To say that Cassie’s 2023 was off to a bad start was putting it mildly! The teenaged prodigy had started the year by losing her first ever singles title in controversial fashion and her attempts to win it back only alienated her from the rest of the MPW Roster forcing Krystal to step in before she went any further off the deep end! And to make matters worse, Cassie had gotten so swept up in the controversy that she had forgotten to promote her first ever title match in Supreme Championship Wrestling, only finding out when the SCW higher ups checked in on her.
But now that it was clear that Cassie had made a mistake, the SCW bosses were giving her another chance to get back on the winning side as she was taking on Alexis Quinne this week on Breakdown! Not only was Alexis eleven years older than Cass and wrestled the same style but Alexis had been much the same rebellious rookie as Cassie, albeit two years older than Cass, and she had held multiple titles in SCW and elsewhere! Can Cassie get the win?

Why do I get the feeling that this year is just going to kick my ass?
If you’ve been following me Twitter (and you should, I’m fucking hilarious) then you know that I haven’t had a great start of the year to say the last, I’ve ranted enough about the situation in MPW that it’s a well-trodden road even just two weeks after the event but that controversy did have one side effect, well okay, it had several side effects but this one is the one that’s most relevant to what I want to talk about today!
I was so pissed off at how I got screwed over in my last MPW TV Title Defence that I forgot about my challenge for SCW’s TV Title against Polly Playtime until it was too late! And no, the irony is not lost on me!
After missing a week because of that, I’ve been booked on this week’s Breakdown against Alexis Quinne, you know I joked yesterday about how my opponent in PWS: Apex (Morgan Baker) was practically a carbon copy of me but if I was facing Alexis when she first arrived on the scene then the joke would’ve been a lot more appropriate because aside from a two-year age difference, she was much the same as me.
Does that mean I’m going to grow up to be boring? God I hope not!
”Damn it, why can’t I think of anything for this team name?” I asked myself as I stared at my laptop screen whilst leaning my head on my hand, this week I was teaming with Krystal to take on The Baby Sharks (Lola Dane and Lil’ Blanco Tiger) in MPW but I was drawing a blank for anything that I could draw from their team name for trash talk. ”Maybe a quick google search will inspire me?”
And that quick Google Search followed, I had never seen an episode of Shark Tank or watched Shark Tale so those things were out, but after I included fin I saw something called “Shark Fin Soup” and not knowing what it was, I tweeted about always wanting to try it, seconds later Krystal came into the room with a look on her face that somehow combined “confused” and “disgusted” and I glanced up at her. ”Cass, do you have any idea what you just tweeted?!”
”Err, not really, I just found the dish whilst trying to google inspiration for trash talk against the Baby Sharks and well, that dish caught my eye.” I admitted and Krystal facepalmed as she shook her head. ”I didn’t even click on the link Google provided!”
”Okay, good, you didn’t tweet that whilst knowing how that soup is made.” Krystal sighed in relief and I got the sinking feeling (pun not intended) that I had just fucked up big time for about the third time this month! ”Just to save you the trouble, Shark Fin Soup is a dish that originates from Asia and is normally served at special occasions like weddings, it’s also highly controversial because of how they get the fins!”
”It involves animal cruelty doesn’t it?” I asked with a looming sense of dread and Krystal quickly nodded in response, and another quick Google search confirmed my worse fears. ”They cut the fins off whilst the sharks are still alive and throw them back into the water? But wouldn’t that kill them?”
”It does, either by suffocation or by predators eating the sharks, which is also why the practice has been outlawed in many countries.” Krystal nodded and I winced as it set in, and to make matters worse? It was too late to delete the tweet because there was no unringing that bell. ”And this is why I wanted to monitor any MPW tweets you make until this mess with Rowen is resolved! You just made it sound like you support animal cruelty for the sake of trash talk!”
”Which you know is bullshit because you’ve seen me interact with Tali, Garrus and Sandie!” I responded and almost on cue my Labrador Puppy Sandie entered the room to join us, once she was close enough to us I picked up the pupper and rested her on my lap as I started to stroke her. ”Honestly does this look like a girl who supports animal cruelty?!” I asked as Sandie’s tail wagged and she let out a yawn.
”No, but neither of the Baby Sharks will see this unless you send them a tape of you playing with Sandie!” Krystal sighed as she shook her head. ”I’m on your side Cass but from now on run any wrestling related tweets by me! Anything else is fair game but you’ve been on thin ace since you lost the TV Title!”
”Right, because that’s exactly what I need.” I sighed as Krystal walked out and gave Sandie a few head strokes, the puppy licked my older cousin’s hand and I quickly thought of a way to change the subject. ”I heard Chelsea Skye finally won a World Title!”
”You mean the Havoc World Title right? I about to call her to congratulate Chelsea.” Krystal nodded as she leaned against the desk, Chelsea was a rather (in)famous wrestling vagabond known just as much for her skill as a wrestler as she was for her sense of humour, porn career and Death Metal bands! What was less well known was the fact that Chelsea was a Go Gym graduate having graduated as part of the 2019 class mostly because she didn’t publicly advertise that fact. ”I’m happy for her after how difficult 2022 was for her but I do hope she ends up in Sin City someday!”
”Maybe she will, or maybe that cameo she made in the Rock & Roll Deathmatch will be the closest thing we get to Chelsea in SCW, either way I have a match in the other SCW to prepare for.” I responded as I shook my head and Krystal nodded before she left the room.
Well, this year can only go up from here for me, right? Right?!

May as well get this out the way first.
”There’s something I need to address before I get to the nit and gritty of this promo, namely the fact that this is my first Breakdown promo of the year rather than my second because I was booked in a TV Title Match two weeks ago and didn’t promo for it.” I sighed as I ran a hand through my long black hair. ”To make a long story short, certain bullshit happened in my life that made me completely forget about it until it was too late! But the bosses in Supreme Championship Wrestling were kind enough to let me have a chance to bounce back from that mistake as I’m taking on Alexis Quinne in this week’s Breakdown!”
This will be good.
”I feel like the Spider-Man pointing meme is appropriate here because Alexis? You weren’t that much different from me when you first arrived in Supreme Championship Wrestling! In fact the only difference, well aside from this being years ago, is the fact that you were two years older than me at the time! Oh and you grew up to be a boring thirty-year-old!” I said as I flipped some hair over my shoulder. ”Am I saying that I don’t want to grow up? Hell no! I want to be old enough to drink alcohol without having to travel to England first! But I don’t want to stop being a rebel either!”
But I digress.
”Because where’s the fun in being a law-abiding citizen? I say I don’t have my puppy with me because this hotel doesn’t allow pets, or as I don’t have any plans to murder anyone yet, yeah, I worded that badly didn’t I?” I asked with a sigh as I facepalmed. ”Okay, let me rephrase! As the Rebel Princess I believe that rules are made to be broken or bent, I don’t want to grow out of this phase and that’s what separates us Alexis, otherwise we are both highflyers and the fans are expecting an exciting match, just one problem? Can you keep up with someone eleven years younger than you?””
Good question!
”I just made you feel old didn’t I Alexis? Sorry, not sorry!” I commented with a grin on my face. ”Because after the start my year has had? I need any fucking advantage I can get, doesn’t matter if my opponent is one year older, two, three, four, five, even fifteen years older than me because I’ve already proven that I can kick the asses of veterans who quickly find out that they can’t keep up with me, Alexis will find that out the hard way at Breakdown when a former rebel takes on the Rebel Princess!”

”And considering I’ve only been wrestling for months at this point? I’ve already made a huge impact on the wrestling scene and my impacts will keep getting bigger as I gain more experience!” I said as I stared into the camera. ”It’s easier to list the wrestlers who are more experienced than me then it is to list my fellow rookies but until I find someone else my age and with my experience level? I’ll keep humiliating veterans like Alexis Quinne, simply by out-wrestling them!”
It's that simple.
”My year hasn’t been great so far but it can only get better from here and this match will be a good way to start just that!” I added as I folded my arms. ”Alexis you were a rebel once upon a time but you changed as you got older, the only thing that’s gonna change about me as I get older is that I enter my early twenties, the eleventh of July can’t come fast enough, and that I gain more experience as a wrestler!”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
”What can I say? I like being a rebel too much to give it up so soon and this match will be a good opportunity to demonstrate how beneath all that is the future of the wrestling business, something Alexis Quinne will find out soon enough!” I said as I leaned back in my chair. ”So, to all my fans? I went downstairs to grab a late breakfast as the scene fades.

[Camera is live. Alexis Quinne is seated on the couch inside a hotel room. The walls were beige with a slew of frames mounted on the dining room walls; ranging from a newspaper front page of Urban Meyer hoisting up the National Championship to a dark silhouette of the skyscappers in downtown Columbus. There was a gold chandelier illuminating from above. The floors were smoky; faded greys and whites. Alexis leaned into the grey couch with a black "VOVYAGERS" hat with the words in bold white letters, almost covering her eyes. Her long black hair were braided in pigtails. A white tank top and black leggings completed her look. Her eyes glare at the camera as she adjust in her seat, straightening her posture.]
Alexis: Yo.
[She presses her pointer and middle finger together before tapping her forehead saluting.]
Alexis: Yo. Cassie. You just had to pick the perfect time to drop the MPW TV belt. You could have put that on the line against me, you know. I would have beaten you for it, start making some trips to the UK, defend it there. Bring it back to the States and defend it here. Could have been fun.
[Alexis shrugs her shoulders.]
Alexis: Could have been fun. You had to expect that ROWEN and Vanessa was going to pull something, right? That's just wrestling 1 on 1. The way those two get down, you had to expect that ROWN and Vanessa was going to get dirty. I mean you tried pulling ROWEN's tights so you had some idea. You play with dirt, Cassie. You get dirty.
Or maybe you didn't. You were getting high on your own supply. Cassie Two Belts. TV belt in one hand, tag belt in the other. Super rookie right.
Oh well.
[Alexis' lips curl to the side. She brings her left hand to rest on the bottom of her chin.]
Alexis: All of this, the two titles, the match with ROWEN, stuff like that, didn't happen in SCW. So there's a section of people wondering what I'm talking about. But the world of pro wrestling is more than just SCW. Cassie is international. I'm ribbing her for over her belt but she's out here, wrestling in the UK and winning belts. She just got another gig in Pro Wrestling Apex. FFP. Conquest. These companies all over the world are lining up to put your pen to paper, Cassie. That doesn't happen if you're trash.
[Alexis reaches up with her right hand, grabbing the tip of her hat and pushing it upward a bit. Her brown eyes are revealed. Her facial expression is neutral with a wry smirk.]
Alexis: Thursday night, here in Columbus, you know. Breakdown. It's you and me. We've never been in the same ring but I feel like i know you. Have seen a lot of your matches. I'm a fan honestly. There's a lot of speed and quickness. Just seeing you whip off the ropes. Bombing people from the top. That 630 with the spin on it. Could never do anything like that. When you're on that turnbuckle, you got a lot of options. A lot in that toolbox. I watch some of these pre tapes of yours and you know, you got your chest puffed out and you got your girlfriends with you. It's cute.
[She snickers while wiping her nose.]
Alexis: When you were going at YUYU, yelling at her. I'M THE FUTURE OF PRO WRESTLING! I'LL CUT A BITCH! That sent me, honestly. It reminded me of this girl from San Francisco who use to collect daggers and be obsessed with Chucky. She use to ay all types of shit to people. Still does.
You do this long enough. You watch as much wrestling as I have and you last as long as I have and there comes a point where you see these mini versions of who you were when you were younger. In your profile pic on Twitter, that's basically my gear. Down to the long socks. I don't know if you're a fan of mine. You know, there's a lot of similarities. There's a lot of pride. Not many come from Australia. Wanting to represent your school. Hero Academy. I get it. Every step I take, the whole Bay Area is with me. I carry them with me. There was a lot of pride, for me, that I represented GG [Golden Gate Wrestling Academy].
[Alexis presses her lips together.]
Alexis: When I was 19 I thought I knew everything. I'm 30 now and I think I know everything. I can hear it with you. You're figuring shit out but you think you've learned a lot. You've learned. Sure. If I touch the hot stove and get burned, I learn not to touch it again. You went through the school, you're traveling the world, wrestling. And yet, Cassie, you still don't know shit.
[Alexis tightens her face.]
Alexis: There's a lot of rehearsing. Saying lines in front of the mirror. Trying to find the right match. I mean I use to do it too. Whatever sounded cool, I would just say it. Pint Sized Awesomeness. It just sounded like I was a bad ass and I ran with it.
Rebel Princess.
What's your war, solider?
[Alexis strokes her chin.]
Alexis: Your mug is everywhere in every promotion but you're fighting the man right? There's rooks I know in the Bay making shit. But these companies can't run fast enough to lock you down.
Rebel Princess.
[Alexis scoffs.]
Alexis: Yeah....yeah. Hungry like a wolfe.
Cool.
[Alexis smacks her lips.]
Alexis: It's all good now though, right? The honeymoon phase. You get signed. You get that first taste. You're making more money than you ever have and you're wrestling in front of thousands of people. There's millions that watch SCW every week. It goes real quick from nothing to something. What happens when the party ends??
[Her head tilts to the right. Her eyebrows narrow.]
Alexis: What happens when you taste some losses? When the book is out and everyone starts adjusting to how they wrestle you. And they take away all the stuff you want to do. I'll do you one better, what happens when shit doesn't get fun anymore and you know, maybe you get screwed over by someone you trust.
What happens then?
[Alexis rubs her face.]
Alexis: You were in high school, like, what? Two years ago. Jesus.
[Alexis shakes her head.]
Alexis: Fuck me.
[An incredulous expression appears on her face.]
Alexis: Fuck me. I don't know if you liked science class. I hated it unless we were blowing up shit or doing Einstein stuff with chemicals and what not. You ever see those little posters and it has...it has like the ecosystem, you know? And it just shows the cycle of everything. Well in pro wrestling, there is also an ecosystem. I' the middle child. Cassie. Not old enough to be considered a legend or past my prime. Not young enough to be called a rookie. I've done some things but I haven't done everything. And then underneath, there's wrestlers like you. Young, on the come up, looking to climb that ladder.
You go home to, what? You live with your parents still? I'm generally asking. Do you? I get the feeling from the way you talk life is great. You have no worries. No struggles. Good for you. I'm barely home. I'm either at a hotel a few days prior if I'm wrestling. Or I'm flying on my dime to go see live wrestling with my own eyes. Me and Angela always have the camera rolling. You know, VOYAGERS work and all that. Sometimes I'm in PR with Big Papi and I'm sleeping on the mats in his little school because first thing in the morning, I'm hitting the ring and I'm scrapping.
When i do go home, it's me, myself, the big screen where I watch more wrestling and the canvases I paint on to make money.
[Alexis throws her arms up.]
Alexis: That's what I do. That's what I choose to do. The last rookie I wrestled, I went in thinking I had it figured out. Oh Amelia Stone's gonna come after the arm. That sets up her finish. And then she went after my leg and then when I put her in the Jack in the Box, I didn't have enough to hold her and she flipped it on me.
[Alexis shakes her head.]
Alexis: You think you know and then pro wrestling reminds you you haven't learned shit. There is no such thing as half assed pro wrestlers. You're either in it or not. Through sickness and health. Through the highs and the lows. I've been the half assed wrestlers, jaded by everything. It sucked and I sucked in the ring. I've been all in and let a rookie get the best of me. Your lost your first title. I've lost the World title. I've lost best friends. In the ring. Out of the ring. One of my uncles just passed away. He had cancer and I told myself I was goin to see him. But I'm grinding the tape. I'm traveling the world. i'm training. i'm in the stands, watching wrestling.
I beat myself up a bit not making the time to go see him in the hospital. But this is what I chose. This is my life, really. This is what it is. And the best of the best Cassie, that's what it is. I've heard so many people say they're the future of the business. I heard Alex Young say that and he lasted like a few months. I heard Lexi Von Aaron say that she was the future and she lasted like two years. AJ Helms was basically the golden child and you can't find him to save your life.

[Camera is live. Alexis Quinne is seated on the couch inside a hotel room. The walls were beige with a slew of frames mounted on the dining room walls; ranging from a newspaper front page of Urban Meyer hoisting up the National Championship to a dark silhouette of the skyscappers in downtown Columbus. There was a gold chandelier illuminating from above. The floors were smoky; faded greys and whites. Alexis leaned into the grey couch with a black "VOVYAGERS" hat with the words in bold white letters, almost covering her eyes. Her long black hair were braided in pigtails. A white tank top and black leggings completed her look. Her eyes glare at the camera as she adjust in her seat, straightening her posture.]
Alexis: Yo.
[She presses her pointer and middle finger together before tapping her forehead saluting.]
Alexis: Yo. Cassie. You just had to pick the perfect time to drop the MPW TV belt. You could have put that on the line against me, you know. I would have beaten you for it, start making some trips to the UK, defend it there. Bring it back to the States and defend it here. Could have been fun.
[Alexis shrugs her shoulders.]
Alexis: Could have been fun. You had to expect that ROWEN and Vanessa was going to pull something, right? That's just wrestling 1 on 1. The way those two get down, you had to expect that ROWN and Vanessa was going to get dirty. I mean you tried pulling ROWEN's tights so you had some idea. You play with dirt, Cassie. You get dirty.
Or maybe you didn't. You were getting high on your own supply. Cassie Two Belts. TV belt in one hand, tag belt in the other. Super rookie right.
Oh well.
[Alexis' lips curl to the side. She brings her left hand to rest on the bottom of her chin.]
Alexis: All of this, the two titles, the match with ROWEN, stuff like that, didn't happen in SCW. So there's a section of people wondering what I'm talking about. But the world of pro wrestling is more than just SCW. Cassie is international. I'm ribbing her for over her belt but she's out here, wrestling in the UK and winning belts. She just got another gig in Pro Wrestling Apex. FFP. Conquest. These companies all over the world are lining up to put your pen to paper, Cassie. That doesn't happen if you're trash.
[Alexis reaches up with her right hand, grabbing the tip of her hat and pushing it upward a bit. Her brown eyes are revealed. Her facial expression is neutral with a wry smirk.]
Alexis: Thursday night, here in Columbus, you know. Breakdown. It's you and me. We've never been in the same ring but I feel like i know you. Have seen a lot of your matches. I'm a fan honestly. There's a lot of speed and quickness. Just seeing you whip off the ropes. Bombing people from the top. That 630 with the spin on it. Could never do anything like that. When you're on that turnbuckle, you got a lot of options. A lot in that toolbox. I watch some of these pre tapes of yours and you know, you got your chest puffed out and you got your girlfriends with you. It's cute.
[She snickers while wiping her nose.]
Alexis: When you were going at YUYU, yelling at her. I'M THE FUTURE OF PRO WRESTLING! I'LL CUT A BITCH! That sent me, honestly. It reminded me of this girl from San Francisco who use to collect daggers and be obsessed with Chucky. She use to ay all types of shit to people. Still does.
You do this long enough. You watch as much wrestling as I have and you last as long as I have and there comes a point where you see these mini versions of who you were when you were younger. In your profile pic on Twitter, that's basically my gear. Down to the long socks. I don't know if you're a fan of mine. You know, there's a lot of similarities. There's a lot of pride. Not many come from Australia. Wanting to represent your school. Hero Academy. I get it. Every step I take, the whole Bay Area is with me. I carry them with me. There was a lot of pride, for me, that I represented GG [Golden Gate Wrestling Academy].
[Alexis presses her lips together.]
Alexis: When I was 19 I thought I knew everything. I'm 30 now and I think I know everything. I can hear it with you. You're figuring shit out but you think you've learned a lot. You've learned. Sure. If I touch the hot stove and get burned, I learn not to touch it again. You went through the school, you're traveling the world, wrestling. And yet, Cassie, you still don't know shit.
[Alexis tightens her face.]
Alexis: There's a lot of rehearsing. Saying lines in front of the mirror. Trying to find the right match. I mean I use to do it too. Whatever sounded cool, I would just say it. Pint Sized Awesomeness. It just sounded like I was a bad ass and I ran with it.
Rebel Princess.
What's your war, solider?
[Alexis strokes her chin.]
Alexis: Your mug is everywhere in every promotion but you're fighting the man right? There's rooks I know in the Bay making shit. But these companies can't run fast enough to lock you down.
Rebel Princess.
[Alexis scoffs.]
Alexis: Yeah....yeah. Hungry like a wolfe.
Cool.
[Alexis smacks her lips.]
Alexis: It's all good now though, right? The honeymoon phase. You get signed. You get that first taste. You're making more money than you ever have and you're wrestling in front of thousands of people. There's millions that watch SCW every week. It goes real quick from nothing to something. What happens when the party ends??
[Her head tilts to the right. Her eyebrows narrow.]
Alexis: What happens when you taste some losses? When the book is out and everyone starts adjusting to how they wrestle you. And they take away all the stuff you want to do. I'll do you one better, what happens when shit doesn't get fun anymore and you know, maybe you get screwed over by someone you trust.
What happens then?
[Alexis rubs her face.]
Alexis: You were in high school, like, what? Two years ago. Jesus.
[Alexis shakes her head.]
Alexis: Fuck me.
[An incredulous expression appears on her face.]
Alexis: Fuck me. I don't know if you liked science class. I hated it unless we were blowing up shit or doing Einstein stuff with chemicals and what not. You ever see those little posters and it has...it has like the ecosystem, you know? And it just shows the cycle of everything. Well in pro wrestling, there is also an ecosystem. I' the middle child. Cassie. Not old enough to be considered a legend or past my prime. Not young enough to be called a rookie. I've done some things but I haven't done everything. And then underneath, there's wrestlers like you. Young, on the come up, looking to climb that ladder.
You go home to, what? You live with your parents still? I'm generally asking. Do you? I get the feeling from the way you talk life is great. You have no worries. No struggles. Good for you. I'm barely home. I'm either at a hotel a few days prior if I'm wrestling. Or I'm flying on my dime to go see live wrestling with my own eyes. Me and Angela always have the camera rolling. You know, VOYAGERS work and all that. Sometimes I'm in PR with Big Papi and I'm sleeping on the mats in his little school because first thing in the morning, I'm hitting the ring and I'm scrapping.
When i do go home, it's me, myself, the big screen where I watch more wrestling and the canvases I paint on to make money.
[Alexis throws her arms up.]
Alexis: That's what I do. That's what I choose to do. The last rookie I wrestled, I went in thinking I had it figured out. Oh Amelia Stone's gonna come after the arm. That sets up her finish. And then she went after my leg and then when I put her in the Jack in the Box, I didn't have enough to hold her and she flipped it on me.
[Alexis shakes her head.]
Alexis: You think you know and then pro wrestling reminds you you haven't learned shit. There is no such thing as half assed pro wrestlers. You're either in it or not. Through sickness and health. Through the highs and the lows. I've been the half assed wrestlers, jaded by everything. It sucked and I sucked in the ring. I've been all in and let a rookie get the best of me. Your lost your first title. I've lost the World title. I've lost best friends. In the ring. Out of the ring. One of my uncles just passed away. He had cancer and I told myself I was goin to see him. But I'm grinding the tape. I'm traveling the world. i'm training. i'm in the stands, watching wrestling.
I beat myself up a bit not making the time to go see him in the hospital. But this is what I chose. This is my life, really. This is what it is. And the best of the best Cassie, that's what it is. I've heard so many people say they're the future of the business. I heard Alex Young say that and he lasted like a few months. I heard Lexi Von Aaron say that she was the future and she lasted like two years. AJ Helms was basically the golden child and you can't find him to save your life.
