish than usual. But this is someone who is one of the historic ironwomen in this thing.”

Knots: “Yeah. One year she was in there for like an hour!”

Lyman: “One thing about Nicole Kinneck is she is resilient!”

Sharper: “And Quinne knows that!”

Syren grabs at the ropes as Ducky keeps struggling. The countdown clock returns.

The buzzer goes. “Violence Fetish” by Disturbed plays as the crowd boos. We then see Konrad Raab walking out from the back, brandishing not only a baseball bat, but a barbed wire wrapped bat too.

Sharper: “Oh my God! Konrad Raab out! And good lord. He’s brought an armory!”

Lyman: “He wasn’t at Breakdown. But he’s just an angry, angry man!”

Konrad Raab storms to the ring as Quinne keeps trying to get Ducky over. Ducky however now starts to fight, nailing her with a couple of shots. Quinne stumbles back. Beard then boots her in the face with a running Yakuza kick. He spins around as Raab rolls into the ring and keeps the chair. He then steps up and nails Beard in the ribs with the chair. The crowd boos. Syren gets up and Raab nails her with the edge of the chair. Syren staggers back and Raab cracks her in the back with the steel chair. She drops to the mat. Raab turns as Ducky starts to get up. Raab walks over and grabs the barbed wire bat he brought, just as one of the officials was going to grab it. Raab points at them.

Sharper: “Raab has dropped Beard, Syren and Quinne with that chair!”

Lyman: “He’s grabbed that barbed wire wrapped bat!”

Knots: “Ducky’s the only one up!”

Ducky then steps up as Raab points the barbed wire bat at Ducky. Ducky turns her head.

Ducky: “You want to play!”

Ducky smiles and Raab just smirks before then stepping up and swinging the bat violently towards her head. Ducky ducks and Raab steps forward. Ducky then runs over and jumps up and onto his shoulders. She grabs the bat a bit before leaning forward, causing Raab top fall forward, face first into the barbed wire bat. The crowd ohs. Raab rolls over, holding his face. Ducky then grabs the bat. She holds it up. She looks at it, touching one of the barbs. She pulls back. She then turns and walks over and then moves forward, pushing it down into Raab.

Ducky: “Your toys hurt!”

Ducky then steps back as Raab pushes the bat away. He gets up, incensed, a cut over his eye. He then turns as Ducky turns her back to Raab. Raab then handsprings into the ropes and dives back, drilling Ducky with the Ice Storm. The crowd boos. Raab then sits up as Beard slowly stirs. As he does, the countdown clock returns.

Sharper: “Raab just puts Ducky down with the Ice Storm!”

Knots: “I’ve never seen him hit it with that violence!”

Raab grabs the barbed wire bat, but Beard steps up and stands on it. He nails Raab with a hard right and then another.

Lyman: “Marshall and Syren, face to face!”

The crowd buzzes as Syren and Marshall watch one another and then Marshall shakes his finger. Syren tells her to come at him and then swings, nailing Marshall with a forearm shot. The arena goes dark, and slowly smoke begins to rise from the entry way.  "Battle Cry" by Little V begins to play over the PA system...

I hear the Battle Cry

Under the Devil's Sky
The One Winged Angel Screams
It fuels my Hopes and Dreams
The Best Bout Machine

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

With the stinger of the song hitting, an explosion and pyrotechnics hit, cuing the spotlights to hit, and standing in the entry way is The One with her back turned to the audience, head down, and her right hand up in the air with the number one in the air.  She turns at the waist, looking directly at the ring, and slowly lowers her hand, finger still extended, to point to her destination. She fully turns and begins her walk to the ring, quickly, but methodically, occasionally slowly down to look around, not necessarily trusting anyone around her to not come rush her and attack her. Beard looks at the entrance.

Sharper: “Coming in at number ten, the One is here!”

Knots: “Who is the One?!”

Sharper: “That’s her and she’s coming to the ring. Beard, one of her presumed targets, is waiting for her!”

Moore continues to get Syren over. Syren falls to the apron. Moore turns and grabs her, but Syren shoulders her in the ribs. She steps back and Beard nails her with a kick to the ribs, knocking her down. The One pulls herself onto the apron and then into the ring. She steps forward as Beard looks at her. Beard says something to her only for the One to not respond. Beard says something again and the One then kicks him in the ribs. She grabs him by the arm and pulls him in before hoisting him up and dropping him with a sitout uranage slam. She then pulls back with an anaconda vyse. Beard struggles mightily as the One pulls back. Quinne stirs as Syren walks over to her and hoists her up. She struggles as Marshall starts to get up too. Raab remains down as The One then lets go of Beard.

Sharper: “The One dropping Beard and I think Beard’s out!”

Lyman: “She just hoisted him up. This woman lifted Beard up and now has choked him out!”

The One then grabs Beard and drags him over to the ropes. Showing her strength, she then starts to lift him up and gets under him before lifting him over the top rope and dumping him over. Beard lands on the floor. The crowd ohs. The One turns as we then see Konrad Raab spin around her and hit her with a release German suplex. The crowd ohs. The One drops down as the countdown clock returns.

CHBK runs down to the ring and reaches the ringside area. He steps up the steel steps and into the ring. He then enters as Raab steps up to him. The crowd roars as CHBK looks at Raab, blood drying on his face. Terry Marshall then starts to get up and staggers forward.

Sharper: “And look at this. CHBK entering the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal in 2022. The winner of the first one!”

Lyman: “And look at this. CHBK, Raab, Marshall…”

Sharper: “Age is just a number. All three in their late fifties or in CHBK’s case…sixties.”

Knots: “Gotta move quick. CHBK’s expiring as we speak!”

Knots: “Again?!”

Sharper: “Apparently, but that’s not Ducky or Pro. That’s…is that Nicole? We’ve rarely seen Nicole just be herself. But she looks nervous and…”

The One blasts him again as Polly walks around and then goes over to the apron and jumps up. Sarah runs over and stops her, attacking her with a couple of shots. Ace’s music continues to as the boos continue. Syren looks up too.

Sharper: “And Ace Marshall scheduled for number twenty-eight, but where the hell is he?”

Lyman: “Great question. I’d assume he’d have made it out by now. Even if he wanted to come through the crowd like Sarah Wolf did!”

Syren steps forward as The One tries to get Allocco up. Allocco struggles before we cut backstage.

Backstage, we see Lexy Chapel talking to Shaun Cruze.

Chapel: “Look! I don’t know! I didn’t put a bell on him. But this screams…you…you did it! You had it out for him. Not giving him his title match and-“

We then see Ravyn Taylor walk into view. She hands Shaun a folded piece of paper.

Ravyn: “Sorry, Lexy. But this is pressing.”

Ravyn smirks as Shaun Cruze looks at the paper and then reads it.

Cruze: “Is this…”

Ravyn: “Indeed.”

Cruze: “Well…”

Cruze motions as Ravyn turns to Lexy and waves as Lexy looks confused.

Gavin drops to a knee and Kim grabs him and runs him to the ropes, throwing him up and over and eliminating them. The crowd boos as Kim dusts her hands, smiling.

Ravyn Taylor sits down and grabs a headset.

Ravyn: “Figured you’d need a former winner’s perspective.”

Sharper: “We weren’t originally part of this though.”

Ravyn: “Am now? Friends in low places.”

Knots: “Well you may have a friend here. Lexy just stole someone’s spot I think!”

Knots: “Aren’t you going to help Ravyn?”

Ravyn: “She has her goals. I have mine. We’ve agreed to otherwise not cross paths in them. We have different approaches. Plus, I have a meeting.”

Lyman: “Oh boy.”

Lexy Chapel walks over to the announce table. She slaps the top of it.

Chapel: “Okay! How’d you forge it?! Huh?! How?!”

Ravyn: “It’s not a forgery. Perhaps you should speak with him.”

Chapel: “Duh, I have. He’s my client…ONLY my client. And I would text him if someone hadn’t stolen my phone. It was probably you!”

Ravyn: “Check me. Check my bags if you want. I don’t really care about you anymore. I had my fun last fall.”

Chapel looks around.

Chapel: “Well you’re clearly NOT done. So-“

Ravyn: “Fine…you want to deal with me. End this.”

Ravyn gets up as Chapel nods. Ravyn takes off the headset and steps forward as we cut to the ring and see Syren nearly up and over.

Lyman: “And Penguin is the only one not involved! He’s not in it!”

Ravyn: “May we see that dullard finally do something intelligent!”

Knots: “Oh God! He’s going to the top!”

Penguin climbs up to the top rope, back facing the ring. The crowd cheers as Penguin gets to the top rope and glances back. He then starts to do the sign of a cross before shrugging and diving back with the Trust Fall onto the whole group of people. They fall to the mat in a heap, some falling to the mat. Others, like Kim, nearly going out of the ring, but holding on and falling down. Penguin just lies in the middle of the ring, breathing heavily and then touching himself, his body, presumably checking to make sure he’s still alive. The countdown clock returns.

Sharper: “Hairless Penguin just took out the field!”

Lyman: “Human bowling at the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal!”

Knots: “And he seems unscathed. That’s a shame!”

Ravyn: “I can’t believe I agree with you Jon.”

Knots: “If you can be available for other nefarious schemes, I’ll even support a World Title shot for you!”

Ravyn: “Well then. How about you take off the aluminium foil hat first before you make serious offers?”

We hear the shuffling of aluminium foil, cutting to ringside to see Knots removing Ducky’s hat for him. Hairless Penguin slowly gets up in the middle of the ring.

Tsunami heads to the ring as Lester Damron smiles. Hairless Penguin gulps and looks at him as the field around him stirs. Tsunami walks over to the ring and grabs the top rope. He pulls himself up onto the apron. He looks in and then steps into the ring. He steps forward as Penguin looks around and then touches his mask before getting into a fighting stance. Allocco grabs at her and tries to eliminate her, but we then see Quinne kicks at Owen. Owen stumbles back and falls across the ring into Allocco. Allocco turns and grabs at Owen, but Holly then jumps up and hits a pump kick to the head of Allocco. Allocco falls over as Holly glares at him before suddenly Syren runs across the ring and drives her shoulder into Holly’s ribs. Holly falls back and to the floor. The crowd cheers.

Sharper: “Holly eliminated by her former best friend!”

Knots: “If Adam had just taken the deal! If just!”

Penguin looks around and cowers in the corner, hooking back onto the bottom rope. Kim is whipped across the ring and Hudson hoists her up on the rebound. Kim elbows out of it as Hudson sets up for the Big Fat Fill. Kim lands on her feet and hits a DDT. She then gets up and runs at Quinne. Quinne lowers her head and Kim goes up and over, but lands on the apron. Quinne turns and Kim nails her with a hard right and then hits a guillotine drop. Kim smirks and pulls herself up, but Penguin pulls himself into the ring and just throws himself at Kim. Kim falls back, trying to grab onto the ropes, but falls back to the floor. The crowd ohs and boos as Kim looks up. Penguin slides back away from the ropes, looking at Kim in a mix of terror and relief!

Sharper: “I don’t believe it! Penguin! Penguin has eliminated Kim Williams!”

Lyman: “He overcame his terror just seeing her and managed to eliminate her. But just think about that!”

Sharper: “And Kim…she doesn’t look mad. But almost…the wheels are turning. Look at her, just maniacally looking at the ring.”

Kim gets up and looks at Penguin. Penguin looks around and then gets up only for Owen to hit a dropkick, knocking him down. Kim smirks as Penguin holds his face. Owen gets up and grabs him as Quinne moves to the corner. She looks over as Syren turns back and grabs Hudson. She drags him up and nails him with a couple of hard right. Quinne now starts to climb up to the top rope. The crowd roars. Allocco gets up and walks over as Hudson nails Syren in the ribs. Owen drags Penguin, before Quinne gets to the top and yells out “HEY!” trying to get their attention before diving forward with the Quinnetessential Dream onto the pile. The crowd ohs as they fall down, the second such time in this match as Quinne rolls over, holding her ribs.

Knots: “Quinne’s nuts!”

Sharper: “The Quinnetessential Dream off the top! Quinne knows she’s tired. But she went big and hit everyone! All five others.”

Lyman: “She’s trying to get herself the best chance. Her and Syren, over an hour in there!”

Sharper: “Allocco getting up there too, but everyone else fresher. But even fresh…”

Lyman: “Owen and Hudson – thirty minutes themselves. Penguin is the freshest at just over twenty minutes.”

Knots: “And he’s spent most of that unconscious or wetting himself!”

Quinne rolls over to the ropes, looking at the other five down. The crowd looks on cheering. Quinne looks around the ring and pulls herself up. She then turns and staggers over to Penguin and pulls him up. She then turns and runs him over to the corner, driving him face first into the turnbuckle. Penguin turns as Quinne nails him with a series of hard rights. Hudson and Allocco stir as Syren rolls to the ropes. Owen staggers up and Quinne whips Penguin to Owen. Penguin and Owen bang heads and both hit the mat. Hudson then turns and nails Quinne with a clothesline. He then turns around and goes for a clothesline to Allocco. Allocco ducks and Syren kicks him in the ribs before Allocco superkicks Hudson in the back of the head and he falls forward. Syren pulls down the top rope and Hudson goes up and over the top rope to the floor. The crowd cheers.

Sharper: “Hudson gone! Syren pulling down the top rope as Allocco gets him!”

Lyman: “But just one miss there. And you can see. Just trying to push to the end.”

Knots: “What’s he going to think that Hairless Penguin has outlasted him!”

Owen turns and rolls over and sees Hudson on the floor. He smirks as Hudson goes to climb in, but the officials stop him. They keep him back as Owen gets up, and clutches his wrist briefly before getting up. He winces and moves to the corner. Penguin stirs too as Allocco runs at Owen. Owen gets a boot up. Allocco stumbles back and Syren hits a discus clothesline. Owen then runs at Syren and hits a dropkick. Syren hits the mat. Owen gets up as Quinne runs over and kicks him in the ribs. Owen staggers back to the corner. Penguin then gets up and just wildly chops Quinne in the chest. She hits the mat. Penguin then looks around before counting to five. His eyes widen as he then grabs Quinne and runs her to the corner. Penguin runs after, but Quinne gets a boot up. Penguin stumbles back. Owen goes to run out, but Hudson manages to run over and grabs Owen’s left wrist. Hudson pulls and Owen grimaces in pain as Owen turns and kicks at the ropes.

Sharper: “Hudson! Hudson grabbing Owen’s arm. And we’ve wondered if its injured. He’s favoured it at times!”

Knots: “Looks like the case there! Looks like something is off!”

The officials get him away and Owen steps out as we then see Quinne run across and duck a clothesline attempt from Penguin. She then grabs Owen and goes to lift him over. He tries to grab with his right wrist, but Penguin turns, frantically running over to Quinne and Owen and lifts underneath them and lifts them both up and over. He then falls back as the crowd erupts.

Sharper: “The Hairless Penguin just eliminated both Alexis Quinne and Owen Lee! My God!”

Lyman: “Just think of the sentence you just said.”

Sharper: “Hairless Penguin is in the final three!”

Knots: “Oh dear Jesus!”

Penguin then gets up and looks around as Syren and Allocco then both run at him and hit a double dropkick. Penguin falls back and goes up and over the top rope to the floor. He falls to the entrance way and rolls through back. The crowd ohs. Syren and Allocco roll away from one another and look at each other.

Sharper: “And Syren and Allocco teaming together to get each other to the final two!”

Knots: “Syren doing everything she can to get one more shot at the World Title at Rise to Greatness. Allocco looking to come back after hitting rock bottom. Who is going to Rise to Greatness to challenge for the World Title and face Selena Frost?!”

Sharper: “These two know each other well. They’ve had so many run-ins over the years. There is no love lost here.”

Syren and Allocco circle the ring as the crowd cheers more and more. Allocco and Syren then lunge at one another and Allocco goes for a grapple, but Syren ducks and spins around him and pushes him forward. Allocco bounces off the ropes and Syren kicks him in the ribs. She goes for the Total Makeover. Allocco shoves her off. Syren bounces off and Allocco catches her for a T-Bone suplex. Syren elbows out and both spin around before Syren goes for a Bittersweet Ending. Allocco ducks and spins around. He attempts a superkick of his own. Syren ducks that. She grabs him, but Allocco strikes her in the ribs and she falls back through the ropes to the apron. Allocco not realizing she’s just gone through the ropes, rushes to eliminate her, but Syren forearms him. Allocco staggers back, but Syren then jumps to the top rope and twists in the air, going for the Beauty Spot!

Sharper: “Syren and Allocco trading maneuvers. Neither connecting! Beauty Spot!”

Knots: “No!”

Lyman: “How?!”

Sharper: “Pure adrenaline!”

Allocco blocks it and lifts her up and Syren spins through, landing on her feet. He goes for a kick to the leg and goes for the Back from Rehab, but Syren shoves him off. She runs after him immediately and catches him with a clothesline, knocking Allocco up and over the top rope. The crowd roars as Allocco ends up on the apron.

Sharper: “Syren! Clothesline! Allocco in trouble!”

Knots: “One wrong move!”

Syren then grabs Allocco and nails him with repeatedly blows. She grits her teeth, fighting through the pain and exhaustion before rearing back and going for another shot, but Allocco blocks it and pulls her over the top rope. She holds onto the ropes for dear life. Allocco pulls, trying to just shove her down while he hooks the ropes. Syren fights and elbows him in the jaw and then again before stepping forward, but Allocco stomps her in the knee and grabs her head, hitting the Back from Rehab on the apron. Syren falls off the apron to the floor. Allocco falls back to the apron as the bell sounds and the crowd cheers.

Sharper: “Allocco! Adam Allocco! In stunning fashion. Outlasting Syren who seemed to be willing herself to a legendary performance of her own was trumped by Wrestling’s Enlightenment!”

Knots: “One shot. One wrong move. That was it.”

Lyman: “Allocco got that kick to the leg and then hit the Back to Rehab. Syren could not stop it. And Adam Allocco now joins his son…the only father and son pairing to both win the SCW Taking Hold of the Flame!”

Allocco rolls into the ring. He winces, slowly getting up, the adrenaline having worn off.

Phillips: “Here is your winner of the 2022 Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal…Adam Allocco!”

The crowd cheers as pyro shoots off from the stage and sparks go off above the ring. Allocco drops to his knees, exhausted. Syren leans against the barricade, holding her jaw and just looking dejected as she drops down, exhausted herself. Allocco remains in the ring on his knees, just looking around.

Sharper: “Adam Allocco will face Selena Frost, World Title on the line, Rise to Greatness XIX. And what a journey this will be!”

The camera remains on Allocco as he just absorbs the moment as the scene fades to black…
