The backstage area at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee is a whirlwind of activity and controlled chaos after the special July 4th edition of SCW Breakdown concluded; a mix of conversations, laughter, and the occasional groan of pain from a wrestlers nursing fresh injuries. Staff members, from stagehands to medical personnel, move with purpose. Medical staff are dealing with the night's casualties. But when it comes to chaos and casualties, no one more perfectly fits that description than “The Queen of the Death Match” Kimberly Williams. It seems as if the Underground Division is full of nothing but chaos and confusion lately. Ordinarily The Woman Scorned would love a little bit more chaos in her life, especially when it comes to the Underground. But this is different. This chaos is leaving the division and the championship in doubt. It also leaves Kimberly’s path to Rise To Greatness in question as well. The real kicker in this equation is the involvement of James Evans. First he cost Kimberly the Underground Championship. Then tonight, when new champion Eavan Maloney was about to accept Kimberly’s challenge to a rematch, James attacked her, which prompted Leroy Adams to get involved. The Underground scene is becoming less and less clear. For once, Williams feels as if there is too much chaos in her life. She wishes things were a little more clear about where she was heading for Rise To Greatness and, most importantly, when she would get her rematch at the SCW Underground Championship. All she can do is continue to press onward and the next week on Breakdown she will have to face off against Derek Adonis. It is not her ideal match. It isn’t who she wants to fight but she will show up, she will do her job, and she will compete. If she cannot have her Underground Title Match right away, then she will take her frustration and anger out on Derek Adonis.

The chaos of the Underground is not the only thing bothering Kimberly’s mind right now. Another problem gnawing at Kim’s mind is the mental issues surrounding her best friend Larry Dempsey. Kim and Larry both spent time in the same mental hospital. They helped one another through the difficult times, especially the depression and the loneliness of being locked away in that psych ward. They made a promise to watch out for each other when they were released, to keep track of each other’s progress in hopes that neither would regress back to their old ways. Kim took that promise seriously and when she realized that Larry was beginning to hear voices again, she knew that she needed to help him. Unfortunately the kind of help he wanted, Kim was not sure she could provide. Kim was convinced that he just needed to see a therapist, a psychiatrist, but Larry was deeply afraid of that prospect. He was afraid that seeing a psychiatrist would be the first step to being thrown right back into the mental hospital. Kim can understand. She won’t admit it, but she, too, shares that same fear. Her understanding of that fear is why she went to the lengths she went to in order to give him the help he desired; an exorcism. It certainly was a strange request but Kim went to great lengths to fulfill it. She could not convince a legitimate priest to perform the exorcism but she did perform one herself and she even convinced her boyfriend, Tommy Wasley, to perform one. Neither one seemed to help Larry. After exhausting all other options Larry seemed to agree to see a psychiatrist, a special psychiatrist connected closely to the Jones family who Kim could guarantee would not lock him up and would keep his secrets. Still, she cannot know for certain that he would actually go see this psychiatrist. It has been several weeks since Kim has heard from Larry and she is worried about his well being.

Now that Breakdown has concluded, Kimberly Williams can focus on the task at hand. Currently she finds herself navigating the backstage area of the FedEx Forum alongside her mother, Angelica Jones. The Matriarch of the Jones family exudes grace; her red hair is elegantly styled, complementing her tasteful, feminine attire. She wears a soft, flowing blouse in a pastel shade that highlights her fair complexion, paired with a tailored skirt that falls just below the knee. Sensible yet stylish flats adorn her feet, allowing her to move comfortably through the bustling environment. Her demeanor is warm and composed, with an aura of timeless elegance that turns heads as she passes. Kimberly, on the other hand, presents a striking contrast with her far more unique attire. Her red hair cascades freely, contrasting sharply with the deep, rich hues of her attire. She wears a velvet corset top, intricately laced and adorned with silver accents, paired with a flowing skirt that swishes dramatically as she walks. Her ensemble is completed with chunky, black combat boots and a collection of silver jewelry that glints under the backstage lights. Her makeup is bold, featuring dark lipstick and dramatic eyeliner that emphasize her vibrant personality.

“Where’s Marie?” Kim asks curiously.

“She’s still with the trainers.” Angelica points out. “She had to wrestle three times in one night against three very game opponents. You can imagine that she’s not exactly at one hundred percent right now.” Angelica sighs. “Honestly, I’m surprised she’s in such good spirits after making it to the finals of this tournament tonight only to come up short.”

“Well my sister has been little miss positivity lately!” Kim says with a wide grin on her face. “But if she had let me, I would have gladly wrestled in her place tonight.” She winks. “There’s no way anyone would have known the difference.”

“Yes, I know.” Angelica sighs. “But you know Marie would not have wanted to win like that.”

“No but you know who would have wanted that opportunity? YUYO!”

“YUYO?!”

“Yeah!” Kim exclaims. “She’s been wanting my head on a platter since she returned! It would have only been fair for me to give her that opportunity tonight!” She shakes her head. “But nooo, you wouldn’t let me!”

“You have to behave, Kim.” Angelica says in a scolding tone. “It isn’t easy being your advocate, you know? You could make easy on me if you behaved.”

“Oh c’mon, mom! I have been a good little psychopath lately!” Kim says before turning and hoping up onto a packing crate. “Take old Jimbo Evans for example. The old me would have kidnapped him, tied heavy weights to his feet, and dumped him in the middle of the ocean somewhere. But nope! I have been kind enough to let the piece of shit live.”

“I would think the consequences of being convicted of first degree murder also played a role in your restraint.” Angelica remarks sarcastically. Kim shakes her head.

“Pffft! No way! I’d just get life in prison and after spending time in a psych ward, that would be a fucking breeze!”

“I know you don’t mean that.” Angelica shakes her head. “I know first hand how you feel about being incarcerated.”

“You think you know me.” Kim smirks devilishly. “But does anyone REALLY know me? Hell, I don’t even know me! So maybe I will go and murder him? He keeps wanting to stick his nose into my business. Maybe I should stick him six feet under. Then finally I can get my rematch for the Underground Title. It should be me and Eavy one on one…” her voice trails off. Angelica sits down on the packing crate next to Kim and pats her on the back.

“Calm down, Kim. You need to refocus yourself. Ok? Trust in the process. I know you have had your issues with management in the past but this isn’t like Shaun Cruze. CHBK has been more than fair to you. He gave you your one on one rematch against James. I’m sure you will be treated fairly again this time. Just be patient and in the meantime focus on your most immediate threat and do not look into the future.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know.” Kim sticks her tongue out at Angelica. “Focus on the perverse fat man right?”

“His name is Derek Adonis and yes, you should focus on him.” Angelica points out scoldingly. “He may be…odd…but he is also a former SCW Television Champion. He can surprise you if you’re not careful.”

“I can surprise people too.” Kim smirks devilishly. “SCW may have forgotten that I am a former United States Champion and former SCW Television Champion. I’m not just some one trick Underground pony even if I do prefer that one trick.”

“Yes, I know, you keep bringing that up.” Angelica hops down off of the packing crate. “Just don’t let that chip on your shoulder distract you, you know what I mean? Focus on beating Adonis. Don’t worry about sending any messages.”

“A chip on my shoulder?” Kim laughs. “I don’t care what other people think. But I do think it is a good idea every once in awhile to remind everyone just what I am capable of and maybe the perverse fat man would be a great way to remind everyone that I am not just a Queen of the Death Match but I am also a damn good mat technician as well.”

“As long as you win, Kim, that’s all that matters.” Angelica says. The Matriarch of the Jones family notices her daughter’s eyes growing wide with surprise. She turns around to find a man she has seen before; Larry Dempsey, Kimberly’s long time best friend from the mental hospital. Dempsey strikes an imposing yet gentlemanly figure with his khaki pants, plaid shirt, and a brown jacket. Despite his presence he has a warm smile on his face that seems to diffuse any concerns Angelica may have had.

“Good evening, ladies. I hope I am not interrupting anything.”

“Lawrence of Arabia!” Kim hops down from the packing crate and embraces Larry in a tight hug. “What the hell ya doin’ here, buddy?”

“Well I had hoped to discuss that with you, if you had time of course.” He looks over at Angelica. Kim breaks the hug and looks over at her mother and nods her head.

“Can ya give us a moment?”

“Sure. I need to go check on your sister anyway.”

Angelica turns and starts to walk away. This leaves Kimberly alone with Larry. The Woman Scorned is still surprised to see her friend here and immediately gives him a gentle yet firm punch to the arm.

“Lawrence! Seriously! You stalked me all the way down here to Memphis?!”

“I was not stalking you.”

“You came all the way from Baltimore to see me. That’s stalking.” Kim smirks. “Did those voices tell you to do this?”

“Breakdown is an advertised professional wrestling event.” He points out. “I bought tickets.”

“Oh so those voices in your head are SCW fans?” Kim asks. “I bet they’re fans of Juneau McFrosty.”

“No, it’s not that.” He chuckles. “I just genuinely wanted to see you, Kimberly, because you have done so much to help me these past few weeks and I would be remiss and a very ungrateful human being if I did not thank you for all of the effort you put into assisting me through this dark patch of my life.”

“Whoa, hold up a sec there, Lawrence,” Kim backs up a few steps and tilts her head to one side, studying him intensely “does that mean you…” her voice trails off in a sense of hopeful anticipation. After an awkward pause, Larry smiles and nods his head.

“Yes, my friend. I took your advice and I went to see that doctor friend of yours; Dr. Jennifer Warren.”

“Awesome sauce!” Kim exclaims. “So how’d it go?”

“Brilliant!” He says happily. “Absolutely brilliant! Dr. Warren was positively magnificent. It turns out you were right, my friend, it was the medication all along.”

“Of course I was right!” Kim states.

“Dr. Warren changed me to a new prescription and the problems I have had have since subsided.”

“And the voices?”

“Gone.” Larry says pointedly. “The voices are gone.”

“So your problem wasn’t demonic after all?” Kim smirks. “See? You could have saved us all a lot of trouble by going to see a psychiatrist in the first place. Not that I minded playing exorcist for one night only. Although if my mom’s priest finds out I might get excommunicated. I wonder if being excommunicated is itchy?”

“Yes, my friend, you were right.” He nods his head. “I hate to admit it but you were right about everything.”

“You can say it again.” Kim says grinning. “I like hearing it!”

“Yes, you were right.”

“Great!” Kim hugs Larry again. “I’m just happy to hear that everything is going well.”

“You know, my friend, I learned a great deal from taking on my fear head on and seeing Dr. Warren. Perhaps you should try it.”

“Try what?” Kim aks curiously.

“Try conquering your fear. Go see Dr. Warren yourself.”

“Oh no, Lawrence of Arabia.” Kim shakes her head and then points a finger at him. “You were the one with the problem, not me.”

“I know better, my friend.” He shakes his head. “We have no secrets between us and I recall very well what you told me on that final day, the day before you were to be released from the mental hospital. Do you remember, Kimberly?” Kim’s demeanor suddenly changes after being asked this question by Dempsey. Kim shakes her head.

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

“But Kimberly…”

“I said I don’t want to talk about it.” Kimberly’s voice has a sharper tone this time. Larry sighs and nods his head.

“Fair enough. Out of respect for our friendship I will not force anything upon you. But I do suggest you consider it. Take it from experience, ignoring problems does not make them go away.”

“Yeah, I hear ya…” Kim smirks “...but you know what DOES make them go away, temporarily at least?”

“What?”

“Alcohol!” Kim exclaims. “Let me go buy you a few dozen drinks!”

“I will take water or soda, thank you.” He smiles. “But I will gladly be your designated driver if you wish to partake.”

“Sounds great!”

The camera begins to roll. There is no waiting, no delay, no pomp and circumstance. Simply put we open with “The Queen of the Death Match” Kimberly Williams standing front and center wearing torn denim jeans, black boots, and a black Queens of Chaos logo t-shirt. Her long red hair hangs straight and cascades to past the shoulders. The Woman Scorned has her ZION Wrestling Hardcore Championship draped over her right shoulder and her HKW Bloodlust Championship draped over her left shoulder.

“I respect our current Underground Champion Eavan Maloney. I legitimately respect her. One big reason I respect her is that has proven that she can hang in the Underground and she respects what the Underground is all about. She respects what I have done for the Underground. You know what I respect most about Maloney? She isn’t a coward. You won’t see sneak attacks from her. You won’t see her recruiting a bunch of losers to do her fighting for her. And she was more than willing to agree to a rematch for the Underground Championship. She also doesn’t stick her nose into other people’s business. Yet everywhere I go it seems that people who have nothing to do with me, who have no further business with me, want to create business with me. Yeah, ol’ Jimbo Evans and I have a history, but I put an end to him when I drove an explosive into his fucking face. Jimbo, you are a relic from the past that no one wants to see anymore and despite your insistence otherwise, you have no further business with me. Here’s your one and only warning. Go away. Go away now or I will cripple your pathetic ass and force you to go away.”

“Now that I have the serious business out of the way, what am I supposed to talk about next? Hmmm?” Without any warning, the word ‘KABLAM’ flashes briefly upon the screen, like it was straight from an Adam West and Burst Ward cheesy live action comic show. Kimberly then lights up like a Christmas tree. “Oh yeah! Derek Adonis! Mr. KABLAM himself! Do I have to pay royalties for each and every time I say KABLAM, by the way? If I do, don’t worry, I’m good for it. You know what else I’m good at, Derek my boy?” She pauses as if waiting on an answer that she knows damn well isn’t coming. “Yes, I know, I am good at making people bleed. I am good at torturing people in the most inhumane of ways. I am extremely good at being sadistically innovative with a variety of weapons. I could take any of a variety of your merchandise, buddy, and shove it straight up your ass…although you might like that so let’s not go there…” Kimberly shakes her head.

“...instead let’s focus on what ELSE I am good at. I am exceedingly good at making people quit. I am really good at making people give up. Look at Jimbo Evans. I beat his ass and he quit for a few months before he decided to find his balls again and return. I did that with an explosive strapped to my knee. But I can make you quit with a variety of submissions.” She taps her head. “There is a lot more in this head than a sick and twisted knowledge of how to maim with weapons. I have a detailed knowledge of the human body and the many ways I can inflict pain with arm bars, leg locks, and other holds. I can inflict enough pain to make you quit, Derek. And if I don’t make you quit, I can make you wish you had.”

“See, it is time to remind everyone in SCW, and especially anyone who dares set foot in the Underground, just how deadly I can be. Yes, I can swing a chair with the best of them. Yes, I can roll around and barbed wire and smile about it all damn day. But I am also an expert mat technician. I am just as deadly with my submission game as I am in the death match environment. Anyone who thinks that they know Kimberly Williams is going to learn first hand that they are wrong. No one knows the kind of sadism that lies deep down in my heart and soul. No one knows the darkness and evil that I am capable of Derek. But you’re going to learn. You are going to learn what I am capable of and you will serve as an example to anyone else who might stand in my way going forward.”

“After all, this is Rise To Greatness season and I cannot afford to be a one trick pony. I cannot afford to limit myself to just one set of tricks. I need to pull out every stop, to use every weapon I have in my arsenal, both figurative and literal weapons. And with Rise To Greatness coming, I cannot afford to always be the happy to go lucky Kimmy inside that ring. Outside the ring, yeah, I can joke about you and your silly KABLAM merch while you can joke about me and my penguin Wasley. But inside that ring, I am going to be your worst nightmare. When that bell rings, I am going to hurt you.”
