*Goddard is neither face nor is he heel, I like to think of him his own entity where he treats everyone equally in the sense that he will fight anyone. He stands for his own beliefs, he is a law unto himself and is incredibly loyal to those he brings into his inner circle which is incredibly rare for him to do.

Strengths:
:: Living the way he has over the years has given him a mental strength unlike anyone else. When you think he is down and out he somehow surprises you and keeps going.

:: A veteran of the sport, he knows every trick in the book. Some say he wrote the book or many of its chapters.

:: At 50 years of age he is deceptively agile.

Weaknesses:
:: When his hubris is challenged and he reacts in chaotic ways which cost him gravely during matches.

:: Much like one of his strengths being his mental strength, his body is ageing and because of his pride he would rather die than concede defeat.

Entrance:

The arena is plunged into total darkness causing the crowd to buzz, the questions are answered when the tron above the stage illuminates while the sound of wind blowing over the P.A System. The picture on the screen is that of the desert sand, but it’s not long before we hear the rattling sound of a curled-up snake... The footage starts to pan upwards to reveal more of the desert, but the focus is on the snake slithering towards the screen, the Rattlesnake moves closer and closer and then wastes no time at all before striking at the screen...

Then as if on cue Johnny Cash’s “God’s Gonna Cut you Down” hits over the P. A System, while the music begins to build upwards with the guitar strumming away a smoke like fog begins to haze its way onto the stage as the lights shift in colour to a fiery amber… With it a shadowy figure begins to casually walk out among the Smokey haze to reveal Goddard himself dressed in his leather trench coat, Stetson hat and bandanna over his face...

Dishevelled voice: “Ladies and Gentlemen, Ya’ll heard the whispers, ya’ll listened to the tales but allow us to inform ya that “The Legend is Very Real...” Hailing from the wastelands of Texas, better known as Tombstone… he weighs in tonight at one-hundred and ninety-seven pounds...  He is “THE HELLBILLY” … JOHN GODDARD!!”

The crowd’s reaction is incredibly mixed as he stands on the stage looking out from under his hat, he then removes the bandanna and cracks a smile before nodding and walking down to the ring with a confidence of one like himself. Fans reach out to touch him, but he pays them no mind if the manage to do just that.  After rolling into the ring he rises to one knee and looks out to the crowd again before pulling himself up using the ropes before walking over to a corner and removing his jacket before standing on the second corner and nodding one more time.

Biography:

John Goddard is a 30-year veteran, while his history and personal life is murky at best due to becoming a man who lived off the grid. Over the years John spent a lot of time on the road competing across the United States in small dives and bingo halls. Throughout this he built up the reputation as being a brutal fighter, one that had very little care for those who stood across from him in the ring. Then one day, he disappeared.

Some say he died, others say he just grew bored and there are those who claim he didn’t exist at all and was all just a figment of the world’s imagination.

None of which were true and now in 2018/2019 the Hellbilly has risen once again. By doing so he claims to have heard the screams from the SCW, they called to him what did they want, why now?
