The city of Charlotte, North Carolina is busy this afternoon and “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter, along with his beloved girlfriend Melinda Braddock, is out and about. A few days have passed since SCW Breakdown when Sutter learned that he would get another crack at the Television Title in a triple threat ladder match against Adam Brock and Ryan Lecavalier. This is precisely what The Assassin had wanted. It didn’t matter to Clyde whether it was one on one or two on one. It didn’t even matter to him that it was a ladder match. The Assassin just wanted this opportunity to bring the championship home, especially after his first opportunity was ruined thanks to outside interference from Waylon Creek. Sutter has been campaigning for another title match and now he gets it. This time he plans to take full advantage and not waste it. But with that in mind, the question must be asked; what brings Sutter and Melinda to Charlotte this afternoon? His upcoming Television Title ladder match wasn’t the only revelation he received on Breakdown. The Assassin also was met with the unexpected return of his former manager; Mason Van Stanton. Sutter once had a relationship with Mason Van Stanton, one that did not end on a positive note. Mason’s reemergence has come at a time when Sutter’s psychiatrist suggested that he seek out a father figure for his life. Needless to say, at first the thought of a renewed relationship of any sort with Mason Van Stanton was not something Clyde was interested in. Yet Mason seemed very interested in him. Van Stanton insisted that he was concerned with Sutter’s well being after learning of the harassment Clyde had been enduring at the hands of his sister Lilith Sutter. That night on Breakdown in Salt Lake City, Sutter had once again rejected Mason. Yet, after a few days of thinking about the events of that evening, The Assassin has had a change of heart. He isn’t entire sure he can trust Mason Van Stanton. The man is a con artist, after all. But he was instrumental in getting Sutter’s foot in the door at SCW and, as twisted as it was, for the longest time Mason was the closest thing Sutter had to a father figure. Sutter’s psychiatrist believes he should have a father figure in his life, so perhaps it could serve Clyde well to at least give Van Stanton another chance.
Clyde and his beloved, Melinda Braddock, are walking the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina. Sutter owns an apartment in Charlotte, one of the few items he kept from his time working with Mason. It is not too far away from Mason’s office where he operates his managerial agency. In fact, it is within walking distance, making this trip very convenient for the pair. While Clyde seems confident about this upcoming visit, Melinda is clearly a little concerned. “I just want to go on record that I think this is a bad idea.” Melinda says. Clyde chuckles and nods his head.
“Yes, I know. But people deserve a second chance, even someone like him.”
“But you know what kind of person he is.”
“Of course I do.” Sutter answers quickly. “He never hid the fact that he was a dishonest conman. But as I said earlier, my love, people deserve a second chance. After all, I was one of the worst human beings imaginable. The things I did to others…to you…they are unconscionable…”
“That’s different, Clyde, and you know it.”
“Is it really different?” Sutter shakes his head. “I sought out help and I changed. And after convincing you that I had changed, you gave me a second chance. Who is to say that Mason has not turned over a new leaf like I have? Who am I to turn down his offer to reconcile?”
“Just tell me something…” Melinda looks up into Clyde’s eyes “...do you want to reconcile for business purposes or for personal reasons? You told me that your psychiatrist wanted you to have a father figure in your life. Please don’t tell me that you are considering this scumbag.”
“Dr. Carter’s suggestion of a father figure is sound. But Mason?” Sutter shakes his head. “I admit, that would be a stretch.”
“Then what is this about?”
“Look, we have a history together. He helped me get my start in professional wrestling. I wouldn’t be here today were it not for him. And it does sound like he is sincere about his concern for me. I just want to give him a second chance, my love. Where things go from here is anyone’s guess. Only Fate knows.”
“Right, fate…” Melinda sighs with frustration “...sometimes Fate is annoying.”
“We operate on Fate’s time, not our own.” Clyde kisses her on the cheek. “Now then, we should arrive at his office just around the corner…”
Clyde and Melinda turn a corner and immediately the eyes of The Assassin grow wide. This is not the structure he was used to seeing during his time working with Mason Van Stanton. Sutter recalls Mason having a very simplistic structure, mainly because he couldn’t afford much more. This building is far more impressive characterized by its reflective glass façade framed by crisp, white edges. Mason’s new office consists of multiple interconnected rectangular sections, each lined with large, uniform windows that mirror the pale blue sky and the surrounding greenery. Trees with neatly trimmed canopies are evenly spaced along the sidewalk, providing a touch of natural contrast against the glass and metal exterior. Even Melinda, who has never been to Mason’s office before, can tell that something is wrong based on the look on Clyde’s face.
“What’s wrong, babe?” Melinda asks.
“This is not right.” He shakes his head. “He cannot afford this.”
“Apparently he can.” Melinda looks at the impressive sight before her and then she looks back up at Clyde. “Maybe we should leave?”
“No…something is wrong and I will not leave until I learn what it is…” The Assassin starts to walk with a determined stride up to the front doors of this office building with Melinda desperately trying to keep up. The angry and intimidating Sutter pushes the doors open with a strong force and Melinda follows closely behind. Even the interior is far grander and more luxurious than he remembers, which only adds fuel to the fire of this mystery. He pauses momentarily to ponder this before stepping up to the front desk where a secretary is waiting. Mason had never had a secretary before…
“Where is Mason?”
“Mr. Van Stanton is in his office but he is meeting with a client, you will have to wait.”
“He will see me whenever I say.” Clyde growls angrily. Melinda finally catches up to him. She tugs his arm and again begs, pleadingly.
“Clyde, babe, just drop it. Let’s go.”
“I apologize, my love, but something is not right about this, about any of it.”
He pulls away from Melinda and then storms past the secretary’s desk and towards the office of Mason Van Stanton. The secretary tries calling out to him but it falls upon deaf ears. Melinda does all she can and that is to follow Clyde and try to keep his anger in check. Braddock fears that her boyfriend is nearing his breaking point, that his anger may boil over at any point. She doesn’t understand. But then again, she couldn’t understand. Clyde’s anger comes from being lied to and manipulated his entire life. He fears that one again he is being lied to, he is being manipulated, by a man he was going to give a second chance. This serves to infuriate The Assassin as he marches up to Van Stanton’s office and forces his way in through the door. As soon as he steps inside he is met by an unexpected and unwelcome sight; Mason Van Stanton sitting on a sofa next to Clyde’s sister Lilith Sutter. Van Stanton’s eyes instantly grow wide with shock. He stands up and starts to back away immediately.
“Clyde…what are you doing here?!”
“Well isn’t this a pleasant surprise.” Lilith snickers knowingly. “My brother is here.” Lilith rises up off of the sofa and approaches Clyde. She gives him a kiss on his cheek and then turns to face Mason. “My apologies, Mr. Van Stanton, but our business for the day must conclude. My brother made it clear that he wants nothing to do with me and thus, since he is here, I must take my leave.” Lilith walks past Clyde and briefly stops in front of Melinda. She laughs scoffingly before walking past her as well and exiting the office altogether. The moment she is gone, Clyde grabs Mason by the collar of his shirt and throws him against a wall.
“Explain yourself!”
“Clyde! Please!” Melinda begs as she keeps her distance. “You are losing control!”
“I beg you, please listen to her!” Mason says. “You are losing your temper! Think!”
“At this point I’m not sure I care!” Sutter roughly drops Mason to the ground. Van Stanton slowly pulls himself up but he is backed into a corner by the imposing Sutter. “I came here to give you a second chance. But now I found out that you were manipulating me all along.”
“Let me explain…”
“I should have known better.” Clyde shakes his head. “You told me that you had heard that my sister had returned. That should have raised a red flag. Of course you heard because you were working with her all along.”
“I didn’t have much of a choice!” Mason exclaims as he begs off, praying that Clyde won’t beat him any further. “My agency, it was about to go under. I had trouble paying the bills. I was about to lose everything. Lilith stepped in and offered to pay my bills and prop me up financially going forward. I had to work with her otherwise I would have lost everything.”
“You of all people should know that someone like her never does anything out of the goodness of her own heart. She always wants something out of it.” Clyde remarks coldly.
“Yeah…” Mason sighs “...she wanted to use me to get close to you.”
“And you helped her.” Sutter chuckles. “Although I find this ironic. You bought and sold so many people in the past with your nefarious business dealings. Now my sister owns you. She gave you your agency back, she gave it so much more prestige and luxury. But you know deep down that she can take it all away in an instant.” He sneers. “How does it feel to be the one owned, Mason?”
With that said Clyde Sutter turns and storms out of the office. Melinda rushes to keep up with him. Melinda was right, this was a bad idea. Then again, some good did come from this. Sutter at least knows that his sister is still playing her games. He won’t be taken by surprise again anytime soon. Still, what is she up to? What will she do next?

We open outside in a park in Nashville, Tennessee. The sun shines high overhead providing light and beauty. Large, vibrant green trees can be seen off in the distance. Then, stepping into the scene, is “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter along with his lovely girlfriend Melinda Braddock. Melinda leans gracefully against Sutter’s arm with elegance and poise yet there’s a subtle hint of vulnerability as she clings to Clyde’s arm, suggesting a mix of strength and dependence. Her platinum-blonde hair cascades in soft, voluminous waves over her shoulders, framing her striking features and intense gaze. She wears a figure-hugging satin mini dress in a shimmering champagne hue, accentuating her curves and contrasting beautifully against her fair skin. The dress’s silky material reflects the light, adding a touch of glamour. She completes her ensemble with sleek black stiletto heels with red soles. Clyde Sutter is a tall, muscular, and has an intimidating, imposing presence. He wears a sharp black suit with a fitted jacket that emphasizes his broad shoulders and athletic build. The jacket is unbuttoned, revealing a crisp white dress shirt beneath, slightly unbuttoned at the collar. His stance is assertive, with one hand adjusting his jacket and the other resting near his chest, projecting a powerful and protective aura. His expression is serious, eyes focused forward, conveying a sense of determination or contemplation.
“Fate often puts all the material for happiness and prosperity into a man’s hands just to see how miserable he can make himself with them.” Melinda says with a mocking tone. She chuckles. “I suppose that could be applied to a certain Monarch.” She points a finger at the camera. “Yes, I am talking about you, Ryan, our reigning SCW Television Champion. You joined Supreme Championship Wrestling and made an instant impact. You quickly rose in the ranks and became a champion. And yet now that you have the gold, ask yourself…was it worth it? Fate GAVE you that Television Championship, Ryan. You have everything you wanted only because FATE allowed it. Now that you have everything you wanted it, are you happy? Is it all worth it? The harassment you have endured…weeks of defending that championship against the likes of Dante Slayton, Oskar Theron, Adam Brock…and yes, my love Clyde Sutter…” she looks up at The Assassin briefly before turning back to the camera and smirking “...how does it feel to be run through the wringers? Can you continue being the workhorse champion of SCW or has the pressure gotten to you? Fate gave you the championship but not without consequences. You have to deal with people like Adam Brock and, of course, Clyde Sutter. Are you truly happy with your place in SCW right now or has this gift Fate has given you made you miserable? And now things are about to get even more miserable. Right, Clyde?”
“Quite correct, my love.” The Assassin chuckles. “Ms. Lecavalier, your reign as Television Champion has been commendable. Your quick run to the top in SCW has been admirable. But your problem is that you think you were singularly responsible for all of your success. The mistake you and everyone else makes is the belief you have that you are somehow in control of your own Fate. Fate is in control, Ms. Lecavalier, and your belief to the contrary only brings about feelings of false hope. False hope only sets people up for a let down and a great disappointment. Fate set you up to be great, Ms. Lacavalier, but this false hope you give yourself, this false sense of invincibility, this false sense of greatness, only sets you up for a greater disappointment and greater fall. You pushed yourself much harder and much farther than Fate allowed. That was a mistake, but you made an even worse mistake and that was ignoring the will of Fate.” The Assassin nods his head.
“You DO recall when you defended that championship against me, do you not? You do recall how that match ended, do you not? You won but you did so by disqualification. Now this isn’t me making excuses. I live by the will of Fate and accept the hand Fate has dealt me. But you, Ms. Lecavalier, how does it feel knowing that you survived ONLY because you were attacked by Waylon Creek? How does it feel knowing that you are still champion despite never being able to pin or make me tap out? If you are a champion worth your salt then you should not be pleased with that outcome. You should have granted me the one on one rematch that I deserved, the one on one rematch that Fate required. Yet you refused, you ducked me in favor of who? That simpleton Adam Brock?” Sutter shakes his head. “You made several mistakes, Ms. Lecavalier and now look at the position you find yourself in. You are defending the Television Championship against two competitors in a triple threat match where you don’t have to be pinned or made to submit to lose the title. How ironic…you retained despite not pinning me or making me submit…now you could lose the title without being pinned or made to submit. Oh but it gets better, because a pin or a submission won’t even help you at all.” He snickers nastily.
“Fate has set up a figurative and literal ladder of success that you must climb in order to prove your worth and save your championship but believe me, you will not save your title reign. You will climb that ladder but you will fall…your reign will fall...your aura itself will fall from the ladder. Everything you value, everything you have achieved in SCW, all of it hangs suspended high above the ring and you will watch helplessly as I climb that ladder over your broken and beaten body to claim all of it for myself. And you cannot stop me, no one can stop me, especially not Mr. Brock.” The Assassin grins evilly.
“Here we are again, Mr. Brock, reunited by Fate. You thought that one victory in Dusseldorf, Germany would somehow get rid of me? If you thought that I would shrink from someone like you then you are wrong. And if you think that you can stand between me and the Television Championship then, once again, you are wrong. This ladder match was set up by Fate itself, crafted by Fate to crown me as champion. This ladder match was crafted by Fate so that I can put an end to you once and for all.” Sutter shakes his head. “It is a task that I do not take pride in; I do not revel in putting an end to people like you, Mr. Brock, but in this case I really and truly have no other option. You have given me no other choice but to end you much sooner than Fate had intended and it is all your fault.” He points a finger at the camera.
“Contrary to your…misguided opinions, Mr. Brock, I am no bully. Furthermore, nothing is personal. Everything, including this ladder match, is just business. My business is Fate and my business this week is capturing the Television Championship. Yet from the moment I arrived in SCW back at Fatal Fortunes you have had me as your target. I never picked a fight with you, you picked a fight with me that led to Dusseldorf. And even after you won you still wouldn’t leave well enough alone. I was cheated out of the Television Title and I was merely coming after Ms. Lecavalier to get what I was owed…a simple rematch. But you kept involving yourself in my affairs to the point that you STOLE the rematch that should have been mine from the start. And now instead of a simple solution, instead of the proper solution of me receiving a one on one title match, you, Ms. Lecavalier, and myself must deal with the carnage and chaos of a ladder match.” The Assassin laughs as he runs his hands through his long black hair. “Somehow Mr. Desoubrais believes that this serves as a form of punishment? He believes that this puts me at a disadvantage?”
“He is a fool.” Melinda says laughing nastily. Clyde nods his head in agreement.
“Indeed he is. This plays right into the hands of Fate, Mr. Desoubrais. See, not only do I get the Television Title Match that I am owed, not only does it throw the rulebook out of the window and give me free reign to do whatever I need to do, to inflict as much punishment and carnage as I can, in order to win the match, but this match you created also gives me the opportunity to deal with two troublesome nuisances in one swift stroke. In one match I get to take the Television Title from Ms. Lecavalier and in the process I get to break Mr. Brock in half and thus never have to deal with him ever again. You have set the table for my coronation, Mr. Desoubrais, so I thank you and Fate thanks you. You have done the will of Fate by giving me precisely what I wanted. Ms. Lecavalier, Mr. Brock…this ends on Breakdown. Your Fate is sealed.”
Clyde and Melinda slowly walk away. The camera fades to black.
