I've been giving it some thought and frankly, I need to do what is best both for myself and for SCW.
I've been slowly just drowning all year as I normally have time off in December and again in February. Opportunities to present work abroad in December and then needing to focus on my actual job, which includes commenting on world events, during my off-week in February made it so I haven't had a true day off except maybe Christmas since at least July. Adding to matters is that I am some work I really should get done sooner rather than later, and basically, I have just created a log jam of actual work.
While I have been able to not sacrifice quality for shows, something I'm proud of - most shows have resembled what I had in mind with a few variations - I can't keep having shows late while I try to manage both my job and the hobby. It only serves to spread the burn out I've been dealing with to others as roster members can't get into any groove or normalcy.
Therefore, I'm going to make the easy decision and one that should allow me to breathe, while allow me to do what I've wanted to do since JAnuary and that's get back to a proper routine for SCW.
So - Retribution will now be moved one week to March 16. The deadline will March 15. I will have a full card in the next 24 hours. Breakdown for March 1 will be up, I hope, Wednesday or at the latest Thursday. The March 20 Breakdown will just be removed from the calendar and the rest of the schedule will remain. Adding to matters why this should also work out is that my teaching load drops a bit (Still same load, but I don't have to prep as much for two classes and classes end in early April). This will also allow me frankly to take part of Friday to enjoy the remaster of Suikoden and maybe take a much needed break from everything.
Finally, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their patience. The schedule and keeping to it in the last few months has been among my biggest failings. As much as I hope that fully written shows and I hope interesting shows with thoughtful angles for you to work with is enough, I haven't done enough to put myself in a position to successfully get shows up on time. This is the first step to me trying to actually do that. I've taken some other steps already this year to try to prevent these log jams from occurring, and I'll need to still deal with the current one, but I hope that this can be the reset I need to do my job better as fed owner and for me to keep providing you, the roster, the experience you both expect and deserve.
