===== ========== June 22nd, 2024 Boston, Massachusetts Off Camera ========== Marie’s goal of obtaining redemption for her past crimes may have been successful, she may have even been successful in obtaining the trust of the SCW locker room and the support of her fans, but her career has yet again hit a bit of a snag. Ever since she lost the SCW Television Championship, The Phoenix has had a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. She defeated Gavin Taylor to earn a shot at the SCW Adrenaline Title but then failed to win the belt, she failed to win Taking Hold of the Flame, and then when granted a shot to get revenge against a former member of Infamous, Autumn Valentine, Marie failed to capitalize on that one and lost. Now she has yet another opportunity, this time against Magical Cosmic Princess YUYO of the Shining Maidens. YUYO is returning to SCW after a brief hiatus and has been on quite the roll. Stopping YUYO’s momentum dead in her tracks would be a boost to The Phoenix, one which could definitely right the ship. Unfortunately, a loss would mean another slide down for Jones. She cannot afford many more defeats or many more setbacks. Jones needs a win and she needs it badly. She needs to defeat The Magical Cosmic Princess in order to put herself back on track, otherwise her road towards Rise To Greatness will just continue to get worse and worse. The Phoenix is like a wounded animal, cornered and without many options. In cases like this, Marie turns to what is most comforting, what she knows works best. Which means she is turning to her famous mother, The Matriarch of the Jones Wrestling Family; Angelica Jones. Angelica’s home is situated in the center of a lot of acreage she owns. Near the back end of her property is a massive workout and training center that she has built not only for herself to keep herself in ring shape but also for any other of her close relatives. Marie has known that this place has always been available to her whenever she wanted to use it. Jones and her sisters, Kim Williams and Jessica Lasiewicz, have all had the same fierce independent streak. They want to succeed on their own. They don’t want people thinking that they need the Jones name and influence to succeed. But there comes a time when you need to accept help wherever it comes, and she knows her mother is always willing to help. Besides, there is an ulterior motive behind it all. Marie’s teenage son, Sean Connor Jones, is expressing serious interest in potentially following into the family business of professional wrestling. He would be a third generation star if he did. Currently he has been working with Percy Matthews, Marie’s new boyfriend, on basic mma striking and self defense. But Marie knows her son would need to get well acquainted with actual professional wrestling sometime. What better place than his grandmother’s workout center? She actually has a standard regulation wrestling ring. This is what brings Marie Jones to her mother’s property on this day in Boston, Massachusetts. The workout center itself is sleek and modern with shiny workout equipment that has been kept so clean that they almost appear as if they were brand new. Heavy bags and speed bags of a variety of colors for punching and kicking hang from the ceiling. In the center of the workout building is the aforementioned standard regulation sized professional wrestling ring. The Phoenix is sharing the ring with her mother, Angelica Jones. Both are in similar styled workout shorts and white t-shirts, except Marie’s shorts are a simple black color while Angelica’s is a bright red. Percy and Marie’s son Sean stand on the outside, watching as mother and daughter spar inside the ring. “Now remember, Marie, prepare for anything. YUYO can be unpredictable and dangerous.” “Dangerous?” Marie asks curiously as she and Angelica circle one another, both hesitant about making a mistake. “She seems friendly enough.” “Have you seen YUYO?” Angelica smirks. “She is, if nothing else, unpredictable.” Angelica goes for a roundhouse kick but Marie sees it coming and rolls away from it before springing back to her feet. Angelica turns around and sees Marie smirking. “You’re too slow.” “Slow but smart.” Angelica charges and goes for a bicycle knee. Marie barely avoids contact but stumbles down onto the mat. Angelica leaps on top and wrenches in a side headlock. “Wait…did you just…” “Try one of YUYO’s moves? Yeah, I did.” Angelica puts more pressure on the side headlock. “Like I said, you need to be ready.” Marie sighs and her face changes into one of determination. She plants one foot on the mat. She muscles her way back to her knees and then back to her feet. She stands up. Angelica tries to put more pressure by mounting Marie, going piggy back with the headlock still locked in. Marie goes back to her knees. But Marie fights back to her knees again. Angelica again goes piggy back. Finally Marie decides on a desperation move. She falls backward, with all of her bodyweight landing on Angelica. This forces the break of the side headlock. Marie rolls off of Angelica and then pushes herself back up. Marie gasps as she sees Angelica on the mat. “Damn…are you ok?” “I’m good.” Angelica chuckles. She sits up and then accepts Marie’s hand. Marie pulls her mother the rest of the way back to her feet. “I may not be a full time wrestler anymore, but I’m always in ring shape and I can take a fall. Don’t worry about me.” She pats Marie on the back. “You just focus on YUYO.” “Got it.” Marie nods her head. “So are you ready to go another round or…” “We’ve been sparring for a good hour or so, Marie.” Angelica says with a grin. “I may still be in ring shape but I’m not sure I have as much endurance as I used to have; I think I need a bit of a break before we go another round.” Angelica motions to Percy and Sean. “How about we let Sean go a few rounds? Get the feel for how an actual wrestling ring is like?” “Yeah!” Sean exclaims happily. “That sounds sick!” “I dunno…” Marie’s voice trails off, she did bring Sean here for the purpose of getting him more acquainted with the wrestling world, especially since he seems bound and determined to follow in her footsteps, but the idea of sparring with her own son does not appeal to her. In fact, she still has trouble accepting the idea of her son being a wrestler in the first place. “Oh, c’mon mom.” Sean says. “Yeah, what’s wrong Marie?” Angelica asks. “I think it would be great experience for him.” “Look, I agree that it is a great experience. It’s just that…” she sighs “...I’m not sure I’m ready. Watching Sean is one thing, but being in here with him…” again her voice trails off and she shakes her head. “Uh, I have a suggestion.” Percy raises his hand. Marie nods in acknowledgement. “How about I work with him?” “Are you sure?” Marie asks, her eyes growing wide. “I mean, you said yourself that you are not a wrestler. You just know some basic mma and self defense.” “That’s true, but I think I can still work the kid.” He shrugs. “I mean, it’d be no different from what me and Sean have been doing, it’s just it’d be in the ring. And that’s what this is all about right? Getting the kid a feel for the ring?” “I’m not sure…” Marie is still unsure of this idea. Neither Percy nor Sean has been in a wrestling ring before. But Sean’s eyes immediately light up upon this idea proposed by Percy. “That’d rock!” He looks with pleading eyes at Marie. “Please mom! Can we?” “Oh alright…” Sean’s pleading eyes are enough to disarm The Phoenix “...I suppose I could probably use a break myself, anyway.” “Yeah!” Sean seems absolutely thrilled, ecstatic even, as he slides into the ring. Marie walks up to him and gives him a big hug. “Be safe, kiddo.” “I will.” Marie then exits through the ropes and onto the ring apron. Percy approaches. “You be safe too.” Marie says. “This isn’t exactly your world.” “I know.” He says before kissing Marie on the lips. “Trust me.” Percy enters the ring and Marie then hops down off of the ring apron. Marie walks over and joins her mother Angelica Jones. She sits down next to her in a steel folding chair. Angelica looks over into her daughter’s eyes. She can sense that Marie is troubled. Angelica gives her a gentle pat on the back. “It’s tough watching them grow up, isn’t it?” “Yeah.” Marie sighs. “I suppose this is how you felt when I decided to wrestle.” “Damn right. Hell, I took it worse than you.” “I remember.” Marie laughs a little despite herself. “You were very overprotective back then.” “Can you blame me? I thought I had lost you and Kim forever. But I got you back. I didn’t want to risk losing you to this business that I knew firsthand was ruthless and cutthroat.” “Yet you let me make my own way.” “Not really.” Angelica points out. “If you recall, you made your own way despite my wishes. It led to us growing apart for a while. Looking back, I should have known I couldn’t keep you from this.” “Are you suggesting that I let Sean get into the family business?” Marie asks. Angelica nods her head. “You won’t be able to keep him from it. If this is really what he wants, he will find a way to do it. It’s best to be there to support him and to teach him everything you know so that he will be ready. If you do what I did and try to keep him away, he’ll grow to resent you for it.” “You have a point.” Marie sighs. “But who can train him? I mean, I can’t. I don’t have that much time to devote to taking on a student right now. I’m back to a full time schedule with Supreme Championship Wrestling. And after the hard work I put in to win over some good will, to repair and rebuild my reputation in that company, I cannot afford to just ditch everything, even for Sean. And right now it’s Rise To Greatness season and I am starting it on a very bad note. I lost my Adrenaline Title Match, I didn’t win Taking Hold of the Flame, and I didn’t beat Autumn Valentine.” “Your sister’s Rise To Greatness season didn’t get off to a great start, either.” Angelica points out. “She lost the Underground Title thanks to that asshole James Evans.” “I need this win, mom.” Marie points out. “I need to beat YUYO. I can’t afford to be distracted.” “I understand.” Angelica nods her head. “There are other options, other avenues we can take to working with Sean.” “What about you?” Marie asks. “You worked with me and Jess. You’ve been working with Kim lately. You could work with Sean too.” “I could if I had the time.” Angelica shakes her head. “But like you I’m pretty busy myself. I am serving as your advocate and Kim’s advocate in SCW. I’m also a part time wrestler myself.” Just then Angelica’s eyes light up, as if a light bulb went off over her head. She got an idea. She grins as she looks over at Marie. “What about Glory?” “You mean cousin Glory?” Marie asks. Angelica nods her head. “Not her specifically but her wrestling school. Glory has some great wrestlers operating it; Randall Williams, Sophie and Mark O’Brian, Julia Braddock…that place has produced former world champions. Sean would be in great hands.” “True…” Marie sighs and then shakes her head “...oh but wait, isn’t it too early for Sean to enter any wrestling school, let alone one so far away?” “It isn’t too early.” Angelica shakes her head. “Lots of kids his age get started this early. And it isn’t like he’d be a stranger over there. The Braddocks are our cousins. Unless…” Angelica looks deep into Marie’s eyes “...you just have trouble letting go.” “Is it that obvious?” Marie says with a soft laugh. “I get it, Marie. I truly do. Like you said, I was very overprotective of you, I did not want to let go of you because I was worried that without me, something would go wrong with you and your life.” She wraps an arm around Marie’s shoulder. “But like I said, don’t make the same mistakes I did. You need to learn to let go and let him grow up.” “I’m not sure I can…” Marie says quietly. “Well you will have to eventually. But lucky for you, you don’t have to cross that bridge for a long time now. Sean is still just learning the basics and he can learn the basics before entering any formal wrestling school or training of any kind.” She motions to Sean in the ring as he learns from Percy Matthews. “Just look at the two of them in there.” Marie looks over into the ring. Percy is throwing some roundhouse kicks and does some shadow boxing. Sean watches on in awe of this massive muscular biker known as Death’s Head. The Phoenix can only think of how lucky she was to have found him. After many different relationship failures, after so many heartaches, Marie seems to finally have found the so-called Mr. Right. And the irony lies in the fact that both needed each other, they both needed support systems as they tried to reintegrate back into society, Marie from her past in a cult and Percy from his criminal past. They needed one another and they found one another and they have been there for one another the entire time. As much as Marie loves Percy, the best thing about him is how he relates to Sean. Percy seems to care for Sean as if Sean were his own son. And that is one thing Marie has longed for, has been desperately seeking; a father figure for Sean. Percy fulfills all of her wants and needs. Marie is grateful to have him. “Yeah, Sean adores Percy.” Marie says with a pleasant, happy smile. “There are times I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. This is what I’ve always wanted, a man that I love and who is also a good father figure for Sean.” “There you go.” Angelica says approvingly. “You seem to have your solution right there in the ring.” “What do you mean?” “I think it’s a good idea to just let Percy work with Sean for the foreseeable future. Let him learn from Percy as long as he can before you have to think about formal training as a professional wrestler.” “I suppose you’re right.” “Of course I’m right.” Angelica says, sporting an ear to ear grin. “Look, Marie, I know how much you have wanted this, how long you have been looking for the right guy who can love and care for you and, at the same time, be a father to Sean. At the time I thought you were grasping at a fairy tale but now it seems as if your fairy tale has come true.” “It isn’t just a silly girl’s fairy tale dream.” Marie shakes her head. “You remember how…” Marie fights back the tears brought about from the painful memories “...you remember how Sean was conceived.” “I do.” Angelica nods her head. “No one should have to go through that.” “But I carried Sean to term. I wanted to give him…my son…a good life. I also wanted him to have a real father. I had almost given up hope of that ever coming to pass. That’s part of why I joined Inner Peace. I was willing to throw my entire life away in service of a con man and his cult because I had begun to believe that life itself had conspired against me.” She looks back at Percy and Sean in the ring. “But Percy gave me hope again. He gave me hope that maybe my dreams can come true.” “Then don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.” Angelica states. “He’s there to help you and he loves Sean like a father would love his son. If he wants to help, let him help.” The Phoenix may have a difficult Rise To Greatness season ahead of her, including a challenging match against a game Magical Cosmic Princess YUYO. She may be in desperate need of a win to get her professional career back on track. But there is a glimmer of hope, there is a silver lining and that is the fact that her personal life seems to be going very well. She has a man she loves and who loves her in return. That man also loves her son and is willing to help raise him as if he were his own. A single mother couldn’t ask for much more than that. ![]() SWC Southern Heavyweight Champion 1x MWA Turmoil Champion 1x GCW World Tag Team Champion 1x UWA World Tag Team Champion 1x HKW Bloodlust Champion 3x 2022 SCW Trios Tournament Winner SCW World Tag Team Champion 1x SCW Underground Champion 5x SCW Television Champion 1x SCW United States Champion 1x SCW Adrenaline Champion 1x MWE Chicago Way Champion 1x 5LW Television Champion 1x 5LW Brass Knuckles Champion 2x 5LW World Tag Team Champion 1x ZION Hardcore Champion 1x VALIANT Champion 1x VALIANT Chaos Champion 4x Queen of the Death Match ![]() SCW United States Champion 1x SCW Television Champion 2x SCW World Tag Team Champion 1x UWA World Champion 1x UWA X-Class Champion 1x UWA World Tag Team Champion 1x IWC World Tag Team Champion 1x MCW X-Division Champion 1x GDW International Champion 1x GDW World Tag Team Champion 3x

===== ========== June 23rd, 2024 Boston, Massachusetts Off Camera ========== Everything has been going the way of Marie Annabelle Jones as of late, for the most part at least. Jones earned the trust of her family back, she got a second chance to wrestle for SCW and since returning has won a championship and earned the trust and support of her fans, but the most important and happiest moment of them all is probably her relationship with Percy Matthews. She has endured many failed relationships, she has endured several heartbreaks, and all she wanted was not only a partner who would love and care for her, but also someone who could help her raise her son Sean. Ideally, she wanted someone who could be a father figure for Sean. It isn’t easy being a single mother and it was especially difficult for Marie considering how Sean came to be in the first place. The father wasn’t in the picture because he sexually assaulted Marie. He was killed when he refused to turn himself over peacefully to the police. Marie chose to carry Sean to term. She wanted to keep him and raise him. She also wanted a father figure for Sean, one he deserved. Sean grew and grew, eventually becoming a pre-teen with no father figure. Marie had almost given up hope. But now, with Sean in his teenage years, Marie has seemingly found that right person in the form of Percy Matthews. It is strange because Marie never would have seen herself in a relationship with someone like Percy. He is an ex-con and a biker. He likes his nickname, Death’s Head. Despite his shady past of gang activity, he has promised that he is a changed person. And it seems to be true. Percy treats Marie like a princess and Sean seems to adore Percy. Percy likes Sean in return and treats Sean as if he were his own son. It almost seems as if it is too good to be true. Percy has even helped Marie in other ways. Her son wants to follow in her footsteps and become a wrestler. Marie has reluctantly allowed him to follow that dream if he wishes and Percy has volunteered to teach him basic striking and self-defense skills that he learned when he was incarcerated. This time Sean spends with Percy has helped them bond. Marie can tell a big difference. Sean is learning not only skills that will be essential for his career if he does stick to that path, but Sean is also learning discipline. Meanwhile this frees Marie up to focus on the only part of her career that hasn’t exactly been on track lately and that would be her own career in the squared circle. After losing the Television Title, Marie has struggled to regain any momentum. Momentum is important, especially now in Rise To Greatness season, and she sees this latest match as an opportunity to regain some of that momentum. She just has to find a way to defeat YUYO, The Magical Cosmic Princess. Her match on Breakdown, that can be be put for until later. For now Marie is content to enjoy her time with Percy. Being with Percy has also changed some of Marie’s lifestyle. She normally prefers upscale lavish places but lately she has found herself hanging out with him at biker bars where he feels much more comfortable. The Phoenix, wearing tight denim jeans, black boots, and a red silk blouse along with her black leather jacket, sits on a bar stool at the wood oak bar. Percy Matthews sits next to him wearing denim jeans, black biker boots, a plain white t-shirt, and his biker vest. Two empty glasses sit in front of them. The bartender arrives and takes the empty glasses away and brings them two more fresh glasses of alcoholic beverages. Percy nods his head before sipping on his beer. “I never knew this place had such good food…” Marie says before sipping her own beer “...or good drinks.” “Didn’t think ya would approve.” “I admit I do prefer the finer things in life, but it isn’t like I haven’t been to a biker bar before.” “Oh really?” Percy says grinning. “I sense a story?” “Not much of one.” Marie shrugs her shoulders. “I mean, I have been here before to bail my sister out of whatever trouble she gets herself into.” “Have you been to this one before?” He asks. Marie nods her head. “Yeah. I came here with my then girlfriend Julianne to tell Kim I was leaving the family to join Inner Peace.” Her voice is calm, stoic, and matter of fact. Percy quickly realizes that this must be a painful memory for Marie. “Oh…I’m sorry, I didn’t realize.” “It’s ok.” She nods her head. “You didn’t know. Besides, I need to move on, right? I need to let go of the past and focus on the here and the now.” She leans over and kisses Percy on the lips. “And I really love what I have right here and now.” “Wow…” Percy grins from ear to ear “...thanks, babe…I mean, Marie.” “It’s ok.” She chuckles. “You can call me babe. I think we’re way past formalities now…” she winks “...Death’s Head.” “Maybe you’re right.” He sips on his beer again. “Uh, not that I’m complaining, because you know how much I enjoy our dates, but don’t ya wanna get some prep time in for your match against whatshername?” “YUYO.” Marie nods her head. “And I did train some today, and I have plenty of time the next couple of days to get more prep time in before I travel to Houston for Breakdown. Don’t worry, Percy. I’ll be fine.” “Yeah but I know how important your career is to you.” “It is important.” Marie sighs. “But my mistake was putting my career ahead of everything and everyone else. That’s what caused my downward spiral. That’s what caused me to nearly lose my career in the first place. Sometimes you have to recognize that even in what seems like the darkest of days, there is the slimmest glimmer of hope. You’re part of my hope, Percy. You and Sean both. What I do is for both of you.” “That is some kid you got there.” Percy chuckles. “He’s a fast learner, you know that?” “Oh really?” “Yeah. Yesterday, after you left, I got your mother in the ring to work with him. He used one of the takedowns I taught him to perfection.” “He took down his grandmother?” Marie asks with a look of shock on her face. Percy nods his head with a look of pride. “Yep…he looked pretty damn good too.” “I admit that I had my doubts about Sean following into the family business. But you know what? Maybe he can do it? Maybe his destiny is to be a third generation wrestler?” “I dunno much about wrestling, but I know that the kid has heart, he has determination, and he is smart. I think he can learn the stuff and I think he is determined enough not to give up.” “Well that’s one character trait he will definitely need if he wants to succeed.” Marie points out as she drinks her beer. “Wrestling is a cutthroat business, it won’t be easy for him, especially being a third generation wrestler with so much pressure to succeed riding on his shoulders. He will have plenty of setbacks.” “I think he knows that.” Percy says. “He’s a strong kid, babe. Maybe stronger than you give him credit for?” “I hope so.” Marie sips on her beer some more. As she does so she notices Percy’s demeanor shift and change ever so slightly. He was laid back, relaxed, and rather jovial. Now his face has hardened. He looks ice cold. It’s almost as if he is angry. What’s happened? Could it be the alcohol? Marie dismisses that completely. He is only on his second glass and Percy typically can drink anyone and everyone under the table. It is highly unlikely that the alcohol is already getting to him. Still, something is bothering Percy, which is evident as the biker keeps looking around, now with a hint of nervousness and anxiousness. Something is bothering him and Marie doesn’t know what it is. “Uh, Percy? What’s wrong?” “I think we should go.” He states quietly. “Ok…sure…” Marie isn’t sure what is going on but she does trust him. She knows he wouldn’t do anything unsafe. If he thinks that they need to leave then they do need to leave. Marie nods her head and gets up off of the barstool. Percy slides a wad of cash across the bar towards the bartender. He then turns and storms away, grabbing Marie by the wrist and urging her to keep up. “Come on…” “Ouch!” Marie exclaims. “Careful, you’re hurting me…” “Sorry. But we do need to leave.” Jones starts to feel even more uneasy about this but allows herself to be dragged out of this bar. Percy seems to be eager get out of this place as quickly as possible. She thinks back to two previous dates that ended up turning out badly. Did he spot former gang pals of his? Did he spot former victims of his that he wishes to avoid? Marie can only guess. She just hopes that everything will be ok now that they are outside. But that hope is dashed when she feels herself tossed aside by Percy. “Get behind me!” He shouts. Marie is confused but watches on as Percy reaches out and grabs a figure that was seemingly lurking in the shadows. The massive biker known as Death’s Head then slams the figure against the side of the building. “What do you want from us?!” “Percy?!” Marie exclaims. “What is this?!” “This guy has been stalking us.” Percy growls. “That’s why we needed to leave. And now he’s gonna tell me why he’s been stalking us…” he balls up his fist and holds it up against the guy’s face threateningly “...or else.” Jones has had her fair share of stalkers in the past and is no fan of them. She feels a sense of comfort that Percy was watching out for her and is willing to defend her. Ordinarily she would let Percy have her way with him but as she gets a closer look at the stalker she suddenly realizes that she knows him. She realizes that this isn’t just some random stalker. It may not even be a stalker at all. “Percy, wait!” Marie exclaims. “I know him!” “Yeah? Well who is he?” Marie cautiously approaches. She gazes deep into the man’s face. Yes, she is right; this is Brandon Buchanan, older brother of Julianne Buchanan. Jones sighs and shakes her head. “Brandon…” “Marie.” The Phoenix sighs and shakes her head with a sense of frustration and disgust. She looks over at Percy. “This is Brandon Buchanan, my ex-girlfriend’s older brother.” “Yeah?” Percy’s demeanor still hasn’t changed. He still angry with Brandon. “Why is he stalking us?” “I am not stalking anyone!” Brandon insists. “I just…I need to talk to Marie…” “Seriously?” Marie seems surprised. Brandon nods his head. “I’m sorry for scaring you, it wasn’t my intention, but I do need to talk to you. It’s important.” Brandon seems to be sincere, he seems to be genuinely concerned about something. But the more Marie thinks about this, the more this seems like a bad idea. Brandon is just a reminder of a bad past and a failed relationship. She shakes her head. “No…” “But Marie!” “I said no.” She says again, more emphatically this time. “It isn’t personal, Brandon, but you are too close to a past that I would rather forget.” “This is important!” Brandon insists. “It has to do with my sister!” The mention of Julianne brings up even more horrific memories. Marie tries her best to push them back, to keep the memories away, but it is difficult to hold back the emotions. She shakes her head. “All the more reason not to hear you out. I’m sorry, Brandon, but I really don’t care what you have to say.” “Please reconsider!” Brandon exclaims. He manages to wriggle free of Percy’s grasp and almost gets close to Marie but she jumps back. Percy quickly gets in between the two of them and shoves Brandon really hard, causing him to fall onto the ground. Percy growls angrily as he stares daggers right through the heart of Brandon. “The lady said NO!” Percy exclaims. “Now leave before things get ugly!” “Marie, I…” Brandon considers begging some more but he looks into Marie’s eyes and she is near tears, he looks at Percy and he seems ready for a fight. Brandon sighs as he pulls himself up and shakes his head. “...oh ok, look, I don’t want any trouble. I’ll leave. But Marie, please reconsider.” “Just leave.” Marie repeats. “I will but…” he sighs “...you know how to contact me.” With that said, Brandon turns and walks away. Once he is gone Marie breaks down into tears. Percy embraces her in a tight warm hug. His warm embrace helps a little but the fear is still there. Marie had hoped that her past was long gone but Brandon Buchanan and this problem he has with his sister, whatever it is, is proof that it may not be over just yet. ========== On Camera ========== Things never seem to go the way you want them to; isn’t that right YUYO? I don’t know how often Magical Cosmic Princesses get what they want but you definitely wanted to fight Kimberly Williams and, unfortunately for you, you have to settle for the not-so-fun twin. Instead of the revenge you were seeking against my sister for cracking your head open, derailing your momentum, and…sending you to school? You have to settle for making an impact at my expense. You have to settle for using me as a stepping stone to further your career in SCW. You have to settle for using me to reestablish yourself as a dominant force in this company. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, your magical cosmic majesty, but this won’t go your way, either. I am more than just a stepping stone, I am more than just someone to be made an example out of, and I am definitely far better than just a means to an end. I am The Phoenix. I am a three time Television Champion, a former tag team champion, and a former United States Champion. I have beaten some of the best to ever do this. Getting the opportunity to wrestle me should mean a hell of a lot more than just a means to an end. With all due respect, your magical cosmic majesty, you had better show up to Houston ready for a war, because a war is exactly what I am bringing to the table. Hey, Kimberly did get all of the penchant for violence all to herself, you know? See, YUYO, there is a big difference between you and I. That difference is that I NEED this win. You don’t. Sure, if you really had been fighting my sister then you might have made a case. The desire for revenge can be quite strong. But you’re not facing Kim. You’re facing me. So the whole revenge motivation is gone. Wiped out. All you have is your need to keep up the momentum you’ve built since returning to SCW. And you have been damn impressive since returning. You had a hell of a performance in Taking Hold of the Flame, you haven’t lost a standard match, you’ve been on fire and have been building a real good case for a prime spot at Rise To Greatness. People are looking at you as a serious threat, as they should. You are proving to have all the tools to succeed. If you lose, if you stumble just once on this path towards Rise To Greatness, it won’t hurt your standing. You can easily pick yourself back up, dust yourself off, and continue to impress. And therein lies our differences. Ever since losing the Television Title, I have been on a slow but steady descent. My momentum has completely vanished. I had hopes of at least getting a measure of retribution for past wrongs and injustices done to me by Infamous but even in that I came up short. I lost the Television Title. I failed to capture the Adrenaline Title. I failed to win Taking Hold of the Flame. I failed to get revenge. Now I am in my car sitting idle, stalled, on the road to Rise To Greatness. I had high hopes for my first Rise To Greatness after returning from a long absence. Things definitely did not go the way I had hoped. And now? Now I face the very real possibility of just getting a pity match at Rise To Greatness. I was raised to EARN my spot on these cards. I was raised to EARN your place or not get one at all. And I want to EARN my spot on the Rise To Greatness card because of what I have achieved, because of the level of talent I have beaten. So I need to beat you, YUYO. That is where we differ. Do not try to convince me that you need this win. If you lose your standing and your momentum will be protected. You will be just fine. You can turn it around because you will still have plenty of opportunities to turn it around. But me, at this late stage in the game after coming up short time and time again, I need this win. I am not going to get many more opportunities ahead of Rise To Greatness. Hell, this might very well be my last real opportunity to make a case for myself. Understand that is where we are different. You do not need this as badly as you lead people to believe. But I do need this, I need this win because I truly believe that if I cannot win when it counts, then my return may very well be sunk. If I lose, I may very well have to accept whatever pity match is afforded me by CHBK. I’ll be damned if I accept pity. I am The Phoenix and I EARN my spot through hard work, through dedication, through busting my ass week in and week out! And YUYO, this week is make or break for me. I have to defeat you and by God, I will do whatever it takes to defeat you in Houston. Things don’t always go the way we want and things definitely will not go your way on Breakdown. ![]() SWC Southern Heavyweight Champion 1x MWA Turmoil Champion 1x GCW World Tag Team Champion 1x UWA World Tag Team Champion 1x HKW Bloodlust Champion 3x 2022 SCW Trios Tournament Winner SCW World Tag Team Champion 1x SCW Underground Champion 5x SCW Television Champion 1x SCW United States Champion 1x SCW Adrenaline Champion 1x MWE Chicago Way Champion 1x 5LW Television Champion 1x 5LW Brass Knuckles Champion 2x 5LW World Tag Team Champion 1x ZION Hardcore Champion 1x VALIANT Champion 1x VALIANT Chaos Champion 4x Queen of the Death Match ![]() SCW United States Champion 1x SCW Television Champion 2x SCW World Tag Team Champion 1x UWA World Champion 1x UWA X-Class Champion 1x UWA World Tag Team Champion 1x IWC World Tag Team Champion 1x MCW X-Division Champion 1x GDW International Champion 1x GDW World Tag Team Champion 3x |
