Young SCW Star Heads Into Surgery
Article sent in by Anonymous SCW Reporter
It was yesterday afternoon, January 14, 2025, that young Supreme Championship Wrestling star Aisling Reed arrived at the world renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital. Escorting her was one half of the Dangerous Minds tag team, Chris Dumont. Aisling went in for throat surgery due to the damage inflicted by former SCW Television Champion Waylon Creek months back.
I chose not to follow the two of them into the hospital. However about four hours later, there was a post that was showing on Miss Reed's Twitch account, apparently the words being from Aisling herself, but typed by Chris Dumont:
"Aisling wanted me to tell you all how she is feeling."
This was the first line that was showing, followed by the ones typed.
"I don't know what to say about the surgery. I still feel woozy. I still don't feel right. The doctors want to keep me here for a few days for further evaluation. I have asked Chris to go to Breakdown and fight his fight. To my fans, and to Polly, Colleen, and even Marissa, hopefully I won't be out of action too long. While I am though, to CHBK, I want Marissa to take my place. I know you have your doubts, but trust her. She won't cause the problems unlike certain others have."
I did see Chris Dumont leaving the hospital hours after nightfall. I tried to stop him to see if he could provide any comments or insight, but he respectfully declined. He then walked away with a dejected but very focused look on his face, took off in a car, and probably went right to the airport.
His caring for the young Aisling is obvious. What is also obvious is that the group that Waylon Creek is a part of, The Fall of Man, is gaining more and more enemies by the day.
The next Breakdown is set to take place in Glendale, Arizona this Friday evening.

Hi all,
For those on Discord, I've given bits and pieces, but I wanted to post this here.
Firstly - the show is coming. I've been working on it when I can to get it done, but also to the level I wanted it to be. I had some strong stories and I wanted to avoid falling into the trap where I just finished things to finish them and then rush the stories when I really like the angles I've been developing. The show will be up tonight or, at worst, early tomorrow. This is for certain - it's more whether I can push myself to get things done tonight.
Part of the challenge was that I thought I was in better shape going into the Winter term. What I failed to consider was that marking would take a lot more time over the holidays and immediately, I've been working week to week with a couple of courses. Add that I taught a general interest class last term - it had over 200 students. Of course, students wrote an exam in it, and some did not do as well as they hope. Because I try to do my job well, I'm meeting with every student and personally going through the exam with them to explain how it was marked and to help them make sense of it. Not only is this time consuming, but it's draining. Simply put, that's been Thursday, Monday, and Tuesday. Add needing to write lectures, my time has been split multiple ways (and I'm also trying to be better this year to spend more time with my wife on the weekend). Hence, despite staying up late to get a lot done, I just have so many hours in the day.
The good news is this should be done, mostly, this week and I won't have other appointments that take up my off days means I can hopefully get a bit more ahead and that, in turn, gives me the time not only to work on Breakdown, but also take time for myself. This is something I'm trying to fix this year as the late shows frustrate me and I'd love to not be constantly working.
So, sorry, again, for starting off the year on a rough foot there. But I hopefully can get out of this cycle and I do sincerely hope the stories on the shows and the quality is worth it, both in terms of the wait, but making people excited for what's next, both for their characters, but in other stories.
