What to expect the next few days
Posted by: supremecw - 08-22-2025, 12:09 PM - Forum: OOC Board - No Replies

I wanted to give an update on things. A few things to note:

1) The Breakdown card for August 28 Breakdown will go up TONIGHT. There are no spoilers (outside of the matches already announced on Breakdown. There is one spoiler I would have to make regardless of RTG going up or not to allow roleplaying - I'll flag it and hint at something on the show. This is done more to honour the booking I've already done in light of someone needing to step away from the fed for personal reasons.). I'm doing this more to allow people to start their planning. Much of the card will be made up from people who have specifically reached out to me about being booked.

2) The Rise to Greatness pre-show should be up tonight. I have a bit more to do on it, but it should be done. Then the plan is to post RTG XXII Saturday.

3) A match writers thread will go up shortly after for Breakdown. We will be doing everything to get the show up on time. Please note that when you sign up - I'd like to get into a good groove early and generally get shows up on time or within 24 hours of when they should be up. This includes PPVs too going forward.

4) I will confirm - by a vote of 9-6, we are now going to be operating with a universal 2 RP per character, 3500 word roleplay limit for ALL matches, regardless of stipulation or whether it's Breakdown or PPV. I realize this may be a change for some. I do intend to revisit this decision after two ppv cycles to see if we wish to readjust.

5) Finally, if you know of anyone who has been thinking about joining SCW, please feel free to get them in touch with me. We have an amazing core and we've added more great handlers this past year, but I always like to invite more into our community here as it only means new matchups, fresh ideas, and we all get more out of the game.

Birth Name: Melinda Braddock
Birthdate: October 10th, 2000
Birthplace: London, England
Current Residence: Miami, Florida
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 110 lbs
Wrestling Style: All Rounder but tends to lean more heavily on striking and submissions

Alignment: Heel
Picbase: Anya Taylor-Joy

Theme: “Nothing Feels Right” by Ozzy Osbourne

Entrance:

The arena lights dim as the eerie, slow-building intro of “Nothing Feels Right” by Ozzy Osbourne pulses through the speakers, bathing the stage in deep crimson and flickering gold. A hush of anticipation spreads over the crowd. As the beat kicks in, Melinda Braddock strides through the curtain with deliberate confidence, chin high and lips curled into a self-satisfied smirk that dares anyone to challenge her. Her long, blonde hair is styled to perfection, catching the shimmer of the overhead lights. Her eyes scan the crowd with amused detachment. To her right, Clyde Sutter follows silently, his long black hair draped across his shoulders, his stone cold stoic expression never breaking. He doesn’t react to the crowd, his eyes stay fixed on the ring, arms folded, exuding a cold, controlled menace. On her left, Fiona Logan is the polar opposite, snapping her fingers at the crowd, hurling insults with a wicked grin, and pausing to mock anyone and everyone. She’s dressed in similarly flashy gear, but her personality is a firestorm compared to Melinda’s icy superiority.

The trio walks in perfect sync, a well-oiled machine of arrogance, dominance, and menace. When they reach the ring, Melinda ascends the steel steps with the air of a queen entering her throne room. She wipes her boots slowly and theatrically on the apron before stepping through the ropes. Once inside, she throws her arms wide in the center of the ring, basking in the boos, her smile growing even more smug and arrogant by the second as golden spotlights crisscross above her. Clyde takes his post outside the ropes while Fiona perches on the middle rope and continues to rile up the crowd.

Strengths:
--Wrestling knowledge, both inside and outside the ring. She is the daughter of a multi-time hall of famer and multi-time world champion Glory Braddock. She was trained by Glory as well as another wrestling machine, Randall Williams. She knows how to go in the ring and she knows a good bit about how things work outside the ring due to growing up around the business.
--Incredible heart and endurance. She has a never say die attitude.
Weaknesses:
--She is small, strength is not her forte.
--She is stubborn and has quite the attitude and mouth on her. Sometimes this attitude will get her into trouble.

Impact Finisher: Trending

Signature: Blaze of Glory
Description: 450 Splash

Signature Move 1: Graceful Beauty

Striking: Spinning heel kick, various versions of the roundhouse kick including the reverse roundhouse kick, Superkick, Running Knee Strike, spinning back fist, enziguri, shining wizard

Other: Belly to belly suplex, German Suplex, Dragon Suplex...just about any suplex you can think of, she knows it...Tilt a Whirl into a DDT, Springboard Hurricinrana, Springboard into a DDT, Springboard Splash

Personality: Since reuniting with her boyfriend Clyde Sutter, she has taken on some of his mannerisms; she became cold and, like Clyde, has a strong belief in Fate, though not to the same obsessive extreme he does. She is very tuned in to the modern era, especially that of internet and social media. She knows what is “trending” what is “hip” what is “in” and most importantly what is “not in”.

Biography:

Melinda Braddock was born in London, England to a sixteen year old Glory Braddock and eighteen year old Thomas Gage. Thomas panicked over the thought of having to raise a child and fled immediately upon learning of Glory’s pregnancy. This left Glory to raise Melinda herself. For the first several years of her life, Melinda had her grandfather, Glory’s father Glenn Braddock, to look up to as a father figure. Glory would later marry twice, her first marriage was to Randall Williams and Melinda had Randall as a father figure during their brief marriage. Glory’s second and current marriage was to Kurt Logan and Melinda to this day views him as a father figure. When Melinda turned nineteen Thomas Gage, her biological father, returned into her life.

Glory Braddock did not wish for her daughter to follow in her footsteps, but Melinda was determined to train to become a wrestler. She snuck out late and secretly trained with her mother’s long time childhood friend Matthew Taylor. During that time Melinda met Clyde Sutter, who was currently training at Glory Braddock’s training school in Southampton, England. The two engaged in a short but very lustful relationship. The relationship quickly went downhill and dissolved shortly after it was revealed that Sutter had a very short fuse and almost no control over his anger. This rage got Sutter kicked out of Glory’s wrestling school and Melinda herself broke up with him as a result. Eventually Melinda managed to convince Glory to let her train to be a wrestler.

Melinda rebounded from her relationship with Sutter and began dating Archie Van Stanton, the son of Braddock family arch rival Henry Van Stanton. It was a typical Romeo and Juliet scenario with both families being opposed to the relationship. Eventually things calmed down and the Braddocks and Van Stantons made peace. Melinda was engaged to be married to Archie but that engagement was brought to a sudden and violent end due to the brutal gunning down of Archie Van Stanton by home invaders.

As an in-ring performer, Melinda made her debut on the European independent circuits. Much like her grandfather, Melinda went on an undefeated streak on the indie circuits before she made her debut in a major company. Melinda would even reconnect with Clyde Sutter, who had managed to find a way to control and focus his anger. They began dating again.

Alignment: Heel
Picbase: Jacy Jayne

Theme: Flying High Again by Ozzy Osbourne

Entrance Description:

The arena goes dark for a moment before “Flying High Again” by Ozzy Osbourne explodes through the speakers. A bold spotlight cuts through the haze, and from behind the curtain struts Fiona Logan, brimming with swagger and untouchable confidence. Dressed in a cropped leather jacket over shimmering ring gear with metallic red and silver accents, she smirks and spins on her heel with flair, arms extended as if daring the crowd not to adore her. She pauses at the top of the ramp, sticking her tongue out and tapping the side of her head with a cocky grin, mocking anyone in the front row booing her. Flanking her on either side are her entourage: to her right, Melinda Braddock, her tag team partner and self-proclaimed “Third Generation Goddess,” walks with poised elegance, her expression smug and amused as if basking in reflected glory. Melinda occasionally flicks her hair and gives sarcastic waves to the crowd, enjoying their outrage. Clyde Sutter, stoic as ever, his black hair framing his cold, expressionless face is there, wrapping his strong yet comforting arms around Melinda. He doesn’t speak, doesn’t flinch, just follows with a quiet menace that makes the trio feel even more dangerous.

Fiona leads the charge down the ramp, skipping sideways at times or stopping to lean over the barricade and trash talk the fans. Near the ring, she hops up onto the apron, wiping her boots with exaggerated showmanship, then perches on the middle rope and leans back dramatically, flashing a mischievous smile. Melinda climbs the steps beside her, slowly and gracefully, while Clyde circles to stand ringside. Once in the ring, Fiona throws her arms wide and spins with theatrical arrogance, flipping her hair before dropping to one knee in the center of the ring, grinning as the chorus hits again. Melinda claps mockingly behind her, and Clyde simply watches from outside the ropes, unmoved but ever present. As the lights return to normal and the music fades, Fiona rises to her feet and pounds her chest with both fists.

Strengths
- Very strong and very powerful.
- She has a ton of endurance. She can wrestle for a very long time without stopping and she can take a lot of abuse without breaking.

Weaknesses
- Fiona often gets too emotionally invested in things, whether it be just a match she is in or a long term feud she is involved with. This emotion can lead her to making poor decisions.
- Due to relying so heavily upon emotions, she is not that strategic of a wrestler. Strategy is NOT her strong suit.

Finisher 1: Boston Lager
Description: Inverted Piledriver/Tombstone. She prefers the Owen Hart variety to the Undertaker variety so if she is thinking she will do that one.

Finisher 2: The Fiona Flatliner
Description: Cobra Clutch

Signature 1: Logan’s Run
Description: Borrowed from Kurt Logan, her adoptive father. It is a running single leg high knee.

Signature 2: Oktoberfest!
Description: German suplexes. Lots of them. Like Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit she hangs on to the waist and delivers them one after another without letting go. She always at least delivers 3 in a row. Twice in the indies she has been known to hit 10 in a row without releasing. That is her current record. If she gets beyond five Germans in a row, this could easily turn into a finish.

Signature 3: Spear Fishing
Description: It’s just a spear!

Common Moves
Spine buster
Suplex of any and all variety
Running power slam
Gorilla press slam
Running big boot

Stinger Splash

Biography:

The story of Fiona Logan began as a sad story of a young child unwanted by her parents. Her biological parents were both drug abusers and gave their child up after birth. Fiona was eventually placed into the foster care of Todd Osbourne. Todd Osbourne was not much better. He never really cared about being parent and definitely didn’t care about Fiona’s well being. He merely saw her as a meal ticket. He used her to get money from the government. Then as she grew into a beautiful young lady, he forced her to go into the modeling industry so he could continue to make money off of her success as a model. Fiona began her career as a model by working under Kayla Jones and her modeling agency. When Kayla realized the situation Fiona was in, a situation similar to her own when she was that age, Kayla contacted her cousin, Glory Braddock, and had her take Fiona under wing; because Fiona didn’t really want to spend the rest of her life as a model. Fiona wanted to wrestle and as it turns out, Glory was her hero.

Glory Braddock was reluctant at first to take in Fiona but she was convinced. Glory later would begin training her as a wrestler. Fiona was extremely grateful to the kindness shown by Glory and Glory’s husband Kurt Logan. In fact, Fiona began to see Glory and Kurt no longer just as her trainers but as parental figures, parental figures that she never truly had in her life. In honor of them, Fiona changed her last name from Osbourne to Logan.

Fiona has a mouth on her and will go off on anyone on a moment’s notice. She also doesn’t buy into the whole “Fate” thing that Sutter and Melinda do, but she won’t complain about their obsession with Fate as long as things are going their way.

1x MWE World Tag Team Champion

Tag Team Entrance:

Entrance:

The arena lights drop into an ominous crimson haze as the haunting intro of “Nothing Feels Right” by Ozzy Osbourne crawls through the sound system, thick with unease and anticipation. The crowd instantly responds with a wave of boos, and just as the first distorted riff growls to life, a spotlight ignites at the top of the ramp, illuminating The Vision: Melinda Braddock and Fiona Logan. Standing side by side, they strike an intimidating contrast. Melinda is a vision of smug superiority, her expression cool and contemptuous as she slowly steps forward, chin high and lips curled in a slight, self-satisfied smile. Draped in a gleaming black-and-gold jacket with high-fashion detailing, she moves like she’s walking a runway, not a wrestling ramp; each step deliberate, arrogant, like the crowd should be grateful to witness her existence. Beside her, Fiona Logan bursts into movement like a firecracker, all swagger and attitude. She twirls once with flair, throws her arms wide, and mouths off at the nearest fans with wild eyes and a devilish grin. Her ring gear shimmers under the strobe lights as she throws fake kisses to the crowd one second and flips them off the next. She leans over the barricade at one point, taunting a fan’s sign, pointing and laughing, then skips back toward her partner with a cocky shoulder bump. Trailing just a few steps behind them is Clyde Sutter, a looming figure in black with long, dark hair cascading over his shoulders. His expression is emotionless, unreadable, a stark contrast to the explosive energy in front of him. His eyes scan the ring like a hawk, and while he never says a word, his presence alone demands silence. He’s the dark anchor to the chaos and vanity that is The Vision.

As the trio reaches the ring, Melinda glides up the steel steps slowly, wiping her boots with theatrical disdain before stepping through the ropes like she’s entering a palace. She pauses in the center of the ring, holding her arms out as if waiting for imaginary flowers to be thrown at her feet. Fiona leaps onto the apron, then climbs through the ropes with an over-the-top spin, landing on one knee and pointing to herself with a defiant smirk as the music’s chorus hits. She yells at the crowd, mocking them ruthlessly, and then she pounds her chest before popping back up to her feet. Clyde takes his place outside, arms folded, unmoved. As the music fades and the lights return to normal, Melinda raises one perfectly manicured hand while Fiona perches on the second rope, taunting the audience one last time.

Double Team Moves

Vision’s Run
Description: Melinda delivers a chop block while Fiona simultaneously connects with Logan’s Run, the running knee strike. Similar to Toxic Attraction’s double team high-lo move.

Stairway to Heaven
Description: Fiona delivers her series of German suplexes that she calls Oktoberfest, only before snapping off each German suplex Melinda delivers a superkick to the opponent adding extra punishment. And this will be done for EACH German suplex. So if Fiona delivers five German suplexes, that opponent will also get a total of five superkicks.

Darkness Falls
Description: Spiked Tombstone Piledriver.

The Visionary
Description: One of the members of the Vision delivers a spear (usually Fiona as it is one of her signature moves) while the other delivers a neck breaker variation simultaneously.

Fateful Vision
Description: Fiona drops the opponent with a spine buster and Melinda follows it up with a springboard splash.

Stick A Fork In ‘Em!
Description: This one is a triple team involving Sutter! Sutter delivers a power bomb while Fiona delivers a blockbuster/flipover neck breaker off the second rope simultaneously. Immediately after that combo move is done Melinda connects with a springboard splash.

NOTE: until further notice, please try to book Mel and Fiona in tag team scenarios only ?

  European Marvel Rivals Players?
Posted by: Syren - 08-17-2025, 07:36 PM - Forum: OOC Board - No Replies

I know the majority of the fed is US or Canadian, and of course you guys are invited too if you want to face the higher pings of playing on the European servers, but…

Anyone who plays Marvel Rivals, if you fancy teaming up, add me in game. My username - shockingly, for those who know me - is “Ravyn Effect”. I know, I can’t believe how original and different my username is either.

I play on X-Box, and I’d love to have a few more people to play with either quick play (if you play PC) or competitive (if you play console, since you can’t cross play on competitive but can on every other mode).

I won’t pretend I’m the world’s most amazing player, but I’m doing pretty well right now. Normally play Invisible Woman, Scarlet Witch or Magik, but also enjoy a little Hulk, Thing, Jeff and Star-Lord. I have an alarmingly high win ratio on Star-Lord, but I’d imagine I’ll bring that back down again if I play him more. ??

  Final vote for RP limits
Posted by: supremecw - 08-17-2025, 11:04 AM - Forum: OOC Board - Replies (3)

After the first vote, the overwhelming majority of the fed favours some level of universal word limits, regardless of match. I realize for some who valued the flexibility or the specialness our existing RP limits offered for PPV or title matches, this will be disappointing. This does, however, reflect the changing nature of the game, and for two positives, it will likely make SCW more approachable to new members, and it will obviously make judging a bit quicker as roleplays will be a consistent length.

There is only one vote of difference between two options so I am re-running the vote with the aim of ensuring that everyone's voice is heard for the final decision. Duplicate votes will not count (I am able to see who voted for what). I will allow the vote to be open until Tuesday night at 11:59:59 pm ET, so I can use it in advertising the fed and also to reflect these new rules in the first show back.

Thanks again for taking the time to vote.

Some changes going into the new season
Posted by: supremecw - 08-12-2025, 04:32 PM - Forum: OOC Board - No Replies

Hello all,

As I've hinted at on the discord, I had some plans to help ensure shows have a better chance to be on time, but also to manage my workload and also those of others. These changes will come a few ways.

First, please take some time to read and vote in the poll regarding roleplay limits going forward. One option I've debated, now that most of us are used to word limits, is to revise the demands for title matches and ppv matches as most people are rarely going past the word limits anyways, and we go with a different cap there.

Second - The biggest change is that for those who know, I write the results mimicking television, meaning they have to hit a certain page number to fit our "window" and mimic a three hour show. What many don't know is that often, one of the reasons shows are delayed is that I'm trying to fill the show. Some shows it's easy - there's a lot of content and I have to make cuts and it's all there. Others, I get to about 50 pages, but as my window is 63-72 pages (to mimic roughly 22 pages per hour with a margin for error), I then have to start figuring things out.

So, the next change will be simple - we're going to act like our TV window is now a two hour show instead of a three hour show. This means aiming for a show that is 45-50 words instead of longer (although we may get that overrun!). And it also means I'll be booking a bit differently, namely that I'll be aiming for 4-6 matches per show instead of the usual 7 to 9. This means that people will be booked, I hope, more purposefully, and also less judging on my end, and also less need to keep the creative drive going. All of that is to allow me to focus on a great show. And if people want to be booked every show, they can be - they may just have more dark matches (and I may do something where these matches turn into website specials, etc.). Of course, people can submit segments too, but all of this should allow me, especially on weeks where I may have limited help for whatever reason, to keep the focus on what is necessary and limit the amount of extra work. Writing a five match show solo is far more manageable when I get busy with work than a seven match show solo.

I have a few other ideas also but I'll allow those to be revealed more as I book. One thing that will also help is that I'm teaching a bit less than I have been in recent years, so I hopefully will not have as many commitments there, but also, I'll hopefully not be as burnt out when I'm using a lot of similar skills at a time.

  Roleplay Limits for All Matches?
Posted by: supremecw - 08-12-2025, 04:19 PM - Forum: OOC Board - Replies (14)

Hello all,

Now that it's been a few years since we made the shift to 3500 words per roleplay for TV, for the most part, this is what people write. Rarely do people go well over that limit for ppvs and usually they're specific matches (Title matches people are really motivated to win; Taking Hold of the Flame, etc.).

That in mind, as we are getting older, on average, as a roster, I wanted to revisit this discussion and offer a few options and gauge the temperate of the roster going forward.

Option 1: We keep things as they are. Title matches (not including TV Title) on Breakdown and PPV matches have no word limits. TV shows have 3500 words per roleplay. 2 RP Limit per show.

Option 2: We go to a global 3500 words per roleplay no matter the show or match. All matches have that limit and all matches have a 2 RP Limit

Option 3: We go to a 3500 words per roleplay rule BUT title matches or PPV matches go to a 3 roleplay limit. This means that they still stand out, still offer some writing flexibility, but now with a third roleplay with a cap, instead of no limits in the word count.

All other roleplaying rules would remain (Only one roleplay in the last 24 hours). Ultimately, across the last few years, it should also be clear that quality has always triumphed over quantity. It's more how do we want to offer writers more space, if at all, while balancing that all of us have lives, have other commitments, and want to also get the most out of this hobby.

Please vote and comment and I realize there may be some disagreements, but please keep it civil.
