Well, well, well…. Betcha didn’t expect that at Retribution, did ya?

Kandis smirks into the camera. She’s sitting on the apron of an Ante Up training ring, a familiar sight for Kandis fans, yet one not seen in quite some time.

I mean, usually ‘indefinite suspension’ ends with a quiet contract release and a pat on the head sending you along to future endeavors. But…. Not for this bitch. Nah, SCW can’t get rid of me that easily…. Or that quietly. I mean come on, did you really think I would just fade away and never be heard from again?

Hi, have you met me?

Of course you have. I’m the loudest, brashiest… and you know I have to say hottest, woman SCW has ever seen. I’ve been a World Champion. I’m a four time Tag Team Champion. And I know y’all know better than to think you’d never see me again.

I am pretty proud of how confused all those videos made everyone, though. I can’t claim it as my own idea, but man…. If y’all could have seen the looks on the faces in the crowd from my perspective that night? Well, you might have all just gotten your underwear soaked…. Because let me tell you know fucking arousing that reaction was.

Closing her eyes for a moment, Kandis seems to be recalling the night of Retribution and the moment she’s speaking of. A smile forms on her face, then she makes an exaggerated shiver through her body.

Whooo! I hope it was as good for all of you as it was for me.

She winks.

But! All of that… the reaction, the sound of the crowd, the way the screams and cheers made the air move, all of it… none of that was nearly as good as the way it felt to walk out there in front of an SCW crowd again…. Not alone.

And that was the real surprise, wasn’t it? Seeing Tommy walk out there with me? I know everyone thought he’d never do it. Never compete again. I heard the ridiculous rumors. That his shoulder was shot from that accident years ago. That he gave up after not becoming World Champion when he had to take my place against Selena when I fucked my knee up. Or… my favorite one, that I made him retire so I would get all of the attention.

Kandis laughs.

I mean come on, really? Don’t get me wrong, I am your whore after all, and that does include being an attention whore, but let me tell you something I’ve learned since being married to the man… no one can make Tommy do anything that Tommy doesn’t want to do.

So, why did he wait so long?

Kandis holds a hand up, four fingers in the air.

Four times Tommy and I carried those titles. Sometimes we even carried the entire division. I remember one time we declared that we had to get the titles back, because we had to save the division. I think we did a pretty good job of that, personally.

That’s not why we’re doing this now, though. The Tag Tea, Division? Doesn’t need saving. It’s been carried on the sturdy shoulders of Light in the Darkness for months, until recently. I may not know too much about these Fall of Man guys who beat them for the belts, Waylon Creek and Giovanni Aries… well, I know Aries a little at least… but I do know a lot about the man leading their little fan club, James Evans. A multiple time Tag Champion himself, one of those reigns ended by yours truly. So Creek and Aries absolutely know what they’re doing, even if some of their methods….

Kandis makes a ‘so-so’ motion with her hand.

Are what some people would call questionable. Hey, I’m not throwing stones, Tommy and me aren’t innocent and fuck knows I’d never claim myself as anything close to that word. I’m just stating facts. My point is… just those two teams alone show the strength of the division right now. But let’s run it back. Glory and Brittany? Solid. Cowgirls from Hell? Vicious. Hollywood? A little ridiculous, but capable. European Firey Nation? Well… do not get me started on their so-called leader, or that camera might run out of battery power. But… those guys are brutal. And I can’t leave out the newest team who might be our opponents this week… so new in fact that the shine is still on em and I bet if I rubbed their foreheads they would squeak… The Product. Alex Hudson and Isaac Stone. Another team led by a man with pedigree. Hi Josh, howya been? Busy in and out of the ring, so it seems. These kids might be puppies but I’m not naïve enough to think that they’d be let loose in an SCW ring unless they were truly ready for it.

So, as you can see, I know damn good and well this division doesn’t need saving.

It doesn’t need us.

But we need it.

What is “it,” you ask?

Kandis holds up the four fingers again…… then raises her thumb to show all five.

We already told you. Number five. We tried a while back to get that fifth reign under our names. To untie the record for most reigns by the same team, and claim that record for ourselves. Listen, there are many things we don’t mind sharing, as you all know… but that record? We want that all to ourselves.

We’re not coming in here making demands, claiming some long-forgotten and dusty rematch clause… that maybe technically exists, I don’t know, I haven’t kept track of that…. no. We’re not here to skip lines or play politics. Throw us in the lineup and let us fight our way up to where we know we belong.

That’s what we plan to do starting this week at Breakdown. It’s quite a welcome back, being put into a match where we don’t even know who we’re gonna face. The first tag team match for The Connection in years… and we already have the odds stacked against us. The fans get to choose. Do we face the brutes led by our old frienemy Konrad? Do we face the boys who seem even more enamored by their own appearance than I ever was? Or do we face the product of Josh Hudson’s loins and teachings?

Okay… that was skeevy, even for me.

Anyway… we don’t know. They don’t know. And to me? That’s the beauty of it all. We surprised SCW at Retribution, now we get surprised by who we’ll face. Seems fair to me.

I can’t promise we’ll win. I can promise that you won’t be expecting us to move as if no time has passed, but we will. I can promise that no matter what happens at Breakdown, we won’t rest until we get that number five. Y’all want to find out how good we still are, after all this time?
