Deanna Frost vs. Gigi Steward

Giovanna Steward | "Too Much on the Mind"

Everything is blurry. Gigi walks through an empty field at night. A fog has settled in, leaving her to careful place each step she takes as she traverses through the field. She's not even sure where she is going, she just knows she needs to get to the other side.

A bright glow lights up the sky in front of her. Gigi hastens her speed marching through the fog. Something heavenly awaits her on the other side. Another conversation with her Inner Goddess again? Good, she'll love to have some more words for her.

Gigi gets closer to the light she's cut off by the appearance of Maddy. Who stands in front of her. Gigi freezes up. She looks at Maddy, who is wearing a suit of armor and holding a big ass sword in her hand. She looks just as she did in the last epic battle they had been in. The fight against Katie trying to free her from her attachment  to the Queensblade. The battle that afterward Maddy had to leave her and recuperate from what she had to put herself through.

"I'm sorry." Gigi says to Maddy. A tear formed in her eye.

Maddy grabs her head. The feeling of a massive headache coming on. Like the weight of the world is pounding inside. Maddy lets out a scream of pain and collapses to her knees. Gigi rushes to her head and grabs her holding on. Gigi looks up back to the bright light in the sky. The light vanishes and the sky returns to its night time darkness. Leaving Gigi to stares up angerly at the sky while she rubs Maddy's shoulder trying to comfort her.


Gigi wakes up in her bed. It was just a dream. Talking to Katie or Ash would probably tell her it was something more. A message from her Inner Goddess, but what could that possibly mean? Whatever, Gigi will just add that to the list of things she needs to have words with her over if she gets the chance to face off again.

Gigi gets dressed for the day and walks out of her bedroom. Her room mates are already up. Ash sits at the counter eating some toast and Maddy makes herself some coffee. Gigi joins them.

"Hey G, good morning. Did you sleep well?" Maddy looks up and smiles at her. The first morning having her back home and it felt good.

"Yeah, I got a nice night's sleep. Dreaming of electric sleep." Gigi returns the smile. She doesn't tell her anymore. She can't. Not after all there dealing with Katie and her war with her Goddess they had to fight. Telling Maddy about Gigi finding her own strength and finding hers would be too much. She doesn't want the weight of the world pounding down again on Maddy. To lose her again.

"So what did the electric sleep want?" Ash adds to the conversation. "Usually there is more if you go all nerdy and sci-fi."

"No. Just nothing to remember. All normal."

The doorbell sounds throughout the apartment getting all three women’s attention. Gigi goes to answer the door and Maddy walks to peek out of the window.

“It’s TJ. Wonder what news Katie has that he’s delivering to us?” Maddy asks the girls, curious to know if they have any guesses.

Gigi opens the door for him. “Hello TJ, what does she want from us now?”

“Gigi as you know Katie has taken to the next steps into career from being in front of the camera to sitting in the director’s seat.” TJ carefully explains the situation to her. “That comes with a lot of creative decision making for the good of the film. Filmmaking is an artform.”

“TJ just spilled it already. What does she want?” Gigi tired of listening to TJ try to drag it out trying to make the news easier to digest.

“Katie needs to do some reshoots for her documentary.” TJ lays it out there. He takes a step away from Gigi expecting some kind of negative reaction.

Gigi stands still looking a little confused, not sure what needs to be reshot. “It’s just a documentary. Why would I need to redo my interview?”

TJ shuts his eyes regretting those words Gigi said. Now she wants to know the reason Katie sent him over.
“Nothing was really wrong with the answers you gave. It was all a very flattering interview and Katie loved it. It’s just some aspects could be better, She’s written down the few things you could say better.”

TJ hands Gigi a touched up script that Katie had prepared. She takes it and reviews to see just how outrageous it is.
“Also your acting could be a lot better for the film.” TJ ends it on a strong note.

“Excuse me?” Gigi looking up from the script. TJ turns ready to run if he has too. Hoping that Gigi remembers that he is just a messenger.

Maddy walks up next to Gigi and leans over glancing at the script. “Gigi is going to be in a movie? That is so cool. Do I get to be in it too?”

“Sorry, Katie only has Gigi penned down for this script.” TJ replies to her. Maddy lowers her head and turns away disappointed.

“No, this is actually better. Maddy can read this script instead and take my part.” Gigi tries to renegotiate with TJ. “That way you’ll have a much better actress instead of me.”

“I didn’t say that. It was just a small, tiny critique about your performance. All actors get them.” TJ tries digging himself out of his own grave. “Katie needs you. She’s always supported you. Even on this whole single’s venture that you’re on.”

“Really?” Gigi closes the script and holds it up in her hands. She looks at TJ wanting to hear more.

“Yes. She was totally supportive of your little invitational run in.” TJ explains.

Gigi hands the script back to TJ and pushes him back away from the door. “Thanks TJ. I’m good.”

“What about the reshoots?” TJ holds up the film camera in his hand.

“Already did it.” Gigi closes the door shut.

“So that was interesting.” Ash says to Gigi walking back into the apartment.

“Can you believe them? I don’t need this right now. I have way too much to figure out right now?” Gigi holds her hand to her head feeling a headache coming on.

Maddy walks over to her. “So what are we doing today?” Maddy putting her arm around Gigi.

Gigi looks at Maddy. She knows what she doesn’t want to tell her. Remembering the past. Luckily she knows Maddy well enough to know what she wants to hear to make her smile. “Championship ambitious.”

It worked and Maddy smiled at Gigi. The girls are on the same page as they put their energy together and focus to help Gigi and her current quest.

“I have made a terrible mistake. I know this was a monumental decision that I made. To try and go out and make it on my own in a place that has the toughest people in it. Making the decision that I’m going to do this on my own. I should be smarter than this. Smarter than how Katie had put it. ‘It’s what we Stewards’ do’. Diving head first into the deep end of the pool. That shouldn’t be me. I can play this smarter. I can outwit people and get the better of them.”

“Deanna Frost isn’t so different from me. We’ve both learned from the big stars of this place. If I can beat her on Breakdown that will give me a lot of ground to cover. Katie will get what she would want and a step closer to another tag title shot. I can even get some people saying my name about a possible title match of my own. That’s how big of a challenge Deanna poses and why I need to overcome her and win. I don’t think she’s someone who would overlook someone like me. She’ll know I’m hungry and I’ll give her a fight. I don’t know how much of a fight she’s going to want, but I’m going to give her everything that I can.”

Gigi takes a breath. She holds her hands together. Gigi starts to dig deep looking for something, anything she needs for her upcoming match.

“I’ll dig down and find some way to beat Deanna, but Deanna. I said I need to be smarter and I know you’re as smart as I am too. Like I said, this match is pretty big, not just for me. I won’t approve of it, but you know no one tells her what to do.”
