The 2025 Trios Tournament has arrived and Clyde Sutter is more convinced than ever that Fate is on his side. The biggest evidence that Fate has already chosen its Trios winner is the fact that Clyde gets his girlfriend, Melinda Braddock, on his Trios team with him. That means this team already has a natural tag team chemistry built in. The only thing they have to worry about is making sure they can work with Alex Belmont. And when you look at their quarter finals opposition, again Fate has seemingly stacked the deck; Diamond Steele has not had any luck in SCW since her arrival and Dexter Grant doesn’t even want any part of the Trios Tournament to begin with. That leaves Chris Lawler with two partners who likely will not be on the same page. The Harbinger of Fate is convinced that he and his beloved will manage to work together with Belmont, and if not they will drag him kicking and screaming across the finish line and win the Trios Tournament.

Before The Assassin can turn his attention to The Trios Tournament Quarter Finals, he has a job to do in London, England. His close associate, Joey, has been stalked, Sutter’s Charlotte, North Carolina apartment was broken into, and Sutter believes that the culprit may be an old associate of his looking for revenge. Clyde Sutter knows full well that he has made plenty of enemies in his long and sordid past. Would one of those enemies be willing to take his revenge on The Assassin? Definitely. Sutter knows all too well about what street justice means. If this person is seeking street justice, then it is up to Sutter to get the jump on them before they can finish the job.

The streets of London were quiet, the kind of quiet that only came after the last rush of nightlife had drained away and the city settled into its late-hour hum. A thin drizzle misted the air, softening the glow of streetlights that reflected off the slick cobblestones. Clyde Sutter stood beneath one of those lights, a dark silhouette against the faint gleam of rain. He was tall, broad-shouldered, his long black hair damp where it brushed the collar of his leather jacket. His hands were shoved deep into his pockets, the kind of posture that suggested patience and purpose. The restaurant behind him had gone dark nearly an hour ago. The elegant script on the frosted glass doors was barely legible in the dim light. Inside, chairs were stacked on tables, and the faint clatter of cleaning echoed through the closed space. Every so often, a shadow moved past the window; a reminder that the night hadn’t completely claimed the building yet. Clyde’s gaze lingered down the street, his eyes flicking from one end to the other as though expecting someone to appear at any moment. He wasn’t pacing, though. He stood still, resolute, his expression calm but unreadable. The rain gathered in his hair and ran down the side of his face, but he didn’t seem to notice. His breath rose in pale clouds, dissipating quickly into the damp London air.

The sound of a door unlatching broke the stillness. A faint creak followed as one of the side doors opened, spilling a rectangle of warm light across the pavement. A man in a white shirt and apron stepped out, rubbing his arms against the chill. He was approximately the same age as Clyde himself, he seemed exhausted from a long day’s work, and definitely not expecting company this late in the evening. His eyes met Clyde’s almost immediately, narrowing with suspicion. The worker hesitated a moment before letting the door swing closed behind him. Clyde didn’t move. He simply turned his head slightly, acknowledging the man’s presence but saying nothing. The worker exhaled, squared his shoulders, and took a step forward, ready to tell the stranger that the restaurant was closed and it was time to move along.

“Hey, mate, you need to leave.” The worker says commandingly.

“I’m not leaving.” Sutter answers back stoically. The worker sighs out of frustration.

“We’re closed, mate. You have to go.”

“And I said I am not leaving.” The Assassin begins to approach the worker. Sutter knows when to turn on the intimidation factor and he does just that. The worker backs up slowly, not wanting an encounter with this angry young man. Sutter sneers angrily as the worker is backed up against a wall with nowhere to go.

“I don’t want any problems, mate!”

“Neither do I…” Clyde lets his voice trails off for a moment before dropping the bomb “...Callum.”

“Huh?” The worker looks confused for a moment and then surprised, as if his jaw hit the floor with shock. “What did you say?”

“Callum. That is your name, correct Mr. Slater?”

“Yes but….” Callum shakes his head “...how did you know? How do you know me?”

“Don’t play innocent.” Clyde snarls. He senses that Slater is about to try and make a break for it. Sutter reaches out with both arms and traps Callum against the wall before he can even think of running. “You know me.”

“I’m not playing, mate!” Callum shakes his head. “I don’t know you!”

The Harbinger of Fate is growing angrier by the second. He doesn’t like being messed with or lied to and he is convinced Callum Slater is lying. How could Callum Slater not remember the man who injured him and thus ended his wrestling career before it even had a chance to begin? Callum and Clyde were both students at the Braddock Wrestling School. Both were common street thugs looking to improve their lives with wrestling. Sutter, unfortunately, could not control his anger. He would regularly injure his fellow students and Callum Slater was among the last victims before he was kicked out of the Braddock Wrestling School. Why is all of this important? Sutter has recently been the victim of a stalker. His associates, such as Joey, is convinced he is being stalked. Sutter’s apartment in Charlotte, North Carolina was broken into and ransacked. The Assassin is convinced that Callum Slater is the mastermind behind this stalking situation. He is convinced Callum Slater is out for revenge and Sutter is going to put an end to him before he can go any farther.

“You don’t know me?” Sutter sneers. “Very well. I will play your game. Look into my eyes, Mr. Slater.” He pulls Callum in close to gaze deep into his eyes. “Do you remember this face?”

“No…” Callum shakes his head. He is trying to sound brave but his face betrays him.

“Do you remember the name Clyde Sutter?” The Assassin asks. Callum’s eyes grow wide with shock, indicating that his memories are beginning to come flooding back.

“My God…”

“Do you remember the Braddock Wrestling School? Because I do.” Sutter smirks. “I remember a wimpy street thug named Callum Slater who tried to use professional wrestling to better his life, but then I took it upon myself to injure that street thug and end his hopes and dreams.”

Sutter can see the growing fear in Slater’s eyes. Without warning Callum shoves Clyde. Ordinarily it wouldn’t be enough to force Sutter away, but he wasn’t expecting it and thus Callum is able to slip free. Callum tries to make a break for it but Clyde is too quick. He runs up on him, grabs him by the shoulder and puts a quick end to his run. Sutter spins him around and presses him back up against the wall.

“Now why are you trying to run?” He smirks knowingly. “We’re just two old friends catching up on old times.”

“Look, I remember you,” Callum shakes his head “but I don’t want any trouble. Just let me go!”

“Isn’t this what you wanted?” Clyde demands angrily. “You want street justice? So here is your chance!”

There is an anger in Sutter’s voice and hatred on his face. The Assassin is bracing himself for a fight but he seems surprised, maybe even annoyed, that Callum is still feigning innocence. Callum seems perplexed, maybe even confused.

“What are you talking about?”

“Quit playing dumb, Slater.” Sutter angrily commands. “I know what you have done! If you want revenge try and take it out right here and now! Face to face!”

“I have no clue what you are on about, mate…” Callum shakes his head furiously, more nervous than ever that Sutter is about to lose his temper.

“Still playing games?” Sneers. “Fine, I’ll keep playing the game. Allow me to remind you about how you have been stalking me, how you broke into my apartment in Charlotte…does any of this ring any bells?”

“No!” Callum exclaims shaking his head. “I had nothing to do with any of that!”

“Oh really?” Sutter seems skeptical. He leans in close to ramp up the intimidation factor. “So tell me, Mr. Slater, if that is true, what have you been doing since you left the Braddock Wrestling School?”

There is a tense pause as Sutter backs off ever so slightly to give Callum Slater room to breathe and talk. The still fearful Slater sighs and looks into Sutter’s cold, almost emotionless eyes. He nods his head.

“I admit, I did fall back into crime briefly. It was all I knew.”

“It was all either of us knew.” Sutter muses.

“But I got help.” Slater states. “I found the Julia Foundation and got help. They helped me clean up, get rehabilitated, and they even helped me get this job where I’m working to pay off my medical bills.”

“The medical bills resulting from my assault, I assume?” Sutter asks. Callum sighs and nods his head in confirmation.

“Yeah…but the doctors I found are miracle workers. They even think that I can resume my wrestling training really soon.”

“So you’re still pursuing your dreams?” Sutter is genuinely surprised to hear this. Slater nods his head.

“That’s right. Wrestling is what I wanted to do and nothing will keep me from it that easily.” Callum smiles for the first time since his encounter with Sutter. “And no, I don’t hold any grudges against you, Clyde.”

“You don’t?”

“Wrestling is a full contact sport.” Slater answers. “Injuries happen. I get it.”

The Assassin takes in the words he just heard come from the mouth of Callum Slater. He looks into his former associate’s eyes and the more he thinks about it, the more he begins to realize that Callum could not be the one behind these recent incidents of stalking and breaks in, all of this harassment directed towards him and his associates. Slater would not be behind this because he has no motive. Revenge just isn’t on his mind because he, like Clyde himself, is a changed man. He has no reason to hold him hostage.

“Go…” Clyde motions for him to leave “...I apologize for this evening, Mr. Slater.”

“No need to apologize.” Slater remarks. “If you really have been through the kind of crap you described, I don’t blame you for blowing up.”

“But I jumped to the conclusion and I blamed you.”

“It was a perfectly logical conclusion.” Slater chuckles. “We both come from the streets. I probably would’ve thought the same thing had the roles been reversed.”

“Still, it was wrong for me to accuse you and to intimidate you the way I did, especially after I was the one responsible for your situation in the first place.”

“Look, Clyde” Callum reaches up and places a hand on his chest “we’re good, mate. Ok? I forgive you.”

“Thank you, Mr. Slater.”

“No problem, mate.” He answers. “Now take care of you and yours.”

“I will.” Clyde smiles. “And perhaps, if Fate wills it, I will see you in the ring one day?”

“You bet I will.”

The camera begins to roll. We are outside in London, England and we find the enigmatic, classy, yet intimidating couple known as “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter and his girlfriend “The Third Generation Goddess” Melinda Braddock. Sutter’s long black wavy hair falls past his shoulders, framing his angular face. He wears a dark black three-piece suit paired with a white dress shirt and a tie. Beside him Melinda has her long blonde hair cascading over one shoulder and her expression radiates calm elegance. She wears a shimmering metallic gown t hat clings gracefully to her figure with a deep neckline and delicate straps. Behind them, the evening London sky glows in deep blue tones as the last light of day fades, and the warm glow of city lamps reflects off the grand architecture.

“There’s nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be.” Sutter chuckles softly. “You never knew that John Lennon was such a philosopher, did you? I bet you didn’t realize Mr. Lennon was such a firm believer in Fate, did you? Well, regardless of his thoughts on Fate, the fact remains that he was absolutely correct when he made that statement. There truly is nowhere you can be that isn’t where you are meant to be and that is because of Fate. Fate puts us where we are meant to be. I was meant to be a professional wrestler and what’s more I was meant to be right here in Supreme Championship Wrestling and despite certain people’s best efforts, I am right where I was meant to be.”

“My grandfather was a legend. My mother was a legend. It was my destiny that not only should I follow in their footsteps but that I would one day surpass them in greatness.” Melinda states with a smug hint of arrogance in her voice. “I am The Third Generation Goddess and I am right where I am supposed to be, in Supreme Championship Wrestling, standing side by side with my man, Clyde Sutter.” Melinda leans in for a kiss. Clyde kisses her on the lips. He straightens up and then looks back into the camera.

“Fate doesn’t make mistakes and Fate does not rely on luck. The concepts of luck or chaos are all proven to be flawed in the face of Fate because Fate rules us all. If you want proof then just look at this upcoming 2025 Trios Tournament. This is supposed to be the tournament that is ruled by the chaos and luck of random draws. The old and overused phrase of ‘strange bedfellows’ comes to mind when you think of the odd pairings you get in the Trios Tournament. Yet here again, Fate is in control…not luck, certainly not chaos…but Fate and Fate alone is in control. Right, my love?” He looks over at Melinda who snickers knowingly.

“Of course. How else do you explain the fact that in my very first Trios Tournament ever I get my boyfriend, my fiancee, The Harbinger of Fate himself, Clyde Sutter drawn as one of my two Trios Tournament partners? This isn’t a case of friends having to fight one another or enemies having to work together. Quite the contrary. Me and Clyde are a well-oiled machine. All of the other Trios Tournament teams will have to spend hours, maybe even days, trying to figure out tag team chemistry.” She shakes her head. “Most will never work out that tag team chemistry. But Clyde and I already have that built in tag team chemistry. We have that advantage over every other tag team.” Braddock holds up one finger. “We only need to get along with ONE guy, Alex Belmont, and that’s it. Tell me that Fate isn’t smiling on us?”

“Mr. Belmont, you are a former SCW World Tag Team Champion. Emphasis on former.” Sutter smirks. “I imagine it must have been humiliating to lose to a team such as The Glimmer Sisters. Now do not mistake what I am saying, Mr. Belmont, I do not bring this up to provoke you. I merely wish to motivate you. I wish to remind you that one loss, one defeat, is not the end for your foundation. The power of a Trios Contract is great indeed. You can give yourself, or your friends, any match of your choosing. You could regain the SCW World Tag Team Title. You could go after the SCW World Title. You could have anything your heart desires. And Fate is ready to gift your foundation with that kind of power. You must only do one thing and that is to work together with myself and my beloved. I trust that is motivation enough to work with us and put down our opposition?” Sutter smirks. Melinda Braddock nods her head.

“Speaking of the opposition, these other teams want to make me shake my head in disgust. Strader cannot get along with anyone and Gavin only cares about making everything Gavin again. Oskar Theron hates everything. Does anyone actually think a pervert like Derek Adonis can really get along with Xander Valentine? But the opposition I want to focus on is the most immediate threat…”

“I would hardly call them a threat, love.” Sutter remarks.

“Very true. Nevertheless, they are opposition in the quarter finals. Let’s run it down shall we?” The Third Generation Goddess smirks. “Diamond Steele hasn’t been able to even buy a win lately. Let’s not forget that I already own a victory over the other Steele girls last week on Breakdown, Sapphire and Ruby. Then we go from someone who can’t win to someone who doesn’t even want to participate in the Trios Tournament at all in Dexter Grant.” She snickers. “Oh Dexter, you just wait, I have a very special VLOG planned with you in mind, you fool. If you truly want to disconnect then why don’t you go into the woods, build a cabin, and leave there and just don’t come back to SCW again? It would make everyone here so much happier. Besides, its not like you want to participate in this tournament now do you? So just walk away. Leave your partners high and dry. You know you want to.” Braddock winks.

“Mr. Lawler,” Sutter remarks quietly with a grin on his face “Fate keeps bringing us together. Isn’t it funny, Mr. Lawler, that Fate keeps bringing us back together again and again. We were fighting over the Television Title and now here we are ready to meet in the Trios Tournament. I warned you during our last battle that Fate would have the final say. I warned you that your Fate was sealed. You would not know when, nor would know where, but Fate had written your end. Now look at the scenario, Mr. Lawler, you have one partner who cannot win and another partner who you cannot trust because he doesn’t even want to be in the match to begin with.”

“Sucks to be you!” Melinda exclaims.

“I couldn’t have put it better myself, my love.” Sutter chuckles. “Next week in Sacramento, we, along with Mr. Belmont, will destroy the opposition. We will execute the will of Fate by executing Ms. Steele, Mr. Lawler, and Mr. Grant. The Fate of this year’s Trios Tournament is sealed and you are looking at the winners.”
