”Different Definition of the Word”

Frost ‘Forever Home’
Manhattan, New York
March 24th, 2025
2:34pm

“Come on…” Selena ordered, slightly out of breath as she pushed against the hold of her opponent, sending the entire frame of said opponent into the turnbuckle. The workout ring, located on the far end of the workout space, which took up a good third of the ‘pool house’ belonging to the Frost property, shook a little from the movements – like any ring in SCW would have (The Snow Queen had spared little expense when she had had the thing built, wanting a ring as identical to her ‘work space’ as possible). Unlike when she did wrestle in a Supreme Championship Wrestling ring, however, the platinum-blonde had chosen workout shorts and a gray t-shirt over her usual wrestling pants and vest/long-sleeve-top.

This wasn’t an SCW match like the countless ones she had had in the last eleven and a half years, but it may have been as emotional…

Before her, the redhead she had sent to the turnbuckle turned around, glaring at the Snow Queen with clear frustration.

“You said this was going to help me.” Deanna Frost remarked, emerald eyes clearly displaying her irritation with the former world champion. “You’ve just been throwing me around the ring!”

“And you said you’ve been training.” Selena countered crossing her arms over her chest.
“I have!!” Deanna insisted in her own defense. “But it’s not like I can do much by myself other than take bumps! Who am I going to grab? You want to me suplex our kids? ‘Hey, Elsa! Wanna help mommy out for a second?’”

“I thought I was ‘mommy’?” Selena tilted her head.
“You’re…” Deanna huffed, taking a second. “Right. You’re ‘Mother’ or ‘Mommy’, I’m-“
“Mom or ‘Mum’ or ‘Mama’.” Selena concluded with a nod of her head.

“My point still stands!” Deanna finalized with her hands out a little past her chest. Like Selena, she wore shorts and a t-shirt, though her shorts were a dark purple and her top was a dark green. Her hair, unlike the Snow Queen’s iconic braid, was set in a simple ponytail, allowing the Blue-Eyed Devil to catch every expression the Red-Maned Lioness made. “I can only practice so much. And it’s not like you’re here all that much to help.”

“I’ve been-“
“Busy.” Deanna sighed. “I know, okay?” Deanna shook her head. “I’ve been watching the shows. I get it.” She breathed. “I just…” she shrugged her shoulders. “I could be helping. I could be there. Solving some of these problems.”

Selena watched her wife – Ex-wife. she had to keep reminding herself – flop down to sit on the mat, her back leaning up against the turnbuckle’s pads. Selena had heard these remarks before. True, she wasn’t around this place all that often, especially with Deanna being brought back here from Kentucky and her place over at Eyrie Tower, but she still had made visits to see the children and train a little with the redhead, the woman wishing to make good on trying to get Deanna ready for some kind of return. What that return would be, however, Selena wasn’t sure yet.

“I know.” The Snow Queen sighed, maintaining her stance and posture. “But you’re not as fast as you were back then, and you’re still making rookie-level mistakes with your grapples and counters.” She had to be honest. “If you’ve been watching, then you know Enigma is back.”

She saw Deanna’s eyes widen and then quickly look away.

“Yeah, I…I saw…” Deanna nodded, suddenly more interested in rather interested in some visible speck on the mat. It was enough motivation for Selena to continue.

“And, lest we forget, you’re still in possession of the United States Championship.” She added with emphasis. “Are you aware about Majors?”

Deanna gave a nod of her head, slowly speaking. “I have no idea what is happening there…” Her head snapped back to Selena. “But that’s another reason I need to go back! Majors, Asher- LUZ! The division needs to get itself back in order with so many people holding a version of the title! I need to go back and-“

“What?” Selena countered briskly. “Lose?” she asked curtly. “At your best, you still couldn’t get past Asher Hayes. Not to mention last time you fought Luz one on one, you lost. And between you and Jordan Majors? Because I’ve fought her.” Selena added. “And right now? She’d wipe the floor with you.”

“Tell me how you really feel.” Deanna shot back briskly.

“How I really feel is that I love you, but that’s besides the point.” Selena threw back with ease and a shrug of her shoulders, only to see Deanna’s eyes widen before her expression altered from depression to frustration.

“Will you stop saying that?!” she almost roared.
“Saying what?” Selena asked.
“That you love me, okay?”
“What’s wrong with me saying it?” Selena asked with a tilt of her head.

“Because it hurts, okay?!” The redhead pushed herself up to her head. “It confuses me! It frustrates me! And did I mention it hurts me?! You…” she gestured a hand towards the toned woman. “You… you say it like it’s so natural. Like it’s the easiest thing in the world… and you’re just reminding me of what we once had. The way things once were. And they can’t…” Selena heard the woman’s voice crack a little. “They can’t be…”

“You want me to stop being who I am?” Selena asked. “To stop saying what I feel and being honest? I won’t.” She glared at the redhead. “I don’t care if it hurts your feelings, Deanna. I wasn’t the one that demanded a divorce, remember?”

“No…” Deanna shook her head. “You weren’t. You were the one that snuck into Jessica’s room and tried to overdose her on NX.”
“To protect you.” Selena countered. “To give you a chance against the Enigma. I told you that the dosage was non-lethal! It would have just put her in a coma for a while.”
“But you couldn’t tell me how long! Or what the long-term damage could be! You were still willing to risk her well-being without a second thought!”

“For you? Let me think…” Selena tilted her head upwards in fake ‘contemplation’ before jerking it back towards Deanna, sapphire eyes meeting emerald ones. “YES!”

“And that’s why I had to stop you!” Deanna shouted back. “Because that isn’t the kind of love I wanted! That isn’t the kind of love we had, Selena!”

The two stood in the ring, eyes fixed on one another until Deanna had to turn away, gazing out towards the waters of the pool. “Selena…our… what we had…” she was trying to find the right words. “You bought me this place – the property and house, I mean…” she kept looking around the area. “When I was pregnant with David, remember?”

“Yes.” Selena nodded her head, still rattled a little by Deanna’s outburst.

“I was… I was so in love with you then.” Deanna shook her head in dismay. “And carrying your child – OUR child.” Her hand slowly flew to her stomach, pressing itself there as if in memory. “And then you had this little house built for our training. And this was to be our ‘Forever Home’, where we would retire too when SCW was said and done. When you were finished. And we’d watch our children grow and eventually leave. We’d grow old… even die here. That… to me… was love.” She turned her head back towards Selena.

“But ruining other people’s lives for me? Endangering them on a ‘what-if’ scenario?” Deanna shook her head. “That isn’t love. Not one thing you did in all of that was love. Sending me to Kentucky? Keeping me confined there? Keeping me locked away in your castle?”

“Until you were better! Until it was safe!” Selena tried, but she found that she couldn’t quite get the strength in her convictions that she once had. “Or do we skip over the whole ‘arson’ thing?”

She saw Deanna’s jaw clench at that, the redhead looking away from Selena, which seemed to bring back the resolve the redhead’s earlier analysis had removed.

“Like it or not, Deanna, I did what I had to do.” Selena stated firmly. “And like it or not, you are a target simply because you are connected to me. And in your state, I could not risk someone like Blake Mason getting their hands on you. Not when you couldn’t, one-hundred-percent, defend and take care of yourself.”

“You’re missing the point!” Deanna shook her head. “You didn’t lock our kids away! You didn’t ship them to another state and isolate them! Even after what he did to Elsianna! Did you?” she eyed Selena again. “After he called her, Selena, did you take Elsianna away for months and months?”

“No… just to Germany, remember?” Selena’s eyes narrowed. “At your insistence, I might add.”
“I did that to be closer to my children.” Deanna countered. “But the point is that you just left our kids with Gerda. Why could you trust them and not me? Why couldn’t you just-“

“Because I was wrong, okay?!”

Deanna stopped immediately as soon as she heard those words, seeing Selena turn away to grasp at the ropes in the ring. “I thought there was a line nobody in SCW would cross. I thought there was no way anybody would go after children. I thought ‘there’s the line – nobody is going to cross it’. But I was wrong.”

There was a brief silence as Selena’s words settled on the air. “I won’t apologize for what I did to you. And I won’t apologize for what I did to Mason for that.”

“I wasn’t going to ask you to apologize for Mason.” She heard Deanna replied, turning her head back to the redhead, somewhat surprised. “For as I am concerned.” Deanna added, her eyes growing a little dark. “He got what he deserved when he crossed that line.”

“Deanna?” Selena asked.

With a sudden shake of her head, Deanna gazed back at Selena, the dark expression gone. “My point is, Selena, that what you believe is ‘love’ and ‘protection’… isn’t. Locking me up? Going after Kristen like that over what? An insult? A slight? That’s not love, Selena. It’s obsession. And it hurts every time you say that to me. Every time you just casually throw those words in the air, because I know…” she sighed. “I know that isn’t the love I want from you.” She suddenly reached up to wipe at the unshed tears in her eyes. “I don’t even think we can ever have that kind of ‘love’ again.”

Selena said nothing at first, the platinum-blonde merely staring back at her… ex-wife, she didn’t need to catch herself this time.

“I’m sorry.” She whispered, though her eyes did eventually find Deanna. “I’m sorry I can’t offer you what you want – maybe because I don’t know how. But…” she sighed a little. “But it’s for the best.” Her gaze fully found Deanna’s, the Snow Queen giving a shrug of her shoulders. “I am the villain after all.”

“Don’t start with that again, please.” Deanna tried.

“Who else could hurt someone with an ‘I love you’?” Selena laughed a little bitterly. “You said it yourself. It hurts you when I say that I love you. That’s a villain thing.” She pointed at Deanna in a ‘gotcha’ expression. “Well… don’t worry about it, Deanna.” She stated. “Soon, you’ll be back in the ring and doing your thing, back in top form – maybe even world champion. And I’ll be gone.”

“Gone?” Deanna asked, taking a step towards the older woman, seeing her head snap back and eyes widen a little before the Snow Queen smirked.

“Gone. Out of your hair? Out of the way? Doing my own thing? Back in my castle? Visiting only to see the children? That sort of thing.” She answered quickly. “You’ll never have to hear me say those words to you again.”

“That isn’t…” Deanna sighed, stopping herself, settling on letting the former world champion close the matter for now. The conclusion drawn, and Selena’s statement from it, wasn’t what Deanna had meant at all. “How much longer is all of this going to take?”

Without thinking, Selena shrugged her shoulders. “I’d wager another few months.”
“Months?!”

Selena’s head snapped back to the redhead, against the look of mild shock on her face before she gave it some thought. “I…Idealistically, yes.” She spoke slowly, realizing what her wife had really been referring to. “Conditioning and training isn’t an instantaneous thing, Deanna. You want to be ready for Enigma, Scott, Asher, Luz? Whoever else? Time is needed.”

“But months?”

“You want to do it faster?” Selena shrugged. “Do the work. Make the progress. Take the risks you say I shouldn’t take. But those risks carry consequences that are yours to deal with. Don’t blame me if you have to tack on another few months for being stupid.”

Deanna opened her mouth to say something but quickly closed it, earning a smug smirk from Selena.

“Now…” she asked before cracking her neck with a few short jerks and stretching her arms out with a few swings before standing back in the middle of the ring. “Are you done for the day or should we continue?”

The Royal Letter

Supreme Championship Wrestling,

I suppose it has been awhile since I have sat down and conducted one of these Royal Letters. Truthfully, between that and the brief interviews with Jaina Lancaster, I just have found myself with very little that I need to speak of. SCW is full of people that want to talk on and on. Your precious world champion, for example. Seems all he wants to do these days is sermonize. Tell you all the things you want to hear. Talk about being a ‘dominant champion’ and ‘standard bearer’… all while crying and whining for me to ‘cash in’ on him.

As if he has ANY control of the situation.

Kristen Scott, loving the sound of her own voice. “LOOK AT ME! I’M OWED SOMETHING! REWARD ME!” yet still doing what Kristen Scott does best. Overselling and underdelivering. The list goes on and on about people running their mouths here in SCW and then having to either eat their words or be exposed in the ring the moment I step into it. All while CHBK declares it ‘his’ doing. “I’m making people accountable for their actions!”.

If that were true, I wouldn’t have had to put my contract on the line to get Kristen Scott to show her face. The match would have been made simply because she ran her mouth! Instead, I have to do the work. I have to make the demands. I have to lay the groundwork while Mister Can’t-Handle-Business-Kid plays thumb war in his office with Lucas Knight. But I digress…

Once more, Scott is in the rearview mirror. Once more, as I’ve done every other time, I’ve proven just how hollow her words are. How different our levels are. Now, she can go back to choking on her excuses and failures. The failure to remove Enigma – her greatest ‘accomplishment’ since coming back, I’ll add – and her failure to defeat a Frost. What does that make this? Five to zero or something? I’ve honestly lost track with how many times my family have beaten certain superstars. The Ravyn Taylors, the Kristen Scotts, the Kandis – would the plural for that be Kandi or Kandises? I don’t even want to imagine more than one of her in SCW again, though not shocking the first promo she cuts and she needs my name to elevate her position. Join Josh Hudson and Xander Valentine on that list, hunny. Least you’re staying where you belong in the tag division. Last thing I really want is to waste time embarrassing you and watching you get suspended for the THIRD time because you can’t beat me – though that would be amusing to watch.

But speaking of people that I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve beaten them… Gavin Taylor! The next person put in my way. You’ll actually have to forgive me, Gavin, because, honestly, I was surprised to see your name next to mine. Not because of some disrespectful notion like you being a midcarder that hasn’t achieved much of anything in… well, basically any time here in SCW. No, not because of something like that, but genuinely because… I honestly thought you had left SCW months ago!

I did! I mean, I work harder than anyone here to do what needs to be done. So I’m here constantly, competing in the biggest matches, the biggest feuds – I mean, I’m trying to actually give SCW what it has promised with this whole ‘Wild, Wild West’ almost a year ago – and I haven’t really seen much of you. And after so many months of not seeing you and you doing… well… let’s face it, little to no impact, I actually thought you had quietly retired and run off again. Like Hudson did with tears in his eyes after losing the world title – only to come back with more tears in his eyes and crying “I BEAT SELENA FROST! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!!” over and over again. Like Kandis coming back last pay-per-view and then Breakdown to cry out “SCREW SELENA FROST”. I honestly thought you had chosen the more – respectable, shall we say? - respectable choice and just quietly left SCW. But it turns out, after I looked back and did some digging… you’ve been here the whole time.

Losing every match you participate in…

Trios, Polly and the TV title shot (how many of those have you had and failed to win?), Dusseldorf, Retribution, I mean, you’ve lost more matches than Konrad Raab, and THAT is saying something. Difference is Konrad can make some noise once in awhile. Like that old expression? “A broken clock is right at least twice a day?” But you… you just can’t be right ever, can you?

And that… that’s rather disappointing for me. Because this is just going to be another loss for you, Gavin. I know! I know! This is another way for you to hype yourself up. Oh yes! Take the Adam Brock and Chris Lawler approach! “I’m gonna beat Selena and show the world what I can do! That Gavin Taylor is truly the All-American., All-Star Superstar! That his name deserves to be mentioned with titles!” as if we haven’t heard that over and over again with my opponents.

Let’s say it does, Gavin. Let’s say you can have that. What would you do with it? What would you do with such an opportunity? Everyone wants to hear what I’m going to do with my opportunity. Xander Valentine wants to know what I am going to do with my contract and opportunity. But let’s turn that little light onto you, Mr. All-Star? Let’s say you get this win. Let’s say a fluke happens and you manage to get a win! Maybe I get DQed? Maybe someone sticks their nose in my business? Maybe a meteorite comes crashing down and takes me down, giving you the win. Stranger things have happened in SCW, right?

What the hell would you even do with such a win?

Again, Gavin, it’s not like your ‘lack of impact’ has been the fault of your booking. You COULD have been Television champion. You COULD have been the Trios winner this year. But, instead, you’ve been content being involved in the Lyman’s version of ‘The Parent Trap’ to pass the time and basically waddling in and out of other people’s business during whatever free time you have. So… would you even know what to do with an opportunity like a title shot if you had it?

Case in point, I remember one particular match with you. It was during that United States Championship tournament back in 2020 – you were in, I believe, the semi-finals with me. You came out parading some other title as if you already were a champion, remember? The retired SCW Intercontinental championship? All so you could just fool yourself for a time – because nobody bought it. Nobody credited you with it. It was all for you. All so you pretend. Pretend you were a champion.

That’s… That’s you, Gavin. A pretender. A faker.  A guy that puts on a fake title and wouldn’t know what to do with a real one if he even got one. I mean, in the ring, you can go, I remember the match and I remember beating you, so my memory of all the times I’ve beaten you isn’t completely gone. But there’s a reason why I went the way I did – winning that tournament and the United States Championship and then going onto having the greatest world title reign in SCW history and countless other title reigns with that – why I became more and more from that matchup and you… well you’re throwing fits in an airport. Whining and crying about where you are and – just like Josh Hudson – “I SHOULD BE WORLD CHAMPION! IT SHOULD BE ME!”

It's more sad than it is embarrassing, Gavin. Because I am not looking to pat you on the back like the old days and say ‘You’ve got this! Give it time!’. I look at you and I see a man that has wasted his time and his career in a place that he… despite all his abilities… he just can’t keep up in. I see a guy that, instead of screaming in an airport, should be carrying bags there. Because at least then he’d be useful to the SCW staff. I see a guy who’s ‘All-Star’? Faded out years ago.

This Breakdown? I’m not stressing it, Gavin. This is going to be a nice little workout for me. This is going to be a match where I get to display what I am capable of in the ring, like I always do. I get to show you again the continuing, growing difference in our levels. The “Should have been world champion by now” vs the multiple-time-greatest-world-champion-in-SCW-History! I get to cut loose and just have some fun for the first time in a long time, Gavin, so I need to thank you for that.

Because this is a rare opportunity. I’ve had to fight hungry, young superstars looking to make a name for themselves through me. I’ve had to fight old veterans that want me to resurrect their careers through me. I’ve had to fight people going after my family. People badmouthing my family and my name – I can’t remember the last time I had a match where I just… could enjoy it. Well, I mean I enjoy beating my opponents and exposing them for the liars and frauds that they are and I enjoy showing the vast difference in our levels to them and for the world to see, but I haven’t had an ‘easy, relaxing night’ in a LONG time!

Cause that’s what tonight is for me, Gavin. It’s a gift! It’s easy, it’s relaxing. It’s me getting to just beat the hell out of you and not have to worry about a damn thing! Cause you’re not going to do something stupid like Scott and run your mouth on me and my family – cause you saw what happened to the last two people that did that. And you’ve already got enough of a downer of a career, you don’t need me ending it prematurely, do you? And you’re not going to try and take me out of SCW – you’ll just fail. I mean, if Xander, Hudson, Kandis, Scott, and half the roster couldn’t do it…

No, Gavin, you’re not going to do any of that. You’re going to roll into Breakdown, hoping for a miracle. Praying for a shooting star. Begging for some lucky-break and me? I’m going to come into Breakdown ready to rely on the facts.

The fact that I am a former world champion and I am “The Face of SCW” while you… well forgettable at worst… failure at best.

The fact that I have beaten you over and over again while you… you haven’t beaten me ever.

The fact that I am the real ‘Star’ of this place. And you? It’s a catchy nickname, Gav… but that’s all it is.

But… but! At least you get the paycheck, alright? Least you can have that when this is all said and done. After I beat you down and lay you out, you can take some comfort knowing that there’s a paycheck waiting for you at the end of it from SCW. It won’t be nearly as much as what they are paying me for beating you down, but it should be something.

That… and a crushing loss… should be more than enough for SCW’s All-Star. More than enough for what he deserves. Whether he wants to believe it… or not.

Sincerely,
Selena Michelle Frost
