Roleplay Limits for All Matches?
#11
Curious on if an option could be in the middle of 1 and 2.

For example... 2 RPs 3500 words. For title matches/PPV matches... 5000 words (except TV title normal 3500).

I absolutely love this.

I was hugely against the word limit when it first came in, and yet I freely admit I was wrong. It takes so much pressure off with the 3,500 limit, and I adore it. It’s also let me be inventive in new ways, and refine my style of writing a lot, which I love.

However, when it comes to PPV matches with no limit… it always feels to me like there’s suddenly a TON of pressure on them. This would completely remove that, and genuinely make RPing for PPVs feel like fun and not feel as daunting.

I would be fine with option 2 or option 3.

I voted option 3, but that’s mostly because when you’ve got a huge PPV feud you want to do something special with the promo, which with a 3.5k limit would be a significant chunk of the final RP, if not the whole thing, used up. Therefore if I had a “big conclusion” to a story or something, I’d like the flexibility to split that out across 2. That being said, I doubt I’d actually DO three RPs for an average PPV match, but… it’d be nice to have the flexibility.

Honestly? I'm fine with one rp for weekly shows because I rarely will read my opponent's work until AFTER the rp period is up because I'm used to feds where back and forth was discouraged (one and one...whatever). I'm still in that habit because I feel like I jinx my own flow if I look at what my opponent posted. The limit of 3,500 works perfectly for me. I don't really want to go up to 3 for title matches... because I feel like 2 for them is still a lot when you /can/ go back and forth after the first one drops. But yeah. That's my 2 cents of word salad. Sorry.

I'm fine with any rule set that is decided, but I've been trying to adjust my writing style lately. In the past, I would go all out for Breakdown! and then push even harder for PPVs, which was exhausting. If we want to reduce stress, I support setting a 3,500-word limit and two RPs per match across the board.

This way, I can focus on quality instead of quantity, telling a great story and putting more energy into stronger writing. Personally, I'd even prefer sticking to one solid RP at around 2,000 words (It's my natural word count) because it would let me relax, really focus on my work, and avoid feeling pressured to match anyone else's output. These limits would give me the chance to find my rhythm and deliver my best without burning out.

I voted for three, just because I have seen too many people kill themselves for PPVs, not fun to see. Personally though, it doesn't really matter to me. Most of the time, I am going to do 1 RP. It's just who I am, for better or for worse. Most would say for worse, but I believe in quality over quantity. I just need more time, to put my best effort in consistently.
