I deleted discord off my phone. I still have the app installed on my personal laptop so I can stay in contact with a few individuals to work on projects; however, as a whole I'm going to be pulling away for a bit. As you all know I have a lot struggles in my life--- and I'm trying to make better decisions and work on myself to be the person I want to be. Part of this is stepping away from social media.
As for my role in SCW, losing the title with material I was very proud of really stung. Not that Josh didn't deserve the win or that my run was disappointing. As I said to Olek and others, it seems like when I write something very soulful, I seem to come up short. Look, I win a lot with Xander, so like whining about a single loss is stupid (I'm spoiled with Xander, always been); however, SCW has helped me grow to a level of where I think I can make it as a writer in a more general sense--- but I also have been staying SCW because I'm afraid to make that leap. My passion here is writing the story. I really don't care for promos. I treat Xander's rps as chapters to a novel. Some chapters are there to set up for bigger pay off, but we are judged week to week, and in my case chapter by chapter. Also, a good story =/= good roleplay.
So I plan on participating at THotF. I plan on using my Trios. I plan on holding out until RtG. I don't know past that. I did have a new arc for Xander that I developed last week that was intriguing, but again, I worry I'm putting off trying my hand at a real novel so I can get the cheap dopamine rush of seeing a fictional ring announcer saying my character won.
