”The Extremes Met”

The office of Dr. Glasgen
New York City, New York
February 25th, 2025
1:13pm

“So… you did it on purpose.”

Selena needed only a microsecond to process the voice asking the question. To gauge its tone and inflection. She wasn’t trying to study it completely. The only thing she was searching for was judgment. Not that she cared what the dark-haired woman sitting in the chair thought of her. Hatred was something she had grown quite used to thanks to the former ‘True Believers’ of SCW – the fanbase turning on her as quickly as the flip of a coin or the flick of a light-switch years ago over a damned opinion on a Trios Cash-in. Still, the tone of her therapist would influence Selena’s response – her own tone and voice of it.

In short: she detected no real judgement from the woman. No finger-wagging or condescension. Merely observation and clarification, which the doctor seemed to constantly have – at least every time Selena visited her. So, the Snow Queen’s answer to the woman’s question was a simple word.

“Yes.”

A moment of silence fell between the two of them: therapist and patient; neither one looking away from the other. For the platinum-blonde, it had taken her some time to reach this point, at least in terms of location. The car crash back in Germany had been handled as well as could be expected. Her demand that her Aston Martin vehicle be fixed rather than scrapped had pushed things back on her return to the States – the Frost family staying an extra week in Oberwesel and within the Schonburg Castle. Add her flying in and out of America to take care of things in SCW, at least in what she could manage, and now, near the end of the month, she had finally been able to return home to New York and resume some semblance of her old routine.

It was… odd, to say the least.

She knew she should be happy with how things had been resolved. Blake Mason was out of SCW – beaten out by Selena at the pay-per-view and, if rumors were true, he had taken all his cohorts and resources with him – the ‘beast’ frightened back into its cage. This meant Brittany Lohan as well, meaning no worries about some kind of ‘payback’. And as for The Enigma? Gone. At least if Kristen Scott was to believed, and there certainly wasn’t much stock in THAT as far as Selena was concerned. Still, the man’s attention was no longer on Deanna, it seemed, and that was the important part. All and all, things in SCW seemed normal. She still had her world title rematch contract – and there was no way that was going anywhere soon – meaning she could regain her world title at any time, so THAT was good. The petty squabbles between Xander and The Fall of Man – the stable growing in loudness as they amassed some success was… of little concern to the Snow Queen – though she did worry about her friends Luz and Amelia (Light in the Darkness) as the newlyweds struggled in their war with the new stable. Still, the former world champion, herself, had survived too many wars with stables to count. Infamous and all its various forms, Beauty Network/Factory, Past, Present and Future, The Wonderland, The Brand, all the incarnations of Bloodgrove/New Eden/Coalition, LexyCorp/Lexy-World… all had come and gone, all had tried to destroy her in their quest to ‘rule SCW’… and where were they now?

No, Fall of Man was merely an annoyance right now, at best. Even if the young hotshot, Waylon Creek, somehow managed to become World Champion by defeating Xander at Retribution, it really changed nothing for the Snow Queen. The stable would have their run and eventually, greed would win out. The members would all start thinking of ‘me’ instead of ‘we’, and eventually, they would face the might of SCW and those that were better: Herself, Deanna, Xander (though she was loathed to admit it), Light in the Darkness (who continued to improve despite their setbacks), would rise up and take them down once the ‘shine’ faded from Fall of Man and they learned the true price of being successful within SCW – it was always the same story and Selena had been around long enough to know it well, hence her ‘aloofness’ for lack of a better word where they were concerned.

To reiterate, everything was back to ‘normal’ for her, and with most dire threats eliminated or ‘out of the picture’, she had even arranged to have Deanna move back into the Manhattan ‘Forever Home’ – where she belongs… Selena thought with certainty. Though this meant that her castle in Eyrie Tower felt emptier, this was just… just how things were meant to be.

And she still felt nothing from it all!

The emotional state of the Snow Queen was the only thing that continued to plague her. Since Dusseldorf – as the weeks had progressed following her bloody battle with Blake Mason – her emotional state… was it bipolar disorder? It was the only thing she could think of, because her state had only two settings, it seemed since that fateful match.

Cold, detached and numb – unable to enjoy the same pleasures she had used to. Her workouts, promoting, studying wrestling videos/matches, time with Deanna and their children, it all simply was ‘there’ and failed to bring the same joy and happiness it used to for her…

And then there was the other side – the seething rage that took over her.

It had only happened twice so far, but it was like a damn switch. The first had been her fight with Mason and the other had been when Asher Hayes had opened his mouth to, essentially, flaunt his acquiring of the Interim United States Title. To be frank, it had been pathetic to Selena – and not at all surprising – how Asher was declaring this and that about his title win, the pitiful man needing whatever ‘ego-boost’ and lie he could conjure up to try and feel ‘better’ about being the bitch-bug she had squashed over a year ago to become world champion once more. So his words of being the ‘real’ United States Champion had merely made her roll her eyes. But then he had disrespected Deanna…

And again, that switch had been flipped. Within seconds, she had marched into CHBK’s office and targeted, not him – she had no interest in beating down the loudmouth again – but rather demanding a match with Kristen Scott, who had begun the damn insults towards Deanna and her family in the first place, mouthing off like never before, and all because Deanna wasn’t there to defend herself – basically a coward’s move.

And, like with Mason, once the fuse had blown and Selena had ‘acted’ on it, she had been left, once more, numb and, once more, surprised by her own actions.

What the hell had she been thinking? Offering to put her world-title-rematch-contract on the line just to get to Scott? She hadn’t even officially challenged the woman till that point, nor had she even given the woman a chance to give a response, yet she had offered the very thing that had kept her in a position of power since September if The One managed to steal a win?!

All her planning…
All her waiting…
All the frustrations of watching Hudson run his mouth and Xander gloat in the ring…
All the main-events that she had let go of…

It was all meant to work out – all part of ‘the plan’ – and now, in an instant, just to get her hands on Scott, she was risking EVERYTHING she had worked and waited for! As if simply facing Selena Frost wasn’t worth anything!

And it wasn’t like she didn’t have an answer to the question. In her numb and cold state, she had managed to look back and know EXACTLY what she had been thinking.

Mason. It all went back to Mason – or at least what he had started. She was done wasting time waiting for people to get in the ring with her like he had. Mason had ‘danced’ around her for months – evading her in the chamber, delaying a matchup till Dusseldorf, playing his mind games. Selena was sick of that and she had no desire to bring that out again in dealing with Scott.

No, there was only a handful of days left till the next pay-per-view – that being Retribution – and the Snow Queen wasn’t about to ‘wait’ for an answer from Scott and thus, have to wait more weeks till the next pay-per-view following Retribution to get what she wanted. So, in her rage, she had dangled the biggest carrot she could in front of her target. There was no way anyone would say ‘no’ to that offer – not Kristen or Jake Starr, for that matter. She’d have Scott practically rushing down to the ring to face her…

And like Blake Mason – that was all Selena needed to do what she needed to.

Still… didn’t mean she couldn’t still curse her own stupidity over such a risk/gamble, as she had for the past week since Breakdown. In truth, her reason for coming to Breakdown wasn’t purely to wrestle her assigned match against Chris Lawler. Not that she had any issue with him. The man was a decent wrestler despite his lack of high-success – a mere 35-day run as Underground champion over fifteen years ago his only standout accomplishment – but he was, simply, the same issue she kept dealing with. Veterans, old superstars, coming back for one-last hooray and trying to find it, not by targeting the world champion, but by targeting her. The biggest superstar in SCW.

Josh Hudson had done it. Xander Valentine continued to do it every time he opened his mouth to talk. James Evans had done it. Blake Mason had done it. Adam Brock had done it. Kristen Scott had done it. The list was a long one of people wanting to scale the heights of SCW and seeing Selena as the ‘rocket’ or ‘jetpack’ to get them there. Lawler was no different. He just wanted to ‘beat the best’ and ‘get his career back on track’ and ‘make a statement’ – it was the same story. He would simply learn, just like the others had learned, that the task of actually beating her was far easier said than done and she was nobody’s stepping stone. Nobody’s…

The sound of a clearing of a throat snapped her attention back to the present, and Selena tilted her gaze, refocusing her attention back to the therapist. “I keep doing that don’t I?” she asked, slightly guilty, adjusting her dark-green sweater with her hands. “How long was it this time?” she asked.

“Just a few minutes.” Dr. Glasgen remarked, offering a patient smile.
“Sorry.”
“Don’t be.” She gave a shrug. “It’s your hour.” She added teasingly.
“Such a therapist thing to say.” Selena remarked with a roll of her eyes.

She knew she sometimes did this in their sessions – zoning out to be alone with her thoughts. Maybe it was the way Glasgen asked her questions during their sessions. Maybe it was just the atmosphere, Selena couldn’t be sure. Still, the older woman was patient with Selena and, for that, the Snow Queen was grateful. She enjoyed the clarity such mental-ramblings granted her, better than the pedantic to-and-fro she suffered when alone with her thoughts and thought about SCW, her relationship with Deanna (or whatever it was) and so forth.

“Were you asking me something?” Selena asked, opting to not start another ‘mental-monologue’ in her head as she felt another coming on.

“No.” Glasgen shook her head. “You just told me that you crashed your car on purpose, though you lied to everyone and said it was an accident with ice or slush.”

Selena sighed. “Yes.” She nodded her head. “I wouldn’t have if it had involved someone, obviously.”

“Well, if it was on purpose, I imagine you did it without the intention of hurting someone.” The doctor gave a tilt of her head, her eyes studying Selena sternly. “Right?”

“Of course.” Selena urged. “I remember distinctively checking my mirrors to make sure no one was even remotely near me on the road.”

“And then you swerved into the rail?”

“I…” Selena sighed. “I don’t know. I think so.” She gave a shrug of her shoulders. “Truthfully, I’m not sure what happened. I just wanted to… feel something again.” She admitted. “Ever since Dusseldorf, I’ve felt numb. Like something was broken inside of me. This achingly cold…” she tried to describe it, her hands gesturing unintentionally as she spoke. “numbness?” her eyes flew towards the waiting listener, as if she could find understanding in the woman’s dark eyes. It wasn’t there – not yet. But there was still that look of patience the doctor always carried in their sessions, which was, at least, enough of an encouragement for Selena to continue. “After everything with Mason… seeing him on the mat and bloody – that was the last I felt anything.”

“When the numbness began?” Glasgen asked. “You might have just come down from a very strong, adrenaline high.”

“I know what that is.” Selena sighed, slightly irritated. “This wasn’t it.” She shook her head. “I’ve been in bloody matches before, okay? Cages, weapons, scaffolds, chambers, I’ve done all of it. This wasn’t the ‘high’ of battle – what I usually have felt-“

“And when was the last time you felt that?”

“Well, that was…” Selena started to answer when her eyes went wide in sudden realization. When HAD she felt the elation of battle? The love of wrestling? The exhilaration of a challenge? Of rising up and being better through hard work and passion? The fundamentals she cherished in SCW – or at least she had when she had begun her career as a wrestler. When had she last fought just because… it was fun? When was the last time she had wrestled just because it was… what she loved to do? In a second, though it felt like an eternity to the Snow Queen, her mind raced backwards.

Mason. No.
The Chamber? No.
Her matches with Polly? No.
Hudson and RTG? No, not even then.
Xander? No.
The One and Kandis? No.

Further and further back she mentally raced – faster and faster going through match after match… and she couldn’t find an answer. Not a satisfactory one anyway. Sure, she still loved SCW and wrestling, least she thought so. But the last time she had wrestled and felt something other than anger or the desire to simply dominate or ‘teach a lesson’? The last time she wrestled and simply loved just wrestling?

She simply couldn’t recall.

“I don’t know.” She answered, giving her head another shake, eyes flying back up to stare at Glasgen’s dark-skinned features. “I don’t know.”

“And that says a lot.” Glasgen remarked. “I think – and this is just preliminary guesswork here – but I think this numbness, the lashing out you’ve described, desiring to feel something? I believe it’s all connected. That it’s your body’s way of telling you something, Selena.”

“Telling me something?”

“That your current ‘path’ is lacking several things.” Glasgen observed. “And we need to figure out what those things are. The triggers that are affecting you during these episodes of ‘fury’. Because if we can isolate why they happened, we can figure out what to do about them.”

“Is this your way of getting me hooked on more sessions?” Selena asked, trying to be funny.

“I’m quite serious, Selena.” The woman stated sternly. “This goes back to your mentality that you are ‘the villain’ of your own story and you need to ‘meet some kind of end’ for it to change and over. Such an extreme. And now you’ve admitted to driving your car into a guardrail. You may not have desired to hurt anyone and planned accordingly, but what if your car debris had caused a crash? What if you had missed something and hurt someone? What if you had miscalculated and been hurt? Or worse?”

Selena felt her throat leap up a little at the questions – almost feeling interrogated and trapped, something she did not like in the slightest. She couldn’t possibly control an outcome like that. How could she factor such elements into a decision? What? Was she supposed to expertly calculate how the car would break apart when crashing? What traffic was like? How the wind was blowing? No one could do that!

“I’m not judging you, Selena.” Glasgen interrupted the flow of thoughts in Selena’s mind. “I’m trying to point out that what you chose to do – it’s not normal behaviour. It’s…” she sighed. “It’s borderline suicide.”

“I wasn’t trying to kill myself!” Selena’s voice raised a little, defiantly. “I just wanted-“

“To feel something, yes.” Glasgen nodded. “And you chose, in that moment, to drive a car into a guardrail on a highway. Not talk to me. Not talk to Deanna or a friend. Not try a hobby. Not listen to some music. No, you went for something incredibly extreme. Do you not see that? Like burning a house down because you don’t like the color of the wallpaper.”

Again, Selena fell into a silence, unable to come up with an answer to the assessment. Simply because… it was true. The same thing had happened with Kristen Scott last Breakdown. To get what she had wanted, Selena had immediately acted on an extreme plan. It was like going from Plan A to Plan X or Y or Z without considering Plan B, C, D or any of the others. It wasn’t like her.

“My concern is you jumping to extremes so quickly.” Glasgen explained. “We need to find out way before you do something and hurt yourself or someone.”

“I’ll be fine.” Selena stated. “I’m not being that stupid.”

“I’m not saying you are.” Glasgen sternly corrected. “But what if you’re compelled to act this way again… and your daughters are in the car. Or your son? Or Deanna?”

Selena’s eyes went wide. “Don’t you fucking-“ she suddenly growled.

“I am NOT trying to scare you.” Glasgen pressed, holding out a hand to stop Selena’s growing anger (rapidly growing). “I am trying to help you.”

“By threatening my family?” Selena’s nostrils flared and her hands clenched into fists – she could feel her nails dig into her palms harshly.

“Selena…” Glasgen ordered, placing her notebook down on her lap. “Look at yourself.” She gestured with her free hand, point towards something on her right. Following the hand, Selena spied a tall looking glass, part of the décor of the room…

She saw the narrowed eyes, the flared nostrils, the cold fury in her gaze… her expression.

She looked… monstrous. It was the only word that fit what stared back at her. And the fact that this visage was HERS? And for what? Because of a simple question? A simple remark aimed towards her children? Towards Deanna?

“I think we have found your trigger.” Glasgen sighed, leaning back into her chair, letting the Snow Queen turn her head back towards the doctor, shock and confusion radiating off the former world champion in waves. “The question now becomes… what do we do about it?”

”The Promises We Keep”

Frost ‘Forever Home’
Manhattan, New York
February 26th, 2025
12:49pm

“Well, that’s the last of it!” Deanna remarked as she laid the large tote on the bed, even dusting her hands off. “Didn’t realize the stairs would be so difficult.”

“Haven’t you been training?” came the voice behind her, causing the redhead to turn around to eye the platinum-blonde leaning against the wooden doorway.

“I have.” Deanna sighed. “But I wasn’t allowed to go very far in Kentucky-“
“What about-“
“And your training room in Eyrie Tower doesn’t really have a ring, Selena.” Deanna interrupted. “So it’s been mostly weights and treadmill stuff and only since I left Kentucky.”

“Ah…” Selena nodded her head. “You should have let me carry everything then.” She offered. “At the very least…”

“I needed to do this, okay?” Deanna sighed, reaching up to rub her forehead. “Just… just for myself.” She took a moment to look around the room, her bedroom. One she had not really slept in in months. “But I appreciate you bringing the last of my stuff over.”

The Snow Queen nodded. “Promised I would. Sorry it wasn’t yesterday. I forgot I had a session with Glasgen.”

“How are…” the redhead seemed to hesitate a little, looking away before redirecting her attention back towards the Snow Queen. “How are things going with that?”

“Fine.” Selena shrugged, trying to sound nonchalant. “We’re basically going slow and figuring out where I stand on a lot of things. Work, the family, you and me.”

“You and me? What about you and me?”

“Well… the divorce.” Selena shrugged. “How I feel about it, being away from you, basic stuff like that. She also thinks the family is a ‘trigger’ for me. Pushes me more and more since the breakup.”

“What does that mean?” the redhead asked with a tilt of her head. “She doesn’t blame me for all this, does she?”

“No.” Selena explained, pushing herself off the doorframe. “There’s just…” she tried to find the right words. “With the car crash, and work, and what happened in Dusseldorf, she’s concerned. Some of the choices I made, she feels were sort of extreme.”

Saying nothing at first, Deanna merely nodded her head. “You know Elsianna was asking what you did about Mason.”

Selena’s eyes went wide. Her eldest daughter hadn’t approached her with such a question. Not when Selena had returned from Dusseldorf, not when they had taken the extra week in Germany so her car could be repaired, not during the flight back – not once. “Why wouldn’t she just ask me?”

“I don’t know.” Deanna shrugged her shoulders, moving the tote to the side of the mattress so she could sit on it, keeping her eyes on Selena. “Maybe she wanted an outsider’s opinion. Objectively, your view on things might be different.”

“Objectively…” Selena stopped herself, not wishing to overthink the statement. “So… what did you tell her?”

“Well, I couldn’t exactly show her what you did.” Deanna half-laughed, both women grateful that the children were currently in school while the last of Deanna’s possessions were moved back into the ‘Forever Home’. “I told her that you had a difficult fight, but you held him accountable and that he wouldn’t be bothering her again. Simple as that.”

It was… a decent answer, even if Selena wasn’t stupid enough to believe that her daughter wouldn’t eventually find out about the ‘vicious side’ of Selena that had come out during that pay-perv-view match.

“Least we don’t have to worry about him anymore.” Selena remarked. “Maybe Elsianna can leave it at that.” Her gaze returned to Deanna. “Same with Enigma, if Scott is to be believed.”

Deanna sighed at that. “She just beat the man in a match.” The redhead reasoned. “I did that and more and he kept coming back. A few weeks away doesn’t mean anything.” She added, reaching out to touch something that was around her neck but under her shirt – Selena couldn’t see whatever it was. “She’s stupid for thinking she’s that much ahead of me that one win will do that to Enigma.”

“I’ll deal with that.” Selena promised. “But you need to get back to training if you hope to come back sooner rather than later.”

She saw the redhead’s eyes shoot up, a look of shock on her face. “You think I can?”

“I told Asher as much, but…” Selena held up her hand. “We can’t rush this. I don’t want you rampaging in just to lose your title at the first crack. Especially if the only reason you lose it is because you’re not prepared – and, let’s be honest here, if you’re winded from taking a box up a flight of stairs…”

“Hey! It was heavy sweaters!” Deanna defended, almost playfully. “But…” her expression changed. “I will get better! I’ll start training like I used to – like we used to.” Her eyes shot up to Selena and then darted away towards the pictures of the wall. “You think…” she seemed to dwell on something for a moment before her gaze, slowly, found Selena’s again. “You think I could get back to that level again? It’s been so many months.”

For a moment, Selena chose her words carefully. “I don’t know.” She settled on saying. “Training will be up to you and how much you want it. But SCW…it’s changed. You didn’t get to really see how much it has, Deanna.” She tried to explain. “This whole Wild, Wild West thing has taken hold. Things are… they’re a little different.”

“I’ve watched some of it now.” Deanna admitted. “Couple of new faces and players but it seems not so different.”

“Yes, but…” Selena sighed. “I’ve not done well for our reputation.” She admitted. “I’m still hated. And it might go back onto you like before.”

The redhead gave a mere shrug. “I dealt with it before, I’ll deal with it again.” She stated matter-of-factly. “Truthfully, the jeers seem to have lessened a little.”

“Ha!” Selena laughed. “You’re just not there to hear it live.”
“No, I mean it!” Deanna pressed, pushing herself off the bed. “Between you and Mason, Mason was booed more than you.”
“That’s because he crossed a line. Even the SCW Universe couldn’t condone that. Once Scott accepts my challenge, they’ll be cheering for her to take that contract off me.”

“And you’re certain she’ll accept?” Deanna asked.

“You know her ego, Deanna.” Selena nodded. “I’ll probably have to deal with her ambushing me at some point during my match with Lawler before she does, but she will. It’s too big of a prize for her to say no.”

“And what if…” Deanna bit her lower lip – it was so cute. “What if she gets past you?”
“She won’t.”
“But what if she does?”

“Then I’ll deal with it.” Selena sighed. Knowing Scott, the woman would cash-in almost immediately as soon as the contract was in her hands. Hudson had been the same way and blown it – typical. Selena thought. They don’t appreciate the aspect of biding your time and being patient…

“Okay…” Deanna seemed to settle on that answer. “But you really mean it? You’ll let me come back to work?”

The Snow Queen couldn’t help the smile that came to her face at the excitement of the younger woman. “In time…yes.” She answered, but her mind went blank when she suddenly felt Deanna’s arms around her, the redhead rushing to the platinum-blonde in her excitement to embrace her.

And Selena almost gasped as the electricity ripped through her, like a lightning bolt rampaging through her entire system! It stunned her into silence with the sheer power of it, to the point where she did not even realize her arms had moved to embrace Deanna in return.

She felt shattered.
She felt ripped apart.
She felt like she was in a million pieces… but all in a good way… an amazing way.

I think we found your trigger…

Glasgen’s words echoed away in Selena’s mind as the redhead suddenly stepped away from Selena, fixing her hair with her hands awkwardly. “I mean…” she spoke slowly, breathing just a bit more. “I’m very grateful for that, Selena.” She settled on saying.

“Uh…yeah…” Selena nodded. “I’m sure you’ll be amazing-“

“Do we have anymore of my boxes left to bring up?” Deanna suddenly asked. “I’ll go check your car to make sure – double-check I mean!

She was out of the room before Selena could speak a word. Not that the woman could in that moment. She was still reeling from the emotional shock she had just felt. The jarring from a hug – a simple hug…

Trigger…

Out of the corner of her eyes, Selena saw a bit of movement and turned her head to see the mirror hanging on the wall by the closet. Again, she saw herself… and instead of the cold eyes and numb expression… she saw the red of her own cheeks from the blush that had crept up there.

“Oh dammit…” She whispered to herself, the realization almost as powerful as the embrace she had just barely survived from. “What the hell am I going to do?”

The Royal Letter

Now, you might say that things have… well, they’ve certainly been a bit rough as of late. I mean, we’ve got a guy using a Trios Contract that he didn’t earn to try and be World Champion – hot streak Waylon, right? Never been pinned? Never submitted? Should be a hell of a match there for Retribution and a challenge for Xander Valentine.

And for weeks, people have been asking me ‘Selena… what are you going to do if the Fall of Man get the world title? When are you going to cash-in?’. Truth is, I’m not looking that far ahead. Whether it’s Xander, whether it’s Waylon, whether it’s Hudson again, or Kandis drags her fat ass back on her hands and knees – a position she’s VERY familiar with – when I cash-in, it’ll be for two things. One: It’ll be for me and two: it’ll be to successfully become, once more, the SCW World Champion. It won’t matter who holds it. The when and the how are decided by ME. And as for Waylon – you could be unpinned all you want… Perfection… well… let’s say I know a thing or two about being better than that…

But yes, things have been a little rough as of late – Fall of Man, my heart goes out to Luz and Amelia for Light in the Darkness. Luz, I’m going to put your mind at ease in this. I’m not interested in Asher’s words. I’m not. And I know Deanna won’t be. Deanna will come back when she is ready to, sure as hell isn’t going to be influenced by some mouthpiece that just dragged himself back a few months ago and got lucky against you. But Deanna believes in you getting back that Interim United States Championship because you vs. her? That’s what she desires. That’s what you both desire. But from someone who has lost a title that meant something to them, I say pick yourself up, dust yourself off, get over the loss and get that damn title back! I told you I’ve got my own stuff to deal with right now, so I am counting on you to getting that task done!

Moving on, Polly Pignotti, same words. Get your shit together. You’ve got Maria Swanson with you, you’ve got Colleen working her ass off, the bar is being raised – you need to rise with it!

Now… everyone’s probably wondering at this time ‘What the hell is Selena doing? Talking about other people?’. You know why? Because I’ve basically not had the time to. I’ve been dealing with little jackasses that think they can smear my name and my family’s name through the mud just because I’m not holding the world title right now. People that think they can mouth off to me and there be no consequences for doing so.

Did nobody see what I did to Blake Mason in Dusseldorf? I didn’t just beat him into the ground. I beat him so bad that he was taken out on a stretcher. I beat him so bad that he doesn’t WANT to come back to SCW again – You’re welcome and thank you for coming!

And now, Kristen Scott wants to run her mouth? She wants to try and push those same buttons Blake did? Why? Because she thinks she’s tougher? Because she thinks she’s unstoppable? Kristen, I want you to understand something here. I didn’t march into CHBK’s office and make that demand because you’re ‘playing me’. I made that challenge, because quite frankly, I don’t have time for your usual BS. I don’t have time for you to spend weeks running in and ambushing me from behind or finding a partner because you can’t handle me by yourself. Retribution is LITERALLY right around the corner, and I want an answer to my challenge. I want to hear the words ‘I accept’ from your lips so I can beat your ass like I did Mason and teach you to respect my name and family!

Yeah, I’ll probably get booed by saying that, but unlike ‘seasonal’ Xander that comes and goes like Josh Hudson, or Asher Hayes, or any of these legends that are coming out for one last spill of glory – I have been here long enough and CONSISTENT enough – to earn those facts! Those titles! Those truths!

See, that’s something I just can’t stand in this place. People walking around with entitlements and, unlike me, have done ZERO to earn it. SCW is filled with ‘old legends’ coming back and demanding things. “Give me a title shot!”, “Give me the main-event!”, “Make me the face of the company!”, just because they’ve got some mileage in this company. You’ve got Xander mouthing off about being ‘dominant’ for twenty years. “25 wins in a row!”. Except when you add it all together – the times he was actually here, doesn’t really add to twenty years does it? And you take all the names of people he beat? The legends he “humbled”? You know who’s name he can’t say?

Selena Frost.

No veteran can. Not him. Not Hudson and sure as hell not Chris Lawler. And you know, Chris, I actually feel a little bit sorry for you there. Cause I saw you ‘blow up’ in Dusseldorf too. It wasn’t as nuclear or effective as mine, but still – the frustration, the anger… I get it.

Because, let’s be honest, Chris. You thought it would be so easy, didn’t you? You saw all the others, didn’t you? All these has-beens and old-timers and legends and icons of the past coming back and instantly, the nostalgia act makes old-man Alex, a relic himself, giddy! You saw how those relics were instantly pushed! Fame, camera time, big matches – hell, you had Xander practically fed the world title by CHBK since the start of the season! And some part of you, don’t lie to me and say it wasn’t there, thought ‘I’m a legend! I’ve got some history in SCW! I can come back and play on that’.

Problem is… it hasn’t been all sunshine and roses as it has with them, has it, Chris?

It hasn’t been all ‘easy’ has it? And while you showed that you can still go when the bell rings, I’ll give you that, there’s a reason and, deep down, you know it. It’s because, yeah, you’re a veteran here. Yeah, you’ve got some abilities and can fight in the ring.

But when the word ‘legend’ is tossed around, you’re not the name that comes up, are you? When people say ‘Hall of Fame’ and ‘Needle Mover’ and ‘Record Setter’, nobody thinks of Chris Lawler. I mean, all those names I said? Former world champions all of them. They had their ‘time’ in the spotlight. You? You’ve never had it. Not all those years ago and certainly not now.

And while you came back with the same schtick you’ve always had about ‘earning your way up’, you realized that the bar didn’t go down in SCW since you were here. No, it’s only gone up. It’s only gotten harder because of me. That’s why guys like Hudson don’t last long at the top. That’s why guys like Xander need to fight mid-carders like Raab and one-shot-wonders to stay at the top. That’s why everyone knows who the real ‘Face of SCW’ is.

Lawler, you came back with all the same reasons but, unlike the others, you didn’t have anything to bank off of. Not your name, not your success, nothing. And now? You’ve had to claw and scratch your way through like the rest of us have done. Difference is… you couldn’t do it then and you sure as hell can’t do it now.

That’s why you’re frustrated. Because, deep down, you want it easy. You’re just like Kristen Scott. You want the instant rewards. “I win a match! Make me world champion! I did one thing – give me the keys to the car!”. Even now, you’re probably salivating at this match. What was it you said last Breakdown?

“I just gotta focus and do all I can to win! Whoever I’m up against!”

Can only imagine how wide your eyes went when my name came up next to yours. Cause that’s your lottery win, isn’t it? You beat me? You’re on the radar again. You beat me, you’re back on track, aren’t you? That’s what every person thinks when they target me. Adam Brock? He said the same thing. Kristen Scott did it for years by going after Deanna and then me. Scott Reid? James Evans? They all want me – couldn’t care less of Xander Valentine which was why someone like Konrad Raab managed to sneak into the world title picture.

When it comes down to it – beating me is far more impressive than beating a man I’ve knocked out, choked out, and embarrassed over and over again.

But like I said, Chris, this isn’t ‘old SCW’. There’s a reason I’m bigger than the world champion. There’s a reason I’m sought after more than the world title to the point mid-carders and newbies are filling Xander’s challenge card. Why I get the world-class champions and he gets whatever is left over, and yes, I include Josh Hudson in that category. There’s a reason I am just ‘better’ than the supposed ‘best in SCW right now’.

Adam Brock learned the hard way what that was. And tonight? It’s your turn. Because I am not interested in fulfilling your little fantasy of ‘mattering in SCW’. I’m not interested in stepping THAT far back from my rightful place at the top of the mountain. And let me be clear, this is not personal for me. I’m not interested in crushing your dreams here. I’m just not interested in letting another ‘past ghost’ of SCW run this place. I’m not interested in taking a back seat to people that mouth-off and can’t back it up in the ring. I’m not interested in letting this place be run by one-hit-wonders and guys that should have retired years ago.

So, Lawler, I hope you get some clarity this Breakdown going forward. Because you’re not just my opponent this Saturday. You’re my message boy. You’re a reminder, just like Brock was.

A reminder that, while I may be just watching SCW and the world title at this point, I am as dangerous as I have ever been – more so in fact – and if you want to step up to me and mouth off? There’s a price to pay. And Scott… she’s going to learn that. She’s going to learn that there is so much more to lose in this business than the chance of being a champion like she did last week.

Especially when you disrespect me.

So, Chris, this isn’t just some match that’s going to simply fill a card. This isn’t some match that will be overshadowed by the world champion losing a tag match and failing to keep a promise he made earlier in the night – shocker there, I know. No, this will be a match where you are embarrassed. A match where you are outclassed and outmatched from the second the bell rings. Don’t take it personally, the world champion suffered that too against me. Ask him what the shortest match in his career was. He’ll say my name like he always does when he opens his mouth.

But this Saturday night, because gods forbid we have a reliable schedule these days, you are going to be embarrassed. You will know in seconds the difference between us because Kristen Scott needs to be REMINDED of the difference between her and I. The One needs to learn the one lesson I taught her a year ago!

And that lesson is, in the end, I will ALWAYS be the last one standing. That I will always surpass and beat and overcome and endure past whoever is in my way. Because, at the end of the day, I AM the Face of SCW. I AM the true representation of this place. And I am, unequivocally, the very best in SCW.

Whether SCW wants to believe – whether SCW wants to ADMIT it – or not.
