I wanted to give an update. I was on pace to finish the show for this morning. Last night, however, I realized I was making some concessions I really shouldn't on the biggest show of the year and in particularly, one match I was finishing up really wasn't that good.

I took three full weeks off from SCW - a much needed break - after deadline, and started to get back into things. Much of the writing has gone well, but I've been balancing that with my return to work the last two weeks, along with any prep. I'm going away with my wife this weekend - we both do a terrible job at actually taking time off - and so I'm not around as I normally would be to finish things up. I tried to rush things to get them done, but frankly, with the great writing all of you did for Rise to Greatness, I want to return that effort in kind. I even was planning to not include match hype videos and other things I do to make RTG special to try and get it up on time.

Last night, I finally made the decision that if I'm not going to do it right, it's not worth it, especially for what is our "season finale." I can take a few extra days, post a card (which is up) and do those things properly. I realize this will be frustrating as I know some of you are really raring to go for the new season, but I always told myself I wouldn't compromise what I do feel is SCW's main strength - the quality of writing and the quality of the shows. So, Rise to Greatness and its pre-show WILL be up in the next week. Most of the matches are written or mostly written. Matches are judged. I just need to focus on segments, hype-videos, and other matters like that. I just ran out of time before I spend the weekend with my wife. I haven't even had a chance to do the events calendar as I've focused on the shows. I have to do some prep for the next week when I get back, but I should then have my time when not teaching to finish the shows and to the level you all expect.

Sorry for the added additional delay, but I hope you understand why. October 1 is our first show back. I'll have the events calendar completed next week too. And I hope the added time allows you to get even more ideas going. There are a few other things being worked on behind the scenes for SCW and hopefully it will all come together as we enter our 24th year.]]>

As we have just had the Rise to Greatness deadline pass, this is when we go into our yearly hiatus. It's an opportunity for all of you to recharge, see families, maybe find out what that giant yellow orb is in the sky....okay, I'm kidding a bit. But it is a time for you to step away and recharge (and for me to do the same).

A couple of things to note - while SCW will be on hiatus until it starts our 24th(!) season in September, there will be some things going on.

First, if you noticed the news report on the website, we are bringing back the yearly awards, but I'm putting them to be part of the Rise to Greatness weekend as this is our normal "end of season" period. I will have cateogories, nominations, and what not up in the next day or so with about a week to accept votes. This also may give you a chance to review some of the shows from the last year and a half and hopefully look back on some of it fondly.

Second, more to avoid any issues, there will be no updates on Rise to Greatness for at least two weeks. The earliest I will announce a timeline for posting is August 22. This is intentional - both so I can take a few days completely away from the fed, but also so people aren't asking about when the show is going up. In the meantime, I will be however posting a schedule for the rest of the year and likely doing some other updates.

That said, tentatively, the plan is to return during the first week of September and to this end, Breakdown will be moving to Wednesday nights. This is done for my own schedule. Thursdays have been a long day for me for many years, and it will likely continue this fall and into the winter. For those who are in SCW already, this is also an opportunity to reconsider your roster of characters, if you want to add or remove a character, or if you're looking to develop goals for the next year. As we have just had the Rise to Greatness deadline pass, this is when we go into our yearly hiatus. It's an opportunity for all of you to recharge, see families, maybe find out what that giant yellow orb is in the sky....okay, I'm kidding a bit. But it is a time for you to step away and recharge (and for me to do the same).

A couple of things to note - while SCW will be on hiatus until it starts our 24th(!) season in September, there will be some things going on.

First, if you noticed the news report on the website, we are bringing back the yearly awards, but I'm putting them to be part of the Rise to Greatness weekend as this is our normal "end of season" period. I will have cateogories, nominations, and what not up in the next day or so with about a week to accept votes. This also may give you a chance to review some of the shows from the last year and a half and hopefully look back on some of it fondly.

Second, more to avoid any issues, there will be no updates on Rise to Greatness for at least two weeks. The earliest I will announce a timeline for posting is August 22. This is intentional - both so I can take a few days completely away from the fed, but also so people aren't asking about when the show is going up. In the meantime, I will be however posting a schedule for the rest of the year and likely doing some other updates.

That said, tentatively, the plan is to return during the first week of September and to this end, Breakdown will be moving to Wednesday nights. This is done for my own schedule. Thursdays have been a long day for me for many years, and it will likely continue this fall and into the winter. Sorry for disappearing for a few days - I was away at a conference for a few days and had originally figured I'd have more time (A lot of people travel for a day and leave, so outside of the conference events, networking is usually limited; that turned out not to be the case as there were a few overlapping conferences with people I know).

The good news is that once I finish an event today and then another next Wednesday, my commitments for this past year are done. I am then essentially overseeing a course for the next couple of weeks and can focus on writing SCW and also hopefully relaxing a bit.

So I apologize again for the last two months where things have been even more all over the place schedule wise than usual, but we should get settled down to have a hell of a run to Rise to Greatness, before taking our summer break, and then diving into a new season.]]>

Just wanted to put this here so all can see it, not only those on the Discord.

As some may know, I've been working on end of term for my job and that means a lot of marking and simply put, it's been my life the last few days, along with various meetings which has derailed any work flow. I finally just finished submitting the last set of term grades. It's just exams, and those, fortunately, go much quicker.

That said, this marking hole I've been in has derailed my ability to finish Breakdown. The good news is that I have been working on Breakdown when I can.

My plan is as follows - I hope I can get the show up tomorrow. I need to finish one match and then segments. From there, I'll post the full PPV card. We'll do some shuffling of the schedule, but I'll handle that this weekend. There will be at least a week to roleplay. And then, thank God, my schedule does lighten up for the most part. I have a conference I need to work around in May, but other than that, my marking load drops dramatically and I should get into a proper schedule. I'm excited about the stories on the show and what will be coming up next (including what potential deviations may happen depending on match results) and really making Rise to Greatness season that good.
