We then see a shot of Katie Steward holding the Women’s Championship before cutting to a shot of Selena Frost hitting Vixen Cain with the Defying Gravity at Supreme Saturday: Just Desserts.
“The leading force in sports and entertainment today....”

Shots of Deanna Frost, Ryan LeCavalier, Waylon Creek, Xander Valentine, and Syren are shown before the Breakdown logo comes up on the screen.
We then cut to a live shot of the inside of the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The crowd cheers as pyro shoots out from the base of the stage. The display continues for a few moments before spotlights circle the arena, and the cameras pan across the crowd for a few moments.
Sharper: “On the final stop before Taking Hold of the Flame, SCW rolls into Atlanta, Georgia!”
The cameras continue to pan the crowd before we cut to ringside and the announce position where Adam Sharper and Jonathan Knots sit.
Sharper: “Welcome to ringside everyone. Adam Sharper. Jonathan Knots. We’re here to call all of the action and several major stars in action tonight. Many could have Taking Hold of the Flame implications.”
Knots: “Syren will be action tonight against Clyde Sutter. After Sutter attempted to attack her, fate apparently intervening, they’ll clash and the Cowgirls from Hell are here. Each involved in Taking Hold of the Flame too.”
Sharper: “And Selena Frost will face Dante Slayton. Both in the Flame too. Plus, we know Fall of Man and after last week, will they have a response to Xander Valentine who managed to get a good shot in on Giovanni Aries and it led to some tempers flaring. We’ll also get an update on ‘Ronin’ Chris Dumont-“
Knots: “We’ll see if he’s out with David Striker later when he faces Glory Braddock!”
The arena is quiet, with a palpable sense of expectancy in the air as the lights go off. An ethereal blue glow is projected onto the entry ramp by a lone floodlight that breaks through the darkness. The crowd trembles with eagerness as L'Impératrice's "A View to a Kill" pulsates synthesizers burst the stillness.
Knots:
“And speaking of Glory!”
The silhouette of Ryan LeCavalier appears out of the darkness, clad in a
shimmering silver cloak that seems to both reflect and absorb the light. The
coat flutters about her as she moves, giving her enticing peeks of the
wrestling gear in silver and black underneath. Her face is hidden behind a mask
of steely resolve, framed by the hood. The Breakdown logo comes up on the
screen.
LAST WEEK:
Glory Braddock walks up the ramp to the back. She then gets to the stage, but just then, Ryan LeCavalier runs out from the back and nails her with a hard clothesline. The crowd ohs as Glory hits the steel stage. She rolls over and Ryan then grabs her and turns and runs her into the set. Glory bounces off, staggering, her head having gone into it and Ryan spins her around and sends her into the corner of the entrance. Glory hits the stage as Ryan LeCavalier looks at her. She then shakes her head.
Sharper: “Last week, Ryan LeCavalier after failing to put away Amelia Nevado, so I don’t know if this was frustration or specific to Glory Braddock, but she came out and bloodied the British Bombshell!”
Knots: “Not just bloodied, but looked to beat the hell out of her. Just hammering blows.”
Glory reaches out, grabbing at Ryan to try and fight, but Ryan nails her with a hard right. Glory falls back and rolls over. Ryan then pulls her up and kneels Glory in front of her. It’s clear a cut has opened up over her right eye. Ryan then looks at her and nails her with a series of hard right hands. The blood flows more with each shot, coming down Glory’s face and then dripping down onto her white blouse. Glory tries to block the first few shots before Ryan’s offense causing Glory’s arms to drop.
Sharper: “And we see the blood all over Glory’s top and we’ve not seen Ryan LeCavalier this violent in some time.”
Ryan LeCavalier nails Glory Braddock again and she drops to the stage. Braddock rolls over, blood dripping down onto the steel. Officials run out to stop the attack as Ryan LeCavalier looks at Braddock and then looks around as officials push her back. Ryan LeCavalier backs up for a moment before then running over and stomping Braddock in the head as she tries to get up. Braddock rolls over again as the crowd looks on, more stunned. Ryan LeCavalier then backs up and looks at the officials and then Braddock. She shakes her head again as she backs up and then turns and heads to the back. The Breakdown logo comes up on the screen.
We cut to the ring to see Ryan LeCavalier standing in the ring in her cloak,
microphone in her hand. She looks out at the crowd as the music fades out. The
crowd gives a mixed reaction. LeCavalier scans the crowd further, almost
absorbing the reaction.
LeCavalier: “Glory…how dare you disrespect so many of us. But the former liege de la lutte…you’ve started to lose your perspective. Then again, that seems to be a common refrain when some like to let fate guide them. Don’t think I didn’t notice that. For one who wishes to claim bias, you certainly seem to not care if you utilize any method to gain restitution, then again, you should understand where I stand…”
LeCavalier starts to walk around the ring.
LeCavalier: “But Glory…you can couch your exit from the Taking Hold of the Flame however you wish. The reality is that you’re throwing a tantrum and showing yourself to be a coward. And to stand there with the gall to say that you can afford to be patient…as if you will be owed other opportunities. For a veteran…just as I am, don’t let the fact I was up for Rookie of the Year fool you, I am merely a newcomer here in SCW…but I am only two years younger than you with just as much in-ring experience…and I would never take anything for granted. Then again, it seems like I did not do enough to keep you down. You’re booked against tonight. I’m sure you’re thrilled since you said you’d do as booked. Then again, you won’t be up against me and thirty-nine others because you can be patient…”
LeCavalier shakes her head.
LeCavalier: “The sheer arrogance…Almost as bad as Selena Frost saying this is her world and we’re just living in it and that Rise to Greatness will be hers. I will be testing that theory in multiple ways as we have yet to have that electricity spring from us since we last touched at Fatal Fortunes.”
LeCavalier continues to walk around the ring.
LeCavalier: “But things are a foregone conclusion…just like Light in the Darkness dominating the Tag division last year and now, this year, they seem off a step as a new violent team has come to usurp their position and done so multiple times. My condolences to your rein, spurned by your former ally getting nosily involved…but Amelia, last week was a fluke and at Taking Hold of the Flame, if we share the ring, I will go after you too. Nonetheless, as I even learned, I know I could beat you Amelia, but maybe I should be like Glory and be patient because it will still come to me!”
LeCavalier smirks.
LeCavalier: “Anyone else hear how condescending it is. Waylon Creek and I have been like two passing trams in the night for months…but don’t worry, it will come. It could come at Taking Hold of the Flame. See, this is the issue Glory…in this sport, nothing is for certain. Just like your safety! Just like your aura! I know you hold your father in high regard, but would he just be happy to rest on one’s laurels while openly taunting the roster because you can be bloody patient?!”
Ryan LeCavalier looks in the camera.
LeCavalier: “But that’s who you are. You are now the legend who demands. The legend who seeks to be handed their opportunities. The legend who rests on their laurels. Well, SCW…allow me to come and offer a make-up. Because I am looking to see where I really stand in this sport. You need a new number one entrant in the Taking Hold of the Flame…I am right here. And I will see each of those who have wronged me…Amelia, Clyde, Selena…maybe Waylon…Xander, you better get the job done or better do it poorly….and Glory, you watch me take advantage of your arrogance as I define a new era, a new liege de la lutte at the top of SCW!”
The crowd then starts to roar as we see Polly Pingotti hopping the barricade, having come from the crowd. Ryan, who walks around the ring, sees her as she slides into the ring. LeCavalier smirks.
LeCavalier: “Another example, Glory…someone who started this year turning the page when it appears the book’s been left unfinished!”
Sharper: “Polly Pingotti from the crowd.”
Knots: “The hell was she doing there?”
Sharper: “And I don’t think she liked what LeCavalier just said!”
Polly then steps forward and nails Ryan with a hard right. Ryan nails her back with one. The crowd roars as they trade forearm shots before Polly tackles Ryan LeCavalier down. Polly gets a couple of hard shots in, before Ryan manages to roll her over and then nails her with a couple of shots before taking her cloak off and placing it into the face and mouth of Polly, revealing LeCavalier wearing her wrestling gear.
Sharper: “LeCavalier now trying to smother Polly Pingotti!”
Knots: “She’s in her gear. She came to fight. I think she expected Glory to come out!”
Sharper: “But she’s got Polly!”
Polly tries to get Ryan off of her and manages to reaches up and rake the eyes of Ryan. Ryan rolls off as Polly starts to get up and both turn to one another as Polly jumps up and takes Ryan over the top rope with a crossbody. Both crash hard on the floor. Ryan rolls over as Polly grimaces in pain. She then gets up and Ryan gets up and Polly nails her with a hard right and then another before Ryan then catches the third and tries to take her down with the Body/Prison! The crowd roars as Polly keeps fighting it off. We see officials running down from the back. The crowd boos seeing them as Ryan LeCavalier then lets go and backs up. Polly then turns to a knee and runs at LeCavalier. She’s stopped by Hiro Tanaka and Dean Black while LeCavalier backs up as Dillusion and Lucas Knight join officials in stopping her. Ryan then looks around as she looks at Polly. Polly then pulls away from Tanaka and Black as LeCavalier looks around, seemingly looking for someone else as the scene cuts away.

Breakdown returns to see Jaina Lancaster standing with William Heaven in the SCW interview area.
Jaina: “Welcome back to Breakdown. Jaina Lancaster here in the SCW interview area and I’m here with William Heaven of the Fall of Man.”
The crowd boos.
Jaina: “William, last week was a notable night as they all seem to be for the Fall of Man, but it appears that some cracks did start to show-“
Heaven: “You’re going to focus on some comments made in the heat of the moment, instead of the fact that Breakdown closed with Waylon Creek dominant again. Chris Dumont thinks he can keep testing the Fall of Man. The problem is that this brick wall, the brick wall known as Waylon Creek, stopped him again. And while he can make his threats, the fact is that Creek left him bruised and battered and hopefully reconsidering his options going forward.”
Heaven looks at Jaina.
Heaven: “That’s the story. That Waylon Creek walked out and calmly dispatched a thorn in our side. A message to Xander Valentine that the Fall of Man won’t be stopped by anyone. And he can get his lucky shots, but that’s all they are. The Fall of Man is a unit. It is a solid unit. And it knows what needs to be done. It will see through it to the end and no matter what, whether it was last week on Breakdown, or as will be at Taking Hold of the Flame, we will stand tall!”
Heaven looks at Jaina and stops.
Heaven: “There’s your interview. And tell CHBK he better be improving his security. Dean Black shadowing me isn’t that impressive…it could be. Perhaps private contracting may be worth his while so he can do what he would NEED to do.”
Heaven turns and walks off. Jaina turns to the camera.
Jaina: “Back to ringside.”
Sal Darius vs. Marissa Swanson
SCW Television Championship
'California
love' by 2Pac Shakur hits the arena and Sal comes out wearing his world's
famous blublockers. 'The Sex Vibe' comes out with all the hype and toughness.
He walks a little and then takes a sprint to the ring. After sliding in the
ring underneath the bottom rope, he climbs the turnbuckle and points to his
crouch. Then 'The King of the world of Hearts' throw his blublocker aviators in
the crowd and jumps back performing boxing shadow in the ring warming up for
his bout.
Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the SCW
Television Championship! This match has a 15 minute time limit. Introducing
first, already in the ring, from Venice, California, weighing in at 170 pounds,
Sal Darius!”
The crowd doesn’t give much of a reaction, to which Sal rolls his eyes, moreso
just wanting to get things going. However his opponent is clearly taking her
time backstage.
Sharper: “Well, since returning to SCW, Sal is 1-2, with a tough loss to the
Monster Machine last week.”
Knots: “He has to put that behind him. Right now he has an opportunity to
change his fortunes around, against someone who has indeed changed her fortunes
around.”
The cameras point to the stage but Marissa’s music does not hit. In the ring,
Sal is getting impatient. He turns to the referee and asks where Marissa is, to
which the referee shrugs his shoulders. With his back turned and him demanding
the referee to begin a ten count, finally the arena slowly dims to complete
darkness. Sal Darius spins around and faces the stage. It is a few moments
before the SCWtron flashes a shot of a pair of deep brown eyes. The shot fades
out and a small pulse can be heard before the same shot shows a second time.
The crowd is very uneasy. The shot of the eyes goes back out again. The next
shot that shows is a quick video of a woman having her right hand run up a pet
leash. That shot fades out and the next one shows the shadow of someone wearing
the leash. After this shot fades out, the beginning of "Wrecking
Ball" by Miley Cyrus begins to play.
As soon as Miley begins to sing, there is a small spotlight that lights up on
the stage. Walking slowly into it is Marissa Swanson. As the chorus begins she
looks up and glares around at those closest to the wrestler rampway. She sneers
at all of them and walks down to the ring.
Phillips: “And his opponent, weighing in at 155 pounds, she is the current SCW
Television Champion, Marissa Swanson!”
Marissa lifts her shoulders up once. Once down at the ring she rubs her hands
against the apron of the ring, with it looking kind of disturbing. When the
chorus plays a second time, she sits up on the apron and rolls under the bottom
rope and into the ring.
Marissa then stands up and licks the front of her left hand with her tongue as
her entrance music continues. Sal looks at her not knowing what to think. The
third instance of the chorus leads to Marissa just standing in the middle of
the ring and raising both of her arms. She leaves them up until her music fades
out. The lights fully return to normal. She looks around in an intimidating
manner. Sal thinks about going for her from behind, but that is when Marissa
whips around and she can be heard saying “I don’t think so. Ref, here. Ring the
bell.”
She tosses the SCW Television Championship over to the referee as it had just
been sitting up on her left shoulder. The referee catches it and turns around.
While his back is turned, Marissa goes right for a dropkick which stuns Sal.
Sal backs up towards the nearest set of ropes.
Knots: “Marissa has the right idea. She found a spot and used it right off the
bat! That's why she was able to get Lawler last week.”
Sharper: “Yup, by taking advantage of a situation that happens to arise.”
The referee calls for the bell and turns around to see Marissa already going to
hook Sal up for a move. However Sal pushes back. Marissa however has not
released him from her clutches and chooses now to release him by whipping him
across the ring. Sal’s momentum carries him into the ropes. He rebounds off
them. Marissa sets herself for a clothesline opportunity, but Sal is able to
catch her with a European uppercut.
Sharper: “You don’t want to be flatfooted in the ring. That was a definite ring
rust moment right there for Marissa. After all, from what we know she hasn’t
competed much over the past decade.”
Knots: “Sal should take advantage of that fact.”
Marissa is stymied by the uppercut but looks to quickly be regaining her
bearings. Sal is able to land a second one and then winds up for a roundhouse
kick. Marissa however ducks the kick and delivers her own uppercut that
connects with Sal’s jaw. Sal looks rocked but then steadies himself and returns
the favor, hitting Marissa back with one… HARDER. Marissa is rocked and loses
her balance some. Seeing this Sal runs at Marissa and drills her with a Brogue
Kick right into the nearest corner. The crowd ohs as Marissa slides down into
the corner.
Knots: “Oof, I could feel that one. Sal is definitely more aggressive tonight.
That’s a good thing if you want to become a champion. Need to finish her off
now while you have the chance.”
Sharper: “Exactly.”
Sal backs away from her but then goes right back in with a drop kick that finds
the mark. Marissa looks out of it. Sal drags her away from the corner and goes
for a cover.

2!
Thr-
Marissa rolls the shoulder just in time.
Knots: “Oh my. This one was almost over. Marissa was in big trouble right there
and barely escaped.”
Sal pounds the mat in frustration.
Knots: “Oh don’t get frustrated Sal. You said it yourself that you would keep
the proverbial pedal to the metal.”
Sharper: “He did and that’s what has to be done.”
Knots: “It’s like I have a shadow sitting next to me.”
Sal looks at the referee and then gets up. He grabs a hold of Marissa’s right
arm and begins to drag her up to her feet. Once she is up enough, he slaps
Marissa right across the face with his patented California Slap. This though
looks like it just angers the champion, but Sal looks like he doesn’t care. He
goes for a second one but this time Marissa catches Sal’s hand and gives him a
Dikembe Mutombo finger shake before she whips him around once and hangs onto
him whipping him around again. She doesn’t let go again and whips him around a
third time before she releases him. Sal’s momentum carries him into the far
side rope. When he comes off the rope, Marissa gets into a bending position and
when Sal goes to kick her, Marissa grabs for him and gets him up onto her
shoulders. Sal however slides down and forearms her in the back of the head
over and over before hitting a mat slam. He goes for the pin.

2!
Marissa kicks out. Sal turns and grabs her and runs her face first into the corner. She staggers back and Sal hits a running clothesline. He goes for another pin.

2!
Marissa
kicks out again. Sal then grabs her and drags her up, but Marissa hits a
stunner. Sal falls back and holds his jaw. Marissa backs away and holds both of
her arms up into the air. She then steps up onto the nearest middle rope. Sal
comes back up to his feet but his back is turned to Marissa. Marissa takes
advantage of this and delivers a 360 flip from off the middle rope, landing
right on top of him for the cover.
1!
2!
Sal kicks out and rolls over, getting away from Marissa. He pounds the mat in
frustration again. Marissa regains her bearings and can be seen breathing hard.
Marissa gets back up first. She waits for Sal to be up enough before going for
a missile dropkick. She lands it and Sal goes backwards but not down to the
mat. Sal stops himself and chooses to run right at Marissa, looking for a
flying knee. Marissa however sidesteps it.
Sharper: “I think he went for that flying knee that he has, but was unable to
land it.”
Sal turns back around but turns right into Marissa Swanson spearing him down,
the back of his head hitting the canvas. The crowd ohs and actually cheers the
spear a little. Marissa is now down on one knee. She suddenly licks the inside
of her left hand.
Sharper: “And she wonders why CHBK is nervous about her.”
Knots: “Understandably so.”
Sharper: “Anyways, the door is open.”
Marissa gets back up and climbs up to the middle rope, not wasting any time
with going up to the top. She comes flying off and lands her Penultimate Note,
right on the money, right at Sal’s throat. Sal’s hands go to his throat as
Marissa flashes her intoxicating brown eyes towards the nearest ringside
camera. She reaches down and yanks Sal up by his arms. She then wraps her arms
around his gut and sets him up right in front of her. Marissa then steps
through, holding Sal upside down. Sal looks like he is fighting to try to get
out of it.
Sharper: “Uh oh. I think it’s clear what’s coming.”
Knots: “What Darren Reid Jr. took.”
Marissa drops Sal with the Swan Song before rolling him over and hooking up his
legs with her right arm. Meanwhile she licks her left hand again as the referee
drops to count.
1!
2!
3!!!
Right after 3 the bell rings. Marissa lets his legs go and Sal kicks out and
rolls away from Marissa. “Wrecking Ball” begins to play as Marissa stays down
on one knee, giving off an intoxicating yet disturbing look.
Phillips: “Here is your winner and STILL SCW Television Champion, Marissa
Swanson!!!”
Sal is now in a corner of the ring, trying to shake the cobwebs out of his head
as he angrily glares to where Marissa is. Marissa slowly stands up and looks in
his direction. The SCW Television Championship belt is passed back into the
ring. The referee hands it back to Marissa. Marissa raises the championship
high up into the air before she evacuates the ring. Once down on the floor she
slowly looks around as her music continues to play.
Sharper: “Maybe tonight will help Marissa forget about some of the troubles she
has faced in years past.”
Knots: “We will see about that. For now, she still holds that.”
The SCW Television Championship is shown being raised before the scene fades
out.

Backstage, we see Meghan Strader walking through the hallway. She’s flanked by Mackenzie Strader and Tearra Skye as they head down the hallway. Meghan has a folded-up piece of paper in her hand as she heads down another hallway and then over to one of the doors. She then lets herself inside. The camera follows her in, revealing she’s barged into the COO’s office. Alex “CHBK” Desoubrais looks up at her.
Meghan: “Here’s the bill…”
CHBK watches Meghan throw the folded-up paper on the desk.
Meghan: “Thirty days before it’s due. Then we collect interest.”
CHBK: “We’re not paying that.”
Meghan scoffs.
Meghan: “You’re not going to protect your golden girl?”
CHBK: “You can listen to Glory all you want. I gave opportunity. She needed to get it done. Just like you started this war against her, Ravyn, and Lexy. Pass it along to her.”
Meghan: “Are you sure you want that?”
CHBK: “As long as people are happy with whatever consequences happen from it.”
Meghan smirks. She then grabs the paper, continuing eye contact with CHBK.
Meghan: “Mackenzie, Tearra…let’s then get our payment.”
Meghan turns as Tearra and Mackenzie back up and exit the office.
We cut to the ring as we hear Ghost’s “Jesus He Knows Me” playing throughout the arena. The crowd boos as we see Ryan Lyman, wearing a white suit, standing in the ring. He berates Jason Phillips before demanding a microphone. He extends his arm as Phillips reluctantly hands him a microphone.
Sharper: “What in the world is he doing here?”
Knots: “That’s Ryan, right?”
Sharper: “Do you need to ask?”
Knots: “Well they’re identical twins!”
Sharper: “I don’t think Simon has it in him to treat Jason Phillips like that.”
Knots: “You’d be surprised. Phillips is a Leaf fan. He probably likes being humiliated and berated like this.”
Ryan then steps back and points at Phillips.
Ryan: “How dare you keep this from my hand. I have a message for the masses and you are getting in the way?! You are not more important than what I am working on here!”
Ryan looks around as the crowd boos. A loud “Simon!” chant breaks out.
Ryan: “Don’t you dare bring up that failure to me. The disgrace to my family…He already has given up on his dream. No World Title shot. He stepped up. I knew the arrogant man would. Going to the front of the line…when he’s as broken down as can be. Then again, he and Amy are two peas in a pod. They’re gonna big dog their way when the reality is that’s the only way either one can stay relevant. They have their dreams when they can’t ever achieve them. While I stand here as a way forward for the Lyman family…I will do what I need to do to get there…and that’s why I will be in the Taking Hold of the Flame. I will step into that ring and finally achieve what my brother Simon could only DREAM of doing and that’s earning a World Title shot, main eventing Rise to Greatness, and then EVERYONE in SCW can walk with me!”
The crowd boos. Ryan starts to walk around the ring.
Ryan: “Nothing is going to prevent that…and Simon…you have your feel good win at Retribution, you lucky bastard, Now screw off and die so I can finish what I started before you tried to ruin it and-“
We then cut to see Simon Lyman walking out from the back, cane in hand, as he uses it to steady himself. Amy Chastaine walks out with him. Ryan then turns and sees them as the crowd cheers.
Sharper: “Simon and Amy have heard enough!”
Knots: “And Ryan sees them!”
Sharper: “He does, but wait! Wait! It’s the Fall of Man!”
Simon and Amy make their way forward and take a few more steps onto the ramp before we see Giovanni Aries, Waylon Creek and James Evans run out from the back. Giovanni grabs Amy Chastaine from behind. She turns, but Aries throws Chastaine onto the stage towards Creek. Creek then nails her with a clothesline. She goes down. Ryan laughs as Simon turns around as James Evans clotheslines her down. Chastaine slowly rolls over and Creek then grabs her, muscling her up and before she can get her footing under her, and then throws her off the end of the stage. The crowd roars as Chastiane flies off and through a table with some cords and a laptop on the floor next to the stage. Chastaine rolls over into a heap.
Sharper: “My God! Amy Chastaine was just manhandled!”
Knots: “She tried to fight, but Creek is just that strong!”
Sharper: “And James Evans has just taken off Simon’s head. And Ryan Lyman is cackling like a hyena!”
Simon turns and James stomps him in the head. He rolls over. Giovanni then grabs Simon’s cane and James grabs Simon and runs him into the ring and rolls him in. Simon rolls over and looks up, wincing in pain. Giovanni Aries then walks towards the ring and throws the cane into the ring. Ryan Lyman catches it as the crowd boos. James then slides into the ring as Waylon Creek starts to come to the ring. Ryan looks at the cane and then nails Simon in the side with it. James then steps up and tells him to get back. Ryan holds his hands up and then turns and breaks the cane over his knee for good measure. He then exits the ring and stands on the floor, watching. Giovanni then runs over as Simon holds his ribs and tries to fight. He gets up and Aries nails him with a hard right. Simon staggers and Aries kicks him in the ribs and pulls him down with the Bad Trip. The crowd boos as Aries rolls away. Creek pulls himself up onto the apron and into the ring. James then walks over to Simon and grabs him by the hair. He then leans over and berates him.
Sharper: “James Evans just berating Simon Lyman. Simon wanted to challenge James. And James, the World Champion, yelling at him.”
Knots: “And just letting him realize what he’s got ahead of him. Fall of Man going after him and Ryan set this up,.”
Sharper: “You know you’re right. They’re making good on that damn deal.”
James then pulls Simon up and whips him into the ropes. He bounces off and James hits the Embrace the Onslaught to the jaw. Simon falls to the mat. The crowd boos as James walks around the ring before turning to Giovanni and then to Waylon. He looks at both, smacking both on the upper chest to get them focused. He then nods at them before pointing at Simon. Creek grabs Simon and drags him up and bends him over. He sets him up for a pumphandle and then hoists him up, but as he does, Aries grabs his head and then they spin him back down, driving him chest first back into the mat. The crowd roars, making noise, some react to the move while Ryan points behind them, but we then see Xander Valentine at ringside, having climbed over the barricade and running to the ring. He grabs James Evans by the leg and pulls him down to the floor. Xander then gets enough distance to be able to drill Evans in the back with a shoulder thrust. James hits the ring and Xander then hoists him up and onto his shoulders. Xander turns back and then runs back and dumps James Evans into the walkway in the crowd with the Valhalla has Fallen! The crowd roars.
Sharper: “Xander! Xander from the crowd! And he got Evans! He got Evans! He just dumped him into the crowd!”
Knots: “Head first! What the hell is wrong with him?!”
Creek turns and gets up as Aries glances at Xander and then Creek walks past Aries. Creek looks at Xander as Xander looks up at Creek before pointing at him. The crowd roars.
Sharper: “Xander wants Creek!”
Knots: “And Creek’s the only one he’s not yet dropped since making the Thunderdome cash-in!”
Sharper: “And Aries! Aries is still attacking Lyman. He’s ignoring Xander!”
Aries stomps away on Lyman with repeated boots to the side as we then see officials tending to Amy Chastaine, while others run down to the ring, namely Hiro Tanaka, Dillusion and Lucas Knight. They reach the ring as Xander then turns and exits to the crowd and James rolls over only for Xander to grab him and turn and throw him hard into the barricade. James grimaces as he rolls over. Xander then heads through the crowd as Creek just watches him leave. Tanaka, Dillusion, Knight and other officials reach the ring and Aries backs up, smirking. Ryan Lyman slithers away from the ring and starts to jog up to the back, smiling as he does.
Sharper: “Creek focused on Xander. Evans is down in a heap. That’s our World Champion!”
Knots: “And Aries…Simon looks like hell!”
Sharper: “And look at Ryan! Ryan Lyman running like the coward he is. The Fall of Man came out as a unit, and they’re all split up again thanks to Xander!”
Knots: “Don’t you say that! Creek knew Xander may have laid a trap! And Aries was finishing the job!”
Sharper: “And the World Champion is in a heap!”
Knots: “Stop it!”
Xander walks through the crowd as we cut to see James Evans grabbing at the barricade, grimacing in pain, clearly annoyed as Aries exits the ring to the floor. Creek looks at the officials as they tell him to leave the ring as Simon is checked on and the scene fades out.
COMMERCIALS
Breakdown returns as we see Amy Chastaine holding her head and neck as she sits on a storage crate next to the trainer’s room. She gets up and throws the icepack in her hand down as she shows her frustration. The camera turns and shows Simon Lyman being checked by the SCW training staff.
Sharper: “And there you see some of the aftermath of the Fall of Man’s attack.”
Knots: “Threw Amy off the stage through a table. Lyman driven into the mat and pummelled.”
Sharper: “James Evans is not there. He’s the other who was attacked. Not by Fall of Man of course, but by Xander Valentine. Amy looking frustrated…Simon, we just hope is going to be okay.”
Amy then looks at Simon before turning and storming off as the scene cuts away.
Polly Pingotti vs. Gavin Taylor vs. Kemal Yilmaz vs. La Pequena Luz
A coin
can be heard dropping into a coin slot. A few seconds pass, which is when an
open field is shown up on the SCW tron. A flock of birds rise up from the tall
grass and fly away as the sound of a piano can be heard playing, leading into
the opening of "Bird Set Free" by Sia. The moment the opening words
are heard, Polly steps out from the back and stands at the forefront on the stage.
She looks up at the tron to see one straggling bird rise up from the grass all
by its lonesome. Polly admires the one small bird that begins to fly away now
too until Sia reaches the chorus, which is when she turns around as a pair of
pyros goes off on each side of the entranceway. The nearest camera catches her
piercing bright green eyes as she begins to walk down the ramp and down to the
ring.
Phillips: “The following fourway match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing
first, from Panguitch, Utah, happy and free, Polly Pingotti!!!”
Polly does smile but only briefly as she turns her attention to the task at
hand. She can hear the usual mix of cheers and boos, leaning more towards
cheers than boos. She gives one full look around the arena before she slides
into the ring under the bottom rope. Once inside the ring she stands right up,
closes her eyes, and presents a flying motion. She opens her eyes back up and
light on her feet chooses a corner of the ring to wait in. With her arms now
back at her sides, her focus builds on the fight that she is about to go
through.
Sharper: “This is going to be a very interesting match. Three of the four
competitors in this match, as far as we know, are confirmed for the Taking Hold
of the Flame battle royal, but one thing all four of them definitely have in
common is they’ve all been struggling recently and could really use a win to
turn things around.”
Knots: “I’d argue that Polly could need this one the most. She went from being
Television Champion to the Straders having her number and she’s been struggling
to recover ever since!”
Wasteland by Pentagram, aka Mezarkabul, plays over the sound system as Kemal,
wearing the black and red venom mask comes through the curtain, holding up his
Turkey flag, wearing Turkey flame flag shorts with The European Fiery Nation
logo attached to his shorts, wearing MMA gloves and wrestling boots with Ginny
Raab behind him. He gets many boos as he walks to the ring, ignoring the fans.
Phillips: “From Istanbul, Turkey, accompanied by Ginny Raab, he is Kemal
Yilmaz!”
He jumps up to the ring and gets underneath the ropes before holding them open
for Ginny to get in, and he raises his fist in the air, looking at the crowd
with Ginny applauding Kemal before he puts himself in a corner. He holds the
ropes open again for Ginny to leave the ring before turning to the opposite end
of the corner and locking eyes with Polly, waiting for the match to begin.
Sharper: “Kemal is the only one in this match that we’re pretty sure will not
be in the battle royal in a little over a week’s time, but after coming off of
both a failed bid to become Adrenaline Champion and then being defeated by
Glory Braddock in a match he’d been wanting for some time, any momentum would
be good momentum for the young Turkish star right now.”
Knots: “At least it gives him something to do so that’s one less member of the
European Fiery Nation trying to take out The Connection for the time being!”
The lights around the arena begin to flicker as "Whoa Is Me" by Down
With Webster starts to play over the arena.
Whoa is me
I'm so whoa
See me decked out from my head to my toe
Whoa is me
I'm so whoa
Everywhere I go I'm a one man show
And the song continues...
The crowd boos as "All Star" Gavin Taylor steps out from behind the
curtain onto the top of the ramp. As he stands in place, posing with his arms
outstretched, the chorus of the song plays.
Say whoa (whoa)
The more I feel it whoa (whoa)
The more I need it whoa (whoa)
You say whoa
Whoa is me
I'm so whoa
Phillips: “Currently residing in Los Angeles, California, he is The All-Star…
Gavin Taylor!”
Gavin begins to walk down the ramp with swagger. He smirks as he gets to the
ring. Pulling himself to the apron, he hangs out off the ring while holding
onto the top rope.
The song continues...
I cheated to get what I got
Stepped all over you self for my spot
I bet you I'm winning, I bet that you're not
I bet you don't see me, I bet you get caught
Gavin pulls himself through the ropes and steps onto the second ropes on the
opposite side of the ring from the ramp. He opens his jersey, sliding it off
his shoulders as he stretches his arms out.
Turning around, he bounces back off the ropes, shifting his gaze between Kemal
and Polly before he backs into one of the vacant corners.
Sharper: “Gavin coming off a win over Sal Darius two weeks ago, but you know
his recent struggles are not where he thought he’d be at this point in the
year.”
Knots: “He almost hasn’t been the same since the whole mess with the Lyman
brothers, which is a damn shame when you remember how close he came to winning
the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal a couple of years ago!”
“Believe In Tomorrow” by Sunflower’s Garden begins to play as bright white
lights begin flickering on and off on the stage in rhythm with the music. La
Pequeña Luz skips out onto the stage with the kind of smile that could light up
an entire room all on its own plastered to her face, dancing a bit to her theme
song and waving her arms in an attempt to get the crowd pumped up, drawing
cheers. As she looks down towards the ring, the smile fades as something seems
to flicker through her mind, but she’s snapped out of the trance as Amelia
Nevado slowly makes her way out, placing a comforting hand on Luz’s shoulder.
With a quick kiss to her cheek, Luz’s smile returns as the two proceed to lock
hands before heading down to the ring, Amelia trying her best to keep up with
Luz’s energetic skipping.
Phillips: “And finally, being accompanied to the ring by Amelia Nevado, from
Tulancingo, Hidalgo, Mexico… La Pequeña Luz!”
Once they reach ringside, Luz pulls Amelia into a brief but passionate kiss
before letting her go as she hops up onto the apron, grabbing the top rope
before vaulting herself into a somersault into the ring, landing on her feet.
Luz begins skipping around the ring, motioning once more for the fans to make
some noise as they answer this call while Amelia takes her place in Luz’s
corner on the floor, chuckling to herself and shaking her head at Luz’s energy.
Luz removes her robe and hands it off to Amelia, who gives some last minute
advice and words of encouragement as she does so.
Sharper: “Last week, we saw Amelia Nevado rebound from The Light In The
Darkness’s failed rematch for the World Tag Team Titles with a big win over
Ryan LeCavalier. Tonight, it’s her wife’s turn to try and earn some momentum
for Taking Hold of the Flame.”
Knots: “Luz could be difficult to keep an eye on in this match, just as she
could be easy to lose track of in the battle royal. Sometimes, being a speed
demon can give you an advantage in a crowded field!”
Referee Jennifer Cassidy signals for the bell, and Polly immediately rushes
over to Gavin and starts hammering away on him. Kemal rushes over to Luz,
immediately trying to take her down to the mat as she hooks her arms around the
top rope to block this. Luz manages to create some space with a few forearm
strikes, but Kemal responds with european uppercuts as the two begin trading in
the corner. Across from them, Polly keeps hammering away on Gavin. She backs
off and measures him before going for a chick kick, but Gavin manages to grab
her leg before lifting her up and dumping her over the top rope out to the
floor! The fans give a mixed reaction to this as we see Luz block one of
Kemal’s uppercuts and stun him with an open-handed palm strike across the
chest. She double springboards up to the top rope while holding his wrist, but
Gavin runs in and cuts her off with a dropkick that knocks her feet out from
under her and sends her dropping to the floor below! That gets some audible
boos from the fans as Gavin grins to himself, only for Kemal to pop him with a
european uppercut! He hooks Gavin for a suplex, but Gavin blocks it before
grabbing Kemal for a double leg takedown and using it to lift and dump him over
the top rope as well!
Sharper: “Gavin does know that this isn’t a battle royal, right? We still have
a little over a week until then!”
Knots: “It’s all about getting into their heads and proving the All-Star can
eliminate them with the greatest of ease, Adam! Even Kemal, who isn’t even in
the battle royal as far as we’re aware!”
Gavin raises his arms and starts doing laps around the ring, acting as though
he’s won even as Jennifer Cassidy tries to tell him this isn’t a battle royal.
Luz pulls herself up to her feet as Amelia steps over to talk with her, keeping
an eye on Kemal who’s stirring nearby. Polly is also back on her feet on the
other side of the ring, and she looks frustrated as she slides back into the
ring and catches Gavin during his ‘victory laps’ with a headscissors takeover!
Gavin rolls over to the ropes and tries to quickly get back to his feet before
immediately backing away from them, causing him to turn right into a kick to
the gut from Polly. She hooks him for a DDT, but Gavin spins out of it and
tries to go for a knife-edge chop, but Polly ducks it and grabs his arm,
looking to use his momentum to pull him back into a short-arm clothesline, but
Luz suddenly springboards off the top rope and catches both of them with a
crossbody!
Sharper: “Luz flying in from out of nowhere to take both Polly and Gavin down!”
Knots: “You always have to keep your head on a swivel in matches like these,
and Luz is so quick that it’s very easy to lose track of her!”
Gavin rolls towards the ropes as Luz heads for the nearest corner and measures
Polly as she rises. Polly staggers over to the corner, and Luz grabs her in a
front facelock before leaping off with a tornado DDT! Just as we see her plant
Polly, we just barely catch Kemal pulling Gavin out under the bottom rope
before throwing him into the barricade! Luz gets up and makes sure Polly is in
position before she connects with a standing moonsault! She stays on top of
Polly for the cover, hooking the leg.
1!
2!
Kemal interrupts the count by wrapping his arms around Luz’s waist, hauling her
off of Polly and into a deadlift german suplex!
Sharper: “Kemal saving this match and dropping Luz right on her head!”
Knots: “He may not be in the battle royal like the other three are, but you
know he’d love to make a statement of his own regardless with a win here
tonight!”
Polly slowly starts to stir as she pulls herself to her feet, but Kemal quickly
stuns her with a european uppercut! He wraps his arms around her before taking
her over with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, causing her to land right
across Luz’s midsection! Both ladies look hurt as Kemal grabs Luz before
folding her up with a bow and arrow hold! Luz cries out in pain as Kemal bends
her spine across his knees. Amelia calls out to her wife to stay strong as
Jennifer Cassidy asks Luz if she wants to submit, but Luz refuses. Kemal simply
tries to bend her even more over his knees as we see Polly pulling herself up
to the top turnbuckle. She surveys the scene before leaping off with a top rope
splash onto Luz across Kemal’s knees! Kemal releases the bow and arrow hold as
Luz rolls away, looking to be in complete agony. Kemal gets to his feet,
wincing in pain before he grabs Polly’s arm, trying to take her down into a
cross armbreaker, but Polly rolls through before dropkicking Kemal right in the
face!
Sharper: “Polly taking advantage of Kemal’s submission to force some unintended
double-teaming that might’ve put Luz out of commission!”
Knots: “And Kemal’s reward for his help is the taste of Polly’s boots!”
Polly pulls Kemal to his feet and irish whips him into the corner before
following him in, leaping up for a stinger splash! She bounces out of the
corner and rushes over to catch Luz with a baseball slide, forcing her out to
the floor under the bottom rope. As she gets back up to go after Kemal again,
Gavin suddenly slides back into the ring and charges across, blasting him in
the face with a yakuza kick! Kemal drops to a seated position in the corner as
Gavin nods to himself, but as he turns, Polly catches him with a chick kick! He
falls back against the ropes and Polly goes to irish whip him, but he twists
through before catching her with a Dependable Roundhouse that drops her to one
knee!”
Gavin: “That’s how Chuck does it!”
He pulls Polly back to her feet and irish whips her into the ropes, catching
her on the rebound with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! Polly winces as she drops
to the mat and Gavin goes for the cover.
1!
2!
Polly gets a shoulder up! Gavin just shrugs before pulling her back to her feet
and throwing her over the top rope and out to the floor once again. He starts
to gloat, but Kemal grabs him from behind and tries to go for a german suplex,
but Gavin blocks before doing a standing switch. Kemal tries to back elbow him,
but Gavin ducks it and lets Kemal spin around thanks to his own momentum before
planting him with a spinebuster!
Sharper: “Gavin starting to build momentum, and he’s got Kemal all alone right
now!”
Knots: “A confident All-Star is a dangerous All-Star, and we know what Gavin’s
capable of when he’s firing on all cylinders!”
Gavin measures Kemal as he slowly rises. Whatever he could’ve been planning,
however, is thrown off as Polly climbs back onto the apron and catches him with
a forearm from behind! She starts to climb back into the ring, but Gavin
recovers quickly and catches her with the Cubic Zirconium Cutter! As Polly is
left draped over the middle rope, her upper body in the ring, Gavin turns his
attention back to Kemal as he runs off the ropes and goes for the All-Starmaker,
but Kemal ducks it! Kemal starts to rise to take advantage, but Luz suddenly
runs in from out of nowhere and catches him with the Flash Freeze! She gets
back to her feet and locks eyes with Gavin, who looks unimpressed at Luz
hitting the same move he just missed. He charges at her and swings for the
Gavin Taylor Lariat, but Luz ducks it and handsprings off the ropes into the
Esperanza Brillante!
Sharper: All four competitors giving this match their all, and it shows with
the fact that none of them are standing right now!”
Knots: “Just think of how badly each one of them wants to carry this momentum
into Taking Hold of the Flame, hoping to start the road to Rise to Greatness
off right!”
Luz is the first to make it back to her feet, surveying the scene as Amelia and
the fans cheer her on. She nods to herself before she steps out onto the apron
and begins climbing to the top turnbuckle, with Kemal in her sights. Whatever
she has planned, though, is cut off as Polly has pulled herself back into the
ring and runs up to the second turnbuckle to meet her! Polly stuns Luz with a
forearm before trying to hook her for something, but Luz responds with an elbow
to the side of the head. The two of them exchange right hands, trying to get an
advantage over the other, until Kemal lunges in and hits Polly from behind,
causing her and Luz to unintentionally headbutt each other! Both ladies are
stunned as the fans groan from the sound of the impact, and Kemal takes a
moment to recover before slipping under Polly, trying to pull her off the
turnbuckle into a powerbomb position. Before he can succeed, though, Gavin
suddenly lunges in and kicks Kemal right between the legs with the Better
Buzzer-Beater! Kemal lets go of Polly and sinks to a seated position in the
corner as Polly turns and ends up seated on the top turnbuckle right next to
Luz. Gavin looks up at the two of them and grins, taking a moment to try and
pump up the fans before he starts trying to hook both Luz and Polly.
Sharper: “There’s no way Gavin can get both of them for the Highlight of the
Night, is there?”
Knots: “He’s damn sure going to try! What better way to have the move live up
to its name?”
Gavin struggles for a moment, almost starting to realize that hitting Luz and
Polly with a double Highlight of the Night isn’t going to work, but he keeps
trying to hook them for it as best as he can. He steps up onto the bottom
turnbuckle to try and get some better leverage, but Kemal suddenly pulls him
off and takes him over with a dragon suplex! Kemal still looks dazed from the
low blow, but he’s clearly furious with Gavin as he grabs his arm, trying to
lock in The Turkish Acid Cross, but Gavin manages to roll through and escape!
As he rises, he tries to grab Kemal for the Desperation Buzzer-Beater, but Kemal
catches him with a european uppercut and backs away, only for Polly to fly off
the top and catch him with the Bird Set Free! She rolls through and scrambles
to set Kemal up for the Polly Pop, but Gavin lunges and takes her down with the
Gavin Taylor Lariat!
Knots: “Gavin! Taylor! Lariat!”
Gavin looks down at Polly before turning his attention back to Luz, who is also
stirring now on the top turnbuckle. He quickly pops her with a european
uppercut to keep her stunned before trying to hook her for the Highlight of the
Night again, but Kemal clubs him from behind! He pulls Gavin away from the
turnbuckles and hooks his arms before driving him into the mat with the
Istanbul Acid Driver! Kemal goes for the cover, hooking the leg.
1!
2!
Polly suddenly stomps Kemal’s head into the mat with The Head Turner to break
up the pin!
Sharper: “Polly breaking up the pin as everyone refusing to give even an inch
in this incredible match!”
Knots: “Except for maybe Luz, who’s been dazed up on that turnbuckle for a
while now!”
Polly pulls herself back to her feet, nodding to herself before she grabs Kemal
and pulls him away from Gavin, trapping his head between her legs. It’s at this
point that Luz finally seems to get her bearings again as she suddenly leaps
from the top and lands on Gavin with Ilumina la Noche! As Luz is slowly pulling
herself into the cover on Gavin, Polly plants Kemal with the Polly Pop! Polly
goes for the cover just as Jennifer Cassidy slides into position to count Luz’s
fall.
1!
2!
3!
Jennifer Cassidy calls for the bell as Polly rises, raising her arms in
victory, until “Believe In Tomorrow” by Sunflower’s Garden plays over the
speakers. She looks confused for a moment until she sees Luz stirring from the
cover she had, with Jennifer Cassidy closer to that pin as she raises Luz’s arm
in victory.
Phillips: “Here is your winner… La Pequeña Luz!”
Sharper: “Polly almost winning this match, but Luz got her cover just a little
bit quicker and can walk away with the win because of it.”
Knots: “Polly’s certainly not going to take another loss well at all, but maybe
she needs to look on the bright side. She and Luz are the ones still standing
and she wasn’t the one pinned!”
Sharper: “I doubt she’ll see it that way, Jon.”
Polly and Luz slowly rise to their feet, with Polly fuming and looking about
ready to lunge at Luz, but Amelia quickly slides into the ring and stands
beside her wife, just in case. Polly’s body trembles as she stares at the two
of them, and Luz slowly extends a hand with an apologetic look on her face,
hoping to offer a show of respect as she points out how they’re the ones
standing right now as Kemal and Gavin both roll out to the floor. Polly looks
down at Luz’s offered hand before audibly huffing and storming past both her
and Amelia, climbing out of the ring and marching to the back in frustration.
Luz watches her go with a frown before Amelia tries to cheer her up, giving her
a kiss on her masked forehead as Luz starts to perk up and the two of them take
a moment to celebrate to the delight of the fans.
We cut backstage to see James Evans knocking a vegetable tray off of a table in the Fall of Man locker room as he paces a bit.
Evans: “The hell was that?!”
Heaven: “What happened out there? You were to take out Simon. And then Xander-“
Evans: “The son of a bitch jumps me and you both do nothing! I thought we had made progress.”
Aries: “I stuck to the plan. You wanted Simon down. I kept on him. I did my part.”
Creek says nothing as Heaven walks over to him.
Heaven: “And you?”
Creek: “I wasn’t going to walk into a trap.”
Evans walks up to Creek.
Creek: “And this frankly is just the result of your actions. You’ve jumped him how many times. Xander’s clearly trying to pick us off. Ambushing us. I’ve seen enough of those and I’m not going to walk into one if I don’t need to. That’s not comradery. That’s stupidity.”
Heaven: “Okay, enough. This is what Xander wants. He’s hoping we’ll be at each other’s throats! He wants you two against each other because of the World Title. He went after Aries last week. Now you Evans…guess he still thinks he’s in your head, Creek.”
Creek turns to Heaven. Evans then turns Creek back to him.
Evans: “Whatever happened. We need to be on the same page. We need to keep this.”
Evans then turns and grabs the SCW World Championship.
Creek: “That won’t be a problem.”
Aries looks on and shakes his head as the scene cuts away.
COMMERCIALS
We return from commercial and we see Dean Black starting to walk away from someone, only to hear yelling as he stops and turns.
Black: “Enough!”
Striker: “Why? Going to protect him some more. Who’s side is CHBK on? You? Don’t any of you get what’s happening?!”
Black: “We’re trying to prevent you or Dumont from going to jail!”
Striker then storms up to Black. Irvine comes up behind him, trying to restrain him a bit.
Striker: “You don’t get that he’s willing to go there if it stops that son of a bitch.”
Black: “And where’s he now? That’s right…recovering from last week. I know he’d go out there. Sometimes we need to protect you from yourself.”
Striker: “Yeah…sure…are you taking something from Heaven? He seems to love you now.”
Black: “Enough!”
Black turns and walks off.
Striker: “Yeah, just walk away. Turn a blind eye to it all.”
Black stops and turns again.
Black: “Maybe you don’t get it. CHBK’s fighting it his own way. But as he’s always said, it comes down to happening in the ring. Dumont had his chance…Now, we just have to hope Xander knows what he’s doing and the field in the Flame and avoid catastrophe.”
Black turns and walks off.
Striker: “Funny way of doing it, huh? That dumb bastard was the Master of Mind Games? Weak as hell!”
Black continues to walk off as Striker is stopped by Irvine.
Irvine: “Dave…focus…you’ve got Glory…Just focus there.”
Striker just keeps watching Dean Black before he then turns and throws his arms up and walks off, Irvine following him.
Selena Frost vs. Dante Slayton
The lights in the arena fade down to a low blue as suddenly a voice speaks up from somewhere within the darkness that surrounds everybody.
<For a few seconds, this place was Armageddon!>
<There was a firefight!>
<Marilyn Manson>
<REACH OUT AND TOUCH FAITH!!>
As Marilyn Manson's cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" begins to play, the fans in attendance start to stomp in time with the drumline as Dante Slayton slowly walks out onto the entrance way, playing to the crowds followed by both Wil Pierce and Alex Belmont who do fist bumps with Dante before he slowly starts to make his way down to the ring. Belmont and Pierce head to the back.
Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall with a twenty minute time limit. Introducing first, he hails from Boston, Massachusetts, representing the Shinigami Foundation, known internationally as the “Harbinger of Fury”, this is DANTE SLAYTON!!!”
Dante continues his walk down to the ring, occasionally fist bumping with a fan before he gets to the ring steps where stands there for a moment with his eyes closed as he fights to center himself before he slams both of his fists on the top of the ring steps before climbing them, wiping his feet off before entering the ring properly before hitting his father's signature crucifix pose to the roar of the crowds.
Sharper: “Dante Slayton is hoping to add to the momentum alongside his motivation. He wants to get that title shot. He’s hoping he’ll face the Fall of Man. But ultimately, he’s also coming off the biggest win of his SCW career when he beat Syren two weeks ago.”
Knots: “And if he beats Selena Frost, we may never hear the end of it. Then again, Selena Frost may be annoyed that she’s not in the main event tonight. And Syren is!”
BELIEVE IT... OR NOT!
“Thank You for Hating Me!” by Citizen Soldier plays throughout the arena,
the SCW Universe deafening the song with their boos. The lights shift to dark
purple and blue, filling the arena as snow is seen “falling” along the
electronic floor and screens as, out from the back, walks the Snow Queen,
Selena Frost, taking in the crowd of the SCW Universe with a smirk.
Slowly, Selena shifts her head, her sapphire eyes locked towards the ring as
she turns to her side and lifts her front hand gracefully, extending it
towards the ring, palm upward. With a lift of her front foot, she suddenly
slams it down into the ground, causing a crack like ice to form and sprint down
the ramp and towards the ring!
Phillips:
“His opponent, from Nome, Alaska, she is the Snow Queen, Selena Frost!”
Lowering her arm, the Blue-Eyed Devil walks down the ramp, her steps
leaving footprints in the “snow” under her feet. Reaching the ring, Selena goes
up the steps and under the ropes to enter it. Once inside and in the center of
the ring, she stands still, confident and powerful, as the lights form to
make a massive blue and black snowflake under her and the purple and blue
lights. Raising her hand back up, towards the audience, once again palm
upright, a wicked smirk graces her lips. With a slam of her foot, Selena
causes the snowflake at her feet to “crack” as the rampway did, the shards of
ice streaking out to all four corners of the ring to shoot out purple streaks
of light from the turnbuckle the lights return to normal.
Sharper: “Selena Frost meanwhile has been as dominant as ever. She is just counting the time down until Taking Hold of the Flame. She is number forty. She’s the odd-on favourite.”
Knots: “And she’s just waiting. She knows it. She knows she’s the favourite. And she’s as confident as ever.”
Sharper: “Meanwhile, she should be careful. Dante Slayton, beat Syren, but also, his strategy against Xander Valentine. We could make a very strong case that Slayton’s attack on his arm is one reason why Xander Valentine is not World Champion right now.”
Knots: “James Evans even thanked him!”
The bell sounds. Selena and Dante look at one another and they lunge towards one another, but Selena drops down and spins around Dante and into a side headlock. She then pulls back as Dante reaches around and pulls Selena into the ropes. He then fires her off. Selena hits the ropes and Dante shoulders her down. Selena looks up as Dante runs into the ropes. He bounces off and hops over her. He hits the opposite side and Selena goes for a drop toe hold. She hits it and jumps up and into a side headlock. She pulls back, but Dante rolls her onto her back.
1!
2!
Selena gets up and both get up and Selena hits a shoot kick to the chest of Dante. Dante grimaces as Selena kicks him again and then goes for a jumping back kick. Dante ducks and Selena spins through. She turns and Dante runs her into the corner. Selena hits back first and Dante then pulls her back and hits a northern lights suplex before rolling through and completing the Hammero f Dawn. He remains in the pin.
1!
2!
Selena kicks out and rolls out of the ring.
Sharper: “And that was close. Slayton went big early. Huge with the Hammer of Dawn!”
Knots: “And he almost stunned the world.”
Selena walks around the ring. (1) She slowly moves around to the next side as Dante gets up and smirks. (2) Selena then hops onto the apron. She looks into the ring as Dante motions to her. Selena slowly enters the ring. Slayton then heads out and forearms her in the jaw. He then whips her across the ring. Selena bounces off and Slayton goes for a clothesline. Selena somersaults under and then pops up into the ropes and bounces off and Slayton goes to grab her, but Selena hits a spinning heel kick. Slayton hits the mat and gets up and Selena hits a dropkick. Slayton hits the mat. Selena goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Slayton kicks out. Both get up and Selena hits another spinning heel kick. Slayton hits the mat. Selena goes for another pin.
1!
2!
Slayton kicks out and both get up as Selena hits an arm drag and locks in an armbar. Slayton winces and slowly starts to get up.
Knots: “And Frost just slowing it down now. Got control and now back to her match.”
Sharper: “I don’t know if you want to go strike for strike with someone like Slayton. He can trade with you.”
Selena holds on and Slayton pushes her into the ropes. He then fires her off. Selena bounces off and Slayton goes for a back elbow. Selena ducks under and hits the opposite side. She then jumps up and goes for a crescent kick, but Slayton catches her and then hits a leg capture suplex. The crowd erupts. Selena rolls over and gets up and Slayton follows up with a hard right and then another and another. Selena blocks each, but they force her back into the corner. Slayton then chops her. The crowd woos. He chops her again. More woos. He then goes to whip her across the ring, but then stops and pulls her in, kneeing her in the ribs and this causes her to flip into the corner. The crowd ohs. She slowly gets up as Slayton waits and grabs her and hits a German suplex into a bridge!
1!
2!
Selena gets her shoulder up.
Sharper: “And another suplex out of that corner. Slayton using the ring well to set up Selena!”
Knots: “And Selena getting shocked by it. I’m a bit stunned by that.”
Selena starts to get up and Slayton hits a snapmare. He then runs into the ropes and hits the Flashing Elbow off the rebound. He turns and hooks the leg.

Slayton kicks out. Selena looks down at him and nails him with a hard right and then another and another before getting up and stomping him for good measure.
Sharper: “Selena just stomping Slayton after several hard rights. Walking over Slayton.”
Knots: “Frustration? Or maybe just disrespect? Either way, Slayton won’t care for that. Selena won’t care that he won’t care!”
Slayton rolls over as Selena then grabs him and hits the Claim-Stake. Slayton falls back. Selena then exits to the apron. She climbs up to the top rope. The crowd looks on, booing as Slayton slowly gets up. She then dives off with a missile dropkick. Slayton hits the mat. Selena turns and hooks the leg.

Sharper: “Dante’s Inferno! Selena dropped on his knee!”

Knots: “Oh man. Too close! Too close!”
Selena rolls over to the ropes. Slayton then gets up and grabs her and pulls her up. Selena grabs at the ropes and then drops down, clutching them. He clubs her in the back a couple of times before trying to pull her off. He then clubs her again and again before then dragging her off and backing up. He then goes for a back suplex, but Selena backflips through. Slayton lunges before Selena catches his arm and then moves into a full nelson before bulldogging him down. Selena rolls over, taking a moment, still feeling the effects of the Dante’s Inferno. She then starts to get up and turns to the ropes before leaning back and then rocking back into the ring and hitting the Cold Shoulder on Slayton. Slayton hits the mat. Selena pops up and Slayton rolls over and get sup as Selena goes for the Rolling Snapmare. She then rolls through and climbs to the top rope. Selena turns and hooks the leg.

The crowd boos as the bell sounds.
Phillips: “Here is your winner, via pinfall, Selena Frost!”
Selena rolls off of Slayton and looks out at the crowd. She then starts to get up and has the official raise her arm. She then looks out at the crowd before then turning and looking at Slayton. She mockingly claps for him before then turning and stepping through the ropes. She drops down to the floor. Slayton stirs, holding his jaw as the scene cuts away.
Sharper: “Let’s now go backstage and Jaina Lancaster has found Xander Valentine! Jaina?”
The scene shifts to show Jaina Lancaster out in the parking bays of the building. Xander Valentine paces between one of the trucks as he walks over to her.
Jaina: “Thanks Adm. Xander Valentine…another attack, another target. This time James Evans. And then you and Waylon Creek having a staredown. You said you’re showing how anything can happen in the Thunderdome, but the order is curious.”
Xander: “Why? Aries…is he really into it? I don’t know. But he’s not the one who wants the World Title? Or does he want it for he actually wants to do. And for James, don’t like it when I do what you did to me. At least your arm is in good shape.”
Xander looks at his arm.
Xander: “I’m almost at one hundred percent myself. And Waylon…one word. Retribution. And I mean in more ways than one! And it all comes to a head at Taking Hold of the Flame. You can call me suicidal. You can say I’m trying to be a martyr. No…I’m doing what I need to do. There’s only been one Executioner in SCW and while I may not be as dominant as I once was, I don’t need to be looking over my shoulder for someone I can’t trust to hold up their end. Or for someone to go off hot headed because they are so driven by revenge. I can trust myself to be focus on one thing. And that’s taking the World Title back and short circuiting their plan while spilling as much blood as I can in that God damned structure!”
Xander looks at the camera.
Xander: “They say they’re a unit. Let’s see what’s truth when the World Title is on the line. And you can eliminate your biggest challenge at the same time. But if you think I’m walking into the Thunderdome without a plan, you’re the fool. I’m done hunting until June 1. Read into that what you will. I come for war at Taking Hold of the Flame!”
Xander then turns and walks off, back between the trucks, heading away from the building. Jaina watches him leave before turning back to the camera.
Jaina: “Xander leaving the building. One final message? Looks like it. Breakdown returns after this.”
Jaina turns and watches as Xander continues to walk off as the scene fades out.
COMMERCIALS
Breakdown returns as Colleen MacDonald is walking down one of the hallways backstage, while proudly holding her SCW Underground Championship. She walks over to one door, looking at a door hanger. She lifts it up, the camera getting a good shot of it being an advertisement for KABLAMia. She just crumples it up and throws it down on the ground before taking a few more steps and seeing another one. She throws it off the door handle and then continuing to the next one, this one her locker room and grabs the door hanger and looks at it, sighing. The crowd boos lightly before we see her look up. Her annoyance turns to anger. She then turns as we see Kimberly Williams skipping towards her, before she stops and looks at her.
Colleen: “Finally not hiding.”
Kim: “I never was hiding. I don’t like wasting time.”
Colleen: “You have two seconds-“
Kim sighs.
Kim: “You wanted respect…”
Colleen’s demeanour slightly changes.
Kim: “You beat me. In my game. I may be a sociopath, and maybe a psychopath….and I may still hate what you’re doing…but…”
Kim stops.
Kim: “But if you lose to him and what he’s doing….even if it’s A LOT of fun. Trust me…although, I don’t know if they know their shackles are really far too loose. I didn’t fix them…anyways…you have my respect now…but if you screw up at Taking Hold of the Flame…then you’ve proven nothing.”
Kim smiles.
Kim: “Bye Old Macdonald!”
Kim then skips past Colleen as Colleen turns and watches her leave before then turning back to the pamphlet as we cut to the ring.
“Duality”
blares through the PA system.
"I push my fingers into my eyes..."
The cameras show the crowd who begin booing before zooming in at the entrance
way, where Josh Hudson steps out, along with Alex Hudson and Isaac Stone.
Sharper: “And we haven’t seen them for a couple of weeks and here they are. With Konrad Raab elsewhere.”
Knots: “Hey, that’s just smart. They’re focused on the right things. Like the Taking Hold of the Flame.”
Sharper: “Connection wants them. EFN wants them.”
"It's the only thing that slowly stops the ache
But it's made of all the things I have to take
Jesus, it never ends, it works it's way inside
If the pain goes on...I'm not gonna make it!"
They all wear sleeveless black hoodies as they slowly makes their way down the
ramp. They reach the bottom of the ramp, and all look out to the crowd before
Hudson begins making his way up the ring steps. Alex runs and slides in from
under the bottom rope, as Isaac climbs over the top rope from the ring apron.
"I have screamed until my veins collapsed
I've waited as my time's elapsed
Now, all I do is live with so much hate
I've wished for this, I've bitched at that
I've left behind this little fact
You cannot kill what you did not create
I've gotta say what I've gotta say
And then, I swear, I'll go away
But I can't promise you'll enjoy the noise
I guess I'll save the best for last
My future seems like one big past
You're left with me 'cause you left me no choice..."
Each member goes to an individual, climbing to the top rope.
"I push my fingers into my eyes
It's the only thing that slowly stops the ache
If the pain goes on
I'm not gonna make it!!!"
Each member is shown staring out at the crowd once again, as they lift both
fists into the air, earning more jeers before they climbs down and reconvene in
the middle of the ring. Josh Hudson demands a microphone and gets one before
turning back to the middle of the ring.
Josh: “Miss us?”
The crowd boos.
Josh: “You should. Things were simpler…more direct….more obvious than what we’re seeing here. But now Xander Valentine wants to play hero. Good luck Xander. And Fall of Man…leave enough of the ruins for me and my boys to still have some fun. Then again, if SCW really was worried about you, they’d tell Xander to screw off, while giving me James one on one. I’d take care of things like that…”
The crowd boos as Josh Hudson looks around.
Josh: “But that doesn’t stop me from doing it out of the goodness of my heart and repeating last year to save us from this all. Because with me, it won’t be Selena’s world. Won’t be Fall of Man’s…but it will be mine and the Product!”
Josh then pauses as the crowd boos.
Josh: “And I know some people have a problem with that. Konrad Raab…I proved you couldn’t handle us and you can whine all you want, but the fact is that your future PALES in comparison to the one I offer with these two with me as their guide. But Raab…if you have a problem, come on out…I’ll give you one more shot right now. One on one. Or are you out racing again?”
Sharper: “Konrad Raab is here. I saw him. I know they’re here!”
Knots: “So why isn’t he coming out?”
Josh Hudson shakes his head. Alex Hudson smirks as Isaac Stone walks around the ring.
Josh: “We’re focused on this…what’s here and what’s in this sport and this right here will be what is synonymous with excellence. I already have made the Hudson name that and they will continue it on. But-“
We see a list of scrambled letters flowing down the screen as we then see the lights stop to highlight “Tommy Valentine” before highlighting “Kandis” and then highlighting “The Connection.” “Trenches” by Pop Evil starts to play as the crowd cheers. Kandis and Tommy Valentine walk out from the back. The crowd cheers as they look around. They then start to walk down to the ring.
Sharper: “There’s another team that wants to face the Product. The Connection!”
Knots: “They want a rematch. They want to make sure it wasn’t a fluke! Especially after Raab and Josh Hudson got involved. Well come on! They won? Right?! The Product that is!”
Tommy and Kandis reach the ring as Kandis walks up the steel steps and Tommy walks around and demands a microphone, motioning to Phillips. Phillips walks over and hands him a microphone. Tommy turns and looks in the ring.
Tommy: “Nice speech there Josh. Good to know you’re still as big of a blowhard as ever.”
Tommy pulls himself onto the apron and steps into the ring, Kandis walking over to him.
Josh: “How’s the knee?”
Tommy: “Don’t worry about that. But we are out here about your claims of being already the standard for excellence.”
Josh: “Already the game is passing you by.”
Tommy: “So you think, but then again, I’d love to see if your boys can handle us without you and Raab running around. Simple as that. Was it a fluke or are your boys the next great tag team in SCW? Well, I’d love to see which is true? WE would love to see that.”
Kandis smirks as she folds her arms across her chest. Tommy then looks at Alex and Isaac. Josh goes to respond, before Alex walks over to him and looks at him, asking for the microphone. Josh turns and talks to him. Alex says something again and Josh hands him the microphone. Alex smirks.
Alex: “You would love to see that? Do you think it’s going to be a different outcome? My father has spent months training us for this moment. He’s had us for weeks competing elsewhere around the country, making us pay our dues, and get as much work in.”
Tommy: “So then show it, kid?”
Alex: “You know I can last longer than you can. Same for him.”
Kandis laughs.
Tommy: “Interesting way to look at it, but I’m going to doubt you there. Again, it’s simple – EFN aren’t here in full because Konrad Raab is racing like you like to derisively say. So there’s nothing stopping this from being as advertised this time. So….”
Alex: “Fine…you want another ass-kicking. You want a rematch. Well-“
Josh then pulls the microphone away from Alex and pulls it to his mouth.
Josh: “You can wait in line! We’re focusing on the Flame. You want to get your hands on them…then you can try then!”
Alex looks at Josh as Josh then motions for them to leave the ring. Tommy just looks at Alex and then Isaac. Kandis then says something to them. Ales turns as the crowd boos. He exits the ring as Isaac Stone then follows. Josh Hudson looks at both Kandis and Valentine before exiting to the floor with Alex and Isaac. The crowd boos more as they walk around the ring and over to the rampway. Isaac looks at Alex as Alex looks at the Connection, before they continue to the back.
Knots: “Damn right! Wait until the Taking Hold of the Flame. They have a bigger purpose!”
Sharper: “Was Alex going to say yes?”
Knots: “He was going to tell them off. Josh just wanted to do it for him!”
Sharper: “Why?”
Josh Hudson and the Product walk to the back. The crowd boos as Tommy just scoffs, shaking his head and turning to Kandis. Kandis leans on the middle rope, inviting them to come back, but Josh keeps Alex and Isaac focused on returning to the back, even grabbing Alex’s head and turning it to the back. The crowd boos as they go through the curtain.
Breakdown cuts backstage as Jaina Lancaster stands with Glory Braddock at the SCW interview area.
Jaina: “Glory, in a few moments, you’ll face David Striker in one on one action, but before you go out there, I wanted to ask about last week. Ryan LeCavalier openly criticizing how you framed your decision and that you’ve insulted the roster and-
Braddock: “She’s entitled to think what she wants. But I’m entitled to give the honest truth. And that’s what I did. I don’t need to risk injury in hat moment. I have confidence in my skills. She wants to make it sound like I’m arrogant because I know I’ll get a shot. Let her. She’s arrogant enough to think she will survive the Taking Hold of the Flame unscathed. We’ll see about that. I’m going to let her try. But when she’s thrown over the top and she falls short, and she hangs her hat on her accolades. I’ll be there, not to lift her up, but to get my receipt.”
Braddock pauses for a moment.
Braddock: “And Ryan…you keep my dad’s name out of your mouth. You don’t know a damn thing about my family and my legacy!”
Jaina: “Thank you for your time. Good luck against David Striker.”
Braddock turns and walks off.
Sharper: “Striker faces Braddock! Next! On Breakdown!”
The scene fades to commercial.
COMMERCIALS
Breakdown returns as we hear yelling as cameras open up down one of the hallways in the back. We then see building staff, joined by Hiro Tanaka and Dillusion.
Dillusion: “Stop banging on the door. We’re getting you out!”
We then see a wedge having been driven under the door, Dillusion, Tanaka and the building staff are standing at. The building staff tries to pull it out, prying it out and keep working on it as they start to get it open and the door is pushed open. One of the staff members is knocked over by it as Konrad Raab steps out of the room. Oskar Theron steps out too as Ginny steps out to calm Konrad down.
Konrad: “That son of a bitch! Calling me out and trapping me! Where the hell is he? Where the hell is Josh!”
Tanaka: “Easy, Konrad. Easy!”
Konrad: “Get out of my way-“
Dillusion: “Hey!”
Dillusion and Tanaka hold him back as Ginny tries to calm Konrad down before we cut to the ring.
Glory Braddock vs. David Striker
Phillips: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall.
The first chords of "Immortal" by Ozzy Osbourne begins to play over the PA system...
Phillips: Introducing first, from London, England, she is The British Bombshell GLORY BRADDOCK!
Glory Braddock steps out onto the stage, wearing her ring gear consisting of purple spandex pants, boots, and a purple top. She really does look like a million bucks and grins from ear to ear, gazing out at the crowd for a moment before making her way down the entrance ramp.
I come alive at the second of midnight
So I can fly when the world is asleep
You scream and howl as I'm taking the first bite
Blood on my tongue tastes of eternity
People will come and go
Some stories never told
They bury me down below
But I'll never die
'Cause I'm immortal
Yes, immortal
The British Bombshell steps up the steel steps and then onto the ring apron. She poses momentarily on the apron, allowing people to take snapshots before stepping through the ropes and into the ring. Once in the ring Glory heads to the center of the ring and poses once more. Then the music dies down slowly…
Sharper: “Glory Braddock going to focus on this match. We heard her comments on Ryan LeCavalier. Almost saying try to be me.”
Knots: “Yeah, but you know she wants revenge. She wants it. Both of these two may be thinking elsewhere!”
“Man in the Box” by Like a Storm plays and the crowd roars. A few moments pass before David Striker walks out from the back and scans the arena. He then nods a bit as he turns to the ring and looks at his opponent. He then starts to head to the ring.
Phillips: “Her opponent, from Cameron, North Carolina, he is Bam Bam David Striker!”
The crowd roars as Striker heads to the ring and slides into the ring. He gets up to a knee and looks around before getting up to his feet. He then turns and runs into the ropes, before sticking his upper body under and out from the top rope, getting a louder reaction.
Sharper: “David Striker showing his emotion. Clearly frustrated with what he sees going on.”
Knots: “He should step back. He should take a breath and he should realize that the Fall of Man are who is really running the show. And he better accept it!”
Striker starts fast with quick rapid chops that back Braddock against the ropes. He whips her into the ropes and deliver a high back body drop. David Striker with a spinning heel kick. Striker goes for a yakuza kick but Glory dodges it and then catches him with a deep arm drag into an arm bar. Striker fights back to his feet. Glory switches into a hammerlock. She keeps it wrenched in tight. Striker with elbows to the side of the head, eventually forcing a break. Striker with a roundhouse kick floors Braddock.
Sharper: “Big kick! Braddock dropped!”
Knots: “He got all of that!”
Glory Braddock scrambles back to her feet. Striker with a lariat. Striker with an enziguri. He takes Braddock and whips her into the corner. He rushes in after her but Braddock moves out of the way and he goes shoulder first into the steel ring post, the same shoulder that Braddock had begun working on earlier. Striker staggers out of the corner and Braddock drops him with an arm ddt. Immediately she goes into a fujiwara arm bar.
Sharper: “Going to the arm. Trying to maybe wear him down.”
Knots: “And he’s had arm issues lately too. Remember after Retribution?”
The official is right there to check on Striker but he refuses to give in. He fights to the ropes, getting closer and closer, inch by inch, but Glory keeps the hold wrenched in tight. Eventually David reaches the ropes to force the break. Braddock goes up to the middle rope and stands perched, waiting for Striker to get back to his feet. She leaps off with a blockbuster, Prankster’s Paradise. Instead of covering she locks in a crippler crossface, adding more pressure to the injured arm.
Sharper: “And again, going for the arm. This is the target Braddock has.”
Knots: “He wants to fight the world. Going to be hard with only one arm. Just ask Xander Valentine!”
Again David Striker refuses to give in despite the pain. He inches closer and closer to the bottom ropes until he reaches it, forcing the break. Braddock pulls Striker back to his feet and sets him up for Beautiful Insanity but he counters with a Northern Lights release suplex. Braddock scrambles up to her feet but David catches with a spinning heel kick, a yakuza kick. Striker measures Glory as she pulls herself up. David with Deadly Rave! She’s down and he falls into the cover…
1…
2…Kickout!
David pulls Braddock up and delivers a belly to back suplex, an exploder suplex, and then a saito suplex. Striker then climbs up to the top rope and leaps off with a diving elbow drop! He covers, hooking a leg…
1…
2…
…3NO! Glory kicks out!
Striker pulls Braddock back to her feet and hooks her for a hammerlock. He attempts the hammerlock ddt but before he can finish it Braddock counters into a hammerlock of her own. He tries to break it with elbows to the face but this time Glory was ready and avoids them. Braddock with a crossface chicken wing locked in tight!
Sharper: “Braddock using everything in her repertoire. Crossface chickenwing!”
Knots: “She may be trying to rip that arm off. And Striker is probably too stupid to tap. He’s going to want to show he’s a tough guy!”
The official is right there to check on Striker but he refuses to give in. He manages to back up into the corner once, twice, three times, and then a fourth finally forces Braddock to break the hold. David with a backfist causes Braddock to slump down in the corner. Striker then charges in and drills her with double knees. He pulls Braddock up and whips her into the opposite corner. Striker charges in but this time Glory moves out of the way and Striker again goes shoulder first into the steel ring post. He staggers out of the corner and Braddock catches him with a scissors kick followed up by a shining wizard. She climbs up to the top turnbuckle and then launches herself off the top, going for London Plunge, the diving headbutt but Striker moves out of the way! Both competitors are down!
1!
2!
3!
David slowly negotiates his way back to his knees. Glory is stirring.
4!
5!
6!
Striker is back to his feet. Braddock is back to her feet. Striker turns her inside out with a lariat! He pulls her back to her feet and tries to throw her with a German suplex but Braddock incredibly lands on her feet. He charges but Glory catches him with a drop toe hold into an STF.
Sharper: “Now going a different direction. The STF.”
Knots: “Striker keeps fighting back and Braddock goes for a hold. Maybe even showing something to LeCavalier. She can out wrestle you!”
Striker refuses to give in but Braddock keeps the hold wrenched in tight. He struggles to get to the ropes, inching closer and closer. He’s almost there…Glory drags him back out to the center and switches back to the crippler crossface! Striker still doesn’t quit. He fights again towards the ropes. Finally he reaches the ropes, forcing the break. Braddock gets back to her feet and then goes for a shining wizard but David avoids it and then snatches the leg, wrenching in an ankle lock. Now the referee is asking Braddock if she wishes to quit but she shakes her head, refusing to give in. She manages to spin out of it and, in the process, send Striker shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Glory with Gloria In Excelsis Deo! She goes into the cover…
1…
2…
…3NO! Striker shoots his shoulder up off the mat! Glory quickly transitions into a fujiwara arm bar!
Sharper: “Striker kicks out! But Glory! Back to the arm.”
Knots: “Striker may be permanently on workman’s comp after this! I wonder if he’ll need to take his forms to Dean Black!”
The official is right there to check on Striker but he refuses to give in. He fights to the ropes, getting closer and closer, inch by inch, but Glory keeps the hold wrenched in tight. Eventually David reaches the ropes to force the break. Braddock decides to try and end this. She pulls up back to his feet and attempts to set him up for Glorification, the unprettier. But David counters by shoving her off into the ropes. She comes back and Striker catches her with a belly to belly overhead suplex. Striker takes her and drops her with a hammerlock suplex.
Sharper: “And fighting through the pain. The hammerlock suplex. Striker takes her down.”
Knots: “And he’s not done!”
David pulls Braddock back to her feet. Now he is signaling for the end. He sets her up for Equivalent Exchange…but Glory counters in mid-move, locking Striker in Shekhinah Glory!
Sharper: “Shekinah Glory! The triangle choke. Glory got it!”
Knots: “And Striker trying to fight!”
The referee is in position to check on David Striker, who is now in agony. Yet despite the pain Striker won’t give in. He tries to fight towards the ropes. Again he gets so close…but Glory drags him back away from the ropes. She wrenches back on the arm. David then starts to go limp and Glory pulls him to the mat. The referee checks on Striker and calls for the bell.
Phillips: Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner, via submission, Glory Braddock!
Sharper: “And Braddock gets him.”
Knots: “The damage may have been done. But Braddock did what she said – she’s booked. She showed up.”
Sharper: “And she won, but you wonder if Striker’s head was elsewhere. You wonder how much the arm is hurt now.”
Knots: “But sadly he may not learn!”
Glory gets up and has her arm raised. She looks back at Striker and nods before looking around the arena. She celebrates in the ring as the scene cuts to commercial.
COMMERCIALS
Dexter Grant vs. Derek Adonis
“TokSik”
by Starset hits as the lights in the arena immediately go out, a series of
green spotlights converging onto the stage where fog has begun to consume it.
The big screen shows a human eye opening, and reflecting in it is a montage of
people glued to their phones and computers, either consuming or producing
social media garbage as they all look sickly while doing so. “The Digital
Detoxer” Dexter Grant marches out through the fog literally dragging the SCW
Adrenaline Championship belt as it scrapes along the floor, stopping at the
edge of the stage and staring out at the fans with disgust. A few cheers can be
heard, but they're easily drowned out by all the boos raining down upon him. He
turns his head to his right just in time to see his faithful flunky Wendell
march out behind him, proudly holding up a protest sign that has the
circle-backslash symbol with a wi-fi symbol behind the backslash and the words
“DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT” written within the circle.
Phillips: “The following non-title match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing
first, being accompanied to the ring by Wendell, from 'Off the Grid,' he is the
SCW Adrenaline Champion, The Digital Detoxer... Dexter Grant!”
Wendell eagerly looks up at Dexter, who smiles and nods in approval before he
starts storming down to the ring, his disgusted look returning at the sound of
all the people around him who just refuse to listen to his message. When he
reaches ringside, he literally throws the Adrenaline Title into the ring before
he jumps up onto the apron and aggressively steps through the ropes, marching
to the center of the ring and standing over his title, turning his back to the
hard cam as he points his thumb to the same “DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT” logo of
his on the back of his vest. Wendell crawls into the ring and stands beside
Dexter, proudly holding up his sign before looking legitimately confused as to
why they're being booed. The lights return to normal as Dexter starts to pace
around the ring while Wendell collects the title belt.
Sharper: “Dexter Grant a little frustrated with Taking Hold of the Flame on the
horizon, all because he's actually booked tonight while his number one
contender, Veil, is not.”
Knots: “If this man smells a conspiracy, you better believe we'll hear all
about it, especially since it's pretty hard to ignore him so long as he's
Adrenaline Champion!”
As Dexter's music cuts, Wendell walks over to Jason Phillips and asks for the
microphone, and Phillips reluctantly hands it over. Wendell turns and gives it
to Dexter, who's pacing back and forth in the center of the ring like a man
possessed.
Grant: “I bet you're all real excited, aren't you?”
The fans give a mixed response to that.
Grant: “Here I am, forced to compete against some buffoon who clearly has you
under his spell because of how easy it if for you to access the smut he's
'gramming' out to each and every one of you. And right after him, I have to
contend with a wannabe horror movie villain whose tricks always have you all
racing to your phones to tweet about how 'scared' or 'terrified' you felt being
in his presence... someone who, despite being such a menace that he was
suspended not that long ago, conveniently has the night off.”
The fans boo, but Dexter pays them no mind.
Grant: “To the real puppet masters seated at their computers backstage, did you
really think I wouldn't-”
KABLAAAAAAAAAAM!!!
The sound of a xylophone scale is heard, signifying the start of the KABLAMian
Taberacle Choir's jingle, "Come In KABLAMia" as Dexter stops pacing,
seething in irritation.
Derek Adonis rolls out atop the ramp on a cloud, alongside a number of the
citizens of KABLAMia: Sweet Sangria, Mimi Mimosa, Het Meisje, and Anastasia
Fantasia among them. The crowd rise to their feet in a raucous applause at the
display of flesh in front of them...
Welcome to the land that loves below the belt
The sky’s are clear and pleasure is felt
Come in KABLAMia, come in KABLAMia
Adonis partially rises to his knees, waving out to the crowd as chants of
"KABLAM" ring out throughout the arena. The cloud continues to roll
it's way down the ramp as we hear the sound of the mic hitting the mat as a
result of Dexter's frustration.
Where fun-loving people can give right in
To a Man Mountain utopia where everyone wins
Come in KABLAMia, come in KABLAMia
Sweet Sangria always dressed in smile
Many men and women will go the extra mile
Come in KABLAMia, come in KABLAMia
The women on the cloud toss out small, travel-sized bottles of Derek Adonis
Heavy KABLAM Lubricant and folded up travel brochures to the crowd.
Phillips: “His opponent, being accompanied to the ring by the KABLAMia Tourism
Board, he is Man Mountain... Derek Adonis!”
The lube flows freely, never enough
It’s a copyrighted formula, the right stuff
But even still they make you feel right at home
Whether you love cleaning the carpet or polishing chrome
The cloud makes it to the bottom of the ramp and Adonis hops off first,
reaching up to help the four primary women off. They step down, each planting a
kiss on the cheek of Man-Mountain before heading up the stairs. Adonis follows
up last and pulls himself through the ropes, lifting them for the four women to
enter the ring as well.
We don’t kink-shame here, it never allowed
It’s a comfortable place while you’re being plowed
Your greatest dreams are always on tap
Your can register now with our convenient app
Adonis moves around to the four corners, climbing onto the bottom rope to throw
out travel brochures as far as he can.
That’s right, KABLAM is expanding…
It’s the dream of Derek Adonis
Come in KABLAMia, summy KABLAMian
We mean YOU!
After finishing (heh), Adonis moves to the middle of the ring, posing with the
four women around him. As the song ends, he bellows out with it...
Adonis: "KABLAAAAAAAAAAAAM!"
Sharper: “Dexter Grant obviously not amused with Derek Adonis, but this could
be a huge match for Derek tonight if he can be the first person to actually
stop the Adrenaline Champion just as he's on the verge of challenging for the
Underground Championship at Taking Hold of the Flame.”
Knots: “Man Mountain could set himself up to bring a ton of gold back to
KABLAMia! Think of the marketing campaign he could run on social media!”
As Jason Phillips starts to leave the ring, Sweet Sangria suddenly approaches
him and asks for the mic, and Phillips hands it over before exiting. She hands
the mic over to Derek, who thanks her before turning his attention to Dexter
and Wendell, who have moved to a corner as the former looks even more irritated
than before while Wendell is trying to shield his eyes.
Adonis: “You know something, Dexter? You and your friend over there seem pretty
stressed out. Obsessing over social media the way you are...”
Grant: “These idiots are the ones who are obsessed! I'm trying to save them!”
Dexter's shouting from the corner garners some boos, but Derek seems unfazed by
the interruption.
Adonis: “Look man, I'm not here to judge. But what I am here to do is help. I
think you two could use a little vacation, maybe let the tension just flow out
of you, if you know what I mean!”
The fans cheer, with some chants of “KABLAM!” starting up. Wendell looks up at
this, but Dexter just huffs and pushes him towards the ropes, demanding that he
leave the ring before motioning to the referee for the bell to ring already.
Adonis: “Your friend over there seemed interested! Why don't you let him decide
if he wants to go on the vacation of a lifetime and come back a new man?
KABLAM!”
Dexter stomps up to Derek and slaps the mic out of his hands. The fans boo this
as Derek holds his hands up and slowly backs off while referee Steve
Hollinsworth steps in to keep Dexter from jumping the gun. As the KABLAMia
tourism board step out of the ring, Derek stops Anastasia Fantasia once she's
on the apron and says something to her, nodding his head towards where Dexter
has been forced back into his corner while Wendell is nervously trying to clap
his hands and start a supportive chant for Dexter, to no avail. Anastasia nods
before she joins the other girls on the floor.
Once he checks with both men to make sure they’re ready now that things have
calmed down, Steve Hollinsworth signals for the bell. Immediately, Dexter bolts
across the ring, jumping onto Derek who catches him but stumbles back into the
corner. Dexter starts pounding away on Derek, snarling at him as Hollinsworth
moves in and starts a five count for Dexter to back off. Once he gets close and
it’s clear Dexter isn’t going to stop, he physically grabs Dexter and tries to
pull him away, which is what finally gets Dexter to stop. His assault doesn’t
pause for long, however, as he charges back in and catches Derek across the
face with a boot! Derek drops to a seated position in the corner as Dexter
lingers with his foot hooked over the top rope for a moment, seething with rage
as he stares out at the booing fans.
Sharper: “Dexter not in the mood for anything Adonis is selling as he’s all
over Man Mountain right out of the gate.”
Knots: “Maybe Derek’s right! Dexter does need to lighten up with this whole
anti-social media crusade of his, and Derek was nice enough to practically
offer him a free vacation he just turned down!”
Sweet Sangria can be seen leaning in close and kissing Derek on the cheek to
try and get him back in the fight, and while it works to help him start trying
to pull himself back to his feet, it leaves him wide open for Dexter to charge
in with a clothesline! Derek staggers out of the corner as Dexter hops up onto
the second rope, motioning for Derek to turn around before he catches him with
a front missile dropkick! Dexter goes for the cover.
1!
2!
Derek Adonis kicks out! Dexter is beside himself despite it being so early in
the match still as he hops back to his feet and backs Steve Hollinsworth into a
corner, demanding that he should’ve had a three count, but Hollinsworth stands
his ground.
Sharper: “Dexter not looking to get paid by the hour tonight. You almost wonder
if that’s because he thinks so little of Adonis or if he just wants to get out
of here before Veil potentially tries something.”
Knots: “Hard to say for sure if Veil’s scheming something, but the KABLAMia
Tourism Board certainly might be!”
As Dexter keeps arguing with Holinsworth, the camera catches Anastasia Fantasia
slowly starting to make her way around the ringside area. Dexter gives up on
his argument and turns to start stomping away on Adonis before rolling him over
and applying a camel clutch. Hollinsworth checks in to see if he submits as the
rest of the KABLAMia Tourism Board get the crowd clapping to try and rally
Derek on, Adonis refusing to submit even as Dexter applies more pressure. We
cut to a different camera angle out on the floor, still showing Dexter’s
submission attempt in the ring but more focused on Anastasia as she approaches
Wendell, who’s pounding the mat in support of Dexter.
Anastacia: “Excuse me, handsome.”
Wendell pauses and does a double take as he realizes who’s approached him,
pointing at himself in confusion.
Wendell: “M-Me?”
Anastacia: “Of course you.”
Wendell almost looks taken aback, even trying to motion to some fans in the
front row nearby who are watching this unfold with interest. In the ring behind
them, Derek has slowly managed to get his feet under him, but once he manages
to get back up, Dexter transitions his hold into a tiger suplex! As
Hollinsworth gets into position to count, though, Dexter releases the bridge,
standing up and marching over to the ropes where Wendell and Anastacia are.
Grant: “Don’t buy anything she’s selling, Wendell! And you, why don’t you
rejoin the rest of your little entourage in watching me Disconnect your
so-called ‘Man Mountain’?”
Wendell takes a few steps back from Anastacia as Dexter sneers down at her
before returning his focus to Derek. He leans down to pull him to his feet, but
Derek suddenly wraps his arms around him and lifts Dexter up into a bearhug!
Steve Holinsworth checks in as Derek squeezes harder, but Dexter audibly yells
out his refusal.
Sharper: “Dexter letting his attention be diverted and now Adonis with this
bearhug, trying to squeeze the life out of him!”
Knots: “I bet he wishes that bearhug was coming from any of the ladies around
the ring instead!”
Derek continues trying to squeeze the life out of Dexter, but he manages to get
an arm free and starts punching Adonis in the forehead. All this results in,
however, is Derek planting him with a bearhug slam! Derek looks over and nods
to Anastacia before standing up and letting out a hearty “KABLAM!” that the
fans echo. Derek measures Dexter before connecting with an elbow drop, holding
the position for a cover!
1!
2!
Dexter Grant kicks out! We cut back to see Wendell pounding on the apron,
trying to rally Dexter, before Anastacia wraps her arms around him from behind,
really pressing up against his back.
Anastacia: “You’re stronger than you look, handsome, but you feel so tense.
Relax, let me give you a preview of what could await you if you wish to take a
trip to KABLAMia.”
Wendell doesn’t seem sure if he’s the luckiest man alive right now or if he
should be trying to resist, but Anastacia pulls away and starts giving his
shoulders a bit of a massage that has him looking about ready to melt on the
spot. Derek, meanwhile, has pulled Dexter to his feet and tries to irish whip
him into the corner, but Dexter reverses it and sends him in instead! Dexter
begins to follow him in before catching his flunky out of the corner of his
eye. He skids to a halt and turns to Wendell and Anastacia out on the floor,
but Derek suddenly plows him over with a running shoulder tackle! He
immediately follows this up with a big splash! Derek goes for the cover.
1!
2!
Dexter Grant gets a shoulder up!
Sharper: “Derek Adonis firmly in control and Dexter Grant could be on the verge
of finally tasting defeat!”
Knots: “Dexter needs to worry less about his sidekick, who definitely deserves
the vacation he’s being offered right now, and worry more about the hit his
crusade will take if this is how he finally loses!”
Derek starts to pull Dexter to his feet before hooking him for a suplex. He
lifts him up, perhaps looking for a brainbuster, but Dexter kicks his legs to
force Derek to drop him before raking him in the eyes! The cheers of the fans
quickly turn to boos as Derek staggers away and Steve Hollinsworth admonishes
Dexter, but he just pushes past the referee and hooks Derek in a cobra clutch
before planting him with the Unplugged! Instead of going for the cover, though,
Dexter grabs Derek and drapes his throat across the middle rope before kneeling
across his back, choking him right in front of Anastacia who immediately lets
go of Wendell.
Grant: “This is the kind of person you follow? This slob who’s no different
than any basement-dweller using social media to pretend to be important!?”
The fans are booing relentlessly as Dexter stops before Hollinsworth
disqualifies him. Dexter motions to Wendell before reigniting his argument with
the referee over his flagrant rulebending, making sure Hollinsworth’s attention
is away from Derek. Wendell nervously looks between Derek and Anastacia before
going to try and throw a punch at Derek while he’s still draped over the middle
rope, but Anastacia grabs his arm to stop him! The fans can’t help but cheer
that as she pulls Wendell away, saying something we’re not able to pick up
before reaching into her top and clearly pulling out a folded up KABLAMia
brochure from her cleavage, slowly unfolding it and offering to go through it
together. Wendell’s face is a bright red at this point as he actually nods
eagerly at this, looking the happiest we’ve probably seen him in a while. This
is immediately interrupted by Dexter leaning over the top rope, trying to swipe
the brochure but failing as he demands that Wendell step away from her. Wendell
hesitantly complies, apologizing to Anastacia. She just shoots Dexter a glare
before trying to get close to Wendell again, but Dexter reaches again and grabs
her by the hair this time! The fans are booing relentlessly, but they quickly
turn to cheers as Derek grabs Dexter from behind and connects with a sitout
full nelson drop!
Sharper: “Dexter once again getting distracted and Adonis is lining him up
now!”
Dexter rolls to the corner, slowly pulling himself to his feet as Derek moves
to the opposite corner, wiggling his body as all the ladies of the KABLAMia
Tourism Board do the same, the fans getting hyped. Derek charges, looking for
the Kablam! as the fans even call it out, but Dexter explodes out of the corner
and cuts Derek off with the Clickbait! The cheers die out as Dexter spits out
at the fans before grabbing the stunned Derek and planting him with the Detox
Drop! He goes for the cover, hooking the leg.
1!
2!
3!
The bell rings as “TokSik” by Starset hits again, the fans booing loudly as
Dexter rolls off of Derek and glares out at Anastacia on the floor. She looks
disappointed, but still holds out the brochure as Wendell hesitantly takes it.
That seems to be enough for her as she goes to rejoin the other ladies in
collecting Derek as he rolls out of the ring.
Phillips: “Here is your winner, by pinfall… Dexter Grant!”
Dexter snaps at Wendell to tear up the brochure he just took as we clearly hear
Sharper about to say something, but he cuts himself off as all the lights
suddenly go out!
Sharper: “I was about to comment on Dexter’s victory, but now we’re in complete
darkness!”
Knots: “Guess Dexter didn’t win fast enough!”
As the fans are buzzing, a lone spotlight suddenly comes on, illuminating
Dexter clearly as he rises to his feet.
Grant: “Nope! We’re not doing this crap! Screw this easy social media
clickbait!”
Dexter shakes his head as he yells before he starts heading towards the ropes.
Before he can climb out of the ring, however, one of his arms is suddenly
trapped behind his back! Dexter is jerked back as the spotlight reveals Veil
having appeared from the darkness right before he proceeds to drop the
Adrenaline Champion with The Hollowing!
Sharper: “Veil! From the darkness! Dropping the Adrenaline Champion and sending
a very clear message!”
Knots: “Dexter can think what he wants, but it doesn’t change the fact that we
could be looking at the new Adrenaline Champion after Taking Hold of the
Flame!”
Veil slowly rises to his feet, staring blankly down at Dexter as he lies on the
mat. Through the spotlight, we can see Wendell panicking out on the floor but
clearly afraid to climb into the ring to help the Digital Detoxer. Veil just
continues to stand over Dexter and stare down at him before the spotlight goes
out, plunging the entire arena into complete darkness once more.
COMMERCIALS
Returning from commercial, we see Wendell walking out of one locker room. In his hand is still the pamphlet he was given.
Wendell: “Okay…water…just need….to….”
Wendell takes a few more steps before we hear Destiny Page’s voice as she’s on the phone.
Page: “Just do what you can to keep them away. My statement is I have nothing to do with them and that account, okay…thanks.”
Page hangs up and turns as Wendell gulps.
Wendell: “Uh…hi…uh…”
Page: “Wendell. How are you? Where’s Dexter?”
Wendell: “Oh, you didn’t see. He was jumped by Veil. He sent me for some water.”
Page: “Just down the hall. We’ve got a station there.”
Wendell: “Uh…thanks.”
Page then notices the pamphlet in Wendell’s hand.
Page: “Oh…I saw the door hangers. I didn’t take you for…”
Wendell: “Oh…uh…”
Wendell throws the pamphlet down to the ground.
Wendell: “No, it’s nothing. It’s uh…filth. Yeah and….uh….”
Page: “Oh, it’s a shame. I was thinking about taking a trip there. They also have a great spa and relaxation centre. It’s apparently beautiful. Even just to relax from everything.”
Wendell: “Oh…well…I….it’s a great place. Checking it out….I need to go.”
Wendell nervously leaves as Page shrugs before we then see Chris and Ryan Hollywood enter the scene. Destiny sighs briefly, but the “brothers” don’t notice it.
Chris: “Dest! Great to found you. We’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
Ryan: “One of your fans. You’ve got so many. And you’re killing it on social media.”
Page: “Wait, but I-“
Chris: “And we have a statement we want to pass by you. Basically, it’s an ultimatum. It’s clear the producers don’t know what they have on their hands with you.”
Ryan: “Well not literally on their hands. Hollywood’s apparently done with that.”
Chris: “Well we hope.”
Page: “Guys! Guys…I’ve taken care of it. Look, I have another table read with them….it’s…look, I’ve been told I can’t say where. Just…I’ve got this.”
Chris: “Table read….a bit cutting it close.”
Ryan: “They’re going to fit you in there. I mean last time, they digitally had you in. Guess there are edits.”
Chris: “I did hear the test audiences didn’t like the ending.”
Ryan: “Or the middle.”
Destiny raises an eyebrow briefly at this point. They turn to her and her expression changes to normal.
Ryan: “Okay, you do it…you’ll kick ass as you’re you.”
Chris: “We could help-“
Page: “No…no…it’s okay. I’ve got it. Okay…got it.”
Page then turns and heads off as Chris and Ryan turn to one another.
Chris: “Table read at this stage. This may be bad. Are they reputable?”
Ryan: “They produce the Dependables.”
Chris: “We need to find out where this table read is. For Dest.”
Ryan: “For Dest.”
Chris then stops and looks down and sees the crumpled up pamphlet. He grabs it and looks at it.
Ryan: “What’s that?”
Chris: “I think I know where we need to go.”
Chris and Ryan high-five before they walk off.
The scene opens up to the SCW interview area again where Jaina Lancaster stands with the SCW United States Champion, Asher Hayes.
Jaina: “I am here now with the SCW interim US Champion, Asher Hayes and Asher, you had time scheduled in the ring, but, you’ve asked to now have this interview here backstage.”
Hayes: “I did…I…I don’t know if I want to go out there and have more of my personal life under siege by Jordan Majors. I don’t know what else she took a picture of. Clearly, I was drunk. Clearly, I was having fun with a friend. But as a result, I now have more questions I need to answer to with my wife, my family, my friends, even SCW.”
Hayes pauses for a moment.
Hayes: “To have everything I had hoped to work on in this return…to move on from that party past, to move on from that person…and to be dragged back by Jordan and then…to go through that. Nevermind that I was left with nothing after I woke up. That she left me there having to find my way back.”
Hayes looks down.
Hayes: “And I don’t even have good answers and I don’t know what other surprises there may be. All because Jordan wanted some revenge and I guess wanted to hold this. Well…I don’t know how to deal with the rest, but I can deal with this.”
Hayes looks to the US Title.
Hayes: “I came back to give the fans their money’s worth when they saw Asher Hayes’s name on the card. And damn it, I’m going to try and do that. Jordan…you want this…at Taking Hold of the Flame, I’ll put it on the line. I’ll give you your shot to try and win this legitimately. I’ll try to-“
Asher looks off camera.
Asher: “You…”
The camera turns as Jordan Majors stands there, laughing.
Majors: “You don’t get it. You’re not in the place to make demands or defend anything. You want me…you want to hold that title legitimately…then you know what you need to say!”
Majors points to herself.
Majors: “I am the actual US champion. Beg me for your rematch, Asher! Beg me and I may consider it!”
Majors walks forward.
Hayes: “That’s not how things work.”
Majors: “They do now. Or do you want me to reveal some more. I took a lot of pictures. I had a lot of fun. And how much of it was on your credit cards. Has your wife found the bill there?”
Hayes: “Enough of this!”
Majors: “Just say what you know is true and-“
We then hear the voice of CHBK, Alex Desoubrais.
CHBK: “We’re not going to play this game.”
CHBK walks into the scene and over to Jaina and Asher. Majors looks at both.
CHBK: “Asher…I’ll grant the match. Majors, you’ll be challenging Hayes for the SCW interim US Championship at Taking Hold of the Flame.”
Majors: “My title-“
CHBK: “Which SCW does not recognize. So…”
Majors looks at Asher and CHBK and then throws her arms up and walks off. Hayes turns to CHBK.
Hayes: “Thanks…”
CHBK: “Don’t thank me. She wins, you’ll never hear the end of it.”
CHBK turns and walks off. Hayes sighs and nods before looking at Jaina and then walking off.
“Psycho in my Head” plays as the Breakdown logo comes up on the screen and we see a still for Syren vs. Clyde Sutter come up on the screen.
Sharper: “After Sutter attacked Syren last week, our main event, and both are in the Taking Hold of the Flame. They clash, NEXT, on Breakdown.”
The scene fades out.
COMMERCIALS
Syren vs. Clyde Sutter
The lights in the arena go out as the opening chords of “Unforgiven” by Metallica begins to play. As the song picks up its pace a spotlight shines at the top of the ramp and we see “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter standing there with a sinister grin on his face. He is joined by the beautiful Melinda Braddock.
Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall with TV time remaining and is your main event of the evening. First, on his way to the ring, accompanied by Melinda Braddock, from Southampton, England, he is the Assassin, Clyde Sutter!”
After a few moments of soaking in the crowd reaction, which he seems to enjoy despite their booing, Sutter and Melinda begin to make their slow walk down the ramp. The spotlight follows the sinister sociopath as he approaches the ring. They reach the ring area and Melinda kisses him on his cheek. Sutter then foregoes the steel steps as he leaps up from the floor to the ring apron. With the spotlight remaining only on Sutter as one of the few lights in the arena at the moment, Sutter enters the ring and then stand in the center. The sound of Metallica dies down and the lights come back on.
Sharper: “Sutter deciding that fate was going to have him go after Syren and Syren went to fight the Cowgirls after Ravyn’s plan began, but Sutter was laying in way to break it up.”
Knots: “And it nearly ended really bad for Syren. Real bad. The Straders were looking for blood!”
The
lights in the arena plunge into darkness. A pulsing sound akin to a heartbeat
plays out across the PA system as the fans cheer. The heartbeat gets faster
before “Groupie” by Cassie Steele hits the PA system. After a few moments Syren
comes through the curtain, accompanied by Lexy Chapel on her left and Ravyn
Taylor on her right. Syren pauses on the stage, looking out at the fans
cheering, as Lexy waves her arms, trying to get them to cheer even louder for
her client. Ravyn whispers something to Syren, who smiles and nods.
Sinfully Seductive
Captivatingly Corrupt
DARK FANTASY
Syren walks down the ramp. She jumps up onto the apron before climbing the
turnbuckles on the outside and waving her hands to get the fans fired up. As
the camera gets closer to her, she shouts at the camera before pointing out at
the fans. The camera switches to Lexy who yells about her client and the ‘Lexy
Nation’ appreciating them.
Phillips: “His opponent, being accompanied by Lexy Chapel and Ravyn Taylor and
representing LexyCorp International, hailing from Los Angeles, California, this
is SYREN!”
Syren smiles before leaping over the top rope and unclipping the title,
dropping to her knees in the ring, posing with both her arms outstretched,
palms facing up, and holding up the Adrenaline title with her right hand. Lexy
rolls into the ring and stands over her, pointing down at her client. She
offers both her hands to Syren, pulling her up. Syren takes off her ring jacket
and hands it to Lexy as Ravyn claps and stands off to the side. She climbs up
on the middle rope, posing for a moment and then jumping back down and standing
in her corner with Lexy and Ravyn as her music fades out.
Sharper: “Meanwhile, Syren needs this win badly. She’s been struggling. The Cowgirls from Hell haven’t helped as they’ve made Syren a specific target and cost her two matches.”
Knots: “At least she’s not number one in the Flame!”
Sharper “True, but that could be almost worst. She wasn’t a factor in the decision. All of that has to be weighing on her and we know the Cowgirls from Hell are here.”
The bell sounds and Sutter smirks as Syren looks at him. Sutter then steps up as Syren then looks at him and steps up and nails Sutter with a forearm shot. She hits another and another. Sutter staggers as Syren then grabs him and goes to run him into the corner. Sutter blocks it and elbows Syren in the jaw. Syren staggers back. Sutter then steps up and goes for a hard right. Syren ducks and then ducks a left before then forearming Sutter in the jaw again. He staggers and Syren runs into the ropes. She bounces off and Sutter grabs her and hoists her up, but Syren shifts her legs and lands behind him. Sutter turns and Syren hits a dropkick. Sutter hits the mat. He then gets up and Syren hits a second dropkick. Sutter gets back up and Syren kicks him in the chest as he gets up and nails him with a hard right. Sutter falls into the corner. Syren climbs up to the middle turnbuckle and nails Sutter with shot after shot after shot. The crowd roars before Sutter shoves her off. Syren rolls through to her feet. She then gets up and runs at Sutter and jumps up to the middle turnbuckle and nails him with a hard right and then another and another before he shoves her off again!
Sharper: “And Syren shoved back as she comes right at the Assassin!”
Knots: “And Sutter just throwing her off!”
Syren gets back up and jumps up, but Sutter this time catches her by the throat. He then walks out and throws her down. Syren hits the mat and rolls over. She gets up and Sutter follows up and nails her with a hard right. Syren hits the mat. She gets back up and Sutter kicks her in the ribs and pushes her into the ropes and fires her off. Syren bounces off the other side and Sutter hits a back drop. Syren rolls over and gets up and Sutter then pushes her into the corner. Sutter shoulders her in the ribs once and then again and again. He then leans in, choking her. Demitra, the referee, counts.

Sutter lets go and Syren falls to a knee. Sutter then backs up and says something to Demitra before turning back to Syren and whipping her across the ring. Sutter runs after her and Syren gets a boot up. She then spins through to the apron. Sutter turns and Syren grabs him and hits a guillotine drop. Sutter staggers and Syren springboards to the top rope and hits the Beauty Mark. She rolls through and dives onto him, nailing him with a series of hard right hands.
Sharper: “And Syren coming back. Big forearm. Right to the jaw.”
Knots: “That caught Sutter good and Syren’s just hammering away now.”
Sharper: “Syren seems to be fighting fate head on.”
Syren gets up and walks around the ring. She then hits a running leg drop. Sutter rolls over and starts to get up and Syren gets up and hits another leg drop to the back of his head. Sutter rolls to the ropes. Syren gets up and stomps him a couple of times in the chest while he’s along the ropes. Syren backs up and walks around the ring. Sutter pulls himself up and Syren kicks him in the ribs. She then backs up and kicks him in the chest. He pops up and Syren runs into the ropes and bounces off and Sutter suddenly hits the Clothesline from Hell. Syren backflips from the impact and rolls over. The crowd ohs. Sutter looks out at the crowd.
Sharper: “Good lord.”
Knots: “Hello! Syren! You still with us!”
Sharper: “Just turned inside out. Sutter had everything behind that clothesline.”
Knots: “The Cowgirls from Hell just patched that clothesline into their club.”
Sutter then pulls himself up as Melinda Braddock applauds. Sutter then turns around as Syren slowly stirs and Sutter grabs her and whips her into the ropes. Syren bounces off and Sutter launches her into the air. He then moves out of the way and Syren lands hard to the mat. She rolls over. Sutter then walks over and drives his elbow into her chest. He follows up with a lateral press.

Syren kicks out. Sutter looks down and grabs her by the hair. He drags her up and runs her into the corner, driving her face first into the top turnbuckle. She turns around and Sutter knees her in the ribs once and then again before then scooping her up and running out and hitting a sidewalk slam.
Sharper: “And Sutter taking his time. Methodically scooping up the hall of famer and planting her.”
Knots: “Making her think about it. You know it’s coming and there’s nothing she can do about it.”
Sutter hooks the legs.

Syren kicks out again. She rolls over. She reaches out and Sutter grabs her and drags her up and whips her into the corner. Sutter runs after and hits a clothesline in the corner. He then backs up and scoops her up onto his shoulder. He then runs to the corner and goes for a snake eyes, but Syren slides down and shoves Sutter into the corner. He turns around and Syren hits an enziguri kick. He staggers as Syren runs into the ropes, bouncing off and jumping up, and hitting the Syren’s Call. She turns and covers Sutter.

2!
Sutter kicks out. Syren rolls off and looks out.
Sharper: “And Syren fighting back. Syren’s Call only getting two.”
Knots: “But she needed to stop that. Sutter just suffocates you with his offense.”
Syren rolls over and starts to get up as we see Meghan Strader walk out from the back, joined by Cara Strader. Ravyn Taylor looks up at ringside as Lexy starts to point frantically. Ravyn swats her hand down as Melinda Braddock smirks. Meghan starts to pull out leather gloves and putting them on. Cara follows.
Sharper: “Syren back in control, but now you see Meghan Strader. You see Cara Strader.”
Knots: “And SCW isn’t footing the bill for the damaged hog. That means Syren does owe them money!”
Syren then starts to get up and looks at them as she then turns and Sutter stirs and Syren runs past him and then hits a running facebuster. She then gets up and moves to the corner. She climbs up to the top rope. She looks at Sutter and dives off with an elbow drop. She goes for the pin.
1!
2!
Sutter kicks out. Syren looks up as Meghan and Cara start to walk down to the ring. Sutter rolls over as Melinda heads over to the ropes, yelling something at him. Sutter smirks as he gets up and Syren then heads over to him and grabs him, but Sutter manages to struggle enough before turning and guiding Syren into Demitra. Demitra goes down. Sutter smirks as he falls back down. Syren then starts to get up as Ravyn turns and moves Lexy out of the way before moving to Jason Phillips. She pulls him down and grabs a steel chair. Syren then starts to get up and Ravyn folds up the steel chair, but Lexy yells out as Syren turns and Mackenzie Strader and Tearra Skye hop the barricade. They slide in and Mackenzie walks into a superkick! Tearra then runs at Syren and Syren ducks and hits a second one. The crowd erupts as Syren staggers as Meghan and Cara run down to the ring and Syren then turns before Sutter can grab her and runs at the ropes and dives over onto Meghan and Cara. The crowd erupts!
Sharper: “Syren was ready for them! The Cowgirls tried to do a double attack. Lexy warned Syren and Syren hit two superkicks and then diving onto the Cowgirls!”
Knots: “And now she has her. Lucky shots!”
Sutter rolls to the floor as Syren rolls over and starts to get up and Ravyn heads around the ring with the steel chairs. Meghan gets up and Syren nails her with a couple of hard right hands. She then backs up and goes for a superkick, but Sutter grabs her and spins her around before hoisting her up and hitting a spinebuster. He then grabs Syren and rolls her into the ring. Sutter slides in, but Ravyn instead has slid into the ring and Sutter gets up only for Ravyn to throw the chair into the face of Sutter. Sutter falls to a knee, stunned by the chair throw. The chair bounces and moves to the ropes. Melinda goes to get up, but Demitra has started to get up. Syren grits her teeth and gets up as Sutter pulls himself up, but walks right into the Total Makeover!
Sharper: “Assist from Ravyn! And Syren! Total Makeover!”
Knots: “No! How?!”
Syren turns and hooks the leg. Demitra turns and sees the pin.
1!
2!
3!
The bell sounds. The crowd roars.
Sharper: “The Cowgirls from Hell couldn’t cost her this one and fate was on her side tonight!”
Knots: “For now! Here comes the Straders! Here comes the Cowgirls!”
Cara turns as Ravyn blocks her and starts to fight with her. Meghan however slides into the ring. Syren starts to get up and Meghan gets up and clotheslines her down. The crowd ohs and Meghan turns and dives onto her, hammering away on her. Sutter rolls over as we then see Kimberly Williams rolling out her shopping cart full of weapons. The crowd erupts. She then starts to run down, pushing the cart to the ringside area. Ravyn rolls Cara into the ring. She gets up as Mackenzie and Tearra start to recover. They run over to Ravyn as the crowd cheers for Kim. Kim then stops at the ringside area and throws a trash can into the ring before throwing in a mop bucket and then a chair before throwing in a cheese grater and a couple of cooking sheets. The crowd roars as Kim then enters the ring and she grabs a cooking sheet and turns and nails Tearra in the back. Tearra turns as Kim goes to Meghan. She then throws the sheet onto Syren as Lexy looks around.
Sharper: “Kim now down here as a war has broken out. Cowgirls! Infamous! Sutter’s in there and Kimberly Williams.”
Knots: “She saw chaos and is contributing!”
Cara runs over and nails Kim from behind to stop her as Ravyn then heads over to Meghan. We then see Sutter starting to get up and he nails Ravyn from behind. Meghan turns as Syren rolls over. Mackenzie stomps on Syren as she tries to get up. Kim and Tearra struggle as we see Dante Slayton, Alex Belmont and Wil Pierce run down to the ring. They slide in and join the fray as the crowd cheers more. Dante goes after Sutter as Pierce goes after Meghan and Belmont attacks Tearra before Syren attacks them.
Knots: “Shinigami Foundation now!”
Sharper: “And look! Selena Frost now…”
Selena Frost walks out from the back and stands on the stage. She walks to the side and smirks, shaking her head. The crowd boos seeing her as she looks down to the ring, seeing the chaos.
Sharper: “And Selena looking down. Number forty.”
Knots: “They can all go for one another and it may not matter! Stats are on her side!”
Selena continues to watch as the war continues to break out, Meghan continuing to try and go for Syren as Syren fights through to get to her and they trade blows, leading to a roar from the crowd. We then see Polly Pingotti run down from the back. The crowd roars as she runs down and then slides in and grabs the steel chair Ravyn Taylor had used on Sutter. She lifts it up and nails Belmont in the back with it before nailing Sutter in the back and then nailing Meghan Strader in the back for good measure. She turns and drives it into the ribs of Syren. Syren drops to the mat, before Mackenzie Strader tries to stop Polly. Polly holds on as Cara goes for her too. Polly starts to fight both as Selena just scoffs. The camera turns as the crowd roars. Ryan LeCavalier walks up behind Selena.
Sharper: “Polly Pingotti getting her licks in. Even got a shot in on Meghan Strader and Syren for good measure.”
Knots: “Wait…look again!”
Sharper: “Selena! Look behind you!”
LeCavalier then spins Selena around and Selena swings out of instinct, but right into LeCavalier who takes her down and locks in the Body/Prison! Selena yells out, trying to grab at the stage or anything for leverage as Ryan pulls back. The crowd cheers.
Sharper: “She’s got Selena! She’s got her!”
Knots: “Get her off!”
Sharper: “What’s going to happen at Taking Hold of the Flame?!”
The crowd roars as the fight continues in the ring, as Sutter grabs at Ravyn, attacking her, Kim fights with Slayton, and Polly battles with Mackenzie Strader, while Syren and Meghan recover, and Belmont and Pierce pair off with Tearra and Mackenzie. Ryan LeCavalier keeps the hold on Selena Frost on the stage as the scene slowly fades to black…
