Destined
Grace, mercy, and peace be to all of you, my brothers and sisters, and what a great day it is….and…I apologize…but I can't put on this facade any longer.
I have a confession to make.
I, Brother Simon Lyman, have a member of my family that is not being honest. But my real confession is that I have a twin brother that I have never mentioned at all. There Is nothing else that I can say about that other than I apologize brothers and sisters. Nearly thirty years in the industry and almost a year since I have been called by HIM to be your SAVIOR, and never once have I mentioned my brother, Ryan. I never thought that I would need truthfully, but there are lies by omission as well, and so lied to the world. I hate to admit this but all things being equal? I realize that this means that I am no better than Sister Amy Chastaine, no better Brother Joshua Hudson or Sister Bree Lancaster.
Does that make you as sick to your stomach hearing me say that as it does me saying it? It should. Whether it is one lie or a thousand lies, it does not matter to HIM. HE hates liars and now I have put myself in the position of being no better than even Sister Whore! (Gasp!)
I am aware now that I cannot continue to lie to all of you any longer, just like I cannot lie to HIM any longer. The right thing to do and what I am doing right now is to just beg for forgiveness and face the bitter truth.
I have a twin brother named Ryan Lyman and despite the fact that I have been lying about this for so long, please trust me when I tell you that Brother Ryan is not a good man. To say that he is the black sheep of the Lyman family is the understatement of this or any year for that matter. That is why I hid his identity from anyone that even remotely mattered to me for so long, because I didn’t want him to take advantage of anyone and believe he would have. I have no doubt. For him, taking advantage of other people for his personal gain is just like breathing. There was a time that I tried another lifetime ago to try and change my brother, Brother Ryan, because I do love my brother, very much actually, but I realized over time that changing for the positive was just never in the cards for Brother Ryan, unfortunately.
The problem now becomes however, that he has established himself in my profession, with friends, trying to pretend that he is me! You watch brothers and sisters, just as sure as my given name is Braeden Simon Lyman he will come out with a statement trying to say that he really is Simon and he has been the one that has been lying to you all of these years. That I really am Ryan and that I am trying to convince all of you I am the con artist which is what he is!
You can tell now brothers and sisters just how much he gets under my skin, oh brother of mine. What an inconvenient time for all of this to be happening as well, as going soon here in Supreme Championship Wrestling for two weeks as the annual time of excitement known as Fatal Fortunes. Every Championship that is a part of the company will be defended during this and everyone on the roster will be involved in some type of match, though you won't know your opponent or the stipulations until you arrive at the arena. Nothing is booked in advance. I've heard rumors for years that every thing involved in booking these two nights is drawn out of a hat by CHBK, and while I want to say no, I do know better than most that Alex is not intelligent enough to leave everything to chance necessarily.
But, yes you are hearing me right, just like everyone else in this company I could possibly be involved in a title opportunity during the next two weeks and if I were to win a title? All glory be on to HIM! Such is the excitement of Fatal Fortunes. Those of you that can remember correctly will note that Fatal Fortunes is something that I have been successful in the past as well when I carried my team to victory with the coat tail riding expert Brother Donovan Kayl over Brother David Helms and the husband of Sister Whore, Brother Thomas Valentine. Many people who witnessed this match said it was one of the greatest tag team matches that they have ever seen. I just called it another night where I was overworked and underappreciated. Such is my life though. I just give, and give, and give some more, all to the glory of him.
I digress however, because while that is true, all of it, there are more important things to consider at this point, which leads to the SCW World Champion, Brother Xander Valentine.
Now as soon as I say his name, I am sure that many of you started rolling your eyes saying, “Sure Simon, you and everyone else in SCW is hoping that you get a match with Xander during Fatal Fortunes!” and you would be right. What you may not remember though is Brother Xander and I, we have history and history has a second chapter that needs to be written before our story is complete. It was nearly ten years ago on new years eve of 2014, when Brother Xander and I stepped in the squared circle. I had just had 1 of my roughest years as a professional wrestler, and I was just trying to remember who I was. Brother Xander was in the middle of a second undefeated streak that he hoped would lead him back to the championship that he holds.
In short, everyone thought that I was going to lose that night, but just like so many times when the deck is stacked against me in my career and my life, I could not be stopped that night. Brother Xander watched as the referee raised my hand in victory that night, and brothers and sisters I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that Brother Xander has been pining for a rematch ever since, and who could blame him. If you were in the middle of an undefeated streak and out of nowhere someone came and ended it just like that, would you want a rematch to prove that it was nothing more than fluke? You certainly would and there is nothing that Brother Xander wants more in the world even more than the world championship. For my part, I just needed to wait until this match would really mean something significant to me and what could be more significant than a rematch 10 years in the making? Nevermind the fact that when I beat Brother Xander this time around, and I will, that I will become the world champion I will have such favor with HIM.
Now certainly, so many people are going to try and say to you brothers and sisters that when going into a match facing such a powerful menace as Brother Xander that my chances are slim to none, and slim is rapidly fading. They will point out that Brother Xander is the world champion, the best that our sport has to offer right now, at the peak of his powers, the top of his game, who has been waiting a decade for this match. Everytime time he has caused someone to Fade to Black in the last ten years he has been imagining that it was me. Now that he finally has this chance to put me to rest, he will not allow himself to be defeated again. Then there is me, a four time world champion and as Brother Xander is himself, one of the very best that the world has ever seen. But I am not the same wrestler, the same person that I once was. I have just come back from a hiatus that started right after Rise to Greatness. It seems that these days I take more hiatuses than I spend time on the active roster. My skill has been greatly diminished since coming back from retirement which was hastened by the stroke I suffered 8 years earlier.
In short, I have no right to expect to compete with him, and Brother Xander and he should dispatch me with no problem. I can understand why they feel that way too, and if I were looking at this match as an outside third party I am almost certain that I would feel the same way. There is no way that I can expect to compete with Brother Xander, let alone defeat him, right?
Wrong.
There is one thing that all of you that do not believe in me brothers and sisters that you need to take into account. My victory has been destined by HIM, preordained. I will take that title and use it as a platform to bring all glory, praise and honor to HIM as looks to cast out all sinful beings who do not repent while HE looks to me to reward the righteous. Reward them I will too, because are the people to which I will say walk with me, I will be your SAVIOR, and I will lead you HOME!
