Kimberly Williams never had a personal grudge against Colleen. Not really. Sure, she had the Underground Championship, a title that Kimberly believes in her heart and soul rightfully belongs to her. But at the end of the day, despite any and all trash talk, The Woman Scorned just wanted a one on one shot at reclaiming her Underground Championship. It was nothing but professional as far as Williams was concerned. All Kim wanted was the opportunity to make history, to break the record and become a six time SCW Underground Champion. Colleen merely stood in her way and that was all there was to it. But Colleen made it personal by involving herself in Kim’s match against Syren, costing The Queen of the Death Match what would have been a hard earned victory. Now things have become personal and Kimberly has already taken things up a notch. She planted the reigning Underground Champion onto a bed of nails with the promise of even more violence to come when they face off at Retribution with the Underground Title on the line.
It has been a few days since Kimberly retaliated and brutalized Kim with the use of the bed of nails. The Woman Scorned is looking forward to her upcoming title match at Retribution, happy knowing that she doesn’t have to hold back, knowing that, since this is now personal, she can be as violent, brutal, and downright evil as humanly possible in her quest to recapture the gold. In the meantime, Kimberly is going to be taking care of other issues, tying up other loose ends in her life ahead of Retribution. One such loose end is an unbalanced woman with a criminal history; namely, Carol Johnson. Carol Johnson is the younger sister of the late Pamela Johnson, a young woman who was murdered. Kim’s uncle, Douglas Williams, is currently serving a life sentence for the murder but Kim, and Carol herself, believes that Kim’s biological father, the late Sean Williams, was the real culprit. Carol has long since held a grudge against Kimberly Williams and her family. Carol broke into the home of Kim’s identical twin sister, Marie Jones, and ransacked the place. Later Carol would burn Marie’s home down to the ground. Lastly Carol would stalk Kimberly while The Woman Scorned was out with her nephew Sean Jones. Carol would finally be arrested and convicted of breaking and entering, arson, assault, and sent to prison. Kimberly thought it was over with as far as Carol Johnson was concerned.
That changed when Kimberly decided to buy up properties and rent them at a cheap price to people in need of a place to stay. It was her way of trying to do some good in honor of her grandfather, the late Bart Jones. The Woman Scorned was ready to meet her first renter and, much to her surprise, the first renter was Carol Johnson. Kim learned that Carol got paroled and released on good behavior. Unfortunately, as it is with most ex-convicts, it is difficult to find anyone willing to take a chance on them due to their reputation. She needed a place to stay that had relatively cheap rent and she instantly saw Kimberly’s offer and jumped at it. But why? Why does Carol want to rent from a woman she hates? That answer is hard to discern. As far as Kim knows, Carol simply just wants to mess with her. Carol wants to play games with her. That may be the case. Carol has already made it abundantly clear that does not believe for one second that Kimberly has changed or that she is, in any way, different from her murderous uncle and father. One’s past is difficult to escape from, Kim knows this. She knows that the Williams family has a reputation and Kim herself as a reputation, having spent time in a mental hospital for her own deranged and unhinged crimes. But Kim is determined to prove that she is not that same monster her uncle and father turned out to be. She is determined to prove that she is no longer the monster that spent time locked up in the loony bin. People can change and Kim is determined to prove that even someone like her can change.
Right now Kimberly is doing something that most would consider a very unwise move and that is to make an unexpected visit to see Carol Johnson. When you are the landlord and the potential renter already hates you, most would not agree to rent out the home to begin with, and even if they did, they would avoid their renter as much as possible to avoid any negative confrontation. Yet Kim has never been known for doing the wisest of things or playing the most orthodox of games. Kimberly is driven by chaos, not just in her wrestling game but in her lifestyle as well. This is what brings her to the front door of the modest home in Boston, Massachusetts. The Woman Scorned may own this home but this is where Carol lives and she is about to give Ms. Johnson an unexpected, and likely unpleasant, surprise. Williams is dressed for the occasion in a black leather jacket that is slightly fitted, giving her a sleek and edgy appearance. Underneath the jacket, she wears a red and black plaid button-up shirt, which adds a relaxed and slightly rugged touch. She is also wearing dark-colored jeans. Her long, wavy red hair cascades over her shoulders. A confident smirk crosses her face as she casually knocks on the door. The Woman Scorned patiently waits. The wait is not a long one. The front door swings open and Carol is standing there, staring into Kim’s bright, smiling face. Carol, who wears a simple pair of loose fitting torn denim blue jeans, flip flops, and a fade white t-shirt, stares with wide eyed shock at seeing Williams there. That surprise turns into an angry glare very quickly.
“Go away.”
“Nice seeing you too!”
Carol slams the door shut in Kim’s face, which only prompts The Woman Scorned to laugh out loud and immediately knock again. Carol shortly opens the door again and, if possible, looks even angrier than before.
“I said go away!”
“You are not a very good host. You know that?” She smirks. “Didn’t you learn proper etiquette?”
“You think I’m crazy?” Carol sneers. “If I let you in, who knows what you might do to me?”
“Oh right, like I would really come all the way down here to hurt you, to brutalize you, right after I agreed to let you stay here at this home…” she winks playfully “...which is MY home, by the way. Don’t forget you are the renter and I am the great and all powerful LORD OF THE LAND!” She sighs. “I like the sound of that! Lord of the Land! That sounds better than landlord, don’t ya think?”
Go away.” Carol repeats and again tries to shut the door but this time Kim puts her foot out to stop the door from shutting completely. Carol groans and rolls her eyes. “Why won’t you just leave?”
“Well like I said, I am the landlord…or would that be landlady since I have lady parts?” She shrugs her shoulders. “Anyway, point is I own this place and I can legally be here. Not like you have a legal leg to stand on in terms of kicking me out.”
“But you are still invading my privacy!” She exclaims. “Didn’t you learn a damn thing about privacy growing up?”
“I learned that people tend to get irked when I show up uninvited. That’s why I like to do things like this.” She points and laughs. “Just to get that kind of reaction right there!”
“This is my home!” Carol exclaims angrily. “I’m paying you rent! The least I ask is some privacy from you!”
“And once again I am reminding you that I CAN be here.”
There is a tense staredown…well, tense from Carol’s end as she glares angrily at Kimberly. The Woman Scorned just keeps grinning like a clown, which only serves to irritate Carol Johnson even more. But Carol eventually realizes that Kim isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. She reluctantly steps aside and lets Kimberly enter the home. Williams crosses the threshold and Carol shuts the door behind her.
“Nice place you got here, Carol! Do you rent or own?” Kim asks playfully.
“Shut up and follow me.”
Kim grins as she follows Caroll into a living room area.
This isn’t the first time Kim has been here but it is the first time since Carol has had the chance to redecorate it for own tastes. She finds the walls are painted in a soft, neutral tone, complementing the light hardwood floors that stretch across the room. A comfortable gray fabric sofa sits against one wall. In front of it, a sleek wooden coffee table holds a small decorative tray with a candle, a stack of books, and a potted plant. A plush area rug in a subtle geometric pattern anchors the seating arrangement. Large windows let in plenty of natural light, dressed with sheer white curtains that allow for privacy without blocking the sun’s gentle glow. On the opposite wall, a simple media console made of warm-toned wood holds a flat-screen TV. A single floating shelf above the console displays a small collection of artwork and greenery. In one corner, a cozy reading nook is set up with a comfortable accent chair, a standing lamp, and a small side table. A few houseplants, carefully placed around the room, add a sense of life and freshness.
“I like what you’ve done with the place!” Kim walks over and jumps onto the gray sofa, sprawling out, taking up the entire area. “Very comfy and cozy!” Carol doesn’t immediately reply. She just rolls her eyes as she strolls over to the corner and sits down in the chair.
“What do you want?”
“My you are up front and abrasive today, aren’t you?” Kim asks playfully. “Didn’t I already mention something about being a good host and etiquette and all that jazz?”
“You know damn well what I mean.” Carol snaps back angrily. “What’s your agenda?”
“Oh, that…” Kim swings her legs over the side of the sofa and sits up “...you seem to know me so well, Carol. You automatically knew I had an agenda. Then again, you have your own agenda. It’s like we’re two peas in a pod!”
“We are not the same!” Carole exclaims. “I am nothing like you!”
“Keep telling yourself if it helps you sleep at night.” She winks. “But y’know, Carol, speaking of agendas, the only agenda I have is that I want to help people…” she motions to Carol “...people just like you.”
“Bullshit.”
“It’s true.” She nods her head. “See, I am willing to admit that once upon a time I was a monster. Hell, I’m even willing to admit that monster might still lurk somewhere underneath the surface. I am also willing to stare into the past, at the horrific reputation my uncle and my father created, and I am willing to own it. I am willing to stand up and admit that yes, I came from a murderer and monster and that I once was a monster myself. But I also know that I had a grandfather who was a good man who did good things who sacrificed so much just to see justice done. In my own way I want to honor my grandfather, that good man, and in turn maybe, just maybe, repair some of that damage my father did to the Williams family reputation. That’s why I am buying up properties and renting them cheap to people just like you, Carol, people who need a helping hand.”
“I don’t believe you.” Carol shakes her head. “Not for one minute. Your uncle is a murderer, your father was a murderer, and you are no different.”
“I’m not here to convince you.” Kim smirks. “But what does have me confused is YOU…” she points a finger at Carol “...you obviously still hate my guts, you still hold a grudge against me for what my father did, even though I had nothing to do with it.”
“He murdered my sister!”
“Perfectly understandable reason to still be pissed.” Kim states. “But if you really are still pissed off at me, if you still don’t trust me, why rent from me?” She asks curiously. “I mean, I can’t be the only person who had this brilliant idea of renting homes for dirt cheap.”
“Look…” Carol begins quietly “...you of all people should know what it is like, how difficult it is when you get out after being locked up.” She pauses for a moment. “Actually, come to think of it, you probably don’t know what it’s like do you? I have paid close attention to you and your career…”
“Don’t I know it.” Kim snickers. “All stalkerish and scary.”
“Shut it.” Carol snaps. “I know how insane you have been in Supreme Championship Wrestling. Is it true that you brought a god damn bed of nails to the ring and tried to put some poor girl on it?”
“Yeah…oh but don’t worry, she’s fine. Her obscenely large butt cheeks saved her from most of the damage.”
“See?! That! Stuff like that! You do things that would get most people barred from life from any and all kinds of sports! But you? You manage to survive! You keep your job! Hell, they even give you title shots for doing crazy shit like that!”
“Well anytime I do something crazy, I tend to generate ratings and hence money!” Kim says playfully.
“I think the real answer is that your mother is backstage advocating on your behalf, keeping your job safe.” Carol nods her head. “Yes, I know how much sway your other family, the Jones family, has in SCW.”
“You can think the worst of me if you want, I don’t really care.” Kim shakes her head. “But I am legitimately doing this to help people. I really do want to help people like you, Carol, whether you believe me or not.” She nods her head. “And yes, I get it. I understand that having a criminal record isn’t something you can hide from. It is difficult to get someone to hire you with a criminal record and thus it becomes difficult if not impossible to pay sky high rent without a decent paying job. I get the difficulties that come with being an ex-con. That’s why I’m doing this. To help you.”
“You talk as if you know me but you don’t.” Carol stands up. “You have no idea!”
“Carol…”
“Leave!” She shouts angrily. “Leave now!”
Kimberly wants to keep talking to Carol. She was once like Carol, full of rage and hate directed at a society that she believed wronged her. But Kim can tell that Carol is not ready to listen to reason, at least not yet. She rises up off of the sofa and walks away. Retreat, today, is the better option. There will be another time and another day to confront Carol. Kim is not ready to give up just yet.

It has been twenty-four hours since Kimberly Williams had her confrontation with Carol Johnson. It went about as well as Kim expected it would; Carol got angry, kept getting angrier, and eventually threw her out. Yes, Kimberly could have pressed the issues, she could have continued to pressure Carol on what was really bothering her, but even Kimberly has her limits. Even Kimberly knows when she needs to lay off and give someone like Carol some breathing room. The fact is, whether Carol is willing to admit it or not, she and Kimberly really are a lot alike. Both had troubled lives that led to a life of crime. Kimberly’s crimes included stalking, assault, and kidnapping which put her in a mental asylum. Carol, on the other hand, was convicted of stalking, arson, and assault which landed her in prison. Both women got a lucky second chance to get out early, a chance to change their lives. Williams was lucky to have people on her side to help her find her way out of the darkness of her past; people like Larry Dempsey and her identical twin sister Marie Jones. Unfortunately it seems that Carol has no one. Her sister is dead, so is her mother. Carol has no real friends or any other family that Kimberly is aware of. And with that rage and bitterness still there boiling up within her, Kim is worried that Carol will one day snap. She fears that Carol will get herself into trouble and go back to prison, this time for much longer.
Why does Kimberly care? That is a good question that even Kim doesn’t have the answer to. She understands why Carol is angry with her; Kim’s father (or uncle) murdered her sister. With her uncle in prison and her father dead, the only one left to get revenge against is Kimberly herself. That kind of logic is what once drove Kimberly. She feels that sense of empathy and connection to Carol and maybe that’s why she feels as if she needs to help her? She sees a lot of herself in Carol Johnson. Yet Carol still is driven by hate and what might happen to Kimberly if she presses her luck with a hate-filled, unhinged woman like Carol? Most would leave Carol alone, let her get into trouble, and then let the authorities deal with her. But Kimberly cannot bring herself to just leave it alone. She feels that she must do something.
This weighs on the mind of The Queen of the Death Match as she sits out on her patio alongside her identical twin sister, “The Phoenix” Marie Jones. Nestled behind the house, it features a smooth, gray stone paver floor and a sleek wooden privacy fence, stained a rich walnut brown, that encloses the space, providing both seclusion and warmth against the backdrop of the city. String lights drape across the space, casting a soft glow, while a few potted plants including ferns, succulents, and a small Japanese maple that add a touch of greenery without overwhelming the area.
“You really have a nice place here, Kim.” Marie says with an obvious note of awe. She is really impressed with this new place her sister is living after she was already given the grand tour earlier. “I kinda pictured you one day staying at a home slightly more upscale than your old one…”
“In fairness a cardboard box was more upscale than my old home.” Kim says with a knowing grin.
“This is true.” Marie nods her head. “But I never pictured you with a patio!”
“Eh, it was Tommy’s idea. He likes being outdoors and thought this would be good to host friends and family and all that crap.”
“Speaking of Tommy, where is he?”
“He’s working out.” Kim smirks.”He wants to stay in shape even though I can’t convince him to get back in the ring.”
“The wrestling world certainly misses him.”
“I know but I can’t get him to budge his fat bearded butt back into any wrestling ring!”
“Keep trying.” Marie says. “But uh, how are you enjoying the new living conditions?”
“It’ll take some getting used to.” Kim shrugs her shoulders. “It kinda makes me feel dirty a little right now, almost as if I’m selling out who I really am.”
“That’s crazy talk, I hope you realize that.”
“Tell that to Caligula.” Kim remarks. “He enjoyed watching the cockroaches and flea infested rats scampering all over the house!”
“I’m sure he did.” Marie chuckles, rolling her eyes.
“But you know what I love most about this place?” Kim says, her face lighting up. “The basement! It is such a huge basement! I have plenty of space for all of my devices of torture and torment! A great space to prepare myself for all of the beautiful violence of the SCW Underground Division!”
“I’m sure you’re planning on making good use of that now that you finally got your one on one shot against Colleen.” Marie says. “You better not mess this up, Kim. You never know how often opportunities like this will come.”
“I know, I know.” Kim says dismissively. “Trust me, I got this one. Colleen made a big mistake by making this one personal. She made a huge mistake by screwing with me. Retribution is going to be oh so much fun…for me at least, not so much for her…when we go to war, when we bleed, and when I reclaim my Underground Title for a record setting sixth time!”
“Well I wish you luck on that, sis.” Marie says. “I know how bad you want that record all to yourself as opposed to sharing it. But what about your side gig?”
“Side gig?”
“Don’t play innocent.” Marie snickers. “You know what I’m talking about. I know all about you dipping your toes into real estate.”
“Oh that!” Kim’s eyes light up. “My real estate agent has helped me buy up several properties, not too expensive but also not low scale slums, either. And her name is Kimberly too! Isn’t that cool?!”
“Yeah…I’m sure you loved that.” Marie laughs. “You know, Kim, I had my doubts at first but I really think what you’re doing here is a good thing. You are going to get to help a lot of people who are down on their luck. I’m proud of you.”
“Thanks! But you might want to reserve your pride until after you hear about my first renter…”
“Oh?” Marie arches her brow. “You already have someone renting?”
“Yup and you know her.”
“Who is it?” Marie asks curiously.
“Carol.”
“Carol…” Marie furrows her brow as she thinks for a few moments, tries to think about anyone named Carol that she knows, and then her eyes light up with a hint of fear “...wait, you don’t mean Carol Johnson do you?”
“The one and only.”
“Are you insane?!” Marie is beginning to freak out. She shakes her head. “You cannot let her stay in one of your places.”
“You’re overreacting, as usual.” Kim scoffs. “It’ll be fine.”
“Like hell it will!” Marie exclaims. “Need I remind you that she broke into my house and ransacked it before eventually burning it to the ground? Need I remind you that she stalked you when you had MY SON with you? Need I remind you that she assaulted you when my son was present?”
“Yeah, yeah, I know all about that.” Kim says dismissively. “But need I remind you that I once kidnapped you and held you hostage for a month while I stole your identity and tried to ruin your reputation?” Kim smirks. “I’m not exactly a saint, Marie. Yet here we are, loving sisters with a bond stronger than ever.”
“That’s different.”
“How?” Kim asks. “How is it different? You gave me a chance. No one else in our family gave me a chance, not even our mother. You had to convince the family that I had changed. Now all is right in the land of Jones.”
“So wait…” Marie tilts her head to the side, studying Kim “...are you suggesting that Carol wants to change? That she wants to turn her life around?”
“I think so, yes.” Kim nods her head. “She just needs someone to give her a chance and to help her.”
“Does she even want your help?” Marie asks with a healthy dose of skepticism in her voice. “Last I heard she hated us for something OUR FATHER did.”
“Yeah, unfortunately that part hasn’t changed much.” Kim sighs.
“So she still hates your guts? And yet you still insist on doing this, trying to help her?”
“Yep.” Kim nods her head, grinning from ear to ear.
“I think you’re crazy.”
“Nothing new then.” Kim snickers knowingly. “I am and always have been Crazy Kim.”
“Yes, and that’s what most people love about you, myself included.” Marie says. “But this might be too dangerous even for you. Carol is unhinged. Be careful.”
Kim nods her head. The words of warning from her twin sister ring true. Carol Johnson is a dangerous person. Her attacks on Marie’s property, the arson, it was intended to harm Marie, not simply to send a message. Carol had intended to harm Kim and maybe even Kim’s nephew Sean. Carol claims she wants to turn her life around and Kim would like to be a part of that. It would be ironic that the daughter of the man who allegedly murdered her sister is the one who ends up getting her back on the right path. But she has to be willing to accept the help. Is she willing?

Breakdown has long since concluded and now the next stop is Retribution. Kimberly Williams is less than a week away from finally receiving her one one one shot at the SCW Underground Championship. The Woman Scorned has had Underground Title matches before but this one was special. This one meant much more to her because this wasn’t just about reclaiming a championship she felt she was cheated out of and never was given a fair shot at recapturing, this isn’t about proving that she still runs the Underground Division, this is more than just that. This is Kimberly’s chance to make history; she is currently tied with Rachel Foxx as having five Underground Title reigns each. If Kimberly can defeat Colleen and become champion again, she will own that record all by herself with an unprecedented six Underground Title wins. That is what this is about for The Woman Scorned. Her name is already synonymous with this division. But she wants there to be zero doubts in anyone’s mind as to who the greatest Underground wrestler of all time is. But to eliminate all doubt she must defeat Colleen, she must win that title for a sixth time. Kimberly cannot accept anything except absolute victory.
Underground Championship aspirations are not the only things dwelling within the crazed mind of the Queen of the Death Match and proving her worth as the greatest Underground wrestler in SCW history isn’t her only objective in life. Ever since she learned about the background of her grandfather, Bart Jones, she has felt a longing to use her own Jones family wealth to help people who desperately need it. Kim had a plan to buy up modest properties and rent them out dirt cheap to people who otherwise would not be able to afford anything. She was warned about the possibility of dealing with shady characters with this noble mission of hers, but in typical Kim fashion she ignored the warnings. Now she finds herself in the most awkward of circumstances: she is landlord to Carol Johnson, the young woman whose sister Paula was murdered by Kim’s uncle Douglas Williams or, more likely, by Kim’s father Sean Williams. The same Carol Johnson who, in a blind rage and bent on revenge, tried to seriously harm Kim and her family and spent time in prison as a result. Carol got released for good behavior and needed a place to stay. She chose to rent from Kimberly for reasons that still boggle the mind. She could have chosen anywhere else with cheap rent; why Kim? Why intentionally choose to work with someone you deeply despise? It’s a question that Kim would like to know the answer to sooner rather than later. Before she can get those answers and before she can even turn her entire focus over to the upcoming violent Underground war with Colleen Macdonald at Retribution, The Woman Scorned has one other important date that she has to keep.
The bus came to a slow, wheezing stop at the curb, its headlights cutting through the damp Baltimore night. The doors slowly opened up and Kimberly Williams stepped down onto the cracked sidewalk, her worn sneakers landing with a soft scrape against the pavement. The streets were mostly empty, save for the occasional car rolling by. The Queen of the Death Match is dressed in faded jeans and an oversized hoodie with the SCW logo printed on the front. She stuffed her hands into the pocket of the hoodie and then glanced up at the neon sign buzzing in the darkness ahead. The Waffle House sat at the edge of a mostly deserted parking lot, its large front windows glowing with a dull yellow light, inviting yet oddly sterile beneath the flickering red letters above the door. This has become her ritual and nothing will keep her from it; not Colleen Macdonald, not Carol Johnson, nothing and nobody. Williams approaches the Waffle House with slow but steady pace until she gets to the doors. She pushed open the glass door, the small bell above jingling weakly, and stepped inside. The air smelled of coffee, grease, and syrup. The Waffle House was silent except for the low hum of an overhead vent and the occasional sizzle from the griddle behind the counter. A faint radio played somewhere in the back. The fluorescent lights overhead buzzed with a tired hum, casting a slightly sickly hue over the white walls and faded menus taped to the counter. The place was nearly empty, save for the lone cook behind the counter, who barely looked up from wiping a grease-streaked spatula, and a single customer seated in one of the booths by the window. Kimberly’s eyes landed on him immediately.
“Larrrrrry!” Kim says with exaggerated excitement. She waves playfully to get his attention.
The man, Kim’s friend from their shared days in the mental asylum, is Larry Dempsey. He sat hunched over a steaming cup of coffee, his large hands wrapped around the ceramic like he was absorbing its warmth. His brown hair was slightly disheveled and his face shadowed with stubble. A worn leather jacket stretched across his broad shoulders. His boots, planted firmly on the checkered tile floor, also looked well worn. He looks up at Kim and smiles.
“Ah, Kimberly, you are finally here.”
“How come you always get here so early?” She asks playfully from across the restaurant.
“Wrong. I arrive on time.” He points a finger at Kim. “You are always late.”
“Blame the bus driver.” Kimberly moved toward Larry’s booth, her footsteps light on the linoleum, her presence barely disturbing the stillness of the room. As she slid into the seat across from him, she exhaled slowly, sinking into the cracked vinyl.
“I must admire you for keeping our regular meeting, my friend.” Larry says as he sips his coffee. Kim just chuckles.
“What? And miss this?” She scoffs. “Never!”
“But you do have an important match at Retribution? You are facing that woman, Colleen Macdonald, for the Underground Title. That is important to you, is it not? I thought…”
“You thought I would skip out on this to focus just on her fat ass?” She snickers. “Nah! I mean, the title is important to me, making history is important to me, proving that I STILL run that division is important to me, but I’ve learned that sometimes there are more important things than just material gain.”
“How mature of you.” Larry chuckles.
Mature or not, this is one routine, one tradition, that Kimberly doubts she will ever give up. She and Larry have always been there for each other from their days in the psychiatric ward. When they were released they swore to keep up with one another, to make certain that the other was still making progress and hadn’t ‘fallen off the wagon’ so to speak. True to form they have maintained their regular meetings like this and have always kept the other honest. It has proven beneficial to both of them and their sanity.
One of the servers stops by the table, and without having to even utter a word, drops off a cup of coffee, black, in front of Kimberly. Her and Larry’s regular meetings are so common now that this staff at Waffle House know them by name and know their order. Kim nods her head in appreciation as the server walks off. She sips her coffee and then turns her attention back to Larry.
“Sooooo,” she begins, drawing it out playfully “the last time, if I recall, you were having trouble with those voices? They kept making you go stark raving mad.”
“That’s one way of putting it.” Larry remarks.
“Well? How are you coping?” She asks. “I know we finally got you to see a new doc, my family’s doctor to be specific, and she put you on new medication. Is it working?”
“Indeed it is.” He nods his head. “The voices have ceased and have yet to return.”
“Great.” Kim says. “But if they ever do come back, tell the good doctor and don’t try any of that creepy voodoo magic you were performing on yourself.”
“I never performed voodoo.” He sighs with a sense of shame at how he acted back then. “Actually, I believe voodoo was the only practice I DID NOT engage in to try and solve my problems.”
“Point is, see the doctor if you relapse. No home remedies.” Kim snickers.
“What about you?” Larry asks. “At our last meeting you told me everything that you learned from your excursion into Europe and your research into your late grandfather’s past. Did you ever follow up on that?”
“I did.” Kim grins knowingly.
“Don’t keep me waiting.” Larry says. “What did you decide?”
“Well I learned that my grandfather, Bart Jones, helped people. Now while I may be very different from him and that I may not have the exact same spotless record he did, I can still help people in my own way. And I have been inspired to help people who are down on their luck, the poor and the needy, anyone who just needs a helping hand, and I am going to help them by providing decent to modest living conditions for dirt cheap rent.”
“Real estate, eh?” Larry says. “How generous of you.”
“Eh, it isn’t as cool as the kinda stuff my grandfather did but I’ll do what I can.”
“It is very noble, Kimberly, that’s all that matters.” He chuckles. “You can leave the danger to your forray into the SCW’s Underground division and your title match against Ms. Macdonald at Retribution.”
“Eh, maybe,” Kim shrugs her shoulders “but to tell you the truth, I think this real estate idea of mine has its own perils.”
“Oh?” Larry puts his coffee cup down. He arches his brow out of curiosity. “Has something happened?”
“My first tennant is an old enemy of the family.”
“Your family are semi-celebrities being that they are professional wrestlers, yourself included. It is expected that you would make enemies. Plus your grandfather, in his own line of work as a CIA operative no doubt made enemies. He…”
“Whoa, whoa, hold up a sec, Lawrence of Arabia,” Kim shakes her head “this isn’t an enemy of the Jones family. This is an enemy of my dad’s, the Williams family. Her name is Carol Johnson.”
“Carol Johnson?” Larry shakes his head. “I don’t believe you told me about her.”
“That’s because I didn’t even find out about her until long after the two of us were out of the loony bin, Larry.” She winks. “Look, as you already know, my uncle is serving a life sentence in prison for multiple homicides. He was a serial killer. One of the murders he got convicted of was the murder of Paula Johnson…Carol’s sister.”
“I see why she might hold a grudge.”
“There’s more.” Kim sighs. “My uncle says he wasn’t acting alone, that his brother, MY FATHER, was in on the string of killings. Between the two, they murdered a lot of young girls in the state of Massachusetts, and my uncle can’t remember which of them murdered Paula. He thinks it might have been Sean.”
“But your uncle took the fall for all of the murders.”
“Right, he took the fall to protect my dad.” Kim nods her head. “Carol has been pissed off ever since and is convinced that justice was never served and, if my dad really was the one who killed her sister like she thinks, then she’s right. Justice never was served.”
Kim is quiet. Eerily quiet. Larry can tell that Kim is upset, which is unusual for her. He reaches out and takes her hands and squeezes them tightly.
“You are not your father. You know this.”
“I know. It still doesn’t make me feel any less guilty over the fact that here I am, and my sister Marie, the last two surviving daughters of Sean Williams. We are living the dream. We travel the world, wrestling everywhere. I have a title shot at Retribution. Carol lost her sister, then her mother, and then she spent time in prison for trying to exact revenge upon me and Marie. Now she’s out and she’s barely surviving because no one wants to give an ex-con a chance.”
“If this woman hates you so much, why would she want to rent from you? Why would she want to rent from the daughter of the man who murdered her sister?”
“I have no clue.” Kim shrugs her shoulders. “She says she is trying to turn her life around and needs somewhere to stay for cheap. I know there are other places she could stay for cheap but she insists on staying at mine. I don’t get it.”
“There could be another motive.” Larry suggests.
“I wish I knew what it was.” Kim shakes her head. “All I DO know is that my sister thinks I’m crazy for helping her. What do you think? Am I crazy?”
“We both spent time locked up in a mental institution, Kimberly.” He grins. “What do you think?”
“You made a joke!” Kim says excitedly. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard you make a joke!”
“There is a first time for everything.”
Seriously though.” Kim insists. “Am I crazy for trying to help Carol?”
“I can see why your sister would be concerned. There is a danger. Yet, at the same time, it is never healthy to hold grudges. Peace, at the end of day, should always be the goal. So if you ask me, I think you are doing the right thing.”
“I agree.” Kim nods her head. “Hatchets must always be buried…just hopefully not in each other’s skull.” Kim winks playfully at Larry.
Her words are light hearted and playful, meant to be taken as a joke. Yet Kim also knows how serious they are. She wants to bury the hatchet, metaphorically, with Carol. But Carol is unhinged enough that she may try to bury the hatchet in Kim’s skull if she is not careful.

It has been two days since Kimberly met and had her regular meeting with Larry Dempsey. These meetings are healthy for the both of them because it keeps them honest, it keeps them from falling back into their old ways. For Kimberly, this particular meeting was beneficial as she went in with some doubts about how she should deal with Carol Johnson going forward. Part of Kimberly wanted to help Carol and yet another part could see the very real danger of helping someone as unhinged as Carol Johnson. Carol had already tried to hurt Kim and her family on several occasions, what would possibly stop her from trying to hurt them again? Letting Carol be that close to Kim, allowing her such access to Kim and her life, that is dangerous. Yet Larry’s words rang true; holding grudges is never healthy and one should always strive for peace. Marie and the rest of the Jones family may question the wisdom behind Kimberly’s actions, but The Woman Scorned realizes that this is the right thing to do. Helping Carol is the right thing to do and she will do whatever it takes to get through to Carol and help her. That is one burden, one question, that will no longer weigh heavily on the mind of The Woman Scorned. She now knows what to do, what she will do. She can finally relax and refocus on the other important task before her: defeating Colleen Macdonald and capturing her record setting sixth SCW Underground Championship. Kimberly currently is tied for the record but she wants to own it all by herself. She must defeat Colleen to have that distinction. She must defeat Colleen to settle, once and for all, that Kimberly Williams still runs the SCW Underground Division and is the best wrestler in the history of the Underground Division. Retribution will be her chance, her opportunity. But for now she is awake in bed wearing a pink unicorn onesie and reading a rather thick book. Her boyfriend, Tommy Wasley, is tucked under the covers next to her and is fast asleep, seemingly without a care in the world…
…that all comes to a screeching halt when a loud crashing noise is heard. Kimberly doesn’t even flinch, she continues reading her book, completely unbothered by the loud crash outside. Tommy, on the other hand, is startled and sits right up in bed with wide eyes and perhaps a look of fear on his face.
“What the bloody hell was that?!” He asks. Kim doesn’t answer. Tommy looks over and finds Kim is ignoring him, and the noise apparently, as she continues to read. “Kim…love…what was that?!”
“Huh?”
“Didn’t you hear that noise?”
“Eh, maybe, I’ve been reading.”
“Reading?!” Tommy exclaims. “That was loud! And it sounded close! What if someone is trying to break in?!”
“No one is trying to break in.” Kim sighs as she places her book down and sits up.
“How do you know?”
“No one broke into the house.” Kim insists. “Someone TRIED to break into the house but got caught in my booby trap.” She snickers. “Heh…I said booby…”
“Wait a sec…” Tommy furrows his brow “...you set traps?”
“Yep.”
“Just like at your old place?”
“Yep and they are all over the property.” She grins knowingly. “You can take the psycho out of the hood but you can’t take the hood out of the psycho…or something like that…” she sighs and then pulls herself out of bed “...I’ll go check and see who we’re gonna have for dinner tomorrow night.”
“Real funny.” Tommy smirks. “But seriously, tell me where all these traps are located, babe? I don’t want to accidentally step into one.”
“I promise.”
Kim walks over to the closet and opens it. She looks inside and pushes some clothes out of the way to get a better look at her ‘toys’; she spots Wasley, her beloved yet deadly lead weight filled penguin plushie. She spots the infinity gauntlet that she oftentimes uses as a substitute for brass knuckles. Then she grins from ear to ear as she spots next to the infinity gauntlet a glove with knives on the end of each finger. She picks it up and places it on her right hand.
“Ah, there you are! Come along, Betty White, we got work to do!”
“Don’t murder anyone!” Tommy says as Kim walks off with ‘Betty’ in tow. She exits the bedroom and immediately heads down the hall. The closer she gets to the front door the louder she can hear the commotion from outside. It is obvious that whoever got caught up in her trap is struggling to break free. Kimberly opens the front door and cautiously steps outside. She turns to the right and starts laughing out loud as she spots Carol Johnson there laying trapped in a big heavy net.
“Not a catfish, not tuna…” she points down at Carol using one of Betty’s knives “...it’s a crappy!”
“Shut up!” Carol exclaims. “What lunatic lays traps like this?!”
“What lunatic sneaks around someone’s home at night like this?” She winks. “Obviously you haven’t let go of the past…” she pauses “...unless you’re here to pay rent, which I would find very unusual to be paying rent at one o’clock in the morning…but if that’s the case I apologize and will gladly take your money.”
“Shut up!” Carol repeats herself, getting more agitated as she tries to free herself from the net. “I’m not here to hurt you! I just think you’re up to no good! I don’t believe you’re being honest! I don’t think you’ve changed one bit!”
“Oh I get it.” Kim snickers. “So you’re being a good detective and you’re gonna try and sniff out my true motivation, aren’t ya?”
“Yes!”
“So that’s why you wanted to rent from me?” Kim asks. “You just wanted to get close enough to me so that you could try and dig up dirt on me, see if I was doing something low down and dirty? Something rotten and evil like my dad or uncle?”
“Yes!”
“Well at least that explains everything.” Kim sighs as she leans down Betty White. Carol braces herself for the worst, assuming that Kim means to kill her with the sharp blades. Instead Kim just cuts the net and frees Carol. “Unfortunately you got me all wrong. I really am trying to be a better person and I really am trying to do good and help people just like you and I would like to help YOU specifically, Carol.”
“Liar!” Carol shouts.
“If you don’t believe me then go inside.” She motions to the open front door. “Go ahead and snoop. I won’t even call the police on you…I never was going to call the police anyway….but I do admire your breaking and entering skills.” She flashes a thumbs up to Carol.
“You’re lying…” she shakes her head “...you’re bluffing.” Carol insists. “There’s another trap in there, right?”
“Sure. Tons of them.” Kim grins. “But if you give me a second I’ll disable them all and give you free reign to snoop around so that you can satisfy yourself that I have no ulterior motive.”
“No…” Carol shakes her head “...just no…”
“Not interested?”
“I don’t know what your game is, Kim, but I am going to figure it out.” Carol shakes her head. “Even if it kills me.”
“No one wants to see you die, Carol.” Kim’s voice grows serious. “Just leave…but I am being serious when I say that I want to help you. I believe that you want to change and I want to help you do that. Just let me…”
“Forget it.”
With that, Carol turns and walks away. Kim remains standing there in silence, watching as Carol walks off. She knows that this incident would prove Marie right, that this was a bad idea, that letting Carol run loose was a bad idea. Kim knows she could nip this problem in the bud by just telling the police and getting Carol locked up for good. But Kim cannot bring herself to do that. Carol needs help and the right thing to do is to help her.

The camera begins to roll. We are outside on a bright Boston, Massachusetts day. A horse slowly trots into view from the right. As if the horse wasn’t enough of a surprise, the rider herself is another surprise; it is Kimberly Williams. The Woman Scorned is wearing a light-colored cowboy hat with a slightly curved brim. Her long, wavy red hair cascades down her shoulders, partially framing her face. She has on a light blue denim button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled down to her wrists, tucked neatly into her fitted blue jeans. Over the shirt, she is wearing a brown leather vest with a structured fit, featuring a row of buttons down the front and small pockets on either side. A brown leather belt with a decorative buckle secures her jeans, adding to the Western look and feel. Dangling from the side of the horse is her beloved penguin plushie Wasley, who also adorns a cowboy hat, albeit much smaller than Kim’s for obvious reasons. The Woman Scorned hops off of the horse and then detaches Wasley the penguin. Kimberly grins at the camera.
“Surprise! I bet you didn’t expect to see a horse ride up on in here did you? And I bet you didn’t know I could ride a horse, did you? You will find that I am full of surprises. Hell, I might even ride ol’ Joshua here right on into Retribution! Aint that right, Joshua?” Kimberly smacks the horse on its backside and it lets out a whinny. She snickers.
“I felt that since Retribution will take place in San Antonio, Texas, the site of the Alamo, that I should look the part for a good old fashioned Texas showdown! I mean, that’s what Texas is known for, right? Cowboys and fights! This fight at Retribution, this Underground war between me and Colleen Mickie D’s, it just might become as legendary as the Battle of the Alamo itself! You DO know about the Alamo, right Colleen? Do you…remember the Alamo?” She laughs. “Sorry! I couldn’t help myself! But anyway, yeah, the Alamo was a victory for the Mexican forces but it became a rallying cry, a symbol for Texas independence, because Texas would use that moment in time, that historic defeat, as motivation for their revolution. This battle between you and I at Retribution could have a similar impact for you…it could…” she winks knowingly “...but will it?”
“While we’re talking history let’s backtrack to Under Attack. The Elimination Chamber for the SCW Underground Championship where you got lucky, where you won the championship on a fluke.” Williams nods her head. “That’s right, a fluke. Now you will likely point out how you eliminated me but don’t leave out the fine little detail that it took your fat ass AND YUSA to pin me. It took TWO OF YOU to cover me to keep me down! So have you beaten the Queen of the Death Match straight up? Have you beaten me one on one? No, you have not, and those are the sad facts of your championship reign. If you want more sad facts I can give ‘em to you; you have had only one true test as Underground Champion and that was against Brittany Lohan. And I will give you credit for that one.” She holds up one finger.
“But that’s just ONE significant title defense as champion. Me? Since October of 2021 I have held this division on lockdown. It doesn’t matter whether I have had the title or not, for over three years I have sat on the throne of the Underground, as Queen of this division, because when the pressure is on, I always rise to the top and no one has been able to stop me. Deanna Frost…Owen Cruze…James Evans…they all tried, none of them could keep me down for long. I always fought my way back to the top. There would be those who would have their time in the spotlight…Lucas Knight, Konrad Raab…but their time came to an end when I decided it would end, because with or without the championship, this division belongs to me. No one can lay claim to the throne of the Underground without going through me first.”
“You won the title in the chamber, you got lucky. You beat another Underground legend in Brittany Lohan. But face facts, Colleen, if you want your championship reign to truly mean something, if you really want to be the one true Queen of the Underground, then you need to step up to the plate and knock me down. You need to do what the others who came before you failed to do and that is to defeat me clean, straight up, on your own. You need to do what YUSA did in Dusseldorf. You need to go Kimmy’s school of the Underground. You need to endure my harsh lessons and survive the violence that only I can bring to the table. That’s what YOU need out of this. But me?” Kimberly laughs again but this time it is far more menacing.
“At first, sweetie, it was just business…nothing more…you thought I took it personal but you were wrong. It was never personal for me, not at first. You see, all I wanted from day one was to get a fair one on one shot at the Underground Title. Ever since I lost it back in the build to Rise To Greatness, no one ever bothered to grant me a one on one rematch. Light in the Darkness got a one on one rematch against Twisted & Sadistic for the tag titles. Selena got her one on one rematch for the SCW World Title just for existing. But me? I have had two opportunities to regain my title…at Rise To Greatness I had to fight three idiots and then at Under Attack I had to fight five people in the chamber. Needless to say there is a lot of angst and frustration built up, but I wasn’t going to take it out on you. I just wanted a one on one rematch. I also wanted the opportunity to make history. Being tied with Rachel Foxx at five reigns apiece is great, but I want the record for most Underground Title wins all to myself. I want to win number six and to do that I need to put you down, Colleen. It wasn’t personal. It was just business.” Williams shakes her head and then points a finger at the camera.
“But you went and made a huge mistake. You went and screwed yourself over in a big way by costing me an opportunity to humiliate and humble Syren in the center of the ring. You cost me that match, you big assed bitch, and now what was just simply business has become personal. And as if that wasn’t enough, you had the nerve to question my drive and motivation? You say that I am the disappointment and failure of the Jones family? Do you really think that was a smart move? All you did was dig your own grave by making this personal. You went and made it personal and why? Why on earth would you want to piss off a psychopath?” She shrugs her shoulders. “Did you get offended because of something I said? Get over it. Or did you just snap because you secretly know that I speak the truth and that everyone else knows that I speak the truth? Deep down inside you know that you do NOT run the Underground. Deep down inside you know that you are NOT the best in the Underground. Deep down inside you know that title belt is just a trinket. It is a trinket that you are keeping warm for me. You do not OWN IT and you do not DESERVE IT until you have survived and beaten the Queen of the Death Match. You know all of that to be true and that’s why you interrupted my match against Syren. That’s why you went and ran your damn mouth. That’s why you went and made this personal.”
“Unfortunately, this means that you have to pay the consequences for your actions. You see, Mickie D’s, I was just going to take you to school. Like I took YUSA to school and Alexis Quinne before her to see if they were ready for the Underground, that’s what I was going to do to you. After all, I just needed to beat you. That was it. All I needed to do was beat you and become a six time Underground Champion But now that you went and pissed me off I am going to take my violence, my barbarity, my bloodlust up an entirely new level. If you are so damn offended by my words and you want to prove me wrong, then you will get the full chaotic violent experience of the Queen of the Death Match at Retribution. I am going to rip you to sheds. I am going to maim you, bloody you, and leave you for dead in San Antonio.” Williams snickers knowingly.
“Remember the Alamo…Texas suffered a major defeat in San Antonio but that defeat motivated them to continue their revolution towards victory. What you did to me in costing me my victory over Syren only served to motivate me…it reminded me of who the hell I am and what I need to do to you at Retribution in order to become a history making six time Underground Champion. I need to go back to that dark place, I need to once again become the most evil, vile, sadistic bitch to lace up a pair of boots. And I need to show no mercy towards you. I need to do whatever it takes, I need to stoop to the lowest of lows, show as much malice as humanly possible, in order to make sure that your shoulders stay on the mat for the three count, that you give up, or maybe just make sure you are unable to walk out of San Antonio under your own power.” Williams points a finger at the camera.
“And you only have yourself to blame…because this was just business for me. I wanted to make history. I wanted to have the record for most Underground Title reigns all to myself. You honestly believe that I am running from the other championships, from the main event scene? Newsflash, you big ass bitch, if I wanted the SCW World Championship I could clear the entire division myself. Selena, Xander, and Waylon all could be face down in the gutter and I would be the champ. I could have it anytime I want. But I do not want it right now. I have a personal goal that I want to achieve and that is to make history. I want that sixth Underground Title reign. I want it all to myself. And you happen to be standing in my way. That’s why I targeted you. But you went and pissed me off, you went and made this personal. Now I’m not just going to defeat you and take the title away from you, I’m going to end you. I am going to end the fraud that is Colleen Macdonald once and for all. And you are to blame…because you have no damn clue of what you have awakened. You woke up the worst, deadliest, most evil version of Kimberly Williams. That’s why everyone will remember the Alamo as the final night of Colleen Macdonald in Supreme Championship Wrestling.”
She reattaches Wasley the penguin to the horse. She carefully climbs back up onto the saddle and takes the reins. She turns to face the camera one last time. “Colleen…I am going to ride into San Antonio and I will not leave without the SCW Underground Championship back in my possession. I will be a six time champ, I will take back what is mine, and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it, because this time I will do ANYTHING IT TAKES TO WIN!” Williams gets the horse a gentle kick and it starts to trot away with Kimberly riding on its back. The camera fades to black.
